Saw you reblog your ROTM/Mr Grizz post and yea- I think the main issue with Splatoon lore is just how hard it is to access if you aren't in Japan. Nintendo of America does a REALLY bad job of making things obvious, and so much worldbuilding is either mistranslated or just never makes it over here. I don't want Splatoon to become super lore-heavy and ignore the fun parts it currently has, but I do want Nintendo to make things more explicit so we avoid things like the Octoling mind control or all mammals being extinct.

yeah it really sucks that its how it is. i remember in 2018, when i started getting more deeply interested in understanding splatoon's canon, i would see people making up everything about salmonid culture, or making mammal characters for their splatoon oc worldbuilding, and id say to myself "am i the only one who has tried going through these developer interviews with google translate to get info???" and it turned out the answer was. yes sometimes i hate to say it but. facts. ever since i started making videos consequently getting more people curious about splatoon's lore, ive noticed a huge improvement in the splatoon community's overall understanding of the lore and worldbuilding. we cant change how NOA handles splatoon, but i do what i do to try and get people to understand my favorite game series better and i think its paid off

If you really love a character and if they are really important to you, but you feel like a large majority of fans treat them poorly and they mischaracterise them. Don't be scared to talk about it.

PLEASE!

This is not even focused on Splatoon, no, this is just in general. If you genuinely love a character so much and they are treated in a way where you feel like it doesn't represent the character's true personality, events, arcs, etc, then speak up about it. Make a post on any social media platform or forum. Speak your peace, share your evidence, do what you can to say "hey guys. I think you should all take a second look at this character i really like! They have some cool stuff about them that not a lot of people talk about!"

I think a really great example of a character who's been really mischaracterised is Deadpool. In the comics he's a sad clown sort of guy where he hides his pain, suicidality and depression behind jokes and 4th wall breaks. He's a bad dude who tries his hardest to be a good person, but he fails over and over again and he doesn't believe he can ever be loved or respected. He's funny but he also has depth and layers which is so important to create an everlasting character. Or at least that's what I've heard he's like from comic fans. I haven't read the comics but i plan on to some day because I'm fascinated by his depth and i wanna experience that.

However in his first major solo appearance, which was the game, he was treated as only a loud mouth jokester who sees every woman he comes across as "awooga! boobies and ass!!!!" and all the depth and nuance is gone. Even though they had a comic writer who worked on Deadpool comics for years, he didn't fucking ATTEMPT to give the character any form of intrigue. Just... nothing. Only memes and pop culture references that'll become dated in 5 years.

And a lot of people think that's just who Deadpool is... That's how so many people got introduced to this character which caused misinformation to spread about him for so long... And that fucking sucks dude.

Thankfully the movies have some form of an emotional center with Wade and Vanessa's relationship and they give the character... SOMETHING!!!!! At least the comic fans seem to be pretty okay with movie Deadpool from my knowledge, which is good.

ANYWAYS! BACK TO SPLATOON!

Do you guys remember when Pearl and Marina used to be treated like this? Pearl as some big forehead joke of a character, while Marina was some bimbo with huge honkers and a giant waist.

Oh yeah, this was how they were treated for years. I remember it man, i fucking remember it all. I was there. Sorry to tell the new fans who joined from Splatoon 3. Even after Octo Expansion gave them detailed backstories and further explored their personalities, they were still mischaracterised as flanderised jokes and nothing more in the community.

But after people took the time to get to know these two, after people spent 7 years with them and discussed the interesting things about them online, they are now portrayed significantly better than how they used to be treated in the community and are celebrated as some of the best characters in the franchise. As they fucking deserve to be treated. Fans don't treat them as jokes anymore, casuals don't make tired old jokes anymore. Everyone loves these two now and for the right reasons.

And all it took was a small section of people to praise their best attributes and eventually overshadow the misinformation about them. Pearl is celebrated because she is genuinely a great character with a heart of gold and a want to care for the people around her. To make every day chaotic and to have fun with her CANONICAL GIRLFRIEND!

Marina is celebrated as a character who autistic people can look up to and find comfort in. AND THAT IS FUCKING AWESOME!!! AND IT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENED! If no one bothered to look deeper at her character then maybe many peoples lives could have never been changed for the better... Isn't that crazy to think about?

