the jujutsu system is not one that operates independently because it's state-sanctioned, and i wonder if that (along with the cultural context of tradition and hierarchy) is one of the reasons why gojo chose to stay and try to change things from the inside.
#(aside from his interpersonal reasons)#because he would be uprooting more than the jujutsu system#and the jujutsu system is a part of something greater than itself#while gojo was powerful materially and intangibly#he was also working under the government meaning he was a civil servant#(or at least is of a similar function)#and of working class#theoretically as a 'one man army' he could've done what he wanted#instead of opting for a 'from the inside; slowly but surely' method#but given his background and given the setting's culture#i see why he wouldn't#no matter how anti-traditionalist he may be#whoops i meant 'may have been' rip#gojo#jjk#i miss yapping....will yap more soon

The problem with “senseless violence” narrative around the UnitedHealthcare CEO is that it ignores the inherent violence of the insurance industry. Denying someone lifesaving care is violence. Subjecting someone to drawn out periods of pain before treatment is violent. The industry is made up of millions of acts of violence everyday, with the CEO at the helm guiding it all. This is not unprovoked and it’s not an overreaction; it is just harder to ignore
#people really need to learn their history#regulation is the alternative to working class people getting up and committing violence#united healthcare

It’s not lost on me that Bernie Sanders is the only mainstream politician touring the country rn listening to Americans’ concerns, giving them hope that a better world is still possible. Not campaigning for President, not an election year, just inspiring swing town voters to use their power to incite change in their communities.
Bernie is 83yo, doing the work that every single Democrat could be doing simply in their own district. He’s packing overflow rooms by the thousands in suburban and rural towns, not “democratic strongholds”. It is possible to get through the next four years but the status quo Dems aren’t going to make that happen.
Imagine what a true progressive party could do for the US. Leftist policy is popular and wins elections. Bernie and others have told us this for decades. If you tuned out his message before, I have to wonder what side you’re truly on. Because his shtick has not wavered with everyday Americans.
Not me, us.

June 4, 2025 - Dockers at a major French port on Wednesday refused to load a container with machine gun spare parts bound for Israel, saying they “will not take part in the ongoing genocide (in Gaza) orchestrated by the Israeli government,” according to broadcaster Franceinfo.
Dockers at the port of Marseille-Fos have set aside a container containing "spare parts for machine guns," and they "will not load it onto the ship bound for Haifa" in Israel, the Gulf of Fos branch of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) announced in a statement.
The union confirmed that it was alerted by several networks that 19 pallets of Eurolink belts were to be shipped to Israel on Thursday. The Eurolink belts are spare parts for machine guns used by the Israeli army.
"The port of Marseille-Fos must not be used to supply the Israeli army. The dockworkers and port staff of the Gulf of Fos will not take part in the ongoing genocide orchestrated by the Israeli government. We stand for peace among people. We condemn all these armed conflicts that bring death, misery, and the displacement of populations," it added. [link]/[link]

I need y’all to understand that every time that somebody who makes $10,000 a year thinks that somebody who makes $30,000 a year thinks that somebody who makes $50,000 a year thinks that somebody who makes $100,000 a year thinks that YES EVEN somebody who makes $150,000 a year is the real enemy
…a billionaire wins and we all lose.
And every time that somebody who makes $150,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $100,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $50,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $30,000 a year thinks that they’re better than somebody else who makes $10,000 a year
…a billionaire wins and we all lose.
Privilege and comfort rises with income, obvi. It’s not all “the same.” But please zoom the fuck out and look at the whole picture. The WHOLE picture.
#class warfare#working class#MEANING we must work to live MEANING we’re all#in this together and it’s mighty convenient for THEM when all of us are fighting

it’s not necessarily that I hate the themes most prevalent in fiction set in the real world and it’s not necessarily that I don’t like stories revolving around real people or relationship drama or interpersonal issues it’s more like im a dog who doesn’t recognize that a pill is still a pill if it has peanut butter on it. I need like the little peanut butter spoonful that is aliens or robots or monsters or time travel or something fantastical and not at all down to earth real life so that you can approach me and be like “this story is about how friendships can deteriorate over time and also how this guy feels bad for being a bad friend and causing his buddy problems with their girlfriend” and then look at me making a face at you and be like “AND! they’re all aliens who are doing all that across spacetime” and I’ll be like OHHHHHH OKAY YAY (shlop shlap shlup the sound of a dog horking down peanut butter pills) wow what a poignant story
#kipspeak#I tend to gravitate away from things that are that close to real life for reasons im still sussing out. Feels like work? Feels too direct?#Maybe it’s just not fun? But you could tell the EXACT SAME story just with magic sword knights and I’ll be like YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY#I dunno. I feel like that’s slightly shallow of me but I also feel like I don’t care and it’s my house and I can think stories set on norma#Earth with nothing else different are boring#It’s like when they’re real life like that#Every theme they try to get across comes and sits in my house and goes Hey. I’m telling you about YOU and THE WORLD.#And im like ugh. Okay. Whereas magic sword knights do that and im like omg…. They’re telling us about You and The World. That’s crazy……#It is also maybe a little bit that I don’t like interpersonal drama as the driving focus of a story#They should go to space about it#otherwise im in class and I need to adopt an entirely different mindset to be able to have fun with what you just gave me#man these guys aren’t even furries. Lame dude……

it's hard when you're forced into a situation with an autistic stranger (like, say, waiting for an elevator) where you're both trying to run the "how can I be a chameleon" scam on each other, and both short circuiting. it's like when ai images cannibalize themselves and start distorting into nonsense
#sorry to the lady in my class#you seem very nice#but we were trying to run the same software on each other and it wasn't entirely working#does anyone get what I'm saying though? I'm not just speaking in tongues?

There's something you need to know about US health insurance
While the topic is still hot I want to mention something I think is important. I have made a post or two before but it bears repeating.
I once worked at a call center of one of the leading health insurance companies
The corruption and coddling of "the rich" is REAL.
None of the executives of Facebook, snap chat, twitter (any social media or tech company) pay deductibles
YES THE RICH DO NOT HAVE DEDUCTIBLES
Not only that but ELECTIVE SURGERIES (noes jobs, boob jobs, face lifts, tummy tucks ect.) for these people was also covered in full.
And these are RICH people. Not your neighbor who collects fancy watches with the lake house. Not the guy with the loud shiny car or the lady with fancy clothes. Oh no those neighbors might as well be paupers cosplaying as rich compared to these people.
The other thing that I need to tell you is this: the children of the rich are walking pharmacies. All the party drugs normal people go to jail for "abusing" yeah these kids have a script even if the medications don't make sense to prescribe together.
One of the most radicalizing moments in my time there was:
I had one call with a RICH person and let them know their elective rhinoplasty and boob job for their wife was covered with no deductible. The plan they were on was like $250 a month, for a billionaire, for the whole family.
Right after that call I had to tell a young woman that her medically necessary abortion would not be covered.
Walking out of that job was not difficult. Keep in mind, the call center reps have no control over what insurance will and will not pay for. They cannot "do you favors" and push a claim in faster. I have plenty of stories from my time there, from people loosing their minds to actual threats to completely incompetent supervisors. But the thing that stuck with me the most is that the unfairness and corruption is baked into insurance from the start.
It's designed to keep/make you as poor as possible
