The sudden shift in atmosphere nearly makes Maren drop her stolen goods. It takes a moment— and a suspiciously friendly wink— for her to realize what’s going on. She ought to be ashamed that she was caught, that she’d been too obvious in her devious behavior. But she should’ve also been thankful. As the man behind the counter mutters swears in some language she can’t make out, Maren takes a chance to stuff the bag of sweets into her backpack, and even takes a chance of grabbing an extra one while she has a second. Maybe if the girl confronted her, Maren could buy her allegiance with stolen candy. A peace offering, of sorts.

Once the stolen items are tucked far enough into her bag, Maren zips it up and rounds the corner, eyes wide like a startled child. She hesitates a moment, watching the pair of strangers interact. The man’s clothes are stained red and it takes a beat for Maren’s brain to realize it’s not blood. Not yet. She swallows again, meeting the other girl’s gaze and offering her a grateful nod before gripping the straps to her backpack and moving towards the door. If she could make it outside without alarms going off, she’d consider it a win. Anything else that happened outside of the store would be handed as it came.

I found socks with my favorite flowers on them (nasturtiums!), but they literally don't match anything I own, so making an outfit with them is difficult.. just all black with the bright shoes and a random stuffed animal for accents lol

I did not order one. I almost did. I was so close. I debated with myself about it for days and then spent a few hours kinda just staring at the website to buy it lol. But then I was like, do I really need this? And I talked myself out of it.

Maybe if I was more firm about which one I wanted... I like all of the brothers fairly equally, so it wasn't like I had a standout that I was like I must have it! I love Mammon and yellow is my favorite color, but I also love Belphie and purple is my other favorite color... but then I also love Satan and his had cat ears??? I just couldn't decide!

I haven't actually purchased any official merch at all. I keep looking at it and then talking myself out of it. I'm always like, you already spend too much money on the app, you don't need physical stuff too! I did buy a fan zine, though. It's in the mail currently. I was able to talk myself into that one because you know, supporting artists and writers and all that!

Anyway, we'll see if I regret my choice not to purchase one in the future... but I hope everyone who did enjoys it when it arrives!

Just want to share that I've made the blog @nevermoorsource, which I intend to use as a place to post updates/news/behind-the-scenes stuff related to Nevermoor. I like to keep track of all of this stuff anyways so I figured I might as well make a sideblog just to keep it all in one place.

I don't have any news to post yet (and probably won't for awhile considering we're in a bit of a drought right now), but I did finish organizing all of the chapter illustrations for the American editions if you want to take a look. Tumblr limits the number of images you can have in a post so I had to use pages, therefore you'll have the best experience viewing them if you're on desktop with custom themes enabled. Here's the mobile navigation because the desktop database isn't set up yet.

Currently I'm working on gathering other stuff like interviews and figuring out my tag system, so there's nothing else on there, but stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled on that blog because I'll announce over there when I have that stuff up.

decided AU!Peter gets glasses again in his early 20s after years of powering through vision problems brought on by increased light sensitivity + retaining some mild myopia post-spiderbite.

early on is simple. he thrifts some vintage frames and gets photochromic lenses (aka generic Transitions) put in. specifically the darker ones, so his lenses are always a little gray even inside.

(and now i need to edit some fics again) (lol)

the real question I'm asking myself now is what color lenses he has later, when he gets FF coverage in 2015; considering a lightly tinted minty blue-green in low light which turns a deep grayish green-black in bright sunlight (essentially green-gray transitions on top of a blue base) (also polarized) —

on the one hand, just get polarized sunglasses or clip-ons separately from a pair of regular non-tinted glasses, but on the other hand, as the saying goes: he'd lose his head if it wasn't attached to his neck.

but idk if he'd be willing to wear lovely jade-lensed glasses everywhere lmao — he's not kaine, after all!
