So…..that was incredible.

Sorry I didn’t recording the beginning, I was screaming like crazy and forgot lol. But I got most of it.

This was such a surreal experience and it was so surreal seeing the ENTIRE original Hamilton Cast again on Stage at the Tony’s nonetheless.

Yes Anthony was there, Lin said on insta that they snuck him in in the morning rehearsal, but he doesn’t really have screen time so you have to kinda pause at the end to see him. But fuck him anyway.

Anyway, I loved it and I’ll be watching Hamilton today because this triggered my obsession with it.

It's an unexpected visit, but not an unwelcomed one.

Jonathan isn't particularly fond of anyone showing up while he is entrenched in his work - Edward is one of few exceptions. Typically, they can both ramble to one another about their current work, and they're both intelligent enough to follow one another. It's friendly. Jonathan doesn't feel so... Tense around Edward. It's a rarity that he isn't ruled by his anxiety (his fear!). Where most people would get a blank expression, curt replies, Edward gets someone who smirks, who replies with a playfulness that Jonathan would otherwise only show if he wore the mask of the Scarecrow.

Except, this time is different. No smile. No flat affect, either - he can't manage it. His face is contorted in a grimace, his eyes wide. Ted Bones, Edward had said.

"What?"

He doesn't realize it, but he has dropped his pen. His hands are shaking. How could Edward possibly know that name? How could he be asking about that deplorable fucking monster? "Excuse me?" he asks, incredulous. "What did you say?"

“You ready honey?” Jonathan called out to you.

He sat on your bed waiting patiently for you to try on the surprise he had bought you.

You stepped through the door of your shared bedroom, your face glowing with excitement. The sundress he had bought was in your favorite color and you twirled around in it to make the skirt flounce around you. “And look,” you said excitedly. “It has pockets!” You demonstrated by shoving your hands into them.

“You look beautiful,” he responded softly. He held his hand out to you, which you took, and pulled you closer to him so you were standing between his legs. “Try the pockets again. I think there’s something in there for you.”

You looked at him curiously and reached your hand back in. When you felt it your eyes widened for a moment before pulling it out.

In your hand laid a ring.

Your eyes darted to his and you could see the fear in them.

He swallowed thickly before whispering, “Do you like it?”

Instead of responded with words you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and kissed him, pushing him back onto the bed as tears welled in your eyes.

“Is that a yes?” He mumbled against your lips.

“Yes, I love it,” You laughed as you pulled away.

“No I mean—“

“I know what you mean. But you haven’t asked it yet.”

Gently, he wiped away the tears that had fallen from your face and cupped your face in his hands. “Will you marry me?”

“Yes you idiot. Of course I’ll marry you.”

He took the ring from your hand and slipped it onto your finger.

“Now get me out of this dress Byers!”

Speedwagon was excited, to say the least. He was going on his first date with his two lovers, who just so happened to be Jonathan Joestar and Erina Pendleton.

He was nervous, as someone would be on their first date, but that was overshadowed by his excitement. They had decided on a picnic, something nice and peaceful.

Speedwagon, not having many fancy clothes, was grateful it wasn't somewhere he wouldn't have to wear something grand. He went for something simple; a white dress-shirt and a light brown sweater-vest over top, along with some darker brown pants and his boots. They were the only pair of shoes he owned.

He took a good few minutes to arrive at the spot at which they had agreed for their picnic to be, and visibly lit up when he saw Jonathan and Erina already sitting on the picnic blanket.

"Jojo! Erina!" He called out with a bright smile, jogging on over. "Am I late? Sorry if I kept you waiting."

Jonathan smiled at this, while Erina giggled.

"You're not late, we've only been here for about five minutes or so," Erina, patting the spot next to her.

Speedwagon smiled and sat down, as Jonathan took an apple out of the basket of fruits that Erina had brought for them to eat.

"You look nice, Robert," Jonathan commented, taking a bite out of his apple.

Speedwagon blushed a bit, as he was still getting used to being called his first name by Jonathan and Erina, instead of simply Speedwagon.

"T-thank you, Jojo! You and Erina are dressed very nicely, too!" He said in response, albeit a little quickly.

"What have you two been up to today?" Erina asked, taking some grapes out of the basket, whilst Speedwagon took a pear.

"You know, just some reading," Jonathan chuckled. "Nothing too much."

