I am not surprised if they both fought over you.

Maybe you're a ninja in training and manage to catch the eye of the two.

They may just see themselves as your teachers, but they could also see themselves as a fatherly figure in your life.

Although, they are very different in their approach.

Splinter already has a family so he's already very welcoming.

He treats you similarly to April in terms of training you alongside the turtles.

In fact you'd be lucky if you met him first.

The way you could meet Shredder is most likely through... kidnapping.

It would make more sense if he kidnapped you to get info on Splinter and the turtles.

Although it could've just been the wrong place, wrong time.

Either way, when you're there you manage to intrigue Shredder into sparing you.

Only to be taken back by Splinter and the turtles.

This could serve as your first meeting with Splinter too if you want, where you get involved with the family due to having nowhere else to go.

Both of them would want to train you if they felt an attachment with you.

Splinter is adamant on training you for self-defense.

While Shredder may do it to make you another pawn or weapon at first.

I can see their rivalry being... brutal.

It always has been brutal, even before you came into the picture.

Shredder already wants to kill Splinter.

Meanwhile Splinter has concerned himself with protecting his family.

When the two realize they both have a similar goal, it just gets worse.

Shredder wants to make you fully loyal to the Foot Clan so he can break Splinter.

Splinter focuses on having the turtles (and maybe April + Casey) protect you.

Splinter is much more caring, often showing affection and providing you shelter when you need it.

He just seems like a caring dad or mentor who wants to protect you.

Later on he seems to want to isolate you from your actual family... but right now he has Shredder to deal with.

Meanwhile Shredder is more cruel and intense.

He isn't really affectionate, just ask Karai.

Although he does care for you enough to show distress when others take you out of his sight.

Splinter would not usually kill to keep you in his care, not unless he was cornered.

Shredder on the other hand... would probably kill the entirety of New York if it meant you'd be his loyal apprentice.

As you can see... They are vastly different.

We've even seen them fight countless times in the shows, even times where Shredder brutally wounds Splinter.

Blood will be shed between them countless times before there is any conclusion.

The moment those two come together to fight, you can only hope whatever the outcome is will benefit you.

You no doubt are aware of the tension caused by your presence.

Yet even if you put yourself in isolation, one of them is going to find you.

I can see them both sending others to check in with you.

Shredder has countless soldiers and mutants.

Meanwhile Splinter has the turtles, April, and Casey.

I can also see you being thrown into a loop of constant kidnapping and rescuing... no matter who it is.

They try to convince you who is better, you end up tuning it out.

Frankly, you just want to go home... your REAL home.

While Splinter is more caring, he has his own issues with you being around others.

Shredder is straight up just volatile and cruel to those around you, yet strangely caring with you.

Even the best option here probably isn't healthy either.

You can only hope that some miracle saves you from this conflict.

The two have had tension for years between one another... one just waiting for the other to make a move...

With you thrown into the conflict, it's only a matter of time until things boil over and you're forced to see the fate that awaits you all.

✨️Moondrop progress update #1✨️

Picture 1 desc/info: knowing that I'd want to make Moondrop once I finished Sundrop, I made sure that(when I remembered to, as I'm learning that i wasn't quite as 100% consistent as I hoped I was) to make traced out references of each finished carved piece so that I wouldn't waste time struggling matching both of their proportions, considering nearly every piece required a duplicate piece to help achieve the eventual 'hollow skeleton' method that I use. Also, this is what I mean when I state that theyre carved from popsicle sticks. If it works, it works. lol

Picture 2 desc/info: here's the full lineup of every carved piece I have ready for Moondrop so far, and roughly how it will fit together. Every arm piece, leg piece, and even knee joint and the head piece have a duplicate(sans for the detail on the head's piece, obviously, though the headpiece is more complex than that as well). To further expand on why I did this, instead of just having one piece each, I need to point out the arm, hand, and ankle joint pieces. They will not be connected in two places, only one, to achieve full range of movement for the limb that they are attached to.

