story: frenemies to enemies to lovers, high school au
synopsis: seojun and you have known each other since kindergarten. you’re neighbors and even attended the same singing and piano classes. despite knowing each other for such a long time, you don’t enjoy spending time with seojun. even though you are aware of his unfairness, you keep spending time with him. when will you finally leave your childhood frenemy?
note: juyeong is reader’s brother and is not related to the lims, jugyeong doesn’t exist in this story. humph! is a story inspired by pentagon's "humph! / 접근금지". originally, this is a seungyeon fanfiction, which i posted on my wattpad. words: 4k
Tumblr media
after the encounter, you try your best to avoid han seojun. everytime you spot him walking in the hallways, your feet start moving faster. every so often you won’t allow yourself to put all of your books into your locker and end up carrying the heavy things during the whole day. why does his locker have to be next to yours anyway?
seojun might be academically not the best, but he sure isn’t dumb.
clearly, he notices how you turn around and walk into a complete different classroom whenever he makes an appearance in the same hallway. he also notices how you always walk around with piles of books, never taking the chance to place them into your locker, since his own happens to be next to yours.
one day he spots lee suho helping you with carrying your books. smiling, you thank your friend and hand him over some of them. while heading towards the classroom together, you talk about the upcoming school trip. unfortunately, you’re not quite able to see what’s in front of you since the pile of books cover your sight slightly. yet, as seojun walks past suho, his shoulder hits suho’s which makes the books fall out of his hands with a loud thud.
quickly, you help suho collect the books on the floor and don’t fail to notice him muttering,
“what’s his problem?”
_
it’s an entertaining thursday evening as you spend time in the karaoke bar with your classmates. kang soojin, who happens to be suho’s childhood friend, asked you and suho to tag along with them. first, lee suho declined the kind offer but you luckily managed to convince him.
the noraebang is filled with laughter when taehoon, sua’s boyfriend, sings his lungs out to his favorite song. after your eyes wander from the couple too soojin and then too suho, a smile forms on your face. taehoon’s arm is around suho’s shoulder as they both sing a ballad. you’re happy that suho opens up to others more and you enjoy being able to spend time with these four, feeling like you’re making new friends.
however, it feels a little strange that seojun and chorong aren’t around. you remember how you would go to the karaoke bar every saturday, sometimes it was only seojun and you. secretly, you adored listening to his voice.
suddenly, the notification sound of your phone wakes you up from your short trance.
juyeong: why is seojun hyung’s bike in front of our house?
it’s a message from your younger brother. why hasn’t seojun picked up his bike yet?
while the others continue singing, you excuse yourself and walk outside in order to call your younger brother. patiently, you walk back and forth, waiting for him to answer the call. you sigh when he doesn’t pick up and are about to dial his number again.
before you can do so, you jump and let out a yelp at a familiar voice,
“y/n?”
it’s han seojun.
frightened you turn around, palm pressed to your heart.
“you scared me!” closing your eyes, you let out a relieved breath.
“you’re here too?” seojun ignores your shocked reaction.
“yes.”
“with whom?”
taken aback, you stay silent for a short moment, not knowing how to respond. clearly, you’re aware that seojun, for some reason, isn’t on good terms with suho. therefore, you wouldn’t want him to start a conflict with the innocent boy right here, at the karaoke bar.
“uh, i’m here with soojin a-”
abruptly you trail off when you spot lee suho himself at the entrance, searching for you while his glance shifts through the place. luckily, seojun’s back is facing the entrance. the boy in front of you waits for you to continue but is caught off guard when you pull him around the corner, before suho can find you.
“what are you doing?” seojun questions with lines forming between his brows.
nervously, you try to come up with an excuse while avoiding his gaze, checking behind his back if suho saw you,
“your motorcycle-”
“look who we have over here! seojunnie!”
at the sound of lee sungyong and his gang you stop talking and observe an annoyed expression appear on seojun’s face.
when you turn around to face them, they let out surprised laughs,
“y/n, long time no see!”
“why do you have to here.” seojun groan.
soon, you sense that something bad could happen any moment which makes you dart your glance around the area nervously, looking for a possible way out. timidly, you draw your mouth into a straight line before your fingers firmly grip around seojun’s, pulling him away from the others without thinking twice. the young boy seems shocked by your actions as his legs adjust to your pace.
in no time, you find yourself running away from lee sungyong and his gang, your hand still clutched on seojun’s wrist. adrenaline courses through your veins as you pass several stores, pushing people out of your way. to the sound of lee sungyong shouting your names, you keep your breath steady, push harder and run even faster.
seojun himself forces his legs to push harder, his lungs straining. his breath thickening, he steals a quick glance at you. the wind whips your hair away from your face as you face forwards with an uneasy look. his mind is frantic with thoughts: how is it possible to move this fast?
yet, at this great speed, you can barely see a few feet ahead of you. your feet nearly slip from beneath you when your shoes pound heavily across the ground and mud splashes up your leg.
noticing this, seojun rapidly takes your hand into his own without slowing down and takes the lead. since the boy is familiar with this dark area, he sprints around the next corner. the shoutings behind you don’t stop, demanding you to stop running. after sprinting for solid minutes, you finally hide behind a wall when seojun finds a way to trick the gangsters.
heart pounding faster than ever, you’re still concerned that they will find you. seojun squats down next to you, his legs tired from all the running. when your surroundings are safe, you swiftly stand up while your breath comes in short gasps.
claiming you’re tired would be an understatement. you are exhausted. still you feel relieved that you could escape the group of boys.
moments later seojun sighs with annoyance behind you.
“why did you have to drag me away?” the boy complains before you turn around to face him with a frown on your face.
it’s dark and quiet outside, indicating that it’s probably really late. the air is cold which makes you shiver for a moment. when you wait for him to continue instead of answering, seojun groans, not believing that you seriously don’t understand what he’s trying to point out.
“they’ll think it’s weird of us to run away like cowards. ah, you’re really dumb.”
“i’m dumb?”, you raise your voice with squinted eyes before he can leave,
“you’re the one who believes fish are wet.”
“fish are wet.” the boy slowly turns around to face you again.
“they’re not because they’re surrounded by water. once they get out of-”
“it’s water, y/n!”
it’s not worth arguing with someone as dumb as him.
with a mirthless smile you shake your head,
“you’re the dumb one.”
after that you leave to make your way home, completely forgetting to ask seojun about his motorcycle. the boy himself watches you walk away with a little worry. shouldn’t he walk you home at this time? ah, never mind.
and so he walks home by himself, not used to the fact that his motorcycle is away from him.
_
the next day in school seems like a regular one. fortunately, you were able to get enough sleep this time. thankfully, seojun’s motorcycle was no longer parked in front of your house this morning. not expecting anything spectacular to happen, you enter the classroom with several books in your arms, like always. however, as soon as some of your classmates notice you, they walk to your seat with widen eyes.
“y/n! where were you last night?”, soojin asks you with a calm tone.
sua hits your shoulder playfully and whines, “do you know how worried we were?!”
oh, no. you completely forgot to contact them after your small adventure with han seojun.
“poor suho looked everywhere for you.”, taehoon pouts, his glance darting to suho, who was sitting on his seat peacefully.
after hearing taehoon’s words, you turn your head to the innocent boy with regret written on your face,
“i’m so sorry.”
“don’t worry, y/n. we’re glad you’re okay.” suho smiles at you as the others agree.
the day passes normally, like you predicted, until lunch break.
considering kim chorong is nowhere to be seen, and you’re trying to stay away from han seojun, you sit next to you other friends during lunch. the same people from the karaoke bar talk about their plans after school, when suddenly everyone looks up to the sight of han seojun’s. his loud steps and irritated expression catches all the attention in the canteen.
however, you feel concerned when you’re approached by him, your heart beating a little faster.
“yah, y/l/n y/n.”
you gulp when he carefully talks in a controlled voice, glaring at you through his cat like eyes,
“come out.”
the whole lunch room gasps with surprise at his statement, anticipating on what will happen next. just when he grabs your arm to drag you out of the room, lee suho steps between you both, slapping seojun’s grip away from your arm,
“what do you think you’re doing?”, he speaks with a low voice.
“you better stay out of this.”
han seojun hisses and holds on your uniform this time, pulling you away from the others.
your head is filled with endless questions when you’re forced to follow him out. what have you done wrong? the corridor is empty and silent as the boy in front of you pounds his hand on the wall behind you, leaving only a small gap between your faces. your back is pressed against the cold wall.
blown away by the sudden closeness you swallow dryly, unable to wet your parched throat. his sudden change in mood slightly intimates you.
“you think you can piss me off easily?”
you’re taken aback when he snaps.
“wh-what are you talking about?” nervously, you stammer while excessively blinking.
after that, seojun laughs with edge, eyes leaving yours for a moment to remain his calm. why are you pretending to not know? seconds later he bends down to your height, now even closer than before. eyes looking deeply into yours, he tries to read you. yet, the only thing he’s able to see is your confusion.
“do you believe giving my keys to that bastard is funny?”
“i have no clue what you’re talking about.”
luckily, the worry in you melts down a little but you’re still confused.
“you’re really starting to get on my nerves now. this morning lee sungyong came to me with these, and my damaged bike.”
frustrated, seojun takes his keys out of his jacket-pocket and holds them up for you too see. a line forms between your brows when you stare at the keys, waiting for him to continue,
“and what do i have to do with that?”
“are you kidding me?! you’re the person who had my keys the whole time!” seojun hisses, his voice raising which causes you to flinch lightly,
“my bike was parked in front of your house, remember? you gave my keys to that bastard!”
“i didn’t have your keys!” finally you defend yourself, slowly getting annoyed by his behavior.
“you did, i gave them to you last week!”
seojun’s face is still insanely close to yours.
“you did, but i gave them back to you.” you look into his eyes with confusion.
“what?” seojun’s expression reflects your own.
“i-i put them into your pocket. didn’t you notice?”
oh no. he absolutely didn’t.
“when did you do that?”
“the day after you gave them to me. i thought you would notice.” you mumble the last part quietly, suddenly feeling like it’s your fault.
precisely, you remember how you put seojun’s keys back in his jacket, which was hanging on his seat when he wasn’t around. taking the opportunity, you decided to quickly put them in there without having to face seojun for it, since you weren’t on good terms.
all this time you wondered why the boy wouldn’t pick up his bike. it was standing there whole time, which made you believe that maybe he truly wanted to quit riding his motorcycle.
however, it turns out that he never noticed. how did the others find his keys, though? was it your fault? perhaps you should have simply handed them to him personally instead of being stubborn.
seojun sighs with frustration and runs his hand through his hair,
“how did they get them then?”
suddenly it all clicks. everything makes sense when you remember every detail from last night. with unease your eyes widen,
“the jacket you wore last night... it was the navy one, right?”
he thinks for a moment before nodding, waiting for you to continue.
“i put the keys in that one. maybe it slipped out while we were running?”
you glance around, not focusing on anything as you try to avoid his eyes. this doesn’t feel good at all.
a momentary look of discomfort crosses seojun’s face. he realizes that you’re possibly right and that he shouldn’t have accused you to do something like that. the fact that he already messed up by telling suho to stay away from you makes everything even worse. he feels guilty when he catches you looking around nervously. it’s not your fault.
right when he’s about to form words, two students run past him which causes him to stumble over his feet in shock. on the spur of the moment, his body is pressed on yours. at the sudden contact, you let out a small gasp when you notice that you’re stuck between him and the wall. one of his palms is still pressed against the wall behind you, while the other one holds on your shoulder to steady himself.
both of you look up at the same time, embarrassed by his sudden actions. when your eyes meet, your heart pounds against your ribs as if trying to reach thousand beats. it’s so intense that you internally pray for him not to hear it. his face is only a few centimetres away from yours which makes you freeze on spot. somehow you feel his breath on your cheek and you think you’re about to lose it.
why are you so nervous suddenly?
why does his gaze make your heart beat so fast?
carefully, you study seojun’s face. his dark hair partly falls over his forehead, his eyes now relaxed, cheeks tinted a bright shade of pink.
in fact, seojun is blushing profusely. just like you, he’s taken aback by the closeness and can’t help but gaze into your eyes deeply. he too, feels strangely nervous, a little too nervous if truth be told.
after what seems like seconds, you can’t stand it anymore and forcefully hit his forehead with your head, which makes him stumble backwards.
probing the pained area, seojun winces, “what the hell?!”
“i-i told you i didn’t give them your keys!”, you decide to come up with that instead of showing how the boy effected you so easily,
“you always put the blame on me.” after mumbling that you rush back to the canteen in super speed, hoping for your poor heart to calm down.
seojun only watches you sprint away, unaware of how he made you feel. rubbing his forehead painfully, he shakes his head in order to get rid of his thoughts.
there’s no way. i should probably just see a doctor.
_
time passes quickly and finally the important day has come: the school trip. everyone from your grade was talking about the upcoming event the whole time, planing several games and activities. for you it seems nice too but since you’re avoiding seojun, which also automatically makes it harder to see chorong, you worry how you’re going to spend the whole time on your own. it’s a bummer that lee suho refused to join the trip. certainly, you attempted to convince your friend but unsuccessful.
as soon as you arrive at the school gates, where everyone is already waiting with their suitcases, you feel uneasy. nearing the others, you concern about the fact that you’ll probably have to sit alone in the bus. yet, when you finally approach the others you spot suho standing next to soojin, sua and taehoon. instantly, a smile appears on your face and you greet them, adding that you’re happy for suho to join them. glancing around, it doesn’t take you long to see han seojun next to kim chorong. without looking at them for too long, you focus back on your other friend group with little uncertainty.
one by one, students enter the bus after putting their suitcases into the bus trunk. for some reason you happen to be the last person to enter the bus. after putting your luggage into the trunk, you’re ready to go inside. yet, out of nowhere chorong appears in front of you with puppy eyes, begging for you to pack his snacks into your backpack, since his own is already full. not thinking about it too much, you agree and start placing them into your bag. chorong smiles with satisfaction and thanks you before his eyes check behind him. he winks at sua and gives her a sign after making sure you’re not paying attention to him.
sua then pushes her boyfriend and soojin inside when nobody is left, leaving chorong and you alone. eventually you manage to push in all the snacks into your bag. you’re surprised when you see that everyone is already in the bus and follow chorong inside as well.
as soon as you enter, suho finds your eyes and waves at you, indicating that he saved you a seat next to him. happily, you nod and wait for the others in front of you to take their seats.
you fail to notice chorong’s eyes widen when he stops in front of you, not allowing you to sit next to lee suho. sua understands the situation and slightly pushes kang soojin towards the empty seat next to suho.
oh, well.
both of your friends exchange surprised looks. however, seconds later soojin smiles at the boy next to him, starting a conversation.
as a matter of fact, you feel upset. disappointed, you move on, eyes not leaving chorong’s back. who are you going to sit next to now?
when the boy in front eventually arrives at the very back, you’re concerned. surprisingly, kim chorong takes the seat behind han seojun, leaving the last seat, which was next to seojun, for you.
han seojun doesn’t bother looking up, as he’s focused on his phone. clearing your throat, you request,
“chorong-ah, change seats with me.”
“nah, i like this seat.” stubbornly, he crosses his arms across his chest, head leaning against the window with closed eyes.
the short conversation catches seojun’s attention and he looks up with curiosity. after taking a look at the filled seats his eyes land and you. he’s surprised when he notices that you have to take seat next to him.
letting out a quiet sigh, you give chorong one last glare before sitting next to seojun. this is either going to be really awkward or provoking.
of course, once again you don’t notice chorong peeking at the both of you before giving sua and taehoon a thumbs up, content that their plan worked successfully.
“are you sure this is a good idea?” taehoon whispers to his girlfriend,
“they look like they’ll throw hands at each other any moment.”
“ ah, don’t worry. they’ll make up sooner than you think.” sua takes a quick glimpse of you plugging in your earpods without exchanging any words with the boy next to you.
but sua was wrong.
half an hour already passes and you still haven’t spoken any word. although, there‘s a small desire of talking to you in seojun, he can‘t make himself form the right words.
right when chorong is about to lose hope and fall asleep, something finally happens.
feeling tired from all the packing last night, you sense your eyelids getting heavier and you’re struggling to keep them open. nonetheless, you’re no longer able to do so and you fall asleep instantly.
out of the blue seojun feels your head resting on his shoulder. the boy is dumbstruck when his eyes widen, holding in his breath for a moment. his body shuts down and he doesn’t know how to react when his posture stiffens. besides that, he feels the skin on his shoulder tingle.
seojun almost curses under his breath when his heart races once again. this time, there’s a fluttering in his stomach as well, causing him to go speechless. from the corner of his eye, he observes your expression. a slight frown forms on your face, hair covering parts of it, lips in a small pout.
no matter what you do, you look so effortlessly... good. it doesn’t make a difference to him if you’re annoyed, confused, happy or simply tired. he always notices himself looking at you the same way, with adoring eyes. attempting to ignore it, he chose to tease you, not daring to ever show you.
he knew he went to far and feels stupid for his actions. yet, why doesn’t he just apologize? perhaps he doesn’t want to accept the fact that you mean much more to him. perhaps he’s afraid he’ll never mean more to you.
still asleep, you unknowingly move your head closer to seojun’s chest, feeling more comfortable this way. after that, he feels your arm wrap around his torso, almost snuggling him.
the boy’s heart melts at the sight of you. although his heart feels like exploding, he doesn’t want to admit that he kinda enjoys the skin-ship with his you. right when he’s about to run his hand through your hair, the sound of a camera catches his attention.
he looks up to find sua taking a polaroid picture, chorong awing at the sight of his two friends sharing a moment.
“aw, you guys are so cute!” sua jumps up and down, while handing seojun the polaroid picture.
suddenly seojun gets aware of his surroundings and the situation he finds himself in. he blinks a few times before moving his shoulder purposely while coughing, making your head fall down in a swift move.
before it hits his lap, you open your eyes and rub them with a displeased expression,
“what happened?”, you ask with a low voice, completely clueless.
“why- why do you fall asleep on my shoulder? that’s so uncomfortable. get a pillow or something!”
seojun stammers in the beginning, eyes not able to meet your tired ones. your friends sigh with annoyance and return to their seats, disappointed by seojun’s change in mood.
“sorry.” after rubbing your eyes, you steal a short glance at seojun. you’re slightly embarrassed and fix your hair while sitting up properly.
the boy only shrugs, quickly hiding the polaroid in the pocket inside of his jacket before you can see it.
seemingly, this trip is not going to be easy for han seojun.
little does he know, this was only the beginning of cupid chorong’s plan.

