I’ve been re-reading your amputation fic lately (multiple times yes lol). It always amazes me how you capture a character even while writing a clearly non-con activity. Basically anything gojo included, but this one specifically. It’s just that, we don’t see gore with him often, not this type anyway, and there’s something strangely alluring to it.

He lives a detached life, forced to suppress his emotions to function in a reality filled with so much ugliness. It would make sense for his worldview to warp. The idea of him turning violent towards his lover and finding sick type of enjoyment/arousal in it, calling it love even is something I deem possible. Do you think you’ll be revisiting this type of topics with him?

ahhh thank you thank you <3 i do not think i'll be making amputation a regular talking point of my blog, but that is one of the few fics i re-read fairly often. i think it just fits so well with gojo,,, he's so used to getting his way, so desensitized to violence, so programmed to believe that anything that doesn't kill you can't really be that bad,,, of course, there's a difference between his limitless letting him walking away from a fight without a bruise and shoko managing to stop your bleeding seconds before you pass the point of no return, but still. would it really be so bad if you had to depend on him a little more, lean on him a little more? would it really be so awful of him to enjoy the thought of forcing you to?

so uhhh robot boombox au is pretty much just in my brain, i havent posted abt it or anything. but ive got vague ideas about it!

im gonna put bullet points under the cut in no particular order, cause again, this is mostly just concepts, so expect a bunch of yapping

in this au boombox would be created by someone, and was made to be a sort of 'testing device' for a manufactured gear (his boombox). while also being a sort of artificial life based on mimicry.

(note, i am not well versed in robotics stuff, if something seems stupid uhhh whoops)

i havent come up with a creator or creators, but they made him with the intent of seeing if they could basically make an artificial demon that could get along with other demons well! (thats where his creators got the idea to make him a dj, or a glorified mp3 player came from.)

hes entirely mechanical, his power source is through electrical charging. he charges often, which comes across as him sleeping often.

i imagine him with a charger tail that can also somewhat extend.

his visor is literally attached to his face and would be more emotive than regular boombox phighting

i imagine he got let out to interact with other demons, he was given a lot of carefully monitored data, and even now seeks out ways to be more empathetic, and to be responsive to others emotions and to help them.

he doesnt become evil or anything like that

his 'skin' would be some kind of rubber or latex, used to protect internal components and appear more demon-like.

he has two speakers imbedded in his chest, and in the rubber skin there'd be mesh to let sound travel clearer, which happen to look like top scars ( :P )

in place of where a human heart would be, he has an internal metronome, which he can set the tempo of. it can also be heard if youre super close, like a faux heartbeat.

his horns work as a secondary charging method throughout the day, acting like low powered solar panels, (like the ones youd find on calculators).

his horns take in uv light and convert it to energy. amd they are covered with a transparent solid material (imagine something like resin) to give the appearance of a normal demons horn. however this means charging through his tail is much more optimal than the passive uv charging.

has a database in his torso containing specifically music knowledge. audio can be downloaded to there and sorted and dissected to make him work better and understand the tastes of demons

in his heads a mini computer.

his mouth is a simple metal open close rectangle shape, with small components that either make the faux-skin sides of his mouth pull up (to make a smile) or down (to make a frown)

also in this au rgb trio still a thing because i am insane abt them

i imagine skate and sling learn that boombox is a robot, but they still care for him and treat him the same as before

he doesnt 'feel' anything in a person sense, and he hasnt gained sentience or anything. his programming makes it so he's drawn to other demons, and wants to make them happy. and in return, he feels 'happy' when he accomplishes that.

he learns about friends and other relationships and such, and if he has a few people he's especially close to that he can make happy just by being around, it means he's achieving his goal.

so he does have favorites, mostly because he learned that demons tend to have favorite people, and therefore replicated that behavior

he's in a qpr with skate and sling, who r both dating eachother, theyre all very affectionate.

sometimes if he gets too many positive inputs at a time, you can hear his fans running quicker (like, example, his partners are being super sweet to him, verbally or physically.

he doesnt know who made him, nor really cares to find out

when he was made, he was given the knowledge of about a 17 year old, and the mentality of one. he counts his birthdays as aging, being currently 23.

