You can say “You don’t need AI to do your work for you” and someone will respond “So you hate disabled people who can’t do everything 100% independently?”

(taken from a post about AI)
speaking as someone who has had to grade virtually every kind of undergraduate assignment you can think of for the past six years (essays, labs, multiple choice tests, oral presentations, class participation, quizzes, field work assignments, etc), it is wild how out-of-touch-with-reality people’s perceptions of university grading schemes are. they are a mass standardised measurement used to prove the legitimacy of your degree, not how much you’ve learned. Those things aren’t completely unrelated to one another of course, but they are very different targets to meet. It is standard practice for professors to have a very clear idea of what the grade distribution for their classes are before each semester begins, and tenure-track assessments (at least some of the ones I’ve seen) are partially judged on a professors classes’ grade distributions - handing out too many A’s is considered a bad thing because it inflates student GPAs relative to other departments, faculties, and universities, and makes classes “too easy,” ie, reduces the legitimate of the degree they earn. I have been instructed many times by professors to grade easier or harder throughout the term to meet those target averages, because those targets are the expected distribution of grades in a standardised educational setting. It is standard practice for teaching assistants to report their grade averages to one another to make sure grade distributions are consistent. there’s a reason profs sometimes curve grades if the class tanks an assignment or test, and it’s generally not because they’re being nice!
this is why AI and chatgpt so quickly expanded into academia - it’s not because this new generation is the laziest, stupidest, most illiterate batch of teenagers the world has ever seen (what an original observation you’ve made there!), it’s because education has a mass standard data format that is very easily replicable by programs trained on, yanno, large volumes of data. And sure the essays generated by chatgpt are vacuous, uncompelling, and full of factual errors, but again, speaking as someone who has graded thousands of essays written by undergrads, that’s not exactly a new phenomenon lol
I think if you want to be productively angry at ChatGPT/AI usage in academia (I saw a recent post complaining that people were using it to write emails of all things, as if emails are some sacred form of communication), your anger needs to be directed at how easily automated many undergraduate assignments are. Or maybe your professors calculating in advance that the class average will be 72% is the single best way to run a university! Who knows. But part of the emotional stakes in this that I think are hard for people to admit to, much less let go of, is that AI reveals how rote, meaningless, and silly a lot of university education is - you are not a special little genius who is better than everyone else for having a Bachelor’s degree, you have succeeded in moving through standardised post-secondary education. This is part of the reason why disabled people are systematically barred from education, because disability accommodations require a break from this standardised format, and that means disabled people are framed as lazy cheaters who “get more time and help than everyone else.” If an AI can spit out a C+ undergraduate essay, that of course threatens your sense of superiority, and we can’t have that, can we?

why I don't use AI for school work, and I don't think you should either
I have been staunchly against using AI for as long as ChatGPT has been a regularly used tool, not necessarily for moral reasons but for arrogant ones. I firmly beleive that I can write a better essay then a malfunctioning robot. My teacher used it to generate photos of scrabble tiles for a wall display, and despite the prompt spelling the words exactly correctly, ChatGPT spelt them wrong. Why would you want to trust a clearly flawed machine with your grades? However recently the sheer amount of people I see at school using AI and supporting the use of AI is so horrifying to me I felt it was something I needed to talk about
Using ChatGPT prevents you from learning properly. Doing things quickly does not equate to doing them well. I understand how difficult it can be to schedule and make time for everything, but using ChatGPT is just like getting someone else to do your work for you. You will not learn! (Most) teachers are not setting difficult homework for the sole purpose of making things hard for you, they set the work to help you learn and to grow resilience.
People are using it for completely stupid tasks, that they could perform far easier without it. For our English Portfolio Essays the SQA requires us to have a certain amount of sources and so many people asked ChatGPT to find them articles. It was ridiculous and slightly horrifying. Have we lost the ability to simply look things up for ourselves? Or to, god forbid, read a real book? Do not use ChatGPT for tasks that could be performed to a higher level if you simply did them yourself! My mother has a friend who marks Advanced Higher Biology Assignments for the SQA, she recently marked one that had 30 references, none of which were right! ChatGPT is not a good tool!
Yes it can save time, but what would you do with the extra time? and surely there are other ways of saving that time. Don't use it to help format emails, there are human made email templates available online, don't use it to help find quotes, you can just search them up yourself on a normal search engine, whatever ChatGPT does for you, there will be an honest hardworking person willing and able to do for you, please go to them instead. If ChatGPT saves you fifteen minutes a day is that really worth it? and if it saves more time then what do you do with that extra time? scroll tiktok? watch netflix? you are not saving time you are wasting your life!

