one of the big reasons miss swift resonates so deeply with wlw i think is the romantic and intimate way she describes some relationships that are very reminiscent of the intimacies of being a young wlw falling in love with your female best friend. so many songs are all about knowing someone, like really knowing them as the ultimate form of love, even before any sexual/physical manifestation of romance happens.

"i knew you" and "call my bluff" and "quiet my fears with the touch of your hand" and the repetitive "i just wanna know you better" in everything has changed and "you knew, you knew" in hoax. even the gravity of "you're my best friend" in YAIL and also "i don't want you like a best friend" followed by "even in my worst lies you saw the truth in me". the kind of way you knew your girlhood best friend, having spent every day with her and intertwining your lives. how she was the person you'd turn to for joy or sorrow or even the most mundane of saturdays spent in silence just watching tv. the deep form of love that is sharing a slice of cheesecake where you eat the top and save the crunchy crust for her because that's the only part of the cheesecake she likes. of her knowing which pillow from her bed you prefer and bringing it down to the basement for you when it's time to go to sleep during a sleepover. how you both do these things without thinking because you know each other so intricately and intimately. her songs can really highlight the romanticism in simply being known, especially when you're known without actively revealing yourself and they simply see you. not to mention the romanticism in being the person your best friend has chosen to reveal herself to so you can know her. How thrilling it is to get a full picture of yourself for the first time in the things she noticed about you, the favorite pillows and the cheesecake crusts altogether.

and how it can feel almost unavoidable for young wlw to fall for their girlhood best friends and so many wlw kids are cruelly made to feel ashamed or predatory. so if you're looking for one reason why wlw like her music despite not being explicitly gay, for me at least (a lesbian), taylor's songs that romanticize that kind of intimately knowing friends -> lovers love provide a kind of comfort and validation for those experiences, whether they're memories or you're going through them now. they help reframe them as something normal and lovely, which is what they truly are. because if the most foundational form of love, the core of romantic love really, is being voluntarily seen and understood by someone else, of course the first girl a wlw falls for is the girl who already knew you so well, but more importantly, who knew you first.

Willy does play the role of the previous Evil Queen before Scary so here he is imprisoned his Magic (Doodler) Mirror that he will totaaaallly stay trapped in. mhm. definitely will not trick someone into breaking him out. (I am lying he definitely gets out)

hm taylor has been someone i can’t make up my mind abt. i feel (heavy on i) she constantly preaches about female empowerment and all that but the moment her girl squad does something she deems wrong they’d be teared down to shreds. just look what happened to katy perry (i never really approved of the whole saga)

but i looked away from all of that because her music is absolutely amazing and i genuinely like her as an artist. you can’t discredit her talent where it’s due. her “i’m only going to speak out if this issue slanders me or if it boosts my rep” mentality is weird but well. many celebrities are often like that we can’t rly do anything.
