2024 summary

Each year, I want to write some kind of summary, but each year, I get too overwhelmed with the holidays season to do so. This time, I came prepared, so I wrote this text a bit earlier bc I knew that by now I will be a sleepy shrimp.

2024 was one of the toughest years for me, if not the hardest one so far. Dealing with the lay-off and long term unemployment took a hard toll on me and my mental health, but I'm still here despite it all, and I'm still creating. Really happy that I finally managed to find a job and can finally rest from grinding portfolio work and fighting for my life. Somehow this year turned out to be the most productive too. Something-something, strong emotions (even negative ones) are the best fuel for the inspiration.

This year, I focused more on my brushwork so I can bring my ideas to reality faster and avoid hurting my hand more - and I'm quite satisfied with the results, my hand's pain is almost inexistent at this point. Dance classes, crochet, and playing Elden Ring with the controller also helped to gently strengthen my hands so they are better at handling painting for a longer time now. I also tried to make my works more complex and thought through in general, focused more on the storytelling aspect and more interesting composition decisions. Really liked playing around with this stuff and can't wait to experiment even more. For a long time, I thought that my art has value only if it's being realistic and generic in terms of the game industry style. It took me a long time to acknowledge and accept this, as well as the fact how my painting style is a reflection of myself; I'm quite timid and shy in nature, and it also applied to my painting approach, I was always afraid to do bold brushstrokes, going wild with colours, showing my feelings through my art, expressing myself openly. And I feel like this year, I learned to be not afraid of who I am, not to try to hide my impressionistic approach to the painting behind smooth and "proper" brushwork. I'm not trying to fit into the standard anymore; sure, it would make my life easier in terms of finding an art job quicker and being more popular on social media if I had a more generic art style. But it feels so much better to allow myself to be who I am.

Elden Ring obsession was like the breath of the fresh air. For the several times this year, I was so, so close to having a severe art block, to losing myself in commissions & portfolio work, to losing the wonder the act of creation gives me. Elden Ring made me feel very inspired, gave me the courage to try to draw many things I was afraid to draw before; I really enjoy being a part of this fan community, and I've met so many wonderful and talented people throughout last months that it constantly fuels my inspiration; artists, writers, cosplayers, lore enthusiasts. In the last couple of years, I approach my social media profiles like a personal blog of sorts, not focusing on the painting only. And I really enjoyed sharing different sides of my hobbies with you, writing mini essays with the game analysis, and discussing it all in comments in DMs.

I couldn't survive this year without your support, and I'm forever grateful. Every like, reshare, and comment brightens my day. Special thanks to the people who bought my prints, donated, or joined my Patreon - you literally saved me. The fact that I had to rely on social media as the main source of income for so long did some damage to the ways how I view my own art, sometimes I feel too sensitive about numbers and algorithms and start to view my art as a content that has to be popular - I'm slowly but surely try to go away from this and to reconnect with my art once again; I want my art to be even more personal and detached from the popular needs; I need to get weirder.

Sometimes it feels surreal that so many people are interested in me and what I do.

Hey I wrote a fanfiction for Valentine's day - I wanted to explore the subject of Bella and Mandrake's status as a supposedly married couple.

I think I'll end up making a separate post to explain the process behind the fic, along with little tidbits and concept art, mostly because I've injected a lot of little details to the book/movie's inexistant lore and I think it'd be interesting to develop those!

Hair : white, practicality mopping the floor because of how long it is, a bit near the end it's tied and then divided into 9 braids to sort of represent the 9 tails of a kitsune

Some fun facts : their pronouns are they/it/he; their favorite candy flavor is raspberry; their favorite colors are yellow lemon; they're aroace; despite them being an Elemental Master, they can't do Spinjitzu.

Power explanation : Void

As a void user, Afumi has the power to create void weapons (shurikens are weapons of choice; 1 use only; the void only spreads to the object it first hit and can't spread outside of it), void travel (will be explained lower, it's a lot ;-;), and to engulf one of their body parts in a smoky void which can act like an armor of sorts or it can spread to the object it hits (this one can spread outside of the first object it hit). The way their power destroys an object is by engulfing it in the void and then making it compress in on itself into inexistence.