If you can change one person's perspective on a character you love, and they feel that energy and they wanna help you share that energy with more people, then i think you've done something truly amazing. Eventually that shit is gonna spread further and further AND FURTHER!!!!!!

Remember when Shiver and Frye were treated as jokes similar to Pearl and Marina at the start of Splatoon 3? Frye with her big forehead jokes and people calling her ugly due to... well... i'm gonna make some wild accusations here but... there might be an undertone of racism when people call Frye ugly... like... i'm just saying... I'm scared of what these people think about Indian women in the real world... What views they share about them... Frye is inspired by Indian culture and by proxy, Indian women. I'm just saying...

And, of course, fans gooning over Shiver because god forbid a woman exposes her midriff and has curvy hips... ugh...

BUT THANKFULLY IT'S CHANGED NOW! Lots of people see Shiver as a silly yet fun character who has the potential for depth down the line, which people are excited to see. People adore Frye and love her personality and her family.

There are people out there who say that Frye is actually cute and beautiful, AND YOU KNOW WHAT!?? I FUCKING AGREE! If people didn't share their love and takes on Frye then maybe she wouldn't become my favourite Deep Cut member.

Now... To tie it all back to me, I'm seeing this change in perspective for a character.... with Callie Cuttlefish.

During the years 2017 to 2022, Callie was always mischaracterised as some airheaded idiot who ended up getting herself "kidnapped" and "brainwashed" and had to be saved as she was some stupid helpless victim. This was seen in official material and fan comics too. I remember it man, i really do. Hell it STILL happens till this day. That fucking summer 2024 Nintendo magazine? Jesus christ dude...

But now? That perspective is changing... Sure not everyone is gonna fully agree and there probably isn't gonna be massive change in official media, social media such as YouTube and twitter, and of course wikis. Not everyone is gonna know about what Callie is truly like and what she has truly gone through. But....

That's okay.

I really don't wanna come across as some sort of gatekeeping fan, i really hate those kinds of """fans""" so much. I just wanna educate and share my love for a comfort character of mine. Eventually the perspective shared by me and others will be spread to other social media platforms and many more people. Because that's how the internet works baby!!!!

The perspective that Callie was just a girl suffering from fame and loneliness, a girl who wanted an escape from it all, a girl who went under hypnosis to numb her pain and stay in the corruptive darkness she built up for so long, a girl who wanted to help her enemies rather than stay in her current life with a cousin who isn't there for her anymore... A girl who didn't need to be saved, but a girl who needed to be reminded of the good memories she had with her cousin, to remember what she truly stood for and the love she wants to share with everyone via music... A girl who just needed... a fresh start....

She was never kidnapped despite what official sources say... She was never brainwashed despite what they tell you... Callie had agency... Callie was suffering... Just in a more nuanced and fascinating way.

that perspective... is spreading and... I'm so happy about it...

I know there's not a Void mask in RTDLX but wouldn't it have been sooo cool if there was?

I don't usually draw creepy or eery pieces so this was a lot of fun to try! I wanted to play with the idea of masks and the relationship between Kirby and Void. I think the implication that Kirby is a form from Void (but with Heart or positive energy) is a really interesting concept. It blew my mind when playing Star Allies for the first time! I really want to make more pieces similar to this one because the whole mask and parallel concepts can apply to a lot of characters if that makes any sense.

A lot of aspects of Kirby lore are super confusing to me. So I plan to make a timeline/theory doc for canon and fanon information surrounding the games. I'm debating on whether or not to release it cuz my writing can be very messy. I'll likely post my thoughts and ideas while working on it. I'll be busy with work and opening comms, especially with Splatoon 3 grandfest coming up too. But it's a project that I definitely want to tackle.

I'm interested in hearing theories and headcanons that any of y'all have about the games. Kirby lore is super complicated and incoherent, but it leaves tons of possibilities for interpretation. So I'm intrigued to hear thoughts, ideas, questions, and discussions.

I made these refs back for this year’s Artfight, but never got around to finishing the rest of my characters’. I nickname these three “the main trio” because they’re the three splatoon characters I draw and like the most. All three have a thing in common, albeit for different reasons: they all don’t go by their original names! If you’d like to read character ramblings, look below the cut, if not, you may do what you like.