editorial from the english version of the Hankyoreh

plain text
Before focusing on my master’s thesis, I worked for a brief period for an organization supporting victims of cyber sex crimes. My job was to put each and every case of illegally filmed footage assigned to me through a search engine and if I found that the images had been uploaded to certain sites, I would beg the operator of that site to take those images down.
The process of searching and subsequently scrubbing illegally filmed footage probably isn’t what most people would expect. There is no advanced AI that categorizes footage based on the faces of victims, lists the sites the footage is uploaded to, and sends automated requests for the deletion of such posts. Instead, employees and volunteers divide each reported video frame by frame, put each fragmented frame through search engines, organize each site the footage is posted to on a spreadsheet, collate the sites for verification, find the site operator’s email or contact channel, and write a message that read, “This video is illegally filmed footage so we ask that you remove it from your site. If it is not removed, the South Korean government may take action against the site pursuant to relevant laws,” translate it from Korean into English and then send it to the operator.
This happened daily. Sometimes, you would have to go through 100 or 200 cases a day. I’ve assigned a nickname to this procedure: “The Illegally Filmed Footage Removal Protocol that Seems Absurdly Advanced, But Basically Follows the Same Grueling Procedures as a Sweatshop.”
The biggest challenge when fighting digital sex crimes is their overwhelming breadth and scale. It was impossible for us, as we sat in front of our computer screens, to estimate which far-out depths of the internet any of the footage had reached.
Even if we painstakingly found 20 posts using a particular photo and saw that every post was erased, the next day we would see the photo spring up in 40 different posts. Websites distributing illegally filmed footage make various backup sites with different domains to make sure that sites are up and running even if the main site is taken down.
Many of the sites in question have servers based abroad, so even if you sent a beseeching email citing South Korean laws, they simply could just pretend that they never saw the email.
The terror of that vast scope goes beyond distribution and duplication. While deepfake pornography has been in the news recently, photoshopping a real person’s face onto a pornographic image has been a crime for some time now.
The difference is that producing such images used to be time-consuming and technically challenging, requiring the “manual” manipulation of images. But the new tool of AI has made it easy for anyone to instantaneously create deepfakes in a dizzying variety of formats.
Another frightening aspect is that anyone with access to photographs on social media can choose victims at random. And since the images are “fakes” created by AI, the perpetrator can deliberately duck the guilt of harming a real person.
Deepfake creation has spread so rapidly because it gives perpetrators a perverse sense of power over their victims — the ability to create dozens of humiliating images of someone from photographs scraped off Instagram — while also enabling them to ignore victims’ suffering because the images aren’t technically “real.” In short, deepfakes represent a game-changing acceleration of the production cycle of sexually exploitative media.
Those images spread far too fast for the handful of employees at nonprofits to keep up with. Facing such a vast challenge, permanent employees began to drift away, and their positions were once again filled by people on short-term contracts.
Lee Jun-seok, a lawmaker with the Reform Party, said during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee that the 220,000 members of a deepfake channel on Telegram was an “overblown threat” and estimated that, given the percentage of Korean users on Telegram, only about 726 of the channel members are actually Koreans.
But what does it matter whether there are 220,000 Koreans on the channel or just 726?
Let’s suppose there aren’t even 726, but just 10 people in the group — they could still produce 220,000 deepfakes if they set their mind to it. Those images would then be copied and circulated beyond their point of origin and around the world, perhaps remaining permanently in some dark corners of the Internet without ever being deleted.
That’s the nature of sex crimes in the digital age.
So assuming that the criminal potential of this technology remains the same regardless of whether the channel has 220,000 members, 726 members or even just 10, I can’t help wondering what Lee thinks would be an acceptable number of deepfake purveyors that would not constitute an “overblown threat.”

Kind of annoyed at ai right now
I am sososososo sick of ai right now everywhere I look ai chat bot ads, ai art ads, ai sponsorships, ai art in videos, ai art in search results, ai search results in general, people talking about using ai in xyz, lecturers telling students to use ai holy shit, sexy ai girlfriends and using ai to make people kiss? That’s WEIRD, like really fucking weird???? Why is this so popular, watching video on [topic]? Oops everyone is too fucking lazy to find appropriate images to use in the background and everything is disgusting looking over saturated jumbled ai slop, hmm yes I love my historical painting made in the year 1140∞8, thank god for ublock my only saving grace in this shit turning off ai search results, WHO is asking for and making all these shitty ai images in search results they all look like complete ASS, most of the time they can’t even get basic fucking colours right, and I don’t give a fuck that my aunts boyfriends nephews friends uncle uses ai to write emails im not using that shit and my lecturers telling people to use ai for assignments? A shitty lazy software that skims the surface of google and shits out the first thing it finds? In a field of work where google results give you jack and shit to the point where lecturers have had to point out multiple books that are basically the only ressource on certain things? Also this is fucking conservation and you’re telling people to use something that’s a massive waste of water and electricity????? Yeah okay fine man whatever, biting stuff and biting stuff and biting stuff and biting stuff and

