May 17, 1536 - The Executions of George Boleyn, Henry Norris, Sir Francis Weston, William Brereton, and Mark Smeaton
"Masters all, I am come hither not to preach and make a sermon, but to die. As the law hath found me, and to the law I submit me, desiring you all, and especially you, my masters of the court, that you will trust in God especially, and not in the vanities of the world. For if I had so done, I think I had been alive as ye be now. Also, I desire you to help … the setting forth of the true word of God. And whereas I am slandered by it, I have been diligent to read it and set it forth truly. But if I had been as diligent to observe it, and done and lived thereafter, as I was to read it and set it forth, I [would not have] come here. Wherefore I beseech you all to be workers and live thereafter, and not to read it and live not thereafter. As for mine offenses, it cannot prevail you to hear them that I die here for. But I beseech God that I may be an example to you all, and that all you may beware by me, and heartily I require you all to pray for me, and to forgive me if I have ever offended you. And I forgive you all. And God save the King." - George Boleyn's execution speech in Wriothesley's Chronicle
"Some say, 'Rochford, haddest thou been not so proud,
For thy great wit each man would thee bemoan,
Since as it is so, many cry aloud
It is great loss that thou art dead and gone." - Thomas Wyatt (?), In mourning since daily wise I increase
"These bloody days have broken my heart.
My lust, my youth did them depart,
And blind desire of estate.
Who hastes to climb, seeks to revert.
Of truth, circa regna tonat [about the throne, thunder rolls]." - Thomas Wyatt, Who list his wealth and ease retain
"Mr. Norris ... said almost nothing at all." - George Constantine
"I had thought to have lived in abomination yet these twenty or thirty years, and then to have made amends. I thought little it would have come to this." - Francis Weston's last words, as reported by Constantine
"I have deserved to die if it were a thousand deaths. But the cause wherefore I die, judge not. But if you judge, judge the best." - William Brereton's last words, as reported by Constantine
"Masters, I pray you all, pray for me, for I have deserved the death." - Mark Smeaton's last words, as reported by Constantine
Also on this day, Anne's marriage to Henry was annulled by Archbishop Cranmer, either on the grounds of a precontract with Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland, or Henry's affair with her sister Mary before he met Anne.

sorry im just thinking about bcs but like. why not add a few smaller scenes of gus interacting with his own men? why does it seem like, in comparison, mike is almost immediately elevated to a higher status than those two in bcs purely because we actually get to see him having normal conversations with gus? like i understand they might not keep the plot moving as well because of the fact obviously if victor is currently doing something it’s because gus told him to etc. but for the most part all of the smaller interactions gus does have with those two ends up being in a somewhat high stress situation where it feels very tense between everyone. and it’s just like damn! is it always like that?? why do those two even care that much about their jobs if their boss is a bit of a dick? etc. i think even an additional scene or two with those guys (either alone or the both of them) talking with gus in a more normal situation could’ve both added a bit more depth into how gus treats his employees (we got a lot with how he treats lyle and co., but not a whole lot with the illegal side of things), how comfortable vic and tyrus feel around him in a calmer setting, and exactly why they both feel the need to be as loyal as they are to the guy.
and also on the other side of this i don't think it'd hurt to maybe elaborate on their pay just a bit..? i'm not saying to randomly put a number out into the atmosphere but i just mean some smaller things like. do they buy nicer things for themselves? what's their housing situation? what's their car situation? are the escalade / yukon their own vehicles or does gus just use those two for business situations? do they use them when they're doing their own stuff off the clock or do they have their own cars? etc. that can also help with understanding their motivations a bit. don't get me wrong i don't think they should be visibly rich or something because that's not what gus would want but just smaller things! cause it's easy to write their loyalty off as Well they probably get paid super well, which i'm sure is true, but if they don't show a single hint of that then what's the point. even something as simple as giving tyrus a nice watch, or maybe victor having a nicer looking gun, etc. something small like that. because as it stands right now the average 41 year old viewer who watched the show once only knows and will only ever know victor and tyrus as those two guys in the background who do random stuff for gus with no clear motivation. just the personification of "On it boss (salute emoji)". and to be honest this is true for a whole lot of fans who do watch the show multiple times and enjoy thinking about it more in depth, because on screen we barely have anything about the two.
and to be clear i'm not trying to say we should have an episode just for them or something like no i understand they're side characters. i understand we don't need all that. and i understand this is also primarily Jimmy's show. but it's not like these two are on the same level as like, arlo or paige and kevin etc. these guys have been around since brba. victor was literally introduced in the same episode gus was. and they are a huge part of gus's story, especially in brba. s4 wouldn't have been what it was without victor and tyrus. and in bcs, ignacio's situation wouldn't have been the same if it weren't for victor and tyrus as well. and i just personally believe that if their goal with gus in bcs was to go back and elaborate on how everything came to be and show what he was like a few years younger, they could've dragged victor and tyrus into that. and i think his character would've benefited from taking that extra step with those two.

