I read through your larry post and you mentioned the peace ring. Harry wore it last over a year ago in September and on the anniversary twitter larries were waiting for it to come back, they even wanted a harry london walk with him wearing it. That pap walk they would tolerate. When it didn't happen, they turned to louis. He had a show that day and wore a green shirt, olive green, olive like offering an olive branch, like asking for peace, bam peace ring was back! I cringed so hard when I read that but I used to be like that too so I couldn't even be mad. But then I started questioning my sanity and if everything else i believed about clues and messages larry was sending was wrong and made up. probably most of it. But then i think about the louis maison shirt on harrys house release day and I question it again. But I'm chill about all this. Maybe they broke up a long time ago or maybe they're on off, maybe still together, maybe in an open relationship. Whatever we'll never know so why stress about it. I think mostly on Tumblr everyone is more relaxed about it. It's the new larries who don't grasp any of this and think management is still controlling them and larry are blinking more code at us that are annoying as fuck.

I joined in this crazy H&L world only last January after I caught wind of the second E breakup and it really felt like "holy shit, there might really be something here, they really might be about to come out, etc." It's been an interesting time so far in the fandom, and I think I'm more in line with your way of thinking recently. All right! It's time to count down my favorite Asian media things I watched in 2024 -- and sure, most of them came out way earlier than 2024, but whatever, I'm slow. Longer rec posts linked where applicable. If you wind up watching one of these on my say-so, let me know! I'm always happy to know I've been an Influencer (ha ha).

Honorable Mention: Heaven and Hell: Soul Exchange

This was originally going to be on the actual list, but a last-minute contender hopped in and bumped it off. Still, I loved this weird genderfucky body-swap murder mystery romp enough that I couldn't leave it out entirely. This baby sits right at the Hump of Compelling Mediocrity, where when it's good, it's good, and when it's bad, you can't stop thinking about how you'd fix it. I want an American remake of this so Bryan Fuller can rub his butt all over it. [full rec post here]

10. Hotel Del Luna

Did we watch this for Yeo Jingoo? You know it. And yet, we wound up falling for all the characters in this show about a bunch of dead (and one living!) people sending other dead people off to their afterlives. Meandering at times, it falls into a lot of K-drama tropes, but it still manages to pull of something special and occasionally profound.

9. 3 Will Be Free

Ah, here's the last-minute spoiler from Thailand! We showed up expecting something dumb, fun, and horny. What we got was something way smarter than it has any right to be -- but still fun and horny! A bisexual trio of incredibly sexy people (and some fascinating side characters) fall in love while semi-haplessly on the run from a whole bunch of people with guns.

8. Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko!

This goofy tale of dumb lesbians was wacky and fun from start to finish. How long can you keep up a gag about two co-workers each convinced that the other one isn't into her? Exactly the length of this tiny, funny comedy. And as a bonus, there's the manga, which is equally short and sweet. [full rec post here]

7. Story of Yanxi Palace

At 70 episodes, this (rather speculative) historical drama is not for those with short attention spans. Even so, it's a treat for anyone who likes period pieces, lavish costuming, and high-quality acting. Watch as a completely insane young woman leverages her insanity to become the most powerful pretty pretty princess in the Qing Dynasty! [full rec post here]

6. The Rebel

And speaking of well-acted period pieces! At the risk of quoting myself: Do you feel like watching a beautiful man have a terrible day for 43 episodes straight? Then this Republican-Era spy drama is for you. Zhu Yilong bounces off some gorgeous costars in a gripping tale of brave Communist misery. [full rec post here]

5. Legend of Fei

A great example of how a boilerplate YA story about a bunch of teens who save the world from eeeeevil adults can be elevated by leaning in to its inherent sweet, melodramatic goofiness. I wouldn't call it a comedy, but it's a very funny drama held up by delightful characters and charming romances. I have no idea what the plot was, nor do I care. I was too busy watching Yibo smile. 4 Otoko Meshi

