The Cat King's appeal isn't that appealing to me and I don't understand it unless the appeal is Edwin giving into his desire or people just liking a pathetic wet cat of a godman. However, I don't think he was intended to be an abuse allegory even if I understand where those readings are coming from. Overall the framing of him is fairly comedic and sympathetic.
I do have one major beef though and that's with Netflix choosing him and Edwin as their header. It inaccurately reflects the story and Edwin's relationships and effectively pushes out 3/4 of the main cast— all of which represent characters of colour. It should be Edwin, Charles, and Crystal.
