any tips and tricks for getting into the writing zone?
ok so i have 2 methods and they depend on what i'm writing on: story writing and essay writing (waring: this is a mini-ramble)
with essay writing,
get mad, get super fucking mad, write that shit with spite flowing in your veins. even when i'm writing essays and stories i enjoy, i drag my feet.
i whine and complain like a toddler in my head because despite this topic being one i enjoy, putting my excited tones and rambling into coherent words always tends to feel like i'm butchering that (which is why academic papers should simply let me swear in them and use the 1st pov bc it is sO easy and my thoughts flow a lot better but noooOOOOoooooOOOOOooooo, i have to be formal and proper and-)
also, outlining. fucking godsend with essays. it's why a lot of my longer essays have headings bc i use them to outline and keep my thought on one line of thought bc i have a rambling issue (which is then easily solved with parentheses, my beloved)
with story writing (notice how this is basically a heading? good job! you've found my mini outline for this reply! have a cookie 🍪)
i find that jotting down that scene that is nagging at your brain immediately is super helpful. and do it even if you're now writing out of order. pro-tip: writing out of order is THE best, endorphins be going crazy bc you're actually not fighting with your brain with the story but writing alongside your brain-map.
personally, i find it very difficult outlining a story (how contrary) because sometimes my mind changes ideas or switches the order of scenes, and it is exhausting trying to keep up with all of that in your outline. but i guess, my "outline" with stories is simply me jotting down a very quick summary of the plot that invaded my mind in one document, never touching it again, but staying true to it because i wrote it down. therefore, it exists no longer in the recesses of mind but it a physical statement/promise to complete.
also (this advice goes for both story and essays) it is ok to take a break, step back, and not look at your writing for some hours, days, weeks, months, years--fucking whenever.
my midterm essay? a fucking nightmare. loved the topic, would write something similar about it for fun, but the reason it took me so long to complete (and why i dragged my feet) was because of the "short" timeline i had to complete it. i felt like i was on a time crunch and that led to me procrastinating, stressing over it, and taking my grand old time researching for it. however, when i was able to work on it? i allowed myself to simply do as much as i could. if i was unable to look at that stupid document, i didn't look at it. if my mind had a really good thought or example for the topic rotating in my head? immediate sit down and get that thought onto the paper. it must exist.
i have fics sitting in my folders that have been unfinished in so long, but i still consider them as wips because (and here’s another subpart-advice) i tend to work on them when i am unable to touch my current work. to be frank, working on something else helps keep you in the writing zone even if you cannot stand to look at the blank/unfinished work you wanted to complete originally. when i was incapable of writing for the Monkie Destiny Challenge, i switched to working on writing and editing my teen wolf fic (a fic i had not looked at since July) because while i still had that itch to write, something was blocking me from completing the prompts. and when i switched fics, getting into the zone was a lot easier.
so, to recap:
when jumpstarting the writing zone for writing an essay, you get passionate (can be read as mad/spiteful), and outline your thought process of the essay with headings to keep the writing flow flowing (the headings do not need to stay in the final product but they are good to have in the draft) .
when jumpstarting story writing, write! that! shit! down!!!! chronological order doesn't mean shit when you're in the planning/writing phase. your readers don't have to know that you wrote/planned a character's death before writing/planning out the beginning. they just read it in the order you publish it in!
to keep the writing zone stable and in working condition, TAKE THOSE BREAKS BOO! who cares about your personal deadlines???? if you feel exhausted before opening up a doc, then take that break, babygirl. again, your reader(s) will not need to know (nor do they need to know) how long it took you to get your writing piece done. hell, if you still feel the itch to write but the thing you wanna do is not working, then work on something else you haven't touched in a while because that itch WILL get its scratch somewhere, so help me god.
so yeah, i hope this was helpful, anon (and coherent jfc there better not be a plethora of typos T^T). happy writing, and may your weekend be a healthy dose of eventful!

DaveFarts - Episode 11 “VoiceFarting” [Episode List] Tim and Adam are hanging out on... Liscord, playing some stuff together, waiting for Dave to join them for a game. When Adam unexpectedly has to leave however, Dave decides to do some… microphone testing.
VoiceFarting
“I’m going in as a mage ‘cause you fuckers can’t cast for shit” I heard Adam say right into my ears.
This was one of our usual game nights. We’d voice chat on Liscord on our own server and all that stuff. Adam was being, for the lack of a better term, kind of bitchy, ‘cause he thinks as himself as the most skilled gamer around even though we’re always reviving his ass. In the end it’s all in good fun of course, but we’d all happily mute him during a match if we could.
“Yes, Adam. Have fun with the ‘easy mode’ character.” I said, deliberately baiting him.
“Listen here you little shit” he immediately blurted “I can accept that you’re gay but I’m not going to accept the fact that you’re a scrub.” he said, obviously joking, though he did take skills seriously during a match.
“Yeah yeah but I’m the one using the axe, fighting enemies face-to-face like a man.” I kept teasing him. “How’s going up there? Still casting light arrows from your safe space?” I cackled.
“Excuse me???” his icon lighting up, the audio clipping “Why don’t we check your stats instead? Too afraid of looking like the scrub you are??? I literally made no mistakes last time.”
“Of course you didn’t: the chance of making mistakes is like 0% when you stand still and far from the battle.”
There was a moment of silence, then I heard Adam’s breath into the mic “You know I know where you live, right?”
I laughed but before I could continue this very deep and mature battle of wits, we both heard the sound notifying us that our bud Dave joined the voice chat. Now, whenever Dave joins, we usually hear every sound except for his voice, so we were ready to have our ears busted because of the noi-
“Hey noobs!” Dave greeted us, with a voice that was instead crystal clear.
“What the hell” both me and Adam said, our avatars lighting up at the same time.
“I see you noticed that you can now hear my beautiful voice perfectly.” he bragged, and rightfully so.
Normally we could hear his PC’s fans, what was going on down the street, cars passing by, atoms crashing into each others… farts. But now it was just Dave with his now-soothing voice calling us names.
“Are you finished?” Adam said.
But there was no response from Dave.
“Did he finally die?” Adam continued.
I heard a faint sigh of relief from Dave and then he went “Yeah, now I’m finished.”
I kind of suspected what happened but I didn’t say a word.
“Wait. You didn’t hear a thing?” Dave asked, puzzled.
Both me and Adam shrugged as if he could see us, but then said that no, we didn’t.
My detective skills told me that my gassy straight bud ripped one of his classic loud farts, but the new microphone had that “background noise reduction” feature (which my friend seriously needed) so it didn’t register his ass-blast as the old one usually did, so much so that Dave’s frequent farts would eventually turn into white noise for the rest of us. But now, his new headset was actually worth the price and all we could hear was indeed his voice.
“Can we just get into the game befo-“ Adam blurted, but was cut off mid-sentence by a loud, ear-piercing sound coming from Dave, though that wasn’t him speaking or screaming.
My fartbro really didn’t want us to miss what his ass is capable of, so we were both startled by a powerful, audio-clipping fart that completely overwhelmed our voice begging him to stop. And he did stop, but only after like 12 seconds. The rip was followed by the sound of Dave re-adjusting his microphone and laughing. “Hopefully you heard that now.” he chuckled.
I did hear it. I was very familiar with it. Truth is that Dave farting during our game sessions wasn’t anything new however. Even I was used to it, though that did pitch a tent in my shorts. I started wondering whether Dave was in jeans, shorts or boxers. Probably the latter, and shirtless, given that it was a warm evening. I tried to not to let my usual simp-ness over my bro take over me but apparently it was already too late, as I didn’t even notice Adam begin pissed off about an unwanted phone call.
“I’m sorry guys, I gotta take this one.” he said, annoyed. “Do not wait for me. Cya tomorrow I guess.”
And logged off, another sound notifying us that he went into the terrible real world realm.
“Alone at last, bro.” Dave said, in a flirty tone, just as Adam left.
I laughed and mindlessly switched to a different, this time single-player game as we needed at least 3 guys to play, one of those brutal action games that I suck at but I have to beat.
Dave did the same, with a similar game, and we both started gaming on our own but keeping each other company, like we usually do, occasionally exchanging opinions on what we were playing and so on.
“It’s probably his ex-girlfriend” Dave said.
“Yeah. I figured.” I simply answered.
Adam wasn’t really talkative about his personal stuff like me or even Dave, so neither us really knew what was going on. But if our bud didn’t want us to know, not fully know at least, then we respect this decision.
After a couple of more minutes of silence, I heard some sounds coming from Dave. Not a fart, this time though.
“Did you say something?” I asked.
I heard some muffled noises and then Dave’s voice, lower than usual though “I’m just messing with the settings here. I feel like sometimes the volume gets messed up.” and he was right.
“Yeah the audio is kind of low now.” I warned him.
I heard some more noises (keyboard tapping, mouse clicking, etc.) and then I heard him speak again.
Or, to be more precise, he did make a sound with his mouth, though those weren’t words; a loud belch, actually, right into my ears. Dave was more of a farter, but he wasn’t new to wild, incredible burps. I honestly prefer the more disgusting butt explosion, but I still tip my hat at my bro being a masterful air-bender from both ends.
“Yes, I did hear that.” I said, anticipating his question.
He laughed. “Thank you.” he answered, belching both word with care.
A couples of minutes of silence followed, with just me and Dave occasionally chatting but overall trying to be focused on our respective games. My straight bro was however not done with the “testing”.
“Are you hearing this bro?” he suddenly asked, trying not to laugh.
“No…?” I was puzzled.
“Wait. Let me just…”
I heard Dave removing his headset and as it got farther away from his head, a familiar sound got louder and louder instead, until it became unbearable.
“Are you hearing this now?” he shouted, though I could heard him over that sound.
The sound of yet another loud blast of gas, so loud it was glitching the audio. It was long and proud, dry as some of his best rips, and it just wouldn’t stop. The boss I was fighting somehow felt how distracted I was and one-shotted me with a swipe of his flaming sword but I couldn’t even hear any in-game sound ‘cause my straight gassy bro was basically farting right into my ears, albeit indirectly.
I instinctively reached for the pitched tent between my legs as the fart kept going strong and loud, so loud in fact that I had to lower the volume ‘cause my hears were starting to hurt.
After a grand total of 18 seconds, I once again heard Dave putting his headphones back on his head, wondering whether they were radioactive or melting at this point, due to all that poisonous gas.
“I gotta say… the sound quality is pretty spot-on. What headset are you using?” I joked.
Dave chuckled. “The same as yours actually. Thanks for the advice.”
We kept chatting a bit more as if he wasn’t a gassy teasing bastard but since he *is* a gassy teasing bastard I once again heard him, with no warning nor request from me, removing his headphones again and putting them (I assume) closer to the source of his underwear-clad ass.
Unsurprisingly, yet another manly, loud rip blasted through my own headphones right into my eardrums, renewing the hard-on I had only moments before. It sounded like a motorcycle passing by and I could only imagine how badly the stench was in Dave’s room. Lasting around 11 seconds, this time it got dangerously wet-ish towards the end, which I found hilarious but also made me rightfully worried about my bro maybe going a bit too far even for both of our standards.
“Dude.” I said, laughing a bit “You might want to go easy. That sounded risky.”
Dave, being the chill guy he is, just laughed about it. “Don’t worry, dude. I’m an expert.” and he ripped a short toot that was so loud I could even hear it without the microphone going straight into his butt this time.
We then kept gaming a bit more on our own. Dying over and over to that same boss made me think about how chill Dave was being -as usual- about my kink. I mean don’t get me wrong he always farted a lot while voice chatting but this time it was different, as he was now aware of my fetish. And, as always, I really appreciated that, just as I appreciated yet another thunderous blast, one that actually startled me, making me lose YET AGAIN.
“FUCK!” I blurted.
As the fart kept going, Dave moved the microphone closer to his face (but I still could hear the fart going) just to laugh at my gaming skills, completely aware however that his farts were a huge distraction on its own. He then planted the microphone once again in front of his butt and the blast went loud and proud.
“It’s just too easy.” he then chuckled, after finishing ripping that monstrous fart.
It was. I had to pause the game for a couple of minutes to calm down, the tent between my legs going harder and harder. Was Dave aware of this part as well? Of course he was, but he didn’t care. It was just a game for him, and he was constantly proving me how much of a pro gamer he was.
I hope he never gets nerfed.

Brave Girl (J.JK x Reader) ☁️💜🎀🔞
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jeon Jungkook x Reader (ft. Med student!Namjoon)
Genre: Angst, Fluff, Smut, Good Girl!AU
Warnings: Heavy angst, traffic accident, injury, hospital, Jungkook is panicking, MC gets hurt, Koo is just lost and hates hospitals :(, Namjoon being the hero he was born to be, fluffy and dramatic smut, overstimulation, mild DDLG themes, protected sex because we wrap it up in this household smh
Summary: you were supposed to be home at 6 to help Jungkook devour the feast that is the freshly baked pizza he’d made to welcome you back from your trip to your parents, yet when the clock strikes 9 you’re still not home. Just when Jungkook is about to call you since you didn’t react to his texts, he receives a call from you; and he swore his heart stopped beating. Loosing you had never been a thought in his head until now, but he might just gotten closer to this reality than he ever imagined being. And he hated it.