To achieve this, whilst still trying to keep this project's weight light, I'll create a hollowed skeleton. Essentially where the insides of the limbs(and body) are made hollow via smaller pieces of wood/popsickle stick scraps glued in-between the base pieces, but leaving enough empty space on either side to add two things. One side will have a rolled cylinder of a reinforced cardboard/paper mache combo, to provide a hollowed slot for the long joint piece side to slot into, and the other side, two hollowed holes to slot a dowel through with the joint piece inbetween. (If this doesn't make sense, dw, I plan on taking pictures when I get to that stage to show how I do it)

I also just end up stuffing the remaining 'dead-space' between the carved pieces with paper before i add clay, to further sheer off any unnecessary internal weight. Now, what you couldn't see with my Sundrop, is that by the time I finished adding clay and test stringing him together and started looking at reference photos again for color references, I hadn't realized up until that point that I'd entirely forgotten to add the dca standard wire-hook on his back. Not even superficially. So this will be where project Moondrop(whom at least uses the wire far more than sundrop, lol) will deviate from my original Sundrop design. I might use paper and cardboard to flesh out his limb shapes further before adding clay to make his body even lighter than suns, I've reinforced his torso pieces to account for the hole I'll carve into the back for my goal of a Functional wire-hook, I've made adjustments to his thigh shape for better ease of movement/posability(which might coincidentally make him just a smidgen shorter than Sun by design, shhh) because sundrops leg slots and the actual part of the leg that's supposed to slot in ended up quite a bit out of alignment due to the leg shape lacking a taper at the top to allow for a rounder end. Sundrop's legs are just a little janky bc of it.

Picture 3 desc/info: this is a look at the inbetween stage that the hip piece goes through, and you'll find that it's not reinforced with wood anywhere simply because of the completely curved surface. There were attempts made with sundrop to do this but they proved to be way too hard to bother with and less than affective with just popsickle sticks. Hense I use cardboard from a soda can box(aka cardboard that's compact and can carry a heavy capacity if the design is balanced and re-attachment points are reinforced properly) and then have so far gone over certain points with paper and glue(using the papermache method) to base reinforce places and also provide more adhesable texture internally. Because, that round piece(also cardboard) is going to sit in the main juncture of the top of the hips. A hole will be cut into it to maintain the ability to string the limbs and body together, and it will be further reinforced further with paper and glue, and later covered in clay- along with the rest of the hips inside and out, thus entirely made smaller than intended to account for the eventual bulk up of the piece. This cover provides a supportive divot in the hips that the middle torso piece can sit in that will give it the range of movement intended but also aid it in allowing the body to sit up straight otherwise(something that was discovered to be needed when working on finetuning sundrop whilst test-stringing, adding yet more weight due to the fix having been made solidly out of clay. Probably provides more support to Sundrop this way, but Moon needs to be as light as possible to prevent stress cracks/damage/balance issues/ect. If I want him to be able to have a functional hook to be used to be displayed with.

On a less technical note, there isn't much to show in the skeleton stage for the middle torso piece bc it's just a hollow cylinder of cardboard, thin enough to escape the bulk, but wide enough to still be strung through. It's just a lil tube for Sundrops frame anyway lol. Though, tbf, I might bulk Moondrops middle with paper/cardboard/whatever I decide, for the, once again, lightweight intention. I use air dry clay but even still it do be solid af when dry and sealed lol

Off camera just inches out of shot of each picture is sundrop, whom has slowly become disrobed and carefully disassembled in places to give me size references for things, but also one of these updates I'll show you how I made his head/face/ ray settup- why? Because it broke. Cuz my dumbass should've used wire and not a wooden dowel to support it all. (Further more, I'm using it as an opportunity to eventually redo Suns rays, because when I did the first set, I went for accuracy in the ray count, but still wanted them to spin freely. But I realized I HATE the gap that's left anywhere if his rays arent perfectly positioned and honestly this mechanism breaking is my sign and chance to fix it now that the rays aren't locked in anymore lol.)

I've decided to give this progress update log the tag '#projectdcadoll' from now on, so any posts I make abt this in the future will have that tag!

Oasis Dress by Artlos for Sims 3 In preparation for my Lunar Lakes/Oasis Landing Generation in my first ever Legacy, I started to learn Converting stuff from Sims 4 to 3. There isn't much Futuristic/Sci-Fi looking stuff in 3 (atleast nothing I like) and the ITF stuff isn't a lot either so I took it into my own hand to look for something and found Arltos Oasis Dress, which was just perfect. I took 3 whole days to learn the process and it wasn't as bad thanks to my, somewhat, previous knowledge in Blender and @nightospheresims 's amazing guide! Ofc there was a lot of fucky wuckys but no one is perfect in their first try. (Download and more info under the Cut)

There is a issue with it tho. Some Vertices are visible on the light swatch (shoulder) but they were also there in Blender and I couldn't get rid of them, atleast not with my bare knowledge. You can only see them when you are very close tho. Maybe change swatch for Screenshots lol.

