Well, it's definitely been a wild ride across several different pairings and a few different continuities, new and old! Every story will be going up on AO3 in between my work on Novelember, but here is the big collective Masterpost of all of the fics (with notes about continuity and content warnings) that I managed to write over the course of October. Since apparently the Great Pumpkin decided to bring me the gift of being able to write smut this year, the stories with "lemonade stand content" will be marked with a 🍋 [lemon emoji]. Day 1: Autumn

Sastiel. Castiel takes a moment to appreciate the promise of the day and the one with whom he gets to share it.

Day 2: Spa Day

Sastiel. Sam gives Castiel a manicure, and Castiel has no time for Dean's more chauvinistic attitudes.

Day 3: Royalty

Sastiel, follow-up to Day 2. Castiel gives Sam a massage.

Day 4: Birthday

Gen, implied Sastiel. Canon-compliant, including the Finale. Sam really doesn't like celebrating his birthday for a lot of reasons.

Day 5: Scars

Sastiel, picks up from Day 3. It's Castiel's turn to get the royal massage treatment.

Day 6: Electric

Sastiel, prelude to Day 7. A case turns out not to be a case, leaving Sam and Castiel with a paid for motel room and a whole night of unexpected free time. No lemons yet, but the lube makes an appearance.

Day 7: Thankful 🍋

Sastiel, direct follow-on to Day 6. Castiel lays Sam out on the bed and gives thanks for the feast he is being given to enjoy. While the author is of the opinion that this is exactly the sort of content one should read in church, your respective clergical staff may not agree.

Day 8: Witch's Brew

Sastiel. Castiel eventually notices that Sam prefers tea to coffee and goes about ensuring his beloved can enjoy it more often.

Pre-Wincest (Sam is on board but Dean is oblivious), set in the werewolf!Sam'verse after Days 9 and 28 but before Day 13. Wolves don't like thunderstorms any better than small boys.

the binici princess. youngest of 5 siblings, ophelia was the only girl and her parents cherished that. her family came from old money, though not in the way you'd expect, and it showed. she lived a life of opulence from the day she was born, a silver spoon held gracefully in her mouth. ophelia was homeschooled by her mother her entire childhood, her parents thinking the american school system was focusing on the wrong things or at least not enough on what she should be taught. she was thrown into every extra curricular activity imagined, a schedule so busy she barely had time to breathe. the young girl thought her parents just wanted her to enjoy her life and have every opportunity possible but the reality was her mother was trying to protect her from the haunted halls of their home and what went on inside the walls of the estate.

ophelia had a more normal school experience for high school, if you could even call it that, being sent off to switzerland to attend a year round boarding school for rich kids and nepo babies. despite being in an unfamiliar environment, ophelia actually found herself while so far away from her family. her love for the ocean and its creatures grew stronger as well after finding out one of her teachers had studied shark migration for 5 years, she was starstruck.

here's the basic rundown on them!

some more things about them though:

i use the day i finish designing an oc as their birthday, so alto's is september 13. they're 23 at the time of bw2

full team is fearow, unfezant, swanna, rufflet and vullaby. they're like 4th-5th gym level kind of strength in battle

somewhat inspired by the time that as a kid i went to this beach, known for having a one-winged pelican around. i never got to see it but i always remembered it. alto's initial partner pokemon was going to be a pelipper, but i did want to give the underappreciated fearow (which i actually really like! a lot more than pelipper haha) a little spotlight. i still kept the one-winged pelipper concept - it's now the logo of the skyline sanctuary visible on alto's second outfit. it lives with the rest of alto's family at the sanctuary as one of the helper pokemon

taught themself how to sing and dance as a kid so they could play with the birds in the sanctuary, but ending up really liking it and they do it as a hobby. you could NOT convince alto to sing or dance in front of other people though. gun to their head they will not

sucks at throwing poke balls but thats what the capture styler's for

afraid of thunderstorms, not in the afraid of loud noises way but because their family are all extremely wary of them. they're dangerous times for bird pokemon so they have to be on guard during them, so even when they're not at the sanctuary, storms put them on edge

alto doesn't battle often, but people who have battled them think they're annoying to fight lmao. when facing wild pokemon as a ranger, their main tactics are dodging and disrupting to get openings to use their styler, and they incorporate those same tactics in their battles

also despite part of why i made alto being that they were going to be paired with n i dont think i explained their whole story here???