Good Girl || Sweet Girl || Smart Girl || Brave Girl || Pretty Girl
Tumblr media
"Alright, do we have everything now?" Jungkook asked, helping you place your pastel pink travel bag into his car, careful not to scratch all of the sparkling and colorful stickers on it. They looked a bit worn already, but you always felt a bit upset if there was another scratch to a prized posession such as your sticker-collection- yet when Jungkook told you not to put any more on your bag, you began to pout as well. You asked with a simple nod, already excited to meet your parents again after a long time apart. Jungkook offered to drive you to the bus station, not being able to bring you there entirely because he, quote unquote, 'didn't feel ready yet'. Many would've felt offended by that, but you knew not to read too much into it when it came to him- there were a lot of things for him that were still new, and his love was strong enough for you not to question it. You were both growing comfortable at your own pace, and that was enough for now.
Your parents had understood as well, even though your father had been a little more skeptic than the rest of your family; but he'd always been a little overprotective, so it didn't surprise you at all. While you were driving home, knees against the seat in front of you, you rummaged through your small backpack, taking out a small pack of gummi bears Jungkook had packed inside. He'd been so careful with everything, insisting on buying you this specific backpack because 'it's so soft, you can use it as a pillow inside the bus so you sleep better'. Maybe you were slowly making him soft as well? You were glad however that he had packed your headache medication in as well, long rides sadly having this effect on you sometimes.
Ever since you were a kid, you've always felt safe within public transport. You've been taking the bus and train to school for years, never truly thinking about the danger it could hold. Even now, with the pouring rain outside, you felt calm. Something that would change soon.
For now however, you just noticed how the jacket of the young man next to you slowly slipped off of his lap. He was asleep, you at least thought so, but you couldn't help but reach for the jacket before it could truly fall down onto the slightly muddy floor, your own shoes slightly at fault since it was quite muddy outside before you came in and sat down. "Ah, thanks-" He suddenly said, making your eyes widen at noticing how he only head headphones in. Maybe he hadn't been asleep after all?
"No problem" You said, putting your feet underneath your butt after having taken off your shoes. Your boyfriends' advice had proven to be quite nice after all, putting on comfortable loungewear such as your soft sweatpants and a large white shirt of Jungkooks collection (he had packed it in actually) were slowly proving to be way better than your typical attire. The guy next to you- Namjoon you'd found out on your first ride, having been seated next to him as well- looked quite casual as well. Instead of his more formal clothing he'd worn the first time you had talked to him he had switched to simply jeans and a loose sweater, something that made him seem a lot younger. "Listening to a podcast again?" You casually asked him, and he smiled, taking out one of his headphones.
"No, just music this time. That whole trip kind of drained me if I'm being honest." He explained, crossing his legs before conversing further. "What about you? Had fun with your family?" He said, genuinely interested it seemed. It was rare to find someone as honest as him. At first, you had been a bit careful, knowing that men usually had intentions that differed from what they were actually saying, but Namjoon had been just as friendly as before when you had told him about Jungkook. He just said that he seemed like a nice guy, nothing more to it, and still talked to you just the same.
You nodded your head at his question. "I was kind of sad when I had to leave again, but I also can't wait to come back home!" Excitedly you wiggled around a little, before you found a good position in your seat that didn't make your legs sleep in from being bend so much Namjoon smiled at you.
"I bet. I can't wait to fall into my own bed again as well." He said, before the bus swayed a bit, making you hold onto your belongings to keep them from falling down. Namjoon leaned into the middle a bit, to look at the front window and the driver. "Jesus, he's been driving like this for a few minutes now." He mumbled, making you a bit nervous. He was a very observant person from what you'd gathered until now, your first interaction had been him asking you about your headache even though you were sure it hadn't been too noticable. He was a med student however, top of his class he'd told you, so he probably had a third eye for things like that. "Hopefully they'll change drivers soon. He seems tired." He said, and gave you a reassuring smile. "It's gonna be fine-" He said, before the bus swayed again, this time however, pushing you against the front seat from the force. Seconds later the direction changed drastically, windows shattered, and the only thing you felt when you were able to gather your thoughts again was how cold it was.
Tumblr media
The wet ground was slowly seeping into your clothes, the weird feeling of muddy grass underneath your hands as you pulled yourself into a sitting position foreign. One of the first things you were noticing was the incredibly high pitched ringing in your ears, sounds muffled as if someone was holding their hands over them. Things were blurry, lights passing by, and something was moving in front of you. For some reason however, you were only having one thought. Jungkook. He'd know what to do. But where was your phone?
You slowly got up, yelping in pain when your knee gave out and made you fall back down again, scratching the palms of your hands open on some random branches and.. glass? Suddenly you remembered the bus, Namjoon talking to you, and then- it was as if someone skipped a video you haven't seen before, an entire fragment missing completely. You crawled out of the bushes and onto the pavement when you spotted your wet and dirty backpack, your things and several unknown items of other passengers scattered everywhere on the street. And there, just a small distance from you was you phone- the hello kitty charm ripped off and probably lost forever. The screen was an absolute mess, yet it was still working when you reached it, unlocking it with your passcode because your fingerprint scanner was a definite goner for sure. Your headache was killing you at this point, your nose running from the cold, and your mouth had a metallic and bitter taste. It started to ring. One time. Two times. A voice.
"Creepy, I was just about to text you princess. Are you close to the station yet?" He asked, you could hear the TV faintly in the background, then a little movement, his earring clattering against his plastic case he had around his phone, something that still didn't help him with his curse of breaking his screen in record time. "Hey, you there?" He said chuckling, when you eventually answered him. "Hm?" He said, suddenly furrowing his brows invisibly for you on the other side of town, ceasing his movements and instead getting up to grab the remote, silencing the TV. He could hear faint talking on your side, yet it didn't seem like casual chatter, but frantic.. almost as if someone was panicking in the background.
"I said uhm-" You started, swallowing the weird taste before looking around, noticing no movement, but someone began to shout a name, another one softly wheeping, noises increasing with every passing minute. You could faintly spot headlights behind the bus, someone driving past had noticed, and people suddenly stood at the sides. But your vision hadn't cleared yet, so maybe you just couldn't see. "I think- I think we had an accident 'Koo, I-" You said, suddenly chocking a little on the fluid in your throat, coughing to get things under control and your voice back. The mention of an accident, the way you spoke, and the cliche noise of you coughing made him get up immediately, frantically running to his jacket, reaching for his car keys. You always told him how funny it was to you how he always told everyone how organized he was, yet always loosing his car keys. Right now he wished you would make fun of him, he wished you would just say sike and reveal your joke, yet deep down he knew you would never joke about something like this.
“It’s okay baby, you’re gonna be okay, where are you?” He stresses, trying yet failing to keep his own demeanor calm over the phone. You answer him that you don’t know, and he just feels the confusion radiating off of you. Something was terribly wrong, he could feel it deep inside his veins by the way you seemed to be unable to catch an actual thought. “Are you hurt anywhere?” He asks, even though he fears the answer you might give him.
“I..don’t know? My head hurts.. I- Jungkook I think I’m bleeding, what do I do?” You stress, and feel your own panic rising in your throat, making your eyes water and nose burn. You wished you could just tell Jungkook where the hell you were but you didn’t know, streets completely strange to your eyes, shifting around like a fever dream, as if you’d never seen them before. “Kookie, ‘m scared.. I wanna sleep-“ you began to mumble, less and less conscious, your head beginning to rest on the cold ground, the bus now beginning to shift out of focus. There we’re a few people walking around and you wanted to wave, to tell them you’re here, but one of them who you recognized faintly as the guy who’d been sitting next to you during the ride noticed you anyways.
Jungkook started to panic on the other end of the line, desperately trying to pin your phones location. “No no no baby, you’re so brave, you’re such a brave girl, don’t sleep in on me right now okay?” He pleaded, growing more and more anxious the less you answered him. “Baby? Don’t stop talking to me now please.!” He said, trying to get an answer out of you. But the only thing he could hear was the soft white noise, no trace of your voice whatsoever. “Baby? Please-“ he said, eyes watering out of frustration as he noticed the sudden commotion outside, cars suddenly driving out of his nearest police station, sirens loud and clear. “Please, y/n, talk, say anything!” He begged, voice choked with unshed tears, throat closing up.
“Hello?” A stranger answered.
“Who are you? What happened to y/n? Is she okay? I-“ he tried to rush his questions as if that’d get him the answers faster.
“She’s- uh- I don’t know, the bus just suddenly lost control and she- I think she’s still breathing but uhm- look, we’re at, uh-“ Jungkook wasn’t listening after he’d gotten the information he so desperately craved. He knew where you were. He’d get to you. He needed to get to you. And for the first time ever, Jungkook actually started to pray.
He finally found his car keys, ripping the door open to close it with a loud bang behind him, TV running but long forgotten. His stubborn car door didn't open instantly, making him almost growl in anger at it, eyes watering again when he remembered how you always told him to just get it fixed instead of buying a new one. You always had this idea of things having a soul anyways, so you always told him he needed to be nice to his car, or it would be upset. Right now he was not fit to drive. He did it anyways.
He groaned at every red light, hating how he couldn't just run them over because your absolutely stupid voice kept ringing in his ear to drive safely, he hated it right now, so so much, he could've screamed at nothing right now at how enraged he was. Why didn't he just fucking jump over his own shadow and drive you to your parents? None of this would be a thing if he would just finally man up instead of cowering all the time, simply believing that his time with you was endless. He knew it wasn't. He knew one day you two would pass. But that was supposed to be when you both were old and wrinkly, when you both had kids and grandkids, when both of you had enough stupid and disgustingly sweet stories to be able to make them gag at how he would still call you his most beautiful girl. This wasn't happening. He was going to make sure of it.
Tumblr media
He reached the destination a little too far away, cars already stopping traffic, people on the side, watching, and he felt agitated again. He decided to simply turn his steering wheel, half-hazardly parking his car almost in the bushes next to the road, before opening the door with his key and phone in hand, closing his car door way too harsh as he could hear something crack, but his legs were already making him run at the fastest pace he had ever before. His hair and clothes, the black zip hoodie he had thrown over his grey shirt were growing damp from the mild rain coming down, yet he didn't care. He had his hood up, before it slipped down, his hands pushing past people, the need to insult them for staring and taking pictures instead of actually helping strong inside his veins, yet he simply portrayed his distaste at his not so gentle shoving to get past them.
Somehow he had apparently arrived before police or the ambulance had, because there was no one there yet. "Y/N!" He yelled, his voice frantic and almost unrecognizable, even to his own ears. He could spot people laying around, some helping others, and some simply waiting for help as he searched for your figure among them. He saw some of your stuff, the travel bag you had, now wet and scratched, your backpack, thrown on the street and some small items he could recognize as yours such as the formerly white bunny jacket he had bought you before you went on this trip. "Y/N!" He yelled again, and got someones attention a bit off the side near the woodside next to the road. "Oh no-" He whispered under his breath when he could see the guy leaning a bit over you, your head on the ground below, soft socks a darker shade than usual from the moisture they had picked up by now. You were laying on your side, the young man pushing a flannel shirt against your hip. He ran straight towards you, reaching out to grab you, just to have the stranger grab his hands instead, pushing at his chest. "What the fuck-?!" He exclaimed, ready to burst.
"We don't know how serious her injuries are at the moment. If you move her you could make the damage worse." He said, serious. "It's better to leave her like this, and wait for the ambulance." He said, unable to make the younger ones angry and frustrated face calm down, but he listened anyways, knowing deep down that he was right. "Kim Namjoon by the way, Medical student- trust me, I know what I'm doing okay?" He refrained from telling the younger one that you would be okay, having sworn to himself when he started as a med student to never give out false hope. Jungkook nodded, tears finally falling as he swallowed hard, simply running his hand over your hair, trying to give you reassurance- or maybe he tried to reassure himself that you were still there. Maybe even both.
When the ambulance arrived, you slowly gained a little more consciousness again, hand grabbing at nothing. "..'Koo?" You said, unsure if he was really there or if the smell of his bodywash on the shirt you were making was playing tricks on you. He gasped, leaning down, his other hand running over your bare arm softly as to warm you up.
"I'm here, I'm here baby, you're okay." He said, this time saying these words to reassure himself purely. Namjoon noticed you shivering after Jungkook did, and he instantly took off his jacket, even though it was thin, simply to cover you up. Namjoon yelled for the ambulance to notice them, and both of the guys breathed a sigh of relief when they were running over towards you three.
However, now Jungkook had to face another fear, apart from still possibly loosing you. He hated hospitals. Not in the quirky kind of 'ugh I hate the smell of disinfectant' kind of way, the kind of 'I rather cast my broken wrist with duct tape and wooden icecream sticks just to not have to go near this place' kind of way. When he was asked if he would like to ride with you his terrified eyes looked at Namjoon, the answer he gave an unsure, yet clear nod. He had to be strong right now. You needed him right now, more than ever.
