I've liked Chris for a long time. A shameful long time, and no one, not even Anna knows it. She thinks that in eighth grade, when he asked me to the dance and I said yes, he was just being nice, and when I said: "I like it a little, okay?” waiting for her to say she was.
She just said: "Come on, you can't really like me. It’s Chris.”
I could still remember her telling me how lucky I was because it turned out that he couldn't go because his grandmother had passed away and he had to fly to Boston for the funeral. At that point Chris wasn't worth Anna's time or interest, so he wasn't supposed to be worth it to me.
But I thought so. I wanted to go to that dance with him, I wanted to be his girlfriend, but we couldn't go to the dance, and when he came back from the funeral Anna had told everyone that I hadn't wanted to go out with him and was too kind to say no.
He listened, of course, and we didn't speak again until the end of our freshman year of high school, when we ended up standing next to each other waiting to leave the school during a fire drill. I can't be the only person who sees the problem with that, right?
We spoke only one day.
"Hello, what's happening?" And guessing how burned we'd be if there was a real fire, And after that, I admit that I thought, wait, maybe, someday...
And then, something from six weeks ago, I saw him at a party.
I saw it, but Anna had it.
I see Anna waving at him as I get on the road. Chris raises a hand too, and I try not to think about that party. About what I thought at that moment.
About his hand touching mine. The party that Anna and Chris got together at was a thing where summer oh shit school is going to suck, and all the usual suspects were there. Anna ran into a bunch of people from the drama club, and everyone was talking about what work they wanted to do.
I was looking around the house, greeting everyone who passed by and talking about summer, We all agreed it was too short.
I wandered off to the studio, which was his usual study. A haven for dad complete with a comfy, stubby chair that they clearly didn't allow into any other space in the house, a collection of newspapers and magazines, all open in articles about sports, and two huge shelves, They ran from floor to ceiling and were filled with paperback books and what looked like old manuals, but there were also some books on the coffee table, of the kind that are all photographs. One of them was shoes.
And here's the thing about me: I like shoes. Good sneakers. I have twenty seven pairs, and twenty-five of them are ones that I decorated myself or bought already designed. Two pairs are in my room now, stark white and waiting for inspiration to strike.
Which leads me to what happened. There I was, flipping through the shoe book and wondering if I could get a copy and decorate a pair of sneakers with shoe cutouts. I saw heels around the edges, boot dancing across the top, and bright yellow lace with lovely tiny silver slippers on the ends. When I saw a painting on the wall.
I don't know much about art, but the painting was clearly valuable. It was nicely framed and had one of those little reflectors that say "Look! Look at this picture!" about her. I had also been waiting to see one of those little white cards screwed to the wall next to the painting with a little title like "the internal struggle of the human spirit", but there was nothing there, just the paint and the light.
The paint, well, it looked like shit.
I didn't mean it figuratively, I was serious, literal.
I moved a little closer, interested and horrified, and I practically had my nose against the glass frame when someone entered the room. I looked over there, and it was Chris. I smiled at him.
And then I felt my heart drop into my stomach because... Well, the summer had been very, very good with him.
Chris had always been three things: silly, joker and obsessed with music.
During the summer, had grown to the point that I had to look up to meet his eyes, and he had a pretty muscular body. Not the big, bulky kind you always picture when you hear those words, but long and toned ones.
He seemed... I wish I were a poet, but he looked beautiful in a strange, exotic way and when he said "Hi, Ada", I wanted to run up to him and trace the lines of his cheekbones with my fingers and then touch his hair.
And that's fine, the rest of it.
Although, I did not do it. I just said "Hi Chris, can you tell me what this is?, like he was normal old Chris, the one who had vomited just before giving an oral assignment in fifth grade and is not suddenly a wonderful creature whose face, that had all angles and was huge, with amazing blue eyes, It had come together in a way that worked and made me shiver.
"It's a painting” he mentions smiling at me. I had always liked Chris's smile, She was friendly and warm, but now in that face he had become, it was lethal.
“I, I kind of realized that.” I cleared my throat.
I knew from Anna that being beautiful wasn't all that great. Anna had changed in second and third grade. One day we were both first year girls, the next day, She was a supermodel who had an A-list girl as a best friend. Maybe it wasn't so dramatic, but it was quite sudden.
