Someone posted mermaid au sebaciel with mermaid Ciel but now I'm thinking about the reverse
Mermaid Sebastian, a deep sea creature, bioluminescent, huge and covered in spines, with claws and dark spots along his skin, pale in places only because what use is pigmentation at the bottom of the sea?
And
Tiny shota Ciel whose father was a sailor and, now that his family is gone, he's found refuge on the water. Sailing away where his troubles can't reach him. He's probably still rich somehow, maybe he becomes a marine biologist so he can actually dive. And that's how he meets Sebastian.
But instead of being easy, terrified prey like most other humans Sebastian encounters, Ciel is fascinated by him. He thinks Sebastian is beautiful. He isn't scared to get close and touch the spines and spikes along Sebastian's body, asking so many questions about their function.
Eventually he has to go back to the surface, he's running low on oxygen, but Sebastian follows him. Ciel gets back on his boat and finds Sebastian waiting at the side of it, ready to keep talking to him. Because he doesn't want to leave this precious human alone, not even because the boy would be tasty - he's hardly big enough to be a proper meal yet - but because Ciel isn't scared of him. Ciel is the only human who hasn't run away with a story of a sea monster and been eaten. Ciel is the only one who actually seems to care.

hi npd teru person from main i have one singular prediction and it's that at some point spender is going to use max's light sensitivity against him in some sort of big dramatic moment
Max will look on Spender's desk and be like "hey that lady in the photograph kind of looks like my m-" and Spender will do the equivalent to shining a flashlight in its eyes and jump out the window

Other than saying something along the lines of "I want you to fuck me," is there anything that the reader could do to get the professors to understand that they want to date them? Like, I know some people see a small peck on the lips as a platonic action, would they it see the same way?
Also, how would a polyamorous route with the professors go?
An old ask I felt like answering minus the last question because that would need its own post.
What the Human would need to do/say to each of the Mature Yanderes to make them realize the Human wants them romantically: (including Clay and Papa Hades)
Warnings; adult themes, adult conversations, student (reader) x yandere professor, mention of addiction, by selecting 'view more' you consent to view content and are of age to view content

"Would you ever want half-Human chicks with me? Because I would be fine with having them for you."
Saying this makes his entire brain freeze in place as he registers the fact you DO NOT see him as your father, but a father to chicks you may have with him. It will take a bit of mental gymnastics for him to finally reach the conclusion that he can't have you as a child, but he can certainly have you as a lover.
Kissing him on the lips or grooming his wing feathers will also yield about the same result, as such things are typically reserved for lovers (excepting helping a chick deal with wing pinfeathers, then it is a parental and platonic interaction).
~Trein~
Tumblr media
"I've heard you have three daughters, feel like having a few more with me?"
It is much more difficult to get Trein on board with mating the Human for the fact that Trein is a seasoned parent and tends to see almost everyone with that parental lens. Not even chaste kisses will yield much from Trein as he is a Sphinx and gentle nose-bumps, kisses, biting, and laying on top of one another is seen as more commonplace platonic behavior than it is romantic. You would have to be very straightforward and direct about your interests for him to pick up the hint.
~Divus~
Tumblr media
(Seal form, keep in mind he does have a Humanoid form that looks almost identical to canon with different cone teeth and the design of his fur coat)
Kiss him. A full kiss on the lips in his Humanoid form will immediately tell his brain that you are interested in romance and not platonic relationship. It will not work if you kiss his snoot while he is in seal form, as seals often touch noses with their friends, partners, and pups. Out of seal form is the way to go.
Similar to Trein, laying on him in seal form, snuggling his fur out of seal form, and cuddling in either form is considered regular social interaction, not inherently romantic. If you want romance with the Selkie, you have to make it clear to him.
~Vargas~
Tumblr media
"You're big into protecting calves. If you're half as interested in protecting your mate, I would be safe for life having a calf or two with you."
As a bull who is territorial and protective, Vargas is likely to put everyone he protects in the same category so he can keep track of them. Once the Human makes it clear they see him in a romantic light is when a new category is made; mate. Suddenly, the safety of the rest of the herd falls to the wayside so he can focus on keeping his mate safe. He is both honored and terrified to be chosen by the Human as a mate and has already forgotten any paternal feelings for romantic ones.
~Sam~
Tumblr media
"... Do you think a child between the two of us could stand sunlight, or would they need to stay enshrouded like you?"
The suggestion of even having a child with him gets Sam's brain running at incredible speeds as he works out your interest. It doesn't take long for him to realize that you are more interested in having him as lover instead of a parent and he will easily fall into romantic territory. He still will keep you safe and protect you, but he is doing it more out of romantic interest instead of platonic.
~Clay~
Tumblr media
"You could always make me part of your troupe as a mate instead of a wayward child."
He's probably gonna fumble his weapons when you say this and stare at you in surprise. He had been under the impression that you preferred the adult students as mates- seeing as you technically were one- over the professors, but he won't argue. If you want him to be your mate, you have to be forward about it and TELL HIM as Yeti are a very social and physical species that sees most physical contact as social interaction. He can be your mate, you just have to let him know.
~Papa Hades~
Tumblr media
"Don't get me wrong, Idia is very sweet. I'm just more interested in the original Shroud. Why choose the younger when the ancestor is readily available?"
You're going to make him laugh. Genuinely. He is laughing in a mixture of surprise and genuine adoration because of how interested you have to come across to make him realize you want him as a lover and not a father figure. Cheesy pick-up lines will also hint to him your interests. If you truly want him, he is yours. What better way to feed his crippling addiction to you than by indulging in intimacy with you? It is the greatest dose of aura that any of them can get.

I would love to see your infodump extensively about the Thebaid (and particularly Polynices and Tydeus, both together and separately) if you're willing? I haven't read it yet and I'm not sure if I will (kinda struggling to find a translation that I don't find awkward to read, my brain just does not take in the words lol) but I love these two and want to know as much as possible
I am asking you mostly because I think you would enjoy talking about them lol but if you don't have time or wouldn't find it entertaining then you don't have to!!
hii thanks so much for the ask! i am literally always down to infodump about the Thebaid and especially about Polynices and/or Tydeus because those two freaks live rent free in my brain. i honestly have so many thoughts on them idk where to even begin lmao.
i guess I can do quick summaries and highlight some things from my previous read of Statius' Thebaid:
[got too long oops]
Tydeus is the son of Oeneus of Calydon and Periboea, daughter of Hipponous. This makes him the half-brother of Meleager (famous for being the host of the Calydonian Boar Hunt), who was the son of Oeneus' first wife Althea.
While this is not mentioned in Statius' Thebaid, Meleager and his siblings (Althea's kids) were likely already dead by the time Tydeus was born: according to other traditions, Oeneus marries Periboea in the aftermath of the quarrel over the Calydonian Boar (wherein Meleager and his brothers were killed, and his sisters were turned to birds by Artemis).
Tydeus does have a full brother in Statius' Thebaid, though; said brother is never named, unfortunately, but in other sources he is named Olenias.
Tydeus is exiled for the crime of killing said brother; we know he feels horror and guilt over it, but this is never brought up again. My personal headcanon is that the killing was accidental; for a very well written headcanon compilation on this, please check out Ley's post! (also: @aster-aspera wrote a fic!)
He encounters Polynices outside the palace of Argos, while trying to take shelter amidst a storm during the night. Neither of them are in the mood to tolerate each other's presence and decide to throw hands about it like mature adults. Here we learn that neither is unwilling to fight dirty - theyre kneeing the other's nuts and trying to jab out the other's eyes and almost end up taking out their swords before Adrastus intervenes.
Now, Tydeus happens to be wearing a boar's hide, and Polynices a lion's skin (notably, both of these animals are associated with the famous monsters of Calydon and Thebes: The Calydonian Boar, and the Sphinx, respectively. The narrative starts associating our two heroes with monsters very early on). Adrastus had received a prophecy telling him to marry his daughters to a lion and a boar - to ''men one mistakes for beasts'' - and so he almost immediately offers Polynices and Tydeus his daughters' hands in marriage.
Polynices is the son of Oedipus and Jocasta - and let's just say he's not exactly proud of the fact. he hesitates to reveal his parentage to Adrastus not once but twice, and when he finally does so, it's in a notably self-pitying manner. Polynices in general has a tendency towards self-deprecation, and though sometimes it's a ploy to gain sympathy, often it comes off as just. genuinely low self-esteem
Polynices and Tydeus become friends almost immediately after the brawl. the narrator in fact compares their relationship to Orestes and Pylades in Book 1, and literally calls them soulmates near the start of Book 2. like in case u had any doubts: these bitches gay
Also, Tydeus is actually more likely to insult Polynices than the other way around: he offhandedly insults Polynices' bloodline in Book 2, and calls him an idiot in Book 7 (to be fair, that time is more so out of concern). Polynices in contrast actually repeatedly praises Tydeus everytime he speaks to him (iirc he refers to him as ''greatest Tydeus'' at least twice). I know its funny for Polynices to make fun of Tydeus in fanworks, but there is literally zero evidence for that ever happening in the Thebaid lmao
Even though Adrastus promises both of them that he'll help them regain their kingdoms, Tydeus seems. honestly just uninterested in regaining Calydon? Like he brings it up exactly once, in his address to Athena after the ambush at the Sphinx's Rock, and never again. on the other hand he's more adamant about going to war against Thebes than even Polynices is - Polynices if anything is honestly very half-hearted about the whole thing, and Tydeus ends up being the real instigator of the war on several occasions.
Also - Tydeus is noted to be utterly incapable of sitting still or tolerating boredom. when he's not training or preparing for war he fills in the time with sports, more specifically wrestling matches. King of hyperactive ADHD tbh
I've also noticed that Tydeus has a tendency to allude to mythical events/past heroes etc. far more than others, in all his speeches? like all characters do it, because it's a staple of the epic genre, but Tydeus notably does it more often than others. i'm not saying his special interest is heroic history but. I'm also not not saying that
ok i actually have. way more things to say but this has already gotten Quite long so ynw. I'll stop yapping here and continue in the reblogs at some other point in time. ty for the ask again and ciao <3