Void travel :

When a user void travels, their body slowly gets engulfed by void (or quickly, but it's risky) and then they disappear (not to be confused with the normal void compression). They reappear in the Void Dimension. When they get to the Void Dimension, they have to quickly move to a void patch. To identify a void patch, the user has to look for a very faint 'aura' which outlines the patch. A void patch is an exit out of the Void which will 'spawn' the user in the mortal place corresponding with the void patch. The Void Dimension takes anything, and everything it can, as it keeps trying to fill itself up. It is recommended that void travelers have long hair, so that they don't lose an arm or a head. While it can't actually be confirmed, it's speculated that there's a void monster inhabiting the Dimension, and it will consume all who decide to spend more than a minute in the Dimension. However, void travelling isn't always accurate, as the Void Dimension is a replica of the normal/mortal plane, including the sky and the underground. In order to increase your chances to accurately void travel, you must know the height difference between the ocean level and the place you want to travel to, then you must translate those to the Void Dimension, in order to avoid possibly ending up 10 kilometers underground.

Example of the inaccuracy of void travelling: Say you wish to travel to point Bottle from point Paper, and near point Bottle there's point Cake and point Eraser. Point Eraser is the nearest to point Bottle. However, when you enter the Void Dimension, you discover that there's no void patch for point Bottle, only for point Cake and point Eraser. But you notice that point Eraser is out of the 10km radius which the void travel can reach. So you must first travel to point Cake, and then perhaps void travel again to point Eraser and then walk to point Bottle if you want to get there faster. However, when void travelling to point Cake, you could end up in the sky, or underground, or a bit more to the East, or a bit more to the North, and so on. That's why it is very important to know how to translate mortal distances to Void Dimension distances.

Backstory : basically after Misako dipped on Lloyd, Garmadon had an unofficial divorce, unofficial marriage with another elemental master (she died later on lol😍), and then had Afumi. Afumi went to Darkley's up until they were 11, then they dipped, then they got into an argument with Garmadon and disappeared for about 4-5 years (cause running away and going no contact is awesomesauce😍) , time in which they mastered void travelling and their powers all together, they got their kitsune mask because their face deformed from the constant void travelling and usage of their powers (up until they lose their element/get put in a revengestone cage), learned how to use the shurikens and kunai, and became an assassin/bounty hunter. The way Afumi discovered their element, is that one night, when they were around 5-6, they had a nightmare about the Void and the creature; naturally, they sought out comfort from their mother, but they accidentally activated their powers whilst hugging her, and she got engulfed by the void. Despite having an element, they can't do Spinjitzu, no matter how hard they try.

Bonus under the cut: Henry in a bride dress but I hadn't warmed up previously so his face looks like a melted popsicle + some scene doodles from the Puppetteer Henry AU (an idea I had a couple days ago in which Henry possesses Ethan after his death because he's so fucking spiteful. And also because he can't stop existing unless he gets exorcised and he really fucking hates being a ghost. It's a little edgy but fuck it they're my characters and I have a lot of fun spinning them in my head). I put them under the cut because some images include blood and scars, and because they're acccompanied by an obnoxiously long lore-drop.

Some context as to why they want Ethan to die - possessing somebody ties you to that somebody, it's like the stupidest thing you can do as a ghost, making it so that you can't be reincarnated unless that person dies or you get exorcised. You can also get tied to a living person if that person was the cause of your death.

Things are a lot more complicated in this story, though, there's a gazillion points I would probably take much longer to explain than I'd like to but basically Henry's fucking weird. He died by the hands of one of his roommates and then got reincarnated into Nathaniel, a character who I hardly ever talk about here, when he got his roommate to commit suicide, around five years after his own murder.

Now the thing is that 13-year-old me wanted to stir drama, so she made it so that Ethan was one of Nathaniel's parents and Ethan used to have a very close relationship with Henry. But then things happened and Henry became extremely unhealthy to be around (well, he's sort of always been extremely unhealthy to be around but he got even worse) and stuff between them got really tense. They broke up, Ethan went on to continue with his own life and take care of himself, Henry started taking his frustration out on his roommates, booooooooooommmmmm Henry dies.

ANYWAY why do I mention the relation between Ethan, Henry and Nathaniel? Because Nathaniel's wayyyy too curious for his own good and finds out about Henry's existence by looking through his father's old pictures and as the stupid little 13-year-old he is, he tries to dig up as much information about him as he can because he's so darn curious about this undead-looking guy his dad once knew apparently?? But uh-oh he triggers Henry's memories and brings him back into existence :]

I know that doesn't make much sense but I don't give a fuck, I was 13 when I made that up and I love the characters too much to change the story.

