#Vote to End OTW Racism

A Call To Action

Earlier this week the OTW responded to our previous action and reaffirmed their commitment towards combating and preventing racism within its platforms. 

They also thanked us for working to keep holding them accountable to their goals and we intend to keep doing so. 

To that end, Fandom Against OTW Racism is calling for our Second Action!! This action is centered around the upcoming Board Elections set for August 11-14. We want to encourage everyone who can to participate in the election process and spread the word far and wide about these elections! 

Currently, 4 of the 7 Board positions are up for election, which is a majority. Now is the time to get involved. In light of multiple accounts coming forth about the state of the organization, it is clear that fundamental changes need to happen – and those can only happen with a shift in leadership, from what we currently have to one that is capable of supporting and implementing those much-needed changes.

Please join us in calling upon our fellow fans to vote to make things better for all of us!

How to get involved:

With four Board Seats open, now is the perfect time to act and make this issue a key component of this election to select people who demonstrate a commitment to combating racism in our fannish spaces. So if you can, please plan to vote this election cycle!!

If you already are a member, use your voice and Vote. If you have donated in any of the fundraising drives for AO3 in the last year, you are likely eligible. You can check your eligibility status here by selecting “Is my membership current/Am I eligible to vote?”

If you are not currently a member or eligible, consider donating $10.00 so that you can gain membership in OTW and be able to vote. In order to vote your donation must be received by June 30th. 

When donating you can add ‘End OTW Racism’ to the ‘In Honor Of’ field if you feel comfortable doing so.

Hello. As a show of my ability, I have created a private system server template for you to use. While "private" is in the name, I have included two access roles (Friend and Trusted Friend)—however I have not done any permissions for them. There is a Bot role that has permissions for them, like access to the System Setup category.

And, like the last template, only traumagenic systems can interact with this blog and use my templates. Endogenic systems and their supporters get blocked.

My most notable post, and the one this blog reblogged multiple times that brought our paths across each other, was a "do you love the color of the sky" post, but I made it extra long. Like, several times as long as the original. It was evil, I know. It was for April Fools. The blog I'm looking for reblogged it from me en masses, a good 20-40 times in a row. That's what made me take notice of them. Most of the time I just reblogged posts, but that one was a special occasion. I also had a bunch of back and forth posts with a different mutual, tagged #homeskillet, which might be unique enough to be of use? Oh, and one of my most popular posts was a Awsten from the band Waterparks that I edited to have transparent hair so it would change color with your blog theme (made that for a friend). Maybe that would help? The blog I'm looking for never reblogged that post, but it still might be worth something?

My old blog used to be ftinally (currently on anon because my new url is extremely similar, but I've had too many bad experiences with sending asks off anon and then getting a bunch of hateful asks in response that I'm wary of attaching my url to asks).

The title of my blog was "don't write yourself off yet", like the Jimmy Eat World song. It was only deleted around September/October, so the trail isn't too cold yet. Hopefully some of that information is useful? Thank you so much for looking into this!

finally... a lead. first thing was first, i saw the mention of "do you love the color of the sky" and jumped for joy. see, i'm very close with Madame Curator, @hellsite-hall-of-fame. and dare i say she is the Queen of the Sky. i went to her and asked for any extra long color of the sky posts, to which she sent me two different variants. however, neither of these were gettin' me where i needed to go. luckily, i was provided a blog name i could track! doin' quite a bit of diggin' i managed to stumble across the aformentioned Awsten post. now, i know that i was told that the missing person hadn't reblogged this one, but at least i could confirm this was what i was lookin' for.

so, i went down to my ol' pal, Google, to see if they knew anything about "tumblr ftinally." and they handed me a whole laundry list of links. it was time to meticulously check every single one of these. i was hopin' to stumble across the color of the sky image that my client had mentioned. unfortunately, i wasn't findin' the color of the sky post. however, i went back to the Awsten post and thought i might be able to use that as a lead. problem was, that wasn't gonna do me much good. usin' the Wayback Machine and searchin' for the blog's address also wasn't doin' me much good, and i was gettin' worried this was gonna be a dead end.

i hate to do this again, but is it possible you have any defining characteristics of that color of the sky post you made? any accompanying text, tags you may have used, or even original image files and could reverse image search? and of course, feel free to message me this information in private if it's too personal to share in an ask, or not mention it at all if you're not comfortable!

additionally, when you say "red blog" do you mean the blog had a red theme, or the blue eye was on a red background in the actual image? that also may help to narrow the search!

1. why did you choose your url?

the reason started out sort of lame but gained a lot of sentiment over time lmao

as a teenager, i was brainstorming new website URLs, and “aftershocked” happened to be one of them (and went unused). a few years later i was joining a forum to become a scanlator (specifically, proofreading & typesetting manga), and i wanted a new username, and went with aftershocked

scanlating wound up being one of the most enjoyable things i’ve ever done—made great friends, learned a lot, gained some useful and surprisingly versatile life and collaborative skills. everyone in the scanlating group mainly used our usernames, or nicknames based off of our usernames, and also one of my best friends in the group had a nickname that paralleled with mine—and idk, after a while, aftershocked/afs just became a name i rly identified with and felt close to

now i use it basically everywhere & have been using it for like 12 years, because in addition to my real life name, aftershocked... is my name, online. which probably sounds either crazy or cheesy, especially on tumblr where people change their URLs so often, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

n. 1 | Why did you chose your URL?

