and ALSO??? please YES, READ ROMAN HOLIDAY!! in all honesty it's the only novel I managed to read whole because my brain focuses too well in reading stuff related to my hyperfixation

but HHHHH, she's so special to me...I'm at that point in which (if she returns) seeing her in canon will feel weird, because it's obviously not gonna follow all the headcanons I've been developing, but I would be happy enough to just see a bit more of Neo lol

In Journey to the West, Kang-Jin Star was a GOOD celestial dragon constellation who originally helped Sun Wukong; but in Game Science's dark AU she's mind-controlled by Yellowbrow (disguised as fake!Maitreya), to help him use Wukong's relics to gain more power/immortality in Chapter 3. What happens to her (and all the other dragons) is really effed up--the black myth of it all--so I just wanted TS3 gameplay where real!Maitreya purifies her and frees Wukong's relic from the ice lake, and everyone's OK in the end. 😔

But chile, the lore about Wukong's relics isn't explained in the game AT ALL. That's a big issue about BMW, the sharp learning curve about what the story even IS. Cuz Game Science doesn't just expect you to be proficient in Journey to the West, Buddhism, and Chinese folklore; they also expect you to be fluent in the Chinese language to get all the puns, which are lost in translation in English. This game is NOT for Western audiences; it's super confusing & vague if you're not steeped in research about ancient Chinese culture. To this day I'm learning more about wtf was going on in this frikkin game; HELP.

In the Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains & Seas), the He-luo Fish (何羅魚) has 1 head and 10 bodies (aka: a squid) that really stinks, but has magic/medicinal properties against flatulence/farting. So Game Science used it as a relic form to represent Wukong's nose/sense of smell, like how the Grieving Body relic is Wukong's torso/touch relic.

But there's a deeper pun about how in Chinese, saying someone's blowing hot air or has farts coming out their mouth is another way of saying they're speaking "nonsense (屁)," which is ALSO the name of the Chapter 3 cutscene/music video where Yellowbrow (in disguise as a magic money yaoguai) corrupts people into self-destructive greed & murder--just like he did to Kang-Jin Star and all his other victims. And when he explains his evil actions to Xuanzang (sense/truth), all he's doing is speaking nonsense(屁)/lies/💩--just a fart. 👌😤👏

So, as we all know there was this Fnf mod called Twiddlefinger based on the two. BUT it's supposed to focus on a more.. *romantic* scale of the two's relationship.

THEN, in one of Max design pro's vids, we can see that he took the twiddlefinger design and put him in as a "wanted" poster.

The fans went ham and noticed that shit. The fact that a brainrot and no longer as much content farm noticed the mod was extraordinary, never done in history.

And from then, Max started putting fanart on his walls whenever he could. That showed that he acknowledged the fact that he now has a damn fandom, erm.

basically a bunch of people on tiktok from those fandom spaces decided it was a good idea to take people's work (not even their own fic) and bind it and start selling it. one of the "big ones" was a fic titled "all the young dudes" ... iirc... which was/is a harry potter snape delulu fic

it's gone far enough to where some fics have been found to have been published on amazon and it's fucking it up for authors everywhere :(

I've heard recently about some fanfics getting published on amazon... somehow. I can't quite remember how or which ones they were, just that I know it's also really hard to get books taken off amazon and that was also adding to the problem. I have a good friend pretty dialed in to what booktok is doing and every once in a while she'll tell me some drama and I get six more white hairs.

Tbh i. That is, just to beat a dead horse for a moment, an incredibly stupid and selfish thing to do with a high chance of salting the earth for everyone. I hope they can get it figured out, I know Ao3 has a legal team but that reach only goes so far to protect us. I can't tell you how much back-bending we had to do with the supercorp zine to keep it safe for not just us (mods and contributors AND fandom at large) and the charities, but also Ao3. Once you bring money into an IP that you don't legally own (art OR fic OR merchandise) and start pocketing money from it... that's risky. Most companies won't go past a cease and desist if it's getting really big, but I did grow up in the time of Anne Rice.

As for anyone who may be selling their fanfic through personal publishing or commissions: be careful. If you want to do that, do it, but do your research and don't take it near Ao3 either (it's against ToS for one, and you risk the entire platform by even mentioning a kofi or paypal or patreon so don't do it). I know everybody has to eat and I'm not gonna preach to you how you should do it-but don't betray your own community no matter which fandom or ship you're in.

I watched the One Piece live action and here are some notes I took.

I'm a huge One Piece fan since I was like 10-ish? And so, I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about it. It had a lot of impact on my personality (Nico Robin is my role model). This live action adaptation matters to me and I'm going to rant. Spoilers ahead.

The director is a woman, and one of the two writers is a woman. Manga and anime are male dominated hobby (and the comic's world is sexist), so the live action of the most popular shōnen being run by women is so great, imo. Also, it's pretty successful, in contrary to other attempts, so it's a win for women.

