I always felt like immunities were kinda boring so I made a bunch of resistance skills that don't give immunities
Poison Res Lv 1: Halves damage from poison. Lv 2: While poisoned, all health recovery is greatly increased. Lv 3: Quarters damage from poison.
Blast Res Lv 1: Blastblight takes twice as long to explode and won't explode from getting hit. Lv 2: Increases attack while blastblighted.
Sleep Res Lv 1: Prevents fully falling asleep. You can still become drowsy. Lv 2: Upon becoming drowsy, restores 50 health and increases maximum stamina.
Paralysis Res Lv 1: Paralysis greatly reduces walk speed instead of immobilizing. Attacks and evasion are unaffected. Lv 2: Upon paralysis, prevents sharpness from decreasing for 1 minute.
Blight Res Lv 1: Weakens effects of elemental blights. While suffering a blight, increases elemental damage dealt. Lv 2: Using the "Oh yeah!" gesture inflicts you with your weapon's element's blight.
Confusion Res Lv 1: Increases affinity and evasion while confused. Lv 2: Using the "Dance" gesture causes confusion.
Bleed Res Lv 1: Recover from bleed twice as fast. Lv 2: The increased natural recovery rate after recovering from bleed lasts twice as long.
Bowling Ball Lv 1: While covered in mud, snow, etc., defense is increased and rolling into a monster will deal blunt damage and reduce the effect's duration.
Glider Lv 1: Press dodge while stunned by wind pressure to roll out of the stun. Lv 2: Press and hold dodge while stunned by wind pressure to ride the wind and leap into the air.
#original#monster hunter#confusion my beloved#the only good status ailment in the series#nothing for earplugs or tremors because you can just use evasion for those ones#you can probably use evasion for wind pressure too but i can never read the visual cues well enough to time it#anyway immunities are boring#it's like “this monster can poison you! how will you Adapt and Adjust and Prepare to deal with this gimmick?!”#and then you just use poison immunity to turn off the poison and there's no gimmick anymore#here the poison still MATTERS but it's toned down to a less devastating level#and in place of an immunity you get a unique buff#except glider. glider is basically just immunity because wind pressure isn't a unique gimmick it's just an annoyance#i was imagining the classic skill system while writing this but it could work just as well (or maybe better) in the modern system#doesn't matter the point is the concept: no immunities. resistances and compensatory buffs but no immunities#when a monster has a gimmick the optimal strategy should not be to turn off the gimmick

I have entered your blog and you will have to deal with an OC lore devourer.
I love the ISAT OC lore HAND THEM OVER /j
HEHAHAHAAH
ok ok here's some lil fun facts abt the party's craft skills:
All of Celest's Craft Skills are named after tarot cards. Her default group is The High Priestess (Examine), The Magician (Default Paper attack), Strength (party attack buff), and Wheel of Fortune (a randomized skip, gives turn to another party member and boosts their crit chance). a lot of her skills increase crit chance and mainly she works as a more direct fighter/support character, with a heavy focus on accuracy
Orion's crafts all have an associated origami. Each time he uses a craft skill he folds the associated origami and imbues it with craft. His defaults are Papercut (WHEEZE. Default paper attack), Rabbit (Attack speed buff), Tiger (attack buff), and turtle (defense buff). most of his craft skills are buffs for the party.
Himawari's level is almost double of the rest of the party's and he has a lot more craft skills as a result. they also vary depending on what weapon or craft type he's using. his defaults are Strike (basic rock attack), whirlwind strikes (all enemy rock attack) and Cloaked Shield (defense for one ally, essentially works the same as mirabelle's shields). the names of the later more powerful crafts are inspired by demon slayer according to @dasnercaret.
Haruka works the same as Bonnie, serving as a support gimmick and not really having an active combat role until the very last fight due to...... extraneous circumstances. however, her randomized crafts are TAKE THIS!!! (kicks her tenmari at the enemy and bonks them for a lil bit of damage), Oops (misses), Look Out! (speed buff), Stay Back! (defense buff), Rest Up! (heals a party member for 30% of their health), and I'll Help! (heals all party members for 10% of their health. after friend quest TAKE BACK!!! gets a boost kind of like bonnie's.
We have three unique status effects: STUN, TRANCE, and HYPNOSIS. STUN skips the affected party member's turn; TRANCE acts similarly to SLOW; and HYPNOSIS places them into a sleep kind of like time freeze. there are items and counters to these though, including the dream charm that Celest gets from Himawari, which has the unintentional makes her immune to TRANCE.

Possibly the most impactful change that the PMDA system could possibly make is actually to its items, even moreso than its moves. Many forms of recovery through items actually got nerfs, while Orbs remained largely unchanged. Berries that heal statuses, by default, have a failure chance- though, there's an optional rule and several ways to overcome the limitation. Oran Berrie received a nerf, too, which was to be expected given its... Usual performance. It's brought more in-line with how they work in the mainline games. A nice heal to have, but hardly 100 HP. To balance this, besides there being items like Toxic Orbs and Leftovers now, there's heavier emphasis on healing moves that aid your other players, with a lot of them getting pretty sweeping buffs. Heal Pulse has been made Adjacent and scales on Special Attack, Milk Drink is a MASSIVE heal, Heal Bell hits all allies that can hear its song, Safeguard is total negative status immunity, and so on. In moving the balance from items to Moves, I've found it encourages at least someone in the party to take on a supporting twist, but in practice I've found it makes just about everyone pick up something to aid the team as a whole now that it's more punishing. Goodness knows the Elgyem is definitely looking forward to their Screens.
That aside, there's actually an entirely new category of items to PMDA: Medicine items! Generally more powerful and rarer than Berries, Medicine items show up in some places you'd not usually find items like Berries. Ruins, factories, old Human places and the likes. They're generally much more powerful than their Berry counterparts- with the exception to some aging Lemonade and the most basic of Potions- and have unique benefits unto their own, like granting an additional action on-use and even curing rare statuses like Perish Song in a pinch. They can also restore PP to a Move's entire PP Pool and permanently increase your stats! That's... That's just Vitamins, those were a thing before. I won't pretend that's too fancy.
Something I wanted to emphasize wasn't just that Moves are important to support your team, though. Indeed, item-based builds can work and are very good, especially with support from several Item-enhancing IQ skills. It's also a good time to point out that piercing thrown items still works in this system- for *all* item types. You can work out that engine if you've played a PMD game before. I believe that, while numbers are important in PMDA, the progression of options is far more impactful. Even now, some of my players are standing toe-to-toe with high-level Pokemon at level 20. A team of four can reasonably contest a level 80 Pokemon without dying.

Fuck it, I did Persona 5 Boy, might as well do the blue one.
P3 x Genshin.