between the remains of team plasma that either joined neo team plasma or are making up for their actions in the driftveil safehouse, there's a small number that still fully believe pokemon should be separated from humans for their sake. they operate independently, still convincing some to release pokemon or outright stealing them just like the original plasma. this is one of the reasons some rangers were dispatched to unova to help recover these pokemon

alto gets assigned to capture and calm an ursaring who took its release very badly and is now rampaging through the forest. while searching for it, he runs across n who was busy playing with pansage so deep in the forest he didn't get the evacuation memo. n asks what someone else is doing so far into the woods, alto explains their mission, n volunteers to help, alto thinks thats insane you cant do that and leaves. "i don't need help. i got this"

they don't got this

they end up taking a direct slash, and it would have been worse had n not worried about someone going that far into the forest alone with a dangerous pokemon and went in the same direction. n jumps in, calms the ursaring himself, and drags alto out to get medical help

alto usually takes a while to warm up to new people but on account of n literally saving their life he gets to skip most of the aloof alto phase. they end up great friends, alto admiring n a lot

alto, however, has a very strong sense of justice and never forgives criminals. in particular they hate team plasma because of what they've had to witness firsthand. n is ex-plasma, the ex-King no less. n soon learns about alto's views and knows that he should tell alto the truth soon. its harder then when he told hilda though, he's already such good friends with alto and this aill likely ruin it

he finally ends up telling them about a year after their first meeting. just as he thought, alto's distraught and leaves

over the next month though alto feels like shit over the whole thing. yes they're not sure if they can trust n after he kept that information from them for a year. but n was different to how any of the still malevolent team plasma members were like...?

they happen to get assigned to work with the driftveil safehouse to help them handle some pokemon

surprise asshole n's sisters live there and they've been told all about you

both of them are reluctant to work with alto not just because of what happened with n but because it shows they don't trust anyone at the safehouse. for the sake of professionalism alto promises to put all bias aside and carry out whatever tasks needed of them

working with the safehouse makes them realize that people can change. every ex-plasma member here is genuinely trying their best to atone. alto finally admits to themself that they really screwed up with n and asks anthea and concordia if they can tell n they want to apologize. they slowly patch things up with him from there

vik era um bicho do mato, e das aguas, impossível de ser domada, apesar de se amansar com insistência, tempo e boa vontade. viveu a vida inteira isolada, com pouco ou nenhum contato humano além de suas tias (que nem tão humanas eram) e meia dúzia de marinheiros, sem construir vínculos, e por isso não sabe lidar. pense nela como aquele gato de rua que se assusta quando chegam perto, e na maior parte das vezes ataca, ou como juma, ou como a referência de criatura arisca que tiver. dito isso, sua reação quando chegou no acampamento não foi nada boa, podemos dizer que depois de tentar morder e atacar boa parte dos campistas ela foi... contida. não conseguia se ver como um deles. de bicho era chamada e assim se sentia. com o tempo não pôde fazer muita coisa além de aceitar, mesmo prometendo pros deuses e pro mundo que assim que pudesse iria escapar do local (pov primeira missão vem ai). atualmente se acostumou com o acampamento, construiu vínculos, historia. continua dizendo que quer e vai sair de lá assim que possível, mas no fundo está traumatizada também com o mundo de fora, então se contenta.

the morning after the "storm", woken up in between apple trees. nice morning as far as i can remember.

not much that i can from that day. the valley walls turn from mountain slopes into cliffs and close in around us. it's cozy, hot and slightly hazy. a. purchases a litre box of cheapest red wine and while on a rest stop near a rock wall nags me to help him. i fold. there's a lot of benches and they're all empty when we stop, but then suddenly fills with a bunch of families minutes later. i feel guilty about daydrinking in front of children. he doesn't seem to care.

the trail seems to miss all the small towns and aside from that rest stop it feels like we're alone. i certainly dissociate with the help of alcohol and dream of being there all alone. or with another woman, a friend, i could show the joys of long distance biking. basically anyone but him, but that's a thought that won't cross my mind for another year at least.

we cross the spot a. entered the valley on one of his previous solo bikepacking journeys and he reminisces going through cortina d'ampezzo and passo falzarego in thunderstorm, and his monstrous daily kilometer scores. i try not to be undermined, but it does get under my skin that we do half the distance of what he can do daily. this leads me to think it's obvious i'm the lead chain around his neck and he's bored out of his mind. "yeah, whatever" - i brush it off, as always.

once the alcohol wears down i once again realize i'm in dire need of a shower, and my ass starts to hurt more than it did before. we find an apt graffiti at another rest stop: someone wrote tour de asspain in sharpie on a bench - certainly another bicyclist. i feel you, man. ow.

afternoon brings about a tiny bit of breeze and a shadow of a chance of rain that doesn't come to fruition in the end. in our showering quest we finally find a beautiful, clear, waist deep rocky river near the trail (edit: i've found the spot! it's biotopo foci dell'avisio) and let me fucking tell you, that shower. oh dear heavens, those river baths. unironically, my favorite part is folding myself down on my knees on the water edge to wash my hair; total communion with nature. head upside down, body pressed into the ground, hair and hands in water. grounding supreme. i feel like a nymph for those five minutes i'm cool and my hair is damp, but unfortunately i have to apply a fat layer of sunscreen again. i bathe in my bathing suit, he goes commando. someone comes in on us but he's waist deep in the water. not that he'd mind.