"I spent most of the day getting ready," Speedwagon said with a smile. "I wanted to make sure I don't look messy. How about you?"

Erina giggled, popping a grape into her mouth. "Oh, nothing really. I'm just glad that I get to be here with you two."

Both Speedwagon and Jonathan blushed at this, and they both made similar comments afterwards.

The trio ended up staying there until around sunset, as both Speedwagon and Erina leaned on Jonathan as they watched the sun set.

"I love you two," Speedwagon sighed, lifting his head off of his boyfriends arm and looking at his lovers with a dreamy smile.

Erina reciprocated the smile. "I love you too, Speedwagon."

"As do I," Jonathan looked over at him and kissed his forehead in agreement, which caused Speedwagon to turn a bright red.

"Hey, where's my kiss?" Erina asked teasingly, to which Jonathan giggled and kissed her forehead too, which satisfied her.

The Locked Tomb trilogy (aka "TLT" aka Gideon the Ninth, Harrow the Ninth, Nona the Ninth) by Tamsyn Muir. the "lesbian necromancers in space" books. these are very difficult reads but very rewarding. if you've seen fanart around of women with swords and skull make up, it's probably for this series. current #1 fav of anything. extremely waiting for the last book, Alecto the Ninth

Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, cyberpunky sci fi. my favorite book until I read TLT trilogy. the more time passes since the publishing of this book, the more Aged and Out of Date it reads, but I absolutely love the abstract language and the use of present tense.

Emily Wilde series by Heather Fawcett. fantasy with romance (I wouldn't call it romantasy). extremely relatable main character for me, lol, a woman in science who just wants to do her work, is very smart, and very not good at Social Things. (she has way more luck in the love dpt than me, tho!) very nicely written and will make you feel good and happy when you finish the books

Hyperion by Dan Simmons, sci fi. definitely written by a man, but imho worth reading. I've heard it characterized as "Canterbury Tales in Space." you follow a group of characters and their interwoven stories as they journey to a hostile planet. some very cool ideas and very visceral and/or stunning visuals

Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. this is an extremely well known and well loved - and very long! - set of books that all take place on the same planet. the books can be read out of order and enjoyed, but there is something of an order to them. because it's a planet, there are several major locations where the same characters do stuff over a few books. my favorite in the series are the books about the main city, Ankh-Morpork. here's the wiki article, I def recommend reading them in the order you see listed there. other Discworld books I like include: Carpe Jugulum, Going Postal, Making Money

Earthseed by Octavia E Butler. it's been a long time since I've read it, I really need to reread it! the main character has hyperempathy and lives in a dystopian/falling-apart US. she journeys to make/found a better home, and starts her own religion on the way. I remember the tone being very desperate but very hopeful, and a lyrical quality to the writing

Vita Nostra by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko. very very weird and mindfucky, not for everyone. a reader left a comment on TEG saying that the "meaning of Soundwave" thing reminded them of their favorite book, Vita Nostra. having read it, I'm very flattered! I left it with mixed feelings, but I do think it's worth reading

for a couple of old sci fi books about disease/bio terrorism/research, check out The Hot Zone by Richard Preston and The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. it's been a long time since I read either of those (and I suspect Andromeda Strain, in particular, may not have aged well), but they are interesting. I brought The Hot Zone to school to read at lunch when I was 13 and it made me feel so ill I had to go to the nurse, haha

for some favorite YA or even a bit younger books:

Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. magical alternate England with demons and magic. the titular demon is HILARIOUS. there are footnotes. I recall the first one being amazing, the second one being kinda boring, and the third one not being memorable until the very end, when it WENT SO HARD. STROUD WAS NOT AFRAID. def check it out :D

Lockwood & Co, also by Jonathan Stroud. I listened to these on audio at work. really cool ghost/horror stories, surrounding 3 kids in particular who hunt ghosts (not the best way to describe it, but the least spoilery way)

Alien Secrets by Annette Curtis Klause. one of my VERY FAVORITEST books when I was young. girl gets kicked out of school and hitches a ride on a space ship to go to the planet where her parents are. she befriends an alien who loses something very important to him. definitely for like... idk, 11 year olds? but I loved it so much

a lot of these books are on the older side, but hey, if you have them at work and the back of the book appeals, give it a try. I can always rec more in the future if you like =)