This show is silly. It has a completely preposterous setup: an injured yakuza boss moves in with an unemployed twentysomething, cooks him dinner, and teaches him life lessons. It has all the subtlety of a piano dropped from a great height. All the acting is completely over the top. And yet, it manages to be sincerely heartwarming? This ten-episode food-based comedy is entirely worth the effort you may have to go through to find a way to watch it. [full rec post here]

3. The Spirealm

Yeah, this one grabbed my ass good enough that I've made a whole meta-and-shitpost sideblog (@thirteenthdoor) for it. I will say, though, that the show wouldn't have done it alone -- my love for it is compounded by how I fell even harder for the book it was adapted from. Both of them together tell a gay-ass horror story about love and loss through several terrifying, deadly worlds. [full rec post for the show here; full rec post for the book here]

2. The On1y One

Just ... damn, man. What a piece of art. I was not expecting much out of a Taiwanese BL about two high-school boys falling in love, much less a beautiful, well-written, amazingly affecting tale of complicated family dynamics and gay feelings. It had better get a second season that concludes the story, is all I'm saying. [full rec post here]

1. Kinou Nani Tabeta?

I have now watched significant portions of this ... four times? Because I keep showing it to other people, because it keeps being that good. The slow, cozy, food-centric tale of the daily lives of two aging Japanese gay men makes you feel happy -- but when it rips your heart out, it rips it right out. I get that it's a little Too Real for a lot of people, but oh, it was just what I needed. [full rec post here]

This is a public community, which means when the feature goes live to everyone, anyone can view it and join without a special invitation. Little ninja fans of present day and past, I began watching RC9GN in December of 2012, and it changed my life forever, now it's 2024 and I'm nearing 30, time sure flies! Anyways I've been working on cleaning out my computer files and found a bunch and I mean A BUNCH of Randy Cunningham 9th Grade Ninja promotional material and side content. I pretty much have most things that came out from 2012 - 2015 pertaining to the show.

I imagine a lot of these things have been lost to time as some of it was originally posted was from the DisneyXD website, and variations of the DisneyXD website (meaning from other countries). I have interviews, bumpers, dubs of episodes, even footage of some of the old RC9GN games, and Randy cameos (I saved footage of someone playing the RC9GN Poptropica promo!)

I also have a clip from WSFA where they reported on the fan that wrote Rachel's song. I had thought it was posted to youtube but I can't find it again so maybe they removed it, it's not on the article that's still up either! Guess it's good I saved it. (The article isn't entirely accurate, I believe she said she got the internship because of her song)

I also have a few clips of other dubs, including an Italian dub of the song and music video "GO NINJA GO," that's pretty cool! I also found audio files of the raw music from the show! I can't even remember how I got that. (they are unfortunately not named)

I have some less quality stuff like literally me just recording promos and bumpers off of the TV screen lol. Some of these also include snips of other Disney XD bumpers and promos though.

Anyways, I don't want this stuff kept all to my self as I see a lot of it is lost to time, if not hard to find. And oh look at that looks like I have a handy little sideblog I never used that's perfect for this! @theninjanomicon (I'll pretty it up later), so over time I'll probably share some of it on there.

Younger me was unfortunately not very thorough in the archiving, so some titles, dates, names, and exactly where I got them from, are missing, but I can give a rough time frame and where I got these from that I can remember. (another reason why I'm doing it! to mark down what I can remember before I forget anymore of it)

I wouldn't be uploading any full episodes for obvious reasons but might upload clips of some of the alternate dubs I have. And yes I have the pilot, which I can't share either but I do have STORYBOARDS from the pilot (which up until this year was our only reference for this "kim possible style" it used to have) which maybe I can share as I got it from the storyboarder's portfolio which was public back when I got it.

I might add some commentaries under a readmore for certain posts to give extra contexts/what I remember being relevant to the piece I post.

Now the hard part is figuring out where to start! What would y'all like to see first?

Over the past year or so, myself and a bunch of really extremely talented writers and Battletech nerds have been working on a collaborative fan fiction project, set in the Battletech universe.

It has grown to levels that frankly I wouldn't have expected, and I've made so many friends in the process.

And we're nowhere close to finished! It would mean a lot to all of us if you would give a bit of your time and check out our stories! Even if you know nothing about Battletech, I hope there is something there to tweak your interest!