Ok here is some nice Marco vibes for you. 🥰
Imagine you are bound, gagged and blindfolded on a king-size bed. You are on your knees, naked. Suddenly the bed shifts to right. "Are you nervous baby?" You recognised that voice it was Shanks. "Don't be, Marco will be here any second." He whispered in your ear and then bit your lobe. Your breath quickened, you knew this was bound to happen. Marco and Shanks always had this game between them.
"What do you think you're doing? Yoi." Marco stormed in, his face turning almost beastly when he saw your naked form.
"A game. Whoever cums last wins." Shanks said with a sly grin, not revealing that he knew it would be Marco and the price he would win was to stay with Shanks and his bird.
I could see this being like a consensual set up and some sort of shared custody of the reader between Shanks and Marco (spending X months on the Red Force, Y months on the Moby type of deal) and like post Marineford and Payback wars, this is how Shanks finally convinces Marco to just stay on the Red Force and let the weight of his name protect Pops' island.
Or something, I'm not worried about details right now.
I could also see it being pretty dark too. More like Shanks whisked you away and Marco gets back to the Sphinx Island after Wano only to realize you aren't there. You were on the Red Force the whole trip back. All of Shanks' flirting makes so much more sense, and Marco's back on the deck demanding your return.
Ah, but sweet bird, how about a little game?
And it's not Marco who pops off last, it's Shanks who outlasts everyone and collects both as his prize.

(I am the anon who recommended Ulysses Dies at Dawn) I hope you like it!!!! Udad is one of my favourite albums especially because of the world building around The City, so I hope you enjoyed it too!!
I did finish it, I quite liked it! Recommended it to my husband as well as he's a huuuge Epic fan (he's more of a musical theater person than me overall tbh) and probably would also love The Magnus Archives if he ever gave it a shot haha (I haven't touched TMA but I'm aware of its fandom presence on this hellsite LOL)
Overall it was a really cool concept album! Turning the setting of The Odyssey into a sort of post-modern steampunk epic was pretty unique and cool, especially with how they adapted some of the stories into said setting. Turning the riddle of the Sphinx into a literal disease that ages infants from birth to death within a matter of hours? Genius. And while it does take some massive creative liberties by incorporating other mythological characters like Herakles and Ariadne directly into the cast, it still did a pretty good job at creating a unique, thought-provoking, well-rounded plot with overarching themes and motifs in only an hour! I especially appreciate the little lore details they hid in the video descriptions and thumbnail art, I always love hunting for secrets like that haha
My favorite songs were probably My Name is No One, Riddle of the Sphinx, Sirens, and Favoured Son, the vocals are all wonderfully delivered (especially in Sirens, it gave me chills in the best way) and the narrative progression within the lyrics was very compelling especially in relation to the world-building.
I had a couple of least favorites too though, and unfortunately they were Orpheus' and Ariadne's songs which I wish I could love on that basis alone but alas, they just didn't hit the mark for me.
My issue with Trial by Song is largely personal, I can get what the vocalist was going for but that constant high-note vocal waving / shaking just doesn't do it for me, I've never been a fan of that delivery style so even if it was intentional and driven with purpose, it's just not something I can force myself to enjoy. But again, that's largely personal taste, not something I'm gonna hold against the vocalist because aside from that one personal ick they're doing a great job at hitting and maintaining those notes, if it weren't for that one thing I'd probably be way more into it haha
As for Ties That Bind, that one actually isn't a personal issue, at least as far as I can argue LOL On a technical level, the mixing felt very off, the instrumentals were often just way too loud compared to the vocalist which made it difficult to focus on what was being sung (and the mic quality itself didn't seem all that great either). And that problem was compounded by the vocalist's own stylization which threw me off because of how deep her voice suddenly sounded compared to how she had been speaking up until that point; it felt very forced and strained, especially when she tried to switch from those deep chest notes to those higher throat notes. This stylization clashed with the lyrics too, the line deliveries often felt "cramped" where the vocalist almost seemed to be slurring / rushing the words (sometimes they even felt completely off-tempo) which made it hard to make out what she was saying even when I could hear past the instrumentals. And that's not exactly ideal for a musical where the plot is literally being delivered through song LMAO It just felt like it could have used a bit more time in the oven IMO. I don't doubt that the vocalist is skilled, it just felt like the song was often working against her skills rather than with them.
All that said, in spite of those two criticisms I have of it after my first couple listens, I do think this is a great concept album and I was shocked to see it doesn't seem to have much attention on it judging by the view counts, it really deserves more attention and love because the amount of thought and detail that went into creating this world and its narrative and its characters is incredibly impressive.
So if you're like me and also had no clue this album existed until now, I highly suggest checking it out! It's not as big a time commitment as Epic or Hadestown, it only takes an hour to get through. And if you're into gritty steampunk film-noir stuff with lots of mystery and intrigue and twists, it'll probably be right up your alley!

*Random TMNT 2012 (mainly side characters) hc's bcuz hyperfixation
*(this is the best divider to ever exist btw)
Tumblr media
*Warnings: Spoilers for TMNT 2012 ofc, mentions of gender dysphoria and trans related insecurity, transphobia, accidental arson, bullying, manipulation, ptsd, also the tone of the headcanons shift randomly also also typing quirk
Tumblr media
*Chris Bradford is trans. )(e did a full transition, he did hormones, voice training, top and bottom surgery, a few different surgeries to make him look/feel more masculine, all the bells and whistles, even went the extra mile to do procedures to hide his surgery scars. )(e's closeted and does about everything in his power to make sure no one even question that he was assigned female at birth because he's scared of his social image of being the great macho man, Chris Bradford, crumbling.
*Leo mainly or solely uses fandom and fanfic socials like Wattpad, AO3, Amino, Tumblr, and maybe Twitter. She mainly interacts with Space )(eroes and Crognard The Barbarian fan posts and shows a special interest in gender swap aus.
*Later on, post show with Muckman's help the mutants are actually able to freely walk around humans without them completely flipping out and starting a mob to witch hunt after them.
*Speaking of walking around humans, Napoleon and the frogs down in Louisiana are considered local urban legend and humans get really excited when they spot the frogs in the woods.
*Dr. Rockwell is a very big coffee enjoyer and used to secretly steal coffee from the nearby shops around the mighty mutanimals hideout and on the rare occasion when someone caught him and called him out he would always use the excuse of the shops being owned by big corporations.
*Don Visioso is a deadbeat father of 5. )(e also has had multiple wives and many divorces.
*Mondo Gecko will call people posers if he's jealous enough of them.
*Ivan Steranko is also trans but has only had hrt and face masculinizing surgery and refuses to get top and bottom surgery.
*Anton Zeck is incredibly smart and performed extremely well in high school and even got free scholarships for how well he did.
*Shinigami is a big video game nerd and will geek out if anyone mentions one of the games she plays.
*The reason Anton hated the mutant name Mikey gave him at first is because it either sounds a lot like or straight up is a nickname old bullies of him gave in order to make fun of him.
*Premutation, Chris acts transphobic towards Xever (despite Xever being cis) out of jealousy and insecurity.
*Baxter Stockman is either a gay aroace trans mspec nonbinary man or a cishet ally. No in-between.
*Mini April cluster!!!:
*April has a deep love for literature and writes poetry in her spare time.
*She almost burned down the culinary class in her school once.
*She's questioning aroace.
*She felt extra empathy for Muckman because he reminded her of Kirby a little bit.
*She likes to hide stickers around the lair whenever has them on her person.
*She thoroughly enjoys having long conversations with each of the individual turtles. (It's her favorite way to spend time with anyone tbh)
*April does eventually take some time to properly learn Japanese and becomes pretty decent at speaking and reading it.
*)(er and Donnie often like to geek out together whenever they find anything new about aliens (both species they haven't seen yet and ones they know well like the kraang).
*End of the mini April cluster!!!
*Kirby O'Neil is a pretty decent cook. That man can make a mean chicken stew.
*Shinigami actually owns multiple cats. 2 ragdoll, 1 sphinx, 1 Persian, and 3 British shorthairs (I could name them all, but I don't wanna). Also, the majority of them are black cats. She feeds strays, too.
*The last headcanon is much to Karai's dismay because she is somewhat allergic. She gets headaches, her skin gets slightly irritated and she gets the sniffles if she's around cats for too long.
*Casey's younger sister wants to be a hair stylist when she grows up, so Jones let's her do his hair every once in a while and he flexes it to every one at the lair like: "Oh? My hair? Yeah, my sister did it for me. Pretty metal, what she did with it, right?"
*Tigerclaw is the only Foot Clan member to not bully Baxter Stockman.
*Someone manipulated and lied to Alopex in order to make her hate and hunt down her brother.
*After season 4, Baxter Stockman leaves New York and takes over Stockman Industries. (If you're unaware of what that is, it's on billboards that the turtles pass throughout the show the most notable appearance being in the ending scene of the final season 4 episode, 'Owari'.)
*Slash deep down still misses The Newtralizer.
*Leatherhead kind of freaks out (apologies for the bad wording) when someone fully wraps their arms around his neck when hugging him because it reminds him of the restraints the Kraang put him in.
*Pigeon Pete learns how to bake so he can make his own bread.
*The turtles get a Wii (or whatever the universes equivalent is).
*Mondo Gecko gets an old Xbox and plays Tony )(awk games, Bully, and Twisted Metal on it.
*Ivan and Anton actually move out to New Jersey post show.
Tumblr media
*Alr, that's all for now, toodles!!!