summary: Harry and Ron think they’ve discovered a secret relationship between you and Fred. Little do they know, they’ve just been clueless to the obvious romance all around them.
(2.8k)
----------
“Mate,” Harry’s voice was muffled from where his head was tucked under his thick blanket, but Ron turned to him anyways. Ron watched Harry’s black, unruly hair spill from under the covers, followed by the light at the tip of his wand and a folded piece of paper.
“Hm?” Ron hummed, expecting Harry to have woken him from his light sleep because of another nightmare he had about spiders. Ron didn’t remember these nightmares, but Harry told him all about his sleep talking in the morning.
“Come look at this.”
Ron wanted to protest the wakeup call, but his eyes focused in the dark and he realized the paper in Harry’s hands was the map. The map. Ron always woke up for the map.
Ron stumbled from under his covers, his feet landing loudly on the ground. Harry widened his eyes, flicking them to Neville and Seamus, both of them still asleep. Ron tread over more carefully, rubbing the remnants of sleep from his eyes.
“What is it?” he whispered, pulling the curtains closed on Harry’s four poster and sitting on the bed by Harry’s knees.
Harry thrusted the map into Ron’s arms, the tip of his wand, still illuminated, showing him where to look.
Ron’s eyes followed, and his face was turned into a grimace of disgust before he could help it.
“No,” he mumbled, holding the map tighter in his pale and freckled hands and bringing it closer to his face, knocking Harry’s wand away by accident.
“Do you think-” Harry cut himself off, his lips pulled in a sympathetic but worried thin line, his eyes opened in shock beneath his glasses.
“It can’t be,” Ron gasped out in the way Ron gasps when he doesn’t know the answer to something.
“I dunno, mate,” Harry said wistfully, leaning his back against the headboard behind him.
“I’m going to ask George about it tomorrow,” Ron said, standing with dedication but tossing the map back to Harry with hesitation.
On his way back to his bed, Harry heard Ron mumble, “For Merlin’s sake,” and flop into his bed with a new sense of exhaustion.
The next morning, Ron was pleased to wake with no memory of any spider nightmares, and Harry didn’t have the look on his face he usually did when he was about to regale Neville and Seamus with Ron’s asleep ramblings. Harry, however, had a different look on his face. Something mixed with apprehension and excitement.
“Ready?” Harry asked from the doorway, watching as Ron was neglecting to tuck in his shirt tales and tighten his tie, granted to lose Gryffindor some house points if Snape saw his uniform so out of order. Harry decided to leave it to either Hermione or Snape, whichever got to Ron first.
Ron mumbled something in response, swinging his bag over his shoulder and following Harry down the stairs.
“Still going to ask him?” Harry said, slipping past Ron as he held open the portrait for him.
“Who?” Ron said, squinting as his eyes adjusted to the light let into the hallway by the tall, arching windows.
“George,” Harry said, eyeing Ron as he walked beside him.
“What do I have to ask George?” Ron said, hopping over the trick step in the stairs and pausing as Harry did too.
“You don’t remember last night? The map?” Harry turned at the sound of his name, and Ron racked his brain as they waited for Hermione to come down the stairs.
Ron’s eyes lit up when Hermione reached the last step, causing her cheeks to flush. Ron punched Harry’s shoulder.
“Yes! Bloody hell, thanks for reminding me!” Ron started to the Great Hall, not casting Hermione or Harry a second glance to make sure they followed.
“Ron!” Hermione called, shifting her overflowing bag on her shoulder, “Fix your uniform!”
Ron continued to walk ahead of his friends, going to the Gryffindor table while his hands worked away at his uniform.
“What’s got him in such a rush?” Hermione huffed, tightening the hair tie in her hair as she walked with Harry a few paces behind Ron.
“We saw something on the map last night,” Harry mumbled, craning his neck to see over everyone and making sure he didn’t lose sight of the ginger tuft of hair he was following.
Hermione rolled her eyes, refusing to give into the rumors Harry and Ron would be creating today based on something they thought they saw on an enchanted map-- a map they had no idea it’s origin, or it’s creators, or it’s purposes.
George was where he usually was, right beside Lee and Fred as the three of them stuffed their faces with eggs and bacon and toast. His eyes flickered to Ron when he approached, then he sat up straighter when Harry slid next to Ron.
“Boys,” he mumbled, his mouth full of eggs. Next to him, Lee looked up and quirked an eyebrow. Fred was still busy stuffing bacon in his mouth, just about to wipe his greasy fingers on his school sweater.
“George,” Ron said, his voice overly curious and polite in an attempt to hide the information he was holding, “could Harry and I speak to you?”
George’s eyes shifted between Harry and Ron, as if trying to read their minds and determine if this was worth cutting his breakfast short for. He looked down at his nearly empty plate and decided it was.
“Sure,” George stood, wiping his hands on a napkin, and slung his bag onto his shoulder.
“Where ya going?” Fred asked, looking up at George as he stood behind him.
“Ron and Harry want to talk to me, I’ll see you in Minnie’s class.”
Fred chuckled, seeming satisfied with his brother’s response and paid no more attention to it. Harry watched him as they walked back out of the hall, noticing him leaning over to say something into your ear. You flushed, hitting Fred’s shoulder jokingly, and turned back to your friends, ignoring Fred’s burning gaze on the back of your head. Harry turned away, feeling more confident in deciding to skip breakfast for this conversation.
Along the way, Ron slotted himself in an empty part of the table, picking up a stack of toast and eating it as he walked along the aisle.
“Alright,” George said, stuffing his hands into his pants pockets and rocking on his heels, “what’s up?”
“The map-” Harry started, but George stopped him, alarm in his eyes.
“Is something wrong with it?” George asked, lowering his voice and stepping closer to Harry, “What happened?”
“No,” Ron said, stepping closer to George and Harry as he finished off his last piece of toast, “No, we saw something on it.”
George relaxed and leaned away, propping himself against the stone wall in the hallway.
“That’s to be expected,” he said, smirking.
“Yes, we know,” Harry answered, avoiding Ron’s annoyed huff.
“We saw something in your dorm last night,” Ron said, his tone harsh and hurried.
George didn’t answer, only narrowed his eyes and waited for the younger boys to continue.
“Y/n was in your dorm last night,” Harry said slowly, then glanced at Ron, who nodded him on, “in Fred’s four poster.”
George let out a surprised laugh that echoed in the hallway like a cackle. Harry adjusted his glasses awkwardly and Ron shifted his weight between his feet as they waited for George to calm down.
“He’s such an idiot!” George managed in his laughter, bringing his hand to his face to either smother the sound or wipe his tears, “I knew it was only a matter of time!”
Harry glanced at Ron, both of them holding a look of curiosity and slight worry in their brows. The boys had thought they had unearthed a scandalous secret, and in Harry’s secret wishes, he had drifted off to sleep imagining a scenario in which George would be so pleased with Harry and Ron for telling him that he’d enlist them to help him prank Fred. Harry saw that secret wish drifting out of his grasp as George’s laughter failed to subside.
“George!” Ron finally groaned, stomping his foot a little.
“You two,” George said with an admiring tone before he swiped a hand over his now pink face.
George was too overcome with laughter to pay any mind to the boys, so he simply walked back into the hall, pleased to see food was still being served. He had worked up quite the appetite with all that laughing.
“What’d they want?” Lee asked as George slipped beside him.
“Tell ya later,” George managed before suffocating his laughter with a forkful of eggs.
Fred had paid his twin no mind, once again, his gaze still on you. You had been hiding your face from him since George had left, giggling with your friends in an attempt to avoid Fred’s knowing and painfully flirtatious gaze.
On their way to Transfiguration, Lee walked beside George. Fred trailed behind his friend and brother, walking on the outskirts of the herd of girls you traveled in.
George lowered his head, his mouth close to Lee’s ear so they could talk in a more private way.
“Ron and Harry told me something quite interesting,” George said mysteriously, his eyes trained on Lee’s face.
“What?” Lee said, enthused at the idea of a secret.
“Harry said he saw Y/n in our dorm last night, on the map, in Fred’s bed.”
Lee’s reaction was very much similar to George’s when Harry and Ron told him. It gathered Fred’s attention, and he jogged a bit to catch up with the two, leaving your group behind.
“What’s so funny, mate?” Fred slung his arm around Lee’s slightly shorter shoulders, jostling him as he laughed.
“Told him about your prank idea,” George lied easily, “I reckon he likes it.”
Lee nodded at Fred, who smiled smugly. The rest of the short walk to class was spent with Lee falling into fits of giggles every time George looked at him.
The common room fire crackled loudly, but could not be heard over the bustle of students. With classes let out and the weather outside being dreadful, everyone went to their respective common rooms for the evening.
George and Lee were spread out on the couch, their legs entangled in the middle with each of their heads perched on the armrests at opposite ends. Lee flipped through a Quidditch magazine while George flipped through the new Zonko's catalogue. Both of them were aware of Fred’s absence.
Harry and Ron came through the portrait hole. Ron was squeezing out his drenched bag, tracking a trail of mud into the room as Harry undid his soggy tie from around his equally soggy shirt collar.
“I told you-” Hermione said as she came in behind them, seeming to be completely dry.
“Yes, ‘Mione, we know,” Harry cut her off, digging through his bag for his wand.
Hermione cast a cleaning charm at Ron’s feet, then at the rug he had dirited. The drying spell came from her wand just as easily, leaving Harry and Ron with frizzy hair and dry clothes.
Ron fell onto the floor in front of the couch George and Lee were on, dumping his wet school books onto the coffee table. Harry did the same, though a bit more gracefully. Hermione walked past them and up the stairs to her dorm.
“See anything else interesting on the map today?” Lee snickered, his magazine now resting on his chest as he looked at the boys.
George chuckled, untangling himself from Lee and sitting up. He made no protests when Lee rearranged his legs to fall across George’s lap.
Ron flushed, perhaps in frustration or embarrassment, and scoffed as he riffled through his books.
“Let us in on the joke, George,” Harry pleaded, slumping in his spot on the ground and abandoning his soaked books.
“I dunno...” George teased, resting his warm hands on Lee’s shins as he pretended to be in deep thought, “Should we, Lee?”
Lee perked up, sitting up as his legs stayed in their position on George. He mimicked George’s look before he nodded reluctantly.
“Might as well, everyone else knows,” he flung his legs from George’s, sitting so his shoulder bumped against George’s. George willed his face not to blush. He didn’t think anyone as thick as Ron and Harry would notice, seeing as they still had no idea about you and Fred.
“C’mon!” Ron whined, half at George and half at the smudged ink on his newly written Charms essay.
“Alright,” George said, “We’ll let you in on the secret.”
George leaned forwards, and Harry and Ron shuffled to the other side of the coffee table, closer to the other boys. They were perched on their knees like children waiting for a bedtime story, expectantly looking to George and Lee.
“Fred and Y/n have been fooling around for a couple of months,” George paused for dramatic effect and waited as Ron and Harry shared blushing faces and smug looks, “They don’t think anyone knows, but practically everyone does.”
“Is that why-” Harry started, his mouth forming into an ‘o’ shape as George began nodding his head.
Harry thought back to all the odd comments people on the Quidditch team had made every time Fred was late for practice. Why Angelina didn’t have him running excruciating drills every time he was late, as she did everyone else. All the sly looks Fred made towards the student section at one particular person.
“So, the map was right? They were-” Ron cut himself off at George’s nodding, his face distorting into disgust.
“Hello, losers,” Ginny said, coming from the dormitory stairs.
Harry straightened instinctually. George glanced between Harry, Ron, and Ginny, absolutely in awe at how his little brother could be so clueless when it came to romance. George and Lee instinctually moved away from each other, now that they were in the presence of someone with an actual insight to the world.
“Hey, Gin,” Ron said, his voice low as if he had a lot on his mind.
“What are you lot talking about?” She fell into an armchair that had been pulled close to the couch, so they could still all talk in a low voice and hear each other.
Harry and Ron shared a glance, then looked to George and Lee as if they were asking for permission. George shrugged his shoulders, falling deeper into the couch.
“Y/n and Fred,” Harry said, his eyes searching Ginny’s face for a hint as to if what George and Lee had told them was as well known as they said.
Ginny rolled her eyes and chuckled good-naturedly, “Finally.”
George smirked at the look of shock on Ron and Harry’s faces.
The rain fell against the window in a soothing pattern, and you could have watched it for hours. Your eyes fell upon two drops, watching them race to the bottom of the glass before they joined the rushing water sliding off the building.
Beneath you, Fred’s chest rose and fell in a calming rhythm, a reminder that he was still there when you were too lost in the views of the window.
Fred’s gaze was on your face, as it usually was, and his long fingers were lost somewhere in your hair. You felt his fingertips brush against your ear every once and awhile, also a reminder he was there.
Fred licked his lips, watching your eyes move up and down towards the window. He watched the way your teeth snagged your bottom lip occasionally, watched the way your cheeks would hollow when you subconsciously pursed your lips in thought. Fred watched his own hands on you, one in your hair and the other wrapped around your waist.
Your chin rested on his chest, laid diagonally across the bed so you could see out of the window and so Fred could see you.
“When do you reckon Lee and George are going to tell us?” you said, breaking the comfortable silence that had been between you two. You shifted your head, resting your cheek against his chest and looking up at him.
“When we tell them we know, I’d guess,” Fred said, looking down at you with lidded eyes.
You hummed in agreeance, closing your eyes and hoping Fred would do the same so you could both nap. He didn’t.
“When should we tell them about us?” he asked, a hint on unease in his voice as he waited for your response.
You didn’t open your eyes, “When they tell us they know.”
Fred’s chest moved with a chuckle that escaped his throat, causing you to bounce slightly beneath him. His fingers brushed away hair that had fallen into your face, and his eyes fell closed.
“That’s fair,” he mumbled, shifting his head on the pillows beneath him and drifting off to sleep.

We’ll find out tonight if our predictions are correct!
Responses to the written questions are under the cut.
Where is Ned and what is he doing?
No idea
Business trip
Dealing with some financial issues.
Doing business in UC or Hamilton. Nothing major
He stayed behind next episode and will be back in the finale.
I think planning something for Florence, maybe expansion for the mercantile?
I don't know
I have no idea, wth!?!?
Yo i have no idea. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say he's trying to contact Florence's daughter who wasnt there for the wedding
Maybe he's visiting his daughter? Or expanding the Mercantile somehow
With Mike. Oil pipeline
Hiding
It sure
I have no clue honestly, maybe planning a surprise for Florence?
Perhaps...expanding his store? Or ordering something new to begin to be shipped to his.
something related to factory
Sussing out suppliers
Maybe something to do with the Wyman guy?
visiting his daughter
Buying a new house or a surprise for Florence
Visiting Abigail
Planning something special for Florence
He is doing something with his daughter

Honestly I’m not sure but interested to find out!
Idk honestly. Probably actually doing something sweet for Florence but she doesn't know it.
What's up with the Pinkertons?
Not sure
A storyline to bring a change of pace to the show.
I really Don’t know
Not sure, but I don’t think it will be resolved this season, maybe it’s the cliffhanger?
I don't know
They’re hired thugs like they were in S1, just there to show Walden is a bad guy despite appearances
Factory related
Up to no good! Don’t trust them.
Yo i dont even know. They look totally sketch but they are probably the good guys actually. I'm predicting they are after someone who's been wanted for a long time. I think it may be too easy to link them with the guy who took Jesse and Clara's money
Not sure yet
Working for Waldon
Railroad
Sneakily buying land
I couldn't care less about them
Perhaps something is in the cabin/someone they don't want found.
No idea
Something to do with the mine disaster (even though it's been ages).