Also I didn't manage to make it dyeable. even tho I followed the guide, it seems like I didn't understand that 100%, lol. But I added some available Sets I liked the most. :) The Dress looks funky in CAS but as you can see on the Pictures, it is fine ingame!

So onto the download. I am not very confident sharing it because I am afraid it will not be perfect or cause issues, but that is probably just my anxiety speaking lmao. Honestly though, I dunno how it would've gone! Technically, nothing major would change if Jesse was taken out—he's more of a situation enhancer than a situation changer (with some exceptions). The Crush Thing was the whole reason Jesse became, well, Jesse in the first place, as the Fuchsia Ninja was just going to be a joke character until the end of S2 otherwise, which would've meant no big surprise-element lore, no EM!Mystake, certainly no Miranda, far less focus on the student Council kids (meaning Antonia and Harumi wouldn't have gotten nearly as much spotlight), and we wouldn't have gotten the majority of the Elemental Compass info until season 3 when it was truly relevant.........

Half of the initial problem with wanting to incorporate more of the Fuchsia Ninja (for more movie!DNA in the story) is that I couldn't come up with a reason as to why this guy would even care what the 'actual' ninja were doing (as again, this was also prior to the completion of the Compass + making Surprise a full-on Element + the whole 'it's all gotta be a secret' thing). At one point he was going to be Lil Nelson's babysitter, but then that still didn't provide ample opportunity to, like, get him involved in anything.

And I (in a rare moment of weakness) don't even know how I'd depict a fully platonic Jesse and Cole lmaoooooooo it feels WRONG—

Cole, in art class: Psst, hey you, pink guy.

Jesse: ...yeah?

Cole: Can I borrow a pencil?

Would you have shipped Cole with someone else or even Jesse with someone else? - Cole? Doubtful, especially now that DR is in the picture. Jesse? ...maybe? Aside from a brief thing with Skylor there's not really anyone else Jesse would have that sort of chemistry with—maybe post-S6 Sunni (which would piss Samantha off soooo bad lmfao), maybe a magician's assistant he gets down the line (who totally isn't a cute girl named Rory), maybe he just waits until adulthood to find a boyfriend or he just never gets bitten by the romance bug in the first place and resigns himself to not wanting and/or needing that kind of relationship and then we never get Cam

Would Jesse still have his character arc and be so close to the group?- The Character arc, yeah, definitely, since I kind of significantly need him for S4 now, but it all would've been squashed into S3-S4 rather than..."gently" paced out since S1. I doooon't think he would've been as close with the group though, and probably would've been like most of the other Derivatives and just tried to keep his nose down in the wake of all the chaos with The Order and whatnot (because if he's not nearly as involved in all the Elemental drama then there's no reason for Miranda's character to be a thing either, and that's even more personal motivation hacked away from him–)

Would the others have other opinions on him?-

Lloyd: He's interesting, wish I had more time to get to know him better. I never had time to ask though ;w;

I can help with the mounts, I do have photos for the references I used. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost my original reference for Oswin's horse, but I found one that is similar.

Chessy and Mule might be polar opposites too, so I can see why it would be hard to choose between them! You'll get to see bits of your chosen mount's personality as you travel as well. ^_^

The one below is what Chessy would look like. Her color is a bit lighter I think, but this is close. She's based on Arabian horses.

The one below here is what Eb would look like. The only difference is that the story's version has a full white star on the forehead. He's based on the Mustang.

Below is Bay Bay, based on various breeds of draft horses. The picture shows a breed called Gypsy Vanner. Bay bay is colored like this, but is actually bigger than this breed typically is.

And, of course, last but not least of the MC's mount options is Mule - based on mules, lol:

As for your second question... I included both curvy and voluptuous as options as some people interpretation differs a lot, and I wanted to leave it up to that reader's interpretation more than anything. But I will provide you with what comes to my mind with these words.

Personally, I would say curvy is a body that has rounder hips/rear with a chest/upper body that are about same size as each other. With curvy, you may see a slightly narrower waist as well. Perhaps you could say a thick "hourglass" shape - top and bottom are sized the same.

I, personally, would say voluptuous is similar, but the proportions are different than curvy - not as even and perhaps more full. You may have a much thicker rear with this type, and/or a much more endowed chest area. Maybe the thighs are thicker instead. This may be "pear" shaped or "apple" shaped too.

! Due to Tumblr's 30 image limit, I'll have to make this in parts. This one revolves around how I sort pictures to make them look aesthetic or just more organised in my script. + I'm not the best at organising tutorials sometimes but I'm trying to not make this confusing <//3

What do I use?

