Albedo
The icy wind whipped against your cheeks. Snow clouded your vision. The tree branches waved in the wind and grasped at your clothes. You hissed as a thorn ripped your fabric, causing you to bleed.
As you ran down the mountain you glanced over your shoulder at every given moment.
A clearing caught your eye. Finally you could breathe out. You leans against a large tree. You needed to cover your wound. You rummaged through your pockets and to your joy you found a small scarf. The thin woven scarf was gifted to you by Klee, Albedo’s younger sister. The little girl was so proud when she gave you the scarf and wanted you to wear it all the time. Sadness filled your being at the thought of ruining the pink scarf, but your arm was more important. You bound your wound tightly with the scarf. One of the things he had thought you.
“I told you to stay inside the cabin” his voice echoed.
You froze. You prayed to the archons that it was just your mind playing tricks on you.
“This mountain is dangerous. You have no way of defending yourself” his voice soft.
You turned your head. Your eyes met his ice blue ones. They were cold, just like the icy mountain.
“Let’s go home” he walked towards you with quick steps. His arms wrapped around you and he kissed your forehead. “You are better off home, with me. I will keep you safe” his arms tightened around your form.
Alhaitham
The scribe had given you freedom. Which allowed you to freely roam the Akademiya. While Alhaitham was preoccupied in his office, you explored the university. Within a couple of months you had made friends with a couple of the students. You never told them you situation with the grey haired scholar, but they all knew that you lived together.
You had spent a lot of time plotting your escape. After all escaping the scribe was no easy task. The House of Daena was empty and quiet. The small bag you had hoisted over your shoulder filled with only the necessities. Your hands was shaking as you pushed down the door handle to a back door. The sunlight blinded you as the door opened.
You hurried down the path from the Akademiya. Your flats clicking against the cobblestone. You had to get out from Sumeru City and seek refuge in a remote town. It was risk, sure, but it was your only hope.
After an hour or so you had made your way to a small village on the outskirts of the capital. It wasn’t the ideal place, but it was your only option for the night. You was so kindly offered the spare bed by a lovely elderly woman. She didn’t ask why you looked over your shoulder every minute and that you were thankful for.
You packed your things and thanked the older woman for her kindness and went on your way.
After hours on the road your legs felt like jelly. You stopped by a abandoned house and rested on the little bench by the overgrown vegetable garden.
You woke up by the sounds of footsteps coming your way. A shadow blocked the sun.
“I must say you have slightly developed, but unfortunately you are still as predictable as ever” Alhaitham shook his head. “The elderly woman you slept at told me everything as soon as I explained the situation” his lips widened into a grin. “She thanked my for looking after such a helpless woman such as yourself.”
Strong arms picked you up and held you tight against his strong chest. “Let’s go home”.
Ayato
Ayato was a sly man. With his white clothing he looked like an angel, but that was far from the truth. You had many times heard him command the Shuumatsuban to get rid of the clan’s enemies. You knew the katana that rested by his hip when he was out on public duties, had slaughtered many.
You were afraid. Not only by him in himself, but afraid of his power and actions. That’s why you climbed over the tall walls that shielded the Kamisato residence from the outside world. Your ankles buckled under you as you landed and you whimpered out in pain. After you had collected yourself, you made a run for it. The ninja’s that were stationed around the estate had without doubt already spotted you. You hoped that they went to report to Ayato instead of chasing you down.
The way down to the beach was rocky and dangerous. Like a wild goat you quickly made your way down thanks to the adrenaline that pumped through your veins. The old rowboat was in the same stop just as you had recalled from an evening stroll with Ayaka along the beach. To your luck the two paddles were still there. You pushed the boat with all your might to the shore. The saltwater cold against your bare feet.
The swish of an arrow stopped you in your tracks. You looked down and saw it sticking out from the side of the boat. The hole was not that big, but it would cause your boat to leak in enough water for it to sink before you had made it to safety.
“Seize her!” a Shuumatsuban with high standing ordered.
A man with his face covered dragged you away from your boat and bound your wrists behind your back.
When you looked up at the cliff you saw Ayato looking down at you. He made his way down slowly and dread filled your veins.
He stopped in front of you and lifted your chin with a finger. “Did you have fun?” he leaned his face closer, his breath fanning your face. “Do not forget that I have eyes and ears everywhere”.
“Now let’s get you home. I will make sure you won’t slip through my fingers again. Though I must say your little attempt humoured me”
Baizhu
Tricking the little zombie girl made you feel horrible, but it was your only ticket to freedom. The green haired doctor had feed you herbs that made you weak and depended on his care. You had seen the label on the little bottle containing the medicine. So when he was out researching some herbs, you went through all the medical books he had in his libraries in search of the antidote. After much time and countless books you finally figured out the antidote.
You talked to Qiqi alone when Baizhu was busy treating a patient. You explained that he needed some herbs and told her that she had to deliver them to you and not her guardian. After some convincing she agreed. You crossed your fingers that she would remember and not slip up.
To your joy Qiqi had indeed remembered. The herbs tasted awful, but it was a small price to pay. It didn’t take long before you felt the medicine Baizhu had given you wear of. When he came to check up on you, you pretended that you were still weak. You asked him to go get some more medicine and he did as you said. When the green haired man left, you quickly tried to pry the window open. It was slightly jammed, but with your new strength you managed. Finally you had escaped the snake’s nest.
Your feet moved fast as you ran down the many stairs. You had to turn Baizhu to the authorities for his crimes. Just as you had made it down the stairs you bumped into someone. You didn’t need to look up to understand who it was.
“You will catch a cold running around like that” his voice cold as ice. His fingers lifted up your chin. “Tricking Qiqi really was a low move. That poor child was absolutely devastated to come home to an empty house. As for me I must say I am deeply disappointed. I have made it very clear that you will not manage without me.”
His lips curled up into a soft smile. “Let’s go home my darling. I will make some tea.”
Capitano
The first Harbinger was worshipped throughout the whole snowy nation. His underlings held great respect for him. He could be cruel and bloodthirsty, but to you he had a soft spot for.
Boots hammered against the ice ground. You knew you wouldn’t be able to run away from them, but you would not give up so easily.
As you made your way through the thick pine forest you started to regret your decision, but it was too late. As you came to the end of the forest you were surrounded by soldiers. Their spears raised towards you, stopping you in your tracks.
The sound of hooves reached your ears. The soldiers parted and bowed deep. On a tall black horse sat Capitano. Even with his face hidden by his black helmet, you could feel his intense gaze.
The stallion came to a halt and his rider dismounted. The snow crunched underneath his heels as he made his way towards you. His height towering over your trembling form. “You are all dismissed” he barked out. The soldiers bowed before they marched down the hill.
He stayed quiet for what felt like an eternity. The ice cold wind howling against the tree tops. The dark haired man finally spoke “You broke my trust. Criminals deserve to be punished.”
With a swift motion he threw you over his shoulder and held you in place with his arm. He mounted his horse and squeezed his heels against the animal’s flank.
The Harbinger’s hold on you was tight and as suffocating as his presence. As you watched the landscape blur together you realised that you would never escape him.
Childe
The sound of children’s laughter could be heard in the distance. The small fishing village Ajax’s family resides in was remote. The river that ran across it ice cold and filled to the brim with fish. You crept as quickly as you could between the trees that surround the village. To your dismay Childe’s childhood home was just by the border which meant that the red head knew the woods like the back of his hand.
You winced as you heard Teucer calling out for his brother. The little child had noticed your disappearance.
You picked up your speed and ran as fast as your legs could carry you. It was difficult with the heavy snow, but you had to keep going.
A flash of red stopped you in your tracks. You quickly hid behind a rock and held your breath.
“It’s not nice to run away” a chirpy voice said. Childe.
Of course he found you. It was only a matter of time. His soft laughter rang throughout the woods. He was close. Too close.
Suddenly he jumped onto the rock you had hidden behind. You yelped and backed away. He grinned as he looked down on you. His eyes wide and crazed. “If you wanted to play hide and seek why didn’t you just say so?” he laughed. His laughter chilling.
He jumped down and landed just a few centimetres from your legs. He bent down and dragged you to your feet. “Teucer, Tonia and Anthon are all waiting for you back home. You wouldn’t want to disappoint them would you?” he tilted his head and faked a sad expression.
He wrapped his arms around you and hugged you tightly. “When we get home after our visit here, I will never let you leave my side. Is that understood?” his voice low. He chuckled as he pulled back to study your expression. “That frightened look of yours is really something. Makes me wanna eat you up” he kissed your cheek. “Don’t make me lose my cool, okay?”
Cyno
The sun was bright and high. The heat was unbearable and you regretted not seeking shade. The sand danced across the dune as the wind gave you some mercy from the heat.
In front off you on the scorching sand laid the lifeless bodies of the eremites that had helped you with your escape from the general. Blood coloured the sand red and the ruins surrounding you were splattered in red. The metallic sand made you dizzy.
Cyno stood before the bodies with his back turned to you. His white hair was coated in red. His strong muscles made him look like a god as he stood there with his bloodied spear. He turned to you. His face blank.
“I am sorry you had to see that” his expression apologetic.
He planted the spear in the ground and walked towards you slowly like he was afraid of scaring you. He squatted down so that he was on your eye level. You pulled your legs towards you as much as you could.
“Why did you run away?”
You only stared at him with big eyes. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. His head piece long discarded. “The desert is a dangerous place. You have no idea how scared I was when I noticed your disappearance” his eyes sad. “When I saw you among those eremites… I have never felt such anger. I had no choice but to eliminate them. Those who try to take you away from me deserves punishment. I did the right thing with ridding the world of such people” his hands was trembling in anger.
“I will make sure no one tries to take you away from me again. I will always be by your side” he kissed your tears away with a soft smile.
Dainsleif
Dainsleif had long lost his sanity. At least when it came to you. That much was clear.
You had just managed to escape him while he slept. The ruin you had chosen for your resting place for the night was eerie quite. Even the monsters were gone. You would have found it weird had you not been on the run. You manoeuvred through the dark ruins as fast as you could. After a while you made it out.
Your relived expression fell as you took in your surroundings. The monsters you had disappeared were now standing in front of you. You slowly backed away as you thought up an escaped plan. Just as you were about to make a run for it, dark blue power lit up the area in front of you. With movements faster then what your eyes could see, the monsters were slain.
The blond traveler looked at you with a look that sent shivers down your spine. He flicked off the blood that coated his blade as he made his way towards you.
“I expected more from you. To believe you so ignorantly took the bait is truly disappointing” he shook his head. “But on the plus side, I have now proved to you that you will never make it without me. Let me be your protector. Let me take care of you” he kneeled in front of you as he took your small hand in his and kissed it gently.
You could only cry silent as the Twilight Sword led you inside the ruins. Dainsleif was a man of his word and you knew very well that he would never break his promise to himself.
Diluc
The winery was a beautiful place. When you first arrived you thought it looked like something straight out from a fairytale. You could not be more wrong as you soon learned.
Diluc was a desperate man. He had tricked himself into believing he was your saviour and he would do anything in order to protect you. If he had to kill someone in order to do so he would not bat an eye.
You had escaped through the cellar door and out the cellar window. You had been unsure if you fitted through the window, but to your surprise you fitted like a glove. The moon casted a pale light against the manor and it made you pause in your steps by its beauty.
The stables were empty just as you had expected. You tacked up the chestnut mare Diluc had gifted you. You kissed her forehead as you collected yourself. He would come after you.
As the mare galloped through the dense forest you could hear the distant shouts from Diluc. You gritted your teeth as you made your horse run faster.
Just as you thought you had made it, you heard the dreaded screams of his hawk. You had lost.
Your eyes were heavy as you slowly gained consciousness. You were tied to the desk chair inside his bedroom. Your bindings was of the finest red silk. You shivered at the similarities between you and a neatly wrapped present. In front of you were a highly distressed red haired man. He was walking back and forth, muttering something to himself.
“How could I be so careless as to not look better after her… I am a fool” he hissed to himself.
After a few minutes he stopped and turned to you. His expression softened as he cupped your face. “I apologise for the bindings, but it is necessary. You could be hurt you know?” his voice soft, but serious. “I will never let any harm happen to you. Ever.”
Dottore
The doctor’s blood red eyes always sent shivers down your spine. Even though he was human, he seemed like anything but. His embraces felt like a cage and his sweet words like poison. It didn’t take you long to understand why he was the most feared man in the entirety of Teyvat.
Dottore held you within his estate and refused to let you leave. Heavily armed guards guarded your chambers. You had tried to convince them to let you go and the next day you were delivered their served head on a platter. Dottore was cruel that much was obvious.
You knew you could never outsmart Dottore. He was one of the smartest beings on the plant and he never pretended not to be. If you couldn’t trick Dottore, you would trick the servants.
The long hallways in Dottore’s mansion were dark and empty. You sneaked through the manor as quietly as possible. With the key you had stolen clutched in your hand you made your way to the garden door. You twisted the key in the keyhole and pushed the door open. Cold air filled your lungs. Your eyes lit up at the sight of the snow filled landscape.
Your freedom was however short lived.
“If you take a step outside of that door I will behead this woman” a deep voice reached your ears.
You froze and slowly turned. There in the doorway stood the Harbinger. His raven-like mask were nowhere to be found. His hand was wrapped around the neck of the maid who you had stolen the key from. Her face was filled with fear and she looked at you pleadingly.
As much as you longed for freedom, you could not bear to have the blood from someone else on your hands. You walked back in and locked the door with a lowered head. You placed the key in Dottore’s waiting hand.
He slipped the key onto his pocket with a smile. “Good girl.”
“However…. I cannot let such an action go unpunished” he tck-ed. He threw the maid across the room. Her back hit the wall with a loud thud.
“I have given you all a specific rule you all must follow. I have made what would happen if you would ever break it quite clear, have I not?” his voice as cold as the unforgiving landscape that surrounded the estate. The maid muttered a “yes lord Harbinger”.
The blue haired man scoffed and turned to you. “I suppose I should teach you a lesson” his eyes held nothing but cold determination.
With three long strides he stopped in front of the maid. Her eyes filled with horror. He pulled out a sharp and sleek scalpel and slight her throat in a precise motion. “You deserve much more suffering, but I don’t want me darling to be witness to that so this would have to do” he sneered at the maid as she gurgled on her own blood.
He threw the scalpel and wiped his hands on his pants. “Let’s get you back to your chambers shall we.”
He snaked his arm around your waist and led you out of the hallway. “I trust that you will stop your escape attempts and accept that you belong here with me” his voice smooth like honey.
Gorou
The general of the resistance was a generous man. He always looked after his soldiers and treated them with respect and you were no different. He loved you with his entire being, that much was certain.
He never brought you to the frontlines. You were to stay at the base with a few trusted soldiers that looked after you. They all knew about your situation, but no one cared. They all were just glad that the general had someone who brought him comfort through the tough times.
As the soldiers exchanged posts you were able to sneak out of the cabin. You did not get far before a certain brunette had tracked you down.
His big cerulean eyes wide as his whole body tensed. “Why are you out here?” his big eyes not blinking once. His ears alert.
“You didn’t try to leave right? It must be something else? Right?” his voice raised. His fangs visible as he sneered.
He gripped your hand tightly as he dragged you back to the camp. “I’m sorry sweetheart, but I need to keep you safe” he looked at you with a sad expression as he hurried back to the camp.
The hybrid had always been extremely overprotective to the point it suffocated you. He always told he did what he did for your own good.
The next nights he held you tightly in his arms as he slept. His fluffy tail wrapping around your leg in a protective manner.
Heizou
The detective had locked you up in his own home, claiming it was a way to protect you. Every door and every window (and some drawers) had complicated locks on. Only a few doors and drawers were unlocked.
Heizou was out on a detective job so you were left all alone. This was your chance to get out. You knew all to well that the detective most likely would track you down, but you could not let such an opportunity pass.
The puzzle that was the lock-mechanism on the front door seemed different. Heizou did have the habit of changing them so you didn’t think too much of it. The puzzle was tricky, but after a while you were able to figure it out. The door unlocked and you squealed in joy.
You hadn’t come far before someone wrapped their arms around your shoulders. “Boo” he whispered into your ears causing you to yelp.
“Aww… Did I scare you now?” his tone mocking. He leaned his entire body weight onto you causing you to stumble. He chuckled at your shuffling and poked your cheek. “I’m glad you passed my little test sweetheart” he purred.
You regained your senses and pushed him off. You glared at him as he laughed.
“You really are entertaining aren’t you? You thought that I would ever let you go… Now that’s just too funny!” he wiped his tears as he laughed.
“With your naivety, you are better of with me” he grabbed your arm and pulled you close. Your noses almost touching. He cupped your cheeks and smiled at you gently. “I will take care of you, darling.”
Itto
The brutish oni was really clingy and always felt the need to have you glued to his side. Getting alone time was nearly impossible, but you managed when he was out organising a onikabuto match.
While the white haired man was busy making posters with his gang, you snuck out of the house. Which was surprisingly easy when he wasn’t home. The city was lively and the lit lanterns flickering in the wind. Stars littering the clear night sky. You sneaked among the multiple food stalls. The smell of fried fish filling the air.
The sound of a booming laughter made your limbs freeze to the ground. You could recognise that laughter everywhere. You turned your head and your eyes widened in fear at your confirmed suspicion. Before a dessert stall stood Itto with Mamoru. “We gotta get something for the gang. You brought money right?” the oni nudged Mamoru who muttered a “yes boss”.
You quickly hid behind a small group of someone who stood before the boba shop. Luckily you where shorter than the group and you were able to stay hidden.
“Wait… Why does it smell like [Name]?”
“I don’t know boss. Isn’t she home?”
Your heartbeat hammered against your ribs. You carefully peaked through the group. Itto was sniffing in the air, the action almost comical, had it not been for your predicament. His closed eyes snapped open. His red slit eyes met yours. His body tense like a hunting dog. His expression filled with shock. “Doll?” he called out.