Please yap about monster falls stancest I wanna hear all your thoughts about them
YEEEEEEEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
see. i think i said it in the tags of another post earlier but. im obssessed w the idea that they turn into monsters after fords return.
i know a lot of ppl nowadays do monster falls as a thing where like. everyone is just a monster naturally, like humanity is just a bunch of folk tale monster and human hybrids. BUT ive always liked the og idea its a phenomenon in gravity falls the town because of an enchanted spring somewhere in the woods
stan being a gargoyle just makes him complain more. sure, he isnt dealing with as much back or knee pain anymore, but he's literally made of stone. he's heavy, if he stomps too much he may break some of the older wooden floorboards in the shack. he cant fit in his old shoes because of claws, cant wear his fez properly because of his horns, and now he has to worry about a tail he cant properly control yet and wings. and he cant even fly! i like to think his back brand from the portal incident makes it so one of his wings is just basically burnt off. plus, he ripped through his dress shirt and mr mystery coat with his wings. bummerrrrrr. now he looks just as ugly as he feels
and then theres ford, who i think would be fascinated by the spring since he never encountered it during his couple years of study. he's self assured and confident in himself, especially now. he knows hes a freak and doesnt bother hiding it. he's actually really impressed with his physical changes, he gets wings, a tail, large paws that make writing difficult but he manages, and he starts sprouting fur almost all over. he has to resew his jacket and shirt to make holes for his new wings, but he doesnt mind. he does a lot of study on himself and then moves onto the family, taking looots of notes about deer dipper and unicorn mabel.
so. if this happens before weirdmageddon, dude the stans are Hating eachother, but its still tense. ford wants to ask stan a bunch of questions and write notes about his new biology, but he's also really mad at stan. yknow? meanwhile stan is even more jealous that fords the "superior" twin. ford gets to be a colorful, cool looking sphinx thing that can fly, meanwhile stan just got uglier.
if it happens post weirdmageddon during one of the twins summer visits while the stans dock their boat to hang w the kids, then theyre definitely able to ............................... erm. explore. the side effects of being monsters in a more gentle and loving way with eachother. hehe

hehe I've successfully convinced another friend of mine to watch In9!
A few weeks ago, she chatted to me about SEVERANCE (I suppose because s2 is out?), and recommended it because she thought it would be something I would like (and I will watch eventually - I'm 9th in line for 2 copies at the library).
She then said she was looking for something to binge since all of her shows were airing on a weekly basis, so then I thought...here's my chance to mention In9.
Knowing that she liked BLACK MIRROR, my pitch for the show was "a British anthology like BLACK MIRROR, but shorter in episode length and not tech-related". Other than saying the episodes vary in genre, some dark in nature (which I quickly learned was something she liked), I've said nothing else - not about r&s being in (almost) every episode, not about the twists, not which eps are my faves, nothing.
And today she finished s1!
her reactions under the cut
So far, TOM & GERRI is predictably her fave (she initially referred to it as "the Migg episode"). At one point, she said this, in reference to me saying A QUIET NIGHT IN is a funny episode:
Tumblr media
And then at another point, she said this (reaction is mine lol):
Tumblr media
In terms of the rest of s1, she:
wasn't keen on SARDINES. She felt like "there wasn't enough going on, or that the ending was kind of predictable".
liked A QUIET NIGHT IN
said LAST GASP "wasn't her favourite"
forgot to ask about THE UNDERSTUDY
liked the "creepiness" of THE HARROWING but didn't like the twist & ending. Turns out she likes horror but is not big on supernatural stuff...I suppose it's fortunate there aren't that many of those?
By the time she got to LAST GASP, she figured out/recognized r&s being in every episode.
I'm really curious to see what she'll make of the rest of the show, so I may post more updates as she progresses! Initial prediction: she will like THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTINE and THE RIDDLE OF THE SPHINX.

Hi Tumblr Peeps😁For those who have read the Head Cannon(?) fanfic with Shanks, Sanji, and Ace from One Piece and/or read the Head Cannon fanfic with almost the same name except it mentioned Luffy's name (and involving him), I have decided to finally write something similar about Marco as I did in the head cannon fanfic pertaining Shanks, Sanji, and Ace, and the head cannon fanfic about Luffy😃 I think I might have rebloged posts about Marco before, if I remember correctly, however this my 1st time I will be posting (as the original poster) a fanfic about Marco🐦‍🔥🩵
*This fanfic contains 1 or more long paragraphs and 1 or more paragraphs will contain pronouns😅
Tumblr media
🏴‍☠️ Marco's Reaction To His Female S/O Captain, (Female Reader) Being Betrayed By Someone Who Was One Of Her Crewmates🏴‍☠️ (Marco x Female Reader)
Genres: Angst To Comfort and Head Cannon(?) (Warning⚠️: Trigger Warning (Mentions Of Murder) and Language(?))
*When Marco answered his door (considering he's a doctor in Whitebeard's home village in Sphinx he would be shocked (and worried) after seeing the injuries inflicted on you and your surviving crewmates, as he asked what happened to you and your surviving crewmates, before asking what happened with the rest of your crew. When you told Marco the news about the fact you never realized there was traitor on your crew until the day(traitor name) finally decided to make (his/her/their) move to complete (his/her/their) agenda, then kill most of your crew (which the traitor must have not known there are survivors in your crew and seemed to think that your who crew was killed), Marco was very devastated, because he knew full well what's it like to have a traitor (Marshall D Teach, aka Black Beard) in his crew, and to make matters worse most of his crew died, including Portagas D Ace and his Captain, Whitebeard (aka, Edward Newgate) was finished off by Teach himself and Marco even told you and the rest of your crew that he empathizes with the traitor situation and the situation with losing most of his crew, even if he was never the captain of the Whitebeard pirates himself. You would give him strict orders to take care of your surviving crewmates before taking care of you, because you're stubborn about accepting help unless your crew receives help first (plus the rest of your crew were more badly injured than you were).
* While Marco was healing your surviving crewmates, they letted him know that you're taking being betrayed by (traitor name) harder than the rest of your crew members who are still alive, because of (traitor name) was the very first member of your crew and you thought as your very first friend you had ever had. Your crew members also explained that you have been blaming yourself over for not seeing the betrayal coming in the first place, which they explained your well-being has been worse than it used to be and the fact your self worth has been really low to the point where you felt less capable of a captain than you once were, as they would ask Marco, if he would be able to comfort you and help you with your well-being and your self worth. Marco answered, "Ofcourse I would help your captain, guys... After all, (Female Reader Name) is such a precious canary and I will take wonderful care of her... She's also a precious treasure who seems to be resisting help, so I am very optimistic with helping your captain...", as he's very confident in himself (and also confident in you, if he's being honest about it).
*Once Marco started healing you, you have opened up about traitor name, how you felt like this whole thing is your fault, because you never saw the betrayal coming, and even the traitor's last words (you're the only one who heard the traitor insult you) that added huge insult(s) to injury (or the injuries) before (traitor name) left you and your surviving crewmates to die, which really shocked him about everything you've told him, which shows that the rest of your crew were right that your self worth and well being has went down hill, however this was worse than all of your surviving crew members even knew. Marco would comfort you by assuring you, "Don't let this traitor define you, like that babe... From what I'm understanding (s)he/they used you for personal gain... I've been in a very similar situation, as you were... Just because you never saw what was coming from the traitor, that doesn't mean it's your fault in any way possible... (traitor name) was the one who caused this chaos not you... I bet nobody warned you about this and even if anyone did, it's very hard to see coming... As someone who lost most of my crew, especially my captain, I know you haven't had things easy, since you were betrayed, sweetie... You're very much more than what people say about you or to you... You're more worth having around than you believe...". After he would get done physically healing you, he would put both hand on both of your shoulders before he would continue, "You're more of a capable woman, captain, and every cool thing that you are (Female Reader Name)... Don't let traitorous jerks like (him/her/them), tell you differently... My honest opinion is you're still a precious canary on the outside and on the inside, no matter what people criticize about you, as a captain", which the next thing Marco did was kiss your lips, as you would proceed to blush. Marco does seem like someone who's affectionate with you in private, however he figured since he's comforting you, he would atleast find something to help you get the traitor off your
*After Marco healed you up, he offered you and the rest of your crew to live in the village of Sphinx, which is obvious you would be living with Marco, which you and the rest of your crewmates accepted his offer to live in Sphinx. Marco also vowed, if he finds (traitor name) or if traitor name was to hunt for you and your crew and lays anything on you, or your surviving crew members, or any of the villagers (or attack the village) then he will make the traitor wish ((s)he/they) never even thought of betraying you nor the rest of your crew to begin with. And Marco has meant every word of what he said about (traitor name), too. Your crew is precious to him and you're actually the most precious treasure that he could ever ask for, as no one is allowed to harm you in anyway, and there would be hell to pay when it comes what (traitor name) did to you and your surviving crewmates.