(I stole the top right quote from spoilers I heard from a book lol)
If I was going to do him being Inazuman I would've called him Makoto, but I chose Minato for the same reason I chose Akira: I like it better.
Under the cut, of course :|
T/CW: Canon-typical death of minors
Line: Joining a team.
"I'll make sure you make it to your destination safely."
Just to get this out of the way: I was going to have him be from Snezhnaya because I think the Cryo nation suits him for some reason, however I realized both he and Arlecchino had relations with the moon so...
He's Arlecchino's older brother, they're twins, not because of the Genshin weird twin theories, but because of the Persona dead twin theory, of how in Portable the Fe/MC is the twin that survives the car crash.
About: Hobbies.
"I quite like playing the piano... Huh? You want me to play for you sometime? I'll think on it."
Minato has a Hydro Vision, which if theories are correct represents having a strong desire to protect that which is important to them. If you beat Persona 3 in any form, or watch the movies, you would understand why he has this type of Vision.
About: Vision.
"It's useful when traversing the desert, and Hydro is an element that has the greatest capacity to heal. If only it could heal internal turmoil."
Minato's weapon of choice is unique in that the player can give him any weapon. In universe and out of universe, this is because he has experience welding many types of weaponry, however his Specialty Weapon (or whatever it's called) is a sword.
This is mainly a reference to in the original P3 he could use any weapon type except for Guns, which is because they were hand guns- literally. In later renditions, he could only use a sword, though.
Side note: his Sword, Lucifer's Blade, heals damage equal to 30% of dealt damage per hit.
About: Flexibility.
"Why can I use any weapon type? I trained to do so a long time ago, flexibility is key in combat, like how you can use multiple elements."
His basic skill is a shield that casts an AoE water attack on surrounding areas. Additionally, he, much like Joker, can use randomly chosen items to induce reactions. This is a blatant reference to the items in the Persona series that the characters can use to do elemental attacks without SP.
However, unlike Akira, he cannot use matches since they're ruined by water, and he doesn't need to use bottled water to induce water. Minato uses a folding fan to induce swirl.
About: Elements.
"I think adding elements to my attacks despite not having an Anemo Vision is quite important, especially if I run into someone with a Hydro immunity and I'm using a Catalyst."
His burst is an all party heal, much like Jean's, except that it negates elemental reactions on the party for 10 seconds. If he's at C5, it adds another 5 seconds and a defense buff.
He's very defense and healing oriented, which makes sense considering P3's final act.
About: Protection.
"I don't need to be protected, but I'd rather not see anyone I know die. Again."
Minato is a five star, naturally. His splash art is him holding a catalyst and spear, a crescent moon of hydro behind him as he looks to be reading his catalyst.
His banner, if this is in the same universe, always takes place 2 before Joker's. If not, it coincides usually with Fatui characters, despite not being a member of the Fatui.
About: The Fatui.
"I don't care."
He first shows up during the Liyue Archon Quest, as a researcher from the Akademiya. He seems to have known that Zhongli was Rex Lapis from the first meeting they had, although the how is unknown.
He then appears during the Inazuma Archon Quest, but only in the background. If the player talks to him and asks how he got to Inazuma he'll say: "I walked."
He reappears later in Sumeru, studying in the Akademiya, then in Fontaine, in the prison for an unknown reason (he got lost).
About: The House of the Hearth.
"It was quite cold when I was younger, but I hope Arlecchino made it a warmer place. Recently, I got an invitation from her to return. Something about a reward for one of the well performing children."
He lacks a Story Quest centered around himself.
About: Arlecchino.
"My sister is... An interesting woman. But I don't think you need me to tell you that."
His Friendship Rank affects his burst, much like how Akira's does. It raises the HP healed when casting his burst, adding an additional 1.5% per each rank.
About: Happy Birthday.
"Oh, it's your birthday? If there's anything you'd like, anything at all, you need only ask, I may get it for you. If I knew it was your birthday, I would have already gotten you something. Apologies."
Extras.
About: You.
"My thoughts on you? You're strong. And... Nice. To be truthful, I lack a sense of justice most people believe I have. I just want those I care for to live, however you'll help anyone who asks. You're none too shabby."
If you put this and the Joker AU together.
About: Akira.
"I think I fought him often, a long time ago. He was a strong opponent, but I won most of our battles, but I was there to train him... There was another guy, I wonder what happened to him?"
About: Tartaglia.
"Huh? Who's that?"
About: Furina.
"She's quite beautiful, truly. However, I can only feel sorry for what she's gone through. I think she should take a nap."
Leaving the team.
"Ahh, I'm going to go take a nap, then."
Thanks for reading this travesty, later 🐊

Hypothetical Rank Ups No. 86-88: Jing Ke
[Okay I know I usually do these in order of Passive - S1 - S2 - S3 - NP, followed by the same priority of the less necessary "EX" rank ups, but I'm gonna move the S1 to last for this because it's a complete ground-up rework that'll take a lot of explaining. So instead it'll be Passive - S3 - NP - S1]
New Passive:
Qin Slayer (Augmented) -Apply Special ATK [Qin] to self (33%). -Immune to Immobilization from [Qin] enemy skills. ((Unlocks after clearing Lostbelt No.3 Section 13))
Self Explanatory really. Honestly EVERY assassin deserves an Oberon style ??? unique skill that reflects the kill(s) that made them famous, particularly since it allows a way to offset the natural damage penalty assassins have to deal with...even though they're, ya know, specialized killers. 33% effectively brings the damage up from a base .9 to a base 1.2, which I think is a fitting enough offset. The immobilization immune is reflective of how things went the second time around between the two in Lb3.
Insolent A -> Insolence Towards the Sun
Increase own Quick Card effectiveness (3 times, 3^ turns).^ Increase own Critical Strength (3 times, 3 turns^). Gain Class Affinity half-advantage against [Ruler] class (3 turns). [Quick scaling increased to 20-40%]
Pretty simple here. As always i cannot overstate how bad Quick has it, and that's made even worse when the only quick buff you have is both 1 turn AND only a max of 30%, so we're raising that slightly to 40% (but with the same base amount of 20%, to place more emphasis on leveling the skill to get its worth) and making both the critical and the quick buff split from one turn, to three attacks across 3 turns. Same number of hits, but with much more flexibility, and that flexibility is needed because if you're using Jing Ke as intended then the new effect makes it so you want this skill active as often as possible, emphasizing individual precise strikes that rely on both specific color and criticals rather than a constant boost to strength
Now against ruler enemies, Jing Ke gains both offensively and defensively the 1.5x advantage that extra classes typically get (such as what Rulers have defending against the standard non-berserker classes, or Alter Egos have when attacking cavalry classes). When combined with their new passive this also means they have near full advantage against any Ruler enemy with the Qin trait at. How oddly specific. 1.8x base damage means by default they're just as effective at taking out a certain peacocking emperor as any berserker, but without the berserker's weak defenses.
Name wise, I'm particularly proud of this one. Not just with the parallel's to Jing Ke's recurring connection to the moon through their poems, but also just the idea of that idea of "Insolent towards authority" taking up a few notches in scale to match them standing up to the "one true human". The idea of standing up to something that's all encompassing and omnipresent, that is the center of the universe, something that is unfathomably bigger than oneself, and still managing to defy it.
All I Do is Kill B+ -> EX-
Deal significant damage to a single enemy. Grants self On-Death buff (2 turns). [Activates First] - When defeated, Decrease NP Gauge by 2 and inflict Stun on a single enemy (1 turn). Reduce your HP by 2000^. [Demerit] [Caution: This can kill Jing Ke if her HP is below 2000!] <Overcharge> Medium chance to apply Death for a single enemy.^ Gain Critical Stars.v Restore a large amount of NP Gauge to yourself. [NP Refund scales with overcharge at 20/28/35/43/50%. Instant Death chance scaling increasing to 50/75/100/125/150%. On Death debuffs will default to last enemy to attack Jing Ke, or failing that the rightmost enemy. If Jing Ke dies from her own NP and the target survives, these effects are applied to the surviving target.]
God Jing Ke's NP ticks me off. Such an emotionally moving concept, such a significant event, and it's just....a mediocre damage single hit NP whose main use might as well be generating a star bomb. I'm not saying its the only NP like that but god it's the one that's always irked me since day 1. So yeah, this one had a LOT of rewrites before I finally settled on what it ended up as.
The damage is unchanged, and we're also getting one of the rare times I'm nerfing the base abilities by bringing the number of crit stars down by 10 to 10/15/20/25/30. Not only was this effect redundant, given they're a triple quick unit with a star bomb skill already, but anything I want to give this NP would be too much if I let them generate THAT many stars, and I very much want to take things in a different direction. You could frankly argue that I should just get rid of the star bomb on NP entirely and the only reason I'm not is because while Jing Ke is a triple quick assassin with a Quick Np on top of that, they have the dreaded year 1 hitcounts - including a 1-hit NP - meaning they're completely gimped for both NP and Star generation So on the subject of NP generation, that's why they get a massive refund on their NP now that effectively makes them Assassin Medea in terms of NP spam, with the same base refund and significantly lower but still notable scaling with overcharge (7.5% as opposed to an entire additional 20% per level). Oh and her other overcharge effect is getting buffed but to have double the level scaling, but...well It's an instant death effect so whatever. So let's just move onto the hook of all this!
Put simply, Jing Ke now has 500-Year Old Obsession on steroids directly built into their NP. Rather than 2 turns NP seal and a useless DOT though, it instead immediately reduces charge by 2, which depending on the situation could be much more or much less useful AND it also ensures it doesnt make the CE obsolete AND even more than that allows the two to stack with each other should you so choose to orchestrate that scenario. Of course, this comes at a cost. The NP actually has a second nerf compared to before....though depending on how you view it, it might not actually be a nerf. Jing Ke now loses double the HP, at 2000 per NP. This combined with their new refund potential means they risk burning through their own HP, even recreating their own death as they strike out at an opponent only to die immediately after. Should they die this way, instead of being based on who last damaged them their grudge will instead target the one they used their NP on (assuming the enemy survived, otherwise it once again defaults to the rightmost enemy remaining).
SO, tldr, their np is now much less about the crit stars and more about spamming it until either Jing Ke or their target dies, and even if the former goes first it's not without the last laugh as they throw a massive wrench into any enemy plans to buy their remaining allies a moment of opportunity. Which is a perfect lead in to Jing Ke's completely reworked first skill:
Restrain A -> The Perfect Moment EX-
Increase own Critical Star Gather Rate by 200% (3 turns). Gain Critical Stars. Apply Ignore Invincible to self (1 time). Apply Evade for yourself (1 time). Apply Target Focus to all allies except self (1 turn). Apply Fated Hour (Opportunity) to self if there are at least two of this unit’s normal command cards available: -Locks currently dealt set of Command Cards (2 turns) -Decrease your Critical Star Gather Rate by 500% (1 turn). -Apply delayed buff: Increase own Quick Card Star Gathering Rate (1 turn). -Apply delayed buff: Gain Critical Stars after 1 turn. -Apply delayed buff: Increase own NP Strength after 1 turn. [10-40%] -Decrease own ATK by 35% (1 turn). [Demerit] [Skill cooldown changed to 9/8/7. Star bomb scales from 5-10, NP Strength up scales from 10-40%]
I love you deck manipulation <3 ...even if you along with the sheer number of other effects are forcing me to increase the skill cooldown by more than i'd like. But hey that's why it's a full on rework i guess. This is the first of a potentially reoccurring effect I've decided to call "Fated Hour." The general idea is Fated Hour always involves either shuffle or deck lock mechanics combined with other effects that reflect an attempt to recreate what could be seen as the servant in question's "zenith" or otherwise pivotal moment in their legend. In Jing Ke's case, they find that once in a lifetime moment to strike a seemingly untouchable enemy, and they take it. Naturally, this has the qualifier that Jing Ke must have the ability to launch a precise attack, meaning Fated Hour will only activate if at least two of Jing Ke's command cards is currently available (which in combination with an NP would mean an Extra Attack chain is available). If not, then the skill's effectiveness is drastically reduced meaning you need to actually plan this out by counting cards to get the skill's real value rather than bank on RNG.
Without Fated Hour, The Perfect Moment becomes, if nothing else, a powerful survival tool. For the current turn target focus is applied to all other allies and Jing Ke gains an evade charge for insurance against the likes of AOE NPs, as well as a single hit of Ignore Invincible for the same indefinite duration as the evade. Fated Hour wouldnt trigger simply from having an NP available, so this could be used to grant Jing Ke a temporary Ignore Invincible ST NP while they have less than the required 2 command cards available. That said, Fated Hour is clearly what everything really revolves around.
Laying in wait among their allies, Jing Ke spends the current turn preparing to strike. They decrease their star gather to nothing, both to prevent their own criticals drawing attention to themselves and to allow their allies a better crit chance. They also give up a hefty amount of their already below-par attack stat this turn in exchange for a an even heftier and much more valued NP strength buff the next turn; the aforementioned survival tools naturally exist to increase the chance they're going to make it to that next turn. This is all naturally in addition to the usual benefits of locking command cards. ...On that note, however, this is where it becomes important to count cards. The ignore invincible applies to the next attack from Jing Ke regardless of whether it is needed. This combined with the fact that fated hour requires you have at least one of Jing Ke's normal cards means in order to get maximum efficacy you'd HAVE to have no more than the minimum requirement of 2 of Jing Ke's cards available. Most of the time you won't need that ignore invincible in theory but the sheer fcking number of bosses they slap it on says otherwise but it'd certainly make dealing with a certain Ruler's NP much easier. How very fitting that they'd remain a particular challenge for Jing Ke to properly assassinate...but either way, Jing Ke will still receive a hearty buff next turn. Their actual attack stat will remain unchanged aside from the aforementioned NP buffs, and they're still reliant on their third skill for Quick and Critical buffs, but they'll have the tools to take full advantage of those buffs with a delayed activation on Restraint's original star bomb and a burst of quick-star-gather. The fact that the gather is color specific of course means there's yet another requirement to optimizing the skill, as you'd ideally need not only 2 of Jing Ke's cards, but specifically 2 of their quick cards for maximum damage. What's more, 10 stars is not enough on its own to guarantee two crits, in fact double that would be needed, so if you dont want to leave it up to chance you'll need to make sure that Jing's allies be it by card or skill can generate an additional 10 stars between turns.
This is all a very long winded way of outlining all the requirements needed to truly take advantage of ALL this skill now offers, but given all the new kit brings it's hopefully worth it. More flexible burst damage, anti-ruler F2P niche, sacrifice tactics, and now quick crit synergy with everything from ignore invincible to deck lock. I dunno if it rounds out to Ten Steps per say, but it's clear that when Jing Ke is allowed proper planning, naught will stay their pace.