Your feet moved before you even registered it. You sprinted down the street. Your sandals clicking against the ground. You didn’t need to look back to know that Itto was right behind you.
You jumped down the railing and you were thankful that the jumps wasn’t too high as you landed on the soft grass. Just as you made it behind a small building, a big hand grabbed your arm. You lost your balanced and was pulled flushed against a broad chest.
“Why are you outside?” his voice eerily quiet. “I thought I made it clear that it’s dangerous, you are not a big strong oni. Humans are so fragile and weak” he pulled you into a tight hug. His face pressed against your soft hair. “You better listen to me next time… or I would have to tie you up” he pressed a kiss on top of your head followed by a soft “I love you”.
Kaeya
The Calvary Captain’s office was quite save from the sound of the captain’s pen scribbling. He hadn’t acknowledged you since he brought you inside his spacious office. His silence was scarier than his anger. He continued to write his report about some mission. The grandfather clock in the corner ticking.
After what felt like an eternity Kaeya looked up at you. He folded his hands and leaned his chin on them. His lone eye looking straight at you, causing a shiver to run down your spine. “You broke my trust did you not?” his honeyed voice terrifying. He tck-ed. “I am disappointed, but not surprised” he sighed. “I should punish you” he unfolded his hands and drummed two fingers across the rim of his empty glass.
“Why would I want to be locked up in some apartment?” you spat at the smug knight. His lips stretched up into a uncanny smile.
“Oh my…. You are more naive than what I gave you credit for” he chuckled. He stood up suddenly, causing the chair legs to scrap against the hardwood floor. He walked towards you like a stalking wolf. His eyes hungry and brimming with madness.
He stopped before you and leaned down on the arms of your chair. His face close to yours. Too close. His crystal blue eye scanned yours. You felt completely naked underneath his gaze. “Did you really think I wouldn’t know how you so foolishly conceived the knights guarding the house?” he laughed. His laughter sickening. “I dealt with them as soon as they reported back to me. It was a pain cleaning of the blood from my new boots, but some sacrifices must be made” he sighed.
He grasped your chin and leaned closer “I will never ever let you go.”
He straightened up. His expression lighthearted. “Now let’s get something to eat shall we?” he pulled you up with a tight grip. You looked down on his boots as he dragged you out of his office, noticing the few blood speckles he had missed.
Kaveh
The house Kaveh had constructed for you two was like a maze. With many corridors and doors, it was easy to get lost. He had built you both a home where he could play out his fantasy. He had kept you locked away in the mansion for months. Kaveh said it was to keep you safe and away from prying eyes.
You tried to force the window open for the 10th time, but to no avail. The window was still only a few centimetres open. Kaveh had proudly showed you the windows he had constructed that would not open more than a few centimetres. You had hoped that the design of the master architect had failed, but to your disappointment they had not.
Your eyes scanned the room till the landed on the doors to the winter garden. The glass were delicate and beautiful. You studied it closely till you came to the conclusion that they might be fragile enough to shatter. You picked up a stool that were standing in the corner. You lifted the furniture over your head and smashed the windows with all your might. The glass doors shattered into million pieces, looking like glittering diamonds. You dropped the stool and climbed through the window. You hissed as you cut yourself on the jagged pieces of glass that were still standing.
The winter garden was cozily decorated and it almost made you sad to leave it. The door out to the garden was locked which wasn’t a surprise. To your luck one of the miniature stone statues that resembled birds of all sizes, was perfect for shattering windows. It almost broke your heart at the thought of shattering the beautiful stained glass walls, but you had no choice. With all your might you managed to break it.
You ran as fast as you could through the garden. You had to find the exit before Kaveh came home from his meeting with his new client. As you were about to climb the tall fence that surrounded the property, a pair of strong arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you down. You back hit the soft grass and straddling you were Kaveh. His eyes filled with betrayal and anger.
“How could you?!” his voice loud. His grip on your shoulders tightened. “After all that I have done for you?!” his features twisted into rage and hurt.
You tried to defend yourself, but your words died on you tongue. You had never seen Kaveh that angry. Fear filled you entire being and you felt sick. You casted a last look at the flush forest behind the fence. You knew that this would be your last time outside for a very long time.
Kazuha
With your breath ragged you ran through the dense forest. You had finally managed to escape the white haired samurai. You just needed to reach the beach and board one of the fishing boats that were docked at the dock.
You finally made it to the clearing that lead down to the beach. You waved at the fishermen and they turned to greet you. The dock was old and badly maintained. Splinters poking out and threatening to stab your feet. Just as you were about to ask the captain on the rather small boat, a gust of wind nearly knocked you down.
Red maple leaves fell gently down form the sky. The man in front of you moved quickly and elegantly. His movements like a dance, completely ensnaring you with his beauty. Crimson rain littered the air before it splattered your face. The warm liquid brought you quickly to your senses. Kazuha swiftly slashed his katana, slitting the throat of the captain. The red eyed man landed gently and wiped his blade with a handkerchief. The white fabric staining red in an instant.
He turned his gaze to you. His lips bore a gentle smile. In a blink of an eye he was right in front of you. He lifted his hand and gently wiped the bloodstains of your skin. “What is my delicate flower doing here?” his voice soft.
You swallowed. You had yet to let you eyes wander to the slaughtered boat crew. Kazuha’s eyes scanned yours. His long eyelashes fluttered. Tears ran down your cheeks in crystal clear rivers. You shoved him away as hard as you could. He stumbled back, but you knew he held back his strength. He had let you push him. “Get away from me!” your voice weak and trembling. You choked out a cry as your fell down to the wooden floor. The wood was soaked with red blood. You let your eyes wander. You wanted to throw up at the sight of the dead boatmen.
“You know I can’t do that. Without me you’re lost. I need to protect you. You are the only light in my life and I know we will live happily ever after” his voice was pained and vulnerable. His calloused hands gripped your shoulders in desperation. “I am never going to let you leave me” his smile crazed and not fitting his saddened eyes.
He wrapped his arms around you in an embrace that reminded you of a cage. His face nestled into your soft hair. “I will make you happy, just you wait and see.”
Lyney
A swarm of cards flew over your face, momentarily blinding you. You ducked your head, but lost balance as something caught your leg. It was a makeshift snare made of multiple colourful handkerchiefs. Playful giggles reached your ears.
“The surprised look on your face is to die for! So adorable!” his voice gleeful.
You quickly got back on your feet and was about to make a run for it when Lyney tackled you. You landed with a groan, the cobblestone hard against your back. Lyney pinned your hands to the ground as he sat on top of your midriff. He grinned as he looked down on you.
“It’s no fun in you escaping you know?” he tilted his head. He kissed your nose before he jumped off you. “You could at least be a little more creative” he shook his head in faux disappointment.
“Asshole” you sneered at him.
His cat like eyes crinkled in amusement at your remark. “How rude” he snickered.
Just as sudden as he had jumped you, his expression changed. His eyes colder than ice and his mouth a thin line. He grabbed your wrist and dragged you after him.
He unlocked the house he, his siblings and you resided in. He quickly locked the door after him and dragged you into your bedroom. He let go of your hand. You quickly stumbled as far away from him as you could.
“Why can’t you let me have nice things? Why [Name]?” his eyes narrowed. It was in moments like this that you remembered his role in The Fatui. His eyes held a dangerous glint that dared you to cross him.
Your eyes widened in horror. “No, no, no… Please Lyney!” you begged. Tears trialing down your cheeks and pooling down onto the soft carpet.
“You gave me no choice. This is the consequences of your own actions” he shushed you as he clasped the chain onto your left ankle. He gently kissed your tears away. “It’s only temporary, okay?” he gently stroked your cheekbone. “I love you darling, don’t forget that.”
Neuvillette
Even though the judge bore aesthetically similarities with the sea otters that lived in the Fontanian waters, he was not like them at all. They were sweet playful creatures, and the judge a selfish cruel man. His good reputation made you sick. If only the citizens of Fontaine knew him like you did.
He had kept you hidden and locked up in his beautiful home. That was until you had managed to convince the Melusine that was in charge of looking after you that day. At first she refused to let you out, but when you told her that you were going to buy a present for Neuvillette she yielded. If it was under other circumstances you would have felt bad for tricking her.
The bustling streets of The Court of Fontaine a familiar sight. You breathed in the air. Oh how you had missed the smell of new baked goods and the music of street musicians.
You knew it would not take long before Neuvillette would notice your disappearance. You had to get out of the city and onto an aqua bus before he sent the Gardes after you.
You bought a ticket with the money you had managed to steal from Neuvillette. You quickly made it up the stairs to the aqua bus station. The aqua bus was just about to depart when a group of Gardes blocked the exit behind you. You leaped for the bus only to collide with a broad chest. You could recognise that scent no matter where in Teyvat you found yourself.
You slowly raised your head. Neuvillette looked down at you with a furious expression. You had only seen that expression when he had caught you chatting with other men (it didn’t matter to him that your conversation was only friendly and nothing more). His lilac eyes bored into yours, stripping your soul naked.
“I told you to never leave the residence” his voice low and lazed with anger.
His horns glowing light blue. His hands balled into fists by his sides, clearly trying to ground himself. You lowered your head.
“We are going back at once and you better not make any commotions” his hand turned you around and firmly guided you to the lift. One of the Gardes reached out his hand in order to size you properly. “Get your filthy hand away from her” Neuvillette’s voice boomed.
The Garde tried to defend himself but was cut short by Neuvillette. “Leave at once or you will regret it” his teeth bared. His sharp fangs fully visible. The Garde bowed and quickly left.
Neuvillette’s hand tightened its hold on your shoulder. “When we get home I demanded an explanation as to why you left your home” he whispered into your ear.
Pantalone
Pantalone was sitting on a expensive leather chair. His shoes polished in a way you could see your own reflection in the black leather. In his gloved hands was a black pistol with details in white gold.
In front of him on the cold polished hardwood floor knelt a man. His hands were bound behind his back. His eyes were looking pleadingly up at the Harbinger. He was a guard whom you had befriended. He had so kindly helped you escape before you both were caught red handed by the ninth Harbinger.
The black haired Harbinger turned his face towards you. “This is what he gets for taking what’s mine” his voice as smooth as velvet. His eyes dark and his smile cunning. He turned towards the bound man. “I must admit that I am a rather greedy man. I really hate when people try to take what’s mine” he sighed and clicked his tongue. He flicked the safety and pointed the pistol at the guards head.
“No!” you screamed as you desperately tried to get lose from your silk bindings.
Pantalone shushed you gently. “He asked for it my love” his voice sweet as sugar.
“Any last words?” he smiled. “Hmm… I don’t think you deserve any” he fired the pistol before the poor guard had the time to open his mouth. Pantalone’s smile stretched into a sickening grin. The man’s brain splatters onto the expansive rug.
You screamed as you tried to swallow the bile. “How could you?! You disgusting monster! I hate you!” you screamed while thick tears ran down your cheeks.
“Don’t cry my dear. He’s not worth shedding your lovely tears over” Pantalone kneeled in front of you. His eyes gentle. “I will make sure that no other men like that ever gets between us. You are mine and nothing will ever change that” his voice low.
Pierro
The sorcerer had forced you to your knees with his magic. You could feel the power tugging at your mind and it hurt. His pale eyes boring into yours. “Have you forgotten your place?” his gruff voice echoed inside the ballroom.
You glared up at him unable to do anything else. He kneeled before you and harshly lifted your chin. His expression harsher than the unforgiving climate outside. “I must say I’m utterly disappointed in your behaviour. You should be ashamed.”
You tried to get control over your limbs, but to no avail. Your words died on your tongue and you were unable to make any sound.
The white haired man scoffed and released his hold on you. His magic released you completely and you crawled backwards and away from him. Creating as much distance as possible.
The Jester rose to his feet and dusted off invisible dust from his elegant robe. “If you were anyone else I would have executed you for your crime. Do not forget that our relationship was blessed directly blessed from Her Majesty Herself” he sneered.
He hauled you up to your feet, his iron grip bruising. He dragged you down the corridors and up the many stairs to your chambers. He slammed the door open and dragged you inside.
“Think over what you have done. I don’t take such humiliation lightly” his eyes narrow as he looked down on you. “Don’t think you will ever get away. You belong to me and that’s final” with that he closed the door and locked it making you all alone.
Sethos
You ran over the dunes as fast as you could. You had to be fast. Behind you you could hear Sethos voice as he called for you. To your misfortune the free spirited man was fast. Extremely fast. Your sandals were filled with sand, but you couldn’t care less.
Suddenly it became quiet. Too quiet. You hid behind a rock formation and listened. Suddenly a figure slid down the dune to your left and leaped on top of you. He was precise enough that make sure you landed on the sand and not the rock behind you. His wild hair rustling in the wind.
The sight in front of you reminded you of the time when he swept you away and locked you away inside the temple. He had first gotten to know you when he visited Sumeru City. He had told you it was love at first sight and he asked you to come and visit the desert with him. You were taken aback by his impulsiveness, but you soon grew accustom to it.
“If you wanted to play hide and seek you could have just said so” his entire weight on you. He was silent for a few moments. His crystal green eyes scanning yours. You could see his gears turning. “Don’t tell me you tried to run away from me…? You would never do something like that? Right?” his voice lazed with disbelief and desperation.
In a swift movement you were brought to you feet. His hold on you right and you wondered if he thought you would fly away if he let go. “Let’s get back to the temple” his voice back to its jovial self, but his eyes clouded with obsession and desperation.
Thoma
The white mop mopped over the hardwood floor in a fast motion. The white colour quickly staining red. A crimson red pool of blood was spilled across the floor. The sight made you sick. Bile raising up in your throat. You were sitting in the coroner of the room , hugging your knees. The blonde man stopped his mopping and raised his head and looked at you. His face splattered with blood. He sighed and leaned the mop against the wall.
“I am so sorry you had to see that, my angle” his green eyes pleading. He crouched in front of your trembling form. He gently caressed your cheek.
The friendly and kind housekeeper was gone and replaced by a green eyed monster that slaughtered anything in its path. He had beheaded the kind men that helped you escape from the Kamisato estate.
“I am wounded that you tried to leave me. What did I do wrong?” his eyes glossy.
You locked me away you wanted to say, but you kept your mouth shut.
“My master has been kind and let us stay here together and this is your gratitude?” his voice slightly raised. His eyes scanned over your form and landed on your bloodied nightdress. “I have to get that off” he muttered as he quickly rose. His movements frantic as he looked for a washcloth.
“My gratitude?” your voice shaky, but loud. “You have taken everything away from me!” you stood up. Your legs shaky.
Thoma’s eyes narrowed. “Watch your tongue” his voice cold.
You swallowed. You understood now better than anyone why so many feared the “fixer”.
His hold on the washcloth tight. His knuckles whiter than snow. “Go to your room and change. I will wash your nightdress later” he spoke through gritted teeth.
Your colour drained from your face as you hurried to your room. Your bedroom seemed more like a prison than anything else.
Tighnari
The forest watcher had always lectured you about various plants and their effects and benefits. At first you thought it was boring, but after awhile you learned to use it to your advantage. Taking herbs from Tighnari’s beloved collection was tricky, but not impossible. You had read through every single book he had on botany. Your plan was bulletproof.
Tighnari had gently sipped on the cup of tea you had brewed for him while he read through some reposts. He had then fallen limp over the kitchen table. You checked his pulse and breathes out in relief when you felt his pulse against your fingers. You wanted to escape from the obsessed fox, not kill him.
You rummage through his pocket for his key. The key was heavy in your hand and it was almost a surreal feeling when you twisted it in the lock. The air fresh and welcoming. With a last look at the unconscious man you began your journey.
The rainforest was tricky to navigate in, but luckily you had stolen both a map and a compass from Tighnari. Yet again you were glad you paid attention to his boring lectures. The sound of branches snapping made you stop in your tracks. The hair on the back of your neck rose.
“Poisoning me…” his voice echoed through the treetops. “Your audacity is truly something” he sneered. “Look at me when I’m talking to you” his voice nearer.
You slowly turned around and were met with a angry hazel eyes. His long ears pinned back in anger. His arms folded over his chest.
“The rainforest is dangerous. Let’s get back” you could see he was holding back his fury. His jaw clenched. He groaned and dragged a hand over his face. “I guess I have no choice…” he sighed as he stalked towards you.
Quicker thank you could register he had trapped you within his arms. “I will never let you go. I’m just trying to protect you” he whispered against your ear.
Something pricked your neck. Your eyes widened and darted to Tighnari’s. “It had to be down. Consider it… pay back” he supported your body as you lost consciousness.
Venti
The anemo archon was an eerie man. He was all smiles and friendly laughter among the crowd disguised as Venti the bard, but with you he was like a completely different person. Sure he was still easygoing, but his obsession and possession overshadowing anything else. He had told you many times with a playful smirk that he was undoubtedly the weakest archon. You never believed him. You had seen with your very own eyes what he was capable of doing to those he thought was undeserving of your attention, but you had yet to see his full potential. Though you must admit that you rather did not wish to witness that.
He kept you in the ruins of Stormterror’s lair. He had made the ruin as liveable as possible and even quite cozy. He treated you like royalty and gave you everything except freedom. You thought it was rather stupid considering he was the god of freedom.
Escaping the ruin was almost completely impossible considering the wind shields that surrounded it and the dragon that acted as a guard. When you finally managed to escape and run over the grassy meadows you were so happy you cried.
Your tears clouded your vision causing you to become less aware of your surroundings.
Strong wind slammed against causing you to lose balance. There in front of you were Barbados. He was not in his usual clothing, but rather in a godly outfit. White big wings flapping behind him. His cerulean eyes glowing intensely in the night. He was completely silent, but you felt the anger oozing out from him.
You were completely frozen to the ground and you were unsure if it was his doing or your fear taking over. You wanted to explain yourself, but your voice failed you completely.
With a gust of wind you were swept up into his arms. His arms strong and squeezed you flushed against him. His wings flapped silently as he soared through the air. High up in the air you were able to see Mondstadt City and you quickly came to the realisation that you would probably never step a foot inside its gates again.