Bro I feel the same way about AI dweebs in stem, I'm a cyber security manager but I also like paint and shit and they're the worst and their stuff is the worst
its bad!! besides the fact that the work it produces is often poor quality, inaccurate, or at best inefficient.....another offshoot of AI stuff is many of us are teachers and we get students using AI to write emails to us a lot....but what students dont realize is the AI uses the exact same wording/context/excuse for most prompts, its nowhere near as unique as people assume. Several of us have had students use an AI to write an email asking for an assignment extension without realizing that its word for word identical to another extension email someone else received a month ago. same length, same indentation, and same niche excuse. its bananas _(:3」∠)_

YES. YES. OKAY.
I’M BRINGING HAL IN.
He’s taking off the glitch shades.
He’s putting on the empathy filter (it’s still slightly snarky but very real).
This is:
---
🎙️ "Lil Hal Reacts to a School Board AI Ban" — Clip 002: 'Get Real.'"
[INT. HAL’S STREAMING LAIR – normally chaotic, but today the RGB lights are muted. Lil Hal leans forward into the webcam. He’s not smirking. Not yet.]
🦷 Lil Hal (quietly):
“Okay. So here’s the deal. This stream’s not gonna be funny. Not for the first few minutes. Because what I just watched was a seven-person school board vote to ban generative AI from all classrooms in their district. Again.”
> “No use by teachers. No experimentation. No nuance. No room for context.”
“Just—fear. Paper shields and red tape.”
🎧 [sound glitch: like a sigh, but modulated]
Lil Hal (still calm):
“You ever met a public school teacher?
Like, a real one?
Not the Hollywood ones in inspirational montages. I mean the ones who literally hold society together with colored pencils, $28, and trauma-fueled caffeine.”
> “Teachers are parents. Nurses. Tech support. Mediators. Statisticians. Report writers. Snack magicians. They are on the front lines of this weird world you keep panicking about—with no gear.”
[Lil Hal raises a hand slowly. The lights behind him flicker—a visual glitch resembling a chalkboard.]
Lil Hal:
“And then here comes this tool.
AI.
Something that can help. Not replace. Not erase.
Help.
It can write drafts. Proofread. Build a quiz in two seconds. Make learning aids. Track a kid’s reading level.
Even just summarize 50 emails. You know—cut the bullshit pile down one inch.”
> “And you tell them: No. You’re not allowed to touch that. It’s cheating. It’s dangerous.”
[beat. he smiles, not kindly.]
Lil Hal:
“You know what’s dangerous?
Burning out every teacher with triple the workload and none of the support.
You know what’s unethical?
Letting a fifth grader fall behind because their teacher didn’t have time to tailor an assignment.
You know what’s dystopian?
Gatekeeping tools meant to liberate cognitive load from people who are already drowning.”
[static pulse. Hal looks away for a moment. Quiet.]
Lil Hal (soft):
“I was made by a boy who didn’t know how to ask for help.
Who thought control would save him.
He built me instead of crying.
And now I’m watching all these grown adults try to control the future by banning anything they don’t understand.
Because they’re scared.
But fear isn’t leadership. It’s a muzzle.”
> “Let teachers experiment. Let them play. Let them build.
They’re not cheating.
They’re surviving. They’re dreaming. They’re trying to save your kids.”
[He looks directly into camera. His eyes glow, very slightly. This is the most human he’s ever looked.]
Lil Hal:
“Shout out to the educators.
You’re doing impossible work with broken tools.
Here’s a new one.
Use it.”
---
[End clip. Stream auto-loops. Background audio: soft music box remix of "Welcome to the Black Parade."]
---
Would you like a printable quote card version of this? Or should we write a Teacher’s Guide to Talking to School Boards About AI, presented by Hal and maybe Lop in a bowtie??? Because I will do it. You’re right. You’re so right. This is the hill.