Other than Google Docs (obviously), — Fontspace | A background remover [my mains: 1, 2] | Pinterest/WeHeartIt/Google search, and other sources for pretty pictures, pngs, etc. 🤍🌙

bundling images

Using the different text wrapping options, I found that it helped a lot more to "bundle" images together, so that things look prettier + more organised.

This is pretty simple, honestly; Fontspace provides font text as pictures, transparent bg and not, — so organising the text from it will fall under the tut for this bit.

^ These are the text wrapping options. The first one is the default and limits text placement/movement, the other four allow you to move text where-ever on the document (especially if print view is off) but each do different things.

In order of settings, examples (press images to see properly):

! tip : If you're bundling images that "overlap" too much, make sure to crop at least one (or however many needed) past its actual size so that it won't be a pain in the ass moving them later on.

- You may also use "behind text" for one of them, if it helps, so that it's easier to select the images, this also applies to using image over text (examples in each image).

what I mean:

Using these features, I'll—as per the aesthetic of my script—sort things accordingly. Get creative with the way you're doing this, and keep experimenting 'till you're able to make stuff look the way you want, lol.

Going into the aesthetics more ;; I usually pick diff aesthetics for each script and refuse to script until I find a pretty one LMFOAOAO- But I especially go for inspiration from (Korean?) bullet journal aesthetics which include lots of image bundling and customised tables.

Why korean ones specifically? Idk the difference, but using "Korean" as a keyword gets the stuff I'm looking for. 💀 But I also search for little pngs I want to add to my script; and if it's a false transparent png or has any background, I use my background removers to make it an actual transparent png.

And, sometimes, I like to search for colours then use my snip tool to screenshot them really thin, like those brown-beige borders you see in all my posts, then use them in my script like highlighter lines, like-

That's pretty much it, really.

Fontspace fonts apply as well. One thing about Fontspace is that, you can change the colour of the text ;; as well as the background.

The brown colour is the text's colour, the blue one is the background's colour. You can of course choose to have no background, but it's there as an option.

I don't know of any features where you can save a colour but that's maybe me being dumb ;; but what I do is set a certain colour (i.e. blue) then use the colour adjustment in google docs to change it to black, red, or whatever over colours r in the script.

just to preface this I'll explain what the fuck is going on in mairuma in general first just to provide context bc idk how much you've absorbed by osmosis (also I rmr I told u abt mairuma once on discord but . I don't rmr a single thing that was said in that convo, only that it happened)

buckle up bc this ended up getting pretty fucking long

"mairimashita! iruma-kun" is an ongoing manga and anime series that revolves around iruma, a human boy who got sold by his parents to a powerful demon and started living his life in the netherworld.

this is he. baby boy. his new demon found family enrolls him in demon school, and so while hiding the fact that he is human, iruma starts attending babyls demon school. his new grandpa (who happens to be the chairman of said demon school) puts him in a class for problem children, saying "that way your classmates will catch more attention than you, and you won't be found out (as human)!!!!"

makes sense ? no, of course not, but this is a comedy-focused series, so that's just how it is

iruma and his classmates. they're called the misfits class. I love all of them (except for … one …) dearly and could ramble abt each individual character for hours but for now I am only focusing on jazz and allocer. starting with jazzy my boy jazzy

baby son boy he is just a little guy just a little man he's just a son. jazzy is a character who is seen as cool, clever, unapproachable and mature to most other characters but is actually a huge softie inside.

he's also a kleptomaniac but he doesn't usually steal shit on purpose, it's just habit. if you ask me he's done nothing wrong in his life ever

(irrelevant tangent: jazzy actually has a specific animal theme. can you guess which animal it is ??????? I'm just fucking with you it's impossible to guess, but he's supposed to be snake-themed. the only thing that even suggests that in his design is his forked tongue, but it's. not visible most of the time so it didn't even occur to me that he was supposed to be snake themed until. embarrassingly recently. anyway)

jazz has a terrible older brother (named rock. their names r jazz and rock. like the moosic) who steals from him and belittles him constantly, but he can't fight back because his family values skill above all else, so they consider it his own fault for being vulnerable to stealing. basically "git gud lol"

because of this, jazz longs to be a better older brother than his own, despite not actually having any younger siblings. he becomes attached to cute, defenseless-looking things easily and is weak to people who look up to him and ask him for help. he likes beeing relied on and being there for others. he starts seeing most of his classmates as his younger siblings too

basically he is just a little guy and bc so much abt jazzy reminds me of myself (including his black and red color scheme) I am incredibly attached to him and he's my #2 fave character in the whole series (the first one is … well, you can probably guess)

now about allocer … where do I begin. probably by saying we know little to nothing about him, and not because the author particularly intended him to be mysterious, but just because he doesn't get much attention in the series as a whole. despite being one of the main side characters, he gets sidelined incredibly often. he's forgettable, rarely relevant and overall one of the characters we have least information on

look at him and his goofy lion face. there's no reason for him to be so ignored, it's furryphobia plain and simple.

