THIS MORNING: one of our comrades from emory university that was arrested shared her experience, and what she saw her 22 other comrades experience, while in dekalb county jail. our comrades were subjected to racism, not given water for 12 hours despite vocalizing the water fountain didn't work, and silenced during court appearances.
Interesting that a lawyer for Cop City said in court that the project was being held together with "chewing gum and paperclips"-and that ONE day's court ordered stop work could now finish off the whole project.
We are witnessing a state-created moral panic backlash against calls to defund the police that rivals anything we talk about in similar terms and will have similarly dire consequences for the population. https://www.curbed.com/2023/06/atlanta-cop-city-design-architecture-tactical-village.html

This photo was found in the wallet of an unidentified man. The man was found dead in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 19, 1980. It's estimated the girl would have been about 4 at the time of the photo.
Not much is known about the man. He:
May have been from Panama City, Florida, or have visited
Was white
Was about 50 to 70 years old at the time of his death
Was about 6 feet tall and about 175 pounds
Would have died anywhere from 1978 to 1980
Had blonde/gray hair
Was dressed in a blue shirt and blue work pants. Shirt size is 16.5 x 34. Had a brown belt.
Along with the photo, he had an item on him that said "HR Bow dyeing and finishing, 278-3448," and parts of a handwritten letter that said, "Dear Dad" and was signed with love form "Pam T Dwight" or "Pam + Dwight."
Identifying the girl in the photo is likely key to identifying the man.
If you think you recognize the girl, if the description sounds familiar, or if you think you know who Pam and Dwight or Pam T. Dwight might be, please contact the Atlanta Police Department at (404) 546-4235.

...and Katie laughs in the porcelain tub, drops her head under bathwater and baptizes herself. Says: "Salvation is easy. You just have to die a little." Same with love, mon amour. Same with anything dazzling and useless. The blackness beyond the reach of the lightbulb. The yellow patterned sheets. Our stunned faces, pale with strange relief when we witnessed the unraveling of all things beautifully brief: a love that slow dances. Holds hands when it crosses the street. Remembers to call home.
A love killed every night.
Resurrected every morning.