Delphi: museum.
Warning: long post, many images.
A while ago, I went to Greece with my dad and while there, we stopped at Delphi. It was an amazing experience. I've been wanting to share the images and I'm now getting to it! This will be split into two parts, the first (this post) about the museum and the second about the site.
This post will include the images of the statues and the explanation boards next to them in text form, as with the images of them it is more than 30 images. Message or comment if you'd like a picture of the explanation boards! It won't include everything in the museum, just what I thought was interesting. I'll try to seperate things into "chapters" to make them more easily digestible. I will add image ID in the ALT to almost every pic. If there is no ALT attached, it means I'm not entirely sure which part is being depicted, but the text below explaining the scene should contain it, I just can't attach it.
East Side: beginnings of Trojan War.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An assembly of the gods is represented on the east side of the frieze. Gods protecting the Trojans are seated to the left: Ares, Aphrodite, Artemis, Apollo and Zeus in a luxurious throne. The (now lost) figure of Thetis, mother of Achilles, would be touching Zeus's knees, pleading for her son's safety. Goddesses-protecting the Achaeans (Athena, Hera and Demeter) are seated to the right. A little further starts the vivid narration of the Trojan War. Round the body of a dead warrior Trojan heroes (to the left) fight against Achaeans (to the right). Closing the scene, the elderly figure of Nestor urges the Achaeans to win the battle.
North Side: Gigantomachy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Subject-matter of the north side is the Gigantomachy, the battle of the Olympian gods against the Giants, children of Gaia. The myth of the conflict, which was victorious for the gods, is a favourite theme in ancient Greek art, symbolizing the triumph of order and civilization over savagery and anarchy. The gods fight hard to subdue the giants, who attack from the right with spears, swords and stones. Some of them from the left, Hephaistos - dressed in a short chiton, typical of craftsmen - stands in front of his bellows preparing fire-balls. Nearby are Demeter and Kore, then Dionysus in a panther's skin and Cybele on a chariot drawn by lions. The pair of gods whose helmet-crest is shaped like a kantharos (vase) and he is named after this. The inscription on the shield of the fourth giant refers to the sculptor of the relief but, unfortunately, his name is not preserved. Following would be Zeus on his chariot, then Hera, Athena, Ares armed with helmet and shield, and Hermes wearing the conical pilos, characteristic of Arcadian shepherds. The last figure is fragmentary - probably Poseidon accompanied by his wife, Amphitrite.
West Side: Judgment of Paris (probably).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The few figures preserved from the west side of the frieze lead to the assumption that here the subject was the judgment of Paris at the beauty contest among Athena, Aphrodite and Hera. He voted for Aphrodite and, in return, earned the most beautiful woman in the world, Helene, the wife of king Menelaos. It was her abduction that triggered the Trojan War. First of the contestants is goddess Athena, who appears as if she is mounting her winged chariot. Hermes frames the scene to the left. Aphrodite is graciously stepping of her own chariot, touching her necklace with a coquettish gesture. The missing part of the frieze would feature Hera, ready for departure after her unsuccessful participation. Last would be the judge Paris.
Sphinx.
Tumblr media
In about 560 BC, preceding the construction of the luxurious Siphnian treasury, another rich island of the Cyclades, Naxos, sends a grandiose offering to Apollo of Delphi: the statue of the mythical Sphinx, whose the colossal size, imposing outlook and location in the sanctuary (near the rock of Sibylla and in the foreground of the polygonal retaining wall of the temple) commemorates the political and artistic supremacy of Naxos in the archaic era. The daemonic creature with the female face and the enigmatic smile, the body of a lion and wings of a bird, was supposed to be warding off the evil. It was seated on the capital of the very tall Ionic column, regarded as the oldest element in the Ionic order at Delphi. In total, the Naxian dedication reached 12.50m in height. Carved in a huge block of Naxian marble, the Sphinx combines the solid and firm structure with a tendency for decoration in rendering the hair, breast and wings, which reduces the impression of massive volume. As we learn from an inscription of the 4th c. BC incised on the column base, the priests of Apollo honoured the people of Naxos with the privilege of promanteia, that is, priority in receiving an oracle.

The dispute between Heracles and Apollo for the Delphic tripod was a very popular illustrated theme in ancient times, a fact that underlines the gravity of the Delphic oracle and its prophecies. In fact, Apollo is recognized as the most important oracular god, who responded to the inner need of humans to know their future and make the right decisions. At Delphi, consultations took place once a month in the temple's adyton, where the god's will was expressed through the inarticulate cries of Pythia, which the priests then interpreted and most probably put into verse. Six hundred and fifteen prophecies have been saved in literary sources and on a very limited number of inscriptions. They were in answer to various questions of a military, religious, state-related or personal nature, such as forming a family, winning at the games etc. The interpretation of these prophecies (oracles) was always ambiguous, which meant that they could be interpreted by the person asking the question; this is why Apollo was also known as Loxias, which meant oblique or ambiguous.
West Pediment of the Temple of Apollo: archaic and classical.
Tumblr media
The west pediment of the archaic temple of Apollo, depicting the Gigantomachy (battle between the Olympian gods and giants). From the left part of the composition the figures have been preserved of a giant on his knees (Enceladus?), Athena wearing a breastplate and charging, the lower part of a male figure (perhaps Dionysus) and fragments of two horses from Zeus' chariot which occupied the centre of the pediment. Traces of rich colour decoration are preserved on the stuccoed poros figures (510-500 BC). This is the pediment admired by the women of the chorus in Euripides' lon:
But also here in this temple of divine Loxias [Apollo], son of Leto ... observe the battle of the Giants painted on the stone walls. ... See there, where the goddess Athena strikes Enceladus and brandishes her openwork gorgon shield. (Eur. Ion 190 et seq.)
Tumblr media
The west pediment of the classical Temple of Apollo, depicting Dionysus among the Thyiads (women in the god's entourage who, according to poetic tradition, held dances on Mt. Parnassus). In the centre stands Dionysus, in the rare iconographic type of the cithara (type of lyre) player. He is wearing a tunic (chiton) girt below the chest, a mantle (himation) draped over his shoulders and the characteristic mitra (headband) of the initiated. The cithara he holds in his left hand places him on equal terms with the god of music, Apollo, and reconciles the different realms of the two deities who are both depicted on the same temple. Work of the Athenian sculptors Praxias and Androsthenes, circa 330 BC.
East Pediment of the Temple of Apollo: archaic and classical.
Tumblr media
The east pediment of the archaic temple of Apollo, a work of Parian marble. The centre of the pediment was occupied by Apollo's four-horse chariot framed by kouroi (young men) and korai (young women). In both corners are animal groups depicting a lion mauling a gentle beast. The interpretation of the subject is based on verses from Aeschylus' Eumenides, in which the Pythia stands before the temple of Apollo and narrates the god's arrival at Delphi from Athens. Apollo is seen off by the Athenians and greeted with great honours by the people of Delphi and their king, Delphos (510-500 BC).
And thence he (Apollo) came unto this land of Parnassus and at his side, with awe revering him, were the children of Hephaestus, preparing the way and taming the land that once was wilderness. And he was received with honour by all the people and Delphos, their chieftain-king. (Aesch. Eumenides 12-16)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The east pediment of the classical Temple of Apollo, depicting Apollo, Leto and Artemis among the Muses. The god is seated on a tripod in the centre, wearing a mantle (himation) that leaves his chest bare. He is holding a branch of laurel and a wide shallow cup (phiale), symbols of his oracle. The Muses, some standing and others seated in a rocky place, provide the link between the deity and the world of arts and letters. Wark of the Athenian sculptors Praxias and Androsthenes, circa 330 BC.
Intermission: more banners.
In ancient Greek mythology, Apollo is presented as the patron of musical creation, poetry and the arts, a representative of moderation and harmony. According to Hesiod, singers and guitarists originated from Apollo himself, just like kings did from Zeus. Apollo accompanied the song and dance of the Muses with his lyre, which is why he was called Mousagetes (Leader of the Muses). It is also why Apollo is often depicted as a Kitharoidos holding his lyre with seven strings, both in the art of ancient Greece and western Europe. Delphi was inextricably tied to music. According to the tradition, when Apollo returned from the north in spring, he was serenaded by the song of the cicadas, nightingales and swallows, and nature was appeased. Very important musical contests also took place at the sanctuary; evidence of those games consist the inscribed verses of two hymns to Apollo from the Athenian Treasury, considered to be the oldest surviving "musical compositions" of classical antiquity, dating back to the 2nd century BC.
Nike.
Tumblr media
In antiquity, the winged goddess Nike was considered to be the one who expressed the will of the gods: she announced, rewarded and glorified the victors. We often encounter the figure of Nike in the plastic arts, pottery, coroplasty and goldsmithing. The Nikes found at the sanctuary of Delphi come from public buildings, where they were used as symbols of victory in literal or metaphorical battlefields. The topic of the founding myth behind the Delphi oracle was the slaying of the dragon, namely the victory of Apollo against Python, son of the first goddess of the sanctuary, Gaea. In memory of this victory, panhellenic festivals were held in Apollo's honour, the infamous Pythian Games. Every four years, crowds arrived in Delphi from every corner of the ancient world, since the games constituted an excellent opportunity to interact socially, to practice diplomacy and to exhibit political power. Their focal point were the music and athletic games, which conferred unprecedented fame and glory upon the winners and their cities.
The Tholos.
The most impressive monument in the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, the tholos, stands out for its unusual circular shape and partial reconstruction, in tvis celebrated treatise De architectura ('On architecture"), Vitruvius attributes the design of the building to Theodoros of Phocaea or Phocis. All orders of classical dungn are successfully represented in the structure. The 20 columns of the outer doric peristyle are crowned by a frieze with metopes in relief. The circular sekos, the central part of the edifice with built walls, is also crowned by a doric frieze with triglyphs and metopes in relief, but smaller in size. A bench which ran along the inner circumference of the sekos supported 10 engaged half-columns in the corinthian order. The material used for the building was white marble from the quarries of Mt. Penteli and the island of Paros (particularly for the metopes in relief), an well as dark limestone from Eleusis for highlighting certain structural details. Marble was also used for the roof, the form of which has long been a subject of debate, especially after two series of simas (eaves troughs) were attributed to it, and it is theoretically restored as conical or octagonal, its ends were decorated with acrofena-statues of female figures in vivid, almost dancing movement. The tholos, one of the most beautiful buildings of antiquity, was erected circa 380 BC. Its actual function remains unknown and many hypotheses have been put forward. It has been associated with chthonic cult and variously interpreted as a heroon, temple, armoury, etc. It is worth noting that Pausanias does not refer to the tholos as a temple and in fact makes no mention whatsoever to the building in his Description of Greece. The subjects of the large exterior metopes of the tholos were the Amazonomachy and Centauromachy, rendered with impressive realism and plasticity. With the contortion of the bodies, the sculptor manages to impart a sense of momentary motion, while the style and clothing of the warriors bring to mind the relief sculptures that adormed the temple of Apollo at Bassai near the ancient city of Phigalia and the temple of Asklepios at Epidauros. The smaller interior metopes of the thelos possibly depicted a congregation of the gods, to which the static or motionless figures have been attributed, and a battle scene, to which the more active figures belong. The sculptors of the metopes displayed incomparable skill in working the marble and rendering details. The high relief, freedom of movement and intensity of action bring the scenes to life, while at the same time introducing a pioneering artistic movement to the iconographic tradition of the 4th century BC, which competes with sculpture in the round.
Antinoos.
Tumblr media
Cult statue of Antinoos, a youth of extraordinary beauty from Bithynia, beloved companion of the Emperor Hadrian. Antinoos had barely reached adulthood when he drowned in the Nile. He was thereafter heroised and worshipped as a demigod in many parts of the Eastern Empire by order of the emperor. One of the most beautiful statues of the youth was erected in the sanctuary at Delphi. It was found very well preserved during excavations, still shining thanks to the special oil used in antiquity to polish the 'skin' of marble cult statues. Holes are still visible in the profuse hair, which were used to attach a bronze wreath of laurel leaves on the head. The work is representative of classicism at the time of the philhellene Emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD). With its heroic-divine nudity, the statue follows the stylistic traditions of the great 5th and 4th century BC artists, but lacks the inner vitality of the archetypes.