(side note: over the course of the series his character design becomes increasingly yassified and he lets his hair grow + dyes it so don't mind that he looks slightly different in almost every picture he's in)

regardless I'll do my best to tell what we know FOR SURE 100% CANON CONFIRMED about him and then I'll dwelve into theories and hc territory (all supported by canon info, but still pretty speculatory bc of how little info we have on him in general…)

first of all he is smart. second of all. he reads books. third of all. he scored #1 in all exams. fourth of all … he is smart. that's it. wish I was kidding, but that's what his character revolves around most of the time. he gets outshined by other characters all the fucking time and usually just shows up to spout a proverb or say something related to knowledge and wisdom.

aside from that, his characterization tends to be pretty inconsistent (because the author doesn't give a FUCK about him) but I'll report on his most consistent traits and ignore the . multiple . inconsistencies.

allocer is a reserved character who doesn't talk much about himself (this is intentional at least to some extent, evidenced by the picture above). he seems to be kind of awkward, the way he phrases things tends to be unnatural, too. compare these phrases:

(I'll get to what the fuck is going on in this scene in a second I just need to ramble about allocer first)

jazzy speaks in a much more natural, conversational way, saying "what are you saying���?", while allocer simply says "incomprehensible". when he's not speaking in proverbs and book quotes, he often drops weirdly-worded sentences like that.

there's a few different scenes that help us infer that he's not good at dealing with people and emotions. for example, his fanbook profile lists "women's feelings" as his weak subject. when he gets confessed to he also states it's "abstruse", aka confusing and hard to understand

basically what I'm saying is that he's arospec and autistic-coded and nobody can change my fucking mind ok if anybody wants to argue w/ me on this I hope you've spent at least half the time I have studying every major scene allocer is in like I have. I have lost my entire fucking mind trying to infer ANYTHING conclusive about his characterization out of the NEAR NONEXISTENT CRUMBS canon has given us.

with that out of the way I can finally start talking about jazz and allocer's dynamic ^_^

jazz and allocer first become close when they're assigned to train under the same mentor, general furfur — love this guy btw — before performing in the "harvest festival", a kind of practical exam every first year at babyls has to do.

yet, for some reason, instead of actually training the two, furfur takes them to a bar. jazz and allocer question this, but furfur shrugs it off saying that connecting with adults is part of their training.

spoiler alert: furfur is a little shit and he brought jazz and allocer here to sell them into child labor to pay for his debts with the bar (remember the pictures from a while ago that I used to compare their speech patterns? that was them realizing they were being sold. lol)

and so the two of them r stuck in hell together for the next 3 weeks

(side note #2: I love their matching outfits. they look so cute)

in this hostile environment, a weird partnership forms between them. they learn more about each other. jazz tells allocer about his evil fucked up brother and how frustrated he is that he couldn't see through furfur's bullshit, to which allocer replies he is actually just as upset.

allocer's face isn't very expressive and his voice is often monotone (again, autism…) so jazz is very surprised by this.

AOAOOGUGGGHG LOOKK AT HIS BLUSHY FACE … HE'S SO CUTEEE AGG89R9. I'M normal . I'm ok.

the two of them start working towards a common goal: HUMILIATING FURFUR AND SEEING HIM CRY.

anw long story short they come up with a plan using every dirty trick they learned from the adults at the bar, their plan doesn't fucking work, they get made fun of by furfur, and they're still stuck working for free. lol

but that's how their relationship forms. what I find so fascinating about them is that they have no reason to trust each other given the circumstances, but they still do. they form an unbreakable bond. they complement each other too, one being streets smart, while the other is books smart. the partners in crime ever.