Setting up a good storyline for season 9
Not sure maybe something to do with the new factory that might be built
Maybe it has to do with Henry
I have no idea, but I do not like them!
No good
Buying all the land
They have Jesse. Someone wants to reopen the mine and seek revenge on Elizabeth for his son going to jail (Spurlock).
Looking for some kind of hidden good
Shady dealings going on
Guarding the future factory site. But something extra at the cabin connected with Spurlock.
Trouble
?
An even bigger I dont know on this one. Like, what in the world???
Holding Jesse captive
I think they kidnapped Jesse because he found out what they were up to but I have no idea what that is
stumped on this one
That is difficult. He is apparently connected to S1 Spurlock. Is he there for revenge? Or, just a heavy hand like his relative?
Revenge? They want to take over Hope Valley.
Something sketchy, probably bigger than just whatever is going on with the cabin though.
Land grab
No clue but they'll be one of the big bads next season
They are probably the goons of the Industry dude
They are working for somebody bigger.
They want to take over the town
I don't know
i'm worried about Nathan
idk they are the bad daddys of the season
they can only be there to cover up a crime, or some valuable find
No clue
They’re wanting to uproot Hope Valley for better business by destroying the town.
Keeping identity of mastermind safe from townspeople.
Maybe looking for Ned, who alternatively is a serial killer and now on the run. Possibly for the murder of Abigail's mother?
I’m so confused lol
Creating a monopoly & doing some villain nonsense (as it would seem the show is hinting).
Any other thoughts going into the finale?
No
There will be at least one surprise- not sure what
There are too many loose ends to tie up in one episode and I just want Elizabeth and Nathan together (and perhaps quickly married in this episode!)
I’m honestly really nervous, I’m rooting for Nathan but I have a feeling she’ll go for Lucas, I really don’t mind Lucas as a character but like what storylines can they do with them as a couple? The manuscript is finished, they’ve gone on every sort of date at this stage and she’s been in his office. What else can they do? With Nathan they can do the being scared because of his job again but making it different, there’s children involved now, it’s not just Elizabeth. Jack won’t understand but Allie will 100% feel worried for him. Also Allie having a mother figure, especially at this stage in her life, how could you not want it! The blended family as the main family would be so nice for this show, I know it’s been done before but they will be fairly front and centre in the show. Sorry for the rant, I love your blog so much! I don’t have tumblr so I can’t leave comments or like your gifs but I thoroughly enjoy all your theories and opinions!!
Just ready for this stupid love triangle to be over!
I’d love to actually see Henry meet up with Abigail, but doubt it. I hope they have Clara do something heroic for Jesse, but also doubt it. Henry will definitely be putting Hickam in charge at least temporarily. I think Ned will return but we won’t get a full explanation yet. And the dramatic ending won’t be the triangle choice, it’ll be Elizabeth losing the school.
Allie’s adoption finalized and reaction to Elizabeth choosing Nathan is something we should see.
Glad the triangle will be DONE!!
I hope that Elizabeth follows her heart and not pick someone who is a safe option.
I wish Faith were leaving instead of Carson. Also, I think there will be lots of set up for problems with the school board and Elizabeth. Also, I want more little Jack scenes but i don't think we'll get much since child acting laws and covid combined make that difficult
Excited for Elizabeth to move on from her past and enter a new adventure with either of the two men and really just everything else (Rosie and Lee, Fiona, Henry.)
I hope Faith doesn’t end up with whoever doesn’t get chosen by Elizabeth.
hopefully the finale will clear up the drawn out love triangle
The triangle was waaaaay drawn out. Be done and choose.
Nathan and Faith......would be great......
No matter who Elizabeth chooses I'm SOOOO READY to get this over with!
Kindness matters - no matter who she chooses. Isn't that why most of us watch the show
I am so over the love triangle and just want to know who Elizabeth picks.
Worried about the fandom more than anything
Elizabeth please pick Nathan
It's just a TV show and no matter what , it's there for our entertainment. I do think they're setting things up for the return of Abigail in some way.
The must be a Season 9!!!
I hope Fiona does not get involved with Mike.
Hopefully things get back to normal for Elizabeth and Rosemary
Interested to see the other storylines. I want Elizabeth to choose Nathan but I think JT will throw us off. From the promo pic, it looks like they will try to put Faith with Nathan.
- I just want Elizabeth to chose so that this storyline can come to an end and we can finally get to see her marriage and functioning has a wife. - Wonder what will become of Lucas once her choice is made. - I would like Lucas to have a proper storyline that doesn't involve Elizabeth or the love triangle. - I would love to see Rosemary and Lee finally become parents however that may happen. I feel like the writer just left them in limbo about it and keep teasing but never delivering on anything.
Hopefully will end with Nathan but the very last minute. I would prefer more romance before the finale
Elizabeth will have to decide on what’s important with school.
Jack might make an appearance in a dream scene?
So excited! I hope I don't wake up my kids while watching.
I hope they don’t pick Lucas
CLARA DISCOVERS SHE IS PREGNANT
?
Just excited for this to be over. I know we needed it and I think overall it was handled decent enough, but I'm glad to finally move on.
Why is everyone so scared?
The whole season has been about getting over your fear. Elizabeth doesn’t have to deal with her emotions or real life with Lucas because school is out for the summer and she is working on her book. She needs to make up with Rosemary and get over the loss of Jack and fear to be with Nathan.
this season has been totally not what I expected...I thought the hug at end of season 7 was definitive and we'd get at least some Nathan courtship, not a complete U-turn to Lucas (with hopefully a turn to Nathan at the very end). I now think Season 9 will be what I expected season 8 to be, and I am very much looking forward to that.
Something sudden will allow Elizabeth to bring her feelings to light for everyone...Nathan. I think she will have decided by the time she takes of the rings, but will not have the opportunity to share with the man until later. Until she faces the prospect of him being in danger again? Full circle from the end of S7.
I need Elizabeth to really apologize to Rosemary. Rosemary has always been there for Elizabeth.
I’m so afraid :(
Hated the triangle
I am so ready to finally move on from this triangle!
They put waaaay too many storyline in the last 2 episodes, they will never manage to conclude them all and we'll have another weird random cliffhanger which will not tie in with the Christmas episode (If we're getting one ?)
I hope the guy who loses, has a good life in later seasons
The annoying love triangle will finally end. Elizabeth/Nathan are endgame, unless Jack suddenly comes back from the dead. But, I doubt it. I hope Lee/Rosemary are pregnant, or decide to adopt children. I just want Lee/Rosemary to have children. Can't wait to see how this season ends. Hopefully, it won't be a cliffhanger.
Nervous as hell
Elizabeth and Nathan get married
i kinda hope someone dies tbh it would make everything more interesting
Elizabeth was so tiresome this season, they could have told her story of overcoming grief in a much more relatable way. Why did they not just have her talking to Rosemary about how sad or exhausted or numb or angry she feels all the time? You know, something a widow would actually go through. At the very least she could have been stoic, instead she was just kinda bitchy.
Faith and Nathan will have some sparks; Elizabeth will choose Lucas and they will kiss twice one being at bridge one being at her home inside with baby jack present.Carson will leave; Jessie will be found; Ned will come back safely.
Lucas endgame, Nathan and faith have sparks, Rosemary paper, Jessie and Clara make up.
I think Henry will take his own advice and leave to find Abigail to see if there is still any hope for them. Though I like his character, I want him to finally be happy, and if that means staying with Abigail, then that’s what it means. I don’t think TPTB will bring back Lori soooo.... that means Henry would be the one possibly leaving. I also think some scare will happen with Nathan between him and the Pinkertons. Then it may come full circle at the end where Elizabeth runs to him like she did last season, but instead of hugging him, she’ll kiss him instead.
Hallmark execs dictated ending and will cut salaries to bring back Abigail, hence Paul leaving.
My condolences to whichever guy gets to look forward to being bored by Elizabeth for the rest of his life. Are we sure Jack's death wasn't a suicide?
Ready to see how it ends and already looking forward to next season!
I will be really disappointed if she chooses Lucas but I’m afraid that’s where it’s headed. Either way I don’t understand how they’ll end in “the healthy place” they’ve said it will be with so much left for one episode.

Hospital Playlist | Winter Garden
*SEASON 01 SPOILERS ALERT*
Remember you can find all the Hospital Playlist reviews/analysis filed in “hospital playlist reviews” tag at the end of the post.
Tumblr media
It would be very difficult to talk about Jung-won without mentioning Gyeo-wool and vice versa. Their respective journeys have been intertwined from the very beginning and in ways we didn’t even know until the end of the first season of Hospital Playlist. Theirs turned out to be a symbiotic relationship. So, I decided to dedicate a full review to them.
Jung-won’s life was one of the first mysteries in Hospital Playlist. The drama introduced his character little by little and almost always thorough other characters to give us an idea of the kind of person he is. So, when it was revealed that he is the youngest son of the CEO of Yulje Foundation and Hospital, we already got the general idea that he was a dedicated and hardworking doctor, with a very particular (and hilarious) family situation that put him in the spot to take over his father’s place. And that he didn’t want that position at all.
Still, it’s pretty obvious Jung-won has a head for business. You can tell by the proposal he presented to Chairman Ju in the first episode when he transferred his family’s hospital stocks to him. In exchange he got lofty jobs for his friends and himself, and even complete control over the money coming from the VIP ward in the hospital. This is a man that clearly thinks several steps ahead. A man that goes the distance. A marathoner.
Right after his father’s funeral (in March) and finally free of the pressure of having to run his family’s foundation, Jung-won put that determination into achieving his childhood dream of becoming a priest.
Enter Jang Gyeo-wool.
When we were first introduced to Gyeo-wool, I remember thinking she was the opposite of Jung-won. While she was presented as blunt and aloof, he was tactful and a bleeding heart. Because of this I always believed the two actually made a good team and that they could learn from each other.
Now that the first season is over, I think that was Writer Lee and PD Shin’s purpose all along: to make the viewers connect the two, at least in a professional light at first, so that we would eventually start picking up subtle hints that something else might be going on between them.
Of course, Hospital Playlist exceeded my expectations because things started to be not so subtle pretty fast. For me it really was when Jung-won said that Gyeo-wool wasn’t his “cup of tea” that I started to think about them in terms of a possible loveline. But it was the scene of the maggots that really solidify it and I told everyone “He likes her”. Not for one minute I thought Jung-won was going to go through with his priesthood plans after that.
Soon, Jung-won’s good deed of helping his friends get better jobs backfired on him spectacularly: Lee Ik-jun, MD and Certified Cupid, was trying to find ways to win Jang Gyeo-wool’s favor in order to get her assistance in the OR. And since Hospital Playlist spent the entire first season letting us know that Ik-jun always knows what’s up, naturally he realized Gyeo-wool had feelings for Jung-won. And that they might not be unrequited.
The journey was slow paced and frustrating at times. With each episode it was more and more clear that Jung-won was going out of his way to keep Gyeo-wool at arm’s length. He was resolute to keep on track with his decision to become a priest and I commend him for it... but this is when his smoking became a sign that things wouldn’t be going his way. For someone who wants to be pure and closer to the Lord, that’s a pretty nasty habit. One that to me was always a sign of doubt. Bottomline, it’s a sign of his humanity. Another sign? His headaches. He was suddenly overthinking things and questioning himself.
I’m not saying Jung-won wasn’t sincere about becoming a priest but if he had wanted to do it, a man with his kind of determination, would have got up and leave. Instead, when he talked with the priest helping him with his journey to Italy, Jung-won kept pushing the date of his departure over and over again. Always prioritizing his patients. This is when I knew that priesthood was a dream idealized from childhood and I believe that in some place of his subconscious he was choosing this path in order to runaway from the pain of not being able to help all the people he wants to help. Fact is that at some point in his life he had fallen in love with his profession as pediatrics surgeon but his soft personality put him through much pain, specially with the most difficult cases. He had given up on hobbies like photography because he couldn’t stand to see the photos of patients he lost, and almost never took time off to do any of the sports he loves so much. When he did it was to support a cause like breast cancer.
My point is that I understand why Jung-won wanted to quit: he is overworked, stressed and tired of having to carry on his shoulders an understaffed pediatrics department. Add to all that he was also running the Daddy Long Legs program by himself, getting calls from hospitals all over the country, and that he was in a passive aggressive fight with his Mother that didn’t want him to become a priest. The only down time he was getting was when he played the drums with the band and went out with his friends. But even then we saw him get up and help the people running the restaurant. Yeah, he clearly couldn’t go on like that. Something needed to change.
His first move was to delegate the Daddy Long Legs program to Song-hwa. A wonderful idea and the first hint that he was up to something. Like I mentioned before: Jung-won thinks several steps ahead. And this was also around the time he had his heart to heart talk with Ik-jun. At this point of the story, it was clear to Jung-won that his feelings for Gyeo-wool were not going dispel and that spending time with her, watching her work through her hardships and getting to understand her, were only making him fall deeper in love with her.
In return, Gyeo-wool spent that time growing as a doctor, learning from Ik-jun and Jung-won on how to talk to patients and their guardians. Something none of the other doctors bother to teach her before because they all considered her competent enough due to her OR technique. She shed off some of her shyness and started to show her warmth, became bolder and more proactive to try to find ways to connect with people around her. She went from eating alone to always share a meal with other residents and/or Dr. Bong. She sassed Min-ha on her make up, kinda told off Jun-wan and behaved like a cutie pie around her honorary big brother Ik-jun. Gyeo-wool remained steadfast and composed through every professional and personal hardship, and her bluntness was no longer a weakness but a strength. I honestly believe that by watching Gyeo-wool in action, Jung-won learned a thing or two about perseverance and not running away but facing your troubles.
I also think Ik-jun didn’t tell Gyeo-wool about Jung-won’s feelings for her because he didn’t believe it was his place. Sure, he had his fun trying to get reactions out Jung-won and giving his support to Gyeo-wool but, at the end of the day, he knew it was Jung-won and Gyeo-wool the ones that needed to take matters into their hands and have a proper talk about their feelings.
When Mama Rosa witnessed that sweet, sweet, moment all the shippers were waiting for between Jung-won and Gyeo-wool, she saw her last hope. A last-minute Hail Mary. And while I think Mama Rosa put Gyeo-wool in a terrible position by asking her to stop Jung-won from becoming a priest, this was the first time Gyeo-wool got any indication that maybe her love could be successful. That her heart and instincts were in the right place. And despite the uncertainty that followed her through the entire first season, she went for it. Like the complementary sprinter she is to Jung-won’s marathoner. Watch out Usain Bolt.
What none of us knew by the time episode 12 started is that Jung-won had already made the decision to stay after the family of a patient thanked him for going the extra mile for their daughter. The past months of being able to have the 99ers as a support system at Yulje and having Gyeo-wool around to help him with his work, made him felt happiness and a new sense of fulfillment. For the first time in years, he was feeling the weight on his shoulders was lighter and his good friend Song-hwa could see it in his face. She knew all along he was in a crossroads about his profession. That scene in Song-hwa’s office was significant because it was the first time he voiced out his feelings and to his surprise, just like Ik-jun, Song-hwa knew all about his Lady Winter.
So, when Christmas arrived and Gyeo-wool finally musters up the strength to go to his office, everything comes together. Even though she thinks Mama Rosa is wrong about him having feelings for her or that she knows it’s not her place to interfere with his decision of becoming a priest, she still can’t let go of him. Meanwhile, he had decided weeks ago to stay at Yulje, in no small part because of her, and remained silent. He held back. Again! And fret over how, when or what to say - just like he did in front of the ER’s door- because he didn’t know how to start the conversation. Why? Because the fool himself put them in a strictly professional relationship by refusing to have any kind of interaction outside the cases they shared or the hospital.
But in that final scene at his office, Jung-won sees a vulnerable Gyeo-wool. Suddenly her emotional resilience is nowhere to be found and she is wide open for him to witness how much he has put her through over the past nine months. Even worse he realizes that she knew all along about his plans and said nothing. Gyeo-wool’s bravery makes him see himself for the coward he has been for the past three weeks. For the first time in the whole season, he stops overthinking, FINALLY does as his heart is telling him and jumps into action. Jung-won answers Gyeo-wool’s confession and request with tender affection, longing looks -that communicate he too has been struggling-, kisses and a hug. He didn’t need to say anything. Like Gyeo-wool taught him: actions speak louder than words.

