Thoughts on ep 6? I see a lot of praise for it but I'm like 🤔. A lot of things were annoying and illogical and I don't like what they're doing with most of the characters this season. Now even Daemon gets a redemption arc, Aegon is the biggest victim of his family, but Aemond is 100 % evil, Helaena barely appears at all (at this point Sylvie and Dyana might be more important to the story). I'm just disappointed.
Hello dear.
I'm terribly tired of this season, it's a complete disappointment. Many fan theories and fanfictions are better written than this series. I don't know what writers get their money for. The whole season 2 is like Groundhog Day. The sixth episode is just water.
We continue to be shown Daemon, his hallucinations and his “redemption”. We are promoted that he loved his brother, but this love did not extend to Viserys’ other children. Daemon and Rhaenyra actually spent their entire lives ignoring, neglecting, rejecting, and abusing Alicent's children because their grandfather was Otto. Viserys did not accept his children because ANOTHER WOMAN gave birth to them. Alicent's children were indeed discriminated against by their paternal relatives. Therefore, I do not believe in the propaganda of Daemon's redemption, that Rhaenyra is kind, and Viserys is a good parent. Besides, I'm terribly tired of all these hallucinations in Harrenhal. It was interesting in the beginning, but now it's endless repetition.
The pointless scenes of Rhaenyra and Daemon could have been spent on a story arc with the north and Sarah Snow, showing Daeron, more scenes to Helaena.
It looks like we have Daemon, Rhaenyra and Alicent, other characters, playing the role of «trees» or «decorations» for them.
They decided to show Aegon as a victim. This is a cheap scenario move to divide the TG stans into two camps: those who support Aemond and those who support Aegon. As if we weren't already divided into helaemond stans and anti-helaemond long ago. Aegon could have been given a bit of heroism to get burned by Rhaenys. But we have what we have. The dynamic between Aegon and Aemond reminds me of the dynamic between Viserys and Daenerys. It really is déjà vu, but I don't believe the writers intended it that way.
Aemond tries to deal with the problems that Aegon and Rhaenyra created. The birth of the rebellion began after Aegon carried out a reign of terror by hanging the rat-catchers. Rhaenyra set up a blockade. Aemond closed the gates, but if he had not done this, the entire infrastructure would have stopped working, since there would be no people left in the capital. It's cruel, but it's true and it's wartime. The problem is that Aegon, as king, failed to convey to the people that they were starving because of Rhaenyra, staged a public execution and fired Otto. Aemond can no longer do anything, because the mechanism has already been launched and a riot was inevitable.
I don't think they're trying to make Aemond evil, but the normies will think he's evil. He is cruel to his brother for personal reasons, he fired Alicent (which I support him on) because she loves Rhaenyra (Alicent actually had a chance to end the war in episode 3, but she loves Rhaenyra more than her children). Aemond brought Otto back because he knows that his grandfather is the best Hand.
I feel bad for Helaena the most. I really believed that she would be on the small council. Ewan talked a lot about Helaena: “She is good with books and money.” I'm really upset. We weren't even shown the Dreamfyre. Why does Alice Rivers have more screen time in the Targaryen story? Where is Helaena's coronation?
Alys Rivers is absolutely disgusting to me. She's a maniac on the hunt for Targaryen sperm. She drives Daemon crazy like a brain parasite. I hope people stop romanticizing alysmond, because the same thing awaits Aemond.
Sylvia was offended that Aemond no longer came to her and did not pay her money, so she decided to spread lies about him that he was throwing a feast in the castle. Even Diana doesn't believe her because she served the royal family and knew Aemond's character. Sylvia is not a hero, she owns a brothel. She abused (ra**d) 13 year old Aemond and I'm sure other children too. She manipulated Aemond, and when he left, she decided to take revenge on him.
Rhaena was given the Nettles line, which is quite disappointing. Once again the writers show that in TB this is the Mary Sue team. The writers actually decided to remove the cool character because they didn't want to ruin daenyra.
Helaemond is pain. The writers decided to gaslight us. The entire written plot in the first season was destruction, all the potential was destruction. Ewan and Phia say that Helaemond was not in the scripts, but I don't believe it. There are many scenes and hints in the second half of the first season.
House of the Dragon is truly a complete disappointment for those with critical thinking skills. The scriptwriters' favoritism is not even hidden.
Bring back Miguel! He is the only one who knows how to write a script and characters!
We have two more episodes, but there's not much hope.
p.s.
Aemond showed Larys his place and immediately understood his manipulation - the best scene of the whole season.