This is my little LMK AU sideblog, which started off as a bunch of disjointed background notes for my fanfics, but developed into its own gigantic thing over time.

I've said elsewhere that, despite LMK (and many other JTTW adjacent works) lifting certain tidbits wholesale from FSYY——like Nezha's backstory or the Golden Dragon Shears, neither the show nor the fanworks really go into the implications of a FSYY/JTTW combined universe.

(For one, Zhao Gongming's three sisters, the Sanxiao, showing up to kick Jin and Yin's butts for stealing and breaking their treasure would be very satisfying, and also hella badass.)

So here it is: Journey of the Gods, aka "LMK, but FSYY is also canon and an extremely influential historical event".

Inspired by @digitaldoeslmk 's By the Book AU.

What even is FSYY?

"Ancient China's bloodiest bureaucracy recruitment program, kickstarted by a king who simped too hard for the creator goddess of humanity and the fox girl she sent to end his dynasty."

"I'll write my own God-Demon novel, with blackjacks and fox hookers and no Buddhist allegories!" ——Xu Zhonglin/Lu Xixing/Li Yunxiang

Okay, jokes aside: Investiture of the Gods(Fengshen Yanyi) is the other big "God-Demon Novel" of the Ming dynasty, written after JTTW. It's about the toppling of the Shang dynasty and its tyrannical King Zhou by King Wu of Zhou——but with more Daoism, immortals and demons helping out both sides, and ten billion magical formations and treasures. 

At the end of the story, almost everyone who died in battle were deified and became the 365 gods of the Celestial Bureaucracy, thus "Investiture of the Gods".

Here is my overview of FSYY's grand overarching conflict, a.k.a. "Why are all the Daoist immortals fighting?" 

Compared to JTTW, it's a lot more formulaic and suffers from a massive character count inflation problem, but also extremely influential in Chinese folk religion, to the point of some modern temples, like Qingyang Palace, basically worshiping characters from the novel! Like, the western equivalent would be a church worshiping Dante and Beatrice from the Divine Comedy.

(Similarly, it is to orthodox Daoism what the Divine Comedy is to medieval Christian theology, and should not be treated as actual religious scriptures.)

Okay, FSYY happened in the LMK universe. So What?

Well, first, it will really do wonders to fill up that eerily empty Celestial Realm we see in the Spider Queen special, and the Celestial Bureaucracy will no longer consist of a grand total of five people.

Secondly, it can solve some major show-not-tell problems and actually give legitimacy to the grievances of the LMK Brotherhood + Havoc in Heaven, as well as fleshing out the Celestial Realm.

Third, so many cool magical treasures.

Fourth, LBD gets an origin story, with a twist.

Fifth, I delight in quality angst and horror, and FSYY had some seriously messed-up stuff and implications.

Sixth, Celestial Bureaucracy office politics.

Seventh, Nezha kicking asses and winning fights like he should.

Eighth, crazy Xianxia shit, as you’d expect from the great-granddaddy of modern Xianxia genre.

Ninth, infodumps about Chinese mythos and history trivias.

Tenth, Underworld lore.

...As you can probably tell, this is mostly just me nerding out and writing walls of texts. I'm not a very good artist and can't do Lego style, but will probably doodle some symbol/character designs for funsies.

I also derive most of my enjoyment from writing fix-its and worldbuilding, not shipping characters. Like, I love exploring individual characters through relationships, but just ain't a fan of romance.

There will be a lot of OCs, but unless otherwise specified, all of them will be based on actual characters from FSYY and JTTW, with a few folk gods sprinkled in for funsies.

Expanded Info for Black Sails Kink Meme 2024

Hi there!

