i think it'd be funny if SC actually slept a normal amount for a hollowhead and the other hollowheads are just so constantly stressed that they don't know what sleeping normally is like

going to be so honest with you, reading about other people’s experience with time off recovering from top surgery is so depressing. society really said what’s more important: recovering fully so you can remain a happy, healthy individual, or coming back to work immediately so you have money to survive.

#my coordinator said something mean about a coworker who quit a while ago #in the sense of like. ‘YOUR surgery will be fine because you only want 3 weeks off. unlike andy who took 5 months because he’s lazy 🙄🙄’#like girl he had shoulder surgery.#and I’m coming back after 3 weeks to help you in the office with reports.#I’m ALSO not going out into the field for at least 2-3 months like jdjejdjsjab does laziness factor into this or did you just not like him.#anyways #reason 89253 i MUST remain on everyone’s good side literally until the very day im out the door.

Alright, a Quality Assurance position has just opened up, and I've applied for it. (I know my worth, I have experience, and worst thing they can do is say no.)

*deep breath*

Here we go.

#It's an office 8 hour shift instead of the 2-2-3 schedule so I'd lose the nice 3 day weekends every other week #But I don't have to work 12 hours and the pay goes higher and office workers get the observed holidays off #Dunno if I'm *fully* qualified but I have nearly 10 years experience working in the plant (combined production and lab)#And have a little bit of clerical experience with my Best Buy warehouse time #So I might be able to substitute (they even say equivalent experience in the listing)#(Bachelor's degree is only preferred not required)#(So here's hoping I can out-interview someone with a degree)#(Assuming they don't just toss my application)

I am so beyond ready to quit this job. Wednesday cannot come fast enough.

#to be fair it's bc school starts again in a few weeks #but idk. every day at this office feels like sandpaper on my skin. people always ask me shit i dont understand #and every case is so individual there's no set checklist to follow to troubleshoot #so most of the time I just grind my gears and get stuck #it'd busy more days than not.#and it was advertised to me as data entry only. client interactions was not what i signed up for.#it's all client interaction.#we're short staffed so nobody gets to take the back office and have a break.#when we weren't short staffed i was the new guy and only got 1 day in the back a week while everyone else got 2.#all my coworkers are conservative but talk like they're apolitical.#i thought it'd be fulfilling bc im helping people get benefits #but many are rude or impatient as any other service job. I'm constantly trying to direct people that don't want to listen #or explain the intricacies of something i barely understand.#and i don't want to lead people astray bc you have to start over if you blow a deadline.#but there's just nothing redeeming that i enjoy.#i hate customer service. i hate constantly asking questions. i like seldom few of my coworkers.#i can't be me at work.#and i don't care about the work itself anymore.#this job made me cry every day for weeks last month from sheer stress and overstimulation.#i almost cried myself sick several times.#the only reason I'm not there anymore is bc i dont fucking care anymore.#it took me 2 months to burn out. 2 months!#i was training for half of that!!#idk. everyone decided i was smart and could pick it up quickly so. even though everyone else got 4-6 weeks of shadowing #you can make do with 3 before you start doing stuff solo.#which feels unfair. i wasn't ready for it. and i resent the decision quite a bit.#plus it's been a nightmare for me in terms of external stressors and my generally deteriorating mental health. so.#all in all. i hate it here.#and i can't wait to turn in my notice so i can gtfo in 2 weeks #i am so tired. free me. let me go back to my music please

currently experiencing another "if you dont take a break your body will take it for you" moment. it was 35°C/95°F in my room last night when i went to bed and i was feeling very nauseous and headachey. i must've had like 5 liters of water yesterday with zero exercise which is insane, and so today i woke up at noon feeling like a complete zombie. i had thee wildest dreams and tbh i'm 75% sure i had a near death experience as well lmao

#like i'm kind of surprised that i woke up at all #anyway #point is #its a blessing in these guys #ive been putting myself in thesis jail #writing and editing like 8-10 hours every day for the past week and a half #thinking i could churn it out as quickly as possible #...or 2 weeks.. or 3? i honestly have no idea #and only now am i realizing how exhausted i've been #i wonder if i'll ever learn to pace myself and listen to my body #also like #how is desk work so exhausting??#like i get that its mentally exhausting #but #im just sitting there #and i get to be home #how will i ever survive a 9-5?#one week into my first office job they'll have to shoot me like a lame horse #&

Had a panic attack that literally woke me up in the middle of the night last night and lasted until the early morning and let me tell you, that shit is TERRIFYING. Needless to say, I think I'm ready to go back to work.

#personal #Am I still in pain? Yes. Is it controllable when painkillers are taken though? Also yes. Somewhat.#Breaking news!#Girlie who doesn't have their mental health under control feels 100x worse being holed up in the place they live alone under for FOUR days #I literally have not left my house since my surgery on Wednesday morning...#And then I'm wondering why my anxiety/panic attacks have been God awful these four days... Gee I wonder why!#Like I don't wanna go back to work because capitalism but I need to for like... A distraction.#My thoughts have been racing and I'm just begging for people to talk to me in my personal life to calm my anxiety down.#It feels debilitating at this point. It's literally taken over my life.#And I have my anxiety meds but I only just got them so I have to wait that 1-3 weeks for them to actually 'kick in.'#I really should have asked my new GP for the tiniest amount of benzos to get me through this recovery.#And I don't even have a follow-up appt. for my recovery but I am gonna call them on Mon. and ask for one for my own peace of mind.#I've called this office three times now over the course of three days to make sure what I'm feeling is 'normal.'#Anyway!!!