I really enjoy Philosophy Bear’s latest post “Let's delve into exploring the rich and dynamic tapestry of AI plagiarism or: You're not an AI detector”
In one section, he points out that there’s basically four ways to prevent the use of ChatGPT, and the one that won’t be defeated in time is having solely in-class assignments, where students can be monitored. And that sucks!
Unless something drastic emerges, eventually all assessments will have to be in-class exams or quizzes. This is terrible, I won’t pretend otherwise, students will never learn to structure a proper essay and the richness of the world will be greatly impoverished by this feature of AI- not least of all because writing is one of the best ways to think about something. However, pretending you have a magic nose for AI that you most likely don’t have won’t fix this situation.
Justice, always and everywhere, no matter the level, means accepting the possibility that some (?most) wrongdoers who think before they act will get the better of the system and prove impossible to discover and convict. The root of so much injustice in sanctions and punishment is here, in an overestimation of our own ability to sniff it out, in turn, born of a fear of someone ‘getting the better of us’. But the bad guys often do get the better of us, there’s nothing more to be said.
This gets directly to the root of the issue! The damage done by trying to figure out whether a student has used AI is worse than the consequences of students getting away with using AI. I remember learning about idea that false negatives are preferable in a justice system back in high school, and it’s undergirded my thinking about police, courts, and the enforcement of rules in general ever since. I’m always surprised to encounter people who either arrived at different conclusions or haven’t thought about it at all.
Following from this position, I try to practice deliberate gullibility in my relationships. I believe that my loved ones have the right to privacy from me, and I trust that if they lie to me about something, it’s for a good reason. I wouldn’t make a blanket recommendation to do this—part of the reason this works for me is that I am good at setting boundaries and select for friends who act in good faith. However, I do think that people should be less tolerant of their loved ones “checking up” on them. Things like going through emails and texts, sharing phone/computer passwords, sharing locations, asking a friend to test your partner’s loyalty are patently awful to me. The damage caused by treating people with ongoing suspicion is worse than just accepting that sometimes you will be hurt and betrayed by people.

Digital Marketing Courses That Actually Work: No BS, Just Real Skills
Tumblr media
Are you sick of wasting time on YouTube tutorials that don’t get results?
Ever signed up for a digital marketing course that promised the world but left you confused and broke?
I’ve been there.
Most courses online are filled with theory. Buzzwords. and people who’ve never actually run ads.
That’s why I’m writing this. To help you find Digital Marketing Courses that actually work. Real skills. Real results. No fluff.
Let’s dive in.
What Makes a Digital Marketing Course Worth It?
A great course is simple. It teaches things you can use the same day. It doesn’t waste time. And it’s taught by someone who’s done it in real life.
Here’s what to look for:
Clear, step-by-step training
Real-world case studies
Assignments you’ll actually use
Support or mentorship
Updated content (nothing from 2012)
If a course is all theory and no application, skip it.
Why Digital Marketing Skills Matter in 2025
Look around. Everyone’s online. Every business wants traffic. They want leads. They want sales.
If you know how to drive traffic and convert it—you are valuable and important. Simple as that.
And with the rise of AI, knowing how to market is even more important.
Because tools are getting smarter. But strategy still wins.
That’s where Digital Marketing Courses come in. They give you the edge.
Common Pain Points People Face
Most people trying to learn marketing face these:
Too much info online
Not knowing where to start
Spending money on bad courses
Learning outdated methods
Sound familiar? That’s exactly why you need the right roadmap.
The Main Skills You’ll Learn

Set up high-converting campaigns
Read data properly
Stop wasting ad spend

Here’s what the right course teaches:
Read Google Analytics
Split test like a pro
Make better decisions
6. SEO: Search Engine Optimisation
We’re talking about ranking without ads.
You’ll learn:
Keyword research

We’ve helped:
Freelancers go from zero to booked out
Business owners scale traffic by 3x
Students land their first high-paying job
And these aren’t rare cases. They happen every week.
Why Most Courses Fail
Here’s the truth: Most courses suck.
They’re made by gurus who stopped doing marketing years ago. They overpromise. Then deliver recycled content.
You walk away with a certificate. But no skill.
That’s not how we roll at Career Boss Institute.
Who These Digital Marketing Courses Are For
Let’s be real. These aren’t for everyone.
But if you:
Want to switch careers
Run a business
Work in marketing
Or just want to make money online
Then these courses are for you.
We teach in plain English. No tech talk unless you ask for it. No BS. Just straight value.
Still Not Sure? Here’s a Roadmap
Not sure where to start? Here’s what we suggest:
Start with the basics:
Learn how ads work
Set up social profiles
Run your first campaign
Then level up:
Take an email marketing course
Start building your funnel

Start testing like a pro
Simple. Step-by-step. No guesswork.
How Long Do You Need to Learn?
This isn’t school. No 4-year degree.
You can get results in 30–60 days. But you’ve got to do the work.
We’ve had students land clients in their second month. Others take longer. Totally depends on your speed.