so with the show gone, what's your headcanon on the ventures's future? have the creators mentioned anything about it?
A few things in passing but not too much. Namely just that Dean is gonna lose his hair and that Hank will eventually step foot in Mars as an adventurer. I think Doc and Jackson said as much that they want to keep the door open for future stories in case they do get to come back, and that they'll always have new things they'll want to do, but anyway yes okay, post-show headcanons:
Tumblr media
Doc burns through Jonas Jr's fortune and for the most part remains the same, but he eventually achieves a true breakthrough of his own: a permanent solution to hair loss. It comes with a few little side effect mutations but for the most part it does work and Doc is, reasonably pretty happy that for once he gets something to his name that he actually made and isn't something horrible done to him. "Reasonably happy" is as happy as Rusty is ever allowed to get, and he dies a few weeks later by something predictably stupid, like auto-erotic asphyxiation.
It's shitty, Dr Orpheus cries over it, but everyone kinda saw it coming.
Most of Doc's assets get seized and the boys actually don't get much, he forgot to put them in the will because he made it back when he still had the clone farm. Rusty's last wish is to be cremated so nobody gets to clone him, and for his ashes to be scattered at Spanakopita, which has become a big White Lotus-esque resort island since Doc's last visit, built by Giorgo almost entirely off the Venture fortune. On the boat ride to Spanakopita, (WHITE LOTUS SEASON 2 SPOILERS) Sgt Hatred dies exactly like Tanya did and nobody bothers to fish his body back up.
Eventually some Rusty clones will pop up over the years, one of which is gonna be on that offscreen Rusty that went on the Cleveland Time Machine adventure with Billy. Once they leave Rusty's science basement, Billy and Pete White will never make it to the big leagues, but they'll pretty much be together until the end, and they are gonna go on some real weird adventures, like freaky Doom Patrol stuff, St.Cloud is gonna get up to some shit in the future once he bumbles into becoming rich enough to warp space-time around him just by existing and turn into the world's first Level 100 antagonist by the least amount of effort humanly possible. Actually the whole world is gonna get a lot weirder in the future, when stuff like the cloning tech and anti-gravity music boxes bleed over into general public use.
Tumblr media
At some point the Earth will be menaced by the return of General Treister, who has absorbed enough cosmic radiation to become Galactus (this one was mentioned in the artbook as something they'd play around with, if they ever brought Treister back). He will be stopped from devouring the planet by a joint effort between Hank Venture, the Guild and the OSI, and Hunter Gathers will sacrifice herself in the process, passing the OSI's leadership to Shore Leave, who will bring SPHINX back every few months just so he has an excuse to interject SPHINX! into sentences again for funsies. Brock essentially becomes the OSI's equivalent to Red Death: basically retired, but he goes on assignments a couple times per year or gets brought onboard for decision-making, some part of him actually does kinda like this life and he stands by the friends he's made in it. He keeps touch with the Ventures but for the most part he flies solo. At some point he will have enough illegitimate children across the world for them to start their own super spy group.
Hank becomes an adventurer, and for the most part he just remains Hank as always. He makes a lot of strange alliances all over the place, he doesn't resort as much to his entourage of personas but some still come up on occasion (the double life of Enrico Matassa is one for the history books), he reforms Shallow Gravy with Dermott (who is totally 100% getting kicked out of the OSI) and Gary and HELPeR and Scare Bear playing the triangle, for the most part he lives up to the idea of being more "Rusty Venture" than Rusty himself ever was and he becomes like the first major Venture adventurer who's not some kind of monster. He completely and totally blows out any chance at settling down into normalcy, but he lives an exciting life. 50/50 on him either dying young doing something incredibly stupid and careless, or somehow stumbling his way into full-blown Highlander immortality just as 21 foresaw.
Dean I think stays in New York full time and is another 50/50 on him: he's either gonna succeed in having a normal life, or he's becoming a villain, I'm taking the fandom side on this one, villain Dean is not the most exciting idea in the world but it has some legs to it and I can't see him being anything else if he's gotta be a part of that binary whether he likes it or not. In the former, I imagine he finishes college, maybe gets a degree in something lowkey, probably changes his name and settles down with somebody and stops answering most calls, basically makes it like Professor Van Helping in that his life is okay and that's just how he wants it. Villain Dean I think happens in largely a similar way to how it happened to Dr Girlfriend taking over the Guild: not something they wanted or planned to, but it's the best way to keep things stable and keep themselves afloat amidst the chaos that surrounds them whether they want it or not. Maybe he finally listens to King Crimson and it breaks his brain into mad science a bit, as it tends to do, or maybe he invokes his blood right to appoint himself Sovereign but otherwise keeps hands-free of the Guild, and only does it so the Guild leaves him alone and he can boss other villains into standing down. He's gonna have freaks in costume trying to get him for the rest of his life so, fuck it, when in Rome or something.
Tumblr media
At some point in the very near future Mantilla takes over the Peril Partnership and guts it to make ARCH a real thing, and maybe in the future ARCH kinda replaces the Guild at the forefront of supervillain institutions, with the Guild having the final word in matters of diplomacy and the old guard and ARCH as the new high-tech face of things. She never succeeds in getting to be besties with Dr Girlfriend, but she does hit it off nicely with Sirena, who takes over after Wide Wale and fires basically everyone that was still around after the Morpho saga. The Order of the Triad actually does succeed in making it pretty big, with comparatively few players but some very powerful additions like Lila, Red Death's daughter, and some of Jefferson's old buddies. Definitely not Triana though, she's got better to do than run with her dad's crew. Somehow HELPeR winds up joining and gets married to the Pants Golem.
Gary is gonna keep on being Henchman 21 up until the moment The Monarch dies, at which point he might actually undergo another big transformation of the self and will probably just outright become a sidekick to the heroes. He's never going to truly be a hero or a villain himself, he gave those a try and he's pretty firmly the kind of guy that only comes to life when someone else tells him what to do, so I imagine he's gonna bounce around until he finds something he finds fulfilling, will probably go on plenty of adventures with Hank. Really by this point he's already an honorary Venture, with The Monarch out of the picture so goes the pretense. Sheila, I think she just runs the Guild for as long as she can, probably reformulates it into something more sustainable by the end of her run. Sheila's arc in the show is about her climbing the ranks and moving away from her role as a number two, and distancing herself more from The Monarch because of it, and she's not going back to her old life so I think she's just fully going to remain The Sovereign up until she gets too sick of it, possibly moves into politics at Radical Left's suggestion and hands the Guild off to Phantom Limb. Maybe even becomes President of the United States for a bit, if anyone in the cast is becoming president it's really gotta be her. Or maybe not since she's overqualified, but still, if she does, in the process she hands the Guild to Phantom Limb, who basically makes it a drinking buddies gentleman's club and is too retired and rich and old to care much about anything anymore.
Tumblr media
The movie ends with a pretty firm statement that The Monarch is just going to keep on being The Monarch no matter what and that he will in fact never stop trying to arch Rusty, and he's had like a million chances to kill Doc by now and didn't seize any of them so really yes he will just keep doing this until one or both pass. And I'm definitely thinking Doc goes first, Malcolm is torn between celebrating and flipping the fuck out that Doc DARED to not let The Mighty Monarch kill him, and for a brief moment he's completely and totally unsure as to what the fuck is he going to do with his life. He's like this close to genuinely trying to turn his life around and try to be a Blue Morpho-esque hero again if only because he and Gary had some good times and, y'know by this point he hates the Guild more so than the OSI, but then the Rusty clones show up and, you know what, fine, I can work with this, THE SWEET RELEASE OF DEATH IS NO MATCH FOR THE ACID CUMSHOT OF VENGEANCE, DOCTOR VENTURE, MUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! and then he crashes his new butterglider into a cliffside Wile E.Coyote style and he dies like two weeks into a new plan.
Gary cries, Sheila's heartbroken, but again, they and everyone totally saw this coming.