Author’s Note: Welcome to Chapter 8! Ooooh, this is a LONG BOI! I hope you all enjoy it!! ^_^
Tumblr media
Everything changed after that incident. A week has gone by, and I lock myself in my office. The lock that remained untouched was now being used. At first, Taehyung and Yoongi would always come by, just in case I left it unlocked. A small part of me wanted to open it, hold them and tell them I’m sorry because I ruined our friendship, our love… but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
I barely saw any of them. I’d eat in my office, stay there all day until it was bedtime, then I’d lock myself in the bedroom, let Seokjin in once he was ready, then lock it again and go to sleep. This was my routine. This was my fear winning.
One day, I ran into Namjoon and almost dropped to the ground in fear. My eyes were wide and I paled, backing away from him. He seemed so stunned by my reaction that he was frozen. I remember letting out a small noise in fear, booking it back to my office, heart pounding as I locked the door.
It’s been a week. A whole week of this routine, and I find myself losing more of who I am. I reverted back to my fear, back to my panic. I started thinking about the wedding…. Seokjin is the best man I’ve ever known, I knew I loved him, he was my soulmate, he had to be… but could I live my life like this…?
I was tired of being locked away, I was tired of being fearful. My hand instinctively went to my chest, where the long marks were, and I flinched. They had healed over for the most part, but they were still tender. In the back of my mind, I know Jungkook didn’t mean to. The shirt meant a lot to him and he thought I ruined it.
The shirt…. What was that shirt? Why was it so meaningful? I didn’t know anything about Jungkook…. Seokjin didn’t know much either, just that he found him at the shelter, sad and angry. It took Jungkook a very long time to get him to trust him, years in fact. What was that shirt…?
I’ve made a decision. I went to a search engine on my computer, typing in his name. Jeon Jungkook. I was surprised at the amount of articles pulled up. I read through them all, his anger and sadness making more and more sense. The shirt…. That’s why it was so meaningful….
I stood up, grabbing my purse and going to my office door. I had to look at the shirt. I carefully snuck downstairs, heart racing. I went into the laundry room, seeing the shirt lying on the laundry basket. I quickly grabbed it, opening it. My suspicions were correct. I had to fix this for him.
I snuck back out, walking towards the front door. The boys were all in the living room, talking. I caught a glimpse of Jungkook. He was sitting in the armchair, knees brought up to his chest and eyes filled with grief. My heart ached for him.
I quickly went out the door and to my car, hopping in and speeding away. Again, I caught a glimpse of the six boys running out, watching my car drive away, shock in their eyes. I tried to ignore my question of what they were thinking. I went to the local police station, parking and getting out, going into it and to the front desk.
“Can I help you?” A cheerful woman asked, smiling at me.
“Hi, I’m wondering if anyone here knew a Jungkook? I believe he was-” The lady frowned, cutting my off.
“Yes dear, let me take you to Officer Lee,” She said, standing and coming around to open a door for me. I quickly walked through, following her to an office where a large man sat.
“Officer Lee?” The lady asked, making him look up. “This woman is here to speak to you.”
“Hello, yes, please have a seat,” The man looked friendly, offering me the chair in front of him. The lady closed the door on the way out, and I became a bit embarrassed at my sudden appearance. “What can I help you with?”
“Well… um… sir,” I stumbled, before letting out a slow breath to relax myself. “My fiance has a hybrid that we don’t know much about. He’s had him for two or three years, and I’m wondering if you can tell me about him. His name is Jeon Jungkook? He’s a doberman hybrid.”
His eyes seemed to twinkle at the name, a little bit of joy, a bit of sadness. He sighed, nodding his head and rubbing his face.
“I haven’t heard his name in a very long time…. What would you like to know…?”
That’s when I learned every possible thing I could about Jungkook. How he was raised, who his previous owner was, what he did for a living, why he stopped…. I know everything. It all made sense after that.
“Thank you so much for your time,” I said, standing and shaking his hand.
“I appreciate it,” Officer Lee replied.
“Oh, before I go,” I started, taking out the ruined shirt from my purse. “do you happen to have anymore of these…? I know it’s old, but his was ruined and he’s heartbroken about it.”
“Actually, I believe we do, hold on.” The man stood up, walking out. After a few minutes, he came back with a couple of them. “Just in case another mishap happens.”
“Thank you,” I replied with a smile, about to leave.
“Miss?” He said, stopping me and having me turn to him. “He became very angry after the incident, I know that, but please… take care of him. He’s a good kid, and I know it’s still there.” I stared at him for a moment before nodding. I turned away, leaving the building to go home.
When I got there, Seokjin’s car was in the driveway. It was already late when I left, so the day is ending quickly. I pulled up, walking to the front door, shirts hiding in my bag. I went inside, seeing everyone in the living room. Taehyung, Yoongi, and Namjoon had been crying, Hoseok and Jimin trying to console them. Jungkook still sat in the same location, the same position, looking more upset. Seokjin was pacing, concern on his face.
“What happened?” I asked, worry growing in my stomach. All their eyes shot towards me, making me jump and look between them all. Seokjin ran over, throwing his arms around me. I frowned, bringing my hands up and tangling them in his hair.
“We all thought you left us,” Seokjin choked out. “Left me.”
“Oh, no,” I replied, furrow my brow in concern. “Honey, no, of course not. I would never leave unannounced, I would always talk to you about it first.”
“I’m sorry,” He choked, pulling away and wiping his tears. “I know, I’m sorry.”
“What were you doing?” Jimin squeaked out, carefully. My heart still raced, but I was more confident in myself, in them. I looked at Jungkook, whose eyes were on the ground.
“I went to get Jungkook a present,” I replied, making them all wide eyed. Jungkook looked up, raising an eyebrow curiously. “Here.” I took out the two shirts, walking over and holding them out. My skin crawled with nerves and panic, but my mind was clear.
Jungkook sniffed the air, wide eyed. He took the shirts carefully, pressing them to his chest and looking up at me. I bit my lip, nervous that he’ll get upset that I went without his permission.
“I know it’s probably not the same, but Officer Lee said these are the same shirts from when you were in the academy,” I said. Everyone in the room was stunned, the only two talking was myself and Jungkook.
“Officer Lee?” Jungkook croaked out. “You talked to him?”
“Yeah… um… I hope you don’t mind, but he told me a little about you,” I replied. I knelt in front of him, hesitating for only a moment before placing my hands on his knees.
“Y/n…” Seokjin whispered, worry laced in his voice.
“Kookie…” I whispered as he stared. “It wasn’t your fault….”
“Yes, it was,” Jungkook growled, tears flowing down his cheeks. “If it wasn’t for me, she’d be alive!”
“Jungkook,” I said, keeping my calm. “She wouldn’t have wanted you to be angry forever. She wouldn’t want you to blame yourself. She was a fighter, she was an officer.”
“Don’t talk like you knew her,” Jungkook growled, eyes sharp.
“You’re right, I didn’t… but Officer Lee told me about her. Told me how much she loved her job, she loved wearing her badge. How much she loved you,” I replied, staying in place, trying to remain calm. “You didn’t know there were two guys in the building… it’s not your fault.”
“Y/n, please,” Jungkook begged, his anger diminishing before my very eyes. Tears flowed down his cheeks, a quiet sob escaping his lips. “It was my fault, I should’ve smelled him.”
“Kookie…. I know it wasn’t your fault,” I said, firmly. “No one thinks it’s your fault.”
Jungkook burst into tears, trembling and covering his face. I slowly leaned up, wrapping my arms around him and gulping. My heart swelled as he wrapped his arms around me, crying into my shoulder. Even though this was a sad moment, one that I wish neither of us had to live through, this was the best progress I’ve made. This was, also, progress for Jungkook. He’s letting himself grieve, rather than be angry. I’m letting myself love, rather than fear. Progress.

Their BF Works Out When He’s Angry: Taeyong, Jaehyun, Ten, Mark
“I don’t know if you do male reader, but if you do...could you do a reaction with Mark, Jaehyun, Ten, and Taeyong where their bf works out aggressively when he’s in a bad mood/angry? Like what they think about it?”
A/N: I gotchu!!! Also, EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE!! I love you all. 😆✨✨
Taeyong:
Tumblr media
He hates to be so selfish, but he enjoys it so much. Whether it’s him you’re mad at or not, the sight of you doing anything makes his mouth water and also makes him fall in love with you all over again.
“What happened today?” He questioned, knowing work must have been terrible as you were doing sit ups at a dangerous pace.
“Don’t wanna talk about it.” You breathed out, hitting the floor once again.
“I wasn’t really giving you a choice.” He could see your frustration with him, but he didn’t care. “You may be the boss at work, but not here.” He teased, squatting beside you. You stopped slowly, catching your breath as your abs flexed.
“People are just irritating, and I can’t do anything about it. Now can I do my sit-ups in peace? Please?”
Taeyong puckered his lips out cutely, prompting a kiss from you. “Fine, but please don’t blow up. Also, you promised me we’d watch a movie tonight, so you owe me.”
“Another one for the jar.” You jested, even though you were still angry, continuing your exercise.
Jaehyun:
Tumblr media
Jaehyun could barely breathe as he walked into the empty gym, terrified to see your current state. He had fucked up bad, and you had just found out all about it from his one night stand in the flesh. He knew he would find you here, but he didn’t want to.
“Babe.” He whispered, flinching as he watched you attack the punching bag harder than he thought you could. You ignored him, continuing to punch the bag with nothing but venom in your eyes. “Y/N.” His voice cracked, even though he had no right to cry. He did this. He made you like this. “Y/N stop you’re going to break your wrist!” He screamed, blown away at how hard and fast you were punching the bag the closer he got to you. Jaehyun knew it was stupid to approach you right now while you were still fuming, but he needed you to say something. Even if it was you screaming at him, he needed it. He attempted to grab your wrist, but you moved back.
“What the fuck are you here for, Jaehyun?” You spat. It broke Jaehyun’s heart for you to call him by his first name and not Jae, or baby. “You made your choice, now let me be mad about it.”
“I’m here to apologize!”
“No you’re not! You’re here to cry and make me feel bad even though none of this was my fault.”
“Y/N I’m-
“I’m not gonna ask again.” You said in a serious tone, a solid tear rolling down your cheek. “Leave.”
“Okay.” He finally agreed, knowing he ruined the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
Ten:
Tumblr media
When Ten got into the shower, you weren’t home yet, but when he got out, he found you doing pull-ups on the door, clearly frustrated about something. This didn’t even surprise him as he was quite used to your coping mechanism.
“Tell me.” He questioned as he hung his towel and attempted to find some clothes to put on.
“Today was just not my day.” You huffed. “Too much to do in so little time, and everyone picking on me for every little thing.”
“Don’t worry about them, babe. Only worry about you. I know you did great.” He smacked your butt playfully, causing you to drop down from the door.
“I missed you today.” You confessed, kissing him gently.
“I missed you too.”
“Why are you being so nice?”
“Because you had a bad day.”
“Well in that case, I’m ready to go to bed.” You smiled, picking him up and throwing him on the bed. “I’m exhausted.”
“Oh, you must be fuming.”
“You know it.” You grinned in a childish manner before pulling him into your arms.
Mark:
Tumblr media
The two of you had just recently started going to the gym together, and he loved every minute of it. Tonight you were meeting there because you had practice, and when you walked in you had a different look on your face than usual.
“Is everything good?” he asked naturally, concerned about the absence of your smile.
“Perfect.” Was all you said, walking past him and going straight to the weights. You didn’t hesitate to put what you needed on the ends and start lifting quickly and like a robot. You didn’t even ask Mark to spot you.
“You can tell me, you know.”
“No need to burden you with my life.”
“It’s not a burden though. I like it when you talk to me.”
You lifted the weight back on the stand, taking a deep breath before sitting up. You patted the space infront of you so your boyfriend could sit across from you. “I’m sorry, I’m being rude.”
“It’s okay.” Mark assured you, grabbing your hands.
“Practice was terrible today. My voice completely gave out randomly, so all of the producers were angry. Then I couldn’t get the dance down so that was another thing for them to complain about. I also haven’t eaten anything today. Just not the best day to have.”
“Damn.” Mark whispered, caressing your backhand, “I’m sorry.”
“Not your fault. I just have this thing where I get angry and have to work out. It’s weird but it helps.”
“It’s actually not weird at all. I’d just rather you not pull a muscle because you’re going too hard. Also screw everyone at your company. Maybe if they stopped working you so hard, you could give them what they wanted.”
“Thanks babe~” you said in a dragging tone. “ Also, I’m a pro.” You said cockily. “There’s no such thing as pulling a muscle.”
“Yeah? Well you know what’s a better exercise than lifting?” He whispered, moving closer to you.
“What?” You smirked, peppering soft kisses on your boyfriends neck.
“Running on the treadmill.” He quickly got up, knowing you were about to chase him around the currently empty gym.
“Mark Lee you’re going to be the death of me!” It took you no time to catch him, pulling him into a deep kiss.
“Food first.” He giggled in between kisses.
“Fine. But you’re paying. Bad day privileges.”
“Whatever.” He rolled his eyes playfully, kissing you once more.