Maple in SAO
You know because Bofuri Season 2 is now coming out I was thinking about the few fanfics I’ve seen of Bofuri SAO crossovers, and about how everyone seems to think Maple would be in any danger in the world of SAO.
Maple became crazy strong due to her unconventional thinking leading to her unknowingly using various game play exploits coded into NewWorld Online, that the Devs had left in the game at the time of release. Not thinking to patch them because surely no sensible person would actually play the game in such a way.
Holes that the Devs didn’t patch until the first event revealed that how the stat system worked (in combination with the various boosts and buffs Maple had managed to get), had allowed Maple to create a character build that was basically invulnerable to physical attacks (and poison).
Something that could be done because the developers still have complete access to the games code, and can change it however they want.
Sword Art Online on the other hand was cut off from all outside influence on it’s launch day. Not to mention the Cardinal System encoded into the game also means that it would more likely than not view any attempt to change the games’ code as attempted cheating.
If there were exploits in SAO that would let Maple create the same character build with the same perks as in NWO, then Maple would have just kept her absolutely broken build from the first two episodes. She just would remain functionally immortal Maple.
Sure Kayaba could probably change the code to nerf Maple into being vulnerable to piercing damage (though the idea that he created SAO alone and had his hands on every minute scrap of code is ridiculous), if he discovered there was an immortal teenage girl wandering around his sandbox, but I honestly don’t know if he would.
Personally I think Kayaba would be too intrigued and amused by what could only be described as a self-made mob to nerf Maple.
I could even almost see Kayaba at one point entertaining the idea of turning Maple into the final boss of the game that had to be defeated. After hearing about her numerous exploits and her gaining such a large number of the unique quest skills/buffs that were scattered around SAO.
Though I don’t think he’d actually go that route, considered he’d planned from the start to be the final boss. After being the hero for the first 95 levels of the game. A kind of great betrayal that the greatest player was really the final boss all along.
[I think he’d entertain the idea of using Maple in his place because it’d essentially be the same thing emotionally, with the added bonus of being completely genuine. Not secretly a developer, or even a beta tester, just a random teenage girl who’d bought the game as her first foray into MMORPGs, who turned out to be the greatest of them all by complete happenstance... Being made the final boss after helping clear level 95. He decided against it because he knew there’d be no way to get Maple to actually play along as the final boss.
Maple would just surrender and die if it meant every other player would get to wake up and go free. That’d be the type of hero she would be at that point if she’d actually been the “Greatest Hero of SAO” up until clearing lvl 95. After years of being the only immortal in a death game, surrendering to her own end to see everyone else go free would be extremely poetic, and make Kayaba seem like even more of a god complex puppet master dick than he already was.]
So no, I don’t think Maple would have been nerfed at all if she and her ridiculous character build managed to happen in SAO instead of NWO. I think Kayaba would have let her run around totally immune to attack damage, and with unlimited Devours on her shield.
I also 100% think Maple would have ended up with a legitimate cult if she was in SAO, rather than her adorable and supportive fan club that she’s got among NWO players.
She’d be the only known immortal in a literal death game (considering Kayaba went out of his way to hide the fact that he was cheating and immortal up until his fight with Kirito). SAO was so crazy there was an entire murder gang running around.
You can’t tell me that in SAO, our sweet Maple, the adorable and immortal devourer of monsters, the flying calamity, wouldn’t have a cult of some sort. Multiple cults even. Because she definitely would.
Humans get weird in times of duress, and you can’t tell me some desperate players wouldn’t look upon Maple as some kind of gift from the divine. Or an agent of evil...
A practically immortal player who gains an in-numeral number of ridiculous power ups and abilities. She’d have to be either sent by the gods to help free them or in league with the devil who’d trapped them in the first place.
#bofuri crossover#sword art online crossover#bofuri x sao#maple would have been just as powerful and immortal as kayaba#she'd definitely have a cult of some kind#at least one but possibly more