Henry's there as a weird ghost, as a conscience, and sharing his soul with Nathaniel, since that's technically him, gives him the right in his eyes to use Nath's body as a vehicle to interact with the physical world. And so he does, hopping into the 'tied ghost' category after years of inexistence. And the kid is aware about his existence and they fucking hate each other's guts. So basically Henry sort of terrorizes him for.. I think two years? But then Cocoa dies and Henry starts spending time with Cocoa and leaving Nathaniel alone, and they get along overtime because Cocoa is fond of Nath and Henry doesn't want to upset Cocoa by making Nathaniel's life a fucking nightmare so they get along. Yay.

However, and here's where the AU is born, Henry still heavily despises being around. He's tired of being 'awake' and conscious and wants to rest and like, die for real, so him and Nathaniel do some research on ghosts and see if they can find any spells or rituals to separate tied ghosts from the living person they're tied to and allow them to fully pass away. AND THEY DO AND NATHANIEL CASTS IT BUT IT DOESN'T KILL HENRY IT JUST SEPARATES HIM FROM NATH AND MAKES IT SO THAT HE CAN'T POSSESS HIM ANYMORE SO NOW HENRY'S STILL AWAKE AND BORED OUT OF HIS MIND AND HE'S STILL GONNA HAVE TO WAIT FOR NATHANIEL TO DIE PROBABLY? (Which he doesn't, by the way! He can choose to dissappear, he just assumes that he can't because a-oop, he's still conscious).

So since he can't interact with the physical world through Nathaniel's vessel anymore and he's so fucking bored, he decides he'll try to communicate with Ethan somehow. Just to see how he'll react. To give him a scare, even. He tries giving him signs that he's there but he's a weird kind of ghost so he can't even move objects cause he's so fucking pathetic, SO he possesses Ethan to try and communicate with him through post-it notes. Boom, he's tied again. Congratulations, Henry.

He starts using Ethan's vessel to interact with the physical world very moderatedly at first, like maybe to just eat a yogurt or go through a late night walk, but Henry is Henry and minutes of possessions turn into days, weeks, and even months. And he hasn't actively tried to take care of a human body since he was like seven and alive so Ethan's health drops significantly, both physically and mentally. And now he's gonna have to wait for ETHAN to die if HE wants to die which fucking sucks for Henry but hey he got himself into this situation. Anyway, silly doodle dump:

This can happen if they make the stupid choice of possessing someone, or if they've been killed by that someone (murder victims will be tied to their murderers, as is the case with Henry when he first dies). They will be reincarnated when the person they're tied to dies (unless they get separated from their magnet via a spell or a ritual, in which case, they will become Wanderers).

SUICIDAL GHOSTS: Those who took their own life. They will be reincarnated once they spend the same amount of years they had when they died as a ghost.

I have the same energy as a hamster who is being studied, sometimes. Which does tie into the first question.

🥀- Well, I love compliments in general. Surprising, right? (/sarcasm). But this is about unusal compliments. There's one that I have gotten textually which was "you need to be studied in a lab," and honestly, yes! It reminds me of that one scene in b99 where Gina has the attention of an entire group of professionals.

There's also the category of compliments that are normal ones but said in a freaked out tone. For example, when I mention some strange and unusual fact and people are like "you're so knowledgeable" but they have visibly been dealt psychic damage by what I just said. It's fun!

Last but not least, frogboiling. "You talk so much about [strange and unusual topic] that I like it now / am desensitized to it / think about it sometimes" is HELL YEAH from me. Alas, I suppose it starts to veer away from "unusual compliment" territory.

I've taught people how to cook / bake. I've taught people how to paint and write and sew. I am always ready to offer good advice, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, etc. I have very sharp senses so I can help people identify smells / flavors / sounds from really far away / who is walking nearby. I know various methods of healing! And uhhh I also think I'd make a great parent someday teaching so many skills - and singing, boy I can't wait to sing lullabies I know they would love my lullabies.

Okina Matara, from Touhou Project. Ah, I could ramble for hours about this series if given the opportunity, but I shall not. Instead, quote the wiki, she has no mercy for disrespect and graciously blesses those she favors, is ostentatious, prideful, confident, self-centered, a mastermind of incidents, has connections to MANY parts of the lore and mythology, and ultimately her first appearance was all about drawing attention and reverence to herself. Plus, she has a canonical connection to disabilities!