Apparently some of y’all hadn’t heard this yet but I think it’s good to know: tumblr has made it so you have to be logged on to send anonymous asks in an attempt to crack down on anon hate and harassment.
If you get nasty anons, report and block them!! Don’t reply— attention is what these people want, answering anon hate only encourages them.

I think the biggest difference I’ve seen so far working with cats versus dogs is that dogs believe in rules and cats don’t. If I stop a dog from doing something enough times (and find an alternate outlet for the behavior if necessary), they’ll eventually be like “oh! This is a thing that we don’t do. Got it!” and they’ll stop trying it. If I stop a cat from doing something repeatedly, they’re like “ah okay. I will reschedule my exploration of the kitchen counter for two minutes from now” and act equally confused every time I stop them.
Which isn’t a bad thing! I’ve really enjoyed figuring out the differences between these two species and how to work with them, and I find their different social behaviors super interesting. It’s just really funny that back when I lived with Flash (dog), he would really learn what I expected of him and would try to meet those expectations, but if I try to redirect Moon (cat) he assumes that I just personally have a problem with him in that specific moment.

"if you like m*tthias and w*sper but hate k*wei you're racist"
what on god's green earth-
people hating a character who happens to not be white doesn't mean they hate him for not being white. people are allowed to hate a character you like. sorry you think he's never done anything wrong ever but some people disagree. doesn't mean they're racist. a character's race doesn't automatically make them likeable or untouchable when it comes to criticism (as long as the criticism isn't "criticism" based on their race)
no hate i've ever seen for k*wei has had anything to do with ANYTHING outside of his "role" in connection to w*sper. i'm not saying it doesn't exist but the instant link of "if you don't like him you're racist" is a bananas blanket statement to make
and again with calling w*sper a fetishized ship!!!?? stop it!!! stop!! i am smacking you all with a newspaper and taking that fucking word away from you until you can use it properly. it's not fetishized in the show & it's not fetishized by the fans. it is popular and loved. why do you INSIST on seeing that as a bad thing??
and i'm not even touching the m*tthias thing. except to say that acting like a character can't ever change or grow, can't ever leave behind hateful beliefs, is A Choice. one you're free to make but it's certainly something.
fans who give off the energy that they need something to be mad about at all times, to where they will literally just say anything, PLEASE go touch some grass

wait you got me so invested in the stammer & heddy tailor au....
this is my standard disclaimer that i have never posted a fic on ao3* and for however much i say “au” i truly mean that it’s a universe that lives in my head & i am absolutely delighted to tell you all about, all the time <3 if it helps i ALSO got me so invested in the heddy & stammer tailor au
ok now that the author’s note is out of the way here’s some notes about the not!fic heddy & stammer tailor au:
stammer as the tailor from gent’s playbook, very reserved, quiet, with an excellent eye for details (honestly the evidence i have for his style sense is just that he’s best friends with pk subban so it has to be there somewhere if only by proxy irl) is hired by victor hedman, star of the tampa bay lightning who is every other tailor’s nightmare to dress (huge, opinionated, fashionable)
heddy is decently well-known throughout the league for being very well-dressed & becomes quietly well known for also being one of his new tailor’s favorite loyal customers [heddy has the nicest fabrics. he has his suits the first day a new collection drops & e v e r y o n e is jealous]
stammer’s business booms after heddy takes a chance on him as his first big client & promotes him, heddy sees him grow in popularity & get more clients
heddy also moonlights as a model for stammer’s suits on instagram, initially to help him grow his business because then he won’t have to pay for a model and then because he’s over there all the time anyway because they’re dating (that’s why the model’s face is never in the pictures)
there’s not really a plot to this besides the vague idea of a plot where stammer makes heddy his lucky suit that he wins the cup in & sews a special little tag into the lining of his jacket that says i love you
because love sometimes is picking out the perfect right color pocket square to match your husband’s beautiful suit that you fitted like a kiss to the curves of his huge body
& also sometimes love is making your beautiful husband who makes you beautiful clothing enjoy nice things for himself once in a while, like the fancy watch you bought him or the nice suit you custom-ordered for him (from him) just so you could take it off of him