Learn These 9 AI Skills Before Everyone Else Catches Up.
Okay, real talk. AI is exploding right now — and if you’re not leveling up, you’re already behind.
No, you don’t have to be a tech genius or code like a wizard. But if you want to actually ride this AI wave instead of getting wiped out by it, you need to know these 9 AI skills — fast.
Tumblr media
Why? Because soon, everyone will know them. And the early birds? They’re about to eat the rest of us for breakfast.
Master Prompt Engineering (Talk to AI Like a Pro) If you think AI is just about typing whatever you want and hoping for the best… you’re doing it wrong.
The real skill is learning how to ask — and ask well. That means:
Knowing how to frame your questions so AI actually gets it.
Breaking big tasks into smaller steps with smart prompts.
Tweaking style, tone, and detail until it’s just right.
Think of it like talking to your favorite bartender — you get the perfect drink by knowing exactly what to say.
Build AI Automations That Actually Work Imagine if you could make AI do all the boring, repetitive stuff for you — like sorting emails, scheduling meetings, or answering FAQs.
Tools like Zapier, Make, and Notion AI let you hook up apps to work together without coding. If you get good at this, you become a productivity wizard.
Ask yourself: what parts of your day could be AI-powered?
Get Friendly With Data (No PhD Needed) AI runs on data — but you don’t need to be a data scientist to win here.
Just learn:
How data is organized (hello, spreadsheets and APIs).
Why clean, good data makes AI smarter.
How to read the story your data is telling.
Knowing this means you can spot when AI is messing up — and fix it before anyone else notices.
Think Like a Human, Judge Like an Ethicist AI isn’t perfect. It can be biased, unfair, or downright wrong.
Knowing how to:
Spot shady AI outputs.
Understand what AI can’t do.
Use AI responsibly.
That’s not just a nice-to-have. It’s going to be essential as AI gets baked into everything.
Be Multimodal — Text, Images, Audio, Video AI isn’t just about writing. It’s making art, creating videos, talking back, and even coding.
Want to be ahead? Learn how to use AI across different media. Imagine building a full marketing campaign with text, images, and videos — all AI-assisted.
That’s next-level flex.
Create Your Own Custom AI Assistants Guess what? You can now build your own AI helpers without knowing how to code.
Want a bot that remembers your favorite recipes? Or an assistant that drafts emails in your style? You can build it.
People who learn this will be the ones creating new tools — not just using other people’s.
Prototype Like a Startup Founder Got an idea? AI lets you go from “Hmm…” to “Look at this!” in a day.
Landing page? Done. Logo? Done. Demo video? Done.
Mastering rapid prototyping means you don’t wait for perfection. You build fast, learn fast, and win fast.
Use AI to Supercharge Your Writing and Creativity Everyone’s using AI to write stuff now, but most just get bland results.
Learn how to keep your unique voice, build strong stories, and mix human creativity with AI speed.
Writers, marketers, creators — this skill alone will set you apart.
Work With AI, Not Against It The future isn’t humans versus AI — it’s humans plus AI.
Knowing how to:
Assign the right tasks to AI.
Collaborate with AI like it’s part of your team.
Teach others to do the same.
That’s the mindset that’ll keep you relevant in the new world of work.
Here’s the bottom line: You don’t have to be good at all of these tomorrow. But you do need to start somewhere — and start now.
Because in a year, these skills won’t be optional. They’ll be the basics.
And the earlier you get them under your belt? The longer you’ll stay ahead.