Yukari Yakumo / Maribel Hearn, also from Touhou Project. Ditto, I will mostly quote the wiki. She is a mastermind, has incredible intellect, very abstract and private goals, a facade of whimsy and deceit while also actively enjoying making others fear her, and is generally considered as someone who calls the shots. She also has quite the flowery language. Furthermore, as Maribel, she is othered for her tastes / demeanor / abilities, and textually calls herself a celebrity who should be indulged.

Asuka Langley, from Evangelion. Mainly Soryu, as I've yet to watch the rebuild movies, but from what I hear, they don't change her personality that much. Anyhow. The very explicit need for attention and praise, and huge dependance on her self worth (and others' acknowledgement of her worth) is very npd to me. Granted, given the nature of Evangelion, going in depth about the characters' psyches is... a complex venture.

Lapis Lazuli, from Houseki no Kuni. Oh boy oh boy I LOVE HnK, it has such WONDERFUL themes of body horror and existentialism and peace. Anyway. Quote the wiki. He has a charming, leading personality, extremely smart, curious, and at times manipulative. They have been called surprisingly deceitful (could conceal secrets for centuries). So yeah, I love him.

So, after a LOOOOOONG time not painting anything, while I was configuring my dualboot of highly customized windows 11 and mildly customized linux mint 22, and also finding which system handles my graphics tablet better (linux mint handled it better IMO) I finally drew a picture of my new imbalance protogen (but not fully protogen) OC in krita :3c

So, here it is, yes, it looks like a logo design, but hey! I haven't beed drawing for quite a while afterall, and I needed to test my skills, and also, found some artistic filters in krita I haven't been using ever, which helped me make the character's face a bit more digital (although I have some way to go with that one)

This character has a whole lore about them, and I say them, because the actual being that possesed this being is not something with sex or gender, it just choses a body for it, and goes like that

The body it took in this case is a body of a dead fox woman, so it just took her body from her grave, shifted everyone's memory about her, or even erased, then fixed her body, added her a vysor (because vysor = cool), and now lives it's own life. Also these things, that can posses dead bodies and live a life like that are able to shift reality and immune when anything else tries to shift reality thag they are in, and also these beings can regenerate from thin air, even if the body they are in is completely erased from reality. And BTW, these beings are bound to the body they took, so they can't change the body, and they should take care of it, as destroying the body to inexistance one too many times can lead them to roam without bodies for centuries, until they die from draining (also, I have no picture of them made for now, but I will come up with their appearance too)

Niche kin appreciation 11! Share how you've discovered this kin!

I discovered Watchers some years ago, when I was reading hermitcraft fanfiction! I got really into mcyt somewhen around 2021 or so, starting with the dsmp and, when it ended, finding other communities. I found the hermits when I was watching one of Tommy's videos, one in which he invited grian and mumbo I think? And they talked a bit and they talked about hermitcraft. And my sister had told me about hermitcraft before, so I checked it out. It didn't really interested me much, but then I discovered Grian's life series. And I watched Double Life and Third life, I liked it a lot, so I searched fanfics for it. I stumbled onto the Watcher lore on accident, it looked interesting so I researched it a bit. After that I continued reading Hermitcraft fanfics, mostly with Grian as a main character, and I started falling into the rabbit hole of hyperfixation.

A few years later, I discovered I was otherkin. I knew almost right away that I was a winged cat, but also, something else. Something was missing. I was having strange shifts and dreams, sensing floating things when I was stressed, I had huge wings pressing into my back at all times. It was like I was having a permanent shift at all times. At first I thought it was part of the cat kintype, because they also have wings, but it was... Different.

It didn't took long before I started researching. I realised it was possible to have multiple kintypes, so I started researching things with wings and eyes. It was not birds, it was more mythical. For I bit I thought I was godkin or angelkin. I thought I was a biblical angel for a while, actually. But then, while Watching Martyn's pov on the Life Series, something... Bugged me, about his lore. Almost like it was familiar.

A shiver went down my spine when hearing the Watcher's voices. I knew that voice. I had heard it before. It freaked me out for a bit, actually. I started researching on Watchers, but its lore was basically inexistent. So I turned on fanfics. Embarrassing, I know. But the fics where Grian was turned into a Watcher awakened something in me. I knew that was something that happened to me too. It was familiar.

I started writing on a journal to focus on instincts and shifts. I had them for a while, but I wanted to focus on what I was feeling. My form was still more or less human, but those scars on my back, and my wings constantly pressing to be liberated... Before long, I knew there was no denying it. I was a Watcher. Physically, too.

