"we're gonna have to run for it." or... the one where you and chris are on a walk downtown, but the clouds above you turn grey pretty quickly. warnings: none! cute little fluff fic with chris <3 word count: 552 a/n: last post tn probably! i am sleeeepy and i have 6+ hours of work tmr so i need to rest!

going on walks with chris was a daily occurrence for the two of you. it was nice to get out of the house each day, get a breath of fresh air, even if it was only fifteen or twenty minutes.

you loved watching the rain from the inside, but you hated when it rained out your walks with chris, because that was special, alone, quality time that the two of you specifically cut out of your day to spend with each other.

but, you always made something else work. however, today you'd been out walking, enjoying the sun on your skin, for about an hour. you and chris had talked about everything under the moon, from breakfast that morning, to a joke matt made, to whatever your boss complained about that afternoon.

it wasn't until after you'd stopped in a shop to grab some drinks for the two of you that you looked up, noticing some grey clouds that had recently appeared.

"looks like it's gonna rain."

chris pulled out his phone, checking his radar.

"it doesn't look like it's supposed to start for another forty five minutes. it's only a twenty minute walk back to the house, we'll have plenty of time."

you nodded, taking a sip of your soda as you passed him his, taking his free hand in yours. you walked in silence for a little while, enjoying the comfortability of your relationship, before you felt a droplet hit your head.

you were only a five minute walk from your shared home, and you looked up before looking at chris.

"did you feel that?"

he shook his head.

"feel what?"

you reached out your hand, feeling more droplets hit it.

"the rain is starting."

chris groaned, covering his open drink.

"of course it is."

the droplets fell faster and faster, beginning to make a pattering sound on the sidewalk and the neighboring windows. you laughed, picking up your pace before putting the cap on your soda and shoving it into your bag.

"we're going to have to make a run for it."

"there is no way you're serious."

his face looked at you like he was begging for you to be joking.

"unless you want to get drenched! last one home has to do dishes for a week!"

and with that you took off, right as the bottom of the clouds fell out, and water began racing down from the sky, hitting all around you. giggling as the water ran down your face, you saw chris running behind you, desperate to catch up, the threat of a week's worth of dishes almost powering him as much as the feeling of being soaking wet.

by the time you made it to your home, you were both beginning to drip from your clothes, but as you slammed the door shut behind you and chris, you couldn't do anything but laugh. your laugh was infectious, and chris couldn't contain himself either, the joy from spending time with you enough to produce his own bubbly giggles.

"we just got absolutely drenched, run or not."

you shrugged.

"but i beat you here, so you're on dish duty for the week."

you hurried upstairs to take a hot shower, chris right on your heels, protests about how you cheated and gave yourself a headstart.

From top to bottom left to right:

Favorite Companion: Karlach - I feel like this is self-explanatory at this point. Don't get me wrong though, I genuinely love the lot of them and want to solve their little (read: big) problems.

Favorite Act: Hard to pick - I do like the whole game a lot but the first act is very wandering with a lot of side-quests (which I am a sucker for) and I particularly like the Mountain Pass and Underdark.

Favorite Class: In D&D and in BG3 it's Barbarian, I love hitting things a lot and taking damage like a mofo. I'm currently playing a Path of Beast barb in a D&D campagin, but I love a classic Berserker.

Favorite Storyline: I mean come on, it's Karlach, anger, grief, acceptance, mortality - it's still what I need as I got through chemo... again. I may not have someone I can say it's their fault, but it is still amazing to look at a plot in a video game and go "That! That's what it feels like!" And if I hear another complaint about how it's underdeveloped or unfinished I'm going for the throat.

Favorite NPC: REALLY hard to pick - I like a ton of them so much which is part of what I love about the game, but I'll go for Aylin and Isobel who I've drawn the most of the NPCs thus far, so that probably says something.

Favorite Villain: Ketheric Thorm - I like depressed generals, what can I say? I also think he has the best development of the Dead Three's avatars (Orin to me is the most evil and the most pitiable, and least 'redeemable' making her compelling. Gortash is interesting because he's the same as any dime a dozen politician garbage bag of a person). I do like the Emperor as a villain as well, and I REALLY enjoy punching its face in after all the lies, deceit, and manipulation.

Favorite Romance: Karlach - it's Karlach no secrets there. Something something finding self-acceptance through recognition of the other in fiction...

Favorite Animal: Impossible pick - I just went with Tara because I think the concept of tressym is delightful. Can you imagine the problems cat would cause if they could fly and wield magic???

I am so sleeeepy. I feel mentally and physically very exhausted even though yesterday was rest day and I didn't go to the gym. I woke up like 3 hours ago, made and packed lunch, got dressed, and got to the library

I have a colloquia on Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of EM2 on Tuesday, so that's one of my main priorities right now. The second main priority is IDS since the test is on the 27th of June.