Wanderer/Scara
In front off you was a raging man. His eyes wide and filled with fury. His hands held anemo power which he sliced through the merchants that had guided you through the tick rainforest. Wanderer’s hair was slicked back with blood. He delivered the last strike to the merchant before he landed. He slowly turned around to face you. His hands shaking with anger.
You opened your mouth, but quickly shut your mouth at his raised hand. “Those lowlife who think they can take you away from me” he laughed manically. “How dumb can you be?” Wanderer sneered through laughter. “Because you would never leave me right? After all I have been through? Right?” his eyes crazed as he continued to spew nonsense. “We are destined to be together. It’s my right. How dare they to take that away from me?! I should revive them just so that I could kill them again” his laughter sounded almost forced.
He wrapped his arms around you. You could feel tears against your neck as he wept. You were astonished by his vulnerability. It almost made you pity him. Just almost.
He quickly regained his composure and roughly wiped his tears on his sleeve. “Let’s go home…” his voice distant.
The journey back had been quite. When you finally arrived back he shoved you inside. His eyes wide and intense. “You have no idea how much I wanna lock you up in a cage right now” he muttered. His porcelain white hand tightly gripping yours. “I will make sure so that you never leave me. I need you. I need you so much it hurts. So don’t ever try and get away.”
Wriothesley
You had long planned your escape from The Fortress of Meropide. Unlike the other inmates you were completely innocent. You had been wrongfully imprisoned on the request of Wriothesley. You had gained the trust of some of you fellow inmates and they promised to help you escape. You had chose the pipe cleaning day as your day of escaping. All went smoothly and exactly as planned.
The only step left in your plan was descend into the waters that the pipes were connected too and swim out to freedom. After that you had to avoid the detectors, but you were confident in your diving abilities.
As you were saying your thanks to the kind inmates, the sound of heavy boots against metal echoed in the pipes. In the opening of the pipe were Wriothesley. His imposing figure sending shivers down you spine.
The metal decorations on his outfit clattering with each step. The handcuffs on his hip catching the light. His icy eyes held an unreadable emotion. “Well well… What might this ruckus be?” he tilted his head and placed his hands on his hips. His tone held a dangerous edge to it. Wriothesley eyes glued onto yours and completely ignoring the others.
A bottomless pit formed in your stomach and you almost threw up. You swallowed the taste of vomit. Your freedom was so close, yes so very far.
“Are you aware your sentences are going to be so much longer?” his lips curled up into a little smirk. “I thought you were smarter than this” with two steps he reached you. He hooked off his cuffs and cuffed your wrists. “It seems you need a more secure cell… Luckily I know just the one” he leaned closer to your ear “I will make sure you always stick to my side”.
You had never regretted something more than your little escape attempt. The new so called cell was a bedroom connected to the Duke’s living quarters. Your freedom had never been so distant as it was now.
Xiao
You ran as fast as you could. The landscape blurring together as you navigated through the forest. You had to escape him. Or at least try. Tue bamboo forest was dense and dark. Your human eyes struggled to see clearly. You could hear birds fleeing in the distance. He was close.
You had ran away when you learned that he had slaughtered the man who had so kindly gifted you sun pork buns. The adepti had let you run first, which surprised you. Even though you didn’t understand why, you were grateful for your head start.
Suddenly a green black cloud appeared in front off you. You tried to turn in your heel to flow, but was stopped when a hand grabbed your collar. You were momentarily unable to breath. It was only when he loosened his grip that you were able to gasp for air.
“I don’t understand you mortals. I only do what I have to protect you. I give you everything you need and more” he sounded confused and annoyed.
“Without me you would not have managed to survive. At all” he spun you around so you could face him. “Did me killing that man hurt you that much? I have killed many of you near acquaintances and you never batted an eye…” his voice trailed off as he was lost in thought. “Could it be that you never realised? Never mind. It doesn’t matter now” he sighed.
At the thought of him killing your near friends without you knowing made you sob helplessly. He only started at you in confusion.
He clicked his tongue before he hauled you over his shoulder. “I need to ask Madame Ping for a tea pot it seems…” his voice a frustrated groan.
Zhongli
You had sought shelter at a kind older couple. You needed to regain your energy before you fled the city. The woman was kind and gladly cooked for you. She completely denied your help. You stayed at their house for two weeks before the older woman knocked at your bedroom door and told you a friend of her husband was coming to visit.
The atmosphere in the living room was as tense as it could get. In front of you were Zhongli. He was the friend the couple had spoken so warmly about. The brunette was sitting in the sofa besides the woman, one of his legs over the other. His hand elegantly holding a cup of tea. His reptile eyes staring you down intensely.
You felt like sinking into the floor. Your hands trembling as you took a sip of the tea. The bitter taste doing nothing to soothe your nerves.
“I don’t know if you are aware, but I and miss [Name] know each other’s very well” his smile sharp. To hear your husband speaking in such manner made your heart beat against your chest.
You knew it was unwise to go against Morax and his contracts, but you had no choice. He had tricked you into signing the contract that would imprison. Zhongli had terrified you before you knew of his identity as the Geo Archon, but when you found out about his identity you were absolutely petrified.
Zhongli hummed at a joke the man had told. His golden eyes never leaving yours. His lips twisted up into a grin which revealed his sharp fangs. With the golden light from the sunset outside he looked even more inhuman than ever before. You felt small and utterly helpless before him. You dreaded his punishment that you knew would income when he brought you back.
After an hour and an half had past Zhongli excused himself. “I must take my leave now. [Name] you should come with” his order clear as day. He smiled to the couple and bowed in courtesy.
You swallowed and nodded. You thanked the couple for their hospitality and left with Zhongli.
When you were out of earshot he turned to you. “A broken contract is no laughing matter my dear” his hand gripping yours. “I will make it clear to you when we get back who you belong to” his voice deep and determined.

GENSHIN MEN & WAKING UP BESIDE THEM .
characters. xiao zhongli kaeya diluc childe alhaitham kaveh x reader genre. romantic fluff! an. something cutesy to end the day ~ hopefully this is a nice change from all the crack fics... | please reblog!! im getting back into writing and reblogs with tags and comments will make me want to write more :D
xiao
the time spent waking up with xiao is typically scarce – he's typically left for scouting missions before the sun grants you a glance at your sleeping frame. when he does take the chance to sleep in, though - it's usually accompanied with lots of pleading with him during the night before. mornings are slow, and easy. today, no one is in a rush, pacing circles around the clock. the both of you are finally taking the time to sit down together to enjoy a simple meal.
zhongli
mornings with zhongli are usually encompassed with three things – waking you up, having breakfast, and resting in each other's presence. it isn't a satisfying morning if any of the three aren't fulfilled. zhongli presses a kiss to your temple, gently pushing the covers aside so he can lay in bed with you for a few more moments. a traditional breakfast consisting of steaming bowls of congee, bamboo shoot soup ladled in tiny teacup-like bowls, and stir fried kailan.
kaeya
kaeya usually likes to sleep in, unless he's on duty. such is the life of a weary captain – when rest comes, he cradles it against his chest like a mother with her baby. it is precious and almost fleeting... his hollowed, restless face says it all. you press a kiss to his forehead and rub his purlicue as you patiently wait for his breathing to even out once again.
diluc
mornings with diluc are comfortable and luxurious. you're royalty, at the ragnvindr manor – adelinde serves a five star breakfast spread just for you and diluc, always at 8:50am. sometimes she made pancakes, with generous drizzles of syrup and adorned with fruit – or maybe a staple of bacon and eggs, the fat sizzling in the pan until the whole manor was granted the privilege of the delight. diluc wants nothing but the best for his lover, and he's always more than happy to lay in bed with you as long as you'd like.
childe
mornings with childe are a hit or miss – it's either rejuvenating, getting to spend this time with your lover – or it's devoid of rest. usually, it's decided from two factors – if he spent the last day with you, or on the battlefield. the battlefield is weary, as marvelous of a fighter he may be. the renowned harbinger gets tired of sparring every now and then, but spending the morning with you always puts him right back in the mood to be with his bow, with you by his side.
alhaitham
waking up with alhaitham means spending the first twenty minutes wiping the sleep from your eyes, and snuggling back into his arms the minute your fingers reach for the snooze button. alhaitham holds you close to his chest – so close, you can feel his chest rising up and down with every relaxed breath he lets out, because he's finally back in your arms again.
kaveh
waking up with kaveh usually means it's a competition; all in good fun of course! you race to get to the bathroom first, brush your teeth first, get changed first – anything and everything will be made into a competition. he loves to gloat when he gets it (because you let him win, of course) but it's always coupled with him making breakfast after all that activity, first thing in the morning. after breakfast usually leads to being quiet and resting with each other before you start your activities.

Manhwa tropes headcanons
Friendly reminder that English is not my first language. You can check my Masterlists both in English and Polish here. Consider supporting me on Ko-fi. You can also check out my commissions if you're interested.
Other headcanons from this series can be found here.
Tumblr media
Alhaitham ✧ Duke of North
✧ I think he would fall under the stereotype of a person who cares but you'd have to wait to notice it. Alhaitham, after taking over the rule of the land of Sumeru for a short time and then handing it over to someone else, would be seen as someone who was not up to the challenge. It wouldn't be true but he wouldn't care what people thought of him. That's why he would end up in the not so famous and welcoming North, cold and far from people, which in his opinion was the best place.
✧ If you came to his castle with the prospect of concluding a marriage arrangement in the future, he would consider it in pragmatic terms. He would need someone with a more optimistic outlook on life than him and who wouldn't be put off by the initial coldness, even though he wouldn't be aware of it at first. He would believe in a political marriage until he would truly fell in love with you. You could count on Kaveh (an extremely annoying friend in Duke's opinion) in winning Alhaitham's heart.
✧ You would be impressed by his intelligence. He would certainly run his dukedom with dignity. You could expect dates in the gigantic library and hours spent in his company poring over ancient manuscripts. Until you accidentally get attacked by monsters and then it turns out that he can also fight with a sword and act like a prince from fairy tales.
Tumblr media
Pantalone ✧ Rich CEO
✧ Pantalone would be that one rich man about whom the press would always write and children would make presentations in schools about his career path. In interviews and the media, he would have a wide smile on his face that would make you squint and only his business rivals would know what he really was like.
✧ You would meet at one of the numerous banquets. You would have to be a person of incredible cleverness to even be able to negotiate with him on business matters. In addition, you would have to figure everything out on your own, because according to his experience, he would rather not do business with someone who inherited everything from others. Once you were offered a deal to get rid of your shared competition, you would start spending more time together.
✧ Crystal chandeliers, expensive drinks and long dresses. What was supposed to be just a fling would turn into a feeling fueled by the desire to be close. The wedding would be a massive event and you can be sure it would be done quite quickly but at the same time he would have thought it through carefully.
✧ I think that Pantalone would be the type of man who would jump over his wife at home and spoil her a lot, preparing new surprises and outside to the media he would only show your poker faces and successes. Power couple for sure.
Tumblr media
Zhongli ✧ Reincarnation
✧ Zhongli's longevity would cause him pain and suffering over the years. He would be that eternally young man who would look for you in every life of his and so on for centuries. This would require him to have a lot of knowledge but with each piece of information comes a lot of experiences and not always pleasant ones.
✧ You would have been cursed long ago and sentenced to death. To save you, he would make a contract with you that you would live forever. However, this comes at a high price. You wouldn't remember any of your previous incarnations and you would be different in each life. He couldn't explain anything to you. Interestingly, Zhongli would truly love every version of you, no matter how different they were and would always somehow recognize you.
✧ Many times he promised himself that he would stop and avoid you to spare himself the pain but in the end he never succeeded. Even if it was at the end of your life, he would show up sooner or later. He spends years trying to bend the rules of his own contract and each time he hopes that he will succeed in this life.
Tumblr media
Kirara ✧ Neko
✧ Kirara would be that always busy girl who would accidentally be in the wrong place at the wrong time. She would work for a courier company and once be late with a shipment. Just once. To make matters worse, the parcel would supposed to go to a fortune teller and she would curse her. At first everything would be normal and she would go on with another delivery. From which she would never come back because she became a cat!
✧ In this condition, she would arrive at your door. A parcel and a kitten with it. You didn't have the heart to leave her. You would take her in with the intention of giving her to a shelter but you would feel too sorry for her. Especially since from the very beginning she seemed very strangely intelligent for an animal.
✧ In time, her speech would return and she would be able to tell you a little about herself. At times she would turn back into a human with ears and sometimes with a tail. One thing was certain, whatever the fortune teller did to her, her condition would only get worse if she was away from you.
✧ You would spend a long time trying to understand her situation. After time, it would turn out that the key to breaking the curse, like in all stories, was love.

Ayato
Sometimes, you felt like this marriage was a mistake.
Not felt actually, knew. It was an arranged marriage after all. The two of you had gotten to know each other just before the marriage, and you both did indeed have feelings for each other and even ended up falling in love during the arrangement.
So, in your mind, it was a real marriage. Perhaps to his it was just an arranged one.
You spent your days in bed alone, a cold spot beside you always. Even when you woke up, he was never there.
Your parents weren’t as rich as the Kamisatos or popular, but due to the fact the Kojou clan denied the arrangement since Sara wasn’t ready for marriage. Your clan was second choice.
Maybe you were second choice in his life too.
You never felt good enough for him, barely ever speaking on how he was hardly here because you felt like you were in no position to speak up about it. He worked so hard for his family, and his clan represented so much in Inazuma it was a lot of work. Meanwhile your parents did most the work, but your clan was hardly known. It just proved how much better he was than you.
Even after a year of your….marriage, you still felt the same. During the first few months you were both so close, spending nights giggling as he’d cuddle you while slightly tickling you just to piss you off. You don’t even see him anymore.
You started hearing workers around the estate talk about him and Kojou Sara. She was originally the first choice, and you felt like maybe he was going back to her.
“They’re so much better together!”
“Never really thought him and Y/N’s clan were a good go.”
“She’s not a good choice for Ayato at all. I hope he finally comes to his senses and chooses Sara.”
“I heard they’ve been together a lot this past month, so he must be going back to her!”
She was always the first choice.
When you heard the conversation between the workers, you ran into the hall leading to your room.
“Y/N?” Ayaka realized, worry laced in her tone as you bumped into her, tears streaming down your face.
“Apologies.” You murmured, not even sparing her a look as you continued down the hall to your room, quickly closed the door so she couldn’t come and ask questions.
You walked over to your desk, tears falling onto the hard wood of the desk as you grabbed a paper, finding a pen hurriedly.
When Thoma had taken you to his homeland once, you met a very nice man who you considered had very amazing advice. His name was Diluc, and ever since you visited, you’ve been constantly sending him letters- that being the way the two of you would communicate.
Dear Diluc,
You started writing, hoping he wouldn’t mind the tears that would be dry by the time he received this letter. You wrote all about your marriage troubles- how in the last month Ayato has hardly spoken to you, taking up more hours at work, and spending more time with another woman. You wrote down your suspicions he was probably in love with Sara, seeing as she was originally the first choice.
Part of you didn’t understand why you were so shocked because well, why not her? The workers were right, she was so much better that you in many ways; a better fighter, a harder worker, a better clan- a better everything.
When you read over the letter, you couldn’t help yourself from crying even more, fay tears rolling down your cheeks like an endless waterfall. You pushed the paper to the side, not wanting your tears to mess up the ink and your head fell onto the table as all you did was sob into your arms.
Your sobs turned into quiet whimpers until you felt no more motivation to continue crying, falling asleep right on the table.
~~
When Ayato overheard what was seen of you from Ayaka, he rushed home as constant questions plagued his mind.
This was the first time he had ever left work only- it being almost 7pm, the sun starting to go down. He expected to find you on the bed, perhaps napping or crying into the pillows but no, he saw you with your head down on the table.
He walked up to you slowly, putting his hands on your shoulders and giving you a shake. He heard a slight snore and realized you were asleep, immediately removing his hands.
His eyes caught dried tears on a piece of paper and he picked it up, starting to read over it all.
At the end, he’d taken your old spot as he himself started to cry at the words you’d written; how you felt like a nobody compared to him, how he could do so much better and that he was probably in love with Kojou Sara.
That last part was what shocked him most. No! He was in love with you and only you’ he’ll admit, he has been with her a lot, but it was strictly for work! It’s been crazy with the end of the vision hunt degree, leaving the two clans in charge after Sara’s father was removed.
He read it over again, seeing how you wrote constantly “second choice” all over again.
In reality, the Kojou clan was originally his parents choice and was forced to ask them first. He always wanted to ask you first, because he had met you before and found you as the most gorgeous and outgoing girl he’s ever seen.
He looked back at you, one of his tears falling atop your head. Why didn’t you tell him any of this?! He would’ve loved to resssure you that you were the love of his life, the girl he’d always dreamed of. Sure, he hasn’t been here for a while- oh.
He dragged his hand down his face, realizing why you didn’t say anything; because he was never here.
“I’m so sorry, my love.” he whispered, wrapping  one of his arms behind your back and on under your legs as he picked you up, taking you towards the bed and placing you down gently.
You started to stir awake when you felt his arms wrap around you. “‘Yato?” You called, barely above a whisper.
He shushed you, placing a kiss to where your shoulder met your neck as he snuggled closer to you. “I’m here now, my love. I promise I’ll always be here. Now go sleep, I’ll be here when you wake up. I’ll be here forever and always. I love you so much, more than words can say.”
It was gonna be a long talk once the two of you woke up, but either way, you felt a lot warmer that night.
Alhaitham
You and Alhaitham weren’t engaged or married, only being together for a year and a half now.
So probably understandable why he was probably losing feelings for you? Right? Right?
“Hey, Kaveh.” You said, sitting in the kitchen of your shared home with Kaveh and Alhaitham.
“You look drained, Y/N. Are you okay?”
“Yeah.”
That was a lie and a big fat one at that. You weren’t okay whatsoever.