Aerith in light of healthcare provider
So, I've wanted to write an analysis about Aerith in light of her medical viewpoint for quite a long time but only recently got the chance to complete it. It is well known in the game that Aerith is the healer of the story. She possesses a great MP with a limit break to heal and buff people which greatly affects your gameplay. Of course, you can equip others with Healing and Prayer materias to render them useful for healing as well. But story-wise, no one can take away Aerith's status as the healer. We know in canon that Aerith provided herbs to the Sector 5 slums doctor to create medicine. And if you finished the Corneo Stash side quest in Chapter 14, you can return to the church and see a couple of elderly sitting on the pew praying. And when you come closer to them you'll hear them talking about how they didn't see Aerith around and they're sure she's alright and probably be around healing people. You know, since the Sector 7 plate just fell. (Even though Aerith is not alright actually coz she was kidnapped by Shinra by this time) Point is, we are fed by the NPCs on how much Aerith had helped around as a healer. She had been doing this for years.
While being in denial about who she actually is, being a healer had always been implanted in her. She is used to it. When you're used to being a healer, there's a certain level when you have a different reaction compared to others. The way you think is different. Apart from that, she's also a Cetra. And we knew for a fact Cetra had a certain affinity towards souls who are returning to the Planet. Meaning, as much as she is used to healing others, she's also used to sensing death.
My whole point is that being a Cardiac Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist as I am, I can totally relate my position with Aerith, as we both have constantly helped people and encounter death on daily basis. While I'm pretty confident that the majority of these might be coincidences (because I'm pretty sure there are no doctors in the SE team), I thought the coincidences are pretty cool to ponder upon and I'm amazed at how the subtle differences between Aerith's reaction to events from other characters.
I'm gonna ignore the meta part of Aerith, mainly because I'm not discussing how much Aerith knew, and if there was anything in jeopardy of what she knew whatsoever. So we're gonna focus on the fact that she is used to healing and feeling people's death. People who are used to death on daily basis had a certain unique view on life and death. And that affects how we act upon facing them too. While this is evident throughout Remake, I'm gonna focus on the plate drop event to be more concise. I will also use Tifa as a comparison to make it easier to see the difference between the reaction of the two. Let’s start!
1) Aerith is quick in emergency situations.
When you are used to people dying, you developed a certain immunity and you are able to have a sound mind and composure at the sudden change of event. As healthcare providers, we face stable situations turning into critical real fast. And we have a switch in our minds that turns us from standby mode to rescue mode. This is exactly what happened to Aerith when Don Corneo revealed Shinra's plan to blow up Sector 7's support pillar. Tifa is part of Sector 7. It is her home. Which is why her reaction showed how she was super devastated, she slowly stood up and muttered "They wouldn't..." because she couldn't believe it. Aerith? She had that switch in her mind, and she immediately turned and say "Come on, guys! We gotta go!". She switched into that critical mode in a second. It helps that she's also not personally connected to Sector 7, and thus her judgment was not as impaired. Of course, they both switched into the critical mode in the sewer, but it was at the moment of revelation that made it different. Just like how healthcare providers switched at the moment of revelation that their patients are at the brink of death—you immediately jumped into rescue mode.
2) She plans for the worst.
Remember after they defeated Abzu and Tifa started to question Corneo's information? She didn't want to believe it, because it didn't make sense to destroy your years of efforts building the plate just to get back to a small group like AVALANCHE. Think about the money they put in to build it, they're gonna have to put them all again. In fact, along their way out of the sewer, Tifa voiced out multiple times how this had been bothering her. But I'm intrigued with Aerith's reply "If he's telling the truth, then we should go. And if it turns out he was lying, then so what?". This here is exactly what doctors do. We plan and prepare for the worst. And if the worst didn't happen, then so what? If you ever had life-saving surgery, your doctors would tell you "You need this surgery coz you might die. But if you do the surgery, there's a high chance you'll survive, but there's a small chance you'll die too". And we prepare for that small chance that our patients die. No, we don't let our preparations lacking because we hope they'll survive. We prepare for the worst outcome possible and get all the equipment ready in case they'll die. If they didn't, then so what? It doesn't mean our preparations were futile efforts. It only means we were prepared. And that line of Aerith seriously hits home to me.
3) She hopes for the best.
Before they crossed the water sewer, Tifa once again voiced out how she couldn't stop thinking about what Corneo said, and she was still hoping that he was lying. And then Aerith said, "The future isn't set in stone". (Again, I'm gonna ignore the meta part of Aerith) And then she proceeded to set up that small date with Tifa. Believe it or not, this is actually what we do during bad calls. We'd talk about what we would do after all this ends; we'd go out dining, or playing games/darts, or go drinking, or whatever it is that makes us happy. Just to keep our minds calm and to allow us to hope for the future, even if it's just a few hours away. It gives us hope and courage to go on. We plan for the worst, but we hope for the best. The more critical the situation is, the more you need to be level-headed. And needless to say, after this point onwards, Tifa is much more calmed down from her struggle to keep herself focus.
4) She follows orders.
This might sound weird to some, but the ability to cast away your worry and focus on what you can do, instead of what you should do, is important in emergency situations. You need to know what you don't know. You don't get in the way of your comrades. If you're not good at intubating, you don't insist to intubate in emergency situations just because you wanna help. Seriously, you'll just make things worse. When Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith were attacked before climbing up and out of the sewer, Cloud asked both Tifa and Aerith to keep going. Aerith immediately answers "Okay" and left—without a single but. This is significant because it shows that Aerith knew she'd be better off leaving. She doesn't need to offer help, coz her help was not needed. This is not the place where she could help. The ability to recognize this is very important for healthcare professionals. Tifa was a bit more reluctant to leave, but that's probably because she is a martial artist in-game. Also, the fact that Aerith could still joke "We're not delicious" is just so real lol! Yup, we joke sometimes when we're facing deaths—doesn't mean we lose focus in saving the dying person in front of us, don't worry. And then it happens again when they reached Sector 7 when Cloud asked them to stay with Wedge as he goes up, Aerith immediately answered "sure"—because she can "patch" Wedge up, it's where her abilities lie. This is even more accentuated when an injured Wedge argued that he can still fight when he clearly can't—making this point even more obvious. Aerith is someone with a healthcare mind, Wedge was not.
5) She supports her comrades emotionally even when she’s worried too.
When they reached the surface, they spotted a Shinra helicopter. Cloud assured them they're only on patrol. Aerith turned to Tifa and said, "Don't worry, we'll make it in time". This moment is also very iconic to me. As I mentioned, I'm an anaesthesiologist. We are the support doctors to surgeons and physicians. Those moments when we're operating on AAA surgeries and the patient is losing liters of blood and literally dying, we're pumping bloods in with our hands and get those Level 1 machines operating, and the surgeons would be panicking because it keeps bleeding? Yep, I did say it before. "We'll make it. Just concentrate on the surgery and don't worry about the bleeding", even though I'm sweating and dying here trying to keep the patient alive. But I pretended to be calm in front of my team and cheered them on. Because the whole team needs to keep calm. If one of the team loses hope, then bid your chance farewell. As an anaesthesiologist, we're almost like the anchor in the room. People look at us to know if everything's alright. I need to tell them it's alright, so they need not worry. Aerith knew Tifa is worried. And she tried to keep Tifa calm with reassurance. Even if she probably freaked out herself.
6) She doesn’t discriminate.
After they defeated the ghost at the haunted maintenance facility, Cloud tried to kill it, and Aerith didn't let him. When Cloud said that thing was dangerous, Aerith said she knows and added "but even so..." she didn't feel right about killing it. (Let's ignore the fact that the Ghoul was a lonely creature for now) It then goes to drop the train wreck which almost killed them had it not been for Cloud. Now this would have been avoided had Aerith let Cloud killed it—maybe. But here's the thing. When you're hyper-aware that people are dying left and right, you value life more. No one deserves to die, even the worst criminal in the world. You're a law-abiding citizen? You're a criminal? It doesn't make a difference to us. I know this is something super hard to comprehend. But technically only when the law subjects the criminal to the death sentence that a person should be left to die. I've been a doctor for eleven years, I was a prison doctor for two. I had the first-hand experience of dealing with criminals. It's not my job to determine whether they deserve to die or not. It's not my call whether they will turn a new leaf had they lived. I know this is something others find difficult to relate to and agree with—happens to my non-medical family and friends. The verdict to us is simple. It's a life. It's worth saving. Period. (Technically the ghosts are dead though but my point still stands)
7) She tries to her best abilities and lets go of what is out of her control.
Tifa's emotions are tampered with again when they confirmed Shinra was going to drop the plate when they overheard the Turks conversation. Her voice shook, we can literally hear it. Aerith's response was "all we can do now is keep moving". And she's right. When they reached Sector 7 and the Whispers were preventing them, she said "we have to get past whatever it takes". And later on, Tifa left to help Cloud and Barret, and Aerith agreed to get to Seventh Heaven to ensure Marlene's safety. Wedge had a short mental breakdown when he realized he was no good to anyone up or down the crime scene. And Aerith told him "We can still save a lot of lives", "That's no excuse to give up", "I need to know I did everything I could". Her encouragement helped Wedge save more people. Some argued, did she not care about the lives that already died? Now here's my point; no, we don't. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but really. What can we do for people who are already dead? Nothing. What can we do for people who are still alive? Everything. And this is the core of being a healthcare provider—we prioritize. Yes, we're also humans. We can get emotional when our own friends and relatives die. (Aerith might not be as calm had it happened at Sector 5) But when we put the healthcare provider cap on, we mean business. That is why when disasters happened, and we triage people with a black tag? That's when we know we couldn't do anything for them. We don't mourn at the black tags. We move on to the other tags instead. So that we know we already did everything in our power to help. And yes, it doesn't matter even if we lost more lives than we saved. It's worth it, even if we only saved one person out of thousands of deaths. Just like how Aerith saved Betty in Sector 7. That one life is worth it.

I'm still working out the details for how they work exactly, but I have ideas for the primary power up items from my Mario AU. As one may expect, they are ingested to activate, and ultimately are temporary, some have buffs and some don't. And an odd idea of mine is that some characters have power-ups or a combination of power-ups they prefer, which in turn results in some lingering effects rubbing off on them. This is how some characters gain their magic related abilities if they aren't inherently magic already.