Inside the ambulance, he didn't let go of your hand. You had a hard time answering questions, so Jungkook had to step in now. He kept his eyes on your face, trying to blend out the equipment around you two to not get riled up. Someone had to be there a hundred percent. The nurse noticed pretty quickly, laying a hand on his shoulder to hopefully calm him down. "She's stable right now, okay? We'll wheel her in as soon as we reach the hospital, someone will ask you for her information since we couldn't find her ID or anything on the scene, alright?" He asked, and he nodded, clearing his throat before he resumed watching you breathe. He would've never guessed how happy he would feel just to see such a small thing from you.
A hot cup nudged his hands that were over his head, and he slowly looked up, surprised to see Taehyung of all people in front of him, his newly red hair in complete dissarray as well as his clothes. He looked like Jungkook felt if he was being honest. "Tae?" He asked, voice rough while taking the cup from his friend. His friend simply shrugged, before He sat down next to him, eyes red. "What-" He started, but Taehyung leaned back, speaking quitely, oddly calm, considering his usually loud personality.
"I-" He started, before he seemed to think a bit about how to phrase his next words. "Someone I know was on the same bus." He said. "I heard you talk to the nurse at the counter." He explained when Jungkooks brows furrowed in confusion. "They've managed to stabalize her, but she'll need surgery tonight." He said, and Jungkook wanted to ask who the person was- yet he refrained from doing so. Him and Taehyung were close, sure, but exactly that was what made him stay quiet about it. He knew when it was okay to ask, and when to just shut up. And right now, he simply nodded at him.
"So we're both gonna have a sleepover here?" He asked grimly, pathetically trying to lift the mood. Taehyung just nodded.

When you woke up, it wasn't like it was usually displayed in movies or cheesy novels. It wasn't a slow, gentle breeze from your window, or the way your boyfriend spoke next to you. No, it was actually absolutely silent, except the constant beeping next to you. You actually woke up way faster than you hoped for, your eyes opening like you've just got ripped out of a dream where you fall downstairs or something alike. You heard Jungkook groan sleepily, before he eventually moved his head a little, turning so you could see how exhausted he looked. His eyelashes looked damp, tiny hairs bound together into little groups as he sniffled, head on your hand, open palm holding his cheek as if he needed to feel you even in his dreams. The sight calmed you down.
The change of heartbeat and pulse made the machine next to you switch sounds, and soon you heard the door open, a friendly nurse walking in, smile on her face as her gaze found Jungkook still in the same position as hours before, unbeknownst to you. "How are you feeling, miss?" She softly said, quiet as to not wake the young man who had been switching between crying, watching, or sleeping next to you for the past days. You swallowed, mouth dry, and nodded towards the empty coffee cups next to you on the small bedside table. "I'll get you some water okay? Welcome back miss. I'll just check your vitals for a second." She said, and you nodded at that. Checking the machines and you, she walked out, leaving the door open so you could hear a bit of what was going on in the hallways. Footsteps and sometimes the tune of someones phone going off, random words you were too tired still to understand, and an elevator. Jungkook stirred next to you, opening his eyes after taking a deep breath, yawning before his eyes found yours.
It took him amusingly a couple of seconds before he shot up, immediately coughing from having inhaled his own saliva. You laughed at that, flinching a bit when it made your body ache, before taking him in. He looked horrible, hair a mess, eyes red and skin a bit pale, yet he smiled brighter than he did back when you bought him the new destiny 2 game for his playstation as a surprise. His eyes glistened, suddenly getting a sparkle to them before his lip started to quiver. He dropped his head on your shoulder, silently crying, but this time, he cried from relief. From happiness. From just how much he loved the world right now for giving him more time with you, for giving him a chance to be the embarrassing father and naggy grandpa he always wanted to be someday. Your arm bend and your hand ran through his hair, not minding the long unkempt locks one bit.
The nurse came back in, smiling brightly with a tall doctor in tow, who had a friendly face as well. "Good to have you back miss. How are we feeling?" He said, trying not to grin at Jungkook, who had yelled at the man several times when he'd tried to tell him to go home and rest. You were oblivious to this obviously. Jungkook raised his head a little, using his flannel sleeve to dry his tears, clearing his throat to at least try to look like he got his shit together.
"Uhm, I feel like I had to take my fitnessgram pacer test again, plus a bit more muscle pain in my hip?" You said, making the man chuckle.
"That's completely understandable considering you flew quite a distance miss. We were quite surprised that you were fine breathing on your own, considering everything. You're quite lucky; but we're gonna keep you under surveillance until friday. Your bodyguard can take you home after 12 whenever he likes." He said with a smirk in Jungkook's direction, the one spoken of growing a bit red on the tips of his ears. The doctor leaves after asking you general questions such as, if you knew the current year, your address, and your personal information such as your birthday.
The nurse left the cup of water and a straw on the small table. "I'll let you both catch up. Please make sure she drinks the whole cup, but only a couple of sips at a time alright?" She said to your boyfriend, who nodded, having calmed down a little by now. He moved, his hand a bit shaky as he ripped the top of the papercover of the straw off, before taking the plastic drinking help out of its minimalistic packaging. He put it inside the cup after bending it a bit, before he moved to you, helping you with outmost care to sit up a little. You winced a bit when you tried to move too fast, and Jungkooks face got a little more serious at this. You began to pout at him.
"What?" He said, voice still a bit rough from the lack of using- and the simultaneous shouting everytime he'd opened his mouth these days. He sighed. "Come on, you heard the nurse- you gotta drink." He said, but you stubbornly moved your head to the side, sideeying him. His brow raised in a questioning matter, before he noticed your posture. You had your arms in front of you in a hugging manner, and he suddenly realized how his behaviour must've looked for you. "I'm sorry princess I just.." He said, putting the cup down and running a hand through his hair. "I just.. I was so terrified when I saw you there-" He said, having to swallow hard again so he didn't end up crying again. God, what was it with him again? "Why didn't you call an ambulance? Why did you call me instead?" He asked, a bit of whine to it. You shrugged, deflating a bit in your position leaned up against the pillows.
"You were.. dunno, the first one I thought of." You explained. In Hindsight it had been a bit dumb, why did you call him as if he could magically appear in that second to make everything better, but somehow your brain made that story into a real possibility. "You always make everything better, and you know.. you always know what to do so.." You said, and Jungkook breathed out in a sight.
He leaned closer to you, tattooed hand brushing away some of your hair to place a kiss to your forehead. "Oh baby.." He simply said, resting his against your head for a second, before his thumb brushed over your cheek. "I'm driving you anywhere you need to be from now on." He said, and you nodded with a smile. "Alright. Now come on, drink something." he spoke before picking up the cup, helping you with the straw, taking it away from you after a couple of sips, making you whine. "I know doll, but we don't wanna overdo it alright?" He said. You looked at him with a smile, and he happily returned it.
Tumblr media
"Jungkook I can do that-" You said, before he silenced you with a look.
"I'm sorry, as cute as you look walking around like a newborn babydeer, I really like to keep you from falling down again, thank you very much." He said, accusingly pointing to the small bandage on your knee from having stumbled on your way into the kitchen yesterday. Your visible wounds were healing well, but you still had a bit of nerve damage from your nasty fall, which made your legs feel like they're constantly in a state between sleeping in and waking up, minus the pins and needles. They moved, yeah, you could feel them, yes, but it felt like they were wrapped in plastic and someone messed with the controls. Jungkook found it a bit adorable, but he rather not have you give him a shock again from almost hitting the kitchen tiles. Slowly, he came back with a glass of water, making you smile and thank him. He'd currently taken time off from work, having explained to his boss that he had to nurse you for a bit until you could be home by yourself. His boss had been pretty understanding, agreeing to him taking his vacation earlier and with short notice.
One thing you noticed however, was how careful Jungkook was around you. Now, that itself wasn't a bad thing, since right now you're a bit more fragile then usually so, but he was careful in a different way. Ever since you both left the hospital on friday, he stopped giving you goodnight kisses. He rarely hugged you, only ever if you initiated it, and he refused to be close to you during the night, making up excuses like 'I'm scared I'll roll you over during the night babygirl.' That was utter bullshit, because he'd never been worried about that in the past. He's a heavy sleeper and barely moves when he sleeps, so why would it be an issue now?
That was when the goddamn thoughts came back to you. Maybe he realized how close he'd gotten to you and didn't want that anymore? Maybe he wanted to go back to his old way of living, without any strings attached to anyone?
Tumblr media
That night, you decided to speak up. Jungkook and you were sitting on the bed, you criss crossed, and him with his back towards you, feet on the carpeted floor. "You can, uhm.. you know, drive me back to the hospital tomorrow so I can get checked back in." You quietly said. He instantly turned around, his phone no longer worth his attention as his brows furrowed.
"Why? Are you okay? Did the stitches open up again?" He said, a bit of panic making his words hurry on their way out of his mouth. You shook your head.
"No, but I don't wanna, you know. You don't like me saying I'm a burden so I won't say it, but yeah. I get it, you know? Its okay, really-" You said, head lowering until you stared your lap. You heard and felt him move, his hand softly on your back.
"What're you saying princess? Why the fuck would you think I don't want you anymore?" He knew your innuendos by now, and he didn't like that you implied a breakup in your sentence one bit. "Baby I'm gonna take care of you now and everyday you need me to, you know that." He said, confused.
You looked at his throat, unable to shift your gaze any higher up, in fear of what his eyes would tell you. "But, you know.. if we're good, why.. why 'm I not getting any kisses anymore? No hugs? No nothing? " You said, starting to pick at your fingers. Maybe you were just making it worse for him. Maybe he'd just tried to figure out how to tell you in a good way, and you just made it so much harder for him to do so. However, the hand on your back left, just so he could take your body into his arms. "I'ts okay, you know-" You started again, and he hushed you.
"None of that, please don't talk like that, please don't." He said, almost breathless as if he was scared to say the words out loud. "Getting told I could loose you for good was terrifying enough already, thank you very much." He said, a dry laugh escaping him, humor nowhere to be seen in it. Typically he would relish in the feeling of his broader and stronger frame compared to you, he would smile at the mere size difference of your hands or the way he could easily pick you up and carry you anywhere he wanted to. But right now it only reminded him how fragile you were, how careful he had to be not to hurt you. He felt helpless, and it was a feeling he decided he'd hate until he died. "I just- I'm scared I'll hurt you." He said, quietly, hoping that maybe you won't hear. But you did.
Holding his face in your hands you were reminded again just how inexperienced he was in this entire thing as well. You always thought he could lead the way without problems, that he knew everything and could teach you what you wanted to know. Yet maybe you both could learn from one another, more so than just you from him. "You won't." You said, and you stubbornly kissed him as he tried to protest, pecking his lips with a newfound courage you didn't knew you had until then. He tried again, just to get another kiss. This went on for a bit, until he deepened the gesture a bit, hand finding its way into your hair, before he pulled away.
"Don't rile me up baby." He groaned, running a hand through his hair. He hated how much you could get under his skin right now, covering his lower half under the blanket you both shared almost shamefully. You kissed him again, making him laugh, finally this time for real. "Stop, I'm serious. You're still healing, or did you forget?" He said, and you whined.
"But you can be gentle! My stitches are coming out on Monday anyways, I'll be fine!" You said, and he had to chuckle at you, his mind being torn from side to side. He didn't know if he could, but the way you trusted him made him wan't to at least try. With a little hesitance he dived in again, making you smile against his lips.
He made you lie down again, slowly, crawling over your form, unhurried, as if you both got all the time of the world. And you had, he knew you had. When you whined, he simply grinned at you. "No no Baby, let's just be close, okay?" He said, voice low and soft, making you melt underneath him. For the first time ever, as cheesy as it sounden, it wasn't about reaching your highs anymore for him. He was a believer that good sex had to finish with as much pleasure as possible for him, yet that had entirely began to shift when he'd met you. Suddenly things weren't about him anymore, suddenly he started to become less and less self-centered; but this time nothing mattered at all. It wasn't about reaching your goal and claiming your prize in form of an orgasm, it wasn't about pure pleasure and satisfaction. No, this time it was about feeling as close to you as he could, he needed to feel every inch of you simply to reassure himself that you were still here, real, and with him.
He reached for the first drawer of the bedside table, your kisses on his chest and biceps making his heart race. Slipping the condom on with your help, not because he needed it but because you wanted to, he made himself at home inside you, mind slowing down with every move he made, his thoughts and body being reminded that you were okay, you were fine, you were still here with him, you didn't leave. Maybe he should be scared of how dependend he'd become on you, how you had sneaked your way past all his walls and made yourself at home inside his soul. Maybe he should be afraid or worried how he couldn't escape you anymore, how he couldn't take a fast exit out of the situation you both had made. But right now, none of that mattered.