Do you think Alys is a spirit or ghost of Harrenhal because Simon Strong looked at Daemon in a strange way when he walked into the room after Daemon talked with her about the consequences of war on everyday people...I like that idea because I never liked Alys using Aemond or being a girlboss, taking everything from him and using his child, of it really was his, for power only. Also if Alys is real, the show says she's around 400 years old, so it would be disgusting if Aemond had not only a "relationship " with her but also a toxic one.
Good day/night to you!
The possibility of Alys being some kind of spirit that haunts Harrenhal (or rather sinners who cross its threshold) is indeed quite interesting.
I gave some thought to it as well - and it's not that crazy an idea, actually. But there is a practical point that still leaves me wondering about some things: is Alys a spirit that somehow can take a physical form (can touch objects and people etc.)? Who put a bandage on Daemon's hand? Who made a concoction that he drank? Or did he hallucinate the entirety of it?
Or maybe Alys is a real person who can somehow make herself visible only when she chooses to? So many options.
As for Alys' relationship with Aemond, I personally would like to see them forming an emotional connection even if power play was still involved. Ewan mentioned that "someone is going to help Aemond" referring to him being broken but it's hard to guess whether he was talking about his future involvement with Alys, the scenes with Helaena being Aemond's emotional support (that are coming according to the leaks) after his fallout with Alicent or something else entirely. To be honest, after everything we've seen this season I would not be surprised if the writers make Alysmond into the "the feminist bastard witch avenges everyone resident evil man killed by binding said villain to her using his mommy issues" thing. Hope dies last though.

I don't understand why so many greenies claim alysmond is an epic love story and nothing in FnB indicates Aemond ever raped Alys. They also call themselves Alys stans , but act as if they wanted to reduce her arc to straight up porn. It's totally disgusting how they fetishize her age and deem her a "witchy milf"
Completely agree with you anon.

I was going to keep it cute, but @darklinaforever am I that interesting to the point where you want to stalk me boo🙃
Tumblr media
You’ve been wilding out about me for two days straight now because you found out we have a ship in common(Zutara; yes folks this unedited Google Doc is so butthurt over us both liking Zutara she started losing her mind🤣):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How are you disgusted by Dettles yet you ship an incestuous abusive relationship🤡You obviously don’t have standards so how is it that Daemon and Nettles where you draw the line?
Don’t think I don’t know why your a** really is disgusted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Would you like to be a servant to your own family? Again how do you think Alysmond is rape, yet you think a man being with his 14-year-old niece who he eventually abandons for another woman is romantic 🤡
You’re ashamed to be in the same fandom as me? Well dear, the feeling is mutual cause I’m utterly devastated I’m in the same fandom as some white chick over talking Black women in order to deny anti-Black racism:
Tumblr media
And yes this fandom has a goddamn misogynoir problem when y’all say bullsh*t like the above and this crap:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You want to avoid all of that, be my guest, but don’t expect me to play stupid with you. I’m not mammy darling.
At this point y’all(cause I know it’s not just you, but your whole little posse of racists/self hating weirdos) should be embarrassed by your lies and the fact that I’m living rent free in your heads.
The block button is free girl. (See I’m being nice cause I could block you myself, but since your so ashamed and disgusted I’ll let you have this one). Utilize it and save yourself the mental anguish of having to see my posts.