Since there has been a sufficient amount of interest for this idea, let me explain a little further how I think this will work and general guidelines–

I’m encouraging as informal and low stress/pressure of an atmosphere as possible here. Back in The Day when LiveJournal Kink Memes were common, it was very typical to see a prompt put up and filled within an hour. It doesn’t have to be polished, it doesn’t have to make logistical sense, it just has to fill the prompt as best as you can, sexily! It’s supposed to be fun. A bunch of fun, raunchy kink and smut to roll around in as a fandom. 🥳 🥳

So yeah, first thing to expect, it’s basically ALL PWP (porn without plot). Not to say that someone can’t write a full plot epic if they like, do whatever you like, but in my experience, a 4am fugue state smut fill written in a sweaty haze is kind of, the spirit of the thing. We’re creating ficlets, snapshots, tasty treats of smut with as little pressure to make it in any way polished as possible. Please think of this as, hmmm, a little fun writing exercise you do before you go back to your Big Serious Work, if that helps. We are letting loose, we are having fun, we are being deliciously, joyously, unrepentantly filthy with it! The tagline for the event is: “Get High, Jerk Off Three Times, and Write Me a Warmup :DD”

A prompt might say, for example– “MaxAnne, s2, would love to see the girls get slippery wet with some period sex, bonus if one or both eats the other out while she’s menstruating.” 

Pretty standard stuff, nothing that off the wall from my perspective, however, some folks might feel shy about asking for it for whatever reasons and so the anonymous format frees ppl up to ask for anything from: “Midshipman James McGraw getting caned in pre-canon by his superiors” to, idk, “full tentacle-y type oviposition porn where someone is being forced to come over and over again while being implanted with eggs by some giant plant beast on Skeleton Island (probably Silver).”

Literally ask for whatever smut you want~~ This is your chance, toss it into the pot! It will be tagged accordingly when posted if it’s filled, so live your truth, chase your bliss, know no shame, no one can see you~~

It is helpful when submitting a prompt to give details that are important to you, and the prompt filler will do their best with it. <3 So, I suggest giving a ship specification up front, maybe a vague timeline (season 1, season 2, etc), and then the kinks you want to see with a short description. Sort of like the MaxAnne period sex I gave an example of above.

Logistics and Structure of Submissions–

I have created a sideblog called @blacksailskmeme through which, once submissions are live (it will be open to accept prompts hopefully in March 2024), you may submit ANON ASK PROMPTS. I will publish them with a number and a link to the collection. If you like one of the prompts, simply post it through the collection with its corresponding number and then that AO3 link to your fill will be reblogged underneath the original ask prompt.

Simple as that! 

Follow the Event Blog, or the tag #2024BSKMemeFills in order to keep tabs on when prompts are filled. 

This makes it very easy for me and yall both, as there is no claiming process to trouble ourselves with. As many fills as are written are allowed for each prompt, simply write whatever speaks to you and I’ll be able to track the fills by the notifs on the collection. :DD

As of now, I’m planning to open prompts in March 2024 and keep the collection and blog running for prompts and fills both up through the end of Summer 2024. To respect the spirit of the event, all fills and prompts MUST be anonymous. Edit for clarification: The entire collection is marked Anonymous, which means any work submitted to it will be posted Anon. There is no option you need to worry about checking to guarantee this. I apologize for the initial confusing language, I have been learning as I go.

It still stands that if, after the event is closed, you want to then de-anon your work, that is your prerogative. However, it will mean you must remove the work from the collection, as the collection itself will forever and always remain anonymous.

Where do you read and find web comics?

that's a great question!

these days the scene is kinda dominated by platforms like webtoon and tapas, which heavily favour vertical-scrolling infinite canvas formats. these environments are aggressively competitive, and getting to the top of the popularity pile requires a pace of work that makes even the manga industry look downright reasonable. I wrote a little about one such comic back in 2022. the 'portal' format applies similar pressures as webnovel sites - somehow that's come down to favouring high-concept premises which can be spelled out in a title, and a fairly homogeneous art style. in general you'll see a lot of romance and isekai.

that said, traditional page-formatted webcomics are absolutely still around. usually I read them on their websites - you can use an RSS reader to keep up with updates for most comics, but I fell out of the habit of that years ago.

as far as finding them, there's not really any centralised place to find them, but often webcomics will promote other authors, and there's organisations like hiveworks which serve to cross-promote members of their network. most webcomics have a 'links' page. it's rhizomatic or some shit.