Anna had always been pretty, but she became beautiful quickly, and people had noticed it. She liked it at first, it was even all they noticed. And then she got used to it. That took a while though, and I remembered her screaming "I am more than breasts! You know?" to a boy we met at the shopping just after everything had changed for her, and then how I had cried that night in my room, hating that people looked at her and saw nothing more than her body and face.
“Looks like…" Chris remained silent, narrowing his eyes and looking at the painting.
"Shit?" I said, and then he smiled back at me. My stomach did a somersault with that smile and I swallowed hard. I told myself it was Chris, and that I had known and liked him forever.
The thing was, I had always liked him.
“That's what it looks like, but I don't think it is.” It still sounded the same, I still sounded like Chris, a voice that had been a little serious and deep for him before. Now he was laughing. “I think it's dust.” He pointed to the painting, careful not to touch the glass. “Look, do you see this?”
As soon as I saw Chris' reflection in the glass, I nodded anyway.
“Looks like a smudged handprint” I give it a short look, and then go back to see where it says. “Just like someone leaves a mark, time and nature wear it down. Maybe it's about what's left after you create something. The little you're not supposed to see, but that's what it has to be for a painting to exist.”
Now he actually sounded like the Chris I knew, the one who had greeted in the hallways every day last year, the one who was my friend.
“Or some boy just thought, hey, I have this gob of coffee, why don’t I smear it on a canvas?”
“Disgusting” we both laugh. “Where have you been all summer, anyway?”
"Me?" I'm ashamed to admit that I yelled at him.
“Yeah, I didn’t see you around.”
“That's because I was at home, helping out and all that.” explained. “My father paid me to paint the garage.”
Brilliant, now she sounded like a fourth grader. My dad paid me to paint the garage! I had no life!
“I painted too” speak. “Houses, I mean. Do not paint to paint. I did some of that, but most of it was at home, like I said.”
I relaxed a little more then, despite his appearance he was still Chris.
“So, that's how you got those muscles” I hit him on the arm. He shrugged, blushing a little.
Imagine a boy, He is a little taller than you, with the perfect skin of those that scream "Touch me!" and long disheveled hair. He looks so sweet, and it is. Surely you can understand why I dropped the book I was still holding.
He bent down to take it at the same time as me, and for a moment we were so close that I could have leaned over and kissed him.
“Take” He extended the book to me. We were still so close, and he was looking at me, the smile in his eyes darkening into something deeper, more intense.
“Thank you” although I bet it sounded more like "garatyuhrh", and then I reached for the book and he handed it to me, his hands touching mine for a moment.
And then he said "Ada", and took my hand again. I looked down, my ears stained with the dark green my father wanted for the garage, and his hands were stained too, white and yellow, and the book slid to the floor as he did more than touch my hand. He held it, and slid his fingers into mine.
Our palms were pressed together, And all I could think of was a line I had read somewhere, about palms pressed together like a kiss, and he was still looking at me and then we were standing, still holding hands, and I couldn't breathe, I couldn't move, I could only watch and wait, waiting and breathless for him to move closer and closer and….
“Ada, You won't believe what I heard the game would be. It’s… Oh”
It was Anna.
He looked straight at Chris, and smiled the smile she gave when she saw a boy she wanted to see.
"Hello you” she was splendid, tanned, Tall and beautiful, her black hair curled around her heart-shaped face, and I saw Chris smile back.
"Hello Anna” Chris greets her.
“What have you been doing this summer? “Come and tell me everything while I go to the store for some soda.” she smiled to me. “I have to go in a while. One more story about camping and I'll start screaming I swear, I wish I could have gone.”
"I know” Because he had been there when his mother said no, I tried not to notice that my hand was no longer touching Chris. “Don’t just bring Grape, okay?”
“I wouldn't just bring Grape , ok. I would, but I won't." He put his arm in Chris's as he led him out of the room, driving towards her as only she could, and by the time they returned with a few six-packs. Anna smiled at me, a pleasant, bright smile. “Chris likes Grape , too.” He throws me a can of Pepsi. "Your favorite."
“Mine too” Chris made that comment, but he wasn't looking at me, he was looking at Anna, perplexed I would even say stunned, and I knew he wasn't going to turn around.