Hello, love your blog. I was wondering what are the things you would like to see in the next season(s) of HotD? Honestly, I'm not really hopeful and was quite disappointed how they handled some important characters and storylines in season 1, but I'll give a chance to season 2. If it disappoints me, well, at least I tried. The thing that worries me the most is the fact that it will only have 8 episodes because I think that could only harm the pacing. Anyway, here are some of the things I would like to see:
1. First of all, I want Alicent to stop being so apologetic and finally show some teeth. Team blank already hates her with passion and I want to see her acting for real like they were pretending she was acting in season 1. Let her be decisive, resentful of Rhaenyra, unconditionally supporting and protective of her children. I don't want to see any of "my old childhood friend" bullshit anymore. It was a good idea to start the story, but that is also something that should have been dead and buried long ago, especially after Driftmark. How could she actually approach Rhaenyra after the dinner and act all apologetic and humble again, even after that same "friend" asked for her maimed son to be "sharply questioned". No mother should get over it and I don't want to see "Rhaenyra is actually the most important to Alicent" narrative again. It would also be interesting to see the development of her relationship with Criston, not necessarily in a romantic way.
2. More Helaena screentime and her dreams/visions. I would like them to give her more importance and agency than she had in the book, especially after B&C. Explore her relationship with her family, make her an actual character, not just a "weird bug girl," "an innocent victim",...Same goes for Aemond and Aegon. I want to see Aegon as a complex character struggling with his new position, but also learning how to be more responsible and perceptive. Give me some intense scene between him and Aemond where they actually confront each other and finally express the way they see their place in the Targaryen family, how they cope(d) with their father's neglect, maybe discussion about Helaena and her abilities. I would really like to see some scenes between the green kids like the ones the Lannisters had in GoT, especially in the early seasons. This show needs something like that because it lacks depth when it comes to certain relationships. And yes, they better finally give Dreamfyre and Sunfyre the attention they deserve.
3. As for Aemond, I must say I'm not looking forward to his Harrenhal storyline, I prefer him in KL and interacting with his family. Furthermore, I'm not an Alys fan, when it comes to Aemond ships I'm more Rhaemond (will never become canon, I know) and Helaemond (might become canon, but not very likely) so I believe this Alysmond relationship will probably be something like Daemyra, deeply problematic and toxic, but quite popular among the fans. I just hope they won't make it some great love story because it won't make much sense imho. And of course, more scenes between him and Vhagar to show their bond and similarities. I'll never forgive them not including her roar when he lost an eye.
4. Give Baela and Rhaena more agency. Maybe some confrontation with their father and/or stepmother wouldn't hurt. If they really intend to depict Baela as Daemon no2 I'll probably hate her lol, but three is still hope for Rhaena. I've always imagined that she would be disgusted with B&C.
5. Include Sara Snow storyline. Regardless of what some people say, there are no romantic feelings between Jace and Baela imo and she will probably have another romantic interest, so why not give something to Jace to make his story more interesting? I don't believe in Cregan xJace and the way some TB fans defend that relationship as more acceptable and less harmful to his betrothal to Baela is ridiculous. Cheating is cheating, so why Sara isn't acceptable, but Cregan is? And anyway, that betrothal was forced upon them to cover for Rhaenyra's mistakes, so let Jace be rebellious for once, not just meek and dutiful. We've seen his darker side so they could explore that a bit more.
6. Please, don't make Nettles Daemon's daughter. Honestly, this is a tough one since their relationship was strange in the book too, but whatever they do, I hope they won't make her his daughter.
7. Don't make B&C a botched kidnapping or something. That would be too much and could actually make me stop watching
8. Show more cases of the dragons acting on their own, like Vhagar and Arax at Shipbreaker's Bay. Explore more "the idea that we control the dragons is an illusion". I want to see that on both sides, it would especially be interesting with the more experienced riders.
9. A good Rhaenyra vs Alicent confrontation scene. At least one.
10. No more Larys/Alicent scenes like the one in episode 9. Please.
Hey, thanks so much for the ask!
To be honest, you perfectly summarized everything I’d like to see in season two although my hopes are extremely low. The first season was a complete disaster with characters changing personalities every five seconds I don’t even want to know what they’ll turn season two into.
I think the only things I have to add are that I don’t want them giving all of Aegon’s storylines to Aemond. The writers have really gone out of their way to make Aegon as unlikable as possible and if it wasn’t for TGC’s efforts the character would be entirely unlikable. Aegon’s main redeeming quality in the books was his love for his family and his siblings so I’ll probably stop watching if they show him being in a brothel while blood and cheese happens, or if they’ll have Aemond executing them instead of Aegon.
Also, concerning blood and cheese, I have heard rumors/theories about how Dyana is supposedly going to be involved in it which I find absolutely atrocious. What are you trying to achieve at this point?? First you have to make him a rapist for some reason, and now you want to make his rape victim look like a terrible person by making her an accomplice to child murder.
I hate what they did to Beala in Rhaela, their inheritance was stolen and apparently they’re completely thrilled being the cupbearers of the woman their father married days after their mothers death and who is rumored to have killed their uncle. I hate how they took away all their agency and made them happy being married to Rhaenyra sons.
Most of all, I want the show to stop picking sides and nitpicking what they want to present as abuse and what they’re going to ignore (you can’t say anyone who supports Aegon is a rape apologist, while giving pedo wifekiller Daemon a free pass)
The only way to make the next season interesting is by depicting both sides as nuanced and morally Grey instead of making it into a good vs evil shit show