Recently, in the last month, Alhaitham had barely come back home and you’ve hardly gotten the chance to see him. There was no more good morning or good night kisses, little dates in between work or work visits. There was none of that.
Now it was just waking up to a cold, empty spot in your bed.
Kaveh could read you like an open book. He’s noticed the lack of affection and attention you’ve gotten from Alhaitham, and despite the fact he despised the man, he also cared for him and his significant other and noticed everything.
He just hoped his and yours suspicions wouldn’t come true; that he had fallen out of love and was possibly cheating.
The latter was what scared him the most with how recently Alhaitham has been with Dehya. He came back after a week of being away to the Grand Azar being removed along with half the workers in the Akademiya, to Alhaitham and Dehya now best friends. The fuck happens when he isn’t here?!
He’s seen how close the two are during his times being in the Akademiya and he prayed to Kusanali that the worst wasn’t going to happen.
You knew about Dehya; you’ve heard about it all over Sumeru. How she was a perfect fighter, a desert bloom, perfect both and image for all eremites.
You were jealous, and a tad bit insecure. She was perfect in so many ways; popular, appreciated, constantly complimented. Her body was perfect along with her hair and voice.
Your hair had uneven ends and you didn’t consider your body to be perfect.
No wonder Alhaitham would go for someone like her.
“Why don’t you go see Alhaitham?” Kaveh asked before he quickly got a large brown paper bag that was somehow filled with lunch and came out of nowhere. “Bring him lunch!”
It was his one attempt at getting you guys back to how you used to be.
You hoped it would work as Kaveh walked you to the Akademiya, and the whole time you were scared as your heart would drop with each step.
“Tell me where you find him, I need to talk to him about some work.” Kaveh said before leaving to talk to a scholar once the two of you arrived at the Akademiya.
You checked the library and there was no sign of him, even going to the outdoor areas since you knew how much he liked reading outdoors. You eventually asked a scholar who had pointed you in direction of his office and you felt your heart drop again.
You opened the doors slightly, hoping your lover would be happy to see you.
But what you came in to see was a Dehya standing right beside him as he wrote on a piece of paper, sitting on a chair at his office desk.
You felt your heart break a little when he didn’t even notice you walked in.
He only noticed when he heard the click of the door close behind you, the both of them looking up to see you with confusion on their faces.
The way Dehya stood so close to him with her toned and perfect body made your breath quicken in panic.
“Y/N?” Alhaitham spoke in confusion, halting his movement of writing on the paper. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to bring you lunch.” You spoke so quietly that it was almost a whisper that the two couldn’t hear.
“Oh.” He blinked as you put the bag on his desk, a fake smile plastered on your face that even though he was your lover, he couldn’t tell how forced it was. “Thank you.”
That was all he said before he looked back at Dehya, continuing to talk about eremites in the desert.
You felt your heart break into a million pieces and you slowly turned to leave. They broke into a million more when he didn’t even say goodbye or notice your departure.
You closed the door quietly and ran once it closed, tears streaming down your tears as you rushed to get out of the Akademiya.
Although, in the library, you heard a mention of his name and had to stop just to listen.
“Have you seen the Scribe and Dehya lately? I heard they’re together.”
“Really? What about Y/N? Did they break up?”
“Probably. Alhaitham is far better off with Dehya either way, not Y/N.”
You felt more tears stream down your face, not bringing yourself to move as you kept listening to the disgusting things they said about you.
The only thing that brought you out of it was a hand on your shoulder and you looked up to see Kaveh staring at you, concern all over his face as his hand moved up from your shoulder to wipe your tears.
You let out a loud sniff, shoving his hand away before speaking. “He’s in his office, if you’re still looking for him.”
Before he could speak, you ran off, leaving the library and soon leaving the Akademiya.
Kaveh glared at Alhaitham’s office doors. Sure, he lost most of his arguments to Alhaitham, but this one he was gonna win as he marched his way into the office, forcing Dehya out before he started yelling at the grey-haired man.
~~
You couldn’t stay in Sumeru anymore. That was it.
You had been completely humiliated in front of Dehya, Kaveh and now the entire Akademiya knows that Dehya is so much better off for Alhaitham.
Maybe being a forest ranger wasn’t too bad. It would mean hardly being in the main city and you wouldn’t have to see Alhaitham.
You were actually thinking about it as you started writing a letter addressed to Tighnari at the edge of your bed, but halfway through when you realized what you were doing and why, you started violently sobbing as you fell to your knees, the letter scrunched up on the ground beside you as you sobbed into the softness of the edge of the bed.
You didn’t even hear the door open.
When Kaveh came in screaming at Alhaitham, it certainly shocked him and Dehya. He had even gone as far to yell at Dehya to get out of the office and she did, running out.
He went on and on about how you were and with each word, Alhaitham’s heart started to break.
He hadn’t even realized how much he’d been neglecting you until Kaveh had to voice it out for you. He’s been so busy with work and choosing a new grand sage that he’s practically been ignoring you and treating you like a stranger.
When Kaveh said the sentence “at this point, Y/N would be a lot better with me since you can’t be a good boyfriend!” Alhaitham stormed out of the office, making his way straight home with no stops.
You were his and his only and fuck no were you ever going to be Kaveh’s. He loved you, WAY more than Kaveh ever will.
But it seemed like Kaveh loved you more than he did in the last month and he hated every part of himself for it.
When he got home, he heard your violent sobs and started rushing to your shared room, his heart breaking once more at the sight of you.
He went down on his knees and wrapping his arms around you, pulling your back to his chest with his arms wrapped around your waist as you shook with sobs in his arms.
“Haitham?”
“I’m so sorry.” He spoke, his head resting against your shoulder as his own tears came out. “I’m so fucking sorry. You didn’t deserve what I did to you this past month, and I understand if you’re mad and want to leave me. Words can’t express how sorry I am, but I promise I will take the next few weeks off. Even if they tell me no, I’ll go against them and stay with you. My sweet, pretty girl, I love you- so so so much and a LOT more than Kaveh. You’re perfect, so so so perfect for me. Perfect face, eyes, mouth-“
He paused to press kisses all over your cheek, making you giggle through your cries and bringing a smile to your face. “My lips love you. My hands love you. I’ll go as far to say my dick loves you. Everything about me loves you. You’re perfect for me- everything about you is perfect for me. Screw anyone else, I just want you baby.”
The next hour went by with him saying constant reassurances while kissing you all over. He had even ripped apart the letter you wrote for Tighnari, saying you’ll never leave his side and certainly won’t work for another man where he can’t even see you.
He held you close that night, making sure you were warm after all the cold nights.

Genshin Impact Reverse Harem
A.N: I had seen this husbando ranking someone did as if they were in an Ancient Chinese harem. And that sparked something so THIS time, this is a Reverse Harem, SAGAU fanfic!!
Genshin Impact MasterList
---------------------------------
You had come from different world where the game of Genshin Impact existed. You were also a Husbando collector, or rather you tried to be. As a complete F2P, you did have to budget, so you technically didn’t own all the husbando characters.
But that didn’t mean they didn’t own your heart or that in your heart you considered them yours.
Then you one day, you went to bed, normal as could be. When you next woke up, you were not in your own bed. You were in a plush bed, surrounded by the softest pillows you’d ever known, in silk sheets even (you’d realize this later).
It decidedly was NOT your bed.
But that wasn’t what held your attention at that moment.
“You’re awake!! You’ve finally came to us!”
You had awoken in Teyvat, surrounded by the very husbandos that owned your heart in your world.
“We had been waiting for you!”
You had your own Serenitea Teapot where you lived if you weren’t traveling Teyvat. But if that wasn’t surprising enough, you woke up to discover that the husbandos were, in fact, your very own harem.
The harem is broken into sections. Rank in the harem was largely determined on who your heart connected with most. The higher the rank, the more of a connection you had with that husbando.
And why this one and less of a connection with that one, you may ask?
Who knows?....
1st Husband/Emperor
Tumblr media
Zhongli was the one that held the most connection to your heart. It made sense to your way of thinking.  He was the first 5 star that you got. The one that you spent all of your time trying to get. He was a rock, both in your party and in your heart. You spent hours listening to his voice:
Why is it that, once you finally get a break, rather than taking a rest, you instead come to me? Is it that you want to hear one of my stories?
He was the first one that you saw when you woke up. Shock was an understatement. You thought maybe this was an elaborate prank and/or that he was very, VERY good at cosplay.
He took your shock in stride, ushering out the others: “You will see her again later, but for now, you must give her some breathing room.”
Your eyes were wide as the group grumbled but filed out, promising to return later when you were feeling better.
Zhongli returned to your side, cupping your cheek. His hand was warm to the touch. You jumped back at first, startled by having a grown man suddenly show such affections.
“My apologies. I should heed my own advice and not rush you.”
It took you a minute (ie several hours before you even felt safe enough to get out of bed much less come downstairs). And it took you several days longer to realize, this was real. You had fallen into Teyvat and you actually had a harem of husbandos.
This was a legit fanfic come to life!!
But you eventually settled in. You spent quite a great deal of time with Zhongli. Listening to his stories in person had a whole other effect. If you weren’t listening to his stories, you could sit quietly with him, drinking tea as you watched nature go by.
Ahh, yes, your 1st husband made your heart quite calm.
2nd Husband/Noble Consort
Tumblr media
How long will this require, exactly?
Alhaitham was more surprised than you that, he was ranked so. He preferred not to socialize and not to invite any kind of extra trouble into his life.
Based on my observations, many people inflict trouble upon themselves. Life already has enough hardships — no need to add to them.
You were exactly like this too. You loved that he wasn’t so noisy all the time. Both of you could be found sequestered away, either reading together or doing your own separate things.
But the silence was not oppressive.
Perhaps that’s why he became quite commendable to your company. When you did speak to each other, it was with a purpose. Neither of you liked small talk, and if you both had something to say to the other, then you said it.
But the moment there was nothing to be said, then didn’t. Quite simple.
Sometimes, one of the others would interrupt the silence between the two of you.  Your twin glares were enough to freeze a boar.  Thankfully, that didn’t happen very much. If either of you were needed, usually Zhongli could interject in a way that did not have him running for the hills.
Although, he was technically head of the Consorts, he rarely interacted with the rest of them unless he needed to.
Alhaitham guessed it wasn’t so bad. He was allowed his own quarters away from the general Consort area, but could usually be found in the library.
On rare occasions you, Alhaitham and Zhongli could be found sharing the silence. And extremely rare times did the voices of Alhaitham and Zhongli carry a conversation that, whose combined voices often had the power to lull you to sleep.
Even if you weren’t sleepy…
Consorts
Most of the husbandos fell into this category
Xiao was technically a consort, but he rarely lived among the consort area either. Even now, he was scared of his karma poisoning those around him. He was scared of poisoning you and generally preferred to maintaining a little bit of distance. However, he still expected you to call if him ran into any trouble.
If you awake to a knife at your throat, if monsters dig their claws into you, if death comes knocking at your door, call out my name. Adeptus Xiao. I will be here when you call.
Most of the time, Xiao still preferred to act as a bodyguard to Zhongli. Not that he needed to, as the man could bring a mountain on someone’s head. But if Zhongli was around, look for a shadow and Xiao would probably be there.
If there was a “leader” among the Consorts, it would be Cyno. He acted as a barometer of justice and would shut down any kind of tomfoolery.
I'm Cyno, General Mahamatra of the Akademiya. It's my duty to uphold the rules, and punish wrongdoing. I will protect you on your journey.
He frequently had to monitor the Concubines, just because there were quite a bit of ruckus in that court. You did not appoint him so, but he took it upon himself. His stern constance was enough to make most come on the correct.
Not that Tighnari or Diluc needed it. They were quite capable of monitoring themselves and acting accordingly. Tighnari managed a garden in your teapot, while Diluc could be found training. If for some reason Cyno’s constance wasn’t enough, with the combined force of Diluc and Cyno, not even the crystal flies would dare to flutter their wings loudly.
Despite being a barometer of justice, Cyno was a big child when he was with you and those he trusted, namely Tighnari. The three of you would play TCG.
Tighnari would blame you for Cyno’s jokes getting worse. Most of the time you laughed, not because the joke was funny but because Cyno was being so serious or more often than not the reactions he gets from those involved, namely Tighnari.
You had to break up friendly fights between Tighnari and Cyno because of that.
Kaeya and Venti were a bit more rambunctious of the Consorts. Both were ecstatic to see you, usually wanting to break out the wine.
Um, only you didn’t like alcohol, just like Diluc.
Kaeya only pouted:
I can't believe that some people actually drink grape juice... If they had a little more patience, they would find that it ferments into the most exquisite wine. Hmph. So unromantic.
Yeah, you found remaining sober to be the height of romance, but whatever. Both you and Diluc could be found drinking grape juice. Sometimes you like to drink Almond Milk, if you wanted to be extra.
Sure, I'll play you another tune, but it'll cost you an apple.
Venti was always bringing delicious apples to share with his Windblume. But you found him to be sneaky because in order to get him to play a tune on his lyre, he would want an apple as the cost.  At this point, you were sure, he was doing this on purpose.
But on days, when you felt a little down, he could quietly pull out his lyre and strum a calming tune. Those days, mentions of apples were nowhere to be found.
Most of the problem children were found in the Concubines court, but that didn’t mean that no one else had ever been punished from the Consort court.
Both Kaeya and Venti’s drinking sometimes landed themselves punished, usually resorting to being locked in the Cold Palace for a period of time. There was this time when both of them with Kazuha….
Wait, we are getting ahead of ourselves…
Concubines
You were going to be honest, half of the concubines gave you a headache….. They had the least connection with your heart but wasn’t totally disconnected, landing themselves in this court.
Problem Child #1- Saramouche/Wanderer:  His problem was the lack of trust in you. He was 95% attitude on a good day and would eye you as if he was going to betray him. On his bad days, he’s rant and rave about how he is the new god and that you should serve him, and not the other way around.
To be fair, you didn't consider any of your husbandos to in “servitude” to you. No one was bound to do anything they didn't want to. Your hubandos frequently came and went from your Teapot when they got good and ready.
But at those times, Scaramouche could not be reasoned with and usually landed himself in the Cold Palace because of that. However, most of the time Scaramouche didn’t visit as much as the others to begin with, so that might account for why he wasn’t practically living in the Cold Palace by now.
But then he eventually became the Wanderer. As technically a Descender, since you were not of this world, you were the only one that remembered the fact that he was Scaramouche along with the Traveler.
Wanderer wasn’t sure how he felt about that. He unexpectedly softened, but only for a brief moment before he returned to his usual snarky self. As Wanderer, he found himself visiting your Teapot quite a bit more than when he was Scaramouche, which annoyed him to no end. (His words, not yours.)
As Scaramouche he was Concubine status, but perhaps, he would quickly rise to Consort status as Wanderer? Only time would tell.
Problem Child #2- Childe: You admitted he could be charming….when he didn’t flip a switch and suddenly want to fight everyone. This habit of his landed him in the Cold Palace more often than not.  You sometimes wondered if it was a way to get your attention.
There was one time he stormed the Consort court, looking for a fight. Cyno gave it to him and threw him in the Cold Palace. You only heard about it after the fact.
At some point you wondered if that was considered a punishment because he would just use that time to train.
Problem Child #3-Itto: You admitted he had a heart, but there were marbles missing from his jar and he had a stubbornness that often landed him in trouble. Once Childe wanted to fight, Itto was easy to goad into fighting him. They were pitting their strength against each other, going all out.
Cyno was not having it!
Itto usually got sent to the Cold Palace as punishment for not learning to stay out of things. But once in the Cold Palace, he’d laugh it off and began training as well.
You weren’t sure if Childe or Itto would ever keep themselves off of punishment at this point.
The good children of the Concubine Court were as follows:
Thoma could cook his way into your heart and frequently cooked for everyone. Ayato impressed you with his grace and brains. Kazuha was soft-spoken, often greeting you with haikus when you saw each other. The three of them barely gave the harem any trouble.
But there was that time that Kaeya and Venti got Kazuha drunk. After getting drunk, Kazhua somehow managed to find you and cling to you just before he fell asleep. Kaeya and Venti were punished with time in the Cold Palace (after they sobered up–they needed to realize they were on punishment) and while you were willing to let Kazhua slid…..
Kazuha would not let himself off the hook. He was so embarrassed by his conduct that he couldn’t look you in the eyes for weeks. He locked his own self up in the Cold Palace to reflect on his mistakes.
But despite the range in personalities, you quite enjoyed spending time with everyone.
You still thought this was a fanfic come to life though…

Masterlist
Summary: You had been forced away from Cyno by your schoolwork for a while now, always busy with projects and homework from your classes. Now, however, since you were both finishing out the last two months of your Sophmore year of college, you both had time to do other things as well, one of which included him studying not only his textbooks for his exams, but your body, as well.
Warnings: NSFW, fem!reader, fingering, degradation, choking, dacryphilia, overstimulation, Cyno being a tease, slight bondage if you squint

You couldn't help but squeeze your thighs together every time you thought about the things you wanted him to do to you. Your boyfriend of well over three years now, Cyno, was currently walking to your car with you after a long day of lessons and classwork. He had a small smile on his face as he spoke. "Could we maybe study at your place? You're the one planning to major in English, and it's not my strongest subject. I'm also a bit worried about the exam and what to write for the essay." he asked. "Sure." you said quickly, all but dragging him to sit in your car. Tighnari had to drive him today since his car broke down about ten minutes from the college. You agreed to take him home, since he'd spent the night at your place plenty of times. While you were driving, you spoke. "Do you wanna stop by your place first to get a change of clothes?" you asked, briefly glancing over at him as he spoke. "Yes, that's probably a good idea." he said, looking back at his phone as he texted Kaveh. "I told Kaveh that he and Alhaitham can go ahead to dinner without us, since I'll be busy studying and doing what homework I have left." he said. "And railing me, after." you mumbled under your breath. "What was that?" he asked, causing you to shake your head. "And eating with me, after." you lied, causing him to nod. "We could order takeout if you want." he offered. "Sure." you replied, smiling softly. He nodded, before turning his attention back to his phone as you continued driving.