I looked at her, and she was smiling the smile she made when she saw a boy she wanted., and that's when I knew I was going to get it because that's who she was and what she did.
I saw that I had already achieved it.
I went to the kitchen to drink my Pepsi. I served it in a glass with ice. I waited for the effervescence to dissolve. Delay techniques, and by the time I took it and returned to where Anna was, she and Chris were sitting together, talking.
Anna was nodding attentively, like everything he was saying meant to her. Chris was still looking at her slightly dazed, but then he looked at me and started to say something, and then Anna touched his face and kissed him in front of everyone.
And there it was. He was hers.
He could have talked to me first. He might have even held my hand first. But that didn't matter.

it was the last year of college and it was like you slaved away at your school work that it was numbing to even do your hobbies.
the light in you was dying that your heart should've stopped years ago.
no parties can save you.
you threw away the invitation for the college party, everything was blur to you. too much responsibility on your shoulders and no shoulder to cry on, your roommate no less too busy with his own life to go fuck himself over some girl he broke up with and you slip away everytime you were close to talking to him. he wouldn't listen anyways, head too busy in the clouds as he loses himself again.
the miscalls from your family didn't bother you anymore, it was aggravating to text them back everytime they remembered you so you pretend such a nuisance doesn't exist until it's too late.
"atleast pretend to care"
you told yourself in the mirror, eye twitching from your toothbrush that fall at your feet when your hand collided with the sink. you were worse for wear, eyebags getting darker as you thumbed through social media and letting a few minutes pass before picking up the brush.
instead of calling back, you left a long line of texts with another brand new line of excuses to shut them up with a bunch of emojis for some normalcy. you cleaned up the brush before applying another line of toothpaste onto it and slumped, remembering how money was also running low. thankfully, you didn't share money with your roommate or anything but inflation was upon us.
no way you wanted to ask from your family. they fared well but it was like a hit list on how much you'd ask them and that when you get back home, they'll use it against you and scream in your face while you're strung up limbly like a doll by not responding at all. a response is asking for a fight, no response is to defuse their thoughts by letting them pile ontop of you until they move onto another thing to complain about.
you nearly choke at the taste of blood and pulled away from your toothbrush, red coated your tongue and the gums of your teeth before they quickly get washed off including your grimy face.
another shower may do you good before you worry more about other things. should it be saving up more money or that you haven't come to work for two days now?
oh, this is killing you, why couldn't you just turn the cutter towards your neck? you'd sob so loudly when the blood on your thighs washes over and the cuts burn and twist your skin in and out that you desperately grabbed onto the shower walls. staring down at your scars that barely heal, you made sure to pick pants that wouldn't bother your battered skin. your mind lingers again, the pressure of the water against your head calmer than the caress of your mother's hand combing through your hair.
how did it went downhill in your life?
the folks here were seperated into systems of the typical tropes of college but you weren't treated that badly. there were stares and badmouthing but it never harmed you. so college wasn't the problem.
or maybe it was the relative that passed where you bawled so hard over? yet, you'd never really known them, having correlations towards your passion and attitude only. seemingly called a reflection of them by your other family members but the memory of said late relative lingers in your head sometimes like the wax that's left after the flames took it out but it can only be reshaped if you want to.
but you never pried into the past of that relative so it couldn't be.
you lost yourself way before the impending family problems and countless homeworks you had that the addicting press off the cutter felt more like home than home ever was.
no, dont go back there, it wont help.
drying yourself off, you decided you should atleast take the night shift. clothes tossed on, you couldn't slump around this time. you had something due in a week so maybe work was better to focus on at the moment. passing your roommate's room, you nearly stumbled out the door. night was fast aporoaching this time, it made you ill. the sun or the moon was something you could tell apart from the slow days that passed, without it was living like you're dying.
you took the shortcut, a creepy alleyway but if you were quick; you didn't have to deal with any drunkards and steadily walked. you clutched your earphones in your hand as you tried to listem for any noise that can ruin the night and jumped back to somebody that reached out for you.