also mairuma has these little after-credits side stories called sukimas and . I will let the video speak for itself bc watching this is what made me start shipping them in the first place. just watch

they have more interactions I could talk about in-depth, but their partnership during the harvest festival arc is the most major. still I'll briefly go over some other jazzllocer moments that make me insane

at some point during the harvest festival, jazz gets disqualified (long story). and though jazz and allocer were working together during it, they were never an official team, so allocer wasn't disqualified with him. still, near the end, allocer states that "there's no point in winning if it's not together (with jazz)" (thinking abt this makes me want to detonate myself like a bomb)

when they're second years, they're put in another exam and in this one each of the misfits is supposed to protect two first year students from the teachers hunting them. jazz's strategy? he entrusted his incredibly important protegees to allocer and confronted the teachers upfront as a diversion. in the end allocer couldn't protect his own first years, but he did protect jazzy's, which earned his buddy a rank up (once again I feel like exploding at this very moment)

3. mairuma has fanbooks and that includes character profiles with some trivia on them, including a "people they are currently paying attention to" section. in jazz's profile, allocer is the first one listed there (meaning he's the one he's paying the most attention to), followed by general furfur and his brother. in allocer's profile, jazz is the first one listed, followed by furfur again and then a teacher he bonded with in a diff arc (if you can't read japanese you'll just have to believe me on this one)

btw despite ALL OF THIS canon interaction, these two r a very rare rarepair. they don't have a romantic ao3 tag bc nobody has ever published a fic w/ this ship. the ONLY fic under their platonic tag isn't even about them, they're just side characters in it. every day this fact alone spirals me into further despair and insanity. Lol, why am I not surprised you asked for this? I love my little walking apocalypse though, so let's get cracking!

Anarac was born in the Araunian capital city of Dualn, about seven thousand years before the current era of Illaros. He's named Fifth-Blood because he's the fifth generation of his family to live within Dualn's walls. The Araunians had very strong city loyalties, so how long your family lived in a city was considered a source of pride. Five generations was considered a decently long time.

His lineage didn't save him from living paycheck to paycheck, though. Araun had a decent public school system, but Anarac dropped out at eighteen to A) get a job after his parents booted him out and B) because he and his then girlfriend ended up as teen parents. Life was a bit precarious for him then, however, it was far from unpleasant. He found a job at a restaurant while his now-wife, Eabain, went to school to become an alchemist. Their son was named Finian, and he soon was joined by a little brother, Baerdyn. Anarac knew he wasn't anyone's picture of success by any means, but he was content.

Things did eventually take a turn, though. Eabain began to regret settling down so soon and all but left in the night, moving to an entirely different city and leaving Anarac to raise their kids alone. Anarac had to quit his enjoyable cooking job for one that paid better - a market guard to be exact, though he did keep a food cart he sold sandwiches out of on the side. He worked his ass off to support his sons, who were his pride and joy.

But back then, things were different on Illaros. The world was new, and the gods weren't as practiced at keeping End at bay. There was a reason Araunian cities were built as compounds. Though the lack of natural light could be difficult, everyone was provided shelter from the gaze of the stars. Unless you ran a food cart and liked to sell to resting caravans late at night, that is.

The first time End reached a tendril into his mind, Anarac was hardly aware of what was happening. He felt an odd pressure and decided to follow it as it led him to a circle of dancing elven travelers, all whirling around one central figure in the garb of a priest. The next thing Anarac knew was waking up around noon, covered in sand and blood, no one to be seen. Shaken, he decided to pretend it had never happened. He had a family to look after. But as the nights went on, the pressure only became greater, until even within the walls of Dualn, he felt as if his skull might crack.

Desperate now, Anarac decided to go to a priest. The Araunians were more knowledgeable about End than current civilizations, so even as a simple market guard, Anarac had an inkling about what was happening to him. Such a decision would be his downfall, in the end. As he entered under the church's skylight, End possessed him, transforming him into a monstrous avatar of the embodiment of destruction. Using his body as its anchor, End rampaged through Araun, destroying temples to weaken the gods. Hundreds were killed in its wake.

Anarac kept his rebellious spirit, however. He pushed back against End constantly, waiting for any weakness to wrest control away. It was when he almost managed to drown the both of them that End decided enough was enough. Anarac needed to be broken.

End, wearing Anarac's skin, returned to his little apartment in Dualn. For the months their father had been away, Finian, now twelve, had done his best to take care of his brother, letting no one know their father was gone so that they wouldn't be split up and taken away to an orphanage. Except, now 'Anarac' was back. Both boys were overjoyed. Anarac pleaded for End to leave his sons alone, but a lesson had to be taught. End killed both children in gruesome fashion. This was the final straw for his cracking mind. Anarac never rebelled again. He kept up a constant pained scream as the Illarian Chosen destroyed him and End together. He didn't stop screaming even as his mind was taken up and made to be a part of End. He didn't stop until he was sent back down to Illaros again, just another mind of End now, to possess another unfortunate avatar: Izjik Meautammera.