Find it very funny how someone with a handle that shows they very clearly can’t stand Aemond as a character replied to tumblr comments made from a YEAR ago claiming that the showrunners can’t do anything in adapting alysmond’s relationship or add any sort of complexity that takes away from the fact that their relationship is not consensual and he is a r*pist. “No amount of pet names or cute moments will change that.” They are so unbelievably incapable of critical thought towards fiction. It’s unbelievable how they attack anyone who sees a FICTIONAL DYNAMIC as compelling and interesting. They had the audacity to accuse someone of “victim-blaming” for thinking Alys genuinely wanted to be with him of her own free will. You can absolutely recognize their circumstances were problematic but that does NOT mean people who enjoy dark pairings in media condone r*pe and to insinuate that is honestly disgusting. They even have “alysmond shipper? go kys” in their bio 💀 Imagine going that far because someone enjoys the possibility of a haunted romance. Just insane.
OMG 💀💀
I haven't seen this blog yet but there's a good possibility that I am already blocked by this individual... since my own blog doesn't shy away from showcasing my explicit biases for certain characters and their ships lol.
That being said, how FUCKING sad?? I totally get not liking a popular character or one of their ships, but to go out and make an entirely new blog dedicated to posting/reblogging 'anti- X' tags is so beyond ridiculous! It's a work of FICTION we're talking about here; how can another person's opinions really affect your own well-being? Asking people to KYS over a ship/character is the epitome of LOSER behaviour. I do consider myself a TG sympathizer, but I CANNOT imagine myself enjoying a fandom without my lovely moots who certainly don't align with my tastes or biases. That's why I try not to use anti- tags in my posts, opting instead for pro- ones which better represent my stance on a topic/discussion.
Anyway, I would just ask y'all to let them be! It's everyone's right to curate a fandom experience to their own liking. While I don't like my own experience to be this isolated, I can't fault anyone else looking to have their own 'exclusive' fandom experience.
That's all! 🤗

