ok I’m really curious and not sure if you’ve posted it before; can we get a Siri Vinteri timeline? Where she came from -> where she ends up? the people (I) need to know!!

OKAY OKAY SO i think I have probably posted it once before but yknow,,, I couldn't be bothered to look it up on my tumblr bc it's just,,, way too much work HAHA so!!! Lore dump time on our baby girl Siri >:)

So to start, let's put down some dates; for easy remembering, Hiccup and the gang are born between 995 and 996. This makes HTTYD1 take place around early 1010, making the gang 14/15 years old (I personally like to think Hiccup turned 15 during HTTYD1, just a silly lil headcanon).

Siri was born on (let's name the exact date we'd hold up for funsies) May 28th, the year 1000, to parents Elisabeth and Felix Vínteri. Elisabeth is the older sister to Astrid's father and Fearless Finn, making Siri Astrid's younger cousin. Felix is a baker (and is dreaming of a rags to riches life).

In this same year, Snotlout's little sister, Adelaide, is born, and she and Siri become fast friends through their childhood.

Somewhere in 1001, the Flightmare returns and Finn doesn't survive the attack, being branded as a coward as he froze in sight of the Flightmare. Seeing as Siri was still really, really young when this happened, she wasn't really aware of what had happened or what the repercussions were for the Hoffersons.

Siri went through childhood in the midst of the Dragon War, causing her to develop a bit of a fear for the beasts. As such, her father always kept her and some of the other village children safe and tucked away as their parents fought. Elisabeth was one of those fighting parents, more so keeping herself busy with protecting her family and surviving. As a Hofferson, this was only natural to her, and as others from their family, she was also a bit fueled by the comments made about Finn.

In 1006, Lilja, Siri's little sister, was born. Siri herself developed an interest in flowers and plants around this time and was known to toddle after Astrid. She wasn't much of a talker, more so nodding her head whenever her older cousin would say something she'd agree with. Felix and Elisabeth also taught their girl (and Adelaide, whenever she hung out with Siri, which was, like, always) several classic Viking games, such as maces and talons.

Siri's childhood went on in a mix of Dragon-fueled fear, unknown Hofferson standards and fun with friends and flowers. She wasn't someone who'd one day become a warrior, like her mother or cousin, that was pretty clear to everyone around her.

In 1010 the Dragon War ended and the village had to shift from fighting dragons, to living amongst them. Siri, just ten years old and still quite afraid of the beasts, would often hide herself behind her father to not be confronted with them. She only got over that fear when Astrid forced her to meet Stormfly, and after that, the girl loosened up a little.

Between 1010 and 1011, Siri basically just follows along with the Hofferson plotline, just going about life and growing up the rest of the time. She and Astrid have a bit of tension during the return of the Flightmare, as they experienced Finn's demise so differently and also experienced the fallout so differently. This was eventually resolved, but it did throw Astrid off the pedestal Siri had put her on a little bit, making her see Astrid as more of herself than the warrior icon she had previously thought her to be.

In early 1015, Siri came across a wounded Deadly Nadder and her little hatchling when playing hide and seek with her sister. With some help from adults, the two dragons got to safety, and Siri helped with nursing them back to health. After this, the Deadly Nadder trusted Siri enough to let them become friends, and Siri named her Lavender. Lavender's hatchling was named Bluebell!

In 1016, the war with Drago Bludvist happened, and as a direct result, the earlier formed A-Team fell apart. The older members decided to leave to be able to assist Hiccup further in his ascendance to chiefdom, leaving a few open spots in the defense team. Astrid kinda pushed Siri to it, thinking it would be good for the girl to get in some training and for her to build some resilience. Of course, Adelaide wanted to join too, and the two went to tackle a very pouty and upset-about-his-teammates-leaving Gustav Larson to tell him Astrid told them they could join.

Of course, this wasn't the first time Siri met Gustav. They were born not even two years apart (Gustav was born in late 998) and everyone knows everyone on Berk. That whole generation grew up together, but they weren't exactly friends. However, at that time, Siri could recall the boy's teasing and boasting and how he ran after Snotlout, the same as she did with Astrid. She could also vaguely remember short talks in the Great Hall when they would happen to bump into each other.