"hey there..!"
the man drawled, oh god.
he was drunk or rather high with how hard he was clutching something in his hands but nonetheless it creeped you out, you walked hurriedly away from him.
it was amazing on how stupidly quick he was. his eyes were rolling to the back of his head and drool smearing his lips as he pursues you. your sling bag slipped from your arm which was held tight incase you needed to hit him.
the road down was getting slippery just a bit near to the cornerstore where you worked at, you could dissappear through the backdoor incase he gave chase. or was that a bad choice? he'd know where you work at if he remembered a part of you. thats why you didnt want to yell back incase he recognizes it if he scuttles into your work place and do god knows what there. not a lot of people were around at the hours you work at too.
tears spilled from your eyes, you always were the fearful type. thats why you havent died, just the thought of dying was perfect for you but never the action. you could die in this situation, what if he had a knife. you didnt want that. such an unflattering way to die by some weirdo whose name will be forgotteen after a few days of town talk.
you wanted to die but not this, no!
you swerved the corner and you heard the man gasp.. or choke?
you turned back immediately and another man was holding him by the throat, slamming him back on the graffitied wall with a dangerous glare towards the creep.
"get the fuck out of here!" was enough for the man to whimper and cry, running away back to the alleyway and his footsteps faded away slowly but if you just listen a little closer, he was really running for his life in his drunken stupor.
the stranger's fist was a bit bloody, you didnt know where he had hit himself, hell was that even his blood?
"shit, thank you.."
you exhaled sharply, you had held your breath so long eversince you had turned around. your heart beating so fast to what you thought was gonna happen if the creep caught up with you. this white haired stranger smiled widely, a bit too wide for almost beating up a man and walked towards you.
"you okay? theres been a lot more creeps lately. that must've shaken you up, do you need..?"
he opens his arms up to which you shifted akwardly, hand on your arm. should you? he saved your life and you haven't hugged anybody for a while. hell, you needed something to stop your panic and nearly fell right into his arms. he chuckled, rubbing your back in comfort as he fumbles with something in his bag in the other hand.
"where were you headed? i'll take you there. who know what other weirdos are out here."
you nodded slowly, feeling more at ease when both of his arms wrap around you. you wanted to stay in his chest for a while, scent so nice to inhale but you pulled away swiftly. wow, nearly caught yourself being the creep, this was revolting. you haven't felt affection in the longest time that some stranger's arms were what stabilize you, it was almost embarassing. you might as well ask him to bed you with how you nearly nuzzled into him.
you turned around and he slipped his fingers between yours which was a bit peculiar.
he laughed boyishly, putting his hands up defensively.
"sorry, its just instict. im worried about you!"
looking at him again, he was very pretty. such nice lashes fluttering at you as he utters his words and you shook your head almost mechanically. you dont get a lot of nice strangers like this often, it nearly made you feel too relaxed. it was fine, he probably goes through this with other people that walk alone at night and get disturbed by whatever.
"i'm kinda late now to my work.. but its fine, can you back me up?" he did a thumbs up before walking with you, finally turning the corner and seeing the signboard of the convenient shop lit up. you looked up at him, wanting to thank him again before one of his arms slip behind your waist and your vision becomes blurry.
a car drove past, stopping beside the two.
your limbs felt heavy and you started seeing black and he held you close.
"don't worry, i'll do more than back you up."
------------
this was warm. it felt too warm like a mother's womb. or was that a strange way to describe this feeling? maybe it was more thicker than the blankets you had back at your home or maybe it wasn't your blankets at all?
you woke up in a sweat, head aching with great pain as you let your eyes adjust to the dark.
what was going on?
why was the stranger that helped you was here? legs held to his chest as he watches a movie while another stranger combs through your hair and he was so close, you'd nearly scream. chains rattle and your feet feels so cold. you were so disoriented that whatever noise you managed out of you made the stranger from earlier made him whip his head back.
"it's okay, y/n. we'll explain."
he moved so quick that he was right next to you, gripping your chin so suddenly which made you back up. he held onto you by your clothes and it made the fabric stretch, these weren't your clothes either. just what the fuck was going on?! you screeched, tearing away from him and it made the other stranger hold onto the other's wrist.
"satoru, don't act like a hooligan. you're scaring them"
the one named 'satoru' backed off, chuckling and putting his hands up defensively like how he did before except the look in his eyes were so much more carnal than ever before.