For the colloquia, the plan is to do 15 pages of EM 2 today (+2 pages carryover from yesterday) and tomorrow. That way, I will have a base idea and familiarity with the concepts. On Saturday, I plan to go through my tutor's notes and solve the tutorial questions from Chapter 2. Repeat on Sunday with Chapter 3 questions. Monday, I'd like to have some time to just relax and be calm. I may revisit chapter 1 a bit and go through whatever I do not manage to cover on time.

For IDS, I plan to go thru one lecture every day. So I should be covered on the material by Sunday. Monday-Tuesday, I'll rest a bit, go through Advanced Math 2 lectures, and do EM2 mainly + practice German. On Wednesday and Thursday, I will do the practice exercises available for IDS + AM 2 lectures and AM2 homework for Friday.

I hope it works out, even if the plan is a bit jampacked because I am very behind, so there is a lot of material to cover. For now, I will just keep trying my best.

TIME - ELO: my mum's favourite album that i first Properly listened to when i was 13. it's just the best sci-fi concept album ever....i love you jeff!!

13 Tales of Love & Revenge - The Pierces: sexy indie duo, most known for the song Secret, which isn't even in the top 5 of the best songs of the album. a treasure from when i was 11, and just figuring out i like girls.

Greatest Hits - The Eagles: again, my mum's interests becoming my own. it was really hard to pick between this and Long Road Out of Eden, but ultimately the greatest hits r that for a reason.

Laurel Hell - Mitski: my fave mitski album, heat lightning is underappreciated!!! and yeah just. its about solitude. recognition but not in the way you wanted or expected. emotional rollercoaster. im not eloquent enough to describe it and mitski does it better in under 2 minutes anyway.

Strange Trails - Lord Huron: again another hard toss between this and long lost but st wins out purely bc the transitions rule, and meet me in the woods + the yawning grave make me crazyyyy. so happy i got to hear those live in jan. lord huron is like what if a cowboy was also a ghost. thats the only way i can describe it.

Electra Heart - Marina and the Diamonds: i am not immune to music i heard at 12 years old. shame she's never made anything as good as this again.

Are We Having Fun Yet? - Black/Colin Vearncombe: another one of mum's. She found this guy when someone at Sanity was playing the album over the store speakers. loved it ever since, and introduced it to me. wistful ballads, jazzy touches, a little bit sexy.

Coyote Stories - The Crane Wives: this was a 2016-18 discovery maybe? i just know i was in school. im into folk indie i cant help it.

Wasteland, Baby! - Hozier: shout out to afro-elf for posting about movement n the whole ep, which is what spurred me to actually try this dude's music. and now i love him. but wasteland baby is immaculate: no skips, he roars in some songs and is as gentle as drizzle in others.

If you could, would you go back to school?

I'm very fond of my high school memories but I wouldn't go back to waking up at 6:30 am every day. Hell world.

Can you parallel park?

Nope 🙈 I have a driver's license but I haven't driven since 2019.

A job you had that would surprise people?

I did one year of civil service to help the local associations of ex-partisans and ex-deportees digitalise their archives. I had the opportunity to interview a survivor of Auschwitz, and an old partisan who fought in the Italian Resistance during ww2.

Do you think aliens are real?

I think there's a good probability that we're not alone in an infinite universe.

Can you drive a manual car?

Theoretically? My driver's license says I can. In practice? Not driving for 5 years will make you forget everything.

What is your guilty pleasure?

You can do whatever you want forever and there's no guilty pleasures.

Tattoos?

I have a tiny treble clef tattoo on my wrist, I made it with some ink and a needle when I was 14 to match with some friends lol

I'd love to have more tattoos, but I'm always saving money for concert tickets.

Do you like puzzles?

I get easily bored with puzzles and board games, and my competitivity is almost nonexistent, so they're not all that fun to me. I enjoy them just if the shapes/colours feel interesting.

Any phobias?

I have arachnophobia but the problem isn't the spider, it's the web. With spiders in general my fight response kicks in and I usually get rid of them, but if I see a spiderweb (or something similar like processionary caterpillars) my flight response skyrockets off the charts.

Sometimes I also get anxious if I have a lot of physical mass over my head, like in caves or at the ground floor of a very tall building. It's not claustrophobia or speluncaphobia because I'm completely fine with tight or dark places, it's more similar to thalassophobia (which also gets to me sometimes).

Favorite childhood sport?

Fencing! I took a junior fencing class for 2 years when I was in middle school and it was super fun! I would've loved to keep attending but it was too expensive and the instructor was the most annoying person I've ever met.

First thing you wanted to be growing up?

A witch. I was convinced it was a legit career path, and tbh maybe I was right.

Do you talk to yourself?

Sometimes I do, but I usually prefer to sing or talk to my plants.

What movies do you adore?