Right now I'm writing a journal on my own “lore”, because it differs a lot from canon. But yeah, that's how I discovered I'm a Watcher!

here's the explanation of the lore:

it's a game I've been planning on making ever since I was like... 10!

granted the ideas changed a lot and I did a LOT OF overthinking.

but the premise is the same.

there's a garden and each tree is a seperate world. each branch is a different story.

sometimes souls can jump from one branch to another giving you a classic Isekai phenomenon or a reverse Isekai.

it can also be done manually in some more developed world trees with either magic or technological advancements.

in some world magic IS technology.

in some technology is magic.

some worlds are post apocalyptic but life continues to grow and even after humans are completely instinct, love still finds a way between two very different beings.

sometimes it's a battle of farsight. people from the future return to the past except there's a sharp competition to grasp the monopoly of the timeline between the time travelers.

(what you thought you were special? nah. there'll always be someone that's one step ahead.)

sometimes you're an insignificant insect, sometimes a giant creature of ineffable proportions.

the gardener, Lilith is the goddess of existence.

there is also "the empty" and the "Chaos"

reality is the boundary between everything at once and nonexistence.

sometime trees wither. sometimes they OVERGROW and there's weeds.

if all trees die then the void takes over that area and claims it.

if it's overgrown chaos manifests and claims it.

then there's what chaos and void create when the two meet...

About Goatasus, i can understand why they have the whole lock thing, since they cannot die from old age they would need to stop aging at some point

But this comes with another problem, WHY IS THIS RANDOM SPECIES BASICALLY IMMORTAL??? the goatasus don't seem to have a story to explain why the only way they can die is by their heart (and decapitation ig not sure), i don't think Mel understood that making this species overpowered, they would need to have a reason for this

Like, take Pastel for example... her natural abilities are light, heat, the ribbons, flight, cannot age, healing, the only way for her to die is either the heart and her pocket dimension tail (not counting 3)

That's too much stuff for someone who's not that important to the world

Maybe Mel could come up with some lore like... idk, goatasus are touched by the goddess Hope to be similar to angels but weaker, ANYTHING

That also falls under the whole "Shadow Colours Worldbuilding is inexistent"

NO BECAUSE THIS FEELS LIKE THE GODS IN-UNIVERSE DECIDED TO MAKE GOATASI ALMOST FUCKING GOD TIER, OR ALMOST AT THE SAME LEVEL AS ANGELS BUT FURRIES BASICALLY.

Why so many stuff with magic needs to be almost non-existent with no rules whatsoever, like what magic is considered illegal to use, and how do you LEARN when you SHOULD use it, like in dire situations? What if it's emotion based? How many power sources are there?

Araxacy (pronounced a-ra-shaa-cy)

Snow white's kingdom

Means "mother of the land of sunrise" (i made up the name with Tupi* random words)

Passing thro some difficulties after its queen died: the king, Philip Schneewittchen is overwhelmed, and that's why he's seeking for a new partner to rule

The nobles are currently having to administrate their territorries all alone, and most are very poor right now. One among the most prosperous are the von Waldeck lands, in the charge of the viscountess Katarina von Waldeck.

Tibai (ty-ba-ii)

More of an oligarchy than an actual monarchy. The Royal Family doesn't have much influence, not as much as the noble clans spared around the country. All of them reune themselves once or twice a year, to keep their decisions unified, but they are mostly, as powerful as the king. Most are allied, though, or else there would be much conflict (as it had once).

It is a coastal country, known by its huge sea power, and the different clans of nobles have privateer pirates** under their comand, which only serve to ampliate their influence. (Tibaí also means "full of water")

Privateers pirates work for different nobles, and many have issues against one another, but they manage to be as quiet as they can on their conflicts because of the nobles who haired them.

Among a privateer's contract, they have the responsability of beating illegal pirates, arresting illegal imigrants and beating Tibai's enemies in the ocean. They have many privillegies for doing this work.

Snow White and her friend, June, find out about the Queen's plans and run away from their country (after the queen finds out they are against her and tries to... hm, "prevent" them) to here. In Tibai, they meet this privateer pirate (she works for a noble clan i will go further in later) and after she finds out who Snow White is (she suspected it already) and why they ran out of their country, she offers to helping them.

Ibipyo (Y-by-py-o)

Ibipyo is a really rich country. Its name mean "land of gold" and it was a great mineration center in old times. It still is.