Things to note: My Splatoon characters are stuck in Splatoon 2 purgatory, so the weapons, ages, and all that are stuck in that time period. (R) and (UR) is short for (restricted) and (unrestricted), which is referring to if the height is measured within a canon limitation, or without canon inkfish heights in mind.

Mochi

Dawn “Mochi” Funboruto

Aged 16

5’ (R) - 5’7” (UR)

Mochi is an interesting inkling, not actually originating in Inkadia at all, instead from a far-off city by the name of Arrecife. She’s childhood friends with Slick, and only moved to Inkopolis because he’d shown it to be a hot spot for things of interest. She’s a Humboldt inkling, but cursed with an unusually small stature compared to her relatives, making her appear as an average inkling. Evidence of her ancestry can still be found in her sucker rings, which, unlike most inklings, are still very-much there. She’s described as sisterly, laid-back, and sarcastic, but can also snap to a very energetic, mischievous, and havoc-causing individual. She never seems to stand still, even while relaxed, quite fidgety by nature. She tries not to overthink, which can lead to poorly thought-out choices that result in unpleasant outcomes. She’s easily persuaded by bribes of food or money, which some of her friends take advantage of for her to do stupid dares, tasks, or for her to not blackmail them. She jokes around and doesn’t usually bring up serious subjects unless she thinks it’s important. She often has to be the straight-man around people like Slick, but also can join in on the mischief. She’s also agent 4, but it doesn’t really become super relavent. She goes by Mochi just because she feels like it, nothing else, really.

Slick

Mason “Slick” Stone

Aged 15

Slick is a goofy character, son of a single mother and always trying to get up to antics. He is from the town of Arrecife, childhood friends with Mochi, and forming a chaotic duo whenever they decide to meet up. He’s quite full of himself, exasperates his accomplishments, and thinks he’s practically irresistible. Despite his arrogance, he possesses a heart of gold, and just wants to befriend anyone he can. He may not be the brightest, but he tries his best, even if it doesn’t work out. He has no concept of boundaries, and has broken into people’s houses to give them gifts. He went out of his way to befriend Hachikō, despite the people around him scoffing at him for it. Despite Hachikō’s not-super-great-but-understandable Inklish at the time, Slick was very accepting and thought it was more funny than anything. As their friendship grew closer, Hachikō moved in with him, and they currently share an apartment. Slick gave himself that name because he wanted to sound cool and dissociate with his father.

Hachikō “Hachi” ??

Hachikō, an amnesiac found in a place he feels lost in. He’s agent 8, and his story of venturing to the surface is one that only some know of. His Inklish is practically perfect in the current day, with only the slight hiccup and forgetting some words. He’s quiet, observant, and tends to appear stiff around unfamiliar people. He doesn’t talk much, instead thinking to himself a lot, sometimes staring off into space and getting lost in thought. He can be quite chatty if asked about anything of interest to him (ink weaponry, birds, etc). He tends to fidget, sometimes needing to occupy his hands by drawing. He takes most things seriously, or as they’re spoken, which has led to him not understanding jokes, and not always pinpointing sarcasm. He’s quite paranoid and constantly worried about being outed as an Octoling, or something going horribly wrong. It’s not uncommon for him to get sick due to being exposed to unfamiliar surface pathogens. Upon reaching the surface, he discovered he had a pollen allergy, which has lead to mockery by his friends for “sneezing like Lil’ Judd”. Slick is who he’s often seen with, eventually even being roommates with, almost always being the nervous straightman to Slick’s antics. Roxanne (agent 3) often babies him and comes to his aid, even when it’s made obvious that he’d rather her not. He appreciates her kindness, but not being infantilized. Hachikō picked his name because he had no memory of his original name, picking one that seemed familiar to him (might’ve heard it in a story once).