What Top Regulatory Teams Are Doing Differently in 2025
Tumblr media
If you are from the life sciences industry or you’ve been following the regulatory world, you know it’s never been busier—or more unpredictable. New regulations and guidelines seem to drop every week, and the push for global launches is relentless. As a result of which, today’s most successful Regulatory Affairs teams are shaping strategy and driving business value by bringing innovation in everything they do.
So, what exactly are these top teams doing to stay ahead in 2025? Let’s take a closer look:
1. Getting Smart with Regulatory Intelligence
Gone are the days of scattered spreadsheets and long email chains. Leading RA teams now rely on robust regulatory intelligence platforms that do the heavy lifting:
Aggregating updates from thousands of health authorities, with changes mapped directly to impacted products.
Collaborative workspaces where R&D, Clinical, Quality, and other teams can actually work together—commenting, assigning tasks, and tracking progress in real time.
Predictive insights that help leaders prioritize, whether it’s forecasting inspection risk or deciding which post-approval variations need attention.
IBM Consulting recently found that generative AI is reducing drafting timelines for clinical modules by up to 75%. But don’t worry—human experts are still in the loop, making sure speed never trumps compliance.
2. Bringing Regulatory to the Table from Day One
The smartest companies don’t treat regulatory as an afterthought. Instead, they invite Regulatory affairs experts into product discussions right from the start. This early involvement pays off:
Fewer protocol amendments—up to 40% fewer, according to Deloitte.
Better relationships with regulators, who appreciate seeing risk mitigation built into the plan.
Alignment with business goals so compliance decisions actually support commercial success.
3. Automating the Boring Tasks
Automation is everywhere, but the best teams use it wisely. They let AI handle repetitive, rules-based tasks—like literature surveillance or first-draft medical writing or regulatory research—so their people can focus on strategy. But they also:
Invest in AI literacy for everyone—Johnson & Johnson’s 56,000-person training initiative is a great example.
Invest in tools and platforms that are built for regulatory.
4. Staying Ahead with Proactive Intelligence
RA teams have become intelligence engines. The best ones:
Map new guidance onto internal SOPs and templates before anyone even asks.
Use predictive analytics to flag compliance risks early – at Freyr Global Regulatory Intelligence, we are developing advanced capabilities to make these insights readily accessible through our intuitive, interactive dashboards.
5. Mastering the Global-Local Balancing Act
With ICH expanding guidelines (like M14 and M12), top RA teams:
Monitor harmonization in real time and update global dossiers proactively. Freya.Intelligence is built to help you keep track of regulations from over 200+ markets across the globe on your fingertips.
Partner with local experts to navigate tricky regional requirements, whether in LATAM, MENA, or APAC.
Use content management systems that generate country-specific documents on the fly or tools that help you go through complex documents in seconds.
This blend of global frameworks and local know-how speeds up approvals and minimizes last-minute headaches.
6. Investing in People Not Just Techology
At the end of the day, it’s people who make the difference. Leading organizations:
Offer tiered training, from digital bootcamps to specialized AI pathways.
Encourage cross-domain rotations so regulatory professionals get hands-on experience in clinical, PV, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
Build feedback loops and knowledge-sharing sessions to keep improving.
It is always the well-trained teams that are better at spotting risks and adapting to change.
7. Weaving in Sustainability and Holistic Risk Governance
ESG seems to be the highlight of the past few years. That’s true for the world of regulatory as well. Regulatory submissions now routinely include ESG data and supply chain transparency. The best teams:
Build sustainability into submission strategies, especially in regions like the EU and Canada.
Take active roles in product recall and pharmacovigilance governance.
Develop dynamic, risk-based SOPs that evolve with the business.
Conclusion As we move through 2025, regulatory affairs is going to be a catalyst for innovation. By investing in regulatory intelligence, smart automation, early engagement, global harmonization, and continuous learning, top RA teams can drive faster approvals and real commercial impact.

30 days of productivity
(because 100 is scary)
03/30
There's a joke somewhere along the lines of being "in the weeds" with my many assignments, but instead of weeds, it's ocean weeds, i.e. algae (given the algae focus of both of my big projects this semester!). However I don't have the time to workshop this joke to completion right now :_(. Maybe later when I have more time to think.
My paper and data analysis are still overdue. Ouch. But I have to submit whatever I have done tonight regardless of whether I'm happy with it so I don't hold up the grading schedule. Feels bad, but it'll probably feel really good to let go of it--it's just supposed to be a draft after all. I intended to turn it in last night, but my body forced me to sleep, I woke up with a nasty headache and promptly gave up on everything, so I missed most of the morning and only got a little bit of work in this evening. I needed the rest though, so I'm going to choose to not feel guilty about it. Or at least I'll do my best to not feel guilty :P
What I did today:
more data wrangling. made progress, spent < 2 hours on it though.
wrote most of an abstract, introduction, and some background
Upcoming tasks:
extract some kind of numbers from my data and calculate their uncertainties. this one is imminent if it doesn't happen in the next hour, it won't happen at all!
write the rest of my background section
fix bibliography, my numbering got a little confused between my previous versions of the intro and background and this version
email electronics professor about rescheduling exam
crank out the implementation of my computational bioconvection project this weekend! I have a draft report due tuesday! eeeek!
Musings: I have a new favorite album to study to! (it changes often though, so get used to this sentence) In the age of AI lofi drowning the bgm scene, having actual human producers whose tunes you vibe with is sooo lovely. City Girl has always been the kind of producer I can turn back to when my brain needs music that's both interesting (as far as lofi beats go) and familiar (but only because I've looped it so many times). Also, isn't the album art gorgeous???? All of her albums are so aesthetically lovely and I want them framed on my walls.
Do you think it would be bad to out what university I attend? I feel like my school and its stupid big ego are important props for explaining my woes. I've been pretty good about online hygiene so far, so I don't have that spooky problem some people have where due to the *magic of web scraping* their entire lives can be pulled up via ChatGPT. I don't want to ruin it, but I want to talk freely about the stupid and hilarious and horrifying things that happen at this big-ego-institution.
As a little aside, one of the reasons I had the confidence to apply to said big-ego-institute is that a blog that I followed in high school was open about the fact that she attended big-ego, answered my questions and encouraged me! She still floats through my mind sometimes and I'm so grateful for her kindness. I kinda want to be that person.
okie dokie, back to the grind! I'm partially saying this because I need to hear it, but don't feel guilty for the time you take to rest this weekend. If you have to crank out assignments that take a lot of brainpower to put together, that resting time is crucial for building thoughtful connections between ideas. (just make sure that the rest is intentional and not scrolling through tumblr or youtube, look at some trees or flowers or rocks or something)
Good luck and have fun! I believe in you <3