[2:31 PM]
“I don’t know, I kinda just find it interesting that you guys talk in the first place? You were really close to each other and if I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought–”
“Soo. Cut it out, we’re just acquaintances.”
You didn’t even bother looking up at Kyungsoo’s accusing eyes as you focused on scribbling the notes from the lecture. He realized that you weren’t going to give him the answer he was looking for and slumped in his seat. It took him exactly four seconds for him to spring back up and made it a point to come closer to your calm figure next to him.
“I heard there’s a party going on at his frat today–”
“There’s a party practically everyday, Soo.”
He narrowed his eyes at your interruption and continued to speak, ignoring your retort, “Are you planning on going?”
You let out a sigh and finally looked up at his eager eyes, settling your aching hand from taking notes down and turning slightly in your seat towards him. You didn’t know why he was being so curious all of the sudden, especially parties. Parties and Kyungsoo don’t mix. You knew he was trying to provoke a reaction out of you and weren’t letting up.
You gave him a look as you held eye contact with him, seeing just how curious he was being. A couple seconds passed between you two as the professor’s rambling voice reminded you of the notes you had to take. You turned back towards your paper and sighed, “Even if I planned on going, it wouldn’t be for him.”
“So you are going.”
Kyungsoo’s voice turned more accusatory if that was even possible. It made the guilt from not telling him of your relationship with Mark arise again but you quickly swallowed it down, ignoring the ball in your throat.
“Yes, Soo, I am going. I’m a sophomore in college, why can’t I go to frat parties? They’re fun”
“You never bothered going to parties before.”
“I did, you just never saw me going to one.”
It was true, even before meeting Mark, you went to frat parties with your other friends. You knew that Kyungsoo more often than not preferred to stay in to study so you never bothered asking him to go to one.
You didn’t realize that your tone slowly became more exasperated as Kyungsoo let out a heavy sigh, glare turning into a subtle pout. When you say subtle, you mean subtle. Kyungsoo was known for a lot of things, but adorable was not it, excluding towards you, his best friend.
“Y/N, I’m not trying to interrogate you, okay? It’s just that, you know that I don’t like Mark and I don’t want you to get hurt. Friendship or not”
Oh, there goes the guilt coming up again.
You slowly looked up to his eyes again, this time they were softer and you could see the protectiveness in them. You didn’t understand why he didn’t like Mark so much, whenever you tried bringing it up he would always change the subject. Assuming that it’s a sensitive topic, you never pressured him but your curiosity never faded. You felt the twinge of guilt hit your heart as the reminder that you’re lying to your best friend flashes through your mind right next to his pout.
You treaded lightly with your next words, “Soo… Underneath his little act, Mark’s a nice guy. Why not give him a chance?”
A shadow passed through his face as he chose to stay silent and wordlessly turned towards the front, successfully ending the conversation. Your shoulders sagged a little at his lack of response. In a perfect world, your best friend would approve and get along with the guy you liked. Sadly, that was not the case for you and your mood turned almost sour as the silence dragged on and enveloped the both of you.
No words were exchanged during the rest of the lecture and the slight tenseness was smothering you. You ached to break the tension but one look at Soo’s blank face made you turn back towards your notes until the lecture was finally over and both of you started packing up.
You smiled a little seeing how Kyungsoo still decided to wait for you even though he was peeved. He patiently waited at the corner of your desk as you packed up the last of your pens and highlighters, then hoisted your backpack onto your shoulder.
Loud chattering broke your focus from Soo as your eyes drifted towards the noise. Your heart skipped a beat as you saw Mark boisterously walk into the lecture hall, gaining the attention of others who immediately greeted the most popular boy on campus.
No matter where he went Mark always had the attention on him, mostly in a positive way. He outshined others with his personality, academics, and charm and that ultimately had boosted his confidence and how he interacted with others. He was like a star, drawing in others with merely just his presence and successfully capturing their attention.
Just like how he did with you.
Your eyes lingered on him as he strided up to his group, waiting for all of them to head out and grab lunch. You couldn’t take your eyes off on the way he shone, the way he grinned and talked with multiple people with ease. It was fascinating seeing him in his social zone.
Kyungsoo’s impatient, but gentle, shove broke you out of your trance and you wordlessly started walking down the stairs and towards the door. Your cheeks burned at the fact that Soo clearly caught you staring at Mark but you couldn’t help but take another glance.
There was a familiar tug at your heart as you saw a smirking Mark swing an arm around a girl’s shoulder, you recognized her as Jisoo, one of the girls in his designated group. The action could’ve been seen as friendly but the way Jisoo blushed and leaned her head on his shoulder proved otherwise.
It was a friendly gesture, you told yourself.
Just a friendly gesture.
Even as your eyes started looking a little more sad, you continued walking at the same pace, not wanting to draw attention and cause traffic. However, your efforts were futile as the guy walking in front of you suddenly stopped walking to greet Mark, making you smack in the middle of his back. For a second, your textbook dug harshly into his back making him yelp unnecessarily loud out of pain.
His whole body indicated heavy annoyance as he was prepared to turn around and snap at you for not paying attention (Even though it was his fault for stopping out of nowhere). Before he noticed you though, Mark clapped him on the shoulder and greeted him loudly, shifting the boy’s attention from the pain to the man of the hour (or year).
You didn’t get a chance to see Mark as Kyungsoo swiftly maneuvered you around their interaction and towards your escape from the wild beast. You internally thanked Kyungsoo for thinking ahead of you but you longed to look at the boy that you were infatuated with. Kyungsoo showed no signs of stopping so right before walking out, you peered over your shoulder to catch a glimpse of him. You blushed yet again as you caught Mark already looking at you and smiling softly in your direction. Upon noticing your attention, his smile turned into a grin as he dropped his left eye into a wink then turned back to his friends. Just from that little acknowledgment, your body heated up in happiness and you smiled softly to yourself. Not being able to interact him in public made the small gestures mean even more to you. You knew it was borderline dangerous but Mark made feeling things so easy that you found yourself not caring that you were digging your own hole deeper and deeper.
He made falling in love too easy.
“...party with you.”
Kyungsoo’s voice startled you from your train of thought as you looked up at him as both of you made your way to the campus dining hall.
“Sorry, what did you say?”
Kyungsoo’s eyes turned towards you and for the first time in a while, you couldn’t read his expression. It was like a mix between comprehension and worry, making you feel uneased underneath his gaze.
“I said, I’m going to the party with you.”
Surprise was shown on your face as you opened your mouth to question him, though he beat you to your own question.
“As you said, I’m a sophomore, why can’t I enjoy my college life while I can and go to a frat party to have fun?”
You narrowed your eyes at his retort and reference to your previous words. It felt sketchy, Kyungsoo wanting to go to a party, it made the uneasiness settle even deeper. He continued staring straight ahead as your skepticalness was showing so long as he was deliberately avoiding eye contact.
After a couple of seconds, it didn’t make you feel any better when he followed up with, “Besides, I’m your best friend, we should be partying together, don’t you think so?”
NOV. 15, 2018
[11:07 PM]
As you entered the bass filled house, the smell of alcohol mixed with pineapple flavoured vape immediately hit your nose. Your group of friends surrounding you erupted in cheers at the lively atmosphere and bee-lined for the dance floor, pulling along your laughing figure as a familiar song came on and your body danced to the beat.
You were in the middle of the dance floor as beams of light kept hitting everyone at different angles. Everyone besides you were either swaying side to side or getting it down with their partners. At first you were a bit stiff and nervous, seeing as this was your (along with your friends) first frat party, you wanted to watch yourself. But naturally, your body started moving along to the music and it made you feel less tense and anxious, not even five minutes passed before your skin started prickling with sweat and your heart was beating with adrenaline. You grinned at your friends having the time of their lives and motioned to them that you were going to the kitchen for a drink, expecting them to follow along.
Halfway towards the kitchen, you turned back and realized that your friends were in fact not following you and you were by yourself. Your body stiffened with nervousness and your confidence dwindled a bit as the area around suddenly became so much smaller. Pushing your nervousness aside, you continued your trek in getting a drink because you were at the point of dehydration where you could feel yourself passing out any minute.
Entering the kitchen, you scrunch your nose in disgust at the sight of at least three couples heavily making out. One pair was going at it in front of the fridge, where you assume the drinks would be. You were about to tap on the guy’s shoulder when his partner suddenly flipped them around and aggressively attacked his neck. Your eyes widened in slight shock and that’s when you decided to pivot on your heel and out into the hallway again.
Maybe there was a water cooler somewhere else, you thought. You’d go through hell and back before interrupting a couple on the verge of practically doing the nasties right then and there in the kitchen.
The dim lighting in the house was obscuring your vision as you made your way around the house. You didn’t notice a sudden hand reaching out and tugging your wrist into a separate room. You yelped in surprise as the door slammed shut and whipped around in defense mode, heart going a hundred miles per hour.
Your eyes met with one of your friends that you came to the party with, body relaxing just a tiny bit as you gave Eun-ji a questioning gaze. You noticed her eyes were a bit hazy as she was leaning more than she should on a boy standing next to her.
“Y/N! We were about to play a game and I saw you walking by! C’mon, we need one more girl playing.” Eun-ji didn’t give you a chance to reply as she dragged you towards the circle of people in the middle, plopping you down on the couch right next to her. You grabbed both her shoulders before she could pull away and looked into her eyes in worry. Her face was extremely flushed as she playfully pushed away your hands despite your protests.
Your eyes darted to the boy she was leaning on before and saw him passing a blunt to her lips. She graciously took in a breath and giggled at your worried expression.
“Y/N I’m fine! Loosen up a little, here! By the way, this is Johnny.”
She passed you a red solo cup and you winced at the amount of vodka sloshing around in it. You’ve drank before but with your friend clearly intoxicated, you didn’t want to risk being out of it too in case something happened.
You also just felt extremely uncomfortable in this setting and it was putting off your mood to party.
Eun-ji kept on giggling as her attention focused on the boy you supposed was Johnny as he smirked at her attention and started whispering in her ear, with her shamelessly responding to his flirtatious actions and feeling around his chest.
You took a moment to finally scan your surroundings, the bass from the living room was slightly muffled from the closed door and there was a machine in the corner that caused beams of lights to bounce off the walls that mimicked the ones in the living room. There were, you estimated, 15 people scattered in the room, with an equal ratio of girls to guys.
That was when you recognized one by one that the guys in the room were in fact the group of boys hosting said party you were in. You didn’t know them too well but from what you’ve heard, they never failed to throw the biggest parties and have quite the experience with girls, especially Mark, the guy who ran the whole frat. You thought you’ve never seen any of them before but a couple faces you recognized, Donghyuck and maybe, what was it, Jeno? Most of them were paired up with another girl and were flirting up a storm, except for one black haired boy that stood up and started gathering everyone’s attention.
You did a double-take as even in the poor lighting you could tell the guy was extremely attractive. He was clad in a black, floral button up with multiple necklaces hung around his neck, hair parted slightly to the side and swept in with a comma look. You could tell he was the most sobered up one out of everyone as his eyes darted around with clear intent and no haziness detected.
Well, maybe a little but you were sure it was from the adrenaline.
He was looking around the room and when his eyes landed on you, you took a sharp breath in. His eyes were intensely looking into yours and even from far-away, you saw that they were glittering and pulling you into their abyss. They were brown, very dark brown, and almost intrusive-like when he eyed you curiously. It was like the whole room stopped and it was just you two there, endlessly staring into each other’s orbs.
You could tell he was equally as affected as you were when he blinked out of his trance and shook his head a bit to gather his thoughts. He followed up with a smirk that made your heart skip a beat and proceeded to turn to the others. You looked around and saw that none of them noticed your little moment and was rather focused on their partner of the night. Attention was immediately drawn to him naturally as he held an air of confidence and poise, the other girls were swooning over him before he even talked and you wondered just who was this guy that held so much power.
“Okay, let’s all gather in a circle and we’ll start”
His voice was husky and you shivered in your spot, heart beating faster and faster when he walked up to the spot next to you and sat down near your feet on the floor. You could only see his hair from your angle and you had to refrain from running your hands through it as it softly bounced up and down when he settled into his spot.
Your attention shifted to a boy across the room who was chugging a half empty bottle down his throat. Everyone around him was cheering as he finished the bottle within seconds and placed it in the middle of the circle. His eyes were wild with intoxication as he grabbed his own solo cup from a table nearby.
“Hey guys, I’m Yuta and before everyone starts making out, let’s all take a shot!”
Bottle? Circle? Making out?
Everyone cheered and raised their cups up and that was when your mind put everything together and realized you stumbled yourself into a game of 7 minutes in heaven. You whipped your head to Eun-ji who pulled you into the game in the first place and saw her happily taking her shot instead, not noticing your glare.
“And I mean, everyone.” Yuta’s voice caught your attention as he made eye contact with you and winked before knocking back his own cup, everyone clearly taking more than one shot.
You looked around nervously as the others were finishing up with their cups and Yuta started going around with a bottle to refill them back up. It’s just a little shot, you thought. Your hands started getting more and more clammy the closer Yuta got to you. Along the chain of refilling cups, Johnny didn’t finish his shot in time which made Yuta pour more than what was in there before, cheering loudly as Johnny was encouraged to chug more and more.
You kept staring at the liquid in the cup, contemplating why you were here in the first place. You felt anxious, pressured, and all things bad. You should’ve known you had to drink at some point and you dreaded the burning feeling you would feel in your throat–
You blinked for one second and realized that you were no longer clenching your cup, feeling someone swiftly snatch it out of your hands.Your eyebrows scrunched in confusion as you looked to your left and saw that the black haired boy next to you grabbed your nearly full cup and shoved his empty one into your hands. He knocked your cup back with ease and experience, not wincing at all at the bitter taste and swiped a lime from a nearby table to suck on just in time for Yuta to come by and refill your cup.
“Took you long enough, princess. Here’s for round two” Yuta winked at you yet again and took the liberty of refiling the cup in your hands back up to the top, repeating the action to the boy next to you.
Yuta moved onto the next person in line as it took you a moment to comprehend what was just happened. The boy next to you just drank for you. He wordlessly took your cup and drank for you when he didn’t even know you. A smile tugged at your lips as your heart warmed at such a genuine action that you couldn’t help but glance at him again.
His eyes were already on yours when you turned and it made your heart skip a beat again. (Damn Y/N, get it together!) Maybe it was the dimmed lights or you were second-hand high but your mind couldn’t help but bring its walls down one by one the longer you stared at him. He was leaning back against the adjacent couch and rested his head in the palm of his hand, lazily drinking the sight of you in and grinning. You were about to ask for his name when Donghyuck(?) interrupted you by going in the middle and explaining the rules of the game.
“Okay, ladies and gents, here’s how it's going down. We’re gonna spin the bottle twice and whoever it lands on gets to have their lucky time in the room out that door.” He stopped and pointed to one of the doors that you assumed lead to another bedroom. He turned back towards the group with a grin, “A twist though! After the bottle is done being spun, the one who got picked first gets to choose whether or not they want to have their 7 minutes in heaven or not. If yes then you have to go in! No excuses, or else whoever refuses has to finish this entire bottle.” Donghyuck smirked and held up the bottle that was used to refill all the cups and you saw that there was well over half left in it.
Your mouth dried at the thought of drinking the rest of it. The chances of you getting picked was low, right? And even then, as long as you were picked first, then it didn’t matter because you would choose no.
Your eyes caught the attention from another boy across the circle. He was staring at you but it wasn’t like the gaze that the boy next to you had, it was sleazy as his eyes raked up and down your figure in an extremely unsettling way. He licked his lips and sent an unflattering wink across the room that had you looking down in embarrassment and discomfort.
“Let’s start!” Donghyuck spun the bottle and the game had officially begun. One by one, people were being chosen by the bottle and so far no one has said no. The first half hour consisted of couples coming out the room together with flustered faces as the sexual tension grew stronger by the minute. Everyone was excited when the bottle landed on them as you assumed it was because everyone in the circle was actually really attractive.
You, on the other hand was just not feeling it. You wanted to have a good time with your friends, not participate in some dumb kissing game that was only an exchange of germs everywhere.
The bottle was spun again as it slowly landed on a girl that you recognized to be a classmate, Jisoo. She was extremely pretty and smiled at everyone as she leaned forward to spin the bottle again, eyes lingering solely on the boy next to you.
You admit that your heart sunk a bit when it actually landed on the boy who has been on your mind for the past hour or so. Jisoo squealed delightfully as she wasted no time in standing up and holding a hand out for him to reach for.
Your heart sunk yet again when you saw him smirk and reach for her fingers. She shamelessly giggled at him as she dragged him towards the room that has been hastily occupied by couple after couple. The last thing you saw before the door closed was Jisoo flinging herself at the boy and attaching her mouth against his. He didn’t hesitate in reciprocating as the door slammed shut and everyone was whooping from outside.
You can’t say that you weren’t disappointed. Hell, you didn’t even know the guy but you thought that there was something spoken between the eye contacts both of you exchanged. Maybe it was just in your mind though, maybe he did that with all the girls he comes across with just to pull them in. You should’ve known better than to actually expect something from a frat boy at a frat party. You couldn’t help it though when your mind kept reeling back to his warm, beautiful, captivating eyes.
7 minutes felt the longest when finally the door opened up and the cheers were heard again as the couple stepped out. The boy’s hair was clearly ruffled and messed with as Jisoo looked even more flustered than ever. Both of them had slightly bruised lips as Jisoo giggled and reached for his hand to hold. It surprised the both of you when he simply ignored her and bee-lined to his spot next to you again, smirking at everyone except for her as she wordlessly took her seat, eyes glancing almost desperately at the boy for eye contact.
You didn’t know what to think, from your angle, you saw many hickies dotting around his jawline so you thought he had enjoyed it. Why did he ignore her like that? A bit of an asshole move if you asked yourself.
Almost as if he could hear you, he turned his heads towards you and raised an eyebrow.
“What’s an asshole move?”
You gasped quietly and brought your hands up to your mouth, realizing that you were voicing the last bit of your thoughts out loud. You stammered out a “nothing” before facing forward and ignoring his prying eyes on the side of your face.
“Okay! Last one before we end this game and go back out to party!” Donghyuck exclaimed. “Mark, would you do the honors?”
Mark?
The black haired boy reached forward and spun the bottle and your eyes widened. Mark? Head of frat boy Mark? Player Mark? The one that Soo hates Mark? The boy who you were completely infatuated with for the past hour?
Your confused state almost made you miss the fact that the bottle landed on him again and people started cheering for him. He laughed before spinning the bottle again and you shivered at the sound of his deep, breathy laugh.
You were staring at the blue and purple spots on his neck when another round of cheering caused you to look up. You blinked as everyone was staring at you with wide smiles and choruses of “Okay Mark, get it!” echoed around the room. Your eyes darted to the bottle and indeed, it has landed on you.
“No– I, uh, I don’t–” You frantically gestured no with your hands as you felt someone grab them while you were flailing about. Your head whipped to Mark as he pulled up off the couch and lead you inside the room. Your mind was reeling with what was happening and all of the sudden the door closed and you were standing between Mark’s legs as he sat on the bed.
No, you guys weren’t kissing. He was simply staring at you while resting his hands on your hips. Your hands were fidgeting around, not knowing where to place them when Mark grabbed both of them to rest around his neck, then settled back on his spot on your hips again.
In this moment, it felt right. He felt like a missing puzzle piece to your body, fitting in the right places but not in an unsettling way. It was comfortable and his gaze on you made your body burn hot as you subconsciously fiddled with the hair at the nape of his neck.
He was holding your eyes captive again. Why did he have such a strong effect on you?
“We don’t have to do anything, if that’s what you’re wondering.”
Your ears perked up at his deep yet soft words. It was quiet between the two of you, the music in the background barely being heard.
“Then why did you bring me in here? You could’ve said no if you knew I wasn’t going to do anything.”
He stared at you as you spoke, not answering your question but just staring. You thought he was offended so you began pulling away but his grip on your hips tightened and pulled you closer.
“As cheesy as it sounds. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to just stare at you.”
Your cheeks heated up as you shyly looked down. Your thoughts were racing at his statement. So he felt the same way as you? Why was he being so awfully sweet? He didn’t like that you looked away so he used one of his hands to lift your chin up, effectively capturing your gaze again.
“There’s just something about you. If it were up to me, I could just stare at you all day.”
You stared at his lips as he spoke, his tone sounded so sincere, so genuine that you couldn’t help the smile that graced your face as his eyes lighted up at the sight of your beautiful smile, it was breathtaking to him.
He was being so sweet, so unlike his actions towards Jisoo just minutes before. Which reminded you as you darted your eyes towards his neck and saw the hickies littering his skin. You gently brushed your fingers against the marks as you felt goosebumps arise after your touch.
“Very unexpected for the Mark Lee to say, wouldn’t you think so?”
“So you’ve heard about me?” His ears perked up at your question, eyebrows also raising in question. “I hope all good things.”
“Hmm, it depends on how you look at it.” You playfully responded as his lips turned up into a knowing grin. He knew of reputation and clearly wasn’t ashamed of it, in fact it almost seemed as if he embraced it. “Which makes me wonder if you’re just all talk or do you actually mean the things you say.”
His eyes lingered on you as you spoke, like he’s mesmerized by your voice. “Believe me love, when I say that I can’t stop looking at you even if I tried to. I wouldn’t even mind a kiss or two.”
His grin was wide as he said those words and it made you question his intentions again. You guessed your face contorted with disgust as he let out a hearty laugh at your expression.
“I’m just kidding baby, don’t take it so seriously.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if you weren’t, seeing as you’re excellent with the ladies.”
“But you feel different.”
His words took you by surprise as he said them seriously without hesitation. Your heart stuttered at his next words, “I feel so many things when I look at you. It’s like I’m floating high above the ground but at the same time, I’m grounded.” He whispered the words into existence as he tucked a strand of loose hair behind your ear. “I don’t even know you and you make me feel this way. Crazy, right?”
Crazy enough that you felt the exact same way with him. Though, you didn’t voice this out loud. You stared at his glinting eyes, his eyes that showed no signs of joking and just pure adoration. From the bruised lips to the high cheekbones that showed when he smiled, he was breathtaking in every way possible and you couldn’t look away. His black hair melded into the darkness as you finally reached up to run your fingers through it. He sighed in content as his whole being relaxed in your arms and the moment was so peaceful, you would give anything to not break it.
Sadly enough, a round of knocks interrupted your moment as Donghyuck’s impatient voice shouted through the door, “Hey! Your 7 minutes passed like 5 minutes ago, quit your nasties and come out so we can all have a final shot!”
You pouted at the moment broken as you unwillingly pulled away from Mark as he stood up from his spot. His eyes looked a little hazed out of nowhere and he seemed discontent to move away.
Nevertheless, he gave you a smile and said, “I’ll drink your shot if you’d like.”
You chuckled, “No thanks, I’ll just leave before he can give me one.”
“Like that’ll work.” He playfully rolled his eyes as you smiled at his teasing tone. “I didn’t even get a thank you.”
Maybe it was because the moment was too perfect that you didn’t want to break the chemistry both of you had, or maybe it was the fact that he was being so unlike all the rumors you heard of him. You knew for a fact that it wasn’t the alcohol talking since you didn’t drink at all but you really weren’t sure what compelled you to reach up on your tiptoes and press a soft kiss to his lips.
He froze at your action as his whole body stiffened at the unexpected contact. It wasn’t a crazy or intrusive kiss but it had the effect of seeing stars and fireworks behind your eyes. It was a small, slight peck compared to the aggressive one Jisoo had delivered before that you chuckled a bit at his confusion of such an innocent kiss. You pulled away with a smile to catch him still closing his eyes and you internally cooed at such an adorable sight.
“Thank you, Mark” You whispered as you saw a visible shiver run through his body at the sound of your voice. You wholeheartedly smiled before turning towards the door.
You were about twist open the knob before he tugged you back by the wrist and frantically spoke out, breathlessly, “Wait, I didn’t even get your name?”
You looked back and he seemed so adorable and flustered in the moment that you couldn’t believe that this man was the head of his frat. His walls were down as his eyes displayed a sort of desperateness to it and you knew this feeling was unfamiliar to him.
“Maybe I’ll tell you the next time we talk.” You smiled after your response and just as you saw the protests coming out of his mouth, you slipped out of the door and away from the prying questions from the others. You felt Jisoo’s eyes lingering on you as you walked towards the door. Ignoring the other’s protests from walking out on them, you exited and went back into the bass filled living room.
Throughout the whole night and even before the both of you fell asleep, a smile was set on both yours and Mark’s face as you longed to see one another again, to shamelessly fall in each other’s abyss without a care in the world.