The moment you got to your house, you parked your car in the driveway and got out, locking it behind you. You watched as Cyno jogged to the door and unlocked it with his key, opening it for you. "You first." he said, closing the door behind him when you were in the house. "Now then, what should we get as takeout?" he asked, watching as you thought to yourself for a minute. "I wouldn't mind maybe getting something from Wanmin Restaurant, since the food is good. Plus, we'd be helping out Xiangling and her father, too." you advised. "Sounds good to me, I'll give them a call. What do you want, before I call them?" he asked. You told him what you wanted, before telling him you were going upstairs to change into something more comfortable, leaving him with a note of what you wanted. You went upstairs and changed into one of your lighter sets of pajamas, since it was rather warm this evening. When you got downstairs, you saw that Cyno had changed into a tank top and a pair of sweatpants. He looked back at you and nodded, patting the space on the couch beside him as he spoke. "It should be here in about twenty minutes, so we can study until then." he said, causing you to nod. “Alright, let me see the study guide.” You said, holding out your hand.
About fifteen minutes later, the doorbell rang, and you went and got the food, paying the delivery driver at the door. “Thanks.” You said, walking back inside and closing the door. You set the food down on the table and walked back over to Cyno, sitting beside him once again on the couch. You took the study guide back from him and then continued reading over it. The words seemed to blur together as your mind wandered back to him. Cyno seemed to notice, and tugged at your sleeve. “Are you alright? You seem distracted. What’s on your mind?” He asked. You looked him up and down and then spoke. “You bending me over the couch or throwing me on my bed and fucking me.” You said, resting your face in your hands as your cheeks turned red. You looked over and saw that his face was completely red as he looked at you. Cyno cleared his throat before he spoke again. “If you insist.” He said, sweeping you up into his arms and carrying you to your room.
You held onto him for a moment, before you let out a yelp as he threw you on the bed. He jumped on the bed with you and pinned your wrists above your head, holding your legs down with his own. “You wanna go slow or fast tonight?” He asked. “Mmh~ I just want you inside of me.” You whispered. He reached for your shirt and then spoke. “May I?” He asked. You nodded softly, letting him take your shirt off. He unhooked your bra and took it off as well, his free hand moving down to slide off your pajama shorts and your underwear. Cyno then pulled back and undressed quickly, before pinning you down again. He let his hands wander down further, before he pressed two fingers against your slit. He slid them in slowly, his thumb drawing circles on your clit as he slowly stretched you out. “You’re soaking wet.” He mumbled, pinning your wrists above your head with one of his hands. He added another finger, watching as your eyes screwed shut and a soft sigh left your lips. “Is this the type of studying you wanted to do?” He asked, causing you to nod softly as your face reddened. His hand sped up as his fingers curled to hit that spot that made you moan loudly, your hips bucking up against his hand. “Cyno, m’gonna- hnn~!” Your body jolted as his thumb pressed against your clit harshly, your hips grinding against his fingers to get the sweet release you craved. You were so close, but whined pathetically when he pulled his fingers out.
“You thought that was it? No, get ready, because our lesson just started, sweetheart.” He mocked, wiping his hand on the bed sheets. Cyno hoisted your leg over his shoulder and pumped himself a few times, holding your ankle with one hand and his cock with the other. He pressed himself against your slit and dragged the tip against your clit, watching you shudder and gasp. “Look at you. Do I do this to you? Is this how I make you feel?” He asked, resting your leg on his shoulder before he reached forward and grabbed your pretty neck in his hand. He gently squeezed your throat, causing you to clench around nothing as he smirked. “Come on, you have to tell me if I do or not. You can’t learn if you don’t know what’s going on, can you?” He asked, causing you to nod softly. “You’re so far gone that you don’t know what I’m even saying, do you?” He asked, watching as you shook your head. “Tell me, do I make you feel good? Use your words, you’re smart.” He said, pressing his tip against your slit as he spoke. “Y-yes! Cyno please!” You cried out, becoming increasingly frustrated with each passing second that he wasn’t inside of you. “Please what? I need to know what you want, or I can’t do anything. I don’t want to hurt you, sweetheart.” He whispered, looking down at you. “P-please fuck me, need you s’bad!” You moaned, causing him to reach up and cup your face in his hand. “See, was that so hard to say?” He asked, watching as you glared up at him. He hummed softly as he spread your legs further and slotted his hips against yours, slowly slipping the tip past your entrance.
You sighed softly as he slowly slid into you, your hips jolting slightly as he pressed his thumb up against your clit again. You moaned as tears beaded at the corners of your eyes, your hands going up to grip the sheets beside your head. Your breath hitched and you let out a high pitched whine as he finally pressed his hips fully against yours, his spongy tip bumping up against your cervix as he leaned down and kissed you. You moaned loudly into the kiss, your hands flying up to tangle in his hair as he pulled away and then spoke. “You’re such a good girl, taking me in one go like this. You’ve been so good tonight, let me reward you.” He whispered, his red eyes staring you down as he watched you nod. He looked down at the slight outline of his cock that was visible just below your bellybutton, reaching down and pressing his hand against it. “You feel that? That’s me making you feel good.” He whispered, pulling his hips back before snapping them against yours, watching as your tears rolled down your cheeks and you yelped. “Poor thing, you want me to go fast tonight?” He asked, causing you to nod. Cyno grabbed your thighs and used them as leverage to grab onto you and use you as he pleased. “Archons, you feel so- Ngh~ so good. You’re squeezing me so- f-fuck- so good.” He cursed, reaching up and grabbing your neck again. He knew that his grip could leave bruises, but he tried not to be too rough with you. He slowly applied pressure as he squeezed your windpipe, the lack of oxygen serving to make your cunt squeeze him deliciously. “Shit- hnng~ is that what gets you going? You want me to choke you when I fuck you?” He asked, only receiving whines and sobs in return as tears streamed down your face from the onslaught of pleasure. He felt your velvety walls clench around him, squeezing him as the knot in your lower abdomen tightened. “Ahhn~ Cyno, mmnh~!” You were beyond coherent speech by now, and could only moan and sob from the overwhelming stimulation you were receiving. “You want me to fill you up? Fuck you full until it spills out?” He asked, causing you to nod, almost completely fucked out as you wrapped your leg around his waist. Cyno lowered your other leg and let you lock your ankles around his waist, leaning down as he kept rutting his hips against yours. He pressed his lips against yours and reached for your breasts, pinching and pulling at your nipples. Your moans came out half sob as he twitched inside of you, his tip grazing that spot deep inside of you that made your toes curl and your eyes roll back past their lids. You wailed his name as he pushed you over the edge, your cunt spasming and clenching around his cock as he groaned loudly and pressed his hips taut against yours. His eyes rolled back slightly as he came, thick ropes of cum spurting out and painting your velvety walls white. You clenched and squeezed around him, milking him for all he was worth. “Look at you, you’re so pretty. That’s it, milk me dry, sweetheart.” He mumbled, pressing his lips against yours once again as you let yourself slowly come down from your high.
After you had finally calmed down enough to understand what Cyno was saying, you laid your head against his chest and smiled sleepily. “Was that good? Do you need anything? Do you want me to clean you up?” He asked, his voice much softer than it was before. You looked up at him. “Yes to all of those.” You mumbled, letting him pick you up and carry you to the bathroom to clean you up. He grabbed a washcloth and turned on the bath faucet, still holding you against his chest as you kept your legs wrapped tightly around his waist. He slowly pulled out and set you down in the now warm water, climbing in with you. Cyno grabbed the soap and lathered his hands before slowly rubbing your sore muscles and massaging them. He gently splashed the water on your shoulders to wash the soap off. He then grabbed the shampoo and slowly massaged it into your hair and his, waiting for it to set for a minute before he told you to close your eyes. You felt the water wash over your head as he washed out the shampoo and moved on to the conditioner after washing his own hair. He slowly ran his fingers through your hair to get the conditioner through it, making sure not to pull on any knots when his fingers caught on them. He conditioned his own hair and then waited for a few more minutes, before telling you to lean back. Cyno washed the conditioner out of your hair and then pulled you back up to make sure he’d rinsed it completely out. He rinsed his own hair before leaning in and kissing your neck, causing you to shudder. “Cyno, not now, I’m still sensitive.” You whispered, looking back at him. “Mmm~ but I know you liked tonight.” He whispered back. “I’m going to get us some towels, wait here.” He mumbled, getting up and getting out of the bath. He went to the towel closet and grabbed a few of the soft towels, before walking back over to the bath and lifting you gently out of the water. He wrapped you up in one of the towels and carried you to the bed, setting you down before gently drying your hair with another towel. He then dried himself off and threw the towels in the laundry basket. He got under the covers with you and laid down beside you, holding you close to him. “Are you ok? I wasn’t too rough, was I?” He asked. You rolled over and looked at him. “Maybe a little rough, but it was just what I needed.” You whispered, your face flushing despite the vulgar activities you two had just done together mere minutes ago. “I’m just a little sensitive is all.” You reassured, snuggling up to him. You looked up at him tiredly before your eyes shot fully open. “Oh my goodness we forgot to study.” You gasped. “Relax, the exam is next week, we have time.” Cyno said. You nodded, relaxing in his arms again as you calmed down. Your eyes slipped closed as you drifted off to sleep, leaving him awake at your side. “Goodnight, (Y/N), sleep well.” He whispered, falling asleep soon after.

I'm so late, but happy new years everyone! May your year be filled with joy and laughter.
Sooo this came out way later then I wanted, but when does anything ever go as planned?? I ended up procrastinating and ended up learning asl lmao. But the closer dendro daddy is to his release, the more motivated I get~ I love him to much 😭 maybe even more then childe-
Enjoy~
Touch starved Alhaitham hcs
The reader is gender neutral.
Tumblr media
──・──・・✿ ・・──・──
-Alhaitham is t o u c h starved. I know you may be thinking "no, not alhaitham” but it's true! He didn't tell you during the early stages of your relationship, but you found out pretty quickly by yourself.
-Alhaitham practically melted underneath your touch the first time you two cuddled together, giving himself away. He tried to contain himself, but with the way your fingers tread through his hair, trailing down to his cheek and tracing his lips with your finger? He was putty in your hands <33
-He was secretly a little concerned that he would come off as clingy to you if you found out just how much he wanted your touch, but being touch starved yourself, how could you not love it?! When his strong arms were wrapped around you, you would melt (and he loves that he has the same effect on you) So you assured him that you wouldn't mind it. Much time is spent cuddling behind closed doors <3 he gives you time to breathe ofc, letting you have your space when needed, but you prefer the constant touch too. Wherever you two are in the house, if you aren't cuddling, you're holding hands.
-Although the title of being a scribe in the academia sounds important, it's only a simple job that most don’t actually know. So Alhaitham’s day usually goes by smoothly now that the dendro archon has gained her rightful ownership over the school. But your job is a lot different than his.
-Your job keeps you busy. You take commissions, similar to the work of the traveler, only you take real jobs. Sometimes it keeps you away from home for days! So be prepared to be cuddle bombed once you get home. He no longer attempts to hide his need for your touch- sometimes he follows you around, hand in yours while you guide him to wherever it is you're taking him, just so he can be with you
-He likes to hold you in his arms whenever you're washing dishes or cooking dinner. He gives your neck lil kisses too to distract you <3
-He loves it whenever you run your hands over his muscles, feeling him up and leaving him to crave more of you. You love his reaction; how his brain practically stops functioning altogether and his face turning pink, before melting into a puddle underneath you. He likes the way you leave a tingling feeling behind on his skin when you gently run your fingertips down his arms. Goodness y/n, are you trying to kill him? Honestly though, to see Alhaitham going crazy over your touch is a pleasurable sight.
-You guys annoy Kaveh - he complains whenever he catches you two being all lovey dovey. He's gotten used to it by now though, but it doesn't stop him from messing with Alhaitham about it.
-"Gosh, I wonder what the other scholars would think if they knew their scribe was such a softie." "I will punch you in the throat." "Oh you wanna catch these hands, scribe?"
-And you can imagine where it goes from there lol
-Alhaitham isn't very touchy in public, aside from hand holding. You two spare others and keep your affection behind closed doors, but that doesn't stop him from sneaking a kiss or two from you, or maybe even holding you in his lap whilst he reads in the library when no one else is around <3
-Speaking of hand holding, you two are often seen holding hands in public. If your hand is not in his, he will reach out and clasp his hand around your smaller one. He smiles a lot more too when you're around, as if your presence was all he needed to lift his spirits ( it is ❤). He just loves the feel of your warm hand in his.
-He doesn't want anything other than you. The world could end right now and he wouldn't care, as long as he had you in his arms, he would die a happy man.

you dont have to live in the same house as kaveh and alhaitham to know kaveh's morning routines of which he has several. sometimes he'll wake up early- be it a rare occassion- and peacefully make some coffee or review a few blueprint drafts then get ready for the day. others he's a bit more speedy, already dressed by the time he makes it into the kitchen for coffee and already having mehrak at his beck and call so they can get a move on.
but mostly, it consists of him oversleeping from hardly getting any sleep at all, rushing out of his room with his hands pushing the last of his red bobby pins in, yanking mehrak's handle with anything but an apology, and hoping that anything he needs for the day is already inside the sentient briefcase. he'd get a coffee somewhere at the akademia, or from some client if they're so kind, or even from you if you happen to run into him.
he never remembers everything though. most infamously, his house keys that are usually hanging by the door or somehow end up in alhaitham's possession. on those days, when you wake up in your own home devoid of all the chaos a morning with kaveh could include, you somehow always know when it's one of those days when he would be locked outside with no way in.
'alhaitham,' you call out to the grey-haired bookworm when you see him in passing through the akademia's halls on his way to work no doubt. he stops his strides and looks over his bare shoulder to see you coming over, hands full of material for your daily tasks.
'what is it?'
'do you have kaveh's keys today?' you ask quietly in the halls, making sure no one was within earshot since kaveh tried so adamantly to keep his living at alhaithams a secret.
alhaitham didn't verbally answer you, but he did pull out his own grey key revealing nothing attached to it. if he had it, normally they'd be stuck together by the keyrings. you nod and hum, waving to him before dismissing yourself since you didn't need to keep him from his work. only two options left:
kaveh forgot it at home or your gut was telling you wrong... for once.
you knew that your partner had a few meetings with clients today, but you weren't exactly privy to where those meetings would take place. whether it be their homes or somewhere like puspa cafe for the reason that it was surrounded by the noise of the public.
you decided to wait until later on in the afternoon to continue your investigation- he wouldn't notice until then anyways. besides, you had work to do today as well and he'd feel bad if he knew you spent your time running around looking for him instead of working. he didn't want you to fall behind on your tasks at his expense.
the said tasks at hand were fairly mundane and didn't pertain to anything of great stress. working for the akademia was stressful all on its own, but it could be worse. luckily, your relationship with alhaitham- the acting grand sage- was smooth enough that when you needed his approval for something he was quick to hear you out and then make a decision. you lightly chuckle at the memories of kaveh finding out he had rejected something from you for whatever reason and chewing his roommate's ear off later because of it.
kaveh could be high-strung about certain things- your duties and work for example- even when he didn't need to be. so you had advised him that any further pressing on why the acting grand sage told you 'no' (which shouldn't happen in kaveh's perfect world), wouldn't be necessary. the rejection made sense when you inquired further on it and all you would need to do was make some adjustments and try again.
it was the same type of drive you wish he'd have with his own stubborn clients. when something in a blueprint doesn't or can't work out due to literal safety and impossibility, you wish he'd just tell them so and just say no. though almost always, he caves. he's proud of his work, but you also know it weighs heavily on him as a 'genius architect'.
that overloaded, perfectionist mindset was exactly why he always forgets the small things not pertaining to work.
the middle of the day comes and just before it goes by with the tick of the clock hand, your name is called from afar. you could see your blonde worry-wart coming your way with mehrak close behind him. you stop in your strides in order for him to catch up with you and once he's within arm's distance he's slinging one of his over your shoulders to give you a small side-squeeze.
'running errands?' he asks before he's taking the books and files out of your arms and nods his head in the direction you were previously going. you learned long ago to not fight him on when he takes things from you so he could carry them in your stead. your arms had started going numb from the distance between your workspace and alhaitham's office where they were soon going to be delivered anyways.
'yup. documents and files for the acting grand sage to go over and review.'
'eugh,' kaveh shivers, 'can't you just refer to him by name? i doubt he cares if you drop the titles when you aren't even around him.'
'it's not very professional, kaveh. when im working i need to address him properly.'
'i dont see why. he wouldn't correct you if you just used his name.'
'he'd correct you though.'
'yeah to get under my skin!'
you laugh at the rise you start to get out of your lover before you lightly grabbed onto his bicep using it to tether you both together while his hands were occupied with your workload. the rest of the trip was filled with mindless, idle chatter- his favorite kind when with you. the moment you knocked on alhaitham's office door he had half a mind to stay out in the hall, but he couldn't just give your paperwork back to you. he had to see the duty of carrying your things for your through, even if that means getting a few rips from his grey-haired roommate.
'here are the documents i told you about before. they just need brief reviews and filing.'
'thank you,' alhaitham told you without so much as looking up to you. he knew kaveh was with you though. 'kaveh,' he started, 'y/n came to ask me if i had your keys this morning.'
kaveh basically dropped the paperwork on the desk since the acting grand sage decided to bring that up in the middle of the blond setting them down.
'they have a knack for suspecting when you have forgotten them,' alhaitham continued while kaveh distressingly looked to make sure no one was listening in while aggressively shushing him. alhaitham knew how to push his buttons.
still, kaveh was quick to search his person while you stood beside him amused. he pats his pockets and pants down, and even mehrak's digital expression twists, idly hovering nearby. acting anxious on his master's behalf. kaveh looks at you bewildered when his search comes up empty.