if you are coming back to webcomics, 'I used to read this comic, is it still going' can also lead to a lot of pleasant surprises - you wouldn't believe the number of webcomic authors who turn out to have transed their gender when you come back a few years later (or maybe you would). 'spend years writing a comic instead of transitioning' is a strangely common pitfall [edit: though I'm not sure 'spend years transitioning instead of making a big creative project' is like. a better strategy lmao. they're both big expressions of agency, it doesn't really matter what order you do em.]

some authors tend to stay on a single perpetual epic that will likely last until they die, but others like to write multiple projects, and usually if you enjoy one thing by a person you'll enjoy the others. for example, @bigbigtruck wrote the excellent The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal back in the day, and is presently writing a story about stormchasers with a very similar vibe. Evan Dahm of Rice Boy went on to write some rather cool comics like Vattu.

webcomics review blogs can also be a good place to pick up recs. yes homo, now defunct, put a few things on my radar (I disagree with many of their opinions but that's part of the fun of it lol), as has thewebcomicsreview.

along similar lines, forums can be a good place to look - back in the old old days, I used to be a big fan of a D&D comic called The Order of the Stick and hang out on its forums a lot, and they had a pretty active board for talking about other webcomics (a large part of which was devoted to literally hundreds of threads for the club of posters making fun of a really mid comic called Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire - don't ask me to explain that...) these days I bet there are webcomics discords that function similarly, though I couldn't tell you which ones off the top of my head.

if you're willing to part with a little bit of money, events like the Shortbox Comics Fair are a good way to gather a huge stack of one-shots. I picked up a bunch in the last one of those, I should really write about them.

honestly I should really just draw up a list of comics I've liked, catch up on the ones that I fell off the update schedule on, and put that list on my website somewhere. writing full reviews is fun but time-consuming and I don't want to make promises with how incredibly ADHD I am (the 'comics comints' series lasted a mighty three posts, and of all the writing-about-stuff projects, the main ones I'm trying to get going again are the tftbn and umineko liveblogs), but it is happy-making to spread the word about good shit I've read. I used to liveblog webcomics quite a bit, you can see some of them over here. (I never got around to migrating the Homestuck sideblog.)

ultimately, word of mouth is queen here. all these suggestions are just different flavours of "find people who like the sorts of things you like and read the stuff they like" in the end!

I am thisssss 🤏 close to making an agere blog. I’ll probably not make it a sideblog and rather use my second email to make it a whole new blog (I don’t want it to be associated with my main since I’m scared my few friends would find this stuff weird)… I’d like to be able to share a bunch of agere stuff I’ve made. ✮⋆˙ When Chuuya first joins the Sheep the concept of age regression is completely foreign to him. He has absolutely no experience with the outside world after all. But Shirase isn’t shy about it one bit. It’s one of the many things he’ll happily ramble to Chuuya about when he’s introducing him to the new lifestyle. Chuuya of course would never judge! If anything he’s fascinated by the idea. Another chance at a childhood? He didn’t even know that was possible…

⛦ Chuuya is very lost at the beginning when he just starts taking care of Shirase. He doesn’t even know how to take care of a kid, much less someone older acting like a kid! But the Sheep is like a very close family. Some other stray members are happy to step in and show Chuuya how to take care of him! Making Shirase comfortable is such a huge comfort to Chuuya, it shows he’s doing something right

✮⋆˙ Shirase is a pretty compliant little guy, he doesn’t need much to be happy! As long as he can see Chuuya he’s good! He’s a big kid he doesn’t even need to hold hands! Well… Sometimes it is really nice though… Chuuya is happy to do so of course! But for the most part Shirase just needs to see he isn’t alone, that’s enough for him!