Your mind was fuzzy, no thought able to be caught properly, and you let yourself slip even further, giving your entire being into his posession. This was just about being close, and you felt protected and safe with him, his pace slow and unhurried, gentle, and his hands reaching for yours, intertwining your fingers in a soft gesture. It showed just how much he was actually hurting, how much the entire situation had affected him; this was so unlike him that it made you feel proud of yourself to be able to witness it at all. He was laying himself bare in every way for you, and you didn't dare threw salt on his exposed flesh.
He didn't notice if he or you had come at all, continuing to move, yet never picking up his pace. When he watched your blissful face underneath him, his eyes stung again, tears knocking at the back of them, and he gently placed his head on your shoulder, kissing every part of your skin he could reach there, gasping and breathing hard. Never in his wildest dreams he would've thought that this would be the situation he would found pleasure in, yet it happened in that moment, and god, he felt like he couldn't stop. He felt like he could torture himself like this forever if it meant he could show you how utterly terrified he had been of loosing you, how terrified he still was deep down, and how terrified he would always be. He needed you like oxygen at this point, and it scared him shitless, yet even that was something he accepted with open arms and a smile in exchange for your affection. He was whipped for you, deep down bound to you by iron shackles, but he would never ask for a change whatsoever.
The night ended with both of you exhausted yet happy, tangled together under wrinkled sheets and a blanket thrown over your forms.
Tumblr media
"I absolutely love you." You said, eyes wide and sparkling at the amount of junkfood your boyfriend carried inside the living room, coat still a bit wet from the rain outside. He brought a wave of cool and fresh air with him, making you shiver for a bit before your hand dived into the first paper bag, the crinkling sound ever so present. He laughed, throwing his coat over the side of the couch before he sat down next to you.
"You only love me for food, how tragic." He said, playfully sighing at it, watching you pout at him. "sorry baby, 'm joking." ruffling your hair he snatched a fry from the small bag you had in your hands, making you whine, but laugh at the same time.
Straightening your back you tried to look taller than him, making him chuckle. "I see this as a reward for not crying today!" You said proudly, and he smiled, nodding. You had gotten your final stitches removed, and even though it was still terrifying for both of you, Jungkook had finally faced his fear and came with you to your appointment, although he had still been heavily uncomfortable, rushing you both out as fast as possible. He was proud however, because even though you had every reason to, you didn't cry- simply squeezing his hand a bit, but nothing too much.
"I know, I know." He said, rummaging through the second large brown bag to fish himself a burger. "That's because you're the bravest girl ever-" He said, yelping when you snatched the food from him. "And also the most daring it seems, you gotta share baby!" He said playfully accusing, reaching for it just for you to hold it further away. "Good girls share, come on, I deserve a reward too you brat!" His hands reached for the item of his desire, making him raise his brows at you. Kissing your slightly greasy and salty lips, he laughed when you made a whiny sound at him. "Come on, this shit was expensive, let's eat."
Tumblr media
"I've never seen you cry so much."
"Shut up."
"It was cute though-"
"Oh I'm about to be really fucking cute, get over here young lady!"

would you ever write a drabble for the MEKA squad? Happy holidays!
Tfw you really want to give Overlord they/them pronouns (because nonbinary characters aren’t just robots, Blizzard!!) but the Wiki is he/him, so you’re like “Okay he’s he/they.”
...this originally started out as a one-off gag and then mutated into this. Have fun.
------
It had been a long day of being slumped behind desks while government officials bickered through translators for the Meka squad. They were in Russia for what was supposed to be a “Joint Defense” conference discussing the applications of sharing Meka and Volskaya technology to better defend against the Gwishin and the Siberian Omnium, but communication had quickly broken down. Russia, it turned out, didn’t take too well to Korea granting citizenship to Omnics with only a handful of the EU restrictions (”and not even the UK restrictions!” one politician had blustered.) The Meka squad itself had been scoffed off as “celebrities” and “mascots” and so the day was ending with D.Va, D.Mon, and Casino standing around the hotel lobby. D.Va was scrolling through her phone next to a roaring fireplace while D.Mon stooped over her shoulder,  and Casino leaning against the hotel bar, examining some vodka in a shot glass and ready to pretend it definitely tasted like something other than burning to impress the cute bartender. The three of them perked up at the sound of the lobby elevator dinging and Casino knocked back his drink and suppressed a wince as a blue-clad figure waddled out of the elevator and into the lobby.
“Woah,” D.Mon blinked a few times as she and D.Va walked over.
“What--woah,” said Casino, still blinking a few times through the vodka still burning the back of his throat.
“What?!” muffled the waddling shape in blue.
“Is...uh... that really you under there, Seung-hwa?” D.Va tilted her head, trying to hold in snickers.
“I have a low cold tolerance,” Overlord’s voice was muffled through their scarf. He was a veritable sausage of a long puffer jacket, and apparently heavily layered even under that by the way his arms were spread away from his torso, and clumsily thudding around in heavy boots. A fur-lined trapper hat virtually swallowed their head and nearly all of their face was covered by a scarf.
“You’re T-Posing,” said D.Va.
“I’m not T-posing!” muffled Overlord indignantly
“...I wanna try something,” said Casino, stepping forward.
“Don’t be mean,” said D.Mon, furrowing her brow.
“I’m not,” said Casino.
“What are you doi--” Overlord started but Casino put his hands on the outsides of Overlord’s arms and pressed down, trying to push Overlord’s arms to the sides of their torso. Casino pulled his hands away and Overlord’s arms sprang back to their previous spread position. Casino snorted.
“Ooh! Let me try!” said D.Va, quickly walking up and pressing Overlord’s arms down to their side as well and letting them spring back into place.
“Okay that’s enough--” said D.Mon.
“We should get some selfies in--!” said D.Va.
“Can we just get going?!” said Overlord.
“Can you walk?” said Casino, quirking an eyebrow.
“Yes I can walk,” said Overlord.
-----
“Waddled” was a closer word for it.
“...are they still behind us?” said D.Va as she, D.Mon and Casino walked down the sidewalk.
Casino gave a glance back to Overlord practically duckwalking, their arms bouncing slightly at their sides since it apparently took physical effort to move them from their positions in a normal walking manner.
“He’s still behind us,” said Casino, smirking slightly, “Kind of reminds you of those penguin documentaries, March of the Mek--” He got elbowed by D.Mon.
Admittedly as they walked through the streets, all three of them had flashes of jealousy towards Overlord for being so bundled up. Russia had a cold that sank deep past the skin and made them starkly aware of every injury they had ever received in the Meka program, feeling old fissures in bones. It was past Christmas but not yet New Year’s, and lights and decorations still hung on some buildings. The city was a hodgepodge between stately old pre-crisis buildings, more modern skyscrapers, and several massive industrial-looking defense bases armed with massive long-range anti-aircraft turrets. The massive Svyatogors stood sentry at the city’s borders, surveying the city and beyond it with a sort of lumbering casualness that made you believe they were simply fully living giants rather than piloted mechs. D.Va watched as one turned its head slowly.
“...kind of glad the deal fell through,” muttered Casino, following her line of sight, “Can you imagine those ugly things in Busan? Gross.”
“...I could see myself piloting one,” said D.Mon.
“You would,” said Casino.
It wasn’t too long of a walk from their hotel to the park, and King was waiting for them at the wrought iron gate marking its entrance. He was scrolling through his phone while backlit by the blue, white, green, and pink lights being diffracted through the massive ice sculptures dotting the park behind him. The park was noticeably more crowded than the streets, a mix of locals on dates and tourists admiring the ice sculptures.
“What took you guys--” King started but then glanced at Overlord plodding along behind them, “Nice coat.”
“Thanks,” muffled Overlord.
Despite the crowds, the Meka squad’s walk through the park was quiet, pausing to look at different ice sculptures, getting hot smoky tea with a hint of orange peel from a little kiosk. Aside from Casino, who was only wearing earmuffs over his sleeked-back white hair, the five of them pretty much blended into the crowd. The subject matter of the ice sculptures ranged from whimsical and natural forms such as narwhals and giant flowers with real petals and blossoms suspended frozen inside them, to more technically impressive architectural forms of famous buildings from around the world and reproductions of classical sculptures, to a large collection of propagandistic figures of Svyatogors, fresco reproductions of posters, and Omnic crisis heroes. D.Va paused to see a line had formed next to an ice sculpture of a heroically flexing Aleksandra Zaryanova, glowing in pink, with tourists and locals alike eagerly posing and flexing next to it.
“...maybe you’d get a statue if the deal hadn’t fallen through,” D.Mon spoke next to her.
D.Va huffed. “I don’t know if that’s what I want people to remember me for,” she said quietly.
“Mm, yeah saving the city multiple times is nothing compared to the rush of gaming tournaments,” D.Mon said teasingly.
“...gaming tournaments mean everyone’s safe,” said D.Va and the teasing expression on D.Mon’s face was wiped away. Wordlessly, D.Mon slipped her arm through the crook of D.Va’s elbow and pulled her close.
“I know they’re wrong, here,” D.Va went on, “I know the omnics who live in Busan aren’t like the Gwishin--they aren’t the same---but what if the Gwishin finds a way to control them, somehow? There was that incident in Giza...” she shook her head, “But then I feel like a big jerk for thinking that! Like that’s not fair!”
D.Mon just leaned her cheek on the top of D.Va’s head. “I wish I could say there’s an easy answer for it. Most of the time I just worry about flying and keeping the team alive and let everyone else sort that junk out.”
“...we saw how they sort it out,” muttered D.Va, “They don’t. One side wants to put them all in a trash compacter and the other side wants to treat them like people so it all gets broken down country by country, but no matter what we’re all scared. And--I remember being a kid--and my dad taking me down to the basement when the air sirens went off, and giving me his old Fujita-Via with his pirated Starcraft port, and his noise canceling headphones that were too big for me, but I could still feel the house shaking--”
“Hana--” D.Mon squeezed her arm slightly.
But if I kept playing... it felt further away,” said D.Va, “Playing used to make it feel further away.”
“...and now we play to keep them away,” said D.Mon, quietly, “...you’re not alone, you know,” she added.
“I know I’m not--” D.Va started.
“But you’re not the only one who’s gone through stuff like that--that’s literally why we’re all here,” said D.Mon.
D.Va blinked a few times.
“I’ve been talking to Dae-hyun,” said D.Mon and D.Va gave an exasperated huff, but D.Mon pushed further, “He’s worried, too. That night when you overclocked your reactor---”
“I had it handled!” D.Va said quickly, before catching herself, “We--we had it handled. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without--”
“Without Dae-hyun,” said D.Mon, “And I know it’s different with him, there’s no stupid pro-gamer egos, he’s not in the field like we are---But... is it that unfair of me to ask you to trust us like you trust him?”
D.Va glanced down.
D.Mon pressed her lips against D.Va’s snowflake-flecked hair, more of a nuzzle than a kiss, before gently pulling her along to the next ice sculpture. “At least hang out with us more. We have pit crews, you don’t have to keep pulling late nights tweaking Tokki.”
“Yeah, but I’m--”
“Picky,” D.Mon smiled, smoothing snowflakes away from D.Va’s hair with a smirk, “I know.”
D.Va sighed and leaned against D.Mon, “...I’ll try,” she said, quietly, then thought for a second, “I’ll make it a New Year’s resolution! Hang out with you guys more! Get away from the garage...”
They were making their way to an art nouveau-looking sculpture of a woman holding a pouring out swirling water when their comms buzzed. D.mon pulled her comm from her pocket.
“Guys, we need to regroup,” Casino said on the other end.
“What’s going on?” said D.Mon, “Call from headquarters or--?”
“Casino lost Overlord and we accidentally kidnapped a small Russian lesbian,” King’s voice sounded flatly on the other line.
“You lost Overlord too!” Casino argued.
“What--” D.Mon stammered, “How did you--”
“Just meet us back at the narwhal,” said Casino, before clicking out of the call.
D.Va and D.Mon exchanged glances.
“We don’t have to--” D.Mon started.
“Yes we do,” said D.Va, squeezing D.Mon’s arm and dragging her through the crowd. The narwhal sculpture was back towards the front of the park, and the crowds made it slow going, but they were able to find Casino, King, and what looked like Overlord’s heavily-layered t-posing figure next to them.
“What do you mean you lost Overlord?” said D.Mon, “They’re right--”
The figure, with some effort given the thick layers of their clothes, took off their trapper hat to shake off a shaggy asymmetrical bob and pulled down their scarf to reveal a convex nose.
“Not Overlord,” said D.Va.
The girl with the shaggy bob said something in Russian and pointed at Casino.
“We got into a really dense crowd back at the svyatogor sculpture,” said King, “My audio translator app says she thought Casino was her girlfriend from behind.”
“It’s mistranslating ‘girlfriend,’” said Casino, flatly.
“It’s really not,” said King.
“...which means Overlord must be following someone he thought was Casino!” said D.Va.
“Stunning powers of deduction,” said King, adjusting his glasses.
“Well, where was the last place you saw your girlfriend before?” said Casino, looking at the girl.