Tempted to do another prompt request
Don’t know why, just curious if anyone wanted to request some prompts. Got a compilation of lists i’ve seen on here before I glance through randomly sometimes for ideas for my other rambles and series.
Mostly do
Hobbit/LotR - Modern au/regular
Marvel - Mostly Loki w/ others thrown in
Celebs - Richard Armitage, Lee Pace w/ Hobbit cast thrown in, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Holland w/ various Marvel actors thrown in
You can add in scenarios or random items or locations if you like too.
It can also be y/n style if you want, otherwise i’ll probably use a variant of my usual oc to put it all together. :D
Prompt List

20 “You can’t just turn into a bat and fly away when you don’t want to deal with things!” “Watch me!”
21 “Wait, you’re a superhero?” “How do you not know? My face is literally on the news on a weekly basis.” “I’m in grad school. I won’t have time to follow popular media until I finish my thesis. You’re lucky I’ve carved out some non-existent free time to date you.”
22 “I’m just really tired of watching you get thrown off the tops of buildings”

31 “Well, what can I say? I’m a badass.”
32 “Define normal.”

39 “She’s crazy. And just when you think you’ve reached the bottom of her craziness, there’s a crazy underground garage.”

41 “My middle finger salutes you.”
42 “This is a whole new level of moronic, even for you.”

60 “I’m afraid I’ve been thinking…” “A dangerous pastime.”
61 “I’d explain it to you, but you’re brain would explode.”
62 “Wow, there’s a big surprise. I think I’m going to have a heart attack and die from surprise.”
63 “I’m gonna hit you so hard, it’ll make you ancestors dizzy.”

81 “You’re insane, but you might also be brilliant.”
82 “What you call insanity, I call inspiration.”
83 “Sometimes I question my sanity. Occasionally it replies.”
84 “Why should we date?” “Because we are attracted to each other.” “I am attracted to pie, but I do not feel the need to date pie.”
85 “Why does everyone assume the worst of me.” “It saves time.”

97 “Obviously you have mistaken me for somebody who gives a shit.”
98 “How’s life treating you?” “Like I ran over it’s dog.”
99 “Rule number one: don’t bother sucking up. I already hate you, that’s not going to change.”
100 “Oh God, we’re not gonna have to hug or anything, are we.”
101 “I’m so glad you could come.” “Cut the crap. Give me a drink.”
102 “You make no sense to me.” “Welcome to my life.”
103 “Have fun being a big deal.” “I will.”
104 “Damn, you’re strong for a little thing.”
105 “It’s called thinking. Go with it.”
106 “I made a new friend today.” “Real or imaginary?” “Imaginary.”
107 “Where have you been all my life?” “Hiding from you.”
108 “I’m getting real bored and impatient. I don’t do bored and impatient.”
109 “The girl is strange no question.”

111 “I know most people don’t like me; I don’t care, I don’t like most people.”
112 “You are a very strange person.” “Well, thanks for noticing.”
113 “I can tell that you think what you’re saying is funny, but… no.”
114 “I didn’t steal it. I permanently borrowed it.”
115 “I’m not shy. I’m just examining my prey.”
116 “If you pull out my earphones, I will pull out your lungs.”
117 “I don’t dislike you, I nothing you.”
118 “Are you crying? No, I’m impersonating a fountain.”
120 “You’re kinda anti-social, you know that?”
121 “I feel like a freakin’ soccer mom.”
122 “I’m just gonna pack up and go straight to hell now.”
123 “My ex? Yeah, I’d still hit that. Except this time it would be with a car or baseball bat.”
124 “She’s complicated like the DaVinci code, you know but harder to crack.”
125 “And just like everything else we do around here, it’s about to get weirder.”
126 “Such big evil in such a little thing.”
127 “Why do I still like you, knowing you’re a total asshole?”
128 “What does not kill you will likely try again.”
129 “Oh honey, I would but… I don’t want to.”
130 “And hello to you too… little homewrecker.”
131 “I’m gonna make you wish you were dead.”
132 “I don’t need anger management. I need people to stop pissing me off.”
133 “What doesn’t kill me might make me kill you.”
134 “In another life, I think I was in a mental institution.”
135 “I’m not crazy. I’m just interesting.”
136 “Don’t make me pop your ten grand sand bags honey.”
137 “This is fun.” “Seriously, we’re trying to hide a body.”
138 “If you touch my food, I’ll have no choice but to hurt you.”
139 “I found this cat. It doesn’t matter how exactly I found it, but we’re keeping it.”
140 “When I was a child, I wanted to be a fire hydrant because I wanted to help people. Well, it was a real let down when my mother told me that being an inanimate object wasn’t a valid option.”
141 “There’s not a single day in my life when I haven’t been thoroughly humiliated and it’s too late to change now.”
142 “Unfortunately, my tears of joy and tears of sadness are not so easy to tell apart.”
143 “Sex dream? About you? Nah…it was about, uh, my uncle!”
144 “How did I break my leg? Well, it’s a long story.”
145 “The punch was out of love. For myself.”
146 “I can 100 percent fall down those stairs without getting hurt.”
147 “You act like I’ve never been lost in a foreign country before.”

149 “I did not eat the cookies. I’ve never even seen a cookie in my life.”
150 “Closets are my mortal enemy. And snakes.”
151 “I am wearing your clothes but not for the reason you think I am.”
152 “I’m trapped under the bed again.” “What do you mean ‘again’?”
153 “I shouldn’t have to tell you not to eat that.”
154 “I’m no longer permitted to enter the city zoo because I ‘allegedly’ don’t understand boundaries.”
155 “I didn’t eat your chocolate bar–Oh, I have chocolate on my face? In that case, it attacked me.”
156 “They told me not to take that selfie in the emergency room but now I have a great profile pic for Halloween!”
157 “I’m not saying I’d fight a child, I’m merely saying my legs are longer, my arms are stronger, and my brain is superior.”
158 “I’ve never been to Japan until today, but I have no idea how I got here.”
159 “We rock, paper, scissors-ed it and I played fire. I won in principle, but lost in morality.”
160 “Trains are fun until you’re fighting the conductor.”
161 “The first time I saw the ocean I cried, but that’s mostly because I was choking on seawater.”
162 “There is no sign in the library that says no birds so how was I to know.”
163 “The chokehold was out of love. Why can’t you see that?”
164 “I know the police.” “What? You know all the police?” “Well, it’s more like they know me.”
165 “I thought I could do parkour, nay, believed but my faith is weak and my body weaker.”
166 “I only got stuck in a baby swing once. The other two times I managed to get myself out before the fire department arrived.”
167 “Elbows and knees. That’s the fight club motto.” “No, it’s really not.”
168 “I don’t get lost. I take the long way.”
169 “There’s a snake in my boot. No, I’m serious. Why is there a snake in my boot?”
170 “My doctor told me chocolate syrup is not an actual beverage. The more you know, huh?”
171 “I don’t fall in love. I faceplant.”
172 “If you try to high five a police officer, they will taze you.”
173 “I can do the splits but not on purpose.”
174 “I am the ruler of pigeons now. I didn’t know I was even a candidate, but here we are.”
175 “To be fair, I’m surprised I didn’t break more fingers.”
176 “Who knew bear traps were that common?”
177 “I will run away with you.”
178 “I am never coming back.”
179 “I forget time and space when I’m with you.”
180 “I don’t belong in your universe.”
181 “I’m dynamite ready to explode.”
182 “I don’t know where you’ve gone. It’s like you aren’t here anymore.”
183 “We are in this together – for better or for worse, do you hear me? I’m not giving up that easily.”
184 “You don’t even have to hold me, and I still feel safe with you.”
187 “Everything you think I need isn’t what I need. What I need is you.”
188 “I always come back to you.”
189 “You have to keep fighting.”
191 “I’m begging you. Please.”
192 “I need you to let me all the way in.”
193 “This was all just a game to you… wasn’t it?”
194 “I will give you heaven and I will give you hell.”
195 “Please, be gentle with me. I’ll break if you aren’t careful enough.”
196 “I promise I’ll be tender.”
197 “I can assure you that you are safe here… with me.”
198 “It is my duty to take care of you, so stop forcing me away.”
199 “Never trust a man whose smile steals the breath right from your lungs.”
200 “Take it – I don’t care. Take it all!”
201 “I’ll feel much better if you let me walk you home.”
202 “You make me feel things that I’m not supposed to feel. Why? Why do you have this control over me? You’ve taken over most of my thoughts. It’s infuriating.”
203 “Would you look at that? Anger does fuel me.”
204 “I don’t even remember the last time I got a decent amount of sleep. I’m hallucinating things, I can’t focus for more than five minutes… I’m going crazy.”
205 “You were always beside me.”
206 “What happened to us? To you? I miss it.”
207 “There is no good in goodbye.”
208 “Say it again.”
209 “You look happy. I’m sorry I couldn’t be the reason for it.”
210 “Sometimes we get hurt and we just have to find a way to overcome it, and sometimes… sometimes it’s not enough to heal the wounds.”
211 “You’ll understand. You have to.”
212 “You lit a fire in my veins ever since the first time we held hands.”
213 “Don’t stop.”
215 “I don’t care! I don’t!”
216 “There are times I can drink the pain away, but this time it’s become impossible.”
217 “This pain… it’s still fresh. Give me time.”
218 “Your memory will burn like a fire.”
219 “It just keeps spreading and spreading and spreading and I can’t stop it.”
220 “I won’t ever forget you.”
221 “I think I’m losing myself, and I don’t know if I can ever come back from this.”
222 “I prefer being alone.”
223 “To see you smile, I would do anything.”
224 “If you’re reading this then that means… that means I didn’t make it. I’m sorry.”
225 “Fuck, I wish I could give you one more kiss, to feel your warmth, to see you smile… I miss you so much.”
226 “Don’t go too far, alright? I wanna be able to catch up to you, just give me time.”
227 “I’m sorry I couldn’t be there.”
228 “You stood up for me.”
229 “You keep giving me excuses, what’s your problem?”
230 “Always be kind.”
231 “You’re so warm.”
232 “Oh my god! That was so not funny. These are fake tears, and that was sarcasm.”
233 “Damn damn diggity damn.”
234 “Daddy.”
235 “Run me over with your car.”
236 “Ew. Emotions.”
237 “I’m sorry, was I supposed to laugh?”
238 “Stab me. No, seriously. Stab me.”
239 “That’s so stupid. Please, do it again.”
240 “But I’m not her.”
241 “I need you to see yourself as I do.”
242 “Breathe.”
243 “What are you running from? Why are you so scared?”
244 “Let’s do something spontaneous!”
245 “I can still feel every little kiss you pressed to my cheek.”
246 “I need to be closer to you.”
247 “It’s feels like I’m suffocating.”
248 “This will be the last time you lie to me.”
249 “You know it’s not like that.”
250 “How could you think this wouldn’t hurt me?”
251 “You’re never going to be the same after this.”
252 “I just think it’d be best if we never met.”
253 “I can’t believe you would even think to leave me like this.”
254 “You never loved me, did you?”
255 “It didn’t have to be like this, but now you’ve ruined everything.”
256 “I hope you’re happy.”
257 “If you had have kept your mouth shut, then he’d still- he’d still be here!”
258 “What did you want once this was all through? Tell me!”
259 “Now I have to deal with the consequences of your actions. Thanks, it means a lot.”
260 “You could’ve- could’ve stayed. You could’ve helped me fix things.”
261 “I knew she’d never change, she was too stubborn, too similar to me.”
262 “This isn’t going to be fixed. You’ve ruined this for good now.”
263 “I hope I’m not put in the same part of hell as you.”
264 “When did you think you could hurt me again? Today? Tomorrow?”
265 “You’re back in my life and I want to die again.”
266 “You only ever brought me pain and I’m sick of it.”
267 “I hope you got what you wanted.”
268 “You made me miserable and I still loved you.”
269 “When you die, I’ll be the first to dance on your grave.”
270 “Don’t underestimate me, I have more power than you can even comprehend.”
271 “If only you knew what you’d brought upon yourself.”
272 “We’re never going to have a happy ending, just remember that.”
273 “Everytime something goes well, I momentarily forget how much I despise you.”
274 “Don’t pretend like you’re not happy to see me like this.”
275 “There is nothing worse than seeing you get what you want.”
276 “Your mind must be a horrible place.”
277 “You can cut me, bruise me and skin me alive, but you will not take her from me.”
278 “How is it that we always end up in this predicament?”
279 “I want to wipe that grin of your face with my sword, but my mother taught me to play nicely.”
280 “Did anyone ever tell you how pathetic you are? It’s incredible how low my standards are for you.”
281 “Ah, well if you want them back alive, I suggest you lay down your own life.”
282 “Don’t be ‘smart’. The battlefield is no place for Math Scholars.”
283 “You shouldn’t have come. You can’t be-”
284 “Stop talking or tomorrow won’t come.”
285 “Hand me the gun and I’ll kill him myself.”
286 “I shouldn’t care for your life, but I’m starting to and it’s becoming an inconvenience.”
287 “If you live to see her, please send my best regards and this box of her father’s ashes.”
288 “It would’ve been nice to get to know you better, but I’m afraid I don’t care.”
289 “I can’t help but think you’re a terrible person.”
290 “Seeing your face has unconventionally made me want to die. I wasn’t quite prepared for this feeling.”
291 “You could have loved me, I’m quite good at seducing, but you’re actually vile.”
292 “I hope I see you in a bodybag sometime.”
293 “Let’s pretend you didn’t cheat on me with my sister and be good people for a few minutes.”
294 “We should probably stop talking forever.”
295 “If I hated you anymore, I think I’d probably be crowned as satan’s right-hand man.”
296 “To say I ‘tolerate you’ is a vast overstatement.”
297 “You broke her heart and came back for more, you bastard.”
298 “This isn’t fifth grade, this is a courtroom, you whore.”
299 “I think you’d be the perfect match for my ex-husband. He loved to sleep with multiple people.”
300 “I’m not coming home, don’t look for me.”
301 “Time was always a measurement of this relationship and we finally ran out.”
302 “Please don’t look at me with such hatred.”
303 “I could’ve died and you couldn’t have cared less.”
304 “Just get out. I- I don’t want you hear, just leave.”
305 “You’re not the same person I married, don’t tell me I’m wrong.”
306 “I wish you wouldn’t beg for forgiveness, it has the opposite effect of what you want.”
307 “Don’t hate me for this. You would’ve done the same.”
308 “This could’ve been the end and you were ready to let me go.”
309 “You should’ve left me, you could never deserve the person I’ve become.”
310 “Hate me all you want. I know I’m right.”
311 “Today you broke my arm, I hope tomorrow it’s not my heart.”
312 “Nothing can justify this, you’ve ruined him.”
313 “You live with so much guilt, I hope it drives you mad one of these days.”
314 “My life was ruined because of one mistake. You were that mistake.”
315 “You are everything I hate, don’t ever come back.”
316 “Evil doesn’t come close.”
317 “Your wrongdoings are becoming your pastimes.”
318 “I wish you had of just done it for the thrill of it, but now you’re in deep shit.”
319 “Next time, I won’t be here to salvage your wreckage. This is the last time.”
320 “You should have ruined me when you had the chance.”
321 “No one will keep your name alive. Once you’re gone, everything you once stood for disappears too.”
322 “Don’t pretend you haven’t thought about your life without me.”
323 “This is always how it ends.”
324 “Break my heart once more, I dare you.”
325 “Forget how you loved me once, I mean nothing now.”
326 “This isn’t Romeo and Juliet, this is real life and I can go on without you.”
327 “You don’t own me, I don’t belong to you.”
328 “I should’ve died. That would’ve made you happy.”
329 “Are we going to carry on like this or are you going to give him back to me.”
330 “She drowned and he lost his mind.”
321 “We shouldn’t. You’re married and I’m pregnant.”
332 “You’ve never been loved, I can tell.”
333 “Who told you I needed fixing and what made you believe them?”
334 “You’re almost as far-gone as I am.”
335 “Maybe it’s best that we don’t go home.”
336 “Roaming the streets was never safe for her. What makes you think it’s different for you?”
337 “I think you’re going to ruin me. Am I right?”
338 “Do you remember our last feud? I wouldn’t want someone to lose their life again, would you?”
339 “Kiss me quick and leave them be.”
340 “I hate seeing you so sad. It’s just so dramatic how humans show emotions and being sad is such a boring one.”
341 “Will you ever forget my number? No? Ah, because you still love me.”
342 “After the funeral, let’s surrender.”
343 “What made you think I cared for you?”
344 “It’ll be fun explaining this to your sister. I hope she likes horror stories.”
345 “Don’t act as if we’re friends. I know how much you want to slit my throat.”
346 “Let’s not get angry. Let’s calmly and sensibly take this outside so I can ruin your face.”
347 “Please ruin yourself for me and I’ll watch in adoration as I fall apart as well.”
Already requested – but still requestable
3 “Right now, I don’t know if I want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge” “Can I pick?”
4 “You know what they say, panicking burns a shit-ton of calories.” “Who even says that?” “Me. Just now.”
28 “Sometimes, memories are the worst torture.”
119 “Ah, he’s playing hard-to-get. That’s cute.”
185 “Be with me.”
186 “I’m vulnerable around you, and it only gets worse when you smile.”
190 “I’m surrendering myself to you; body and soul. What more do you want?”
214 “Please, just… touch me.”
348 “Are you SURE I can’t punch him in the face?” “Yes.” “What if I break his nose a little?”
349 “Show me your scars.” “But… why?” “I want to see how many times you needed me and I wasn’t there.”
350 “She’s my best friend. That hasn’t changed.” “It’s clear your feelings for her has.”
351 “Did you just… agree with me?” “Oh, I wish I could take-““Nope! You said it! No take-backs!”
352 “I think I’m having a feeling. How do I make it stop?”
353 “Don’t mind me, I’ll just be in the corner having another existential crisis.”
354 “I’m trying to have a serious conversation with you!” “And I’m trying to subtly avoid it!”
355 “You don’t strike me as a professional criminal.” “That’s what makes me so good at it.”
356 “It’s a good thing you’re cute when you’re angry.”
357 “What are you afraid of?” “You.”
358 “I don’t give a damn.” “You give so many damns they’re visible from SPACE.”
359 “It’s a long story” “You conned me into thinking you were dead for eleven months. I have time.”
360 “Unless I screw this up again, I’m going to marry you.” “Well you better not mess this up”
361 “Hey, I didn’t kill anyone today!” “What do you want? A gold star.”
362 “I feel like I’m being stabbed.” “How do you even know what it feels like to be stabbed?”
363 “What now?” “I don’t know. I thought the jump would kill us.”
364 “I saved your life.” “You pushed me off a building.”
365 “How do we keep getting into these situations?” “Eleven years of friendship and I still don’t know.”
366 “We’re leaving.” “But they have a lobster tank in their basement.”
367 “Take my hand.” “Why?” “I’m trying to ask you to marry me, so take my damn hand!”
368 “You look…” “Beautiful, I know. Can we move on?”
369 “I’m fine.” “You don’t look fine.” “Then stop looking.”
370 “You gotta stop doing that.” “What?” “Saying things that make me wanna kiss you.”
371 “I think that you’re not as dark as you want people to believe.”
372 “I hate you.” “Why? I’m lovely.”
373 “Why are they afraid of you?”
374 “Literally everything about this is illegal.”
375 “You love her don’t you?” “Was it that obvious?”
376 “Why me?” “Because you saw me when I was invisible.”
377 “I was just kind of hoping that you’d, y’know…. fall in love with me.”
378 “It’s okay. You don’t have to love me.”
379 “You know, no one bothered me this much when I was dead.”
380 “Only a fool would fall in love with someone as deadly as me.”
381 “I’d know that smirk anywhere.”
382 “I love you. You enormously stubborn pain in the ass.”
383 “Just remember if we get caught, you’re deaf and I don’t speak English.”
384 “Don’t look for any redeeming qualities. I don’t have any.”
385 “If my day gets any worse, I’m asking hell if they’re having an exchange program.”
386 “If I survive, can I go home?”
387 “That’s a little melodramatic, don’t you think?”
388 “You didn’t get in trouble for lying. You got in trouble for lying badly.”
389 “You’re good. A monster pain in the ass… but you’re good.”
390 “Neither one us is drunk enough for this conversation.”
391 “The universe may not always play fair, but at least it’s got a hell of a sense of humor.”
392 “My advice is much more subtle. Stop being an ass.”