⛦ Shirase does not like the concept of sharing. Likes he’s aware of it, he knows why sharing is important, and he loves all his siblings in the Sheep of course! But when he gets something nice… It’s hard not to be selfish. At first Chuuya gives in, spoiling the little one and keeping his secrets. But as Chuuya bears the weight of responsibility he forces Shirase to share more. After all the Sheep only have so much

✮⋆˙ Pet names time! I think Chuuya uses pet names like “Bud” “Little Guy” and “Shi” Shirase is a big kid! (He regresses 3-7) He expects to be treated as such! However when Chuuya’s getting frustrated he’ll bring out the full name! Scary ૮₍˶Ó﹏Ò ⑅₎ა. I also think that as Chuuya takes on the role as the “King of the Sheep” he’d call the regressors “My Little Lamb”

⛦ Shirase loves to run around and play! He has soo much energy! I think this would actually be encouragement for Chuuya to get in shape! (No way he’s in good shape after coming from the lab) If Chuuya can get in good shape then he can run around and chase the little one! Shirase is super fast though! And he’ll tell Chuuya exactly that! If he gets caught too easily he’ll cry, and he’ll use dirty tricks to stay ahead! (“Chuu look! Puppy!” There’s no puppy)

✮⋆˙ Shirase can be really mouthy! He’s the type of regressor you shouldn’t let around the babies. Volume control is nonexistent, he says kinda mean stuff without really thinking, and he’s not very observant of other’s feelings. This is the kind of baby to be super careful not to swear around! Chuuya lets a single curse word slip then all day it’s all Shirase will say “What toy do you want?” “Fuck!” “Are you hungry?” “Fuck!” Chuuya swears it won’t happen again. It usually happens again

⛦ Nap time is a nightmare. Shirase can be literally falling asleep in Chuuya’s arms and he’ll insist he isn’t tired. He wants to go play! The best thing Chuuya can do is slowly transition him to sitting still games so that the little one can fall asleep while playing. Then Chuuya just has to scoop him up and they’re all good! But yeah never discuss bedtime or nap time. Shirase knows those words!

✮⋆˙ One thing however Shirase definitely can not do though is spell! Anytime something needs discussed that he can’t hear just spell it out! For example “Yeah we’re gonna take an N-A-P” then Shirase just sits there so confused, trying to string the confusing letters into words… Most of the people in the Sheep didn’t get the best education. Being in a younger headspace only heightens this. Chuuya won’t hesitate to take advantage of this weak point

backrooms AU? 👀👀👀

Yess, I've been brainrotting this story recently. From my outline document:

Ok so the gang is at comic con and they're dressed up as characters from the Legend of Zink: Hero of Calatia video game franchise. When they're done there for the day, they are headed down to the underground train station and they take the elevator.

They all cram in, and are squished together. The younger guys are like "hey let's jump when it starts moving," you know like you do to jump 3 feet in the air. Time tells them no, but they do it anyways.

It sounds like the cable snaps and then the elevator starts free falling

But instead of hitting the ground, they noclip through the floor and are all teleported to the backrooms.

Most of them end up in Level 0 (empty yellow office building), but Warriors ends up in Level 1: The Warehouse/The Hub (best case scenario), and Legend ends up in Level 2: The Maintenance Tunnels (worst case scenario, full of dangerous machinery and monsters).

Then the gang has to go through a bunch of levels to try and find a way to escape the backrooms. I've been working on figuring out what each Link's individual story arc will be (they all have secrets that get revealed) and what levels they'll go to. I've written 2 chapters of the prequel and I really wanna get started on writing the first chapters of the actual fic.

Hello, it's been a while since I've sent something lol. Had my birthday and a bunch of other stuff in the last few weeks, so my month's been busy lol

I've been debating on if I want to make a sideblog for DBH or not for a little while (I haven't posted much on my main in a while and feel awkward just posting random stuff again lol, plus I'd like to start organizing my fixations into side blogs or whatever lol), plus I've kinda wanted to rewrite DBH or something (though I'm not the best writer).

Anyway, I'm curious on some headcanons you have about androids themselves? Like any functions or lifespans or what?

Also watched the Tech Demo with Kara and such, where she says stuff like how her "battery" can help her run automonously for, like, 173 years? That's a long time, especially since it seems like the rest of their body (or at least several) has planned obsolescence?

She also mentions she's a third-generation AX400, which also makes me curious about how "generations" of androids work.