King rapidly tapped something into his phone. “G’dyeh te pahsled--” he started reading before going, “Fuck it--” and hit a button on his comm. The phone fired off a phrase in Russian and the girl shrugged. She paused, then said something questioning in Russian and pointed at D.Va.
“Can you say that again?” said King holding his phone up to her.
The girl repeated her question more slowly and the phone translated the phrase, “Is that D.Va, from the holos?”
“...uh...” D.Mon seemed hesitant to reveal their identities after such comfortable anonymity but D.Va cut in.
“Yes, I’m D.Va, do you know where our friend is?” she said, and the phone translated for her.
The girl almost squealed but managed to control herself and cleared her throat. “Big fan,” she managed in thickly accented english, gesturing at herself.
“Look just text Overlord and we’ll get this mess cleared up,” said D.Mon, looking at King.
“We’ve been texting them. No answer. I don’t think they can feel the comm buzzing through that coat,” said Casino.
“Look, I’m sure he’s already figured it out and is on his way back to us,” said D.Mon, “Overlord pilots the most complex mech out of all of us, he can control the movements of 27 airborne mini-drones simultaneously, I’m pretty sure he would notice pretty quickly if he was following some Russian chick and not Casino.”
All of their phones buzzed at once and they flipped them open to see their groupchat.
0verl0rd: HELP.
0verl0rd: ON A TRAIN.
0verl0rd: RUSSIAN LADY WASN’T CASINO.
0verl0rd: DON’T KNOW WHERE I’M GOING.
DeeVaaaaaa: WHY ARE YOU ON A TRAIN!?
K1ng_Soo: Literally when did we say we would get on a train.
0verl0rd: I DON’T KNOW I WAS JUST ROLLING WITH IT.
0verl0rd: NOT CASINO LADY IS YELLING AT ME IN RUSSIAN NOW.
Casi_no: How did you not notice they were speaking Russian before?
0verl0rd: THIS HAT IS REALLY THICK AND IT WAS HARD ENOUGH KEEPING UP.
Yuna-Mon: Okay just stay calm and stay where you are.
Overlord: AGAIN I’M ON A TRAIN.
The Meka squad glanced up from the group chat and looked at Overlord’s thick-coat look-alike, whose phone suddenly buzzed. Through the thickness of her own coat it took her some effort to pull it out and answer it. They watched as she argued in Russian for several minutes, then turned to talking very quickly in Russian for another, minute, then laughing, then she gave a glance to the Meka squad, cupped a mittened hand over her mouth and spoke into the phone a bit more quietly and excitedly, before apparently reaching a satisfying conclusion, peppering in what sounded like a dozen pet names, and then ended the call. She gestured at King to hold his phone up to her and spoke Russian into his translator app.
“My Nadenka and your friend are heading to Vasily’s--our usual spot in Dumskaya,” the translator app’s automated voice made her easy tone sound much more halting, “You can pick him up there. Maybe grab drinks, yes? Big Meka fans! We love D.Va!”
King was apparently feverishly web-searching Dumskaya but D.Va said, “Great! Lead the way!”
The girl patted her mitten against her thick coat, “Uliana,” she said,
“...Hana,” said D.Va.
The girl made another high-pitched sound but caught herself, cleared her throat, and managed to get control of herself again. “Come on!” she said, waving them across the park. D.Va and Casino followed, but King and D.Mon hung back, slightly.
“Sounds like a recipe to wake up in a bathtub full of ice,” muttered King under his breath.
“I’m sure they don’t need ice with all this snow,” said D.Mon with a slight smirk. “It’s going to be fine.”
“And if it’s not?”
“Well I guess there will be a messy international incident concerning the ransoming and eventual brutal murders of Korea’s primary anti-Gwishin defense force, is that the conclusion you want me to jump to?” said D.Mon.
King opened his mouth, then furrowed his brow and readjusted his glasses.
“We grab Overlord and get out,” he said firmly.
“Mm-hmm,” D.Mon nodded her head.
-----
Vasily’s was a dive bar but it wasn’t a dive bar. It was warmly lit, had a handful of floral-patterned Slavic tchotchkes, some granny-chic doilies that suggested the place served lunch and tea, and a long garland of fake pine dotted with pink ornaments trailing along the wall. There was definitely a lived-in feeling to the place, but it was offset by an almost persnickety cleanliness. As King pushed the door open, he readjusted his glasses, finding the bar brighter than expected. It was virtually empty, but Overlord was sitting at the bar, having shed his thick coat with the trapper hat in his lap. He was apparently gesturing with several overturned shot glasses on the bar counter and talking to... Casino?
King gave a quick glance to Casino, who was still standing next to him, then glance back at Overlord and his bleach-blonde companion and snorted as she turned her head.
“She does look like you from behind,” he said to Casino.
“Shut up,” said Casino.
“Nadenka!” Uliana called out and then excitedly pointed at D.Va before unzipping her own thick puffer coat and hurrying over for a pecking cheek kiss from Nadenka.
“Sorry for mix-up, Meka Squad,” Nadenka looked over at the four of them.
“You speak english?” said King.
Nadenka made an ‘eeehhhh’ gesture with her hand, “Not very good,” she said with a shrug, and then elbowed Uliana, “Better than this one, though. She didn’t tell you?”
“Ah!” Uliana scoffed, “Hey!” She admonished her in Russian but Nadenka just gave her a smug smirk.
“I was telling her about that amphibious gwishin mech back in the fall, remember that?” Overlord swung around on their barstool, eyes bright, “The crawler?”
“Yes, we all remember the crawler,” King said quickly, “Now, we should get back to the hotel, before you wander off after another random woman who looks like Casino from behind--”
“But I’m not finished yet!” said Overlord.
“Is true,” said Nadenka, “I want to hear rest of story. I think little blue guy should be D.Va, yeah?”
Uliana gasped as if her girlfriend had just spoken blasphemy, but Overlord just beamed smugly and D.Va snickered a little.
“...we can stay for the story,” said D.Mon.
“What?” said King, “But--”
“And shots,” said Casino.
“Shots!?” King repeated.
“They got snacks, here?” said D.Va, “Kind of want something salty.”
“Hana--!” King was pressing his fingertips to his forehead but Uliana was already flagging down the exhausted looking bald bartender and feverishly talking to him in Russian. D.Va was able to make out the words ‘D.Va’ and ‘Meka Squad’ in her rapid rant. Within seconds shot glasses and little doily-skirted opened mason jars of pickles were being set out on the bar. “...this isn’t happening,” muttered King, but D.Mon just bumped her shoulder into him.
“Come on,” she said, “Think of it as... ‘regional immersive research for the Meka program’s future collaborative efforts.’“
“...I’m writing all of you up to our CO,” said King flatly before Casino held out a filled shot glass to him and he sullenly took it.
“Is this that glitz and glamour you guys are always heading off to?” said D.Va, pushing herself up onto a barstool.
“It might be,” said D.Mon grinning and taking a barstool next to her, “If you came with us more often.”
“New year’s resolution,” said D.Va, crunching one of the bar pickles.

i’ll be safe in your sound- anna x katherine
(kinda loosely) based off of this wonderful post by @you-need-a-jello-shot. thanks again for letting me use the idea!
note: this 100% ended up turning into an anna x kat fic but after what genesis put on her story earlier, am i really to blame? to the user who said they’d like to see more of these two, here you go! expect more bc writing this made me fall in love with this ship
(also to the people who asked for the parrlyn fic, its almost finished)
summary: anna and katherine are very cute & very in love. pure fluff
words: 1306
warnings: very brief hint to past sexual assault
Anna’s eyes drifted open lazily, only to be met with the beautiful sight of Katherine. She was sitting up against the headboard, sleepy eyes trained on the landscape-turned phone in her hands. A headphone wire could be seen running from where it was connected into the phone. It rested on her girlfriend’s chest before running up her neck and to her ear. Anna realised with a dopey grin and an amused exhalation that Katherine had only put one earphone in, leaving the ear closest to Anna free. Her suspicions of why this had been done were confirmed when the woman turned to face her immediately at the noise. She gave Anna a breath-taking little smile.
“Morning,” Kat whispered, her voice husky with sleep. It gave Anna butterflies to see Kat like this- long, chestnut and pink-tipped hair messy and free, cascading down her shoulders and staining Anna’s white sheets that delightful colour; her eyes lidded and sweet. Everything about Kat always seemed soft, but something about feeling the warmth she shared under the covers and seeing her in the muted light made her outright heavenly. Whatever she was watching was completely disregarded, the phone now resting on her lap. Anna felt that dopey grin worsen.
“Morning.” She leaned up slightly and Katherine tipped her head down to give her a gentle kiss. They pulled apart slowly. Anna felt something too powerful for such an early morning expand in her chest when she looked at Kat’s brown eyes, so she turned her gaze to her hair, snaking an arm out from under the duvet to hold a lock of it. Katherine gave her an amused look at the near reverence in Anna’s eyes at it.
“What?” Anna looked up at her voice.
“You’re pretty,” Anna said simply. Kat felt a blush spread in her cheeks and she, too, averted her eyes from the brilliance that was her girlfriend. She looked at the dark hand that held her hair, remembering faintly a dozen similar scenes from a different life. The hand she watched now had skin as soft and pure and safe as its movements; it wasn’t muscular, or calloused from instrument strings or stained with ink. It was a hand of giving and holding, not of stealing and possessing. She smiled down at it, lifting the hand to press a kiss to its knuckles. She looked back up at the other woman and found eyes that seemed to know exactly what Kat was thinking. They always did.
“You’re pretty, too,” was Katherine’s bashful little reply. It felt quite pathetic, and not nearly adequate enough to describe Anna, yet a smile spread across her face anyway. The hand was still held up to her face and she looked to be almost trying to hide behind it. Anna’s smile turned into a playful grin, and she pulled her hand away to place it on the bed on the other side of Katherine. She pushed herself up into a half-sitting position, leaning partly over her girlfriend so she could have their faces close. She was ever watchful of the brunette’s body language and reactions, but found only amusement dancing in her eyes.
She hooked a leg over Anna’s waist suddenly, and flipped them so that Katherine was hovering over the other in one swift movement, her victim letting out a yelp. She captured Anna in a slightly less-than-innocent kiss, silencing her, but pulled away after a second, leaving Anna’s head still reaching for her. She let her head fall back to the bed dramatically, pouting up at her. Katherine let out a breathless sort of giggle.
“Your breath smells too bad to do that right now,” she whispered it like she was in a pantomime, playing along with Anna’s dramatic reactions. Anna gave a gasp, trying to look indignant, but she knew it failed when she felt her mouth curving into a smile anyway and saw Katherine’s eyes go incredibly brighter.
“Your breath doesn’t smell incredible, either,” it came out as a laugh, the theatricality forgotten. Kat giggled as well, and rolled off of Anna to lie on her back. She stretched her hand out, feeling for Anna’s, and laced them together wordlessly. They lapsed into a comfortable silence, listening to each other’s breaths and the muffled sounds of their housemates moving around.
“Anna?”
She received a hum.
“I really want a cookie.”
Anna laughed again, soft as the pillow beneath her head.
“Come on, then,” she said. Kat tackling her had tangled them in the sheets, so when Anna tried to stand on the half-covered leg she swung onto the floor, she ended up only yanking Kat across the bed and almost falling onto the ground herself.
Kat let out a peal of laughter, a musical sound that Anna didn’t think she’d ever tire of hearing. Anna turned around to face the bed, chortling even harder than she had been when she saw half the duvet had been pulled off the bed in her trip. Kat’s legs remained on her original side, though her torso and arm (that was still connected to Anna) were on Anna’s side. She was tangled, too.
They unlinked hands- Cleves to unwrap the sheet winding around her leg and Kat to get out of the mess she was in. Kat had somehow freed herself before Cleves, so when she looked up to check Kat’s progress, she instead saw her opening the curtains. Her back was to Anna, and she was wearing one of her shirts- a red and black flannel that stopped just at her mid-thigh. That same powerful, consuming feeling fluttered in Anna’s chest at the sight. She looked away before Kat turned back to her.
“Anna? You go down before me, I need to find my phone.” She was currently attempting to lift up the duvet and shake it in her search. Anna was going to argue that she should stay and help, but decided to get Kat’s cookies and tea started before she got down there. She gave a temporary farewell.
She found all the girls already in the kitchen. Anne was standing next to Cathy at the table and eating cereal. Her back was turned to her but she could tell from the glare Aragon was currently shooting at her from where she stood next to the toaster that she was dropping it everywhere. Cathy was reading a newspaper, and Jane sat across her, nursing a steaming cup of tea.
Jane smiled when Anna walked in, greeting her with a “morning, love”. Anna replied to her as she moved through the kitchen, walking toward Aragon and her ever-hardening stare at Anne when she heard the girl warble her own greeting with a mouthful of coco pops. Aragon paused from this one-sided glaring contest to inform Anna of the general plan for today.
Anna listened half-heartedly, rifling through a cupboard to find Katherine’s cookies. She turned around in time, packet of the biscuits in hand, to see Katherine walking into the room. She was so distracted by her that she hardly saw the doubletake Jane took at the woman. Anne (who looked comical with a spoon hanging from her mouth, abandoned in shock) tapped Cathy’s head and all three of their heads followed Katherine’s trek. She heard Aragon choke slightly on her water from beside her.