'how do you always-'
'i just do.' you answer him. 'dont worry, if the acting grand sage is kept busy you can stay at my home until he's back.'
'you're more than welcome to keep him,' the rip to kaveh went discarded as the blond just kissed your check in appreciation. 'please keep that out of my office,' alhaitham sighed. kaveh just sneered childishly at his previous underclassmen.
'consider that payback.'
'for what exactly?'
'oh, 'for what', he asks. for your little attempt to pester me just a moment ago!'
'oh, my apologies. i thought you hadn't heard me.'
'well, i did!'
'boys,' you intervene before they both get too worked up. 'i don't want to listen to you both squabble, so if that's all you need from me acting grand sage, i'll be going.'
'yes,' alhaitham sets his sights back to you, 'that'll be fine. thank you.' he thanks you again before you turn and start making your way out. kaveh makes it a point to grab your hand and swing your interlocked limbs dramatically on the way out, just to show the other man what for.
on other days, you're lucky enough for alhaitham to allow you to stay over with kaveh. he allows it for a couple of reasons: it keeps kaveh from hammering away on projects all night because he won't let you sleep by yourself and you have a tendency to placate the blond so the mornings can run much more smoothly than if it were just the two of them. also, you make coffee for both of them and any chance he gets to drink coffee he didn't have to go through the effort to brew himself gives him just a bit more time to himself and his books.
you were standing in the kitchen of their shared home in one of kaveh's open-back shirts. you had tried one on for fun once since they were so interestingly designed and found the open fabric was nice to sleep in since it didn't trap the stuffy sumeru night air.
as usual, alhaitham was the first awake and walking around. you shared sounds of morning humming before you give him his coffee and he meanders off somewhere to read. not long after, kaveh was waking up and stumbling bleary-eyed into the kitchen lured by the smell of coffee. you also hand him his mug of coffee with too much creamer in it and he receives it along with a peck to your lips.
'hmm,' he hums still groggy. 'your lips are warm.'
'well, i did drink come coffee myself. probably from that.'
'really? i didn't taste it.' he teases, wanting to try and 'taste' the coffee you drank before alhaitham shouted from the other room.
'take it out of my kitchen..!'
you spend the morning sharing kaveh's space and helping him get dressed and ready. he let you braid his hair and place his feather behind his ear. he helps you get dressed and flatten out any uncomfortable wrinkles in your clothes. along the morning quiet, he would place kisses anywhere he could. on your nape as he helps adjust your collar. your shoulder before you pull on your shirt after discarding his. on your wrist when you're braiding his hair messing it up in the process so you have to start over.
neither of you would talk much, but the messages conveyed through actions and small kisses are enough for an early day. you both hear alhaitham leave which lets kaveh loop his arm around your waist and swing you around playfully to his chest and hold you there for a bit before you both finally finish up.
just before kaveh leaves ahead of you since he doesn't let you open the door yourself, you snag the long, dark ends of his hair and effectively stop him. he whines before turning to you.
'aren't you forgetting something?' he racks his brain and even merak looks confused behind his shoulder with digitally upturned brows. he runs a quick mental checklist before a look of understanding crosses his face. he steps back over the threshold and the toes of his boots tap against yours. you weren't expecting the sudden proximity as you lean backward and almost stumble before his arm is wound around your back and his other hand gently guides your chin up.
behind the walls of the entrance and cracked open door, he kisses you sweetly. once on your lips, then the corners of your lips, then your cheeks, and then one more peck to your lips. he looks at you satisfied and only leans his chest away from you as you lift your arm.
'that was very flattering, but i meant these.' you both start laughing at the sight of his keys dangling between the two of you. his small keychain bearing witness to the overly affectionate kisses early in the morning.
'thanks, sweetheart,' he tells you before gently taking them and placing them safely in his pocket. he kisses you one more time on the forehead and finally starts to make his way out with you to start his day.
at least he didn't forget them today since you were there to remind him. he can only wait on pins and needles for the day he can do this in his own private home with you and not one where alhaitham ruins the mood all the time.

This is me finally moving my wip list from the old blog... slowly but surely, right? This time, I'm putting them in the order I hope to update them in, because I nearly deviated last time. And if I don't get these done by the time September rolls around, so help me, God.
UPDATED TAGLIST HERE

Alhaitham/Cyno - on the neck
The first time Alhaitham sees the scar is in Aaru village. While his mind had been understandably preoccupied with trying to thwart the sages’ scheme, seeing Cyno’s bare neck for the first time had been remarkable enough to wrench his attention away from their impending revolution.
It had been a particularly hot day, even for the desert, and he’d found himself sat on a stack of crates under the shade of the surrounding cliffs watching Dehya and Cyno spar. Technically he was meant to be reading through the scraps of research recovered from the Eleazar treatment hospital but with every clash of steel his eyes had flickered over to the two combatants.
Dehya is unsurprisingly ferocious, every swing of her blade is packed with power even in a simple training match. One blow from her would scatter most men across the ground in a bloody pulp. She is undoubtedly one of the most skilled sword-wielders that Alhaitham has ever seen.
As impressive as she is, it is her opponent who draws Alhaitham’s gaze.
If Dehya is strength personified then Cyno is speed. He darts across the sand in sharp, nimble movements that leave observers dizzy trying to keep track of him. The ex-General utilizes everything at his disposal; the stone cliff side, the shifting sand, even the position of the sun in the sky.
Cyno is a decidedly distracting figure even when simply standing in a room, so seeing him like this is roughly ten times worse for Alhaitham’s focus. His eyes hungrily track the display of deadly skill before him. He would accuse Cyno of showing off if he didn’t know any better.
And Alhaitham does know Cyno better now.
Several weeks spent sharing the same room and working together to save their country has done wonders for their relationship. The spear that was once aimed at Alhaitham’s throat now slashes through their shared enemies.
The camaraderie was a welcome change, Alhaitham is still trying to decide how he feels about the sizzling attraction that is becoming more ungovernable with each passing day he spends in the other man’s presence.
It happens at the end of one of the sparring matches. Dehya stretches her arms upwards towards the sun, sharing a quick word with Candace while Cyno walks over to the edge of the training ground for a drink.
From his perch in the shade Alhaitham takes advantage of the pause in the action to resume his reading. It’s hardly a pleasant topic, but it needs to be done and he’s one of the few people familiar with this style of shorthand note writing. The disagreeable subject matter was well worth the gleam of admiration in Cyno’s face when Alhaitham had told the group he could understand the writings.
His plan to continue reading is swiftly burnt to ashes when he spots Cyno untie his black choker to pour water onto his back. His long white hair is tied up in a simple ponytail so Alhaitham has a clear view of Cyno’s neck.
The skin is slightly pale after being covered for so long, leaving a noticeable band around his throat. Alhaitham spares a thought to wonder if it would feel smoother than the rest of Cyno’s neck, protected from the elements as it was.
But what catches his attention is the scar. It’s a jagged white thing that runs along the back of his neck, sitting a little below Cyno’s hairline. Even from a distance Alhaitham can see that whatever wound caused it struck deep.
It looks old.
An early case gone wrong?
An ambush from when Cyno was less experienced?
A price from some foolish action of youth?
Cyno’s body is a tapestry of stories and Alhaitham finds himself eager to read each one.
Still, the sight of that sharp white scar on an incredibly vulnerable area makes something stir in his stomach. If pressed he would label the feeling as worried relief but no-one does so he pushes it to the back of his mind.
Many things happen before Alhaitham sees the scar again. Four sages are deposed. They free their archon. Cyno is reinstated as General Mahamatra and Alhaitham finds himself as Acting Grand Sage. A position so undesired by him that only the thought of what someone else could do with the role keeps him staying in it.
Well, that and the chance to work side by side with his new General.
Not that Cyno will remain a tool of the sages’ council for long, not with the numerous drafts of governmental restructure proposals Alhaitham has written to cut Cyno loose from that particular shackle.
Alhaitham enjoys it while he can, eagerly watching the red flush creep across Cyno’s face when Alhaitham claims him so openly.
My General.
Of course the second Alhaitham is freed to return to his old role Cyno returns the favour; pressed up against the door to his office Alhaitham can only let out a groan as Cyno growls the words ‘my scribe’ in between feverish desperate kisses.
Between the touches and kisses and early mornings holding his General tight to stop him sneaking off early for work, Alhaitham finally gets to learn the stories that make up his lover.
A battle gone wrong.
An assassination attempt.
A three metre tall plant with an appetite for live prey that Tighnari had sworn was dormant.
One night as they lie in Alhaitham’s bed, though he thinks of it as their bed these days more often than not, Cyno slips off his choker and starts to speak. It’s a whispered tale of cruelty and ambition, the panicked chaos of being taken from home, the painful experiments all done to further man’s knowledge of the divine, and the brave man who had saved a young boy from it all.
Alhaitham listens silently. When the story comes to an end, he pulls him in close and presses a kiss to the jagged line. Cyno lets out a shuddery breath as Alhaitham worships his neck in gratitude.
In thanks for surviving and being here with him now.

Phases of Love
Summary: what are the phases and feelings that both of you went through together
Fandom: Genshin Impact
Character: Alhaitham
Genre: Romance + music reference
F reader! (Vahumana student)
Warnings: VERY LONG FROM WHAT I HAVE ANTICIPATED- HSHSHSHSVS, unedited.. I immediately post this-
(a/n: This song is so HEVEGEGWVVCA- this is my all-time favourite frrr! but after a while, I realised that.. it kinda sounds like what Alhaitham felt when he fell in love- idk but that's me- and the lyrics.. BRO- sgvbsvge.. so yeah- that came from this one SINGULAR song-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now playing: Something - The Beatles
Tumblr media
First Meeting
"Something in the way she moves, Attracts me like no other lover"
You two met at the Akademiya, where you being younger than him
At the time, you two are still scholars. Him as a Haravatat student, and you as a Vahumana student
And how you two met? both of you were assigned as partners for a research project together
Truth to be told, Alhaitham wasn't a fan of working with others
Since he tends to be alone at times and the others don't even dare to come to him, you have no choice but to approach him
He will always be found at the library, burying himself in stacks of books
"Hey.." you greet him, slightly nervous.. putting down your books across him
"Hello." he answered simply, not peeling his eyes a bit from the book he read, you tried again, "so, about the project.. I was hoping you could help me with this.." you push the papers towards him and he glance at it
"well, it's fairly simple.." he starts to explain it to you, to your surprise.. Alhaitham helps you..
Guess that's a false statement about him not wanting to help
Mid way of him explaining, something runs inside your head.. was he always this charismatic..?
Finally snapping out, you then focused on him.. to your enjoyment, he was actually fun to talk with
Fun as in, interesting, he also felt the same, he never talked this much to other people
You two kept going and talked about the project, until it's almost sunset
"Ah.. I have to leave now, thanks for your help" you gave him a smile and he nodded
Alhaitham can't help but freeze a little, your smile.. his chest swells up, making him overwhelmed a bit
Confused, you snapped your fingers in front of him, "uh.. Alhaitham, are you okay..?" you asked, he then got pulled out from his head
He gave you a quick nod, "I'm fine.. and no problem, anytime." he looks at you
You gave him a little wave before walking away
He stayed for a bit before he went back home, his thoughts were racing.. especially his heart..
".. What is this..? I.. want to know about it.."
Hangouts and Realisation
"Something in the way she woos me"
As time passed, not only meeting each other for projects, you two also met casually, like for lunch or have a talk
To his surprised, every minute that he spent with you is like a dream
Talking to people usually wastes his time and energy, but you're an exception
You two are there for each other, even when the two of you are in your thesis defense
It felt like he was completed, his world felt brighter after meeting you
Something about you makes him feel alive..
Your presence is what he's living for :)
As time passes, Alhaitham can't help but.. realised that he had fallen in love with you
He now tries to find ways for the two of you to meet more and more often. Just so he could see you
Even if it's just a small encounter at the hallways of the Akademiya or have lunch together
"Are you free tomorrow? If you are, wanna go to the park in the afternoon?"
Confession
"I don't want to leave her now. You know I believe and how"
One day, he decided to confessed to you
The feeling that swells in his chest is started to feel overwhelmed now
He plans out what he's gonna do, where and what to bring to you
Since you were fine with anything and okay with anything simple, he decided to confess while you two are out on a picnic on the hill near Sumeru City
Since you're free for today, he decided to do it today
When the time comes, he makes sure the scenery is beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect
When you arrived, he was already there waiting for you. Alhaitham had a warm smile on his face ((something he rarely does when seeing people))
The food was already on the blanket with some flowers and books to read.
You smiled at him, and he pat the space beside him, gesturing you to sat beside him, and you did
After having a small chat, he then finally confessed to you. "uhm.. I have something to tell you.." he said and you looked at him, curiosity filled your eyes.
"what is it, Haitham..?" you asked. He took a deep breath and look into your eyes, "..I like you.. really.. even.. it's.. more than that.." he said and she freezed in shock.
Although Alhaitham is prepared if you refused him, but he was caught off guard by your answer, "..I.. I feel the same.." you trailed off
That made him extremely happy, he then take your hand and kissed your palm gently. It made your heart leaped
You're now his girlfriend, and he's your boyfriend. Both of you blushed and spent the rest of the night and the rest of the days together with him
"I'm happy that you also feel the same.. I love you.."
Relationship & Escalation
"You're asking me will my love grow. I don't know, I don't know"
You two are living together now. Having a comfy home for only the two of you
Spending the time together in the midst of the two of you working at the Akademiya
Alhaitham really values his time with you, although you two are aware that you're loving together now
He loves to just hold you. The feel of you in his arms made him happy, and he felt replenished
Always loved it when you gave him small kisses. It makes his heart go fuzzy
That's for when he's your boyfriend, how about when he's now you're husband?? ;)
Ohoho, he became so affectionate after the day you two got married
Nothing much changed, other than he's more touchy and caring for you (in private, of course)
The reality that you're now his forever makes him happy
Time passes, and his love just keeps growing for you
Just seeing you doing your normal things can make him fall in love all over again
He can get dazed just by looking at her. You then looked back at him and he didn't hide the fact that he's staring at you in a loving way
You would chuckle and ask him why is he staring at you
He can't help but kissed your face and peck your lips
You really are the person that he wants to spend until both of you are up in the sky <3
"Nothing.. you're just so beautiful.. my love.."
(I'm back- I'm sorry for being gone for so long.. college hits hard and I always got writers block. I'm trying to write if I have the time.. :) Have a great day!)
✎ Alhaitham x Layla ✎ Study (They Mean Do Nothing) Date
Alhaitham had agreed to meet Layla for a study date to assist her with the structuring and drafting of her research paper. She had been unable to make any progress on her own, struggling with translating her thoughts into words in manner that was satisfactory. To help ease some of her stress, as well as squeeze in a bit of quality time together, the two of them set up a time to converse on the subject.
Of course, nothing ever got done on these little dates, much to Layla’s dismay. This time, however, was going to be different. For sure. Layla was going to stay entirely conscious and rely only on the help of Alhaitham for assistance. None of that “blessing of the stars” nonsense.
Or, that was the plan at least.
Layla always fell asleep shortly after Alhaitham would arrive. Unfortunately, because of her seeking outside assistance, the stars would deem her unworthy of their blessing, so she never woke up to find any of her projects magically done. In a way, she viewed that man as a setback to her academic future.
It was why that more than ever, Layla needed to remain awake. She was going to make considerable progress, whether she liked it or not, and Alhaitham was going to help make sure of it.
She organized what she could ahead of time, categorizing her notes into somewhat sensible groups and laying out disappointingly empty pieces of paper in front of her. Her eyes were weighing heavy with sleep deprivation, blankly staring at the page hoping for words to magically manifest before her. Unfortunately, that was not how writing worked, despite the endless wishes of countless drained Sumeru scholars echoing into the night. Layla could manage to write down a few words, usually constructing sentences that sounded as if they were strung together by a young child who had just found a dictionary. Before she would even be able to finish a paragraph, she would hate herself for the results of her nowhere near completed rough draft, then crumple up the page and toss it off to the side.
Alhaitham was greeted by the usual distressed Layla, surrounded by scrapped ideas and careless ink stains. Unlike a certain architect that constantly burdened him on a daily basis, Alhaitham was confident in Layla’s skills and value as a person. He always thought highly of her being a hard worker, perhaps too hard of a worker. Alhaitham at least knew how to pace himself, but Layla didn’t know when to allow herself a break.
Because of this, these little study dates of theirs were a cover-up for a larger plot of Alhaitham’s to allow for Layla to get the one thing she desperately needed; a well-deserved rest. Did it result in Layla hating herself for allowing herself to doze off? Perhaps, but it was a sacrifice that had to be made for the betterment of her health.
Alhaitham quietly made her aware of his presence, making sure as to not startle her out of her skin. He was greeted by her usual sleepy, half aware gaze, though her face lit up with a subconscious smile at the sight of him. Layla allowed for Alhaitham to take a seat next to her, practically taking up the entirety of the seat itself. There was just enough room for Layla to comfortably nestle herself between the arm of the chair and Alhaitham’s body.
He instructed for her to show him the notes that she had accumulated over time, pleasantly surprised with the amount of effort she managed to put into the organization. For someone who spent the majority of her life walking the boundary between the waking world and the dreaming stars, he was quite impressed at the coherent organization and reasoning of her gathered ideas.
Despite how much effort she had forced herself into preparing for their little date, Layla was fighting a losing battle from the start. Alhaitham’s presence was simply too much for her drained body, making the act of resisting sleep a near impossible task. A mere blink felt like agony to her, with each second of shut-eye causing Layla to crave longer and longer periods of restful darkness.
At this point in time, Layla’s accumulated hours of sleep likely totaled to less than ten for the entire week, and her lack of energy was causing her to fall further and further behind. To her sleepy, spaced-out mind, Alhaitham practically felt like a giant pillow, comforting the entirety of her body and drawing her in for a restful night’s sleep.
She wanted to fight it off. She knew she was better than this.