once we exit the riverbank i notice the 'nature reserve' signs and i feel bad for polluting it with soap. there were tiny fish swimming between my legs after all.

we bike through trento at about 18:00. both hungry as fuck, we decide on kebabs. we eat on a bench by the river.

there's a cable train going over the river to the west, upper part of town. i mentally check it as a point to revisit. there's also a large population of house rabbits right by that next bridge.

we rush south in search of a sleeping spot. we land on a stretch of vineyards that look rough to find a place for a tent, but he seems to remember that he did find a place after all, and we find a beautiful, picturesque highway overpass that looks real damn tumblr aesthetic-y in the twilight light, and i could've sworn we took pictures, but i don't seem to have them today. we decide on a spot very near where he placed his tent those four? i think? years ago at that point. it's near a canal and a highway, so unfortunately loud and has mosquitoes, but it makes do for the night.

Snow and Rain to Hit U.S. as Winter Storms Intensify Ahead of Early Thanksgiving Travel

The first major winter storm of the season is the second in a series of storms sweeping across the U.S. this week, arriving as millions prepare to travel for Thanksgiving.

A powerful winter storm is poised to hit parts of the U.S. with accumulating snow, cold temperatures, strong winds, and rain, coinciding with the early Thanksgiving travel rush for millions.

The season's first widespread winter storm is the second in a pair of storms set to move across the U.S. this week.

The first storm system already triggered severe weather on Monday in the southern Plains and lower Mississippi Valley, including multiple Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings in parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

In Denton, Texas, strong winds from the storm knocked over at least two tractor-trailers on Interstate 35, one of which fell onto a pickup truck, according to the Denton County Office of Emergency Management.

Emergency officials reported that the southbound lanes of the interstate were closed while first responders investigated the incident.

A video captured in Weatherford, Oklahoma, showed powerful winds and heavy rain sweeping across the area as the severe weather moved through early Monday morning.

A photo shared by the Somervell County, Texas, Fire Department showed a trailer blown onto its side by strong winds in the area.

As the storm system moves northward this week, arctic air will collide with it, paving the way for widespread snow across the Dakotas and possibly extending into parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Strong winds are forecast to develop on the western side of the system by Tuesday, with gusts reaching 50-60 mph in the Dakotas.

The FOX Forecast Center warned that travel along Interstate 29 from Fargo, North Dakota, to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and along Interstate 94 from Fargo to Bismarck, North Dakota, could become hazardous as rain transitions to snow.

By Wednesday, cities like Minneapolis, Green Bay, and Milwaukee in Wisconsin will be on alert for possible snow showers throughout the day as colder air wraps around the storm system.

Winter Storm to Disrupt Early Thanksgiving Travel

The FOX Forecast Center warns that the second storm could have a widespread impact, particularly as people begin traveling for Thanksgiving.

A powerful low-pressure system is expected to form in the Ohio River Valley and Great Lakes region, rapidly intensifying as it moves over the Great Lakes later this week. This system will bring high winds across the region and into the eastern U.S.

As the storm shifts toward the mid-Atlantic and Northeast by week's end, cold air from trailing winds is expected to create a large band of snow in the Ohio River Valley.

The coldest air will be on the southern side of the storm system, moving into the Appalachian Mountains.

According to the FOX Forecast Center, this region is where snowfall is possible, including parts of the Ohio Valley, northern mid-Atlantic, and interior Northeast, from the end of the week into the weekend. However, forecasters noted significant uncertainty regarding the amount of cold air available for snow.

Currently, the National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Watches for the mountains of eastern West Virginia and the western Maryland Panhandle, from Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening.

Lake-effect snow is also a concern, but it will be unpredictable, depending on the storm's track. As of now, the air may be too warm to support significant lake-effect snow.

The storm at the end of the week and into the weekend across the Northeast could disrupt air and road travel just as the Thanksgiving travel period begins.

A bomb cyclone is also expected to impact the West.

Out West, a powerful bomb cyclone linked to a major atmospheric river is expected to drench the region from California to Washington this week, raising the risk of flooding.

The term "bomb cyclone" refers to the meteorological phenomenon known as "bombogenesis" or "explosive cyclogenesis," which occurs when a storm's central pressure drops by at least 24 millibars within 24 hours.

A large surge of moisture is forecast to arrive on Tuesday night, likely lingering through late in the week and potentially into the weekend, according to the FOX Forecast Center.