And so, a new A-Team was formed, even tho for others it more so felt like a club for teens lmao. Shortly after, a shipwrecked boy named Ludvig, who was around their age, joined as well to help him integrate into Berkian society. Siri even got a crush on him, as he was such a charming guy (and let's be honest, in her generation, what other option does she have lmao).

However, that went very bad very quickly. Ludvig turned out to be an assassin send to undo the world of Hiccup, as him being chief now made him a bit of a target. Siri, who had noticed Ludvig sneaking through the village from her window in the middle of the night, followed him (bc she wanted to say hi or smt), and once she realised what was going on, tried to hold him off and stall him, which resulted in a hand to hand struggle and Siri gaining a nasty scar on her back from being slammed against the stone wall of the Great Hall. Luckily for her and Hiccup, the commotion woke others and Ludvig was imprisoned. However, as they tried to figure out what to do with him, the boy escaped, and no-one could find him.

Siri felt like an idiot afterwards; Gustav and Adelaide had already had their doubts about Ludvig, but somehow, she hadn't, and it made her a bit self conscious going on. She all but in name left the A-Team (said it was to pursue an apprenticeship at the healers' hut), and life went on.

Soon after, Grimmel's attack happened, and Berk moved to New Berk. In this au, the dragons actually stay (cuz im weak). By this time, Siri was about 17 years old and fully locked in on her apprenticeship. She truly blossomed in that; her love for plants and flowers became a useful tool in creating medicines and her positive attitude and kindness made her an easy choice to request for aid. She took it quite seriously and spend most of her time there (sometimes Addie had to drag her away to go have fun).

There was someone who was a bit upset about it, though. Gustav had grown quite attached to his teammate (during their time in the a-team, they had shared quite a lot of struggles of expectations that they had on their shoulders and spoke about how other people views of them were different than what they actually were) and he was pretty sure she had grown attached to him. So he kept dropping by at the healers' with bruises and fake pains to get her attention.

So, in early 1018, Siri and Gustav start dating, but they're keeping it quiet (even though everyone knows). Adelaide is the first to find out. Siri's parents are like "... baby girl why" bc they think she can do better (even tho they deep inside know the two match each other's freak or smt lmao)

In the four years following, their dating grows out to become a full fledged relationship and Siri's becomes a midwife, while Gustav gets a blacksmith apprenticeship and starts helping out at the Academy. Adelaide started going out on solo adventures and has been having a blast.

When Siri's 22, so in 1022, she and Gustav have a quick and easy wedding. They were probably fueled by seeing others in their generation tie the knot and decided they should too and afterwards, they go on a Berserker Honeymoon (basically, a chaotic vacay on Berserker Island lmao).

About 3 months into their marriage, Siri realises she's pregnant. Gustav isn't too into it and freaks out, causing a bit of a rift in their relationship for a good month as they both come to terms with this sudden development in their lives.

In april 1023, they join a few merchants on a little boat trip to Berserker Island for a small festival. Siri didn't want to go on Dragon back due to her pregnancy, and expected they should return home before the baby's birth.

However, on that boat trip, her son, little Niv Fanghook Larson, is born, her pride and joy, her pumpkin baby. She gifted him a little bracelet with his name on it, adoring her little boy with all her heart. He couldn't be hers for long, tho. In the first night after he was born, the boat caught fire after a terrible terror sneezed and while Fanghook, who had been travelling with them through air, could save his best friend and his best friend's wife, they couldn't save their newborn baby. Niv got caught in the flames and seemingly drowned.

Siri never believed he drowned.

Afterwards, she wasn't the same. Erratic, panicked, quiet and chaotic, the young woman became a shell of her former self. She and Gustav stayed on Berserker Island for two weeks, as it was closest to the shipwreck, and in that time, Siri became unpredictable in her actions, even going as far as trying to steal Fanghook to try and find her baby.

Once back home, things didn't improve. In early 1024, her second son, Konrad, was born a stillborn, caused by stress after Gustav and Felix had gotten caught in a house fire and barely escaped with their lives. Gustav suffered the worst of it, even losing his left arm, and Siri had to nurse him back to health afterwards.