The Boys in the Band, pt. 2: The Performance
Someone asked for a spoilery review, so I’m going to go into detail here. Maybe a mix of review, plot, and specific cute/hot things that happen during the show. I don’t really consider anything in the show to be “spoilery”, but if you’re planning on seeing this and just love surprises and not knowing anything about what’s to come...don’t read this, I guess. ;) [eta: Okay, so it seems like it’s mostly plot overview with random other observations sprinkled in. I’m not good at this! Also, I go into much more detail about the first half...it’s funnier, has more Matt, and I just peetered out]
Also, read on if you want deets on just how much Matt we see during the shower scene… :P
The general plot of the play is that Michael (Jim Parsons) is holding a birthday party for his friend Harold (Zachary Quinto). The entire play takes place in Michael’s apartment. There is an upstairs (bedroom and bathroom) and a downstairs (living room, mostly). If your seats are really close to the front of the stage, there will be some parts of the upstairs that will be blocked from your view. But they’ve cleverly placed mirrors on the ceiling, so what you can’t see straight-on, you can see in reflections. It’s not a problem at all. I was in the second row and was really worried I’d be too close and have obstructed sightlines, but I LOVED IT. You’re so close to the actors; it’s pretty amazing. I wouldn’t change my seats if given the chance. I think if I was able to see it again, I’d like to have a mezzanine seat. But I wouldn’t give up my up-close seat for the world. It was awesome. For...reasons...if you’re near the front, I think being left of center is better than to the right. Just as a tip, if you haven’t bought tickets yet.
Donald (Matt Bomer) is Michael’s best friend from college. He moved out of the city because he couldn’t handle all the people and stresses of city life. Donald is depressed. Loves to read. Likes to chill on the sidelines and just watch other people. He’s very caring. I totally dig Donald. He’s...a janitor? and works hard, but also has issues with failure that he attributes to his parents. He equates failure with receiving love. He’s known he was gay since forever. He drives into the city each weekend to see his therapist and visit Michael. He knows the other men that are invited to the party, but he isn’t in their friend group. He knows them bc he knows Michael, iykwim. He and Harold don’t seem to particularly like each other. Maybe bc they’re both best friends of Michael so there’s some competition/protectiveness?? idk. Haven’t thought about it enough.
Michael lives beyond his means. He’s also pretty depressed and has issues with being gay. I mean, that’s a huge theme of the play. How these guys deal with living in a time and place where society clearly doesn’t support or approve of homosexuality. As many of the actors have said in interviews, it’s interesting to see the play and notice how much things have changed, but also how many things in the play still resonate today. Oh, I guess it’s important to point out that it takes place in 1968.
The play starts with Michael in his apartment getting ready for the party. His doorbell rings and Donald enters. ::raucous applause:: The next 15 minutes (I’m really bad with time, so don’t take too much stock in that) is Michael and Donald talking with one another about their parents, lives, etc. General banter of friends. Donald notices that Michael is not drinking alcohol and hasn’t been for the last few weeks. He can tell because Michael gets mean when he’s drunk (keep this in mind). Michael says his therapist encouraged him to lay off drinking bc it’s obviously becoming a problem for him.
Tumblr media
It’s been a long day and Donald needs a shower. ::extremely raucous applause:: So Matt strips down to his undies and walks around a bit. Lays on a bed. Adjusts himself. Lots of this is only seen through the mirrors on the ceiling. Not sure about people in the mezzanine? They might be able to just see him laying there, idk. Then he wanders to the shower and strips...ALL THE WAY DOWN to shower. So yes. Not only do we see Matt’s ass, but we see his dick, too. Where I was sitting, I only saw it in reflections, but still. HEY THERE, MATT’S DICK! :P Whether or not other people in different seats see more or less of him, I’m not sure. This is why I say that the left is better than the right. The shower is on the right side of the stage, and there’s a sink/pedestal in front of the shower. So I think some people’s view of Matt in the shower is blocked by the sink? I was at enough of an angle where it wasn’t a problem. People were literally gasping. LOLOL.  The theater was definitely a-twitter. Lol. [random aside that I saw Angels in America during this trip, and in that play Lee Pace gets naked and just walks around the stage in the buff, so I guess it was my week for seeing ass and penis on stage? Lol]
Then he gets out and puts on a towel and walks around in that for a while, which is nice. Then he goes into the bedroom and changes and you can see him in his undies briefly (lol pun) again. So anyway, THAT HAPPENS. Lol
Tumblr media
While Matt is showering and getting ready, Michael’s phone rings. It’s his old college roommate, Alan (Brian Hutchison) who’s having a breakdown of some sort and wants to come over and talk to Michael. The problem? Alan is straight (or is he??) and “square” and doesn’t know that Michael is gay.  Which is a problem bc a bunch of gay men are about to descend on Michael’s apt. Michael tells him to quickly come over with the hope that he will arrive and leave before too many people show up (lol right).  But honestly, who’s listening to Michael at this point bc OMG MATT IS NAKED. Seriously, I think I just stared at Matt for 95% of the show regardless of who was talking. Lol. It helped that I read the play beforehand and watched the movie so I knew what was going on.  ;)
So Michael tells Donald that Alan is coming over and warns him that Alan doesn’t know he’s gay so don’t act gay. Donald is mildly offended and has a funny line about sitting with his legs spread and talking in a deep register. Lol. But anyway, Jim and Matt are great together and you can really see their friendship (well, Michael and Donald’s friendship). They’re very funny together. The doorbell rings and we all think it’s going to be Alan, but it’s the first of the party guests – Larry (Andrew Rannells), Hank (Tuc Watkins), and Emory (Robin de Jesus). Hank and Larry are a couple (with issues). Emory is unapologetically flamboyant. He is hilarious. So Hank was married (he’s in the process of getting divorced) and has 2 kids. He’s the most stereotypically masculine of the group. He’s bi, “with a definite  lean in one direction” (hint: not chicks). He’s a math teacher. The oldest of the group. He’s dating Larry, who’s a bit of a man-whore (and a commercial artist). Larry doesn’t believe in monogamy, and this makes Hank sad. So this is a running issue between the two throughout the night. Andrew is hilarious in the play. He has GREAT facial expressions and reactions.
So Michael introduces everyone and it’s a bit awkward between Larry and Donald. Clearly, they have some sort of history (spoiler alert that’s pretty obvious: They “know” each other because they fucked in the baths once, but never spoke to one another. Yes, they enjoyed their fuck). Throughout the night, Larry is continuously coming on to Donald. Leaning into his space, stroking his arm, etc. It’s pretty great.
Doorbell rings again. Michael warns everyone about Alan and to PLEASE ACT STRAIGHT. Cue lots of hilarity with Emory who is just not into pretending to be butch. So he opens the door...and it’s not Alan. It’s Bernard (Michael B. Washington). Bernard is black (relevant to later parts of the play). He works at the library (a bookstore? Can’t recall which now). Anyway, he knows Donald bc he’s always supplying Donald with books. Lots of comments on how Donald reads a shit-ton. Bernard is besties with Emory.
More hilarity and banter ensues. There is a song and dance number (Donald does not participate, but Matt looks cute standing there and he does cute mini hand/arm motions). While they’re all dancing and being silly, the doorbell rings, but no one hears it but Hank, who goes to open the door and...it’s Alan. So he walks in on all the guys doing a choreographed dance. AWKWARD. Michael is all...”Uh...we’re just being silly!” haha. Yeah. More introductions. Emory is Emory and is pissing Michael off with his refusal to stop being camp. Alan takes to Hank because he’s the most traditionally masculine. Hank and Alan talk about their kids and Larry is getting increasingly pissed bc Hank is hiding the fact that he’s gay and with Larry (although they’re all—poorly-- hiding the fact that they’re gay). Michael goes upstairs to speak with Alan and what his breakdown/problem is.
Tumblr media
So the action shifts to upstairs, but we can still see everyone downstairs. So they’re all acting like they’re at the party and are fake talking, etc. This is when Larry really gets into Donald’s space. He’s pissed at Hank because Hank are Alan were being all chummy. So he’s taking it out on Hank by being extra flirty with Donald. Donald isn’t really..opposed?...to it, but he’s maybe a little confused and awkward about it bc...hello?!? Hank is here? What even...? lol.
So upstairs, Alan decides he doesn’t want to talk about his issue and instead talks about how attractive Hank is. Lol. He also likes Donald. Alan’s been downing drinks (Donald is kind of the unofficial drink maker) and he’s drunk. Then he gets all homophobic and says shitty things about Emory. Michael gets a little pissed and goes downstairs while Alan stays upstairs in the bathroom.
Downstairs, the doorbell rings. Michael answers it, expecting it to be Harold (the birthday boy who is clearly very late). It’s a young studly guy dressed as a cowboy (Charlie Carver) who sings Happy Birthday to Michael and kisses him. Oops! Wrong guy! Cowboy is Emory’s gift to Harold. Harold was supposed to answer the door. But cowboy is early (you’re supposed to show up at midnight bc you’re a midnight cowboy!) and Harold is late, so...yeah. Didn’t work out. Then Alan comes downstairs and thinks Cowboy is Harold. Emory says, “No, he’s FOR Harold.” Alan is increasingly hostile and Emory is done with the fucking charades. Emory makes a comment about Alan’s wife, and Alan goes fucking berserk and starts punching Emory while calling him a bunch of gay slurs. Alan is pulled off Emory who is bleeding. Chaos is breaking out. The doorbell rings. Donald answers it and in walks Harold (Zach).
Harold is quite the character. He used to be a professional ice skater. He describes himself as an “ugly, pockmarked Jew fairy”.  He’s high. He’s very sardonic. He looks around and it’s like...WTF is happening? Lol. Alan is passed out on the floor. Emory has blood all over his face. Cowboy sings happy birthday to Harold, kisses him, then Harold reads the card tied to him and starts laughing hysterically.  (this technically ends the first act in the play, but there’s no intermission or anything so the action keeps going)
Tumblr media
[Note Larry leaning into Donald’s space in the background]
Tumblr media
Bernard and Emory go upstairs to clean up. Up until this point, the play has been really really funny. The general tone is pretty light and humorous. At this point, the tone starts to change dramatically. At some point, I don’t remember exactly when, this change is made blatantly clear by the lights going dim, and all the action on stage freezes, aside from Michael. He heads to the bar and pours and downs a drink. Remember what Donald said about Michael when he’s drunk? MEAN. So this marks the turning point. Light go back up, action resumes. [I’m not sure what I think about them doing it this way, but it hammers the point home that Michael is now drinking and things are about to get dark, so eh. Whatever. ] Michael gets increasingly asshole-ish. You really start to hate Michael.
Alan declares he’s going to puke, so Hank leads him upstairs to the bathroom. Michael and Harold exchange barbs. You really start to wonder why they’re friends. Every time Michael takes a drink, Harold proclaims, “Turning!” Like Donald, he knows alcohol turns Michael into an asshole. Michael is getting drunker and meaner and Harold is not one to just put up with things.  If something gets dished out, he’ll deal it right back ten-fold. But while brutally honest, he’s not being as downright cruel as Michael, who even starts throwing racist remarks at Bernard and cruel comments to Emory (which really horrifies Donald).
Alan comes downstairs and proclaims his intention to leave, and bizarrely announces that Hank should leave with him. This leads to the announcement that Hank and Larry and lovers, and basically the charade is up and hey! We’re all gay; and btw, we think you are too, Alan. Michael won’t let anyone leave and invents a “party game” for them all to play. Basically, you have to call someone that you’ve truly loved. You get different amounts of points for various things – if someone answers, you say who you are, you get the person on the line that you want to speak with, you tell them you love them. A total of 10 possible points. Donald and Harold are immediately like, YEAH NO. Not playing. So Bernard and Emory both call people. Does not turn out particularly well. I literally cried for Bernard. Michael B. Washington does a phenomenal job.
Tumblr media
Hank and Larry have it out again, but they end up calling each other, saying they love each other, and going upstairs to have sex in Michael’s bedroom.
Tumblr media
Michael starts harassing Alan and telling him he should call their other college roommate, Justin, that Michael is convinced Alan was in love with. He’s in total asshole mode. Alan dials a number and ends up telling the person he loves them. Michael grabs the phone assuming it’s Justin..it’s not. It’s his wife.
Alan leaves. The mood of the party has degenerated into a total morose atmosphere. Harold just goes off on Michael with a huge truth bomb about how self-loathing Michael is and how badly he doesn’t want to be gay, but guess what? You’re gay and you’ll always be gay. He then takes off with Cowboy. Emory and Bernard (who is super drunk by this point) then leave, and Michael has a breakdown. He basically starts hyperventilating and is comforted by Donald. He pulls himself together and leaves to go to a midnight mass. Donald stays behind to read a bit, after assuring Michael that he’ll be back next weekend. The play ends with Donald reading and the silhouette of Hank and Larry making love upstairs in bed.
Tumblr media
So yeah, I was much more brief when it came to the second half, in part bc it’s not as much “fun.” It’s much more dramatic. Very good, but not as fun to retell, and as far as Matt goes, aside from the end scene, he kind of disappears in the second half. I mean, he’s physically present and had lines, but there is definitely more focus on the other characters. He kinda just hangs in the periphery watching everything go down. And silently flirting with Larry lol.
All the characters do a stellar job. Charlie Carver/The Cowboy has the smallest role. He’s basically a big dummy, and provides some comic relief with his idiocy and innocence.  Tuc (Hank) does a great job, but his role isn’t as humorous or flashy as the others. Michael B. Washington is great as Bernard, and I was really feeling for him at the end. He has a great monologue that delves into race and slurs. He and Emory have a touching moment. Robin de Jesus is hilarious as Emory. Jim does a good job as insecure Michael. Apparently, he wears special shoes during the show because of his broken foot. I would not have known anything was wrong with his foot. He’s pretty spry walking around that stage. He does a good job playing a mean asshole. Lol. Andrew has hilarious reactions and facial expressions. Zach is hilarious as Harold. Very sarcastic and kind of deadpan? He has a very interesting way of speaking. Harold is super weird, and Zach does a super job. He comes in late in the play, but has an integral part once he arrives. And I love Donald. His role is definitely not as flashy as some of the others, but I feel you really get to know and like Donald.
You laugh A LOT during the first half of the show. You still have funny moments in the second half, but it is also more shocking and dramatic. Pretty thought provoking. And thinking about the time period that this play takes place in (1968) and how tough it was to be out (or not out) at that time, and looking on stage at the all gay cast...it’s a pretty special feeling. They look like they probably have a blast on stage every night.
I happened to be there on Zach’s actual birthday, which was funny because it’s his character’s birthday in the play. When Matt opens the door and it’s Zach standing there, the first line Donald says is, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Harold.” He said it VERY pointedly and I was like !!!!!!!! So that was special. Oh! A Matt insta post:
Tumblr media
If you aren’t going to be able to see it, you can watch the original movie. Obviously, it’s not as cool as seeing your faves in the role, but the original play, movie, and the revival are all very faithful to each other. Same dialogue and everything. The movie does add a few scenes at the beginning outside of Michael’s apartment, and some of the movie takes place outside on a balcony instead of all inside, but those are very minor details. I think they cut out a few lines of dialogue in the revival so they could cut down on the time, but offhand I don’t recall what they cut out. I’ll have to read the play again. So you’ll hear all the stuff that happens and all the funny lines and stuff that they say in the play. Then you can envision Matt in the role of Donald. I like Matt’s portrayal of Donald better than the original actor’s, but OBVIOUSLY I am biased. lol