Anna realised what they were shocked at with a broad smile. She handed Katherine a cookie when the woman neared her, and in return got a very confused look from.
Kat stood there, eating her cookie, with everyone still staring at her.
“What?” She asked, slightly defensively.
Her cousin pulled the spoon from her mouth.
“Your hair’s down.”
Katherine raised her cookie-free hand up to feel, as if she didn’t already know. And, of course, Anne was right.
“Oh.”
“Your hair is never down.”
“Oh.”

The Talk (Mona x MC)
As part of RoD appreciation week, I’m posting this fic now, although it was almost done at least a month ago. It’s slightly AU, set a few years after the main events, Mona and MC are no longer on the run. I just want to see them have a regular life… sigh. Anyway, no warnings except for language and some implications.
Cutsey chubby baby cheeks, and little baby feet moving aimlessly in all directions, and that little button of a nose… ohmygod, the baby was smiling at her, a bit of saliva running down his chin and just… ugh, Ellie’s heart was melting on that interesting verge between tenderness and aggression. She stuck out her tongue at the baby and he looked at her with curiosity, then giggled the way only babies did and wiggled in his stroller, reaching his little hands for her.
His father didn’t bother much, just glanced over at Ellie a few times as if to make sure she wasn’t thinking of kidnapping his offspring, what with the way she was staring with this wide maniacal grin. Here they were, the three of them waiting outside a baby store on a warm Saturday evening with the sun still fighting for a spot in the sky. The dad was looking at his phone rather absorbed by whatever it was he was reading, the baby was fascinated with Ellie, and Ellie… she was this close to throwing away all rules of propriety and snuggling up the little bundle without so much as asking for permission first.
Then she noticed in the corner of her eye Mona stepping out of the store, shopping bag hanging on her arm as she was putting away her purse. Ellie immediately turned away from the baby, startled, God forbid Mona got the wrong idea about this whole thing and decided Ellie might actually…
“All fixed”, Mona announced, looking up at Ellie, her face that of a person who just had someone else deal with an annoying issue. “We even got a discount to make up for the mix-up.”
“Oh”, Ellie acknowledged simply and leaned in to look at the bag. “Too bad they didn’t have the one with the bees pattern for one-year-olds. But this one is cute too.”
“It’s adorable, are you kidding, look at the little mice, I mean, c’mon…”, Mona’s face lit up for a moment, her grin so sincere, mellowing down all the hard edges. Ellie gazed at her adoringly before leaning in for a quick peck on the cheek.
“Let’s go, we’re late enough as it is,'' she urged her gently and walked a few strides ahead.
Mona just now noticed the baby. She gave the little munchkin a smile, noticing how he smiled right back, his puff baby mouth twisting in that amusing way. Mona made a funny face at him, then turned away, catching up to Ellie.
They hadn’t seen Riya and Kevin in quite a while. They missed Trina’s first birthday because their flight got delayed, leaving them stuck at the airport on the way back from New York, and then also ended up missing Kevin’s 30th birthday a few weeks later when Ellie’s father got hospitalised. Things turned out fine but Ellie was scared senseless for a few long hours before they got to him and the doctors reassured them it was a minor injury on the job.
And now that Riya and Kevin had invited them over for dinner just to catch up, they were making up for the birthday parties missed by getting Trina and Kevin some overdue gifts, as well as a little toy giraffe for Sam, who was going to throw a tantrum if his little sister got something and he didn’t.
Riya and Kevin’s apartment building was just around the next corner and for once they made it barely 15 minutes late. As they entered the 10th floor apartment, however, a huge baby bump greeted them, followed by Riya’s wide grin and the satisfaction on her face as she saw how surprised they both were.
“Oh my God, Riya…!”
“I’m not that far along, it literally happened overnight, I swear.”
They exchanged a few more words over taking off jackets and making their way into the apartment, a curious toddler swiveling around their legs all the while making incomprehensible little noises.
Kevin greeted them in the dining room, opening a bottle of red wine. He made his way to each of them for a quick kiss on the cheek. “So it’s no surprise any longer,'' he said between greetings.
“Oh, I had a hard enough time keeping it secret”, Riya protested, giving him a cheeky smile.
They all sat around the table, little Sam climbing up ‘auntie Mona’s leg to sit in her lab, the stuffed giraffe already in his clumsy grip. As she was playing with him - a striking contrast between his baby talk and her slang - Ellie was talking to Riya, sparsely casting glances their way, noting how good Mona was at this. She wasn’t surprised, frankly, she had seen Mona interact with Kevin and Riya’s kids before. But something today made her feel that extra pull in her heart at the sight of Mona holding little Sam and she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
“So, obvi, we’ll have to skip that but I’d say it’s worth it”, Riya explained about their vacation plans.
“Oh, no, totally”, Ellie agreed, shaking her head. “We get it, we don’t want your waters breaking on the beach”, she laughed light-heartedly, reaching for her wine glass. “Besides, we’ll have the whole house to ourselves, right, babe?”
“Hm?”, Mona turned her head in her direction, Sam having captured her attention completely.
“I said we’ll have the beach house all to ourselves”, Ellie repeated, nodding her head toward Riya.
“Ah, yeah, sure, don’t worry ‘bout it”, Mona brushed it off before being suddenly smacked with the stuffed toy across the face, Sam openly demanding for her attention. “Hey, man, what the heck, thought we were buddies!”, Mona protested, much to his delight.
…
Late night conversations in Mona’s car was their thing. Sometimes they would go for a drive with no particular destination, leaving LA behind, Mona joking about never returning… but always making their way back to their apartment. They would talk for hours, having spent the day apart, and in those nameless moments Ellie could feel herself on the other side of Mona’s walls, safe in the little fortress instead of banging on the door as she had done so many times before.
On their way back from Riya’s they were both silent for most of the way. Ellie was pleasantly sedated by the one too many glasses of wine she’d had at dinner, her forehead rested on the window, the city lights blurring in her vision. Mona seemed to be somewhere else too, not in that detached, self-guarded way Ellie was well familiar with, but still, she was certainly in her head, only driving by instinct.
“So, should we…”, Mona broke the silence somewhat tentatively, Ellie’s head languidly turning in her direction.
“Should we…?”
“Yeah, I mean”, Mona’s gaze was on the road as she switched lanes, her focus divided. “Have one of those.”
It took Ellie forever to figure out what her wife meant by that. She knew her well enough to have an educated guess but she was confused by the wording and besides, surely Mona didn’t mean to suggest… or did she? Mona cast a quick glance her way when Ellie delayed her response, brows furrowed in concern.
“You want to have kids?”, Ellie asked for clarification, her eyes searching Mona’s face for a clue. She seemed dead-serious about it, whatever it was.
“Don’t you?”, Mona turned the question on her.
“Well, do you?”, Ellie arched an eyebrow, surprise coloring her face. Never had she imagined that Mona of all people would want to have the white picket fence life. Though, they were nowhere near that, their whole marriage so far as unconventional as they came, starting with the elopement in Vegas on the run…
“I actually want to.”, Mona raised her voice as if arguing against a previous version of herself, a bit surprised at her own answer.
“I do too…”, Ellie admitted softly, taking her gaze off Mona’s face to stare absently at the cars ahead.
“Since when?”, Mona gave her a quick glance, already anticipating the answer.
“Since always.”
“Can’t say the same for myself…”, a hoarse puff escaped her throat as she smirked.
“Since when do you want to have kids?”, Ellie inquired looking at her wife as if seeing her for the first time.
“Well, the idea kinda grew on me around Riya’s second.”
“And you’ve been thinking about it since?”, Ellie continued her little investigation, skepticism muffling her joy, making her cautious.
“Been considering it, yes…”, Mona glanced at her again, eyes widening at the look on Ellie’s face. “Don’t be so shocked, gorgeous, I have my moments.”
“You have more than moments”, Ellie quipped softly, her eyes sparkling with mischief, teasing Mona for her unexpected domesticity, her capacity for warmth and quiet marital contentment Ellie never thought she’d get to experience with her.
The muted sound of chatter and laughter filled the lazy morning silence as the sun drenched every surface of their bedroom in soft peach hues, its rays illuminating the millions of tiny dust specks in the air. Mona always watched those talk shows with no headphones and Ellie would chuckle beside her as a particular line briefly caught her attention, never taking her eyes off the screen of her own phone, sometimes making Mona mentally guess whether it was the host or a meme on Pictagram extracting that laughter.
But Ellie was unusually quiet today, not really paying attention to whatever it was she was looking at on her phone, neither really hearing the host’s witty remarks about the president’s latest diplomatic visit. She slightly leaned forward to reach for her cup of coffee on the tray between them on the bed, then had a small sip and hummed at the bitter taste she loved.
“It’s strong”, she remarked, pleased, not particularly addressing her wife but with the unspoken recognition that it was Mona who made coffee and breakfast this time.
“I was thinking about what you said last night,'' Ellie added after a few moments passed as the audience erupted into laughter.
“Hm?”, Mona didn’t even chuckle but neither did she take her eyes off the screen. “Oh, that? Don’t worry, babe, I don’t think he’ll really run for president again, I just meant if he did…”
“No, it’s not that… about having kids.”
The noise suddenly stopped as Mona hit pause. She looked at Ellie who was still holding the cup underneath her chin.
“Yeah?”
“Well… how do we go about it?”, Ellie asked meeting her gaze, her deep brown eyes holding another question.
“How do you wanna go about it?” Mona was unexpectedly solemn, the gravity of her resolve making Ellie now feel how real it all was.
“I was thinking… maybe I could get pregnant? Or you could! Or maybe… I could do it now and you do it the second time around?”
“The second time around?”, Mona arched her eyebrows, a mix of surprise and amusement lighting up her face. “What if we have the little fucker and decide we’re done with parenthood?”
“Babe, once we have ‘the little fucker’ we can never be done with parenthood. Ever.”, Ellie explained gently, tilting her head.
“I mean, I know, just… Let’s take it one baby at a time, okay?”, Mona chuckled, tracing Elie’s cheekbone with the back of her index finger. Elie closed her eyes, relaxing into her touch for a brief second. “Never wanted to be pregnant”, Mona continued, her eyes still glued to her wife’s face, her adoration now out in the open. “But I think I’d love to see you…”, she swallowed and lowered her hand, emotion suddenly too overwhelming.
Elie’s gaze softened as she leaned to plant a tender kiss on the corner of her mouth. Mona pulled back. She looked at her wife with that familiar mischief in her eyes, then she took the breakfast tray that was still between them and carefully placed it on the floor on her side of the bed. With that obstacle out of the way, Mona grabbed Elie’s waist in her arms and pulled her under the duvet, covering her neck with butterfly kisses.
“What, are we starting now?”, Ellie managed, laughter interrupting her sentence, as Mona’s kisses tickled and teased.
“Ha, yeah, I wish it worked like that.”
“Mmm… if it did, last night should’ve done the trick.”, Elie giggle, her voice breaking into a gasp as Mona gently bit below her jaw.

OK, Google: Pixel Buds 2 are the real deal
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/ok-google-pixel-buds-2-are-the-real-deal/
OK, Google: Pixel Buds 2 are the real deal
Tumblr media
When Google unveiled its new true wireless Pixel Buds 2 ($179) last October, they seemed like a big upgrade over the original models. The Pixel Buds, which debuted in 2017, had a cord between them and earned decidedly mixed reviews thanks to their loopy Mentos-esque design and middling sound. But at the 2019 launch event for the new Buds, the prototype models weren’t working, so I was left wondering how they sounded and performed.
Like
Improved fit with stabilizing fin
Hands-free Assistant and Translate feature
Very good sound for true wireless
Excellent call quality
Nice charging case with wireless and USB-C charging
IPX4 sweat-resistant (splashproof)
Don’t Like
No active noise-canceling or transparency
Battery life isn’t stellar at 5 hours
Not quite as comfortable as some rivals
Extra features don’t work with iOS devices
Several months on, I’ve gotten my hands on a pair and can solve the mystery: They sound quite good, perform well and are worthy contenders in the premium true wireless earbuds arena, particularly for Android users.
The Pixel Buds will come in four color options, but at launch, only white will be available.
David Carnoy/CNET
Yes, the wearable Mentos look has returned, but I like the way the stabilizing fin — Google calls it an “arc” — has been integrated into the design. With a little clockwise turn the buds (5.3 grams or 0.19 ounces each) twist securely in place, barely sticking out from my ears. While the original Pixel Buds had an open design like the standard AirPods, these have a noise-isolating design, which means the ear tips get jammed into your ears, sealing them off to the outside world. (It’s important to get a tight seal to maximize sound quality.)