MARINA HEAD CANONS FOR OCTO LESBIAN DAY!!! sorry this is coming late its still the 8th in my timezone tho

- She learned to speak inkling in a short period of time while Pearl taught her due to her natural intelligence

She loves LEGO sets, she’s an engineer and I think she’d love the technic sets so much

Very into like electric punk inspired music, lots of octoling musicians have surfaced since off the hook became popular so Marina likes to make playlists with lots of underrated artists, maybe she has a podcast where she recommends and talks about the artists 🥺

Her fingertips (and other bioluminescent parts of her body) glow when she’s embarrassed or flustered, its like a more obvious blush - pearl loves this

Her tentacles also curl idly when she’s happy or excited about something, not much of a noticeable thing unless you were paying attention to them

If she could collab with anyone it would be dedf1sh, whether it be a instrumental track only or a combined effort of their DJing skills and Marina’s vocals, she just would want to make a really cool track with her

As much as she likes to work the odd salmon run shift, she does think the smallfrys are adorable, she would like Neo 3′s little buddy (”pearlie can we please adopt a smallfry too? just look, lil buddy is so cute~”)

She likes theories about video games and movies and other media she’s into, she would watch the splatoon equivalent of matpat’s (matsplat’s?) game theory

Weirdly enough, she likes to read scientific journals, like research papers just for fun. It’s really interesting to her and the knowledge isn’t dry like it is to most people, she grew up with books like that in the military to entertain and educate herself so she still enjoys them now

She wants to launch her own tech brand! headphones, keyboards, speakers, accessories, all stuff she designs and creates related to technology they use. maybe even as far as like sound boards and equipment related to music

Even though they’re personally friends now, she does still view Callie and Marie in a heroic light for performing the calimari inkantation and breaking her out of the control she was under

Yes! I think it is nice to acknowledge that people took the time+effort to leave a comment, and sometimes it can start really fun and interesting conversations. I write niche fics for a small fandom primarily, so I don't get enough comments for it to be overwhelming, and thus every comment feels even more special. Plus I have some really lovely and generous regular commenters!

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh god. This is an impossible question to answer? I write a lot of angst. Maybe sadness hides in your smile, my post B1 AU where Bayonetta never regains any of her memories. Or night, I stand, the pre B1 AU where Cereza dies in the witch hunts and Jeanne goes mad with grief forcing Rosa to put her down like a mad dog. LOL.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

AHHHHHH. I don't know! The two most recent fics that have happy endings are christmas wrapping and my hair no longer bounds to my foot’s glee, nor plant I it from rose or myrtle tree.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nah, not usually. I have gotten a few weird/mean spirited comments in the past, which I respond to and politely tell the person to fuck off and not leave comments like that (lolsies) and then delete. The pro of writing niche fics in a small fandom is I get very little interaction to start, so it is generally positive!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

HA. Yes. I have no idea what "what kind" means though. The sexy kind? Hopefully?

I've never written one, no. I find them hard to pull off and they rarely interest me.

I think if you do not speak that second language then you should consult someone who does, with a few rare exceptions. It often comes off as clunky when you don't, and in some cases can be incredibly demeaning and disrespectful if you lean hard into stereotypes or limited cultural knowledge. I really admire people who can write in multiple languages!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I don't remember. Maybe Bleach? A YoruSoi fic? I was 12 and none of those fics exist anymore. Alas.

IMPOSSIBLE QUESTION! But my favorite in terms of recent fics is easily severed, my Elden Ring Ranni focused fic, set before the events of the game.

OKAY SO NOW I HAVE SOME DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR MY SFMxSPLATOON AU HERE YOU GO and now I’m gonna try to run down what this is all about outside of the braindump post that I kept adding onto.

Splat For Me - A Summary

The basic gist is that Habit owns a flower shop in Inkopolis and Kamal is his partner of both the business and romance types. Habit’s a shark, specifically a porbeagle (I’m gonna refer to him as a “Sharkling” due to working on similar logic to Inklings and Octolings), and Kamal’s an octo. The flower shop would have an in-game function kinda like a combination of the Crust Bucket (in that they have floral accessories that players could add to their hat/clothing for exp boosts, cash boosts, and temporary ability add-ons) and Salmon Run (in that you’d get another play mode where you fight weird enemies, more details below).