It is ok to cry *George Weasley x Reader*
It was raining. Rain poured down upon the Weasleys' Wizarding Wheezes' window.
That's me, George Weasley, sitting at the table near the window, staring outside. Just two months ago, my best friend, business partner, partner in crime, my twin, Fred Weasley died. I refuse to accept my twin's death; I mourn over his death like it happened yesterday.
Well, I don't cry anymore. I must have cried it all out in the first week.
Things haven't been too well between my family and I, since the bloody events of the Second Wizard II. Everyone tiptoes around me, thinking I'll snap. Because of this, I try to avoid the Burrow as much as I can.
I sighed due to the terrible weather and hung my head low. In truth, it perfectly suits me now, angry and depressed.
A cup of coffee is placed on the oak table in front of me. Its steam rose up and filled my face. I glanced next to me to see my employee, Lena Mayfield. Ever since Fred died, I worked the shop alone. It was our dream; I couldn't let the shop go to waste. It was probably the one thing that kept me alive. A few weeks after Fred's death, I hired Lena to help me.
Her deep ocean blue eyes showed concern for me, along with her shoulder length auburn hair flowing down gently. The fact that she didn't wear makeup or flashy clothing, made her look beautiful. Blimely, if Fred was here, he'd flirt with her like crazy. Sigh, great. She even reminds me of Fred.
"Um... Mr. George, sir, I-I thought you might want some coffee. I-It's almost opening time."
I didn't answer; I was too focused on Fred. A long moment of silence passed between us.
"Oh! I-I see. Um... you don't have drink it! I-I can drink it!" Her reaction was of a child's.
I snorted under my breath. "No, no. I'll drink it," I sipped the warm beverage, taking in its sweet aroma, "It's delicious!"
"Really? That's great!" she cheerful smiled at me. Suddenly, lightning could be hear from outside.
Continuing, Lena commented, "It's quite a big rain storm today, huh?"
"Yeah. I don't like it." I grumbled quietly.
"But, the rain's good for something. The trees and plants wouldn't be able to grow without it. And plus, the sky's always so blue the day after." She once again beamed at me, but with gentleness, this time.
"That's true." My lips twitched into a grin. Upon seeing this, she gasped.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You smiled!" she replied happily.
"Huh? But I smile lots of time! You've seen me!"
"But it's the first time I've seen you genuinely." What? "Whenever customers come in, you force a smile on. Something's wrong and I could tell since I first came here. You're sad, and you don't know what to do." Lena worriedly claimed.
I didn't say anything. I was debating whether to tell her or not.
"Ah! I'm so sorry!" she cried, "You don't have to say, if you don't want to. Please forgive me, Mr. George, sir." Her brown hair covered her blushing face like a veil as she held her head low.
"Fred." I instinctively said.
"Huh?"
"It was Fred," I sniffed a little; "Fred was my best friend... business partner... partner in crime... my twin. He was killed by a death eater."
*Flashback*
I was waiting. Waiting for Fred, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Percy to be back, along with the rest of my family. 'I hope they're okay.' I thought quietly, while pacing back and forth, expecting at any time a death eater popping up, ready to kill me.
"George, they'll be fine." Mum said as if she read my mind.
"Yeah." I convinced myself that Mum was right.
The door of the Great Hall was swung open with Percy carrying Fred.
Along with the rest of my family, we rushed over to Percy. Dad assisted Percy in hauled my twin over to one of the tables.
"Percy, is Fred okay?" Ginny innocently asked.
Percy let out a sob, "I'm so sorry." he muffled.
Realization hit me. My brother, my best friend, my twin, Fred Weasley was gone. I threw myself over him and bawled for Merlin-knows-who. The Golden Trio eventually returned, but it didn't matter. My brother was dead.
*End of Flashback*
I took a deep breath after finishing my story; Lena's eyes soften and turned sad.
"I'm... sorry." Lena whispered dejectedly, "I shouldn't have forced you tell me."
"It's okay." I tried to force a smile for her, but failed miserably. Tears began to well up in my brown eyes.
"Damn it." I cursed. I turned away from Lena.
"Eh?" she naively questioned.
"I must be an idiot. I'm an adult; I shouldn't be crying."
"It's okay to cry." Lena simply stated. "Sometimes tears are the best way to deal with sadness."
I didn't say anything, being too surprised by her insightful advice. I position my chair so I was facing her. She continued, "Crying isn't something you should ashamed of. If you think you're going cry, then you should cry."
Her statement was something a kid would say. None the less, that statement caused my mask of cheerfulness to break down. My body began to shake uncontrollably, and my rough hands covered my face holding the salty tears. Then, I felt Lena pull me into an awkward hug. I latched on to her arms and wailed openly. She stroked my ginger hair like a mother would to her child, softly smiled and began to sing.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
It seemed like forever before I finally calmed down. When I did, Lena tenderly guided me to my room in the apartment upstairs. I fell tiredly on my bed.
"Rest." Lena firmly ordered "I'll take of your store, sir." With that, she left the apartment to start the delayed opening of the store.
Throughout the day, I could hear crashes, followed by panicking screams, along with the bell on the door ringing constantly, signifying many customers were coming in and out. I laughed heartily; Lena really does try her hardest.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
"G-George, I really don't want to come." Lena whimpered childishly.
"Lena, they'll love you. Who wouldn't?"
"You're just saying that to make me feel better."
It's been six months since Fred's death. Ever since I cried in front of Lena, my wounds started to heal even more. I owe this to Lena. Since then, Lena's been helping me get over the sadness. Things between my family changed for the better; they realized I was becoming noticeably happier, like how I use to be. Sometimes I feel sad, but Lena cheers me up a little. If I am in a bad mood, she brews me a cup coffee (BY HAND) or gives me a piece of candy.
"The little things are the best things in life." she once told me.
She understands I won't completely be over Fred, but helps me through the worst of it. Now, the two of us are about to go to Bill and Fleur's anniversary party. Although, she's reluctant to come out of her apartment's bathroom.
"No I'm not," I protested with a laugh, "Mum would love you like a daughter, Dad would be questioning you constantly about muggles, Ron and Harry would think you're adorable, and Ginny and Hermione would be happy to see another girl."
"Fine." She pouted and peeked her head from the door, "I'll come out. Don't laugh."
Laugh? No way! My reaction was the exact opposite. I was in a daze when she stepped out. She was wearing a simple long white dress, a pair of silver flats, no makeup, hair down and completed with a single pearl necklace. Upon seeing my face, she blushed and flipped her auburn hair in front of her.
"I knew I should have wore pants." She lowered head, covering her red face.
"No, no! You look beautiful!" She truly did. I then dragged her closer to me. "Here we go." I flicked my wand out and apparated us to the Burrow.
We appeared in the front of the Burrow, where Ginny, her boyfriend, Harry, and my old friend Lee Jordan, were about to go to the backyard.
"George!" Lee exclaimed, "It's been a while! How'd you been?"
"Very well." I replied, "What about you, Harry?"
"Good." Harry smiled and shook my hand.
"Hey George, who's that?" Ginny asked, pointing at the person behind me.
Ginny was staring at Lena, the shy brunette hiding behind me.
I introduced Lena, "This is Lena, a good friend of mine."
"Hi Lena, I'm Ginny Weasley." Ginny held her hand out with a warm smile.
"Lena Mayfield; i-it's nice t-to m-meet you." Lena shakily shook my younger sister's hand.
*Later in party*
I was right about my family's opinion; they all loved her and immediately welcomed her into the family.
I was chatting with Lee, Ron, and Harry, when Lee started questioning me about Lena.
"So Georgie, where'd you meet a pretty girl like her?" he inquired, with curiosity.
"She's my employee."
"Is she single?"
That just earned him a glare, "Yes." I attempted to stay calm, "But she's unavailable."
"Fine, fine." Lee heaved a sigh, "She's already got you."
"We're just friends."
"Yeah, but you want to." Ron pointed out.
"I don't."
"George, it's obvious that you adore her. There's no denying it." Harry keenly said, "And I'm pretty sure, she feels the same way."
Was he right? Did I really like her that way? I noticed from a distance Lena was staring at me; I gave her one of my most charming smiles. Lena, who was already blushing, flushed an even brighter red. Her face reminded me of a tomato. I pulled her away from Hermione and Ginny, who was chatting with her, and begun to dance with her, when a slow dance song played. Lena's eyes glowed like the stars as we danced gracefully under the moonlight.
Apparently, Harry was right about me liking Lena. She was becoming the most important person in my life. Not a day could pass by without seeing her. As time passed by, I began to notice the down-to-earth features Lena had that made her look hot. The way her auburn hair swayed when she moved... her clear sea blue eyes... her slim body along with a few nice curves... that cheerful smile of hers... her simplistic nature... the way she blushed so easily... ok, I should probably stop now; you get the point now. I was falling head-over-heels in love with that girl.
While I spotted many attractive traits about Lena, I also noted a hidden sadness in her eyes. It was the most visible when we were at the Burrow for Sunday Dinner. I'd ask her several times if she was okay, but she'd smile and say she's fine.
What was she hiding? I don't know!
Anyways, I was closing the shop for today, when Lena asked me for a day off.
"A day off?" I repeated.
"Yes, a d-day off. Tomorrow."
"Sure, just why?"
"Um... I have something important to do." She quietly answered.
Pressing on, I questioned, "Which is?"
"I'd rather not say." There was that sadness in her eyes again. Then, her eyes lit up again and she softly smiled, "Don't worry; I'll see you the day after tomorrow."
Well, I couldn't sleep that night, since I was too worried about Lena. Something just didn't seem about that smile of hers... That's when I decided; I'm following her where ever she's going!
The next morning, I was waiting outside Lena's apartment. When she came out, she was wearing her normal clothing; a pair of jeans, a shirt, sneakers, and an overcoat. Except she was also carrying a small bouquet of red roses as well. I hid in the shadows as she walked out of her dwelling.
For the next two hour, I followed Lena around. She went to several different places, which had no connection to each other, but later in the day, she unpredictably, journeyed down to the Muggle world, where she then went to a muggle graveyard in London.
She stepped silently across the cemetery, careful to not make any noise.
'Muggle graveyards are just as depressing as wizards.' I grumbled, hiding behind the tombstones. Then I noticed she stopped at one of graves.
"Hey Claire." She greeted, "I'm sorry I couldn't visit you earlier; well you see... I... Oh!" Her ears perked up, "I brought you some roses. They're pink; just the way you like them." She placed the bundle of roses in front of the grave; stillness filled the air. "Anyways, I met this guy... actually, he's my boss. His name is George Weasley. He's a prankster, but a kind person none the less. I think you two would have gotten along very well." She smiled softly hearing that statement. "He... lost his twin, Fred Weasley, during the Second Wizarding War. Strange," she was wearing a thoughtful look, "It sort of reminds of what happened to you..."
What surprised me was that there were tears forming in the corners of those sea blue eyes of hers. Because of this, I accidently stepped on a fallen branch. Hearing this, she swiftly wiped her tears away and called faintly, "Who's there?"
Deciding it was best to just be earnest, I appeared from my hiding spot. She glanced at me for a second, before plastering a fake happy smile. "Oh! George! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the shop?"
"I closed it for today." I changed the subject abruptly, "Who's that?"
"My sister, Claire." She turned her back on me. Not letting me start, she continued, "My mother... died giving birth, and my Dad died in an accident the same day. I never really knew them. The only relative I had was Claire, who was only twenty at that time." I was shocked; how could someone was so shy, so sweet have a past like that? "My sister... gave everything up for me. Instead of going to America for college, she went to a nearby one in London, so she could raise me." Even from behind, she was obviously upset. "Anyways, she was a-a lab assistant for a famous Muggle scientist. One day, her boyfriend, Lloyd was going to propose to her. I was really happy for her. She was always doing something for the sake of another. So I wanted her to be happy for herself. But... o-on that day, that was a dangerous experiment her boss was doing and she was needed to assist him. It was a failure; the experiment caused an explosion and lit the building on fire. S-she didn't live... I was only seven." Lena choked out with sadness. She let out a few sobs in attempt to not cry.
Instead of sympathizing her like a normal person would, I bravely took a step towards the hurt girl and embraced her tight from the front.
"There, there." I cooed, "It's okay to cry."
"I'm not crying." She muffled into my shirt.
"Yes you are; my shirt is wet." I stroked her shiny hair, "Besides you did say crying is the best way to deal with sadness." She looked up at me for a long time, as if she was waiting for a reaction. When I kept a determined face on her, tears started flowing rapidly down her face.
"Oh!" she tried to wipe them away, when she realized. This just made me hug her tighter. Things went downhill for her there. She cried uncontrollably into my chest; she must have been holding it in for a very long time. For a long time, I just stood there comforting her as she cried. I barely remembered what happened during that period of time, but I do recall it was snowing lightly, as it was trying to soothe her. When she finally calmed down, I did the most unexpected. I held her face up to mine and crashed my lips on to her's. There was no need to tell her; I think she figured it out from my actions. At first, she was astonished, then she slowly melted into the kiss. When we parted, she turned her characteristically shade of red. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Q-quit laughing!" she cutely fumed.
"Why not? It's cute!" I grinned brightly, and once again leaned down to kiss her, "C'mon, let's go to shop; we can still open it for today." I began to leave the graveyard.
For a second, Lena stood there, shocked, but then, she beamed cheerfully and chased after me, "Yes!" She grasped my hand as we left the cemetery with our hands entwined.