Fire Flower: gain temporary pyrokenisis and throw fireballs. You can also charge the fire for a powerful blast like Mario's iconic final smash. The fire's color varies among users.
Ice flower: Similar to it's firey cousin, but instead you gain cryokenisis, allowing you to freeze enemies with a ball of ice, or skate along the ground by freezing the ground beneath you as you move along.
Thunder Flower: gain electrokenisis and throw bolts of lightning that stun foes and power or overload machinery. Similarly to the Fire flower, the lightning bolts come in varied colors among different users.
Bubble flower: hydrokenisis allows the user to trap foes in bubbles, and push them into hazards or other foes. The user can bounce off of these bubbles for extra height.
Super ball flower: an artificially created flower created and grown by E. Gadd to be a substitute for oil in the production of rubber products. The magic ability to produce and launch bouncy rubber balls is a recent discovery that has peaked the scientist's interest. The rubber balls also vary in color among users.
Cloud flower: Areokenisis allows the user to create whirlwinds and clouds to primarily aid in exploration and platforming. Clever usage can also trip up or confuse enemies.
Stone mushroom: gain a rocky form and temporary geokenisis, allowing the user to form into boulder and bowl over any and all in their path.
Metal mushroom: a new metallic form increases the user's density and durability. The user also gains minor magnetism related powers when certain conditions are met while the form is active. Oddly, the hue of the metal varies among users.
Poison mushroom: much less of a power-up, due to the fact a high tolerance to poison is required to safely eat it in the first place. Most users get terribly sick after eating it, but it's rumored to give the ability to spit toxic acid.
Ghost mushroom: the user gains a ghostly form and the benefits that come with it, like minor flight and intangibility. The effect wears off prematurely when exposed to light, and is amplified in darkness. Thankfully it's not permanent.
Magma mushroom: growing primarily in the volcanic lands of the koopa kingdom, this mushroom grants a volcanic form with complete immunity to fire and magma. The user also leaves a burning trail and can create flaming shockwaves when ground pounding.
Slime mushroom: Gain a slime transformation that allows the user to slip through gaps and grates. The user can also stick to certain surfaces and walk up them, however the form prematurely subsides upon contact with water or fire.
Power star: the premature form of Star crystals. Made up of pure cosmic energy, the user in temporarily enveloped in a powerful cosmic aura that grants invincibility once the star is absorbed.
Power heart: an item only created by Princess Peach's magic. It is like a Red mushroom and Green mushroom combined, restoring both the physical health and vitality/stamina of the consumer once absorbed.
Super vine: when eaten, the user can grow a long and twisty vine from their arm, and use it as a whip to attack foes and latch onto things.
Super leaf: when consumed, the user gains an animal-like transformation unique to each user with varying abilities.
Power orb: Kamek's magical powers infused in a pearl-like sphere. The user can temporarily cast spells to transform enemies and objects in the environment. Though if the user isn't naturally magic themselves, they can't really control what things turn into.
Whiskered Eggplant: a magical crop grown in a secret location and greedily hoarded by Waluigi. It's properties are unknown, but many believe it's the secret to some of his strange reality bending powers, such as swimming through the air, creating dark and unnatural twisting thorns, and minor hypnosis and illusions. Luigi tried a single bite once, and he began to hallucinate vividly for a few minutes.
I might come up with more later or go in depth to how each one effects different users in a different post as this has already gotten a bit long. Hope these peak a little intrest. ^^
Also I can't figure out how to cut it off on mobile, so I apologize for it's length.

Valorant Character Concept/OC: Adam
Warning: Mentions of drugs/illicit substances (Well, if anyone’s curious, here’s one of my OCs 😁)
Code Name Meaning: Adam is a street name for MDMA and the name of the first man and original sinner in Christianity. Real Name: Unknown Gender: Male (He/Him) Country: Unknown Appearance: Adam's line of work means he needs to blend in his surroundings, so his colour scheme is dark and his attire is plain. The only exception are his golden eyes, inspired by his gameplay (explained later).
Lore/Biography: Nothing is truly known about the personal life of Adam, other than how he clearly knows how to make money and cover up his tracks. Venturing onto the black market, he pursued the niche of lacing recreational drugs with stolen Radianite to create a unique service that only he could provide.
That was until he was captured and interrogated by the Kingdom. He expected his operation to get shut down but instead was instructed to continue, having to give the Kingdom a cut of the profits in return. Somewhere down the line, he changed alignments and joined the Protocol. Apparently he had seen or experienced something so horrific in the Kingdom not even his sleazy ways could approve of. What exactly he saw however, just like the rest of his life, is shrouded in mystery.
Personality:
“It's supply and demand, sweetheart.”
A naturally charismatic and charming man. Adam knows how to convince his clients to trust and rely on him and only him. His good looks don't help anyone from resisting his charms and he knows it. He's a master of talking on and on without actually giving away any information. He's a shameless flirt, sweet talking absolutely anyone with every compliment under the sun until he can find their weaknesses.
Despite his life work, Adam has always put an emphasis on honesty. He's lied plenty of times to enemies and unsuspecting clients but if he truly respects someone and views them as equal (such as the other agents in the Protocol), he expects nothing but the truth and he will give it in return. It's all part of holding up your side of the deal.
In rare moments, people can catch Adam regretfully looking back on the past. He's no fool and he's aware that the activities he's partaken in are illegal for a reason. He does have some ethics, there are some crimes out there that he will not tolerate, some that no one can commit and still call themselves human. But despite this, he still believes his negative impact on the world means there's no place more suited for him than hell.
Relationships:
The agents who don't know Adam prior seem to get along with him well enough on the outside, but they all have reservations about Adam and if he can be truly trusted. Many don't hide their scepticism and openly tell him that they're only working together because they have to.
Adam has hired Cypher multiple times to provide information on his clients and competitors before joining the Protocol. They are on good terms and consider each other respectable colleagues.
Viper and Omen do not get along with Adam. Voice lines between Adam and Viper suggest that it was Viper's experimentation that shocked Adam into going against the Kingdom. Oftentimes Adam is condescending to them for their past activities.
“I've seen what you've done, Sabine. Unlike you, it wasn't pretty.”
Playstyle: Adam is classified as a sentinel agent, specialising at preventing aggressive plays and holding back the enemy team. His main gimmick is affecting player vision due to the hallucinations and disorientation his substances induce.
Abilities:
(Signature) Inhale: A smoke that is opaque from both the outside and inside of it. Anyone inside will have extreme near-sightedness (only about a foot), forcing them to rely on sound. [30 Second Cooldown] (2 Charges)
Line Up: A thick, visible strip on the ground that lasts for 30 seconds and slows and dazes anyone who tramples on it. The effects decay once stepped off. The longer a player has stood on the strip, the longer the decay will take. (2 Charges)
The Good Stuff: Adam can give himself or an ally a three second buff where they are immune to all flashes, dazes and near-sightedness. (1 Charge)
(Ultimate) Have a Dose: Adam preps for five seconds before dazing all enemy players within a large radius of him.
That’s the general overview of Adam, let me know what you think of him!