Sharkling Habit

I had a hard time makin him not look like Garbage so my efforts should be appreciated at some level. I know the only precedent for sharks in the Splatoon universe is Fuka Bottom of the Bottom Feeders (one of the in-universe music groups that AREN’T Squid Sisters or Off the Hook, look ‘em up), but they’ve got that “I’ve turned this shark vertically and am now looking at their mouth and underbelly” look to ‘em that I most definitely did not want, but I managed to make something more in my vision yaaaaay

Habit managed to get away from his nasty abusive parents before becoming a dentist in this AU (besides, being a dentist isn’t THAT lucrative when the dominant species doesn’t even have bones let alone proper teeth), so he’s not Dr. Habit here, he’s just Boris the flower shark. He’s gotten a lot of attention for his little flower shop, partly because the kids participating in turf war are getting some really good use out of the shop’s floral accessories and partly because they like coming around just to see Habit. S’not every day that you get to hang around vertebrates in this society, and they think his teeth are cool. Yup, that’s why I made him a shark, to make the too-many-teeth face not so unnatural. And being a shark, sometimes those extra teeth push themselves forward and knock out the old ones, which if still in decent condition never go to waste. The really nice-looking ones get turned into authentic shark tooth necklaces (after they’ve gone through a good wash, of course, don’t wanna give the customers his mouth germs), the others that don’t have any significant wear and tear get either ground into bone meal for his flowers or occasionally just shoved whole into the soil, with the erythronium responding to these treatments the best.

While there is some flower growth going on in the shop itself, most of the work there is keeping them healthy for sale and the major growth time for the flowers are off-site in various greenhouses that he refers to as Habitats. (before he had these set up, he was caught several times trying to grow flowers in the Kelp Dome and subsequently removed, took five times for him to realize that maybe he shouldn’t be doing that and also maybe don’t try to swipe a nearly-ripe artichoke on your way out gdi) They’re a bit more than just a normal greenhouse, actually; they’re self-contained areas that seem to be made with materials and techniques that are incredibly similar to Octarian technology. How’d he get ahold of that stuff? No one knows, not even Kamal, and he’s the most likely source of such tech who’d be close to him. One thing that is for certain is that he’s procured something that lets non-inking beings use ink-based weapons, and it’s been incredibly helpful given certain recent developments...

Turns out that his Habitats are starting to come under fire from some very tricky troublemakers. Weird little crafts somehow breaking in from the skies, piloted by...snails? Are they really snails? They certainly don’t look like the Super Sea Snails that everyone’s used to, they look more like the typical image of a UFO piloted by snail-like creatures (snailiens?), but they’re here and they’re hungry and they’ve got a taste for flowers. And Habit’s friggin’ pissed. That’s where the player would come in if this were a real game element: once you’d get to a certain freshness level, you’d make your way to the flower shop only to see Kamal manning the counter instead of Habit, and he’d suggest you go help Habit deal with his pest problem because you “look like you’re pretty capable with slingin’ ink”. After a tutorial where you learn how to deal with the big boy snailiens, you could join up with some other players and take ‘em on. You would, of course, be rewarded handsomely for your help.

Funny little image I also had in mind: he’s been known to get stuck in shark form at inopportune moments, and when this happens he’ll need someone to crack his back to make it easier to shift back into humanoid form. No one knows how to handle this unless they’ve done it at least once because no one else around him has booooones XD (also his humanoid form is prolly gonna still have green skin despite no part of the porbeagle being green because I don’t currently feel comfortable assigning natural skintones to any of the SFM characters who are canonically green/blue/purple/etc, unless their canon design makes it Very Obvious what natural skintone would be most likely, ie. Tiff)

Octoling Kamal

Kamal was significantly easier to work with due to my experience with drawing Octolings already hahaha

Kamal’s the assistant manager at Habit’s flower shop, which is basically a fancy way of saying he’s the only other person there who could legally be a full-time employee. He handles most of the logistics of keeping the shop stable, because as much passion the boss has for their work, passion alone can’t pay the bills and he’s often a tad too distracted to deal with the numbers and paperwork. They work pretty well together, even if they do both have a tendency to goof off on the job.