Still, life went on. Siri sometimes babysat Zephyr and Nuffink for Astrid and Hiccup, and it became one of her favourite things to do. She tried her best to get back into society and get back to herself, but there truly was something about herself she lost when she lost sight of Niv.

In 1026, she suffered two miscarriages and decided she was done. She might've wanted to be a mother, but she wanted to have peace of mind too. Siri and Gustav decided to stop trying so hard to have a child and tried to find more happiness in life around them.

That life kicked in and things started to look up again. Somehow, their daughter, Sunniva, was born healthy and screaming in mid 1027. The little girl quickly became Siri's entire world, and she took her everywhere, certain everyone around her would be enamored by her precious sweetheart.

As Sunniva grew up, it became pretty clear she was a bit different than the other kids around her, but Siri and Gustav managed. Today Sunni would be diagnosed as autistic!!

Life developed as it should’ve always for the little family, and in the following three years Siri became respected as a healer, even if she couldn't quite believe that herself, even being asked for advice during council meetings from time to time, while Gustav began to take the forge more seriously and helped the younger generation in dragon training.

In late 1030, however, after a surprise pregnancy that had a really rough edge to it, Siri almost lost her life giving birth to a stillborn daughter, and lost her ability to carry another pregnancy, just like, as she learned later on, her mother years ago. Elisabeth had gone through the same after having Lilja, and somehow this seemed to run in their family.

However, Siri couldn't let this break her, not again, not now that she had Sunniva to look after. And thus, life went on again, and Sunni grew up loved and supported by her mom and dad.

Then, in 1037, something quite impossible happened. During an assassination attempt on Berserker Island by an unknown group, one of the younger assassins had lost a bracelet, one with a nearly faded name on it, and Dagur found it, getting it to New Berk as soon as possible.

When Siri got her hand on the bracelet, all her hopes from the last fourteen years came bubbling back up. The bracelet read, "Niv", and beads had been added to it to support a growing person. Dagur had also gotten a good look at the young assassin, and with how much the kid resembled Gustav, things seemed pretty clear in Siri's mind.

In secret (bc the council was against it), Astrid and Gustav set out to find Niv, and somehow, they did, at the Bog Burglar tribe. And thus, Niv, little Niv, Siri's little baby pumpkin, was returned to her.

He explained how he had been found in a shipwreck by a man named Bendik and had been raised in a tribe of assassins by Bendik and Bendik's brother, how he had escaped after several cruel events.

In the year following, Siri bonded with her son and helped him settle into Berkian life. Nivvie became close with his little sister, and things were good, great, even.

In 1038, Bendik figured out where Niv was and he, his brother, and a few other assassins went out to get the boy out of the way. In a clash, Siri, high on adrenaline, killed Bendik to save her son, and was recognised by the man's brother.

Somehow, in a sick twist of fate, Ludvig had returned to haunt her, after all that went down, after being cruel to her son during his childhood. Ludvig, who had given her all new kinds of insecurities about herself, and who had given her son insecurities, and when she finally stood up to him, I think she became the strongest version of herself.

This time, Ludvig didn't escape, and was send to prison on Outcast Island. Siri and her family could finally live out their lives together <333

So that's the basics of it!! Siri's story overal is a lot about overcoming insecurities and about finding light throughout hard times. She's got themes of perseverance, of motherhood, of becoming yourself, and I think those are some really good themes to tie in with a softer, inwardly strong character like Siri. Throughout her life, she truly becomes more and more herself as she learns more about the world around her, about her loved ones, and about how her loving upbringing shaped her as a person and which aspects of that she wants to give to her own kids.

A lot of it is tied to insecurity and feeling undervalued, too, which makes her a nice tie in with Gustav. He's seen as a nuisance and she's seen as a bit of a coward, so they would get each other on those fronts. Theyve got some nice themes about lying and honesty in there too and how it affects and defines their relationship.

ANYWAY, this is getting way too long haha. Siri to me is such a special character, and im so glad she's of interest to you <333 ty so much for asking!!!! It was sm fun to talk abt all of this, and ofc i had to leave a lot of little details out and wasn't able to really lay down the groundwork of Siri’s development, but this is at least something that’ll help you understand how she ended up becoming who she became YIPPEEE