fuck it. soma cruz fgo servant profile bc i make my own content
Servant: / Servant Class: Soma Cruz / Alter Ego
Origin: / Region: Castlevania Series / Japan, 2035
Alignment: Lawful Neutral(?) “Yeah, not sure how I classify as Lawful given my past life, but whatever.”
Aliases: The Dark Lord, Dracula, Soma Cruz
Parameters: STR (B) / END (A+) / AGL (B+) / MP (EX) / LUK (A) / NP (???)
Class Skills: Authority of Beasts (Fake), Core of Chaos (A), One Who Severs Fate (A)
Character Info: “In order for God to be perfectly Good, there must always exist an embodiment of Chaos, a Dark Lord to emerge from the evil of humanity’s hearts.”
For one thousand years, the Belmont bloodline had opposed the terrible night that Count Dracula would bring with his powers. After generations of suffering, the Belmont’s latest mantle bearer, Julius Belmont, along with their generational allies, the Belnades clan and a nameless soldier, had managed to permanently defeat Dracula with the help of the Hakuba Clan’s shrine magics. Severing his connection to his power and sealing Castlevania, the embodiment of his power, within a solar eclipse, Dracula had finally faced his demise in 1999, prophesied by Nostradamus one millennium ago. Thus, the strongest Dark Lord had fallen, his throne empty and awaiting a new master.
In 2035, Soma Cruz had visited the Hakuba Shrine to meet with his childhood friend Mina, unaware of the birthright he would claim.
Skills:
Chaos Ring A: An extremely powerful construct that channels the very essence of Chaos. It can only be found by the one who can traverse and control the Chaos Realm, the Dark Lords personal right. Wearing it grants the unlimited magical power of the Chaos Realm, but actual output depends on the user. If the Demon King’s Ring is the symbol of Dracula and his reign, then the Chaos Ring could be considered the symbol of Soma and his new beginning.
Thematic narratives aside, it’s a very convenient tool for Soma.
“It’s weird, but it feels like…it was made for me. Almost like a welcome gift.”
[5->3 Turns] [Charge NP (20%->30%), Increase NP Gain (10%->25%) (3 Turns), Gain a Delayed buff 1 turn after skill use (Unremovable): [Charge NP (20->30%)]
Armament Master D: Soma is extremely proficient at using any and all forms of weaponry. Due to Dracula’s vast reach, Soma has a vast number of different modern and mythical weapons and gear at his disposal, notable weapons including Excalibur (sealed in the stone), Hrunting, Caladbolg, Mjolnir, and even a Positron Rifle, to name a few. However, one weapon unique to Soma is the Claimh Solais, an Irish sword of light mentioned in many legends and defining the archetype of “Sword of Light.” It provides a great boost to parameters and is surprisingly light weight despite its size. Another unique weapon he wields is the Valmanway, the “Blessed Wind” that is always ‘cutting’ even when still.
(The rank is D because despite his proficiency, Soma has never had any formal training.)
“I mean, it’s just a sword, right? How complex is it? You can just swing it and things die. Though…considering I have ol’ Drac’s memories…sorta, maybe I’m just remembering it?”
[8->6 Turns] [Increase Atk (10%->20%) (3 Turns), Gain Critical Stars (5->15), Increase Critical Star Absorption (3000%) (3 Turns), Increase Critical Damage (10%->20%) (3 Turns), Apply Special Attack against Sky, Star and Beast attribute enemies (20%->40%) (3 Turns)]
Power of Dominance (EX): Soma’s inheritance from Dracula, or more fittingly, the Chaos Entity opposite to God. The Power of Dominance is a unique ability that grants a complete mastery over the abilities of any and all souls Soma can acquire from the enemies he defeats. All the monsters that Dracula unleashed in his crusade against humanity are the countless souls under his domain, even that of Death itself, and their powers rightly belong to him.
Soma can differentiate between the types of Soul Arts he uses, and this reflects accordingly in his Noble Phantasm.
“I never wanted this power, but I guess I’m stuck with it. I’ll always carry the target on my back, but at least I can look awesome as hell while doing it, I suppose.”
[5->3 Turns] [Decrease Enemy Charge by 1 (20%->50%), Select own NP Command Card’s type between Quick, Arts or Buster for 3 Turns. Effect of NP changes depending on which Command Card Type is selected. This skill is immune to debuff effects (such as Skill Seal)]
Noble Phantasm:
Advent of Sorrow – He Who Severed His Fate Against Chaos and God / Anti-Divine, Anti-Self / Rank (???)
A manifestation of Soma’s power truly made his own, separate from the title of Dark Lord and Dracula. Having defeated the Chaos Entity, he managed to sever its connection to his soul, and be saved from his Fate. Even so, he carries the Power of Dominance with him always, and the countless souls and followers of Chaos always wait and offer themselves unto Soma to lead and command them. In his own imperfect way, neither holy nor demonic.
After all, he’s only human.
(Note: If used by the true Count Dracula, this would be considered an Anti-Humanity NP)
[Type: Buster] – [Deals massive damage to a single enemy (1200%->2400%), Chance to Decrease Charge by 1 (80%->100%). Overcharge: Increases own Buster Card Effectiveness (20%) (1 Turn) and NP Damage (1 Turn) (20%) (Activates First)]
[Type: Arts] – [Deals heavy damage to all enemies (400%->800%), Chance to decrease Atk (15%->25%) and Critical Chance (20%->30%). Overcharge: Inflict Curse (5 Turns).]
[Type: Quick] – [Apply Debuff Immune (1 Time), and Restore HP each turn for self (3 Turns) (1000->1500), and Increase NP Gauge each turn for self (3 Turns) (5%). Overcharge: Apply Def Up for all allies (3 Turns) (25%->50%).]
Bond Lines:
Bond 1: “Heh, thanks for having me! I’m still not too sure about how all this stuff works here, but if you need a monster taken down, I’m your guy.”
Bond 2: “So the rest of those dudes call you ‘Master’? Kind of awkward, but I guess they’re magical familiars at the end of the day. What? So am I? Sorry but, vampiric powers aside, I’m just a normal guy. I was even in University before I got dragged here. I’ll just call you [name] for now.”
Bond 3: “Do you like curry? Arikado said I shouldn’t be using these monster souls for dumb stuff, but they don’t mind. They always talk to me and really want to help me out wherever I am. Except Death, that guy sucks. He’s always breaking into my home and trying to convince me to become the next Dark Lord and to ‘accept my throne’ and stuff.”
Bond 4: “…It scares me, sometimes. Knowing not only what I am, but what I’m very capable of.”
Bond 5: “Y’know…you could always come back with me to my world, if you want to escape. I’ll take you to meet Mina, and Hammer and Yoko and Julius and Arikado and…Hm. Sorry. I know you can’t abandon this world, it’s where you grew up. There’s…a lot of people here who love you. You should always remember that and hold it close. It saved my life when I thought I couldn’t go on, and I know it will also save yours.”
Voice Lines:
(1): “I’m glad this place is a lot simpler than the castle. That place had so many hidden rooms and puzzles that I felt like I was going insane…No, as a matter of fact, DON’T tell me about all the secret workshops here.”
(2): “Hm? What’s up? I’m just relaxing here. Sorry if I’m taking up space. It’s nice to just take a moment.”
(3): “No, no, don’t worry. Even if I could, I’m not the type of guy to just go around stealing souls. I only do that to monsters, and even then, they become complacent once they return to me. I could show you some of the fun ones, like the Skeleton Gardener, if you’d like.”
Likes: “What I like? Curry! Oh, and Mina. She’s been with me for my whole life. I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
Dislikes: “This is gonna sound cliché, but garlic. It just tastes bad.”
Event: “Whoa, a party! Let’s go, I’m super bored cooped up in here.”
About The Holy Grail: “Wish granting? No thanks, I’ve read a ton of comics and things always go wrong. What? Of course, it’s a valuable source!”
Summon Quote: “Yo! My name is Soma Cruz. I’m just a regular high school student. Um…Where am I, exactly?”
Happy Birthday: “Happy Birthday, [name]! I’m so gonna throw you the coolest party ever! I’ll even invite Mina…If, uh, if that’s cool with you?”
(King Hassan): “D-Death!? Why are you…Oh. Uh, sorry about that. You reminded me of...someone. I’m sure you’re a cool guy underneath all that armor.”
(Vlad/Vlad III (EXTRA)): “Huh. So, in this world, the legend of Dracula is just that? A legend? Well, that’s a huge relief. I’m not exactly the kingly type.”
(Gilgamesh/Gilgamesh (Caster)): “Hey [name], could you give me a hand? This gold idiot keeps saying I stole his weapons, but they’re mine! …Hey! Stay back with those portal things! Someone, help!!!”
(Scathach): “Jeez, I bet Arikado will get along with that slave driver. Seriously, Arikado’s method of teaching me my powers amounted to locking me in a room with monsters and a pocketknife. Huh? She’s stomping over here!? [name], help me!”
(Marie Antionette): “I don’t know why, but…Looking at you makes me sad. I’m sorry.”
(Sessyoin Kiara): “Master, this lady is coming onto me WAY too hard. She keeps telling me to ‘embrace what I am’ and junk. I already get enough of that crap from cultists back home.”
(Sakata Kintoki/Astolfo/Romulus/Romulus-Quirinus/Ashwatthama): “Hey, you’re a pretty cool dude, huh? Finally, someone with some style!”
(Amakusa Shirou): “Ugh, you remind me of Fortner. And stop using rosaries around me, I’m not Satan, you jerk!”
(Mephistopheles): “Please, leave me alone. I’m not evil, nor will I ever be the Dark Lord. Just because I have those powers doesn’t mean I’m defined by them. Also, the alarm clock you gave me exploded, so I don’t think you’re all that trustworthy anyways.”
(Beni Enma): “Aww, you’re so cute...Wait, from the Underworld? A yokai? Guess you’re one of mine, then. If you want, I can loan you some Skeleton Waiters for your chain.”
(Any Avenger-Class Servant): “Hey, you guys are kinda like me! Everyone says you’re evil, but you’re actually really nice!”
(Arcueid Brunestud): “Master, that girl is shooting me some pretty weird looks....Huh? Reincarnating vampire? Oh, I guess I’d look pretty weird in that case. That’s not her fault, though. Maybe I’ll go say hi.”
QQABB Deck:
Buster Card: 2 Hit / -Soma raises Excalibur (still in the stone) and smashes it into the enemy-
Quick Card: 5 Hit / -Soma holds Valmanway in front of him, turns around, and multiple slashes envelop the enemy-
Art Card: 3 Hit / -Soma does two horizontal strikes, then a third overhead strike with Claimh Solais-

Ascension 1: “Whoo! Good job, [name].”
Ascension 2: “This…This is just like then…[name], maybe don’t do this anymore.”
Ascension 3: “Please…stop. I don’t know if I can pull myself back this time…”
Ascension 4: “I see. Well…as long as you’re by my side, I’ll never succumb. So please…don’t die.”