"cmon, its natural to get excited to have your plan work out. on such a random night and way more early than your intended timing, suguru?"
it was like a challenge for 'suguru' to bite back but he couldn't care less and looked back at you. it was eerie. his eyes a swirl of purple and such an illusion had you staring back into them which gave him a chance to touch you even more where he adjusted your clothes and patting them back to how it originally look.
"how'd you feel, darling? i'll explain, we three go to same college, remember us?"
you only had to a bunch of people remembered in your head that anymore than that, you dont bother to remember but their names were farmiliar. people do talk about them all the time so would you shake your head or nod? nonetheless, satoru butts in and thumbs your lips.
"so? speak up, your voice's too pretty to just nod as a response~"
you pulled away, a rush of tears rolling down your face at the realisation of how messed up this situation was. two men in this cold room. you were kidnapped. you didn't know whether to scream or bite back when they started cooing and wiping at your tears. it felt so insulting when they talked like you weren't there, you wanted to quale with anger but your eyes snap back to the shackles on your feet. they notice that you knew, suguru shoves his finger onto satoru's lips before he said something else that could trigger you.
"well, sweetheart. i know all of this can be scary but none of this is to hurt you-"
"how the hell, what the hell do you mean by that? you kidnap me to just look at me, is that what you're telling me!?"
that came out in one breath that you paused, your sobbing stop a bit. this was bad. oh no, you weren't rational. well, you were never rational but in this situation with two strangers from college, they could easily chuck you in a body bag and call it a day. your sniffling gets louder when suguru pressed his thumb into your cheek and turned your head towards him.
his expression was almost indescribable. was he angry? was he amused? was he planning things? this was making you dizzy. they might talk about killing your right here right now too as they had no shame to cover up their plans of kidnapping you. but a small huff was let out from his lips as he held your face so tenderly.
"i know, this situation cam be scary but we've seen you around college. your artwork is just astounding and we wanted to go look for you, such an artist should hear our praise from us and yet you were nowhere to be found." satoru's brows quirked up when your eyes started gleaming a bit but blinking fast to try to hide some care into his words.
"when we found out how you've been so down in your mental issues, it saddens us. your teachers told us how you looked deeply affected by them. that you've been so lonely.." your chest starts heaving when he got so close to your face and your feet kicked the floor to slip away from him only for satoru to hold you from behind.
"we decided to keep you here as our little darling."
you blinked up, eyes twitching.
so they only saw you as entertainment that you were about to push them away from you and spit at them until satoru held your hand and kissed it, taking in your scent.
"sure, its the most foul thing to ever be called by us but we promise you're gonna enjoy it here!"
his arm slips from behind your neck and pulled you close to your chest, snickering when you tried to get away from him. his lips inch close to your ear and he whispers.
"we want to make you feel much better, away from everything you're experiencing and we want to talk about your passion too. wouldn't you like that? we'll provide it all for you. just say the word~"
your eyes nearly roll to the back of your head from the tears you squeezed out painfully. this had to be a joke. what was even going on anymore? your life had to be an absolute joke, you should've joined that one relative in death too.
but a life with them where your problems are almost nonexistent was just peaceful, did you died to get into this position. your crying had calmed down again. you looked up at them in worry, were they really telling the truth? a kiss was pressed softly on the forehead by suguru and his smile reached his eyes with such tenderness.
"you need time to process this, you can go back to sleep and think about it when you wake up.."
"orrrr enjoy your favourite!"
satoru popped open a bag from the restaurant you liked to go to but haven't in a while and the smell was just strong enough to taste it. your eyes linger to a pillow suguru held out for you and you'd nearly keel over. it was your pillow from your dorm and it made your head swirl in confusion.
just who are these two? why do they know so much when they heard you through passing? there was so much questions that they shut down with a kiss and slot their bodies right next to you.
but one thing was certain, you're not getting out of this soon.