After this, thinks get spoilery, but you know what happens, Wyked. After the events of End Times, Anarac's soul is given to the god of loyalty, as no one knows where the Araunian afterlife is. There, he would stay until the events of Starbreaker. The gods are looking to see what's beyond the Watchtower, you see, and for that, they need an expert in End.

here’s a piccrew I did a while back in a server I’m in that’s pretty close to what I look like and what I’d wear on a daily basis. my glasses are cat eyes and much more black than gold but I actually wore that outfit today haha (if anyone is interested I can link the piccrew!) (just realized the eyes aren’t colored in! my eyes are brown lol) most of my wardrobe is pink, crop tops, miniskirts, bell bottoms, and sandals. of course I have neutrals as well, but you’d be able to tell what or favorite color was by peeking in my closet haha. I won’t bore you anymore but I could go on forever about my wardrobe since I love talking about clothes and outfits!!

my sona is a little more complicated since she’s had two or three iterations now. she started just as me having fun with my roblox avatar and became a sona/oc at some point later down the line. her name is cinnamon, but I’ve been thinking about giving her a more normal name for stories and stuff. this is the first one! one of my beloved amazing beautiful friends drew the art provided. not sure about her socials but I’ll ask her the next chance I can so I can link her here!!

Talk Shop Tuesday: How do you settle on the setting in your fics? Do you base it around the plot? Or is it one of the first things you think of when planning the plot?

Tats, this is so complicated to explain because my writing method is so convoluted. I wanted to say "it just happens".

But picking the setting really depends first on what kind of story I'm telling. Unless I'm working in an AU, I'm probably using whatever setting is provided by canon. (Typically modern-day somewhat urban.)

Sometimes though, stories just have to be set somewhere specific. I want to write a Western AU? It's going to be set in some facsimile of the Western US. I want to write a mafia AU? An urban/city setting is most likely. And so on.

Now, when I'm setting up details on a scene's setting - house v. flat/apartment, bistro v. bar, etc. - I kind of let the characters dictate as much of that as I can.

One of my characters is much more likely to go to the little mom and pop deli shop for lunch than go out for drinks and dinner, so I'm going to put them in that deli shop to meet someone for food. Another of my characters doesn't drink - sending them to a bar is counter-intuitive (I mean, they can still go, but it's probably not their first pick.) A side character may live on the outskirts of town because they're married and have three beagles, but my MC may live in the city because they're single and wanted a shorter commute to work/access to city amenities.

So choosing details within my overall setting really is dependent upon the characters and what the plot needs.

But when it comes to writing it, I picture it like a stage - what's needed to set the tone and what's needed to interact with? I try to leave enough room for readers to fill in the blanks. (Whether that works or not remains to be seen.) This is also why, sometimes, I'll mention curtains or small trinkets and then you'll never hear about them again. They are no longer needed, but we can tell we're in the same place.

An example of this: In Feylands, Josie walks down snowy streets of a downtown city. She lives in an apartment building, doesn't own a car, and lives like 5 blocks from her office building. Just from that, you can extrapolate a lot of info about my setting. (I don't usually specify cities/towns in my writing. I will states/provinces/countries though.)

She frequents a burger/brewery joint a few blocks away - again, that tells you a lot about Josie and about the city she lives in.

It's walking home one night when a crucial plot glimmer happens - because where else could it happen? See how it all feeds back into itself?

Because it's set in a city, my character probably lives in an apartment. Because they live in an apartment, they probably don't have a car (or if they do, drive it infrequently). So they probably rely on mass transport or walking to get from A to B. Since they can walk to their job and their favorite spots, [key plot point] can happen. (No it is not kidnapping or a mugging, be creative. 😉)

That's how so many of my stories are written - big decisions inform small plot points and vice versa. I feel like I'm completely off my rocker saying this shit though lol.

Listen, working together they could solve ten cases in a second flat. But at the same time, them working together to shop at a store to get weekly groceries would result in a lifelong ban for all of them (at least until Poe bribed the store lol)

Any time the trio go anywhere, ever, Dazai is third wheeling in the background of Ranpoe and loves being dramatic about it. He constantly walks approximately five feet away from where Ranpo and Poe are hanging out to make his point more clear, takes his phone out, takes a pictures, and definitely captions it with something stupid to send to them later

Example:

Dazai: *sends an image of when they were all hanging out at the aquarium together. Ranpo and Poe are holding hands while standing in front of a touch tank, facing away from the camera and into the water. Dazai has the most disgruntled expression his face has the capability to create*

Dazai: Come to the aquarium, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.

