now that I know I'm audhd I'm pretty gentle with myself, like I can just go meh whatever and shrug off most of the weird shit I do, but one thing that still makes me want to sink into the floor every time is when I get so excited to see a visibly queer person in a mundane environment that I forget you're not supposed to stare and bc I'm not super expressive by the time I snap back to reality this poor person has been stonefaced stared down by a random schlub (me) for long enough that they're now worried about getting hatecrimed in the Lowes parking lot. I drew a great couch out of its place near the corner, so that as I lay, I could look at the lovely view to east and south, and unthinking of and uncaring for the dust, composed myself for sleep. I suppose I must have fallen asleep; I hope so, but I fear, for all that followed was startlingly real—so real that now sitting here in the broad, full sunlight of the morning, I cannot in the least believe that it was all sleep. I was not alone.

I came back to the library, and read there till I fell asleep. I was awakened by the Count, who looked at me as grimly as a man can look as he said:—

I just noticed this little detail today. Every time Jonathan falls asleep somewhere in the castle other than his room, he's awakened by vampires. He never wakes naturally, every time it's at the approach of a predator. And while Dracula at least certainly doesn't stay out of his bedroom, as far as I remember Jonathan never is woken by him there. Every time he mentions waking in his room it's a natural awakening.

Furthermore, these three events get closer. The first time, the three ladies are across the room from Jonathan and approach from there. The second time Jonathan wakes as Dracula is entering the room. This time, it sounds like he comes over and wakes Jonathan up himself, probably touching him or at least getting close and speaking to him.

It's a neat detail.

i need the AC to be on when it's hot so i don't melt into a little puddle. but then the AC gets to be too cold so i turn it off and then it gets hot and i am melting. then i turn the AC back on and that's nice but now it's cold