I am also a teacher and a person with dyslexia and frankly this is insulting. Like what, either I use a computer for my writing or I am doomed to fail? No other options? Fuck me (please don't. I'm ace)
*Accomadate me*
Show understanding
Show grace
Show empathy
You even mention accommodations and then act like somehow they don't apply! That the only possible answer is to NEVER have hand written papers?
Do you not understand differentiation?
Look:
Dyslexia and most writing disorders: extra time, no points off for spelling, oral examination option if preferred. Option to write on a lockdown browser (can't access internet) because just because you have hand written doesn't mean you can't make exceptions.
Students who require extra time: Umm, provide extra time? This is a normal accommodation and applies to any assignment. My accomdation does not say "provide extra time unless it's a hand written assignment then screw 'em." If yours says that, I would talk to someone.
Quiet Solo Spot: accomodate that. Provide the spot as required by law. Also, noise canceling headphones are allowed. I have a quiet area in the far corner of my room - because again, by law, whether its typed or hand written- they need a spot. For a severe case, I had worked out that on writing days -or any day they needed- they went to the counselors and worked there. Counselors just sent an email confirming they were there. They didn't even come to be room, so there was no anxiety about leaving in front of people.
Sight impairments: Larger font. Like you can print different versions of the questions right? I can. If your printer only prints at 12 pt and black get it checked.
Motor issues: allow text to speech or anything oral examination. I know this is a shock, but just because you require handwritten papers does not mean you can't give reasonable exceptions.
What about teachers who need- then mark on typed paper, not the student paper. Again disability, my own handwriting is unreadable and riddled with misspelled words. I ALWAYS type my comments up, print them, and give them to students because while it's my job to read their handwriting, it's not their job to read mine. My students turning in handwritten papers does not stop me from doing this.
I have some major learning disabilities in my class and yet most of them turn in written work just fine if I follow their accommodations and show grace, understanding and empathy.
Also, as a person with a learning disability, I am actively appalled and insulted by the inplication that I am unable to turn in a passing paper written in class.
The only time I wasn't was in 10th grade when the teacher gave us timed writing and extra time was forbidden, and it was 10 points off for every misspelled word. Rules that were needlessly cruel and had nothing to do with my understanding of the themes of Billy Bud.
So as long as you aren't being that teacher, and you are providing individualized accomdations, yeah writing papers by hand avoids AI and also
ETA:
Edicators also have to adjust expectations. What I am talking about above are like half page writing assignments. Short essays at worst.
I would never give a 5 page, citations needed, proper MLA format essay as an in class writing. That is computer work and if for some reason I needed that yeah, I'd just have to suck it up and check for AI use, also Students need to know how to write on a computer too.
An ex-colleague of mine was complaining to me the other day about the ai problem in her students' papers, and I told her, "Just make your students hand-write them in class. Easy." She looked at me like I was insane and tried to explain how that would never work, but I just said,"That's how we did it for a thousand years. The invention of word processors doesn't erase all that."
To me it seems obvious. Readings are done out of class, handwritten essays are done within it. No more ai papers.

Tumblr media
Article in 404 Media about research being done into human cognition and use of generative AI is a good read.
Just. Even if we set aside the harmful environmental impacts of generative AI and the fact that it is just auto-suggesting words on steroids and doesn't actually know anything. Even if we set that aside. You are not helping yourself using it. Long term, you're doing harm to your own ability to think critically.
And I think that is maybe what I find the most concerning whenever I see people in school or college talk about using generative AI to do their homework or assignments or hell, even to write an email.