Gun companies and their reputations
hello murder drones fans! here's a random idea i wanted to post. as we know, people love making fankids. especially with Uzi, and with uzi, people are going to want to name their fankids after guns. ive already seen it, and I understand it. its sick as hell!
however, these are gun companies were talking about, and the gun industry does actually have loads and loads of drama. some of these companies also do not have your best interests in mind. I personally, would not name my son after a gun company with a systemic sexual harassment lawsuit against it, or from a company that fucks over its customers.
Im gonna be compiling a list of gun companies with names that could be used as names for a person, and giving some background on the company and their standing in the market. I'll try to make it alphabetical, and if you see any other company names you want me to add and give insight on, I'll add it with an edit.
Lemme know if i get anything wrong as well! I'm writing most of this down from memory over my experiences with these guns and companies
Armalite - I suppose you could use this as a name?? They used to be owned by Fairchild Corp, and made the first versions of the Ar-15 for the US military, before selling the design to Colt for mass production. The AR-15 was originally designed as full auto btw. the M16 is an Ar15, not every Ar15 is an M16. They make guns still, but they're a far cry from the original Armalite. I haven't heard of anything bad about them particularly.
Beretta - The oldest still standing gun company on the planet, they are almost 500 years old now. They've made derivatives of the Walther P38 for about a century now, also known as the Beretta 92 or M9, and they make sporting and combat shotguns, as well as some newer stuff like the APX striker fired pistols and CX4 carbines. When NFTs were all the rage, they tried to cash in on it with some virtual photos of guns that were worth fake money. It didn't go well, and Beretta support isn't known for responding to customer support emails. Their 92 series of pistols are dead reliable though, just chunky.
Brugger & Thomet - They make good guns, but they're all so ridiculously expensive that it's not worth it at all. They make a lot of popular suppressors, and as a company is reported to pay very well.
Colt - Recently bought out by CZ, Colt is one of oldest American gun companies. They were known for producing the 1911 designed by John Browning, and the AR-15 by Eugene Stoner and Jim Sullivan. Colt did not design the Ar-15, that was Stoner and Sullivan at Armalite when the Airforce requested a new rifle because the M14 was dogshit. Colt made AR-15s for a long time before FN Herstal made a better version (The M16A4, and later the M4) that met the military's needs. Colt has very little drama that's notable, but in the 80s-90s they made the All American 2000, which was called a bad gun in retrospect by every youtuber on the planet. The gun worked perfectly fine, it was reliable, it just has a very long and heavy trigger.
CZ - Mentioned because of its clones and their names. Originally owned by the Czechoslovakian government, before being split off into a private company, they make some modern looking pistols, the CZ-75 and modern sporting derivatives, as well as assault rifles, sporting shotguns, and some bolt action rifles. There's nothing much of note, other than that CZ fans will absolutely have to let you know they're a CZ fan. They're guns are pretty fine, and ive never heard of any reliability issues. the CZ-75 is also a gun thats been used as a base for other companies guns such as IWI's Jericho 941 and Baby Desert Eagle, Tanfoglio's clones, SAR's clones, B&T's Mark 2, the Armalite AR-24, the Springfield P9, the Sphinx SDP- Actually, here's a chart of how many CZ-75 clones there are, its MASSIVE. People love copying this gun. Dont buy a clone, just get a CZ-75.
Franchi - A long time ago they made the LF-57 SMG, and they made the SPAS-12 shotgun. They were bought by Beretta and Beretta discontinued the SPAS-12 so that Beretta could sell their combat shotguns to police and military instead. Franch makes hunting and sporting shotguns now. The Spas-12 was never a good shotgun because it was ridiculously heavy and chunky, and loading it was a pain in the ass compared to other shotguns that dont need locked loading gates.
Glock - They make exactly one gun in over 31 different configurations. These things are used by everyone and the only reason one is going to malfunction is if you stick aftermarket parts in it. This is the safest gun you could possibly buy, but they fit some people's hands badly. This is like the default price for a gun at 550 USD
Heckler and Koch (HK) - They make the MP5, UMP, G36, HK416, USP, and VP9. They're kinda overpriced and over hyped. The MP7 is a bad gun btw
Kel-tec - (I suppose you could use "Kel") Someone take the crack away from their engineers. They make cheaper guns that are sometimes the absolute best thing on the market (CP33), and other times just a very weird product that doesn't make sense to exist (PR57).
IWI/IMI - The gun company sorta owned by the state of Isreal, their one claim to fame is the Uzi, made by Uziel Gal, who was supposedly kind of an asshole. Every gun they made afterwards was licensed, they just make stuff for the isreali military, and sell stuff to the US too. They make an Ar-15 clone called the "ZION-15". Let that sit in your mind before you buy something from them. They also make the Uzi Pro, which is a micro uzi pistol, with a plastic receiver to make it cheaper to manufacture than the original Uzi's. Its really ugly, overpriced, and you're better off buying a Mac 10 from Masterpiece Arms. IWI used to make the Desert Eagle, before Magnum research started making everything in the USA instead of licensing it to Isreal. Magnum Research is owned by Khar Arms now.
2025-01-26: I forgot, but I was intending to mention IWI because of their gun names, the Uzi, the Galil, and Jericho
Khar Arms - There is nothing to say about this company, I believe they only stay in business because of the Desert Eagle. They make some basic pistols that actually look unique, but there's nothing else, I would assume their guns are reliable at least.
Kimber - A company that was so dogshit at making the 1911, that everyone from Boomers to Zoomers knew not to buy their products. Supposedly they're starting to get out of their rut, and they make some pretty looking 1911 pistols.
Sturm Ruger - American gun company where the owner was actually a bit of a dick and liked to comply with gun restrictions, and supported magazine capacity restrictions. Its likely why the Ruger 10/22 and Mark pistols only held 10 rounds until Ruger as a company started making 25 round stick mags for the 10/22. They also made the Mini-14 which is a smaller version of the M14. Its not that good, but its used frequently against the Ar15 in bad legality arguments. All of their current products are pretty reliable and affordable, besides the previous CEO's opinions, they're a decent company.
Sig Sauer - DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY. This is not even about the moral issues like with IWI, SIG SAUER USA GUNS ARE NOT SAFE. Sig Sauer USA is a completely seperate company from the old German Sig Sauer, and the Swiss SIG. Sig now makes containers, Sig Sauer Germany was closed down because they kept trafficking arms, and Sig Sauer USA is now owned by Ron Cohen, who has not been able to answer why their P320s keep shooting randomly. Their products are notoriously unreliable, of poor quality, using parts usually made in 3rd world countries in order to be cheaper, and they had a lawsuit against them for an old women who was constantly sexually harassed by her supervisor at the USA factories. Their MCX rifles and SMGs are known to break randomly, the Cross had a safety issue where the gun could fire upon closing the bolt, the SPEAR has barrel mounting issues where with only your bare hands, could BEND the barrel mount side to side. They are an awful company and have nothing to do with the old Sig 550 rifles and P226 or P210 pistols that were actually decent, if a bit outdated. Bad company, bad to mediocre guns. There are huge rumors that Sig Sauer USA is in bed with some higher ups in the US Military, as Sig won the contract for the military's new service pistol, new service rifle, new service beltfed machine gun and for service ammunition production. Fudd Blasters and Protraband on youtube have made videos on them, explaining in detail what is bad about them. Their guns aren't even that revolutionary or anything, they're just cheap.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSlleZOxy9g
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RIvHsZZ9ho
Smith & Wesson - Based in the US, they chase police contracts mainly. Their guns are actually pretty dang good, priced decently, although they mainly chase whatever other companies are doing. I personally wouldn't buy from them because they support the police so much.
Springfield - The Springfield armory that exists now is not that same Springfield armory that the US Government owned for producing guns. Springfield now is known for importing guns of dubious quality and function from Croatia. They used to import/make clones of HK G3 rifles, poorly. They paid a bunch of shills a while back when they brought in the VHS-2 rifle into the US to call the gun a really good product, but the gun was found out to be very mediocre and the shills were selling their guns after making reviews to bank on the artificial market.
Taurus - Before they started making their own G2 and G3 pistols, they got their entire name for copying Beretta pistols and S&W revolvers, cheaply. The G2 and G3 are affordable pistols that are actually very reliable, and thus are usually owned by people in poor situations. There's not much wrong about them as a company, besides making the Taurus Judge.
Walther - German company who made uhm, various, guns for a certain... Political party during the first half of the 1900s (Similar to BMW), they almost exclusively make sporting and defense pistols now. The Walther P99 and PDP pistols are very good, and they make various Olympic style pistols and rifles for professional shooting like the GSP Expert. 100 years ago, we would be calling them the enemy, but currently they make guns for civilians and while they do sell the PDP towards police, I can't think of any notable use it has. The Walther P99 was extremely popular with police in the 90s though, and it's silloette is used on "No guns allowed" signs frequently.