sometimes when him, sling and skate are sleeping together, he'll play calming music directly from himself.

he doesnt sleep, but shuts off non-essential components and kind of pretends to sleep while charging. since he has to be plugged into a socket of sorts. usually during that mode hes sorting any files, or things he's collected. throughout the day

sling and skate dont know that he isnt actually sleeping, and think he's just powered off

his gear works as youd expect, able to play music and use its abilities. he's just also able to directly play music from his body

when being created, he was made first, and the idea of an artificial gear came second. which is why theres overlapping abilities that may seem redundant.

his creators are no longer alive

his creators were from playground

he would likely be 'killed' for having an artificial gear and used for parts if certain people knew (the law)

and heres some silly sketches i made in class awhiiile ago (note again that i do not make robotics or know pretty much anything abt them. im just having fun ^^')

Thank you so much for your support. I have generally been able to avoid any personal attacks over the year, but this one was uncalled for. Additionally, that little fool will never know what all of us know, and he/she/it will never know what I and the rest of you know about Lannes.

Time for a little story: When I began my doctorate studies at FSU in the autumn of 1989, I discovered within two months that all the books in the extensive and quite rare Napoleonic books and documents that in any way concerned Lannes were just gone. Following some rather inspired sleuthing, I found that the culprit was another grad student who intended to do his dissertation on Lannes, but he had just been dismissed from the graduate program. He intended that I wouldn't be able to access the needed materials. So I reported the theft to the campus police, who reported it to the local police, who ran it up the flagpole to the FBI because this guy was from Louisiana and probably took everything home with him. And he did. The books and documents were retrieved and returned, and this guy served three years in a federal prison. His name is Charlton Matovsky--Google him for all the details.

The lesson here is not to fuck with me or Jean-Boy. We will get you, and you will enter the "find out" phase of FAFO.

One thing I can promise: I'll buy back my book rights in the next year or two, add some new tuff and reformat it, then put it on Amazon for free with Kindle Unlimited and a whopping $1.98 regular Kindle version. I've never wanted money from the ook. I just want to be Jean-Boy's publicity manager.

Oh, thank you! Doberbutts is my side blog that I started over a decade ago to document my journey with Creed, who has since departed (3 years in September). He was my whole world, and learning how to exist without him has been... interesting. The non-dog stuff on this blog started when it was too painful to be a dog blog without him, so me talking about dogs again is mostly just a return to regular programming after some time away to grieve.

It's complicated, but yeah, I broadly agree.

I don't know how much background knowledge you have, so to put it very simply: all programming languages are lists of things a computer should do, designing a programming language is a process of picking what the programmer is allowed to ask for and what the programmer is not allowed to ask for, and we are running out of ideas for what we might want to put in those two categories. (If you want to come up with creative ideas for a programming language, you have to come up with bad ideas for a programming language.)

The current debate is (again very simply) over whether a language should make it hard to write a program which is not well-formed ('dynamic', 'weak'), or whether it should make it hard to write a program which is not what you meant ('static', 'strong'). To use a math analogy: if I type 'twenty eight+14' into Desmos, should it return '42' or 'syntax error'?

I'm in camp 'what I mean', but I don't think other side is always in the wrong, either. There's a tension in both, I think, between the ways they require you think about your programs and the ways humans beings actually think. I suspect that may be intractable.

There are other debates, too. These all tend to rise in and out of public discussion at semi-regular intervals. One of the bigger ones is about 'objects'. To again oversimplify: if you were trying to represent Chess, would you say that a piece and the rules describing it are the same thing ('object oriented') or that the rules and the pieces are different things ('imperative', or maybe instead one of several other paradigms)? I tend to side against objects, but again there's an intractable tension in all approaches. Sometimes you wish you could have it both ways.

All of these debates have arisen because the compromises programming languages need to make are (mostly) no longer about what computer can and cannot do, but what human brains can and cannot do. There's still some cultural lag from when this wasn't the case -- not every idea has had its day in the sun -- but we're catching up fast. (Some people think that large language models will help them overcome what their brain cannot do. I am extremely skeptical.)