I kind of combined all the NCT members who got me really involved with NCT in the first place. So namely, the person who peeked my interest in NCT was Taeyong after my friend showed me his solo stuff and black-on-black but my first ultimate bias was Mark and then my friend’s bias (who showed me Taeyong) was Lucas (and he later became one of my major biases) So it was mxr for Mark, ca for Lucas, and yong for Taeyong (so I pronounce it mark-ah-yong) And then I was debating changing it now that I’m basically biased for all 23 members (some to different extents to others but I’m always tied with like 7 people for ultimates) but then it just felt catchy and I didn’t think I could come up with a better name than that that isn’t taken already.

n. 2 | Any side blogs? If you have them, name them and why you have them?

Initially no. Technically this is my side blog. I had a private personal blog I used to treat as a journal but then after too long with my focus on NCT and way too many “I am following you, just in a personal blog”, I basically wiped it and turned it into a random blog where I repost content that excites me / stories I like to read / whatever I want thats less personal and depressing as it was before haha… It’s @mxrcayong-main. TBH the main reason was to build better relationships with my mutuals - like they never see if I read their posts or like their stuff because my personal blog was just strange and I didnt want people to really see it.

Honestly…very long. This blog hasn’t been too long though. This started as an NCT blog March 2020, but my first ever post was about Sehun in February 2020 (which was supposed to be a one off post haha). I once had a 5SOS blog, and then a Tom Holland one, and then now this haha. I have deleted the 5SOS one, unable to delete the Tom Holland one bc I lost access to it, and now I am on this :) I low key wanted to regain access to my Tom Holland one because I’m simping again but I lost details to the email I signed it up to.

Honestly, it was the first lockdown and I was bored.

For the Lucas one; I liked the aesthetic. My favorite kind of aesthetic is this vintage, faded, film kind of look. For me, I think one of the most profound and important things we have as humans are these vivid memories so any photo that kind of mimics this feel is super gorgeous to me. Also Lucas is stunning.

I used to have a Haechan matching aesthetic to the Lucas one, but I recently decided to turn it blue. I chose Mark because I’m the biggest simp for him (alongside with Jeno and Haechan mostly). This is purely because blue is one of my favorite colors; it always calms me down, and I just thought the aesthetic and composition of this photo really pleases me. Like, it also fits my vibe a bit more of the ‘softie’ and my friend even says I fit the ‘blue vibe’ more idk haha. I just come onto Tumblr for escapism and write for escapism, and blue helps calm me down so I wanted this escapism to be calming y’know haha

Why did you choose your URL?

I think it was only briefly something else, and then my friends I giggled about pronouncing “poptarts” in a funny way and I never changed it again

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I had a little circuit I’d make to check like, 5 tumblr blogs daily? and eventually I just thought it’d be easier to have all those posts on dashboard instead

it’s a picture I took around the time I made this blog from a back-and-forth series of fake deep pictures my friend and I were sending to each other with dumb titles. I think my icon was titled “modern conveniences” or something along those lines

all the good girls related urls i could think of were taken and im now very grateful for that. so it’s part of the title of a fic id just written when i returned to tumblr. which in turn was named after a BANKS song bc of course

Why did you choose your URL?

It’s a play on a line of “Impossible” From Rodgers and Hammersteins’s Cinderella. The one that goes “And because these daft and dewy eyed dopes keep building up impossible hopes, impossible things are happening every day.” I changed it the last word to miss on my old blog but I was in a “I’m stepping away from social media to become a real person” mood and I deleted that blog without saving the url so now it’s adaftanddewyeyedmizz.

1: Why did you choose your url?

It makes me laugh whenever they would scream it in the game. I was debating between it and “Secure that bear for the father!” which is my second favorite Cult npc line. I just have this like, fondness for funny little npc lines and stuff.

No. I have a personal blog for random stuff that I’m actually about to delete lol. Might make a side blog attached to this one for the kind of thing I would post of there. Whenever I can think of a fun name.

9 years. But this blog only 1.

Nah. I’ll schedule posts from time to time but I don’t use a queue.

I got really into Far Cry 5 and was kind of spamming posts there and I didn’t want to annoy my other followers with it I guess. But also wanted a place that wasn’t clogged up with random shit so I could actually catch people’s writing and art and stuff.

It’s a commission I got of my OC Cooper by @iigoart and I love it so much!! Really captures Cooper’s energy perfectly.

(They posted their FC5 sexuality headcanons and had John as ‘heterosexual’ and I reblogged it with uh something like “John Seed heterosexual????!!!!” cause the idea was funny to me. It was probably a dick move tbh.) The OP got MAD though. They never interacted with me directly but like @’t me or something lmao.

Hate them. They activate my “you don’t tell me what to do” reflex. I understand the urgency behind them and most of them are attached to important issues but like. Idk there’s other ways to do it. I use tumblr specifically to distract myself from some of the awful things happening in the world so I don’t like people insinuating that I don’t care just because my blog isn’t plastered in news posts and donation links.