Rambling a lot, lol, but yeah, I'm just curious about what your thoughts or ideas are on how they function and whatnot :0

OOH LOVE THIS QUESTION ‼️ Here’s a few Android head canons I have when it comes to functionality and all that:

More “common” androids (such as caretakers, houseworkers, and receptionists) have much longer lifespans than more “advanced” models like combat androids or those made for special cases—like Connor. I think this because those “common” models tend to be quite personable. They’re usually in a home, form routines that humans close to them rely on, and even as times change a maid’s program barely has to be updated. Cleaning, cooking, and babysitting stays pretty consistent. Whereas more special case androids are usually in fields that change wildly and however they were made or appear probably won’t suit the conditions for long. So I head canon those common androids probably are built with the intention of longevity (even if new models become available, upgrades aren’t required) whereas models like Connor are built with the intention of a shorter shelf life.

I know rationally it’s accepted (and maybe confirmed? Can’t remember) that their skin and hair is a hologram. But I personally headcanon it’s not and that they can coat themselves in a layer of synthetic skin and hair. I feel it like makes more sense to 1.) make people more comfortable with the androids (it’s gonna be way easier for a child to bond with a caretaker android if when she takes its hand, it feels like human skin rather than hard and cold) and 2.) when considering sex work androids, who is going to want to pay to be intimate with something hard and plastic-y feeling to the touch yknow? I’m sure people would, but if it doesn’t feel human, I doubt it would be as popular. And I’m sure they would make the others in the same way even if they’re not doing sex work cause I additionally headcanon that pretty much all androids (except for children and maybe a few others) have some kind of genitalia. Because we know how people are, I’m sure any android that works in the home is probably equipped for intimacy. And there are the life partner androids as well. Etc, etc.

I know a lot of people head canon them to be very heavy cause they’re walking machines full of thirium, but I don’t think androids are any heavier or lighter than standard human weight. I imagine the weight of their blood is the heaviest part as their bodies are probably made of something sturdy but lightweight. And the inner mechanisms coming in at the second heaviest. I just think that would even out to being more or less pretty standard

Not posting this crossover concept on my fanfic ideas sideblog as there's a part of me that feels like it could happen if shows on a streaming service not connected to any network could cross over with a show on any network (but if anyone wants to write this if it can't happen as an actual episode go ahead)

Long intro out of the way, the crossover idea is Leverage: Redemption and Law & Order: SVU

Why I feel like both shows would go together is a strong social conscience (albeit of very different moral alignments where it'd be fun to see everyone bounce off each other), a tendency to do ripped-from-the-headlines stories that just file the proverbial serial numbers off, strong women, and one could argue SVU is a little bit competence-porn.

Also it'd be cool to see most of the team (as I don't know what to do about Breanna) undercover in the SVU as while idk what the mark would be whether or not it'd be a corrupt cop-or-cop-higher-up playing undercover-cop-the-other-way would be the best way to make an alliance actually work when it clicks they're both chasing the same guy. However, (while I don't know if any Leverage main has actually already been on a Law & Order show) things might get a little weird for Harry as imho Noah Wyle looks enough like the dude who played William Lewis that Harry showing up there feeling very not-who-he-says-he-is might get Olivia a little freaked.

However, a little twist to this crossover if I had my druthers and it could get made on actual TV would be that the SVU half of the crossover (and perhaps both might be multi-parters for a bit of an event) would be kind of Belly-Of-The-Beast-Job-esque where it just appears like a bunch of mysterious new detectives all joined all at once but the Leverage half (perhaps called something like "The Cops And Robbers Job" if that hasn't already been used) would show the "behind-the-scenes" of the actual con of it. This would not be just a very cool way to do a bit of an "AU episode" (or episodes as as I said I feel like it could best be used to its full potential in a two-parter) but with what'd just look to the SVU-watchers who haven't seen Leverage before like a bunch of new detectives all at once with a found-family dynamic already there from the jump would remind people of how good and full and full of life SVU used to be and they'd potentially be incentivized to write letters or w/e wanting that again from the show proper (of course these "newbies" couldn't stay but perhaps e.g. a certain someone could come back)