There is one space where I still think there's room for experimentation, and that's machine code. The real bare metal stuff. Unlike programming languages, good and fast computers are very expensive to design, build, and buy. This means that there are way more ways to build computers than have gotten a fair shake yet. Maybe one day VLIW will see the light...

Just realized I never really showed off Maiden's design properly. So uh... Here's the phases and some basic explanations, I guess? If people even care?

Potential Warning?

While I'm not entirely sure if a warning is needed, Maiden is meant to be a more serious character, so some designs that will be seen below are KINDA spooky looking, not really disturbing I'd say, but I felt like I should put this warning here just in case. Look out for her Phase 2 if you dislike sorta glitchy/distorted bodies, and her Phase 3 for a general spooky look...

Phase 1 - Sapphire

Phase 1 is pretty simple. At this point, she's still supposed to be a regular Mii. She's unaware of anything outside of her NPC-like programming. Her name was Sapphire pre-transformation.

Phase 2 - Virus (beginning of transformation)

Phase 2 is after the event that causes her sentience. Trying to return to the Mii Channel after the event seemingly messed up her model, as it occasionally stretches and glitches in ways like seen in the above image. She's sentient in this phase, aware of her surroundings and the player/person watching.

Phase 3 - Maiden (unstable/true form)

Phase 3 is her most hostile form. Having given in to the glitching and learning to control it, she's managed to find a form that she can use to fight. She's not always in attack mode, though her attempts to be friendly might be kinda painful. Watch out for the spikes and ESPECIALLY her weird pointy hand blades...

Phase 3.5(?) - Maiden (stable/friendly)

After Phase 3, she eventually managed to find a way to stabilize herself into a more friendly form. She can switch between the stable and unstable forms whenever she desires. However, this is the form that will be most commonly seen within art of her and for her ask blog.

The Toonami Trending Rundown for May 31 and June 1-2, 2024. For the first time since April 15, 2004, Toonami would return to airing on a weekday timeslot on Fridays with Toonami Rewind as part of Adult Swim’s expansion to 5pm to showcase classic Cartoon Network programming. The inaugural lineup featured the return of Sailor Moon to Toonami for the first time in 23 years alongside an hour of DBZ Kai and OG Naruto. 

And fans on social media responded very positively to Toonami Rerun’s debut. On Twitter, #ToonamiRewind trended in the USA alongside Sailor Moon and DBZ Kai.

Meanwhile on the regular Toonami late night lineup, Zom 100 returned from its three-week hiatus, and Demon Slayer begun its rerun of the Entertainment District arc in the meantime. In terms of trends, #Toonami trended in the USA on Twitter alongside My Adventures with Superman and Zom 100. #Toonami also trended on Tumblr.

This week’s feature was a game review of Dave the Diver, developed by Mintrocket studios. It received an 8.5 out of 10 score.

Despite the present upheaval at Warner Bros Discovery, the current success of Toonami was paramount to Cartoon Network and Adult Swim creating Toonami Rewind. According to Jason DeMarco on Blue Sky, “It was the network’s idea to try a second Toonami block since they are very happy with the performance of the Saturday night version. They wondered if a throwback Toonami would be interesting. We liked the idea!” And assuming things go well, Jason says he has “all kinds of cool plans to bring more shows in” including shows Toonami has aired in the past, Adult Swim action shows, western animated action classics and more.

Of course, that all depends on if people continue to watch Toonami Rewind every Friday as with regular Toonami every Saturday. So be sure to keep watching (or at least set your DVRs) and help contribute to the social media buzz if you’re into it. And as with any potential Toonami show, if you do wish to see a show air on Toonami or Toonami Rewind, feel free to let Toonami know on their Facebook page as well as letting Jason DeMarco know on his Bluesky @clarknova.bsky.social. Hey, no worries Anon, I do get it. I think the joke has run its course and you won't be quite as bombarded with it. Fair warning though, I appreciate rolling humor like that, and I will still be posting things here and there that aren't directly related. The gags especially come in like a windfall because I add fuel by sending out those responses rapid-fire. And it will happen again, because I genuinely just enjoy doing it. I'll try to keep the regular story tags out of it. It's just habit to pop that in without thinking. So that might help unclutter the feed.