hi, I just remembered your modern au yangvik art, and now I want to know your thoughts on a modern au for yangchen and kavik (if you could include chaisee and kalyaan thoughts, that would also be amazing)
omg yes this ask is like a year too late I won’t lie, but I do have a ridiculous yangchen kyoshi korra (undergrad) college roommates vision in my mind that I simply must excise so thank you for this opportunity! (obviously they’re all roughly the same age here. again, I fully acknowledge how ridiculous this premise is)
yangchen is on the basketball team, and she lives and breathes basketball. kyoshi is also on the basketball team. she doesn’t actually care about sports at all, but she’s their star player and she needs the scholarship. they’re also roommates with korra, who (is too short for basketball, but) plays a bunch of other sports so they all kind of know each other through that (korra and rangi are also on the same soccer team), and so they decide to live together sophomore year onwards.
yangchen’s freshman assigned roommate was chaisee, who inexplicably pisses her off for reasons she can’t actually name, which only pisses her off harder because she’s somehow the only person on campus who can sense her heinous vibes.
kavik’s freshman roommate is jujinta, which is terrible for him because jujinta hates him for some inexplicable reason (the reason is that sometimes he leaves empty bowls out for a couple hours, and jujinta wants his head for it, naturally).
kavik is technically pre-med, but the math department keeps trying to recruit him because they need more guys who are good at math and also know how to talk to people.
kavik first meets yangchen playing go at a board game party (they’re both very cool). they’re the first person the other meets who actually proves a difficult opponent, so they’re both instantly intrigued.
yangchen wants to be able to affect policy, so she majors in international relations, but immediately she’s like “why is this field so unserious,” and starts taking a bunch of other inter-department classes to supplement it so that she can still have the degree necessary to go into her designated field, but also actually maybe learn something real in the process. she has to get special permission from the registrar every single semester to take like six classes, and by the time she graduates (she chooses not to graduate early, even though she could), she’s taken at least one class in pretty much every major department. she ends up minoring in philosophy.
kavik is always kind of insecure about the fact that kalyaan goes to an ivy league school and plans to go into tech or finance and make a bunch of money, while he accepted a scholarship close to home to be with his parents and plans to spend the next ten years (at least) training to be a doctor. especially because he knows that he does have a natural penchant for the skills required to work in those fields, and could easily make even more money than kalyaan pursuing it, whereas med school is impossibly difficult for even the most gifted student. so he’s constantly questioning his life choices, but deep down, he knows it’s what he wants to do more than anything.
both of yangchen’s roommates have beautiful girlfriends who are always over and practically live there. technically kavik is also always over and practically lives there, but kyoshi and korra lowkey just assume he’s gay because they can never hear them having sex through the walls, unlike yangchen, who can hear them constantly. he’s not gay, of course. they’re both just really weird heterosexuals.
despite not actually being a math major, kavik knows basically every professor in the department. so when their fourth player is sick, kavik invites yangchen to join him, professor tayagum, and his husband professor akuudan, for their weekly game of mahjong. thus begins a tradition.
one time yangchen can’t make it because she has a game, and since kavik feels obliged to go to her game, he also can’t make it. instead of cancelling, korra and asami offer to sub in instead. korra has never actually played before and barely understands the rules. asami, on the other hand, is so good that it’s actually not even fun anymore.
ayunerak is the dean, and everyone likes her because she’s very chill but also scarily competent. feishan is the president and he’s famous for being the world’s most irrational, irascible hardass. no one likes him, not even his own parents.
jetsun went missing when yangchen was a child. she’s been presumed dead for years, but yangchen doesn’t actually know for sure, and has been holding out hope her whole life that one day she will see her again. she went to this school specifically because it’s in the area of where jetsun was last seen. after all, she could have gone anywhere. she never does find jetsun again, of course, but she learns to make her peace with it, and sometimes she can feel jetsun visiting her in dreams, wherein she tells her to move on.
henshe is yangchen’s TA. she swears she didn’t mean to do it, but she asks him a question during class on a particularly stressful day for him, and he doesn’t actually know how to answer the question so instead he simply breaks down in tears and collapses on the floor. he has to be dragged away by emergency medical services. he doesn’t come back to class for two weeks after that.
kyoshi joins the lit mag in her junior year. she quickly realizes that this is not the place for her, as chaisee runs that shit like the navy. she quits and explains why to yangchen, who has never felt more vindicated in her entire life. she knew she wasn’t the only person who disliked that bitch.