Alhaitham refused to show any mercy to her poor, drained soul. Without so much as bothering to brush over the unfinished work that lay before him, he lifted his arm to wrap around Layla’s body. He pulled her in as close to his body as he possibly could, careful as to not forcefully restrain her, but just enough for Layla to become engulfed with the strength of his body.
Layla couldn’t help but allow herself to relax under the gentle pressure of Alhaitham’s hold. She leaned her head against his chest, sinking into the muscle mass that she now claimed as her pillow. His steady heartbeat soothed Layla, who was already in a weak position from neglecting her sleep schedule for such a long time. Sleep was quickly beginning to conquer her.
A few minutes wouldn’t hurt, she would think to herself. Surely, after hours of staring at what felt like the same combination of five different constellation related words, she deserved a brief moment of shut-eye to refresh herself, right?
Alhaitham knew that he was successful in getting to her. He shifted his body ever so slightly so that Layla would be able to fall into him and drift off to sleep without the effort of keeping herself upright. Within moments, she was out cold for what he assumed was the first time all week.
With Layla now asleep, Alhaitham tightened his grip on her body ever so slightly so that her workaholic alter ego would be unable to wake and write the entire course of an essay in the span of an hour. He imagined that any attempts by her to break free would be met with such great resistance from Alhaitham that she would deem the effort not worth it and simply pass out in his arms once more. Strangely enough, this never once happened, as Layla peacefully slept through the entire evening. No disturbances, no restlessness, nothing.
It was a simple, yet effective plan for him to coax his beloved into taking care of herself. Alhaitham often wondered if Layla ever caught on, as she was no easy woman to fool herself. Perhaps she simply allowed him to constantly do this, yet refused to admit that she knew all along.
Regardless, it also provided Alhaitham with an excuse to hold her so close to himself, although, he wasn’t entirely immune to his own devious scheme. He would have nothing to occupy himself with for the duration of their “study session,” as he would be unable to move without the fear of disturbing Layla’s rare period of uninterrupted slumber. Plus, having her so close was quite comforting to him.
Compared to Alhaitham, Layla was quite small, yet his heart was struck in a certain way by gently holding her frail body ever so close. It was like cradling a baby bird, filling his normally lone heart with a happiness that could only be explained with the definition of love. Eventually, with a gentle smile on his face, Alhaitham would too, drift off to sleep.
Nothing would be accomplished that evening. No discussion, drafting, anything that could make as much as an ounce of progress. In fact, not a single word was ever exchanged between Alhaitham and Layla, but the two had the mutual understanding to where words need not be thrown about.
GENSHIN MEN & TAKING CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU'RE SICK .
characters. xiao zhongli diluc kaeya childe alhaitham neuvillette x gn!reader genre. romantic fluff. an. look at the cuties taking care of u :3 | please reblog!! im getting back into writing and reblogs with tags and comments will make me want to write more :D
xiao
when you're sick, he immediately forces you to get back into bed, not moving a muscle. xiao does everything, from making you food to going out to run errands and even enduring that horrible small talk he had to go through because he hasn't interacted with the stall owner in a while. he squeezes your hands to make sure that you know that he's there! xiao won't let anything happen to you. make sure that you're all wrapped up and cuddly when he gets home, because he's sure to shower you with physical affection – even if that's something that he doesn't do very often.
zhongli
zhongli makes sure to brew his finest tea for you, as well as booking that speedy consultation with the local pharmacist. trust that with all his years of wisdom and knowledge, zhongli makes sure to pick the best traditional medicine for you: a basket of ground violetgrass and qingxins mixed with honey sometimes does the trick. he watches your poor frame tremble, and wishes that he were gifted the powers of health instead.
diluc
upon hearing that you're sick, diluc immediately calls for adelinde to make something for you – a sweet broth, that has cured all things health-related since his childhood. it's a one-pot wonder, and adelinde has to politely kick him out of the kitchen before he says too much and ruins her cooking. diluc doesn't care about getting germs, and still makes sure that you're close to him. he holds you close, and maybe that wishful thinking of you passing your germs to him will make everything better.
kaeya
trust that when you first cough, he immediately goes to albedo to ask for a cure and a medication – albedo has to remind him that he's an alchemist, not a pharmacist – and kaeya sighs and turns to his stash of medication instead. he definitely makes sure to give you extra attention during this period (extra attention? what's that, when you've always been spoilt by your boyfriend?) and gets you all the different comfort foods and all the things you want and need – kaeya is the boyfriend to be at your side, day and night, when you're sick.
childe
makes his mom's chicken noodle soup for you! it's packed with veggies you love and a hearty broth that is just perfect for your sinuses. childe definitely still wants to cuddle you, even though you're a mess ... as much as you try to push him away, he always comes back with more – you've given up trying to keep distance at this point. it's really only a matter of time now before he gets sick because of you. you make sure to do the same for him when he's sick, though ... so that's a good two and a half weeks spent together.
alhaitham
he makes you rest your head on his lap, while he reads to you –claiming that you need as much rest as you can. you're not going to complain, though ... it's comfortable, it's homely, and alhaitham is definitely being very sweet. just like the sweet and comforting honey lemon tea he just brewed for you. alhaitham definitely makes sure that you take all your medications on time, because prolonging this bout of illness won't do for anyone.
neuvillette
the first time neuvillette found out that you were sick, he didn't exactly understand what to do. a little clueless, even – dragons, or rather non-humans, just don't get sick like you did. nevertheless, after some advice from a few human friends, neuvillette got to work. his contacts offered speedy services ... imagine getting a discount at the city's clinic, as well as a basket full of fresh vegetables from the melusines! it makes you smile a little on the inside, knowing that neuvillette cares about you so much. hehe.
The Makings of a Mess
Fandom: Genshin Impact Characters: Kaveh, Minor Alhaitahm, still Kavetham Warnings: Violence, Suicide threat/reference, Non-consensual kissing Summary: Mehrak comes to him on day six. No, wait, that's not true. Mehrak comes on day two; it only feels like it's been six days. Alhaitham isn't sure why time has tripled in Kaveh's absence. It never has before. Ah, but then, Kaveh's not just absent, is he? He's missing.
5.8k // AO3 // Masterlist
Kaveh doesn't know when the best years of his life happened.
Was it when he was a child, young and carefree and careless enough to kill his father?
Or was it when he was freshly graduated, hopeful to bring art into an increasingly artless climate?
Or perhaps it was building the Palace of Alcazarzary, despite the fact that it left him broke and homeless.
The weeks following that certainly did not count. Not when he spent every morning trying to gain control over his new Vision and every night deliriously drunk.
It was only Alhaitham that provided him solace in that time — everyone else, save for Lambad, thought he was just living the life accompanied by his title. He's never been sure just how Alhaitham saw through his ruse. But since moving in together, it's been….
Well. It hasn't been great but it hasn't been terrible, either. Alhaitham gives him free reign of the house, whether to live or to decorate, and while his beer seems to 'mysteriously' disappear, other drinks are left to take its place. Not all are alcoholic, and Kaveh's half sure it's meant as a discouragement to drinking. So he makes a promise to himself — no more drinking, save for those nights he's out with Cyno and Tighnari.
He's actually grateful for the chance to sober up when a cup of sake is set in front of him.
"It's imported," says the man — Aizen? Aziz? Something with an 'A' and a 'Z' — before he downs his own cup. "Straight from Inazuma. You should try it." The man gives a cruel grin.
"Mm," hums Kaveh. "I wish I could. But my hands are tied at the moment."
At this, Azia guffaws. "See?" he says, cuffing Kaveh on the shoulder. "I knew it was a good idea to let him keep his Vision. He's a riot!"
Kaveh grits his teeth as he's jostled. He does not want any of these men touching any part of him. Not unless it's to let him go.
Because his hands are tied, not just by the promise — they've been wrenched behind his back and secured with the roughest rope known to man. He wasn't trying to be funny, but maybe Cyno has rubbed off on him without his noticing.
"Here you go, Little Light." Aizik(that will be his name from now on, Kaveh decides) stands and moves to Kaveh's side of the table. One of his hands gingerly picks up the clay cup, the other yanks Kaveh's head back with a fistful of hair. Kaveh cries out, Aizik dumps the sake into his open mouth.
He gasps and it floods his airway.
His scalp burns as he jerks forward. His chest heaves, he coughs and gags. The sake spills from his mouth and nose, pooling on the surface of the table.
"Hey!" Aizik shouts. His hand slams against Kaveh's cheek, splitting the skin where his heavy ring hit. "Do you have any idea how expensive that shit is?"
A rage the likes of which Kaveh has never before felt blooms alongside the blood on his tongue.
He hears one of the other Eremites gulp.
"Hey, boss?" a woman stutters. "Maybe, uh, maybe we should take his Vision."
"Pah!" Aizik waves her off. "We took his weapon already. What's he gonna do? Besides," he sinks onto the bench across from Kaveh, "have you seen that little Rtawahist girl? She can barely swing a sword!"
Wait a damn minute–
Is he talking about Layla?
Now that makes Kaveh's blood begin to boil. Layla may not be the strongest physically, but she's a bright student and dependable ally! The number of times she's saved his life with her quick shielding is immeasurable. He glares at Aizik, letting his rage simmer between them.
Aizik bursts into laughter. "Got a problem, Little Light?" he asks.
"Don't badmouth her!" Kaveh hisses.
Aizik smirks. "Touchy subject, huh? She your little girlfriend? Maybe we ought to go collect her, too."
Kaveh lurches forward as far as the table allows. "Don't you touch her!"
Aizik smiles and forces him back down. He waves his hand to the crowd, and two come forward to tie Kaveh to the bench.
"Don't you worry your pretty little head," Aizik says. "We're not looking for your sidepiece." He takes Kaveh's chin and tilts his head back and forth, studying everything from his red eyes to the blood dripping down his cheek.
"You know," Aizik says, "you'd make a killing in a whorehouse. Everyone would line up for a piece o' you. We could sell you to the highest bidder." He drops his hand back to the jug of sake. "But I have a better idea.
"You're worth a pretty penny on your own, but to the right person, you'd be worth the world, I bet."
Kaveh raises a brow. "And who do you suggest would pay the world for me?"
"You don't know?" Aizik pours himself another cup of sake, this time sipping at it. "We catch you together all the time."
Tighnari or Cyno. It has to be one of them.
"And from the way he looks at you, it's clear just how much you mean to him."
….wait. Tighnari and Cyno are together. And, as much as Kaveh would love to be included in their lives, he knows that is not the case. He frowns at Aizik. "There's no one who looks at me like that."
"He does." Aizik shrugs. "Looks at ya like your worth… oh, say, five million mora? Guess we'll see if he really does value you that much."
Kaveh's mouth drops open. "Five million?!" There is not a single soul in Teyvat who would consider him so highly.
Then again, kidnappers don't really care for that, do they? All they see when they look at people is a pile of mora.
Kaveh wants to slam his head into the table, but his chest has been secured to the backrest of his bench. "You're an idiot," he says instead. "There's no one in Sumeru that even has that kind of money!"
Except for Dori, of course. But Kaveh would much rather be sold to the whorehouse than end up in more debt to her.
"Maybe not individually," Aizik agrees, "but he has access to all of Sumeru's finances. I'm sure he could figure it out."
Someone who has access to all of Sumeru's finances? The only people with that kind of authority are the sages. And considering that most of the sages are still exiled or injured….
"You don't mean Alhaitham?!"
Aizik's smile widens.
Ooooooooh, Kaveh is screwed. Literally, considering the whorehouse is more likely to pay his ransom than Alhaitham.
Kaveh sighs. "You're making a mistake. Alhaitham doesn't like me like… that."
ʚїɞ
Mehrak comes to him on day six.
No, wait, that's not true. Mehrak comes on day two; it only feels like it's been six days. Alhaitham isn't sure why time has tripled in Kaveh's absence. It never has before.
Ah, but then, Kaveh's not just absent, is he?
He's missing.
Alhaitham paces the space between their sofas. One for Kaveh, the other for him.
It was a plain box. It didn't have an address. It didn't even have a name. He must have skipped over it several times.
Because Kaveh was missing.
It was a regular outing. Kaveh, Cyno, Tighnari. At Lambad's. Alhaitham passed because of the book he wanted to read. (The unfinished book is now a pile of ashes in his fireplace.)
Kaveh got very drunk that night. He was barely awake and stumbled every time he tried to move. That's what Lambad said, anyway. It's why he stepped out to send someone for Alhaitham. Kaveh was gone by the time he came back.
As if that wasn't worrying enough, Cyno revealed that Kaveh was only slightly tipsy when he left ten minutes earlier.
So Kaveh was not drunk.
He had been drugged.
ʚїɞ
Kaveh tilts his head as far back as it can go, but Aizik is relentless. He grabs a fistful of Kaveh's hair and forces their lips together. Sake floods his tongue, carried to him by Aizik's mouth and followed by his tongue. A hand pinches his nose, and Kaveh has no choice but to swallow the alcohol to breathe.
Aizik leans back, licking his lips. "Told you it was good. Let me know if you want more." Kaveh thinks he winks, but it's hard to tell behind the ribbon that covers his eyes.
Kaveh wrinkles his nose. "Let me take the whole thing back to Lambad. I'm sure he'd cut a deal with you."
Aizik waves his hand. "Too slow. Kind of like your roomie. It's been, what, a day since we dropped off the ransom note?" He looks around for confirmation.
"Even if," Kaveh begins, "and that's a very big if, Alhaitham did decide to pay, he'd need more than a day to gather the funds. Even the Grand Sage has limits."
"Right," Aizik nods, "like your newly freed god." He plants his chin in his hand. "You have a point, Little Light. We gave him three days. I thought he'd be out looking for you by now, but he hasn't left his house."
Kaveh frowns, tilting his head to the side. That's doesn't sound quite right; if his timing is correct, it's a weekday. Alhaitham should be in his office at the Akademiya.
But then, Kaveh was out for who knows how long. "What day is it?" he asks, just to be sure.
Aizik hums. "Tuesday?" he says after some deliberation. "Yeah, Tuesday."
Kaveh raises a brow in confusion. "He should be at work."
"Nope." Aizik shakes his head. "Hasn't left since we took you.
"He hasn't? But how would you…. Wait, have you been spying on us?!"
"We were spying on the Grand Sage." Aizik swirls the jug of sake around before pouring another cup. "Imagine our surprise when we saw that the Light of Kshrewar shared a life with him.
"Our original plan was to nab the Grand Sage and demand payment from Kusanali. But you know, dealing with humans is much safer than dealing with gods. Gods can kill ya just by looking at you funny."
Kaveh, while he has never personally met Lord Kusanali, knows she is not so cruel. She would let Cyno and his unwavering morals deal with apprehending any criminals, then pass judgment based on evidence and give a fair punishment.
"I don't think you know your Archon very well," Kaveh says.
Aizik shrugs.
Kaveh sighs. How did he get into this? He remembers Cyno escorting Tighnari from the bar, both lightly drunk. And while Kaveh had a bit of a buzz, it wasn't enough to pass out on the way home. His memories turn to fuzz, then, at the juncture of one drink and another. When he woke, he was already bound.
He tests the bonds now, wrists scraping against rope. They were tightened when his torso was bound. No wiggling out.
Aizik stands, lightly tapping Kaveh's cheek. "That's enough chit-chat for now. It's late, and we need some rest."
He motions for the Eremites to leave. Two of them stand back; probable guards appointmented in some way Kaveh didn't catch. "Boss," says the one with long hair, "shouldn't we move him to the steel cage? His Vision is Dendro…"
"Bah!" Aizik smacks him over the back. "You worried about the bench? Thing's wood, not grass. That tree's been dead for ten years! He won't be causing any trouble."
Both guards relax. Aizik begins to leave.
"Wait!" Kaveh shouts. "You're going to leave me tied up? I can't sleep like this!"
"Aww." Aizik walks back over to him and leans down. "If you want," he says, sneaking a hand down the back of Kaveh's shirt, "you can come to bed with me. Give ya a taste of life in the brothel."
Kaveh shivers at the touch, disgust rolling through his stomach. He grits his teeth against the bile that threatens to rise in his throat.
Aizik leans closer until he can shove his tongue into Kaveh's mouth.
Kaveh tries to stop himself. He really, truly does.
He bites. Hard. Hard enough to taste copper from blood that isn't his.
"Son of a bitch!" Aizik falls backwards, landing on his ass. Kaveh spits the blood to the floor between his legs.
Aizik rises and backhands Kaveh. His ring cuts another gash on his cheek. Both of his hands squeeze Kaveh's throat. "Think you're clever?" he seethes.
Kaveh's jaw drops, trying to breathe.
His vision darkens.
He's on the edge of unconscious when the hands pull away. He gasps, letting air fill his lungs. His head is still fuzzy, still unable to process the movement beside him.
It clears at the thunk! of a dagger.
One that's dangerously close to his hand.
He blinks up at Aizik, holding his right hand by the wrist.
Aizik forces his palm flat against the table.
He drives the dagger through the middle.
Kaveh screams.
ʚїɞ
Cyno paces Alhaitham's office.
It's very distracting.
Not that he's been able to focus in the last three days.
"I know you two are stressed," Lord Kusanali begins, "but you must rest. Kaveh cannot be rescued if you are unable to fight."
"We will find him," Alhaitham says, "and we will be well enough to take him back. Trust me." He leans his elbows on his desk, hands clasped before his face. There's a darkness in his expression that Lord Kusanali also finds in Cyno's face.
She sighs. "This is a personal case for both of you. Just… try not to take things too far."
"I do not let personal matters cloud my judgement." Cyno hisses for perhaps the fifth time.
Lord Kusanali doesn't bother looking to Alhaitham. He cannot make such a promise. His fingers burn already with the desire to slit the throats of whoever conspired against him.
The ransom note sits on his desk.
5 million, 3 days written on a scrap of paper, the handwriting rough and unpolished. The other side is a crudely drawn map with an 'X' at the dropoff point.
Alhaitham doesn't have the mora. Nor does he plan to prepare it. He has Cyno. He has the matra. He has his own blade.