My Tu'la and Liochant Messy Summary post!
@anonmothgod chatted with me a bit and gave me the idea to do a little summary post! This will be long and messy
KEY ELEMENTS BEFORE WE GET STARTED
Temple of Menphia - Menphia is the major divine of Tu'la so she is the center of worship. Unlike the Irene churches, they do not have priest, nuns, or really a clergy, instead they train lawyers, judges, and more importantly warriors. The goal of the church is to be the embodiment of righteous fury while protecting people from mistreatment.
Another part of it is also killing shadow knights, with members of the church being given magical tattoos that prevent them from turning into shadow knights/making it incredibly difficult to do so. They are given tattoos of the sun on the palm of their hands and one covering their back, for the sun cannot get to the nether. Essentially, they aren't nuns but religious warriors.
The two kingdoms of Tu'la - I refer to them as North and South for ease
North Tu'la: The Toraichi Dynasty - Belonging to the northern jungle and plains area of Tu'la, with the royal family all being tiger meif'wa (allegedly). The Toraichi family was originally known to be kind before the head family all died due to a plague that ravaged the kingdom 30 years ago. The leader of the branch family who was deemed the "Last Royal Tiger" took the throne because he was the only viable candidate due to being a tiger, allegedly. He quickly became power hungry and sought to not only take over all of Tu'la but Ru'aun as well. (It's giving england.) The capital of this place is Havas and the region is based on China and Japan.
South Tu'la: The Desert of Sa'Haresha - This area is almost completely desert and savannah, the dryer half to the norths hot and humid climate. Due to the location, this area had a high sense of community and while they did have a royal family, one composed of lion meif'was , they were more symbolic since a lot of desert villages kept to themselves. This area has the highest amount of Menphia temples The considered capital was Solspear, and region is based on India. The Tu'la continent meaning to represent Asia to Ru'auns Europe.
POPULATION/Big Cat Meif'was - Big cat meif'was are to meif'wa what werewolves are to the weredogs of mystreet. Just bigger breeds than the domesticated ones who can turn into a big animal. ~55% of the population of Tu'la is meif'wa, 32% humans, 12% werewolves, 1% others/werewolf-meif'wa hybrids. The majority of the human population in Tu'la are part meif'wa in some capacity and 15% of the population are big cat meif'was. (cheetahs, leopards, lynx, and lions being the most common). Non-ears and tail half meif'wa and called Sphinxes after the hairless cat, and werewolf and meif'wa mixes are essentially were-hyenas cause hyenas look like dogs but are closer in the cat family than canine.
NOW ONTO MORE LORE! This will kind of be a mess so bare with me. (Broken up into parts for ease)
LIOCHANT EARLY LIFE
Liochant was born to a young couple composing of a human mom and a cheetah meif'wa father. He didn't inherit his fathers meif'wa features but his eyes can slit and he is a lot more agile than most humans. For the first 3 years of his life his parents did try to raise him but since they only had him at 17, they have found that they weren't suited to be parents at the time and gave him up to his mothers temple in Bronze Peak. From there he was raised by the temple and show to have great promise as a warrior.
(Around this time, Aph and the gang are now in the irene dimension)
At the age of 7, Liochant earned his first tattoos, being the sun on his palms and back, by successfully winning a spar with a teacher. (Not a prodigy, teacher was meant to pose a challenge but able to be defeated). From there Liochant managed to continue his training and pass it with flying colors, having gained a large affinity for the khopesh and spear. He was not all tough warrior child though, because he had a large affinity of trying to pet snakes, getting bit, and then having to be healed. He was a kid with spear skills who liked to pet things he shouldn't and he had a normal childhood until he was 10.
THE MASSACRE OF SOUTH TU'LA
During Liochant's time at the temple, a year and a half after aphmau and her gang were trapped in the Irene Dimension, Garte descided to contact the Northern King of Tu'la and they struck a deal. Garte would provide some troops to help the Tiger King invade the south and the king would provide Garte troops to invade Ru'aun. They planned for 2 and a half years, with one of the most instrumental parts being the nephew of the Tiger King, Kai (Yes like Mystreet!) who had been placed with the South Tu'la royal family as an advisor and a peace offering since he was 15. Kai fed information in the belief that it was going to be a peaceful takeover, believing that the poison he was giving the royal family would make them sick enough to give up, he was not expecting to be responsible for a massacre at the age of 20. (Kai lore here if you want to check that out! Do it after reading this)
The invasion and massacre started with the death of the royal family, using the shock to have both northern tu'la soldiers and O'khasis knights invade and slaughter people. Their main focus being the Temples of Menphia given how they contained the strongest warriors. Whoever they didn't slaughter they captured for the purpose of recruiting more soldiers, leaving any children left in the temples to either live on the streets or burn along with their temples.
THE NEXT TWO YEARS
Liochant's temple was one of the first to be attacked since Bronze Peak was one of the closest villages to the capital, so at the ripe age of 10, not only was Liochant now a fully blown orphan but homeless. He had to live on the streets and stole to survive, his training in agility being the only thing keeping him alive as he evaded soldiers. He did managed to keep up with his training, as unconventional as it was, because it was the only thing he had left of home.
While Liochant was on the streets, the Tiger King was dealing with the problem of the fact that none of the captured warriors were turning to his side, so he found another use. Solspear was home to many training pits so he turned what was once a form of worship into his personal entertainment. He made gladiator pits and forced the remaining warriors to fight for his, and all of the nobles of North Tu'la, entertainment. Creating betting rings and turning it to a hunger games esc thing.
Since all of the warriors were no longer on his side and now dying in the pits the King had to come up with a new solution for power. So he descided to take it from Ru'aun. He gathered up all of the remaining O'khasis guards in Tu'la and slaughtered them all. WIth the fact that O'khasis was practically defenseless, he slowly started the process of taking them over. Succeeding after two years, and taking Garte to his new palace in Solspear to rub in his face his success.
LIOCHANTS START OF BEING A GLADIATOR
After taking over O'khasis, the Tiger King was running out of entertainment for the gladiator pits so he descided to turn to a new source of fighters. Criminals. Anyone in South Tu'la who was caught of a crime was now sentenced to being in the gladiator pit, regardless of age or severity of the crime. Crimes as simple as stealing, or "agression" if you are a werewolf were sent to the pit. That is how Liochant, who was caught stealing some fruit at the age of 12, was sentenced to the pit.
His first "benefactor" or owner was a former high ranking soldier of the North Tu'la army. An old man who was essentially given Liochant as a form of payment, a train it so it can become an investment, situation. A do with it what you will. The man was not upper class and was only being treated as such because of his military position, so he made sure to train Liochant so he could rise above. The benefactor wasn't kind nor was he incredibly unkind to Liochant he punished Liochant when he lost but made sure Liochant could always practice his religion. A basic right that someone of Liochant's position wasn't able to have.
Liochant fought and won many fights, mostly against feral animals or others his age or slightly older. He lost a few but never lost his life which was something he was grateful for. The fight that put Liochant on the map though happened when he was 14, where he had to face off a one armed man who had never lost a fight before. It was supposed to be a massacre but the man refused to kill a child and instead requested Liochant to mercy kill him, a request Liochant couldn't deny because of his religion. This win garnered another benefactor to buy him.
HIS MIDDLE CAREER
Liochant was then bought by a former O'khasis noble who had helped in the invasion of O'khasis for money. He married an "exotic" white cat lady from North Tu'la, a gift to him from the king. This man was particularly cruel to Liochant, whenever Liochant lost he made sure that his punishments would hurt but never injure him enough to make it so he couldn't fight. It is also where Liochant recieved the most food insecurity has his meals were often withheld. The only benefit that came from that man was Liochant learning some of the Ru'aun language.
The mans wife, Lady Kanika, was as nice as she could be to Liochant. She was a former priestess of Menphia, though from her northern temples and was a taleneted seamstress and tattooer. She allowed Liochant to practice his religion and gave him the tattoos of protection given to most Menphia warriors after their first kill. The biggest thing she helped Liochant with was his marketing, for she knew that he wasn't just a warrior but had to be entertainment. Made sure that the crowds ate up the "Young teen underdog who fights for his Divine" angle and dressed him up
When Liochant was 17 he had the biggest fight, for the first time the gladiator pit managed to get a fully turned shadow knight. Red eyes and all. The shadow knight has blazed through other warriors until Liochant was sent it. It was another thing of Liochant supposed to be massacred but the entertainment value was higher for it was a Menphia warrior against their sworn enemy, a Shadow Knight. The thing it, Liochant won because he was specifically trained to defeat them. After a long battle, one lasting much longer than the crowd expected, he had lost his weapon but like a snake, he lunged and wrapped himself around his opponent and choked them out before slitting the throat.
After that fight Liochant was bought by a new benefactor who forced him to get two new tattoos, snakes running up his arms before their heads meat on his chest, his symbol of Menphia and protecting tattoo between them. He gained the name Pit Viper and his new benefactor ran wild but it wasn't all fun and games, for while Liochant was being shown off the man was cruel. A noble whose trade was in medicinal herbs and poisons who wasn't at the pits to make money but for the pure enjoyment of bloodshed had his hand on Liochant.
THE END OF HIS GLADIATOR CAREER
(At this point, the gang is now out of the Irene dimension)
When Liochant was 20 he was finally put in a fight he refused to participate it. A small child, no older than 14 who had just been turned into a shadow knight was against him. While Liochant knew that he didn't have to kill them in order to win, the child was shaking so much that the idea of knocking them out was vile. Thus he let himself lose, and that is when his owner descided to give him the worst possible punishment.
After Liochant's back was torn to shreds, the large sun now covered in crisscrossed wounds, he had scorpion venom poured onto his back, the venom causing him not only extreme pain but not allowing his back to even close for six months, and during this time he was still forced to fight. When his benefactor got bored with him, he was then pawned off to his last benefactor, the Scorpion of Tu'la, Kai the Traitor.
After Tu'las invasion of O'khasis, guilt started eating Kai alive so he made it his mission to help free gladiators. So he started gaining the reputation of his gladiators and servants "disappearing", so when people were sick of their gladiators, they would send them to him so they would die. Liochant was no different so after a year and a half of Kai playing the role of cruel owner and Liochant earning him more money in the pit, he managed to send Liochant off to Ru'aun with a khopesh, some money, and a shit ton of clothes because Kai had no idea how a poor person survives. FASHION! (For expanded, check out Kai lore)
(During this time, Lilith is found and Garroth is freed)
LIOCHANT IN RU'AUN
So after coming to Ru'aun at 22 and a half Liochant had to find work but his only skills were "fight good" and he had no formal education nor did he understand the language so he turned to the guard academy. Since it was rather normal for 20-24 year olds to be entered into the guard academy if they already had fighting experience, nobody batted an eye at him unless he talked. Something he never did much since becoming a gladiator.
From their, Liochant managed to learn the language and make his way through the academy rather quickly. Having 10 years of battle experience proved him incredibly beneficial but not too beneficial as Liochant had found a love of losing. Since his life wasn't on the line he found losing not be a big deal. He also started cooking because while he cooked often with one of the Temple Maidens when he was young, his history of food scarcity made him obsess over it.
Soon Liochant became part of the dragon ward and was assigned to watch over Alina and Lilith, as he was the most patient. By this time Liochant gained a better grasp on the language and kept his history hidden enough. The biggest benefit of now guarding children is learning to reading with them, for he still can't read much of the language. Seriously, the now 26 year old man has a sad history but the patience of the saint, which is why in my fic he and Garroth are getting shipped because I need Garroth to have his ass handed to him. And boy does he.
SIDE BAR: Liochant's full name is Lais Ravanah Havilah, meaning Lion's Chant of the Sands. He was asked to provide his name when entering the guard academy and he thought he needed to translate it. The guard who was listening to him barely understood him due to his accent and quiet voice so he thought his name was Liochant Sands. Lions Chant of the Sands, he has been too anxious to correct people and thus his name has been Liochant for the past four years.

