I wanted to start this blog so I could track my progress of the materials I learn as well as to motivate me to really get into coding. I’m so focused on coding for college that i’ve never taken the time to explore programming on my own. So the purpose of this blog is to help me explore that by sharing my experiences.

Hello! I'm Europa, and welcome to my blog (playfully named as such as a reference to my personal website)

I'm a 21 year old trans girl from the heart of the midwest who loves retro tech, photography, music production, writing, mapping/cartography.

As for content creation endeavors, I'm a (very scuffed) vtuber who can't quite get her shit together when it comes to streaming, and I also release music and make videos on old tech I like. I'm also working on a novel and hope to publish it.

here are the SSTV images that give you the hints for the secret ending, recorded on my second playthrough. additionally there are some static/noise captured on the Penrose and i think Rotfront (forgot where exactly).

i have no idea why the image for the bookstore is distorted like that but i assume someone was able to get a clear image of it. maybe it has to be on a different playthrough? if you're interested in recording your own SSTV images then read on for instructions (it's actually very simple).

you will need a program that can decode SSTV signals. the one i used is RX-SSTV, but there's also MMSSTV - both are freeware, and there probably others. your computer may need to have a microphone possibly? i don't have a special setup and i am not an expert on radios or SSTV, i just googled this lol. RX-SSTV worked right out of the box after installing it, i didn't change any settings. there may be phone apps too (i haven't looked), just search for "SSTV decoder" or something similar.

so all you need to do to get the images is play the audio signal that has an SSTV image encoded in them. I just had the program open in the background while i was playing the game and when it picked up an SSTV signal it automatically converted it into an image.

you can also use this audio to test and see if your decoding program works.

also i spent a long time just listening to the radio on my second playthrough so here are some observations:

generally each larger area (hospital, nowhere, rotfront etc) has its own set of radio frequencies that broadcast different things but they don't change until you move to a new area. so i think individual rooms in an area don't have anything additional hidden BUT i also haven't tested each individual room so maybe there is more stuff hidden, who knows, might be worth looking.

there are lots of frequencies that are numbers station, sometimes there's music, also weird and cool stuff too like audio messages that are playing backwards, morse codes, radio jammer signals etc. as with everything else in this game a lot of thought seems to have gone into the radio and what it broadcasts, so this was super fun to discover and it's one of my favorite features in this game.