okay, so, hi... here to ask a serious question: is there anyone else here who finds the aemond/LUCERYS ship DEEPLY disturbing??? like really, really fucking bad. the disgusting, chris hansen vibes, "have a seat" kind of bad
LUCERYS is a CHILD killed by aemond in an accident. aemond's so called obsession with lucerys is due to his wounded pride and a missing eye, nothing else ffs. WHERE DID THESE PEOPLE FIND ANYTHING ROMANTIC IN THE POOR'S MAN ATTEMPT TO AVENGE HIS EARLY CHILDHOOD MUTILATION??? WHY SHIP AN OLDER (ae is like 17 while lucerys is 13), FULLY GROWN MAN LOOKING GUY WITH A LITERAL CHILD???
no fucks would've been given if this sick ship hadn't become one of the leading fanons in the fandom... it's even more popular than Aemond/Helaena (which is actually somewhat canon compliant). people are insane
SCREAM IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK NONNIE 🗣
No worries nonnie, I’m certain a LOT of people on this blog will agree with you — because I myself do. LIKE SERIOUSLY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK????
I have all the tags related to that ship filtered because I can’t stand seeing it 🤢 And needless to say I swear to god I got fucking tired of seeing Lucemond art (WHICH IS SO WELL MADE I WANT TO CRY??? WHY CHOOSE THAT SHIP?) on my Pinterest feed that I had to see if I could block some users that did all things Lucemond related.
Also I seriously can’t believe it’s one of the leading ships in the fandom... I would’ve believed Daemyra, Alysmond, Rhaenicent, Helaemond are the leading ships — NOT LUCEMOND????? I mean I respect everyones ships but this crosses a big ass limit for me.
And on GOD trust me when I say I have blocked people with so badly sick content about this ship, my blocklist is long af. One of them did Bunny!Luke and Aemond fetishist content (... with... gasses and all of that I can’t even explain it because I literally physically recoil...), another one did MPreg Lucemond, other one Lucemond related tickle content???? I swear to god I get stomach aches and feel ill whenever I see something like that.
It’s just creepy not "enemies to lovers" trope, Aemond literally killed Luke in a poor attempt to hunt him down out of spite for what he did when they were children. It’s literally disgusting.
THANK YOU for speaking out about this. It had to be said and I sincerely feel tired of seeing this shitty ass ship every-fucking-where.

Alysmond : Hades and Persephone AU
Prince Aemond grew up amongst luxury and all the pleasures of life at his disposal. But being into royalty wasn’t enough for his ambition. He was a Prince? He wanted to be king. He was mocked for not having a dragon? He needed to claim the largest one alive. He was brilliant at wielding the sword, philosophy and history? He wanted to be the best. The one eyed never seemed to be happy with the brightness around him. “It won’t last forever so why not make the best of it?” Ser Criston always told him during their training. It was his want for more that kept him from doing so.
When the young Prince was made to send a message to the Riverlands, he flew there himself. Somehow he managed to stumble into a goddess’s den and was enchanted, a bit disgusted but whatever.
Alys Rivers grew up with nothing. A bastard of house Strong and nothing more. But she cemented herself as a danger. “A witch who bathes in blood to keep herself young”, “go near her den and you’ll be tortured before you die a painfully slow death”, “she practices magic of the darkest kind, stay away”.
She wasn’t used to visitors, let alone princes who were way too cocky for their own good quickly making himself at home.
(side note : this is still very much rooted in canon and is sort of canon divergence but like a full on Greek gods AU sounds really fun as well)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Concepts
For the aesthetic :
Aemond with braids and decaying flowers in his hair
Alys wearing a crown of bones
Them sharing a pomegranate
Aemond in a flowy mesh shirt
The handle of his sword being designed with various flowers and vines imagery
Alys in a long dark cloak embellished with gold
Her slowly strumming her fingers on a skull
Them covered in blood (I’m not crazy, I promise)
Alys untying his corset
Aemond having dark blood lipstick stains near his mouth, on his jaw and neck
For the “plot” :
Criston and Alicent filling in the role of Demeter and frantically writing letters to Aemond to come back home
Them killing every Strong and Harrenhal becoming their underworld
Alys “petting” Vhagar as though the dragon is a three headed puppy
Them vowing they’ll burn anything and anyone for each other
Them bonding over their ambition