And he plans to put them all to good use.
ʚїɞ
The blood is sticky, even after it dries.
Kaveh thought blood flaked if it wasn't absorbed. But his fingers stick to the table.
Or perhaps he just can't lift them.
He's not sure if that's a physical limit or a mental one. The dagger still pins his hand to the table, after all.
Aizik didn't bother to remove it when he left. And that was hours ago. Maybe days? Time has blurred together, marked only by the pain in his hand. (A deep throbbing at this point.)
His head spins. When did he eat last? When was he given any water? His stomach turns, far past the point of grumbling for food. He's not sure he'd be able to keep any down, anyway.
His own blood spreads across the table, puddled where spit-up sake once was.
Gods, is he glad he's ambidextrous. He won't be able to use his right hand to work for quite a while. Maybe never, if he doesn't get medical attention soon.
He won't get it from these mercanaries. He knows that much.
Kaveh finally tilts his head to the door of the chamber. Two guards — different than the ones left before — regard him with cold gazes before turning their backs to him.
What kind of idiot leaves a hostage in a room with an open doorway?
The same kind of idiot that ties a Vision bearer to the element of their Vision.
The wood is dead.
The Dendro inside it isn't.
Kaveh has felt it — small pulses of energy reacting to his Vision — since the moment he woke. It's just a little harder to manipulate than a live tree.
Every moment not spent in agonizing pain was focused on gathering that energy into his fingertips. His blood seeping into the wood helped, actually, to share his own energy with it. He’s managed to create a small blade in his left hand, no bigger than the dagger buried in his right.
The ropes slacken. Slowly, gently, he presses his left hand to the bottom of the table under his right. The wood dissolves, freeing his hand in a more silent, less painful way than pulling the dagger free. It’s still stuck through his palm, rendering his hand useless.
Kaveh wishes now more than ever he had learned to fight with a sword. Alhaitham has often offered, after sparring sessions that left them both winded and bruised, but he’s always declined. His claymore is enough, he’d said, and hits plenty hard.
Just a shame it takes two hands to wield.
Kaveh grabs the handle of the dagger and begins to force his own power into it. It doesn't take much until the dagger is his and he's able to dismiss it to the same space he keeps Mehrak and his claymore.
Blood drips from his hand. He can bend his fingers, but only a tiny bit. His grip is completely gone.
He glances at the door. Both guards ignore him.
His gaze travels the room. It's a plain space, no furniture save for the table and benches, and dimly lit by candles. There are, unfortunately, no windows. He'd been hoping to sneak out, but he has no option except to fight.
He summons the metal dagger and uses it to cut strips from his shirt. He wraps the strips around his right hand, using them to secure the dagger to it as well. Grip won't be a problem if the weapon is tied to him.
He ties the point opposite of his thumb. He doesn't want to give them a chance to use it against him.
He carefully slides the bench back. It makes a single scrape on the ground.
That's enough for one of the guards to turn.
Kaveh jumps over the table and punches him in the face before he can speak. Then he holds the metal blade to his throat.
"Not a word," he says to the other one, pointing his wooden knife at her. "Get the rope."
She lifts her spear and calls for backup.
Kaveh curses. He shoves the other guard at her. They both fall to the ground.
But there are footsteps ringing in the distance, coming from her direction.
Kaveh runs the other way. Eremites surge from every doorway he passes.
He loses count of how many he has to stab.
He only hopes they're not dead.
Kaveh only stops when he slams into a behemoth of a man.
The man lifts Kaveh by his shirt and slams him into the ground. He coughs, spittle flying into the air. There is going to be a huge bruise on his back tomorrow.
Or maybe he won't be covered in bruises tomorrow. Maybe he'll be dead long before then.
The man pins Kaveh with a knee on his chest and a hand on his throat. Kaveh stabs the man's arm with both blades. He only grunts.
Kaveh stabs again. And again. "Let go!" he shouts. "I don't want to kill you!"
"Killing is your only option," says a voice that makes Kaveh's skin crawl. Aizik leans over and pats the man's shoulder. "This one's more scared of me than he is death." He lowers the collar of the man's shirt to reveal a chest full of branding scars.
The man lifts Kaveh by the neck and carries him to a dining hall. A fire blazes against one wall.
Kaveh squirms as the remains of his shirt are ripped away.
"Now," Aizik says, pulling an iron poker from between the burning logs, "I don't have that particular seal here. But this will work just as well."
He jams the pointed red tip into Kaveh's side.
It burns.
Gods it burns!
It's the only thing he feels, the heat spreading up his ribs. He tries to scream, he tries to plead, but his lungs freeze. The best he can manage is a choked cry.
Aizik twists the poker deeper before he removes it. Kaveh hangs limp in the other man's arms. The scent of burning flesh rises to his nose, and it takes more than a moment to recognize it as his.
Aizik stabs his other side.
Somehow, that is worse.
Kaveh gasps when Aizik twists the poker again and throws it back into the fire.
Kaveh can't think. He can't even breathe.
"Come on," Aizik says to the man restraining him. "We'll put him in a proper cell this time. I'll teach him the same things I taught you."
No, Kaveh's addled mind objects. I won't go. The man shifts him, forces him to his feet with one hand around the back of his neck. I won't go!
His claymore appears between his captor's shoulder and elbow. The arm falls to the ground.
Kaveh falls with it. He rips the hand from his throat and dismisses the dagger.
He picks up his claymore, ignoring the pain in his back, his hand, his hips. Then he begins to swing.
Left.
Aizik shouts something.
Right.
He doesn't hear.
Left.
He doesn't see.
Down.
The sun warms his face.
He's out. He got out! He can run, now, run for help—
His feet slip in sand. He falls on his face.
He might as well have never felt hope with how quick it dissipates into the dry desert air.
He has no idea where he is.
He will never make it home.
He leans against his claymore to stand again. His makeshift bandages have fallen from his right hand; his blood makes it difficult to grip. Aizik and his Eremites exit a fortress ruin. Kaveh turns, claymore angled between them.
There are ten, fifteen of them? How is he going to fight?
Two arrows sink into his left arm. His claymore falls.
He grips his left shoulder with his right hand.
"Come now, Little Light," Aizik says. He has a sword in either hand, both leaning against his shoulders. "You can't survive on your own. You don't even know where the closest town is. Come back. I'll even let you join us!" Aizik twirls the blades around. "We have a few sudden openings in our ranks. Oh, but," he smiles with too much teeth, "I will have to punish you for creating them."
Fuck. Fuck! Did he– how many–
Kaveh's hands begin to shake. He shakes his head to distract from them. "I'm not going back."
"You are," Aizik says, "you don't have a choice." He eyes the arrows in Kaveh's arm. "You can't even hold your weapon."
Kaveh frowns.
He can't hold the claymore, true. But it is not his only weapon. He summons the dagger to his right hand.
Aizik laughs. "You can't fight us off with that!" He gestures to the roof of the ruins with his head. Lined across the top are a row of archers, crossbows aimed lazily for Kaveh.
Aizik is right. He can't fight.
But he can bargain.
He holds the point of the dagger to his own throat.
Aizik raises a brow. "What do ya think you'll achieve with that?" he asks. "We get the money either way."
Kaveh grits his teeth before he shouts. "Do you know who I am? Do you know who I know?" His chest heaves; he has to breathe before he can continue. "My best friends are the Head Forest Watcher of the Avidya Forest. The Acting Grand Sage. The General Mahamatra. What do you think happens if I die under your custody?"
He laughs, wild and frantic and half delirious. "It won't end well for you. They will hunt you down until your very last breath. It won't take long, either. Cyno's a master hunter. He will find you."
Kaveh presses the knife into his skin until a thin line of blood trickles down his neck. "Give me food and water, and then let me go. I won't say a word. I'll forget this ever happened."
It's a reach. Gods, is it a reach. But he is not scared if this is how he dies.
He's only scared of what they will do to him after.
Aizik stares. For a long, torturous moment, he stares without saying anything. Then he smirks.
"Let them try."
Aizik lifts a sword from his shoulder to point to the sky. The archers ready their crossbows, hone their aim.
Kaveh shuts his eyes to offer one final, silent prayer.
The result will be the same either way, a voice whispers, soft and sweet inside his head. Please, please, don't do this to yourself.
Yes, Kaveh agrees. Kaveh will die, right here and right now.
But there will be no more debt. There will be no debt, there will be no more drinking himself into a stupor, there will be no more annoying roommates.
Gods, if Alhaitham could see him now. Would he laugh? Would he mourn? Would he try to stop Kaveh, place himself between Kaveh and the thing that threatens his life?
Alhaitham is not here.
Kaveh will die, and his blood will spill across these sands, and his body will be carted off to the depths of the desert, and it will be used to feed vultures and coyotes and foxes.
And he will not give these mercenaries the satisfaction of killing him.
The trickle turns into a flow.
"You idiot!" Kaveh hears. He opens his eyes to green-tipped arrows flying above his head. The archers on the fortress drop their crossbows as their hands are pierced.
The relief is sudden; it takes every ounce of restraint Kaveh has to not collapse.
Aizik's eyes widen. "Run!" he calls out. "Retreat!"
The mercenaries scatter. Some return to the fortress, likely to run from another exit. Others go around, only to run into waiting matra.
Aizik scans the dunes around them — he's been completely surrounded.
Kaveh drops his hand from his throat.
Aizik raises both of his and throws his swords straight at Kaveh.
He has no strength to block or dodge.
He doesn't need it.
A flash of purple fills his vision, and metal clashes against metal as the swords are knocked away. An impressive figure stands before Kaveh, his element dancing along his spear.
If Tighnari came for him, Cyno did as well.
This is when Kaveh allows himself to fall. His knees finally falter, and he crumples to the ground. Cyno spares him half a second — far more than the stoic general would allow any unknown stranger — before he shouts to someone behind them. "Get him out of here!"
Cyno waits until there are hands on Kaveh's waist to follow Aizik into the ruins.
Kaveh is thrown unceremoniously over someone's shoulder. He gasps as something hard and hot digs into the burn on his stomach.
"Wait," he chokes out, "please, stop. It hurts."
The person slows, but doesn't stop. Kaveh grips at the cape swinging from their other shoulder…
Wait…
Wait! He knows that stupid fucking cape!
"Alhaitham?" he asks. Alhaitham turns his head to meet his gaze from the corner of his eye.
Kaveh blinks away tears. He starts laughing.
His vision blanks.
The woman above him is beautiful. She has rich dark skin that shines in the candlelight. Her hair is in tight curls, even darker than her skin. Her forehead is adorned with a silver-gold circlet, a crescent moon rising from the back of her head.
And her eyes — her eyes! One a deep blue, the other the color of amber. They are, perhaps, the most unique eyes Kaveh has ever seen.
Kaveh does not know who this woman is, but if he had to guess? One of those terrifyingly beautiful death gods Celestia sends to ease a soul's passing.
She must be able to read minds, because her mismatched eyes crinkle in a smile. "I am no god," she says, smoothing the hair from his forehead, "and you are not dead. Not even close."
He doesn't feel quite alive, though. Just breathing sends tremors of pain through his chest.
"Then who-?" he tries, but his voice rasps from his throat like it's filled with broken glass.
"Ah-ah," the woman says. She helps him sit and brings a glass of water to his lips.
Kaveh hisses at the pressure of her hand on his back. She whispers apologies.
"Well," he asks as she leans him to sit up against the pillows, "where am I?"
"Aaru Village," she answers. She puts a hand on her chest. "My name is Candace. I'm the guardian of this village."
"And what-what happened?"
He asks like he needs to be told. Like it isn't seared into his memory. Like the scars won't last forever. Like his body doesn't ache with the memory of pain.
Candace purses her lips before she answers. "Alhaitham brought you here after you passed out."
Alhaitham? Wait, no, that's right. It's the last thing he remembers, being carried off while thrown over Alhaitham's shoulder.
"How long has it been?" Kaveh asks.
"A day and a half. Your experience with the mercenaries must have worn you out." Candace sets another glass of water on the table beside the bed.
"You could say that." He lifts a hand to the bandages wrapped around his throat. Then he studies the ones around his right hand. He curls a finger, hissing when pain shoots up his arm. "How bad was the damage?"
Candace frowns. "We don't have any healers here, nor do we have proper doctors. I patched you up while Alhaitham went to fetch one. The doctor was able to repair most of the damage, but there will be some lasting effects."
Ah. Great. Just what every artist wants to have: a permanent hand injury.
That's alright. It's okay. He's always drawn better with his left hand anyway. His right hand was always better for fighting. Kaveh isn't a bit close to panic.
(He really hopes Candace can't read minds.)
Candace holds his hand between hers. They blur behind a rush of tears.
"What about the mercenaries?" he asks. "What happened to them?"
At this, Candace gives a small smile. "Cyno is relentless. He found every single one that tried to escape." She rubs her thumb over his knuckles. "They won't be able to hurt you again."
Join us! We have a few sudden openings in our ranks.
"And what of the dead?"
She hesitates. She hesitates, and Kaveh's heart plummets.
"Candace," says a voice by the door. Alhaitham stands, arms folded across his chest as he leans against the doorframe. He is way too relaxed for someone who looked half-panicked a day ago.
Candace stares, and when did Alhaitham ever make friends? She nods and stands, leaving at some sort of silent request that Kaveh didn't think anyone else could read from Alhaitham.
Alhaitham takes her chair by his bed. Kaveh's heart pounds.
"You came for me," he struggles to say. He struggles to keep it at that, to not ask why he would do such a thing.
Alhaitham pulls an apple from his pocket and summons a small knife. "I did," he answers only after he begins to peel it.
Kaveh has always had a terrible poker face. He knows this, and he knows this is why he often loses games against anyone. Questions burst in his throat, whether out of curiosity or guilt or some unknown aspect of being a scholar.
"Two were killed in battle with the matra," Alhaitham says before they can choke him. "Two more took their own lives to avoid punishment."
“And the others?”
Alhaitham hasn’t broken the peel yet.
“I know there are others, Alhaitham. He said so.”
Alhiatham does not lie. Nor is he cruel. He is simply blunt, and he does not hesitate to deliver bad news. It is best to get it dealt with quickly, if you ask him.
So why, why oh why, has he decided to shave off another three inches of peel before he asnwers?
“They were criminals, Kaveh,” he whispers.
If there is a right thing to say — if, if, if — that is not it. That implies that there were other deaths, that the fleeting hope he had of Aizik lying was false. That there is blood on his hands that he has no hope of washing away.
“How many?” Kaveh asks, hands pressed into his temples.
“They were trying to kill you,” Alhiatham says.
“I have a right to know.”
The peel falls to the floor in one long strip. Alhaitham cuts the apple into slices. His lips thin. He's unsure of his words; a rare sight for a scholar of any kind, much less Haravatat. Much much less Alhaitham.
“Four,” he says finally. “Four were already dead when we arrived,”
Kaveh gasps. “Four?” he chokes out, “Four?”"
He doesn't even remember. All he remembers is blood and pain and the sting of desperation in his veins.
He curls in on himself. His fingers clutch the front of his oversized shirt.
"Hey," a soft voice whispers. There is a weight on the bed beside him, and hands unfurling his fists. Someone shushes him, a gentle thumb running under his eye to catch his tears. He finds his face buried in the dark fabric of that stupid cape. A hand sits on the back of his head, another holds his fingers out straight.
Kaveh curls his left arm around Alhaitham.
And then he sobs.
There are so many things running through his head, his heart, his soul. Relief fights with fear fights with grief. And above it all, looming over him as it has his entire life, guilt.
The guilt of losing his father.
The guilt of selling his childhood home over one stupid mistake.
The guilt of living in Alhaitham's house, wasting Alhaitham's time, ruining Alhaitham's life.
And now that he's ruined four others…
"Please," Alhaitham says, "please don't mourn them."
Do-don't mourn? Them?!
How does Kaveh explain that they are not the cause of his mourning? That, as much guilt as he's felt in his life, he knows it will wash away in time, sculpted into a facet of himself in the same way as all his other attributes:
His blond hair and red eyes.
His genius architecture.
His kind heart, much too large and much too soft, that cares for every being that crosses its path.
Save for four.
He sees nothing when he thinks of them. Not their names, not their faces. Not their deaths. Nor does he feel any remorse for the families his mind would fabricate had they been anyone elase.
There is nothing, not even the spark of relief.
How can he mourn someone he has no feelings for?
How can he explain that he is able to understand that he should be upset, but isn't?
It is not guilt, this time, that causes him to fracture.
It is the absence of it.
When you've spent too much time with the JJBA community, ". . .My Kaveh a lil too muscular. . ."
But he do he looking like a snack.
Tumblr media
I drew this some time ago, right before his birthday, but forgot to post it here.
A thought occurred to me, Kaveh is probably covered in lean muscle, but the Genshin fandom loves portraying as a weakling. I mean, Scara can toss him around during the inter-Darshan event and Kaveh still came out in one piece, and he does hands-on work building his architecture projects. Alhaitham even complains about Kaveh "hammering away on another one of his projects in the dead of night..." in his Good Night voice-over. Kaveh could probably throw his claymore around if he wanted to. (He does wield it, not only during his plunging attack, but he also holds it at his side during attack interruptions.)
Kaveh looks like a catalyst user, but I'm glad he's a claymore user. He's had some of the most fun game play out of all my characters when you combine all of his elements together, his e skill, burst, and normal/charged attacks. I think claymore, personality-wise, fits Kaveh more anyway. I listened to a Scott Pilgrim vs. the World video where they described Ramona Flower's weapon. It went something along the lines of "her hammer was something powerful and devastating, but also too broad and slow to cause decisive damage. It didn't require too much skill to maneuver, but it still caused a good amount of damage." Kaveh is passionate, caring, and determined in his own right, but it's the weight of his trauma and past that make him indecisive in a way (especially in Alhaitham's eyes). Not saying this applies to all claymore characters, but it was something that resurfaced from my memory after seeing everyone's disappointment in Hoyo making Kaveh a claymore character.