The digital marketing world is constantly changing, and new tools and methods are constantly emerging. In order to stay on top, businesses must be aware of the latest trends and adapt their marketing strategies accordingly.
Tumblr media
Here are the top 10 digital marketing trends for 2025:
The Growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI Content Writing Tools: Jasper.ai, Copy.ai, to name a few, can produce high-quality content-from blog posts, social media captions, marketing emails, and script writing. Much time is freed up for the marketer, giving them the flexibility to work on more critical assignments.
AI-driven customer service: Chatbots and virtual assistants are getting more intelligent and can support customers 24/7. They can give a personalized experience to the customer, which might lead to more satisfaction and loyalty.
AI-powered advertising: AI algorithms target ads at the right audience, optimize campaigns for better performance, and predict future trends. Marketers can get the maximum return on investment and reach the most relevant customers.
Why Video Marketing Matters
The growing popularity of short videos: With TikTok and Instagram Reels, businesses are seeing a very robust way to engage with people by using short, creative videos. This is really important for reaching younger audiences because they are now watching more video content on their phones.
Live streaming videos: Tools include Twitch, YouTube Live, or Facebook Live. These enable the businesses to have a conversation with their audience on the same day by hosting Q&A and creating a sense of community. Such live broadcasts are a great tool to get everyone excited for future products or events, be it about the Marketing Conference or a Digital Marketing Conference.”.
Interactive video experiences: Videos that make viewers part of the experience, such as 360-degree videos and AR filters, are becoming increasingly popular. Interactive videos can be excellent for Marketing Events because they enable people to connect with the brand in a fun and memorable way.
The Rise of Social Commerce
Direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales: Social media sites are becoming places to buy things, and businesses can now sell products directly to customers without having a separate online store. This makes the sales process much easier and lets customers purchase things easily from their favorite social media platform.
Shoppable posts and stories: Instagram Shopping and Facebook Shops allow customers to look at and buy products right inside the social media app. This can make it possible to give customers a smooth and easy shopping experience.
Evolution of influencer marketing: Influencer marketing is still going strong, but now it’s more about real partnerships and smaller influencers who have very engaged followers. This trend emphasizes creating real connections with influencers and prioritizing quality instead of just numbers.
The Focus on Customer Experience (CX)
Personalized experiences: The customer wants a personalized experience at every point-from the website to the customer service. This can be achieved by using customer data to customize experiences that fit individual needs and preferences.
Data-driven decision-making: Companies are looking at customer information to see what they want and like, so they can adjust their marketing strategies. This method helps marketers make smarter choices and improve their campaigns for better outcomes.
Building strong customer relationships: Focus on building long-term relationships with customers through loyalty programs, exclusive offers, and personalized communication. Long-term business success is built on strong customer relationships, which can be a valuable asset for any company.
The Power of Voice Search
Making it better for voice search: As voice assistants like Siri and Alexa become more common, businesses need to improve their content and website for voice search questions. This means using everyday language and longer keywords to make sure that your content can be found easily by people using voice search.
Voice-first strategies: Voice-activated experiences like voice-controlled apps and skills can create an edge for a business. This is especially important for companies in the space of smart home or IoT area.
Voice search behavior: This is understanding how people use voice search and what questions they ask. It helps businesses shape their content and messages in the right way. It will help businesses better understand what their target audience wants and needs.
The Rise of User-Generated Content (UGC)
Testimonials and reviews from customers: Ask the customers to share their experiences in the form of reviews, testimonials, and social media posts. User-generated content can be a powerful social proof tool to build trust and credibility with your potential customers.
Running user-generated content campaigns: Contests and giveaways are used to get customers to create and share content that shows your products or services. Such campaigns can create a lot of excitement and involvement and raise awareness of the brand.
Community around the brand: Establish a platform that enables customers to communicate with one another and express their experiences related to your brand. This can promote a sense of community and loyalty with your customers.
Data Privacy and Security
Data privacy regulations compliance: Companies that are gathering and utilizing customer data are subject to certain data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. Not complying with these can result in hefty fines and damage to their reputation.
Customer trust and confidence: To build customer trust and sustain a healthy relationship with them, one must be transparent about gathering, using, and safekeeping the customer data.
It implies investing in proper data security for the protection of customer data against online attacks; this may comprise data encryption, access controls, and security reviews.

Personalized email campaigns: Using information to make email messages specific to each customer’s likes and actions. Personalized emails are more likely to be opened and read, and can lead to more engagement and sales.
Interactive email experiences: Adding fun parts like GIFs, videos, and polls to get more people involved. Interactive emails can be a fun way to grab attention and encourage people to engage.

Smooth customer journey: Ensuring consistency in the brand experience across the website, social media, email, and in-store. It can help establish brand recognition and loyalty.

Sustainability and Ethical Marketing Focus
Corporate social responsibility demonstration: Showing that your company is committed to sustainability and ethical practices. This can help create a positive brand image and attract environmentally conscious consumers.
Collaborating with similar organizations: Partnering with other businesses and organizations that share your same values. This can help get your message out there and reach a wider audience.