that anon is totally off lol I mean there are unhinged people from every section but people who enjoy alysmond like their potential and what they could be and are constantly getting private quote tweeted on twitter for no reason. most of them literally stay in their lane and tons of people who want helaemond are annoyed that alys is a character who is his canon love interest. there’s literally nothing that ties daemyra and them together 💀 she didn’t know him as a kid and there’s also a big likelihood they’ll be casting a younger actress since her age is debated due to the youthfulness she had (which is why people speculated she practiced witchcraft).
disagree. i am on hotd twitter and have been bullied by alysm*nds for no reason. a lot of people in hotd fandom who didn't even read the books didn't know who she was until alysm*nds started making some lame tweets about how "those people's ship will crumble when alys comes on". they're the most antagonistic part of green twt and the green fandom in general so i will have to disagree.
and there is. huge age difference (it's very funny to me that from what i witnessed the alys takes went from "yess give me 40 year old sexy milf" to "i'm sure they'll cast someone young, the maesters were misogynstic"), there is reason to interpret their book relationship as non con to a degree (towards alys), alys stans use the "you're a misogynst if you don't like this character" just as rhaenyra stans do, and not that i disagree but throwing around "aemond is 19 when they meet" sounds exactly like da*myra discourse.
i'm sorry but when it comes to this, the discourse is unhinged. funniest but also most disgusting insult i got was from an alys stan tweeting to their mutual saying i'm being a misogynst ageist towards alys and in the same breath calling me a 30 year old hag who should get a job.
i've been called a number of names and for a while i really did try to scroll past the "not these freaks not shipping aemond with his wife tweets" and "see y'all freaks when alys comes on and your ship crumbles" and "can helaena manic pixie girl dies faster so they stop projecting on her" tweets but i'm also really tired of letting this bs fly.
not to mention the amount of greenies who use "you're secretly team black" and "you're just a da*myra stan undercover" on people who enjoy helaemond.
so no, i do not think they are the victims and i do think they started the discourse around it and until they're not gonna keep each other in check about taunting everyone else, the discourse will never end.
not interested to discuss this further tho! so if you disagree we will have to agree to disagree!

It’s not “over-analyzing” to assume an actor knows his character well and has talked to the writers/showrunners about how he’s been framed. “Not to mention he was largely talking about Aemond pre-claiming Vhagar” No, he was saying that Vhagar is his only friend and companion. No one’s analyzing his words like he’s in a court of law but you can not be “behind the scenes” of your family and “never experience unconditional love” (the actor’s own words) while having a lover and being a father. That just does not hold any logic. I’m not trying to convince you of anything but Ewan saying “he was never really there” while growing up doesn’t indicate that he would impregnate his sister with several bastards. Theorizing is cool but people acting as if his words are irrelevant to fit their own headcanons is very weird. Actors can have their own interpretations but Ewan doesn’t strike most people as the type of actor who would create his own HC that’s not aligned with what Miguel and Ryan have told him. His whole motivation is about duty. He calls the Strongs bastards with revulsion and disgust. And then people actually think he would then make his sister mother bastards? It’s probably the most illogical route they could ever take his character in (regardless of ships and pretty fan-art). Even if he did have feelings for her as a ten year old kid, acting on them multiple times is a whole other story.
Anon, I'm not trying to convince you of anything either. I was asked by multiple people in my own inbox and I gave my thoughts on the matter. I'm not going over to anyone's accounts trying to push any agenda. I've already said repeatedly I wasn't going to get my knickers in a twist if this doesn't become canon. So what are we doing here, if, like you said, theorizing is fine?
I'm not having a go, it's just that I don't know how many more times I can repeat the same things. I feel like I already went over those arguments in my helaemond tag & in the previous asks I received today and yesterday. I already talked about how I think Aemond interacts with the issue of bastardy here when I was asked about alysmond.
I'm not discounting Ewan's take on his own character either; I'm just pointing out there's a lot more than goes into a character's on-screen construction than just the actor. I don't believe that is a wild assertion.
You are correct in underlining that there are various levels of helaemond, from having-a-crush to bastard-fathering. However, I've been pretty consistent in pointing out that it's the show-runners choice whether to run with this or not or what flavour of it they settle on. Nowhere have I pretended that this ship is canon, I merely tried to explain where people got helaemond vibes in the first place.