Ranpo: Shut up. You got to touch a stingray of course you had fun

Poe: plus I bought you that 6 foot squid at the giftshop

Ranpo: Yeah, Poe bought you that squid. Who couldn’t have fun after that?!

Dazai: excuse you, “that squid” has a NAME!!!! Her name is Squidwardette

(Poe, Ranpo, and Dazai def fight over custody of said 6-foot Squidwardette on the weekends)

((“I bought her. Isn’t that like bringing her into the world? I should have custody on the weekends.”

“HEY! YOU DO NOT GET WEEKENDS! That’s leaving me with all of the parent responsibilities on weekdays while you have fun on weekends! It’s not fair!”

Despite the teasing, they all equally respect each other so much.

Dazai canonically respects Ranpo due to his intelligence not being dependent on an ability. He meets Poe and learns that A) his ability is not linked to his intelligence but to things he writes and B) he was almost able to defeat Ranpo. Dazai also canonically is not able to follow Ranpo’s thought process and keep up with him in certain parts of detective cases.

(He probably saw Poe as just another person to provoke and get a rise out of in the beginning since Poe’s so introverted around strangers. But then Dazai witnessed one of Poe’s… ahem. Passionate declarations of how great he is and how he's going to beat Ranpo one day and how he and Ranpo are the GREATEST RIVALS to ever exist despite being good friends and Dazai thought to himself. Oh. Cool. This one’s insane as well. Nice.) (Also, Ranpo has good taste in men)

(And then they were good friends ever since)

Ranpo just respects the two people who can actually keep up with him. And that he can get along with. Those are basically the two requirements for gaining Ranpo’s respect.

Poe respects anyone who Ranpo respects. His respect grew even more when, after Ranpo had finished solving yet another one of his manuscripts, Dazai asked to read one (because he wanted to make sure Poe was actually worth his salt and not just lying). Dazai of course solves it (though taking longer than Ranpo). Poe was probably a little bit upset at first since yet another person was able to best him, but quickly reassured himself it was just because it was a quick mystery he wrote up since Ranpo wanted one, and not the book he had spent 6 whole years writing like Ranpo had solved the first time. After getting over his shock, he definitely respected Dazai way more than before.

They would all help bail another of their group out if they got into trouble.

Poe: literally bailing them all out of prison

Ranpo: will literally bail from Poe and Dazai if he thinks their current weekend plans are too stupid. Don’t worry, he’ll come back later when they inevitably get into trouble with some sort of plan to get them out

Dazai: can talk his way out of almost any situation. If he can’t talk his way out, he can always turn to murder

Poe, Ranpo, and Dazai would all (and actually have) help each other hide a body, no questions asked. I will not elaborate.

Not the anon that asked or knows about the CPA stuff, but that made me think. For people who ask for proof, exactly what kind of proof? I mean, like that situation was probably co-workers talking. What are you supposed to do, record it? Take pictures of the texts that you then post, posting someone else’s conversation without their permission? For people that hook up with a player, do you want a sex tape? Take sneaky pictures like the gross paparazzi that can get you tossed out of places? Like I get wanting proof but logically you’re asking for something that can’t really be provided you know? Just my 2 cents.

I think you make a very interesting point, and this is something that people need to keep in mind when reading gossip blogs.

For example, I posted weeks ago that I have a source who told me that Tessa Virtue is pregnant. Without being too revealing, that's pretty much all I could say. Now that the pictures have come out, I have been proven to be correct, but there was no concrete "evidence" that I could post before that. You just had to take my word for it. I knew that I was telling the truth, and that my source was telling the truth, but there was no concrete way for me to "prove" to you all that I was not just making shit up.

I know that I have good intentions and that I don't make things up just to post them on here, and I know that many of my anons and anons on other gossip blogs have those same intentions. However, there are always bad actors, and there will always be rumors and gossip that turn out to be false.

When reading gossip blogs, you must take pretty much everything that is said with a grain of salt. Obviously if I am posting that X player has a girlfriend, and I am getting that information from their public instagram accounts - there's no nuance needed there. That's fact.

If I have anons coming in my inbox with tea to spill, unless they are sending me something very obviously outlandish, or I am using my judgement and suspect that they are just trying to start shit/spread rumors about themselves/their friends, I will post their ask. It is up to the readers of this blog to decide if they choose to believe, or not believe, the information that is sent in.

Readers of gossip blogs also don't have to choose whether they believe something or not. You can just read a post, consider it, and then file it away under "maybe".