My primary UTAU. Rockstar zombie man. Laidback guy who rolls with the punches. He sings both clean and harsh vocals and plays keytar. 5'11" and wears heels to be over 6ft.

He does not remember how or when he died. His body is animated by dark magic stored in his heart and will return to stasis when injured. He cannot feel pain but he will get annoyed if he gets hurt or if his limbs fall off. If his brain gets damaged badly enough he'll start trying to eat people (but normally he prefers regular food).

Blog Update - 02/04/2024

TL;DR: We have a new blog banner. Happy Birthday, Osana Najimi!!

Whew!! Now with the Raftmageddon WHOLLY over with, and today's huge post also done - It's time to return back to regular programming. I hope you enjoyed both!! And by the way, you can find the Raftmageddon profile picture in Raft Ride ~ The Story So Far, and the header was just the unedited Links Awakening thumbnail.

But as part of returning to regular programming, I had to change the blog's profile picture and banner back to normal...until I realized, well, dang - I haven't exactly ever, had an original banner for the blog!! I set it to The Voice's tower from the CCC to match the CCC's return in December (and to match with the Voice-ified Najimi), but I've long wanted something more...identifiable to the blog. Well, the recent April Fools community post gave me the perfect idea on what to do: It just felt like the perfect fit in using for this blog, building on SiIva's original with my own spin and take on things.

In the place of Weezer's lead singer-songwriter stands Osana Najimi - the character used across all of my other blogs on Tumblr and just generally my favorite little creature of all time. Apologies for not introducing you to them earlier, but if I were to have any sort of "brand", it would (regrettably) be an anime character. Tumblr and Joke-Explainer are pretty self explanatory as, yknow, the two things that gave this blog form! But I chose Antonymh Noelle in particular due to my still-lingering emotional attachment to SING A SONG ABOUT HOPES AND DREAMS. The post I wrote for that rip was sort of when I decided full-stop that I wanted to commit to this silly blog idea - and hey, it even directly mentions Tumblr in the lyrics, and Girelle is still one of the top-ever-reblogged SiIvaGunner posts on here!! It just makes all too much sense.

Osana Najimi's birthday was also just yesterday on April 1st, which I understandably couldn't quite celebrate properly due to some, yknow - circumstances. But I'm doing it right today - Najimi, you're now officially a core pillar of this silly SiIvaGunner Tumblr Blog! Happy birthday!!!

Hi! Here's my two cents on the Sword AF delay. Smosh had a lot going on with both the return of Food Battle and the Funeral Roast liveshow. These projects took up a lot of the time and resources that weren't alotted to regular scheduled programming, and the Funeral Roast liveshow still had te be delayed as well. From originally around halloween to december. So Sword AF, being quite up there in production cost compared to their other new and ongoing series, got put on the backburner.

That being said, Smosh has had a outward communication problem for a few months now. It's not just the Sword AF delay. Whenever the program is going to be different than usual, they don't mention it until literally the moment of, or just not at all. I don't know what's going on there.

As for Damien leaving Smosh, I don't think he will do that, but I can see him scaling back his role there to focus more on other projects. Not to be parasocial, but I'm actially more worried for him burning out, what with how busy he apparently is.

I don't even really mind having to wait, I fully understand scheduling and LITERALLY ANYTHING THAT COULD HAVE GONE WRONG behind the scenes, I just HATE that they waited past the last moment to let us know.

It feels like they don't even care for the people that like their passion projects. I've been seeing a LOT of people complaining about getting so many "filler" shows that get good views (aka the 'normie' crowd)and Smosh leaving all the INCREDIBLE ideas out to dry. (Let's do this!, all the one-off videos like Sniper chess etc.) That they just stop doing videos that don't get views. I fully understand that it's a business, and it needs to make money, otherwise no Smosh, but I feel like the way they are going about it is really awful to watch as a long-time viewer.

I swear to god, if they don't have a good reason for why they had to to say it was delayed to the last possible moment, I'm turning this into a hate blog

a return to goal-setting and logging and blogging

I figured it's time to start using this space more like I did before. A lot has happened in my life since I last posted personal stuff; I've changed my profession, moved back to my hometown, returned to my first and most beloved martial arts school, started Chinese sword training, had a few pleasant encounters with HEMA practicioners, started teaching kung fu again...