one thing i keep seeing about how alysmond is inherently problematic because aemond is a rapist and anyone who ships them in the show or is excited to see them in the show condones this
and here’s the little goof people keep ignoring
alys hasn’t been established in the show! we have 0 context foe how this relationship will play out. and i think people wanting to interpret them differently in a non-problematic way (as per the course of the show taking creative adaptive liberties with everything else) is not a bad thing, nor is it being “willfully ignorant” of the text (which is rife with second-hand retelling bias and void of interpersonal detail anyway)
but you what HAS been established by the show? the fact that aemond is very likely a victim of CSA. so all i’m hearing from people when you say things about how he rapes alys, is that you want a victim to become an abuser as Gotcha to reinforce whatever other ship YOU want for him??? and somehow no one seems to think THAT is fucking weird???
there’s also the willful ignorance about how grooming works and alys— REGARDLESS of how their relationship forms— is in a position of power over aemond to be able to do this. and again, throwing these words around about alys being a groomer, assaulting aemond, etc (despite none of that even existing in the text) just as some Gotchas to make people who like alys rivers seem like pervy freaks.
and i cannot emphasize enough how disgusting it is to use aemond’s likely SA as “evidence” that alys WILL assault him too??? because you dont actually care about aemond being a victim, you just don’t like a ship, that’s it.
and to be clear, none of this doing a thing to serve any larger conversation. because you all saw people wanting to interpret this dynamic in a healthier way for Both characters based off the show’s context for aemond and how alys COULD be characterized in the show and yall said NO ACTUALLY, ONE OF THEM NEEDS TO BE A RAPIST AND ABUSER AND BECAUSE I SAID SO NOW YOU CONDONE ABUSE :)
which to be honest, this says a lot more about you all than it does about anyone who enjoys alys rivers as a character or alysmond as a ship, especially because you all just want more incest and that’s it

Why do u think of the theory that Aemond actually cares for Helena and the kids are his? I actually wouldn’t mind it because he might be more tolerable. Helena is the only likable green at all. Like it would add some humanity to him that wouldn’t be annoying or bad writing. Maybe… and the irony that he killed Luc and we don’t know if the Blacks would know the son is Aeomond’s… Team Black ONLY: thoughts??
Frankly, for the book, this theory is clearly a throwaway.
But it could be possible in the show given how these writers do anything, and the fact that technically it could clearly work with what was briefly shown in season 1.
Already there is the fact that it was Helaena specifically who prophesied that Aemond would lose an eye. We are introduced that she is a dreamer through Aemond.
Tumblr media
Also Aemond did not seem at all against the idea of marrying Helaena and did not seem to like how Aegon II spoke of her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Generally speaking, Helaena is always placed next to Aemond.
Tumblr media
Without forgetting the moment where Jace invites Helaena to dance which seems to annoy him, even if this is also the case for Aegon II and it is probably due to a simple rivalry between Aemond and the Velaryon boys, but compiled by the rest that may raise questions.
Tumblr media
There are also these weird scenes in episode 9 where Helaena catches Aemond's look when he enters the room.

And then she always seems close to him during the coronation of Aegon II, still leaning towards Aemond.

Plus the fact that she seems to caress / touch his arm when Rhaenys attacks.