It is way far from Tibai than from another countries, but is Araxacy's neighboour, the oy thing separing the two kingdoms, a wild huge forest. It is the country Snow White and her friends go after Tibai.

They went there in search for possible allies against the queen, since it is close there and very powerful. When they reach there, (it is a very long way from Tibai to Ibipyo) however, the queen of the country faces a huge problem: Her oldest and only son has disappeared. The heir, prince Cauan, is somehow gone.

They manage to find him (long story) and send him back to the queen, getting her allyship. The prince also goes with them (it's now a team of four)

*tupi is a south-american indigenous language, one that influenced largely the brazilian language. All these countries were named with this language.

**Privateer pirates: licensed pirates who work for the government. (Like One Piece's.) In England, back on old days, the queen Elisabeth haired pirates and gave them permission to navigate, with a free pass among her seas. In exchange, the pirates would attack unwanted ships of other countries, like Spain's.

Patterns: people use many colorful patterns in popular clothing here. They mostly look like those from African culture.

Gender roles are weak here

My game, my rules: I get to decide what kinf of real world prejudices and fucked up dynamics they have, and there is no mysoginy (in this world this is a thimg from the past, they are civilized enough to have gender equality***), no racism (slavery and imperialism were inexistent in this history)

They are pretty queerphobic here, tho; this is important for conflict in my story****

In some kingdoms, like in Araxacy, it is common to rule in couples; in others, like in Ibipyo, one single ruler is enough, there is the Monarch (in this case, queen Jessica), their consort (the prince's father) and their childs and heir

***Be reminded, though, it still takes place in a 18th century based setting.

****In some stories, also, I worldbuild the thing with other settings: no homophobia, but bissexuality is seen as awful; no racism or queerphobia, but no rights for woman; gender equality and kind of accepting to queer identities, but no space for woman; etc, you name it.

OK. Time to give a lil update on the Villareal side of my game, now.

As I said, Jacques is dead. And Lory is, as one would expect, devastated. And pregnant with a son.

Theo, Lory's elder, who just graduated high school early, and had got engaged without my say-so, dumped his fiancé and is now dating Nyon Specter (yeeeeeah!). He will soon go to uni and study either business or culinary arts (or both?); he wants to work for Villareal Industries when he finishes school, so either degree would be useful.

Not much to report on the other members of the family, except that Amalia just had to be operated on urgently because of... the flu? I don't know. She's on the mend now, thankfully.

Now, for the future. I won't play this for a long time (unless I decide to do a time skip), but Lory won't be in another relationship until she's an elder. Not even a one-night stand. Despite popular beliefs, she's not that interested in men (and has zero interest in women or anyone else)(reminder that before Jacques she only had one boyfriend, Hugo, and that she only slept once with him). So, yes, there's time before we actually meet her last love, BUT I already have him in-game, plus a bit of lore for the both of them (thanks to my insomnia last night).

Beware the (future) happy couple, Mallory Villareal (née Landgraab) and Jack Santiago (yep, his name is on purpose).

They meet during a charity gala organized by Lory. Lory is around her mid-sixties, and Jack is in his early twenties (maybe 23?). She's the rich and famous socialite, he's the ever-broke bartender. It's love at first sight*. Lory isn't able to stop staring at the young man who looks so much like her Santi (but with a less striking nose)(and what a shock when she learns his name), and Jack looks at her like the lovesick puppy that he is. Obviously, both are drawn to the other and spend quite some time talking about nothing and everything, still conversing long after the gala ends. Despite Lory's promise to herself that she would never have another relationship after Jacques (and didn't until then), and Jack's next-to-inexistent experience (he did have a couple girlfriends before, but he never really did anything with them, always feeling like he was betraying someone when with them), they end up spending the night together at Jack's ratty flat. It is a night of awkward, rather bad yet enthusiastic sex; in one word, it is perfect. One month later, Jack is living at the Villareal Estate and they have just announced to the press that they are to be married soon. They actually had a very private ceremony the day before; the wedding, which will take place a couple months later, is only for show.

*Actually, Jack has had a massive crush on Lory for as long as he can remember (or even longer than that); according to his mom, the first time he saw Lory on the telly, he was not yet three and said very seriously that she was his wife and that he would marry her again someday (another time, when he was seven, Hugo and Theo were giving an interview about some new business for Villareal Industries, and Jack started crying, and when her mom asked why he said that he missed his children).