Garp's actor is a very handsome man. Wtf, they made Garp hot. He also has a beautiful Welsh accent, which is great because it's an accent that gives a "tough guy" impression. At least, it does for me.

Luffy's actor is perfect. This Luffy is slightly different from the original one, but he's perfect in his own way. I will die and kill for him. Also, him being brown with a white grandpa is so good, it had a racial gap between the two of them, where there are already a generational one and a moral one. Like, the white grandpa in the army do not understand how his brown grandson do not like the gov, because he doesn't see it from where he is when the kid does.

Alvida's actress is so beautiful, she's so pretty. I suddenly support women's wrongs.

Damn, the violence is going up a notch (Roger executed on screen, Mr 7's body cut in half, MERRY IS FUCKING KILLED,...)

The actors for Koby and Helmeppo are queer (They/Them pals) Oda is, once again, showing his support to the trans community.

I do not like the colors. It's too dark for One Piece, imo. Look at how saturated the colored pages are, I would have preferred it to be more saturated. I know, this is because of the CGI (issues are less perceptible this way), I'm going to need to make some edits. But, they didn't have to do it to the costumes too. Like, Buggy, except from his hat, his outfit is not flashy like it should be. Would help with the colored hair if it was more colorful and flashy.

Young Luffy wear the same shirt as in the manga is a nice touch.

Here’s that (admittedly rough) sketch I did of what I had imagined Cole would look like in your role swap au!

He’s kind of a mix of Ana’s captain Amari with the leg armour, hair & eagle on the hat ( if you can even see that lol). The serape and the straps on his legs were from one of Ashe’s concept designs. I just mixed these things in with the general vibes from his overwatch 1 skin and some western nonsense.

LOL I’m glad to hear that!!

It took three evenings + some finishing touches on the 4rd day… So I think roughly 15 hours? Which is more than usual, but there’s been some shortcuts: since I painted the background, I didn’t have to do a lot of lineart (the most time-consuming and difficult part was Lilia’s uniform)… but then I went and spent all this time on the embroidery and other details lol

I really love drawing something bigger from time to time; it requires a lot of thinking juices and time, but it’s so worth it at the end.

Alright if I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO, let’s go with Ace; he is clingy, hot-headed, annoying and horny enough for that LOL Just like you said, it’s the combined douchebag energy! I really like the idea of- you know what, I’ll talk about these two tomorrow when I post the hc post >:3 I have much to say. But also, totally agree with the brother-tax. You go, Trappola-aniki, steal Fellow from him. I feel like they would actually end up having a lot in common and maybe even genuinely enjoy each other company, oh no… (also Damn there are a lot of gingers in this whole situation…)

Kalim/Fellow is super fun though, they deserve their own sitcom. It’s super easy to imagine everything you’ve mentioned and described; poor Fellow, he doesn’t even know that he is about to experience Jamil’s overprotective nature!...

What I found interesting about their interactions is that even though it feels like Fellow would easily sell his body and soul to Kalim and shower in his money, whenever Kalim actually tells Fellow that he would pay him, Fellow looks very offended. I guess it’s because Kalim being so carefree with his money and unintentionally flexing is very irritating and even insulting. Kalim gets so confused by this reaction, he just wanted to help...

So I can picture Fellow getting nervous surrounded by Kalim’s riches, keeping Gidel close to himself in case he pickpockets something (he’ll still manage steal so much shit). With this feeling in the back of Fellow’s mind that even though Kalim is kind and sweet, he could easily try to buy him just like Fellow’s bosses always do, and he’d be waiting for this moment very tensely… and maybe even anticipating for it at some point. Maybe after some time, he’d start hoping for it. Man would go full 180 in his mind while Kalim is just out there trying to be the best host possible lol

(As for Jamil… Who knows, maybe Kalim would even be cursed enough to ask Jamil about whether he’s jealous or not… or even worse, he won’t even ask, just tell Jamil not to worry about it. This is so much worse, Jamil would overblot again due to the stupidity of the situation…)

Just because I'm a cat! -_-) I am up meowing, Aunt Marie is yelling, “How many cups of masala tea?” from the kitchen, the couple is bent over in front of a random aunty to seek the blessing, instead of her, granny yelled, “Bless them and tell them to have a child before I die!”. In the middle of all this a goat ‘Mr. Baa’…the goat says, “Hold on! ‘Mr. Baa’, Seriously?” Hey! I got Tom and Jerry so zip it! A stupid goat broke my flow! So yeah in the middle of all this, Mr. Baa has decided to show up, pass through the hallway, and eat all the cake, this is what happens when you feed a random goat every day in front of your house. “Hey, they picked you up from the streets as well, ‘Bumpy’. You're also the random cat!..” I told you to zip it, Baa! Shhhsh! this might be cliche... but who are your favorite authors/artists?? influences in general? aside from donna tartt?? your writing and the network of little references sprinkled in them literally make me want to tear out my wallpaper and eat it it's so good wtf do you put in it dear author?????

gosh so many things. if it's not glaringly obvious I am a huge media person so books/film/tv are all things I love and consume voraciously. I've always been a big big reader. I've made a list of some of my favorite book recs here as well as some of my favorite films here

I'm also a big lover of the ballet and the city I live in has a large company which I go to watch every chance I get, the last one I saw was swan lake and it was wonderful :) I've found it's a great source of inspiration when it comes to choreography on the page. when writing large amounts of physical scenes ie. sex or action or what have you physical descriptors and body placements become tedious and repetitive and I like looking to dance as a source for differentiation in my own written choreography. If you're a writer I'd definitely recommend for physical aspects!