It could clearly make it into the show.
I am both for and against. Already I am against because of the book. More whitewashing for Aemond in the show...
But on the other hand, I could agree that already, at least Helaena could have had a little respite by having her children with someone 'one she likes.
And then also, the Green stans could no longer open up about the fact that the Velaryons boys are illegitimate children or about the fact that there is no incest in their team (at least consented and therefore abominable according to their term, even if Aegon II has already made sexual advances towards Baela who is his family, so still incest, but hey, apparently Aegon II is against incest ! 😂).
Honestly, I think if that happened it would just make me laugh.
And I would love to see Alicent's reaction to this, she who harassed Rhaenyra for years for not having her children with Laenor when her own daughter would have done the same.
That would be delicious.
Although I know some green stans would love to see Helaena & Aemond perform. Again, not really consistent with most of their initial comments but hey ! It's not like we should look for logic in the Green stans after all, or even in the basic HOTD show...
In any case, I will always choose Helaemond if they want to do something "romantic" with the character of Aemond, to avoid dealing with the romanticization of Alysmond... Definitely a woman that Aemond raped, since he took her as a prize of war, and it disgusts me to see this being romanticized.
But anyway, in the sole context of HOTD with what season 1 gave us, yes, Aemond being the father of Helaena's children could totally pass if that's what the writers want to do.
But honestly, Helaemond shp is just a pale copy of the Aemon & Naerys relationship in my eyes.

people who ship aemond x alys
Well... Aemond took Alys as a prize of war and raped her there as a result.
Logical that we detect this relationship.
As far as I know Daemon didn't rape Rhaenyra, or anyone for that matter (nor committed crimes of the same horrible kind that Aemond did).
And he even less groomed Rhaenyra like so many people who don't know the definition of that word or how the feudal era works like to shout.
Alysmond is a disgusting relationship, and the fact that so many people would romanticize it disgusts me.

Alys is Aemonds war Prisoner. He killed her family. Alys is allegedly a witch who used spells to make Aemond fall in love with her. Alys is in her 40s while Aemond hasn’t even reached his 20s. Aemond is a Prince. Alys is a low-born bastard. Nettles is low-born bastard. Daemon is a Prince. Daemon is in his 40s. Nettles isn’t even in her 20s. Nettles is “allegedly” a witch who used spells to claim a dragon and make Daemon fall in love with her (mind you I say “allegedly” cause only one person is saying that).
Both of these couples aren’t the healthiest example of what one should strive for in a relationship but to idolize one and vilify the other and those who like the other is a tad bit odd, especially considering when you go onto said persons page they ship far more questionable things lol.
In terms of Alysmond vs Dettles we can have or preferences, but in terms of being problematic they can be considered equally yoke due to the power imbalance issues(princes getting with small folk women without really a pot to piss in). They mirror each other.
Now I personally do think Daemon and Aemond loved their respective ladies(and the magic thing is ridiculous*), but yeah one can not ignore that they also had a lot more power in the relationships. Nettles and Alys could’ve easily been screwed over and left with nothing or left to join their ancestors if their men didn’t care for them.
*For the naysayers, when you take both relationships into account it’s really easy to see that the magic thing is the ramblings of a crazed racist and maester propaganda. If Alys had powers like that it would’ve worked on Daemon too and not just on Aemond. Especially if what Missy Anne said about Nettles was true. How could Nettles’ magic work on Daemon, but not Alys’ magic? Anyone who believes Nettles is an actual witch is especially stupid among other things.
That being said, nearly every relationship in F&B is problematic in some way or another. Despite the issues with these two couples have at least there is love there.
Now what is even more annoying is seeing the incest/eugenics crew (who are fine with a niece being groomed by her uncle or some siblings getting together) say these relationships are “disgusting” or are, “too problematic.”
Ship what you like, but you are living in a house of cards. You got no leg to stand on if you stan team lizard babies.

I wouldn’t have a problem with people who don’t ship Dettles until I see they ship Viserys x Aemma, Daemyra, Alysmond, Rhaenicent etc. I myself am not the biggest Dettles stan (the age-gab and the power dynamic turns me off a little but I mostly put it to the back burner since it’s GOT/HOTD) but seeing people ship outright abuse but then say people who ship Dettles are disgusting is odd 🫠
Yeah, I totally get not shipping Dettles. A barely legal girl with a man who is pushing 50 is questionable. However, if you go “Dettles is disgusting, you are a pervert if you like them together,” then you proceed to go stanning and cheering on another ship that is equally if not more problematic, you have to question what’s really going on here🙃