The characters of the "Baki the grappler" are like seals ≧﹏≦:
Baki:
- a mixed breed cat, half Norwegian forest.
- moody, eats only expensive food, but at the same time he loves his old toys.
- he likes to run away from home, but he comes back on his own. It already resembles daily walks.
- he often fights on the street, so he comes back with wounds almost every time. As well as with prey, and it can be anything from a leaf from a tree standing next to a house to a bird.
- He bites only strangers, his khazaivas are inviolable for him.
- sleeps on any surface, he doesn't care at all, bed, stairs, floor, pot of flowers
- a lot of wool.
- HE LOVES WHEN HIS TUMMY IS STROKED!!!!!
Hanayama:
- MAINE-COON!
- Not picky in terms of food, but prefers fish
- he doesn't run away from home often, but if it happens, it's for a long time. His owners never know when he will return.
- He also has a lot of scars and not the usual coat color.
- it also often brings prey. They are mostly mice.
- LOTS of toys. Balls of different colors and sizes, mice on strings and without. In general, everything is for him.
- loves boxes. Small, big, he doesn't care, he'll get into any one. There are also a lot of bite holes on all his boxes.
- sleeps in the same bed with his masters.
- scratch him behind the ear, he needs it.
Katsumi:
- Burmese cat
- Oh, look at him, isn't he the cutest creature on earth? He easily charms people and scratches their face and hands with the same ease.
- he prefers meat from food
- he doesn't have scars, but as I said, this cute little face bravely gives them to others 🥺
- he definitely has his own house with a scratching post and a couch. Although he does not use a scratching post, this is perhaps his only disadvantage, he pulls everything that does not hit, walls, furniture, trees, everything is scratched.
- Rarely leaves home, mostly in the spring
- SCRATCH IT EVERYWHERE!!!!! He is very affectionate and ready to be stroked at any time.
Jack:
- a mixed breed cat, half Norwegian forest. But even for his breed, he is very big
- waaaaaaaaa, so much wool, it's literally everywhere
- VERY calm. He will calmly take the fact that he will be stroked. They are calm about the fact that they will squeeze him. He treats children calmly.
- He is not picky in terms of food, he will eat whatever he is given
- he doesn't leave the house at all, but he used to leave the house very often, which is why he has a lot of scars.
- he is very attached to his owners, he will never scratch them, he is always affectionate.
- his only disadvantage is his lack of compliance. If his owners are trying to teach him any tricks, then it's useless.
Retsu:
- Dragon Lee
is not picky in terms of food
- he is also very calm, but still his patience is not eternal
- easily makes contact with people, does not mind getting a little affection, but again within reason.
- he treats the owner with respect, it is easy to train him to the tray, it is also easy to teach him tricks.
- obedient
- no problem with the wool
- rarely leaves the house, there are almost no scars
- prefers to have his chin scratched
Shibukawa:
- the sphinx
- naughty, very affectionate, requires constant attention, not aggressive and very smart... And yes, it's all about him
- Oh, he needs a jumpsuit, he is very sensitive to temperature.
- he'll eat whatever they give him, he's not picky at all
- he rarely leaves home and he doesn't have many scars, but before he often came a little battered, due to the fact that he doesn't know how to choose his opponents.
- over time, he becomes more calm, but this does not mean that his mischief becomes less
- his owners already have a huge collection of his toys, from simple mice to some kind of intellectual toys, he appreciates them all
- he always looks into the eyes, it is not typical for cats, but he is not afraid of direct contact
- oooh, scratch him everywhere, but remember, he may perceive this as a game and then your hands will not be well
Doppo:
- Siamese cat
- contrary to stereotypes, he is very affectionate and attentive towards the owners
- prefers active games, cheerful and "chatty"
- very tied up to his masters, sometimes jealous
- he is also very smart, he has a lot of intellectual toys
- very picky in terms of food, probably has unusual preferences
- he rarely leaves home, but when he was younger he did it more often
- the owners can pet him wherever they want, but just DON'T TOUCH his TAIL, he is especially sensitive.

Can you hint at what happened to Jackie Mallory because everytime you post a devastatingly beautiful edit about her, her fate consumes me. Like what happened to my girl??
oh maaaannnnnnnnn ☹️
jackie mallory is my favourite mystery i’ve created. she’s so precious to me and so hard to describe and i fear nobody will ever see her quite how i intend her to be seen, but i love that people are interested in her. it makes me very very happy :)
it’s quite hard to hint at her fate without outright spoiling it, so i’m gonna try and do my best with these three points, like a sphinx with a riddle…
1. jackie’s a fake blonde when the apocalypse starts. by the time you find out what’s happened to her, her hair would have almost completely grown out.
2. jackie has a super severe allergy to shellfish, so she wears medical dog tags with her name and info on them. it’s important, i swear.
3. nobody’s guessed her fate yet!! i’ve had a lot of guesses, but no one’s quite figured it out properly. which is pleasing, by the way, because i want it to be a shock.
i made a promise to my lovely friend beanie that i would not spoil jackie’s fate, because we spent like two weeks planning it and it’s very important to me 🌝 so, hopefully this satisfies your interests slightly but isn’t too spoilerish!!