You do get decent passive noise muffling but these don’t offer active noise-canceling like the AirPods Pro, Sony WF-1000XM3, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 and an increasing number of true wireless earbuds. Some of the Pixel Buds’ closest competitors would be the Galaxy Buds Plus ($150) and the Jabra Elite 75t ($180). I did find those two models slightly more comfortable to wear over longer listening sessions and how you ultimately feel about the fit will depend on the shape of your ear. But the new Pixel Buds should fit most ears well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mentos-shaped buds don’t stick out from your ears too far.
David Carnoy/CNET
Aside from their improved design and fit over the original Pixel Buds, a few things stand out. First, the 56.1-gram wireless charging case (with USB-C charging port) is really nice. It’s compact, feels solid in your hand and has a smooth matte finish. I liked it better than the AirPods’ case and it feels more premium than Galaxy Buds Plus’ case. Also, the buds are easy to get in and out of it, adhering magnetically to their charging contacts.
These are also the first Google Assistant “hotword-enabled” earbuds. If you have an Android device running Android 6.0 or better, you can simply say, “Hey, Google,” or, “OK, Google,” and Google Assistant is ready to respond to your voice commands. The AirPods and Beats Powerbeats Pro have always-on, hands-free Siri and Amazon’s Echo Buds have the same feature for Alexa.
With new audio systems-on-a-chip from Qualcomm, hands-free access to virtual assistants will come to more true wireless earbuds later this year, but for now it’s pretty unusual. It worked quite well with the Google Pixel 4 XL I was using for this review, with Google Assistant responding quickly to my voice commands. (You can also access Assistant by tapping and holding the right or left earbud.)
After making its debut in the original Pixel Buds, the Google Translate feature returns with the Pixel Buds 2. Again, this is an Android-only feature. You just tell Google Assistant to help you speak whatever language you want, with more than 40 languages supported. You tap and hold either earbud and start speaking in the language listed under the headset icon. Your phone then translates and reads out loud what you said into your selected language. Just before the person you’re talking to speaks, tap the right microphone in Google Translate and their response will be translated into your language and played back through the Pixel Buds. It works surprisingly well, particularly in quieter environments, though the person you’re talking to has to listen to your translated language through your phone’s speakers, which have their volume limitations.
The Pixel Buds 2 are splash-resistant and can be used for running.
David Carnoy/CNET
While I thought the Pixel Buds 2’s sound quality was quite good — more on that in a minute — they performed really well as a headset for making calls. I’m currently not in New York, where I usually test out call quality, but I made some calls and played New York City street noise (via YouTube) in the background as I conversed. I put the volume pretty far up on a set of small speakers and callers were impressed by how little noise they heard around me, though some leaked in when I talked. Google says that “two beamforming mics focus on your voice, while voice accelerometers detect jaw movement to know when you’re talking.” The noise reduction is quite effective. The Pixel Buds 2 are right there with the best earbuds for making calls.
Read more: Best wireless earbuds and Bluetooth headphones for phone calls
There’s an app for non-Pixel Android devices — with Pixel phones it’s integrated into the system — but no app for iOS devices, which is too bad. You can still use these with iPhones and Macs like standard Bluetooth headphones, but you lose extra features like the always-on Google Assistant.
As I said, there’s no noise-canceling. Instead, there’s an adaptive sound mode that automatically adjusts the volume to the environment you’re in. I didn’t see a transparency mode, but there’s some venting in the earbuds that keeps you from feeling too occluded and allows you to hear your voice in the buds when you’re making a phone call (Google calls it a “spatial vent for in-ear pressure reduction and spatial awareness.”) It’s not a full-on sidetone feature, though; I’d call it sidetone lite. Note that a little sound does leak out of the buds when you really crank your tunes, so you probably don’t want to play these at high volumes in a quiet room with people sitting nearby.
Dual IR proximity sensors detect when the buds are in your ears and automatically pause your music when you pull one out of your ear and resume when you put it back in. You can also use one bud independently of the other (if you want to go the single-bud route for calls). And it’s also worth noting that I paired the buds to multiple devices, but I had to manually select the previous device from its Bluetooth menu if I wanted to go back to it. Google says the Pixel Buds 2 will store pairings with up to six devices. There’s a pairing button on the case, as there is with the AirPods.
The fit nicely in the wireless charging case.
David Carnoy/CNET
Like the AirPods Pro and Galaxy Buds Plus, these have an IPX4 water-resistance rating, which means they’re splashproof and sweat-resistant. I ran with them without a problem and I thought the touch controls were responsive and worked very well. A swipe feature allows you to control volume from the buds themselves.
Except for a minor Bluetooth glitch or two, my wireless connection remained rock solid and I was able to wander pretty far from my phone (more than the usual 10 meters) before losing the connection. The buds use Bluetooth 5.0, and I didn’t notice any audio lag when watching videos from streaming services like YouTube and Netflix.
Battery life is similar to that of the AirPods and AirPods Pro — 5 hours, plus an additional 19 hours from the case (a 10-minute charge in the case gives you two hours of battery life, Google says). The Galaxy Buds Plus can deliver up to 11 hours at moderate volume levels. It’s unclear how much the impact the always-on Google Assistant has on battery life, however.
These have “custom-designed” 12mm dynamic drivers, and, as I said, they sound very good for true wireless, with well-defined bass and good clarity. They’re right there with the Galaxy Buds Plus and Jabra Elite 75t with about the same bass performance or (it may be a touch less plump, depending on the seal you get from the included ear tips, which come in three sizes). The AirPods Pro sound slightly more open but the Pixel Buds 2 are a little more detailed. I didn’t see any way to adjust the bass and treble levels in the settings on the Pixel 4 or in the Android app.
For sound, these don’t rise to the level of the top sounding true wireless earbuds, which include the Sony WF-1000XM3 and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2. That said, both of those are more expensive, particularly the $300 Sennheiser, which delivers richer, more refined sound with a bigger soundstage. For example, listening to Red Hearse‘s self-titled track with the Sennheiser, the bass goes deeper and there’s a little more sparkle in the treble. The sound from Momentum True Wireless 2 just feels bigger and more immersive.
For better or worse, when it comes to sound, sometimes it helps to compare a headphone to the top models to hear what you’re missing. But if you were just using the Pixel Buds 2 without listening to anything else, most people would be quite pleased with the sound.
In the end, Google finally has a set of wireless earbuds that are worthy contenders. They’re a little more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus, which are probably the better value — they get discounted $10 or $20 on occasion — but the Pixel Buds 2 are a solid all-around package with some distinguishing features and excellent call quality.

Hard of Hearing Bakugou! AU
Haccinintothegate courteously wrote a fanfic based on my hard of hearing Bakugou AU. A lot of people were asking for this in the tags, so please thank her for writing this for us !!
Through passing years, routine began to form.
The roots began on his 6th birthday, doubled over in pain with his ears cupped tightly by his hands on each side of his head; the small fire put out by his elementary teacher. The ringing pierced his head and felt like nothing more than a fallacy, as if the blood that pounded through his ears was something to simply ignore.
Seeing their child in pain, his parents had forced him to wear earmuffs when handling his quirk, despite being met with arguing and thrashing. It gave him time to realise the self-destructive inevitability of his quirk but even so, it didn’t put him off being a hero. Not even once.
The routine began to form itself once he knew how to handle his quirk in middle school. He wore the earmuffs up until 14 and soon discarded them once he started to practice in bouts, only to resume training once the ringing had stopped. His knuckles had become a dull red, the skin coarse and to make it worse, it became more and more difficult to sleep every so often.
This carried on up until middle school, where the effects of his quirk had become bearable at best; he could use his quirk for show and was met with no consequences to his ears, not long-lasting ones, anyway. He would constantly tease “Deku” with it as he flashed it in his face at every opportunity with a grin, he would then slam his hands on the desk to swipe up whatever was on it.
“We ain’t done here, Deku.” He grimaced, Izuku’s notebook in hand and overlooking the faint characters on the front with a snicker. The book was left smashed and charred in a small explosion, his hands blistered from such close contact as smoke let up after he threw it over his shoulder, flickers of flame trailed the book as it flew out of the window. Bakugou had turned to Izuku, finidng his cheeks were stained with few tears, but his eyes locked on Bakugou – as though he had noticed a tick, subconsciously noting it through his distress.
It was at that time mild pain had flushed through his ears, he winced in the form of a crooked smirk before the pain had left as soon as it had come. He looked back over his shoulder at the sullen mess of school desks and the window left a jar, Izuku had quickly turned with a pathetic sneer, how Bakugou described it. He instantly showed off his flames once more with a crackle, and it had only left him in another state of pain.
.
A few years had gone by since he had been admitted into U.A, followed by unrelenting training, high expectations and his quirkless, dunce, middle school “friend”. His frustrations had been following him as well, finding that curling up in his dorm with a pillow acting as a vice over his ears as a common occurrence. He admittedly thought, albeit for a moment, his ears had adapted to the noise levels he works with but after the Summer Camp, that hadn’t been the case. If anything, most noises came through mostly muffled, like irremovable headphones or ear plugs; which was why he didn’t leave the dorm, he didn’t need the humiliation of asking for the third time for a repeat of someone’s small talk. So he subdued the instinct to go train in favour of his health, concluding missing out on a class gives his peers a chance to catch up to his expertise.
Despite it all, he also had yet to see a doctor. With Summer quickly passing by with merciless tragedies, he hadn’t had chance to even stop and think about it, there was hardly any time to now anyway. His mother had called time and time again, suggesting a single day off school to admit himself to a clinic, but a day wasn’t the same as a class, so he outright refused. He worried she’d show up at school just to drag him there.
Day by day, it was harder to deal with the ringing as prominent as it was, so missing a few classes was also part of this routine. He would’ve missed the faint knocking on his door – of which he could only really assume was faint – If it hadn’t been for the brief pause he took the pillow off his head. Upon the realisation it could’ve been a teacher for skipping class, he kept quiet.
“Katsuki?” He’d hadn’t been able to pin the voice down until he moved off his bed to step closer to the door. “Katsuki, are you in there?” Ochaco’s voice chirped as she knocked with a little more force, caught in the act as Bakugou opened the door and glared at her. Caught off guard, she flinched and lowered her hand, turning it into something like a low wave to greet.
A few moments passed.
“Fuc-” Thinking better of it, “What do you want, Round-face?” He pursed his lips disgustingly, one hand bracing on the door.
“I was told to come ask if you were feeling unwell.” Ochaco said, “Iida and the others are finding it hard to concentrate without all that noise you usually make!” She lapsed into a quiet giggle. “Are you okay? Do you need me to go get Recovery Girl?..”
“No, I’m feeling just fucking dandy.” He spat, slamming the door shut; anything else Ochaco said was lost to the hallway. His knuckles tensed around the pillow, flushing white as he pulled it over his head again with enough force for a small headache. He decided to stay like this for a half an hour, ignoring the buzz of his phone as it lit up with new messages.
Like clockwork, Ochaco would do this every so often, even after-school. The random ‘check-ups’ had reminded him of a teacher or a doctor, so most of the time he hardly answered the door to let her ask. On rare occasions he did, Izuku and Iida would both be there too, rewarding them with a curse and a scowl.
He got off the bed, picking up the suitcase that withheld his costume to put on, half-checking his phone at the same time: 2 messages from Ochaco.
'i told them you were asleep’ The other message reading, 'they let you off because of everything that happened at camp. feel better soon!” He didn’t need to be 'let off’, he could do as he liked.
Simply ignoring the messages, he finished preparing his outfit before making his way to the TDL.
.
Any attempt to call out at him entering the building was ignored, instead, a thin mantle of smoke engulfed his platform, lungs full of dust and vision blurred, he kept blasting fire for momentary visuals. He soon found sturdy footing, barging his way through the smoke whilst holding his breath. Rushing water flushed his ears, unclenching his fist to propel himself upward with a small explosion; drop, drop, drop. He blasted a line of fire at the clone, the smoke letting up just enough to register that he didn’t hit him. He wiped his eyes, frowning as he found the clone in front of him again.
“Don’t cloud your vision too much.” Ectoplasm spoke, but the words were drowned in favour of the water, its sudden rush stifling his breathing. Adjusting his stance, a piercing ring surged him forward with dull knuckles, fire sparking off them as the ringing turned into an alarm. His knee fell to the floor, bringing the rest of him down with it, doubled over in pain with his ears cupped tightly by his hands.
.
Bakugou’s pen fumbled in his hand, glaring over at the small case at the end of his desk and picking it up to take the top off. He hadn’t wanted to, but Aizawa had forced him to see the nurse to be admitted to a hospital, along with a hard scolding for not mentioning it in the past. He hadn’t lost all of it, but a good portion of his hearing rendered him completely unable to hear most sounds without his hearing aids; which made it all the more frustrating that his classmates were completely supportive of him.
“Katsuki?” Ochaco tried to greet him, only to turn to Asui who gave a somewhat vague head gesture toward Bakugou. She looked over again, peering round to get his attention only to tap his shoulder after her prior realisation. She flinched as he jolted, taking the hearing-aids out of their case and putting them on to greet the person with a frown.
He did want to shout for the sudden disturbance, the lack of warning and the possibility of a 'check-up’ – but thought better of it in early morning.