Krenko’s Guide to Pokemon: Igglybuff Line
Oh my god, this is like one of the best pokemon ever! With its multiple jumps, it’s vicious Rest attack, and the legendary Wall of Pain, Jigglypuff can control the air and edge guard with the best of them.
Wait...
Oh, we’re talking about the Pokemon games?
Nevermind. This thing is hot garbage.
DESIGN: I said it twice before, but Igglybuff is just an attempt to make something extra double cute out of something already cute, and it just looks dumb. Jigglypuff was already just a ball with a face and little bump limbs, and Igglybuff just has these huge creepy red eyes and a swirl that’s probably supposed to represent hair but looks all wrong. It’s not cute, it’s not interesting, and Jigglypuff was already so weak that it’s not adding anything to gameplay by existing. Also, Igglybuff is neither iggly nor buff.
Jigglypuff I like. It’s basically Kirby. It’s simple with just a few noteworthy features, but those soft blue eyes are cute, and the ears and the hair-tuft look right. A big part of why I like it is probably because of its use in the anime and in the Smash Brothers games, but it’s inflatable, rubbery body does give it a unique appearance in animation.
Wigglytuff is a reasonable evolution for Jigglypuff- bigger, stronger, with larger ears and an actual torso even though it has no neck. Unfortunately, it loses some of the ‘balloony’ quality, and looks more like a cute easter rabbit thing, so from a design perspective I’m less impressed with it than Jigglypuff. EVOLUTIONS: As I said with Pichu and Cleffa, I don’t like when Friendship is required for a non-final evolution. Are all the wild Igglybuff just really well tended to by their parents in that hidden place we never see? Is that why we only see Jigglypuffs even at very low levels? Also, this is a three stage evolution where the SECOND stage is weaker than starter pokemon. I’m not saying three stage evolutions need to be better overall- I’m fine with Pidgey’s line- but we’re looking at stats comprable to the Caterpie line. I guess the assumption was that you’d get your Jigglypuff and immediately evolve it in Mount Moon, but then why add a baby form instead of giving it a new final evolution? TYPING: Normal/Fairy is... fine... but unimpressive. Immunity to both Dragon and Ghost is cool, resistance to Bug and Dark for weakness to Poison and Steel is fine, but Normal’s a useless type offensively, bad against Rock, Steel, and Ghost and good against nothing. And fairy’s only resisted by Fire, Poison, and Steel anyway, so the only reason to use a Normal attack is against a Poison or Fire type. Normal as the sole type on a pokemon is solid because it means they’re only weak to Fighting. Normal combined with another type tends not to do much unless that other type was weak to Ghost.
STATS: Wigglytuff has 140 HP and that’s it. You’d think that’d make it bulky, but it’s countered by a mere 45 defense and 50 special defense. 45 speed is horrendous, and its better attack stat, Special Attack, is still only an average 85. Wigglytuff’s stats bring nothing to the table. A third form pokemon with a 435 stat total is depressing. Just a reminder that Clefable’s is 483, and is better in basically every way.
ABILITIES:
Wigglytuff has not one, not two, but THREE awful abilities!
Cute Charm we’ve previously discussed- it requires an attack that makes contact to hit you, there’s a more than 50% chance your opponent’s immune, and then a 30% chance it afflicts them if they hit you, and then a 50% chance to stop an attack after it’s working. We’re talking a less than 5% chance this triggers in a given fight... and that’s assuming Wigglytuff survives the hit.
Frisk tells you what held item your opponent has. Knowing this almost never affects your strategy anyway.
And then there’s Competetive! Competetive raises Wigglytuff’s special attack by TWO STAGES if an enemy lowers Wigglytuff’s stats. So, yes, you can get Wigglytuff to good special attack if you’re able to read a stat-lowering move coming, and it’s not unreasonable to ‘catch’ Intimidate with this... but we’re still talking a long shot that you simply an’t garuntee, and you can’t otherwise build Wigglytuff as a sweeper because it doesn’t get any of the good self-buffs anyway. The worst part of this is that Jigglypuff’s hidden ability, Friend Guard, is actually pretty interesting. Friend guard reduces all damage targeted at your other Pokemon in a 2v2 by 25%. If Wigglytuff kept that it’d have an interesting use in double battles. But no, Wigglytuff trades that away for Frisk. MOVES: Wigglytuff has significantly higher Special attack than Physical attack... and yet learns more physical attacks than special attacks. It gets a reasonable lineup of special attacks - Hyper Voice, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Flamethrower, and Thunderbolt, but... that’s really all it’s doing. And if you can’t catch something on Competetive, the damage is entirely mediocre.
It’s famous for singing people to sleep, but all its abilities to inflict status effects are bad and unreliable. Its only self-buff that gets more than one stage is Work Up, which is Attack and Special attack... and thus effectively one stage.
It gets Stealth Rock, though, which is always nice, but... lots of things get Stealth Rock.
OVERALL: Wigglytuff is a garbage pokemon, and I blame Igglybuff for it not having gotten a bonus evolution by now. Competitive is a potentially powerful ability that’s entirely unreliable, and its other two abilities are just useless.
If Wigglytuff’s ever going to be non-awful, it either needs a stat boost (even more HP, or higher special) or just an ability worth a damn. The thing is, I do like the concept of Cute Charm, it’s just so very, very weak.
Wigglytuff, as is, is garbage. A Mega could theoretically save it, but does anyone actually want Mega Wigglytuff? Maybe if they actually do make a Sound type one day, Wigglytuff will change to Sound/Fairy and have better resistances, or at least better STAB coverage.

Smaragdine Golem
Smaragdine is such a bizarre sounding word, and most people would be entirely justified in thinking it’s some completely made up word. What is a smaragdine golem made out of? The actual answer is emerald. Smaragdine is a real English adjective relating something to emeralds, by material or color, so Tome of Beasts used it as the name for an emerald construct. Or at least one that’s the color of emerald, they’re mostly green glass.
In terms of purpose to say why you would use a smaragdine golem over any others (besides looking for a specific level), they’re even more dedicated to anti-magic. Fifth edition got rid of the 3.5 and earlier idea of golems being outright immune to magic and replaced it with resistance, making them a bit less of a puzzle creature than they were before, and the smaragdine doesn’t break from that, but they have an extra bit of power when set against spellcasters. They get a bonus action ability to target any ongoing magical effect near it and attempt to cancel the spell. It functions pretty much like dispel magic, except if the golem succeeds it also absorbs the magic and can release it as an action to deal damage in an explosion centered on itself. Unlike a lot of other features in 5e the effect changes based on the level of the spell absorbed, not only getting more powerful but also increasing in size with higher level spells. For a lot of lower level spells, the damage output isn’t optimal to take up an action, but getting a bonus action to attempt to rip away some of those high level buff or debuff spells the party has cast can be exceptionally useful. Ending a hold monster spell, or blade barrier, haste, or even something like foresight at the end of high level campaigns can change the course of a battle in a significant way. Absorbing a haste spell might only deal an average of 21 damage per target in a 30 foot radius, but getting that spell off of a barbarian can be a massive benefit.
While I still think that golem is a massively misused term by now in D&D and fantasy gaming in general, and the constant book filler of “it’s a construct made of [x]” is dull, at least this one has a unique and interesting feature to make encountering one a memorable situation. Just find a better name.
The Kerith Empire has very strict rules against unregistered spellcasters. Any reports of illegal spellcasters are investigated by the emperor’s anti-mage corps, well trained and conditioned counter-mages, and in the worst cases a smaragdine golem that strips away the criminal’s magical defenses to leave them vulnerable.
Protecting important leaders from magical influence is a constant process. One powerful merchant council has developed a new strategy of using a smaragdine golem as a centerpiece to their meetings. The golem is controlled by an independent committee and constantly patrols the room, using its ability to absorb magic on each council member in turn constantly through any discussion in order to ensure that no spells have been used on any of the members. The sight of the golem beginning to glow indicates something has gone wrong, and results quickly in a lockdown and further sweeps for magic.
An exceptionally famous and prolific tomb robber owes a big portion of her success to the smaragdine golem she purchased several years back. Many of the tombs and crypts she explores have all kinds of magical traps in place that she directs the golem to strip away, rendering ancient glyphs of warding and symbol spells inert and useless and redirecting the absorbed power into the more active defenders.