kavik meets chaisee only once while in college, late in their senior year, and says to yangchen, “oh yeah, you were right, she has awful vibes.” unfortunately, in five years’ time, he will learn that she is in a very dedicated relationship with his brother, and they are expecting a daughter soon. they met while working for the same defense contractor.
kavik and yangchen take exactly one class together, and it is the philosophy of science. they get absolutely nothing done in that class because they just spend the whole time texting each other observations about the other students. they somehow manage to both get A’s anyway.
after graduation, yangchen and kavik move in together, which is nice because they’re already best friends who know all of each other’s worst habits and don’t really mind them, but is also kind of sad because she lowkey misses the beautiful dykes she used to live with. they still text one another in the groupchat constantly, but alas, it’s not the same. kavik is like “sorry i’m not a gorgeous lesbian????” and yangchen just goes “you should be.”
oh, and roku and kuruk are also students there, but no one in their friend group ever pays them any attention. kavik and kuruk are friendly enough at board game night, but kuruk is a party animal and runs with a very different crowd. and roku is just plain lame and no one likes him. he’s in some of yangchen’s IR classes and all his comments are reductive and straight-up tedious. the only capacity in which she appreciates this man is when she gets to politely destroy him. how he managed to pull ta min, no one will ever know.
every year on the anniversary of jetsun’s “disappearance,” kavik spends all day baking yangchen a platter of differently flavored macarons. he rarely ever bakes, but he’s extremely good at it, and it always cheers her up without fail, every year. she somehow never notices the pattern.
What inspired u to get a degree in math just curious now :) :0
i've always been really good at math. for some reason, it comes extremely naturally to me. i chalk it up to genes and also my environment. i was fortunate enough to have 2 very present parents in my life that really valued education, so not only was i reading at an early age, but any time we travelled, we would do math flashcards in the car.
i was told that university courses would be difficult, so i braced for math to get harder. but it never really did. like yes, i had to do homework and study for tests, but i never had to work to understand something, it always just clicked. i think i'm simply hardwired for math. and i really love it. it makes so much sense to me, and it's almost beautiful the way a lot of complex mathematics works. it's like you're tapped into the universe and it's speaking about the mysteries of existence, and you learn to listen and speak back.
Hi, I see that you selfship with Prompto and Noctis! I would love to hear about your FFXV s/i and your ship with them if you'd like to share!
Hello Anon!! :D Agksnfkdk I'd be happy to share about them! I love getting the opportunity to go off about my s/is and ships to thank you for the opportunity <3
So basically my FFXV s/i was born in the Kingdom of Lucius! They met Prompto and Noct in high school and the three became inseparable ever since <3 At some point in High School, Noct and Prompto are chatting in private and reveal their crush and have a Spiderman Pointing Meme moment when they realize that they both like Panchi-gjdbgjdf The two just gush together! It's pretty cute! Panchi doesn't develop feelings for the two of them till the actual road trip starts! Speaking of the road trip, Panchi's weapon is an Axe and you cna often see them journaling during the adventure!
If you're wondering how Panchi gets along with Gladio and Ignis...They get along well actually! Panchi really respects Ignis so they always call him by his name instead of a nickname like Iggy and help him out with cooking from time to time and help him encourage Noctis to eat his veggies. Panchi is a little intimidated by Gladio when they first meet him but they warm up eventually! I like to think that Panchi immediately goes to Gladio for advice once they've caught feelings for Prompto and Noctis-afkdnfks Gladio had probably teased the three of them about being so close on multiple occasions
Also I have like multiple versions of the plot in my head bc of the ending but in the Au where Noctis is Alive and Well, the three of them are happily dating each other! Noct gets two boyfriends to nap with, Prompto gets two boyfriends who reassure him that he's loved and take photos with him (even if Panchi is extremely camera shy), and Panchi gets two boyfriends to play videogames with! All three of them know each other well because of all the years they've known each other and it shows, the three have multiple inside jokes and are so comfortable around each other! If Noct is the Moon and Prompto is the Sun then Panchi is the Stars!
Art by the lovely Cupiidzbow! His art is absolutely lovely and totally recommend commissioning him if you can!
Kinda funny how I actually enjoyed cataloging when I was working in a library, but now that I'm taking a class on cataloging my brain has started shutting down at the very mention of the word ...