“..What?” He kept his teeth gritted, watching his words.
“Good morning!” Ochaco practically sang, “We have a test today, but I think Aizawa will let you off. Again.” She huffed playfully, folding her hands behind her back.
“I don’t need a shitty test to tell me I’m good.”
“Mhm.” She tried not to laugh, “Are you feeling better?”
There it was, but this time it felt less clock-work, more natural.
“I’ve had five fucking people ask me the same thing: I’m fine.” He grumbled, leaning his arm on the back of the chair. “Can’t you guys just calm down?”
“Iida was really worried you know!” Of course the class president lost his shit, he thought, “He was waving his arms about in a panic trying to calm the class down, it kind of reminded me of Summer Camp.”
Though he pursed his lips at the thought, but found they lapsed into comfortable conversation a lot lighter than the topic of anything recent, despite it being a little hard to talk not being able to hear his own voice very well. He found they were planning a karaoke night followed by a sleepover, which he gingerly agreed to as long as he didn’t destroy anything (or anyone for that matter, but he held no promises).
When Aizawa walked in, Ochaco said her goodbyes with a grin and sat in her seat. Bakugou wondered if he would rather see her smile or hear her voice more.
.
'King Explosion Murder.’ He flicked through the sign language book and followed the patterns, finding it was much easier to sign than talk; even if it had been Izuku’s idea, Ochaco enforced it which made him a little more willing.
'No.’ She swiped her fingers, raising an eyebrow with a sigh. 'It needs to be heroic.’
He flicked through the book again, finding out for one: what she had signed, and for two: preparing a come-back even though he had no idea what she said.
When he did: 'You’re not my mum.’
'I might as well be.’ She laughed.

Airpods Pro: Best Active Noise Canceling Earbuds
Well known brand Apple released their new Airpods Pro with active noise canceling feature, which let's you enjoy music in a crowded place or streets. Apple are not alone in this anymore, as if now many other well known brands producing earbuds with active noise cancellation and they are also very good if not better. But as always apple successfully maintains their ability to standout from others. Standard sound quality with very comfortable fit in your ear and easy to operate. Look wise Apple Airpods Pros are 2nd to none.

Airpods Pro Amazon Airpods Pro Walmart Airpods Pro BestBuy Apple Airpods Pro Ear Tips Now the ear tip providing the seal is quite unique here and I never talked about this with other earphones since it's quite standards. Pretty born here as a silicone but the airpad pros has a piece of plastic on the end of the ear tip that literally snaps into the earphones you can hear. You can actually feel it sometimes.
Tumblr media
Airpods Pro Ear Tips
FEATURES
New in-ear design Silicone tips in 3 sizes Active noise cancellation technology IPX4 water and sweat resistance H1 chip with "Hey Siri" support Super easy to swap out and it is secure. Now the more important part. I don't know how Apple does this but these are one of the least intrusive, very comfortable designs that I've tested and I won't give credit to the Samsung Galaxy buds. Those are amazing to wear and gave me a very similar feeling to these but compared to the market the Samsung Galaxy buds and the airpods pros are super light.   They don't Jam into my ear. The best way I can describe it if they both feel like an airy. Now I will admit though and this is just my personal opinion here. I've never been a fan of the airpods dangling from my ears. These are technically a little bit shorter.   The airpods pros fit and contours to my ears ridiculously well like some leather gloves from the 90s or some flight path. Please don't fill out the ball of my ear. They don't feel like the ear tips are solely keeping the earphones in place. It just feels like they're dangling but oddly enough they are very stable.
Airpods Pro Great For Workout & Running
So, this brings me to my test how did it stay in the ears for runs and workouts in shirt. I got to give credit here. These stay in ridiculously well again runs crazy movements and also jumping up and down here that's a big one. I've never had to push my earphones back into my ear to want to recreate the seal and second to push them back in because there they feel like they're about to fall out or they have shifted.
Tumblr media
IP4 protections I don't know how they do it but the design just simply works. As a side note these are IP4 rated which means they are water resistant against splashes. They can't be sprayed with a jet of water and surely, they can't be submerged other competitors. Some competitors out there are actually a little bit better with an IP7 certification. You can drop them to a puddle of water, they'll be fine.   But with these here the Apple airpods pros, I splash water on these and they're still working fine today.
Airpods Pro Force Sensors & Functionality
So, folks let's get a closer look here at the functions. It's very simple here on each earphone the stem has a very subtle area for you to press it's called the force sensor. One squeeze to pause and play to skip a track, three to go back and if you hold it down you can actually hear an audio prompt indicating to switch from transparency mode to active noise cancelling and vice versa the force sensor is somewhat customizable as you guys can see on image here.  But I hate this here when companies do this for truly wireless earphones. There should be vibe adjustment features or buttons here. You don't have it; you cannot increase or decrease by right on the earphones and when I'm at the gym or when I'm running a song or video can be louder in vibe than my previous track and I'd need to lower it. I don't want to pull out my phone.
Tumblr media
Music Play Or Pause, Press Once To Receive The Incoming Calls, Press Once Skip Forward On A Track, Press Twice Skip Back On A track, Press 3 Times Press and hold to switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode
Airpods Pro Hey Siri
Now to be fair I do have Siri which I can tell her to lower or raise volume. It's objective, you want to talk to yourself in public but again just putting it out there but speak in a Serie. They tested this with my iPhone 10 and the other side of my apartment over here seeing if I can call up Siri from the airpods pros themselves and it did work. I don't need the phone necessarily nearby as long as there's still a connection it's fine.   With Android Google assistant didn't seem to be activated through the earphones at all which was a total bummer.
Airpods Pro Bluetooth Range
Now speaking of being on the other side of my apartment here let's talk about signal strength and such Bluetooth 5.0 is featured testing distance with my iPhone 10 and Android pixel 4xl.  Both phones were able to achieve a hundred percent coverage in my 1,100 square foot apartment and that's what this signal going through several walls is excellent. This was also the same with video on both devices. There were zero syncing delays on both Apple and Android devices making video, watching absolutely lag free.   Now parent wise indeed these can be paired with multiple devices and then the connection itself can be switched seamlessly having a signal appeared on my Android at first and then tapping on the iPhone. Let's say my laptop that's not what have you the connection simply just jumps over. So, overall, I never had Bluetooth issues and the connection has always remained inconsistent.
Apple Airpods Pro Battery Life + Case Charge
Now regarding battery life, Apple is claiming up to five hours per use. Being upfront here this was the average for most truly wireless earphones but now it's actually on the low end with many new competitors and even budget brands offering seven, eight- and nine-hours' worth of battery life granted.
Tumblr media
They don't offer active noise-cancelling but the closest competitor at the moment it's the sony WF 1000 x m3. Now when I did my battery test at 55 zero here 50 percent vine with ANZ on the sony laugh in 6 hours and 23 minutes doing the same exact test and the same audio playlist. The airpods pros got six hours even down to the minute actually on a more positive note with both competitors and their respective charging cases both earphones can actually achieve up to 24 hours of total playback.
Tumblr media
Quick charging is available on the airpods pros with 15 minutes in the case. It'd given you back three hours of listening time. Sony claims ten minutes in their case and it would get you an hour back that's it.
Tumblr media
Now regarding Apple's charging case it's smooth, small and easy to handle. A bit sterile looking and this is getting a lot of attraction right now. It's wireless charging places on a wireless charging pad then off it goes all right.
Apple Airpods Pro Audio Quality
Let's jump into the audio side of things. First up with transparency mode, this works great and I wish this was readily available on the power beats Pro. When activating this the microphones and the earphones pumped in your environment for safety and awareness. This sounds very natural. It doesn't sound amplified and the airpods pros don't sound artificial as well.  It's almost as though I'm not wearing anything at all during my time testing. Now I did confirm you don't need an iPhone for this I connected this to my android phone and using that force sensor you can actually turn it on and off by again holding it down for a second.
Apple Airpods Pro Active Noise Canceling
There's active noise-cancelling now this is quite interesting here. The sony WFT 1000 XM threes also included active noise canceling. The ANC was present but because of the passive noise isolation and then music playing the active noise canceling feature wasn't really the highlight. It didn't seem to be as effective as their sony WH 1000 headphones.   Not apples to apples but again just for reference there of how different they were with the airpods pros. These canceled out more voices and much more ambient air using the ANC and the airpods was more noticeable especially when listening to podcasts videos, Netflix, YouTube etc. Where there might not be a cast of beat but instead there's a lot of dialogue.   Active noise cancelling doesn't cancel out everything though but for what the airpods pros does its Shaklee does a great job. This muffles a lot of coffee shops and restaurant noses. This also cancels out pretty much all air conditioners fans that have going on here and light breezes. All remaining noises that's able to penetrate through this does sound reduce a simple tapping and scratching on the desk.   Proved to be less versus the other truly wireless earphones I've tested so far. There's no hissing there's no white noise and I don't feel any cabin air pressure feeling. When ANC is activating, it's just really damn good I would highly recommend anyone to try them to get that experience Read about 12 best noise canceling earbuds (2020)
Apple Airpods Pro Call Test & Transparency Mode
It’s all about experiences so folks let's get into the phone call test. Testing phone calls I do have the capability of turning on transparency modes. Like it's here my surroundings here, what is going on in the background and of course I do have active noise-cancelling available as well. It does play phone calls through both ear phones and clearer as well.
Tumblr media
How good is the bass on AirPods pro?
Let’s talk about the audio & bass. First up these can get loud at 65 to 70 percent BOM is love for me and that's where I usually have it at when I want to get lost in my music bass. The airpods pros are definitely better than the previous airpods because of its seal when compared to the competitors. Sennheiser provides higher fidelity and depth, jaybird offers bass boosted punchy bass. Here the sony WF 1000 XM 3 is slightly deeper and more resonating than the airpods pros.  Read about Jaybird X4 sports earbuds  The Powerbeats pro hits the deepest here so with that being said the air pad pros bass performance it sounded good without distortion. Don't get me wrong but for me personally i wish it was just a little bit deeper for you at home. You might prefer that cleaner overall in the middle-of-the-road bass response. where it's not flat but not boo me are there hopefully that gives you kind of a range right.   There the mid-range itself is clean. The mid-range is where you hear a lot of instruments and vocal work. That's what the human ear hears and its distortion free. It's not pushed forward or bright yet, not underwhelming either. It's clearer than the Powerbeats Pros and when I mean clean, it doesn't sound either suppressed or pushed too far forward. It's Eric transparent and the vocals cut through right into your ears.   You can say and even compared to the Sony WF 1000 XM threes. The clarity the vocals are slightly a little bit better than airpods pros than the Sony's but again the trade-off not so deep bass. Now the mid-range was lacking a bit of sound-stage in my opinion. I do interpret audio direction really well I can sense some music in the forefront to the side of me and slightly above and behind me but the airiness and the width of audio interpretation just wasn't big.   The sound-stage is really important here as for the high frequencies there's sound that is basically rolled off preventing musical notes like snare taps and cymbal crashes and music to not Sparkle or hit that high level to make this music pop.  I honestly believe that Apple plays it super safe and provides an audio signature that's so well rounded and so clean then I think people that picks this up.   Read about Powerbeats Pro true bass earbuds
Does AirPods pro sound's better?
It'll sound good to them but those who are looking for that uniqueness that makes an audio brand spin out, I don't see it in Airpods Pro. On the audio side the audio doesn't sound full or emotional. The lack of soundstage didn't transport me to another place or the lack of fidelity didn't hit that level of finesse where I was saying wow damn holy cow.   Airpods Pro are really freaking good when I was testing these and I'm not knocking the air pod pros but to give them proper credit here, they do sound good it's what a quality sound signature should be. Distortion free clear consistent but I've had competitors with audio signatures that's as cheesy as it sounds. I nod my head to the music more often than these so just on the audio alone, I still highly recommend them.   Don't get me wrong but I believe more so as a great audio experience for everyday use, the commute maybe at work those kinds of experiences. If you're looking for something that would make you fall in love with your music again.  Airpods Pro Amazon
Overall
The Airpods Pro kills it on form and function. These are crazy comfortable; they magically stay in the ear really well. The Bluetooth connection is phenomenal and through my testing this has the best tech that reduces outside noises on the market for truly wild earphone. The battery life, the lack of vine controls and the audio it's not bad and I want to emphasize that but it could be better though.  These are still surely worth a purchase and I will admit the price is justified if you're a priority though is a and C and you want some everyday buds for work and your commute. Airpods Pros are ridiculously intuitive to use and at the end of day it's your call.   let me know what you guys think down below I'm honestly just giving credit where credit is due and even if you own these earphones, I want to hear your opinions below.  Read the full article

I don't know how they do it but the design just simply works.
Quick charging is available on the airpods pros with 15 minutes in the case. It'd given you back three hours of listening time. Sony claims ten minutes in their case and it would get you an hour back that's it.  Now regarding Apple's charging case it's smooth, small and easy to handle. A bit sterile looking and this is getting a lot of attraction right now. It's wireless charging places on a wireless charging pad then off it goes all right.