I seriously doubt that Marina and the various incarnations of Agent 8 were the only Octolings to migrate topside after the events of the first game, so Kamal was probably one of several who found a way out. I haven’t hammered this part out yet entirely, but I’m pretty sure that he would’ve been on staff for a weapons/tech r-n-d group before leaving at his first opportunity and grabbing some random gadget in the process. He hated the place he ended up emerging in because it was near a small town where everyone was so spread out and him being used to (not necessarily comfortable with, just used to) constant sounds at all hours made the silence of just the first night unbearable. So he tried to hop a train to any urban area that he came across but in his haste to get topside he forgot to bring any moneeeyyy, not even Octarian money just no money at all, left it all behind like a goof. He ends up freaking out to himself because even though he’s got a valuable Thing on him it’s not like the train people are gonna recognize it as anything but junk or even be able/willing to accept it as replacement for standard currency, then out of nowhere this huge-ass shark man just shows up and buys a ticket to Inkopolis for him? Okay, sure, he’ll take what he can get, even if the guy was all “u owe me a ‘favor’ ;-)” once they were on their way. And of course that’s how he met his future boss and bf. ;P

At some point Kamal gets a little jealous of all the kids having fun with the turf war stuff and kinda wishes he could try it out at least once, but of course that’s kid stuff and he’s got Adult Responsibilities to worry about... Oh wait, there’s actually an adults’ league? And Habit’s insisting on giving him time off to go try it and see how it is? 

(also those flower seed bags say “bloomy” in one of the Inkling alphabets, and yes it WAS a “woomy” joke on my part)

Other details (to be expanded upon)

Putunia and Flower Kid are often seen at the flower shop, even though I don’t have any designs for them yet). Putunia is there so often because she’s Habit and Kamal’s adopted kid, and while she REALLY wants to get into turf war she’s far too young. (if you’ve ever seen the Inkling growth chart, she’s at stage 3 of growth) Flower Kid’s there because they are a part-time employee, often delivering products around town, but they spend enough time with their employers and Putunia that they might as well be their honorary child as well. They’re old enough to participate in turf war, they’re just not interested in doing so.

Please tell us of the Octo and Crab, you incredible funky story man

Oh fuck yeah. Strap yourself in, because this is gonna be a ride. Welcome to Graveyard Broadcast, a Splatoon AU where not much has changed except for it being turbo focused on the deeper lore of the series, as well as having some Speculations of mine thrown in there.

Here we go. Putting in a read-more because I talk a lot.

Alright! So the octoling you’re referring to is Atsuko Ashikaga, an Octarian general. She’s Japanese and she comes off as very rude and abrasive but is nice to those she befriends. She looks like this! 

She’s 6′1 and absolutely shredded. She finds weaponry to be a very fascinating subject, and while engineering and designing isn’t her strong point at all, she does know her way around weapons in an actually using them sense. 

In the first game she was in charge of Area 3, Missions 11, 13, and 14. In the second game she is in charge of Sector 4, Missions 19, 20, and 21. She got lucky circumstantially and got very conveniently relocated. The way ‘generals’ are divided up with Octarians is having one general overseeing three mission areas, which are usually divided up by a very clear line. She has a bit of a found family/childhood friend situation with a couple of other generals, namely Chamberlain Westbrook and Cassian Ramirez (both of which i can talk about later.) 

Now, sometimes you get a little bit bored of the same old Octopolis and the same old Octo Valley. And so one day she waltzes her way up to Inkopolis through one of the Several Entry Points of getting up there for Octarians, and on her way to the plaza she runs into Sheldon. Quite literally. He was a bit distracted and smacked face first into her ribs. Yes. Her Ribs.He’s still short as hell. Absolute manlet. 4′7″, to be exact! Which is just two inches shorter than Pearl. Is this introduction painfully anime? Yes. Is that the point? Absolutely.

So she chastises him for not watching where he’s going and being clumsy. Alright. Cool. Great. But then they strike up a conversation, because he was carrying a few blueprints and that totally just dropped on the ground and she Absolutely noticed them. Obviously, if you see a dude who just dropped a bunch of blueprints, the first thing you ask is Oh Shit What Are Those. And so mutual weapon interest is discovered. Cool. Great. Chat for a bit, part ways. But if it was left at that the story wouldn’t exist.She came back and found him again in Ammo Knights. Friendship mode: Engaged. Which is great news for Sheldon, y’know, considering this is all taking place during the first game and man were people absolutely brutal to him during that time period. Jesus Christ. Plus he just. Didn’t really have friends during the first game. 