I also obviously really love art and although I wouldn't say I'm very well studied or deeply knowledgeable on the subject I know what I like and have a clear grasp on my tastes. I'm endlessly scrolling Pinterest for visuals that inspire me, and I'm also a big museum person and as I travel a fair amount, whenever I'm traveling I go to lots of museums.

not to sound cliche as well but music is also obviously and of course a big influence in my work. when I was writing greener memories of better men I'd initially gotten the idea from this random Facebook post I'd seen but the true tone of the story came from the song The Weight by The Band. After writing several different versions of Joel's so in depth I've found now I'm worried about becoming repetitive in my characterization of him which is tricky because it's extremely extremely important to me that my iterations of him be true to his canon personality. I'm not a big fan of an OOC Joel and it's important to me to always stay true to who I think he really is in his original story personality wise, u know? but at the same time it becomes difficult navigating the inevitability of monotony when writing the same character over and over again. so I suppose what I try to do each time is provide a different view of the same man. for some reason that song brought that version of him I was trying to write very into focus for me at that moment. I don't know if that makes a lot of sense lol but sometimes inspiration or direction arises from strange places.

I feel like I've talked too much about Nabokov this year but I've been very slowly studying his work this year and I feel he's been a huge influence on my tone and cadence as I've progressed. I feel like he switches between having a very complicated way of saying very simple things and then saying very complicated things in very simple ways. he's also a master at sentence structure - again when trying to avoid monotony - I like studying the way he crafts these truly complicated sentences into a single monolith without ever actually breaking any rules of grammar or if he does it's in a way that doesn't seem wrong, if u know what I mean. he also comes up with he strangest metaphors for the smallest things. the last thing I read he describes a man's face as a "wet galosh" to tell us he was morose or sad or what have you and it's just soooo funny and interesting to me. I need my own mind to work in strange and creative ways like that, I'm trying to train it into doing so

I straight up don't ship.. Like, at all. It's mostly because I'm not quite interested or care enough about it. I'll enjoy a ship, I'll cheer on other people with their ships like I'm their #1 fan. But I don't do it myself. My only exception is usually Familial Bonds but, those are way different so I don't really see them as ships. (I am a sucker and HUNGRY for found family tropes.)

I am.. shy. I'm shy to a fault. I have a LOT of trouble not listening to that nagging little voice in my head that says 'Don't bother you'll just be annoying' or 'Don't talk to much no one wants to hear about your oc/ideas'. So I'm deeply sorry if it takes me a while to crash through the roof of your Messages/DMS/What have you and I want to thank anyone here for their patience.

THAT SAID.. Please feel free to tag me in things. Drop kick my messages door or my discord open, tag me in random starters, plot with me. I'm great with all of that. (I love that small serotonin boost I see when I'm tagged in something.)

I treat roleplay a lot like I treat when I play TTRPGs. I like having at least some sort of story but at the same time I appreciate the absurd shenanigans that can/will/might happen with a universe like Pokémon. I love the 'Yes And' and 'What if' to push a story along or introduce something new, to intertwine things about characters and in turn watch both sides grow as a result. But I also love the silly/wholesome shit, I feast upon silly things! (Like my current thread with Nikki's Hau where they're just making food! With sprinkles of 'oh hmm..' story beats.)

I've only just learned wtf 'Whump' and shit is. I really don't like it. I don't like one sided angst while the other is just a trauma dump punching bag. I LOVE angst, don't get me wrong, but I feel it needs to be built up, just like a good book. And it needs to be used on both sides. Not just for one person to trauma dump all over the place on a single character. (I played a villain in the MC Ask Blog community a year or two ago and saw WAY too much thrown at me as a result. I'm sick of it.)

I don't mind art and memes thrown at me. I eat them up, I will stare at them for hours on end like I just received life giving water. I don't care how absurd.

I love plotting. I love plotting dumb shit, serious shit, shit that likely won't happen for many, MANY threads. I love making connections, and even incorporating things into my character at the suggestions of others or thing that change in RP itself.

I love having multiple threads, don't ever feel like you are beholden to just 'one' with me.

If you need anything, a question asked, something changed or you have an idea but not sure how it might work? Ask, just ask me. I can always tweak things, modify things to fit in with something. Altra is a very 'young' OC in his development, and that makes him easily moldable for the future.

Finally, all I ask is to treat me, and those around you with the same respect you want yourself to be given. In the end, we all just want to write silly stories, and throw our characters at one another. <3