Smite Set Build + Tips
Set is ability based, not aa based. I get it, his passive and ult make you think he should be aa, but skewer + spawns do SO much damage, and you get your ult ticks from your 3 constantly.
His 3 gives him physical damage mitigation, so go ahead and try the tower dive if you're feeling yourself, just make sure you can get out. It also gives you slow immunity, so go fuck that He Bo UP bb. (Seriously its a bloated ability this thing does everything)
Level order is 4, 1, 2, 3. Not 4, 1, 3, 2. This isn't even because of the damage increase recently added to the 2, its because it increases the duration of the spawns meaning you'll be more likely to be able to throw a single boy twice with skewer.
Keep mana usage light until blackthorn hammer/hydras lament is online, then you're an artillery assassin (as stupid as that sounds). Focus more on hitting the skewer itself than hitting the bois, as skewer will apply item effects like brawlers.
Use youre 2 to stop people from backing by just placing a boy on top of em or launching a boy at them with skewer.
When your 3 gets bugged (you tried to use it right as you got hard CC'd and now the icon is flashing but not going) you gotta reset it by teleporting to a boy.
Set with ult up wins damn near every 1v1. You can outheal & out-damage an ulting anubis as long as you can get on top of him.
Duel Builds
Fighting physical
Attackers blessing and cudgel start
Cudgel into Blackthorn (you can go boots first if you have a need for speed)
Ninja Tabi
Breastplate of Valor OR Brawlers Beat Stick if they have healing
Whichever one of ^ those you didn't get
Hydras Lament (place a spawn, smack, spawn, smack, skewer, smack, rinse & repeat)
Heartseeker or more defense if you're losing, new berserkers shield fits pretty well here, or midguardian if they are aa based.
What you sell boots for is dependant on too many things for me to give you something exact, but I often put a toxic blade right there.
Relics are probably bracer & shell, anything can work but if you can afford to avoid aegis I'd reccomend it, you want to be able to fight while you pop relics. Set is uniquely able to avoid needing a sprint if they get a horrific due to slow immunity from his 3.
Fighting Magical
Almost exactly the same just swap blackthorn for Runic Shield, breastplate of Valor for genjis, and get the hydras earlier if you can, you'll need the mp5.
Conquest builds
Don't play Set in conquest, brute minions have better buff clear than him.

The Flintlock Gang
“Battles are won with powers. Wars are won with tactics.”
The flintlock gang is a small criminal group in the universe of My Hero Academia. While they don’t have many members, their reach is surprisingly strong. They don’t want money or power. They just want to be able to do what they want, and so they have put themselves into places where they can best manage that.
There are five lead members of the gang, one leader and four lieutenants, with some extra helping hands here and there underneath, usually working in the same places where the lieutenants are. All of the underlings are either quirkless or have mediocre quirks at best that the gang helps to figure out optimal uses for them.
“You poor fool, life has treated you horribly. What say we make a deal, hmm?”
The leader is codenamed Mammon, after the demon of temptations. His real name is Yūji Yūkō-tekin, and his day job is that of a social worker. He goes from location to location, helping out the poor and the homeless, which he uses as a cover for recruitment and the ensnarement of victims with his quirk. He is a mostly unassuming figure, average height, black hair that is slightly graying at the sides, fit but not muscular, thin wire rimmed square spectacles. His smile is warm and gentle, and most of the time he seems to genuinely want to help people. He tends to wear semi-formal attire, good enough to not look like a menial worker but casual enough to seem approachable and modest. His only jewelry is a small silver chain with a singular musket ball hanging from it. When posing as Mammon, he wears an all black suit with a white tie, and a smooth, featureless red mask. In both outfits he wears black gloves.
“I’ll give it to ya straight. Lookin at me’s a bad idea. Then again, not lookin at me’s even worse. Yer choice, FOOL!”
The most infamous among the ranks of the Flintlock gang is codenamed Center Stage. His real name is Haiyu, family name unknown since he wants no connection with them. He is never seen out of costume, since his quirk makes him stand out in a crowd. Without his quirk in action, Haiyu stands at an impressive seven foot two, and is laden with muscles. He wears kabuki Kumadori makeup, with a strange fusion of Akattsura and Kugeare patterns. His body is painted in a similar way to his face as well, and he wears an extravagant wig and costume in keeping with the rest of his kabuki theme. When he is with members of the gang, he is often relaxed and friendly, albeit a bit on the boisterous side. But when he is out in public on a job, he is abrasive and rude, often with exaggerated movements and pronunciations in order to attract as much attention to himself as possible. He wears two bracelets made with beads made from musket balls as his signifier of the gang.
“May the path of the shot be the path you take to the afterlife, and may you find the rest in death you did not find in life. Amen.”
The person codenamed as Interro is a highly dangerous assassin in the gang. Real name Jinmo Sukuto, he works as an investigative reporter/interviewer for a news network. The only distinguishing feature about his quirk is that his orange colored eyes have weird question mark shaped pupils in the center. Aside from that, he’s pretty unassuming in appearance. As with all news personalities, he has a very polished and clean appearance, with light brown slicked back hair and clean white teeth. He is of average height and build, and moves moderately slow, bordering on lackadaisical. When he is on a mission, he usually wears a cloak that obscures everything about him, and carries a modified flintlock rifle, enhanced to actually be effective in the modern day. His distinguishing jewelry is a set of cuff links, made using halves of musket balls.
“A bullet can cut down a person. A bomb can destroy a city. But a whisper can topple a nation.”
Sasayaku Sakabu, codenamed Mouthpiece, is a quirkless, contributing member of society. He works in the same News Network as Jinmo as both the news anchor, and he also works in the censorship department. This puts him in the unique position of controlling what people will end up seeing and hearing through his particular channel, and he uses it to his full advantage. He makes sure to do it subtly enough that he wouldn’t get investigated, but he is clever and meticulous about everything. He is an older man, with silvery hair and a moderately long but well trimmed beard. He has a scar over his right eye, which is actually fake, having lost it in his youth. Inside the glass eye is the musket ball. Sasayaku is a kindly and gentle old man, and often considered the grandfather of the gang, as many of the members don’t have family and Sasayaku treats them as he would his own grandchildren.
“What say we start this party off with a bang, no?”
The final lieutenant of the gang is codenamed Depth Charge. His real name is Torien Bumu, and he is the harbor master of one of the docks for the city. He helps run smugglers in and out of the country through his docks, with all of his staff being members of the gang. He is a rather buff and tanned man who is always chewing on a match. He worked as a sailor for a long time before joining the gang and rising through the ranks, reaching where he was today through shrewd deals and occasional underhanded tactics. His hair is light blond and in a crew cut, and he often smells like smoke. His distinguishing jewelry is a pair of earrings, each made from half a musket ball.
“You think your power is weak? Here, we can help you reach your full potential. No one is truly powerless...”
Yuji’s quirk is called “Faust”. When he reaches a business agreement with someone, he shakes their hand, and then they both are bound to the details of the agreement. The hands that they shook become a vibrant red color and remain that way until they fulfill their half of the agreement. Neither side is able to go against their deal at any point in the process. The quirk is an emitter type, and reads the exact wording of the deal as it is finalized, so picking your words carefully is very important when doing anything with him. People know of “mammon”’s existence, so being seen with a bright red hand lets people know that you made a deal with the criminal.
Haiyu’s quirk is called “Spotlight”, a frighteningly powerful mutation quirk in the modern day. If someone is looking at him, he gets a boost to his strength and speed, and a minor increase in size. The more people are looking at him, the bigger and stronger and faster he gets. This makes him an incredibly powerful distraction force as his presence demands attention, but that self same attention makes him harder to stop. Live video footage also counts as people “looking at him”, but recorded video footage does not. With how much of a spectacle modern hero society has become, it’s no wonder that he is consistently on the list of “most wanted villains”.
Jinmo’s quirk is called “Asksight”. It’s a very simple and moderately weak quirk, whose efficacy has been leveraged by the position Jinmo is in. If he asks someone a question, he can tell where they are up until the point they answer him. They appear as a glowing spot in his sight that doesn’t go away until they answer his question. Being a reporter helps leverage this as often times the hero’s assistant will answer the question and not the hero themself, allowing Jinmo to constantly track their location. It is also very useful in exposing rival gang hideouts to be shut down in various ways.
Sasayaku is quirkless, as previously stated, as are most of his coworkers that are part of the gang. This doesn’t mean they don’t have power, and some would argue that they have the most power in the gang, but they play a support role to all of the rest of the crew.
Torien’s quirk is “Black Powder”, an emitter-type quirk. He can create and breathe out a special kind of waterproof black powder from his mouth, that, like conventional black powder, explodes in contact with a spark or fire. The more he creates, the drier his mouth and throat becomes, resulting in him needing to stay constantly hydrated if he doesn’t want to damage his mouth or throat. This comes with a minor resistance to his own explosions but he isn’t fully immune to them.
And there you have it, my first official creation for this page. Honestly I don’t expect to get many followers on this page, as I am mostly using this account as a place I can dump and talk about characters I create for fandoms. That being said, feel free to ask them questions or ask me questions about anything, I’m always up to over share about my characters.