They hang out a lot from then on! And it’s great! Atsuko gets an excuse to leave the valley, Sheldon gets company that does not hate him for existing, they both share several interests and their personalities foil each other and it’s all cool and fun. 

Now’s a good time to mention I’ve redesigned Sheldon! Because he’s… Missing things in the game!

Most notably Six Entire Legs and  Eight Entire Eyes.

Also had to add a couple things to make that not look… strange. You can find art of him Here and Here. Am I shamelessly promoting myself and my art here? Yes. Do I care? No.

Anyways! You got all that great friendship and spending time together and y’know how it be with that. By that I mean it’s time for absolute heterosexuality. They form a very wholesome relationship. This is all still during the events of the first game, and it carries out to the second. She helps out around Ammo Knights when she can (usually around store closing times because that’s when she’s free for the most part,) and does a lot of weapon prototype testing. It’s a massive help and makes production and all that go by a bit more smoothly. Plus Atsuko gets to try out cool new weapons and sometimes have some minor explosions, both of which are cool! Explode your girlfriend 101! 

I like to think they work very well together. She protecc. She attacc. But Most Importantly. she gun.

Little side note, her main is the Bamboozler, and the reason for this being her main and not, like, a regular Octarian weapon, is because it was actually a gift from Sheldon. He isn’t very fond of giving weapons out as gifts at all, and the Bamboozler did have quite a bit of value to him (especially in the first game,) so she, despite this not being her main/preferred weapon class, took it very graciously, practiced with it very vigorously until she got really good at it, and has refused to use any other weapon since. 

Now, the reason it was given as a gift in the first place was that she had taken to showing him some Octarian technology and weaponry (in confidence, of course,) knowing he’d lose his absolute mind over it and thinking it might help him with his engineering skills! A nice gesture for a nice gesture. Equivalent exchange. 

Now, I have a lot more info on them, this is just a basic rundown, but this is getting long enough as it is. You can ask for more info (be it details or clarification or literally whatever you want to know) at any time!

By the way! All of this shit was written/planned out in the first game, before Nintendo put out the Agent 8 article for the Splatocalypse, implying that Sheldon is gonna have Agent 8 work with him in Ammo Knights in the third game! So that’s great! What the fuck!

Makes me a tad nervous that people are going to accuse me of ripping that bit off, so I’m putting that warning out there. She was already designed and written out and this dynamic was planned out pretty early into the first game. I did this first. Nintendo made my girl canon jsdhgsjdg

WarioWare Gold

I loved WarioWare since I was a kid, so it’s nice to see the microgames come back

I can’t wait to see what little stories they’ll have for each character

Dillon's Dead-Heat Breakers

I haven’t played the first 2, but this still looks neat.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey

Bowser’s Inside Story is my favourite of the Mario and Luigi series, so it’s nice to see it in sweet HD!

Nice that they kept the Bowser’s Minions aspect of the game too.

I wonder why they skipped Partners In Time, though...

Luigi's Mansion

I LOVED LUIGI’S MANSION SO IT’S COOL TO SEE IT ON 3DS.

I haven’t played Dark Moon yet, but I’m interested to see how it’ll work.

I can’t wait for all the kids to enjoy this game for the first time. Like my little 13 year old cousin!

Kirby Star Allies

THIS IS ONE OF THE GAMES I’M MOST EXCITED FOR THIS MONTH. I WAS ALREADY SATISFIED AND THEY JUST ADDED MORE STUFF I LIKE.

Bandana Dee, Meta Knight, Dedede, Rick, Kine, Koo, Marx, and Gooey are ALL playable which is so awesome!!!! I wanna play as them all, but I’m probably gonna go for my boy Kirby as usual.

I seriously cannot wait to play it next week.

Okami HD

I was thinking about getting Okami at some point and now I can get an HD version.

I can’t wait to finally try this game.

Mario Tennis Aces

It looks fun. I’m interested in the story mode.

In conclusion, I’m very satisfied and I can’t wait to see what these games will bring. I hope to see some Metroid Prime 4, Pikmin 4, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Smash Bros news in the future.