#a sock speaks #work tag #food tag #it was high 80s today but I didn't even notice bc the air conditioner at restaurant job is punishingly high powered #I was wearing my long sleeved undershirt and leggings without any discomfort #but I have to run errands tomorrow and my car has no AC. the house also has no AC but is okayish at staying cool.#I wanted to make pizza today but didn't have time. might be too hot for pizza tomorrow :( but my ingredients are aging in the fridge #I finally got a paycheck but it's for the 2nd period I worked. I'm missing the first one and need to talk with the regional manager #and he's only in on Thursdays #also gotta request a day off to go to Portland with my cousin in 2 weeks #also gotta request off for orchestra which also starts in 2 weeks #also my aunt is trying to recruit me for a caregiving job and I'd have to take 3 weeks off to get trained #it'd be super easy to schedule both jobs once I'm trained but the training is a big time commitment #also restaurant job scheduled me for all graveyard shifts this week. if I can't adjust my sleep schedule I'll have to give a firm no on it #also gotta go to the bank to deposit my check and. uh. all of August's tips (terrifying)#also gotta call a vital records office in Maine about my mom's birth certificate bc we're trying to take her to Canada for her birthday #I don't think we have enough time but my sister wants to do it #also I want to finish knitting this sock that I started in June. I just have the toe left #also I finally confirmed the color and pattern for a baby blanket I'm preparing as a gift so I gotta get yarn #also I need to buy blackout curtains to fit my windows so I can sleep in the day if I work nights #also sometime this week my sister is cleaning the church. I want to go with her so I have an excuse to get ice cream from a shop nearby #also I need to clean my room and I should hang up the art prints & postcards I've been collecting for months #most of them are green to match my decor but some are just characters or scenes I like #oh! I also owe a postcard to a school friend #I had caffeine for the first time in several days and my brain is buzzing. there's so much I want to do and I have time to do it #and I'm excited about it!

hey gang what's it mean if every time you're absent from a place, something awful happens at that place.

#literally why does this always happen #whenbever i decide to play hooky or take a mental health day some fucked up shit happens #at school it was always bomb or gun threats that would happen on the days i was absent #and now at work i took today off because i'm just so deep-end bone-tired exhausted i can barely walk around the house #and my boss just told me that no only were all 3 of our maintenance team off today BUT #our head of housekeeping was as well. and a fucking crazy guest came into our office and was threatning people.#why can i never just take a fucking day off. why does something always have to happen #and now i'm going to feel guitly for taking any more days off which i know i'll have to because i'm so fucking exhausted #i can't even talk to people right.#and on top of all of this our regular reservationist quit and this is our busiest week of the year #and my other coworker let her go a few days early because he thought we were covered.#fucking hell.

god sometimes i wish the whole "you wouldn't say/do that to a physically disabled person" lie that certain mentally ill people say was true bc i fucking WISH i could use "I'm in a wheelchair" as a gotcha for people being ableist against me. unfortunately,

#so my psych that I'm dropping the SECOND i get a new (better) one #like that whole facility. they DO have telehealth/video appointments #but they fucking?????? make the PATIENT DRIVE TO THE BUILDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT #WHILE THE DOCTOR IS AT FUCKING HOME. WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE TO GO INTO HER OFFICE WHEN SHE'S NOT EVEN THERE?????#like it's actually fucking ridiculous AND they NEVER get interpreters when requested AND they ONLY allow to schedule by PHONE #like- my Deaf mother literally physically cannot communicate with them because they refuse to speak to a video phone interpreter #or let her talk to them in person or via email. it actually pisses me off so fucking much #and like. most doctors offices. if you're late they give you 15 minutes before they declare you a no show and cancel #that place gives FIVE MINUTES. i walked in SIX MINUTES LATE one day and BEGGED them to just let me do the appointment #and they still refused #so i was out of meds for like. two weeks. anyway #the last straw was the last TWO times i went i was in my wheelchair #and the doors. open inwards to the rooms #so they closed me in the room for the appointment #and i PHYSICALLY COULDN'T GET OUT because i COULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR because there wasn't enough wheelchair space #and i had to frantically text my mom to let me out and SHE GOT IN TROUBLE FOR IT when i was SOBBING #bc i had tried genuinely screaming at the top of my lungs for someone to let me out of the room but nobody fucking heard me #and the second time i told the nurse 'HEY I CAN'T GET OUT OF HERE WITH MY CHAIR' and she was like 'don't worry I'll come get you'#she never did. i had to get my mom again #not fucking going back there ever again they've only ever pissed me off more with every single interaction #oh also they only let you schedule new appointments after they SEND YOU A LETTER SAYING YOU CAN CALL TO SCHEDULE NOW #if you call before then they DON'T LET YOU #and they give literally fucking 3-5 day later appointments when I've requested SEVERAL times I NEED A TWO WEEK NOTICE FOR WORK #also they don't give a shit about cutting you off your medicine cold turkey and not refilling it until several requests later #fuck that place. i hope every good doctor there finds a better job and the building gets abandoned and crumbles to the ground.

the number of bureaucracy jobs that "can" be done from home, in that the actual physical labor can be performed anywhere, but now the communication (which is the majority of the job) takes 10-100x longer.