I haven't trained as consistently as I'd have liked, and I had some months where I didn't exercise or move or do much of anything, at all. Fortunately, that's behind me now, and I'm back at a state of mind where I feel comfortable setting martial arts related goals again.

Now I know it's important to keep it as specific and measurable and actionable as possible, and I *also* know that it's probably important to not plan too much at once... but ehhhh. I'll just try to be kind to myself and keep the daily actions small and short enough to not overwhelm myself. At the same time I know I need consistency and a plan to achieve those things.

My goals;

(re)learn the Sword Hand Form, so I can perform it fluidly, with intent, in a way that I would be able to teach it to others, by September.

optimize the Leopard Form, so that I can perform it fluidly, with intent and appropriate depth and the character of the animal, by mid August.

get good at deep stances so I can maintain them comfortably for a minute (horse stance, reversed bow stance, empty stance) on each side.

get better with the leopard kick (which is a sneaky one, pretending to go all straight and then at the very last moment turning inward or outward)

get better with the leopard strikes (the circular in the straight, the straight in the circular, as my teacher said)

learn the 3 Principles Sword Form (san cai jian) so that I can perform it correctly, with intent, with body-sword-movement, with a partner, by December.

establish a sword training routine so that it becomes part of my daily life. start with maybe ten minutes a day, keep a checklist with drills to practice nearby, and re-evaluate after two weeks if this actually helps with anything.

pain-free, strong right shoulder, so I can go through 2 x 1.5 hours of sword training or regular kung fu training per week, or so I can get into push-up position, or hold a focus mitt against serious punches and kicks without pain... By stability and mobility exercises on every second day (alternating with leg work)

pain-free, stable left ankle, so I can go through 2 x 1.5 hours of kung fu training on mats per week, including jumping and standing on one leg without falling over or being in pain for days... by stability and mobility exercises on every second day (alternating with shoulder stuff)

improve endurance so I can sprint up one or two flights of stairs without feeling like I might die. I'll probably start with a C25K training program again, and training with stairs would probably help as well. What doesn't help is that I abhor starting this kind of training because it feels so miserable. (That's probably me wanting too much, too soon...)

Yeah. Like I said.. maybe a bit much, but I'll try and figure it out.

Other things, apart from the goals:

On Friday my new sword will be delivered, yay! Getting the shipping notification today made my Monday significantly better. More swords for everyone!

Looking forward to a HEMA introductory workshop on longsword in less than three weeks, with a kung fu sister and two other good friends <3

very much enjoying having a very motivated kung fu sister that matches me in thirst for knowledge and enthusiasm for this art.

My first kung fu teacher and my mom both said that they would like to be present during my next kung fu exam. I don't know yet when that will be, but I feel honored that they want to be there. And it feels kinda fitting, since they were both present at my very first training at this school, 22 years ago. ^_^

After tidying up my room, I now have (hopefully) enough space in my bedroom/living room to practice sword techniques. (Looking at you, ceiling lamp... Stay where you are!)

Okay, that's it for now. Off to actually train now :D

Navigating Clu’s moods was difficult, but Rinzler had finished in the Games and delaying his return would get them nowhere, there were reports to give, things to be done. He just needed to deal with it and hope for the best.

[You requested me?] -Not a great opening line, but it wouldn’t do him well to stand by the door and wait to be noticed.

Clu's moods were always hard to navigate. The Luminary had a short fuse that came with the stress of running the entire system. His lack of regular sleep did not help. He got sleep when he could. He knew it wasn't healthy but there was simply too much for one program to do. He was one disaster away from a complete meltdown at any given nano.

He knew the programs around him regularly knew it. Knew it was not conducive to developing a healthy working environment. But again, he had too much on his plate on any given cycle. The idea had been to delegate some of that to Generals and Captains. Since Clu could not be in multiple places at once.

It had helped, for the most part. He could focus instead on his other task list rather than rushing here there and everywhere to fix someone's problem they could have solved themselves. The Administrator's life was a smidge easier.

It was a start.
