How would rank the Persona protagonists in terms of magic prowess?
Please note that this list only goes with main game protagonists plus Kotone. P5X isn't on here since I haven't started that game and know next to nothing about it. This is also based on my own personal opinions, so keep that in mind too. If anyone has a different list, I'd like to see it.
Also, please keep in mind that all of them are powerful in their own ways -- and in terms of magic prowess, eventually gain the strength they need. That's all. Onto the list!
7. Maya Amano
Maya's a pretty tough gal, and I love her to bits but unfortunately, she's at the bottom of this list. Sorry, Maya fans.
A lot of what she does is through sheer will power and stubborness, which has nothing to do with magic prowess. I have yet to write out Eternal Punishment or get a good idea about it, so that might change. Who knows?
But yeah, unlike the others, she really has no added ability or skills that put her higher on the list. If anything, it's more physical prowess for her than magic.
6. Minato Arisato
It was hard to rank Minato and Kotone, as the two are pretty much equal terms when it comes to magical prowess by the end of P3. In the end, Minato's a few points below Kotone for good reason, despite a lot of stuff that happens in P3.
Yes, Minato did manage to summon his weapon first months before Kotone did. However, that's not due to magical prowess. Elizabeth and later Yu in P4 describe the act as an ability a witch with a strong enough heart can achieve. Basically, he was able to do this because he overcame a personal and internal struggle of his during the June Full Moon.
There's also the case of Minato's sigil, which protects him from the Full Moon Shadows and being possessed by Death. That's all it does, though. He's not invincible against all Shadows, and the Full Moon Shadows still had an effect on him. Not as severe as it did with the others, but it still had an effect.
The major reason Minato is below Kotone, though, has to do with the fact that he suppressed his magic for about a decade. That is why he's at the spot he is on this list. Sure, he had some extra help in catching up, but that only got him to where Kotone was in the end. It's going to take a lot more work, and not learning magic when he was younger did take a bit of a toll on his magical prowess in the end.
So don't be like Minato and bottle shit up.
5. Kotone Shiomi
As stated previously, Minato and Kotone are sort of equal in terms of magical prowess by the end of P3, so it was hard to rank them.
Kotone only gets put into the spot above Minato due to her being able to cast healing spells. Those spells are incredibly difficult to learn and takes years of training and study to be able to use them to their full extent (i.e. that diarahan). So that earns her some points above Minato.
4. Yu Narukami
Yu ranks higher above Minato and Kotone due to his precognitive ability. He's able to see into the future within this universe, though he isn't always sure of the whole picture which is why he's not any higher.
He wasn't generally using his magic freely like some others, but he still learned and practiced what he was taught. Though, this is primarily because Yu easily loses control of his magic when his emotions run awry, which was often when he was younger. No one likes getting electrocuted or a sudden static shock.
3. Tatsuya Suou
So there's a reason that Tatsuya is high on this list. Two reasons, actually.
The first is that sort of parallel to Yu's precognitive ability, Tatsuya possesses as retrocognitive ability. He can see the past history of an object if he touches it. He's got more control over this than Yu does with his, hence why he's a spot higher.
The MnM!Tatsuya is also technically two people in one. He's both the Other Side and This Side Tatsuya, since the former doesn't vanish in this AU. Tatsuya was strong enough to create a loophole in Philemon's deal, which lead to him recovering his memories alone. The memories of the Other Side helps in terms of magical prowess.
2. Naoya Toudou
...I have my reasons for this, I swear that I do. First, there's an ability that Naoya possesses that doesn't really come into play until P5 canonically, but this is an AU and I do what I want. So Naoya has the Third Eye ability from P5. The Third Eye ability is also an inherited one, so Naoya passes it down to Ren. That's primarily what helps him get so far up the list.
And yes, Third Eye still exists in this AU, I'll probably talk more about it later but it's what helps him get so high up compared to others.
He's also a self-imposed alchemical genius, which helps as well. He's noted for making his own healing potions at the like since he was young. Though, this is primarily due to Kazuya's death. If someone gets gravely hurt, he wants to be prepared to step in when need be.
It should be noted that Naoya's the only one on this list and out of every witch in the series thus far to have changed their affinity. He was originally Wind, but then changed to Fire towards the end of P1.
1. Ren Amamiya
Ren being the strongest out of the seven of them primarily comes down to his title and role as 'Trickster'. That's just about it.
He's also studied magic heavily since he was a little kid, which lead to him having a bit more training when it came to honing his prowess.
The latter also leads to him having more 'tricks' up his sleeve so to speak. Out of most of the protagonists, he has a wide range of spells from his extensive studies.
Also possesses the Third Eye ability like his father, which just adds to that.
...you'll see a good example of his power when we get there.

@peachmuses: it's about a week after shuu and mako got into it, and kazuya and tatsuya had all but dragged shuuzou to makotos place, and left him there. he doesn't want to talk to him! he doesn't want to talk to anyone! let him be alone. he's good at it ! but noooooo, neither one is any good at listening and when faced with makoto, shuuzou broke down. it's now around 3 am, and shuuzou still hasn't fallen asleep. " ako-chan? " softly, quiet into the dark of the room. it's a new moon / and no light comes through the window. shuuzous fists clench at his sides, under the covers. makoto makes a noise and shuuzou's eyes focus on the ceiling. " I'm scared. " admitted softly into the night. " there's--- everything. and I'm so overwhelmed. " a boyfriend who won't let him break up with him, a boyfriend who shuuzou knows is textbook abusive but feels familiar anyways and really, doesnt he deserve it school, club, job, trying to keep up with his friends, kazuya, his family. " everything, " he's half choked up and trying to get words out, " everything is changing and I hate it. I hate it I hate it i hate it. " breathing picks up, and tears begin to roll down his face silently. " i don't- I don't want you to leave me too. I- I'm sorry. I just want to go back to when things made sense and I felt in control of things and not this roller-coaster i can't seem to get off of no matter how much I try or scream. I'm so - " a hiccup, " im so tired of myself. "
makoto is alone -- was alone / used to it. also used to someone, usually shuuzou ( a person of which is isn't speaking to currently ), breaking into his house / sometimes kazuya / tatsuya uses the spare key -- his own mother comes home at weird and random hours -- all of which has lead to him growing numb to question the sound of anyone even coming in. ( briefly, makoto thinks every now and again, if someone else ever broke into his house, he'd be fucked. ) this time it's his friends, barging in at one of the worst hours / as makoto lies there in bed wishing everything could stop happening / that he could get off of this shitshow roller coaster and just go to sleep instead of rethinking and overthinking the argument with his best friend.
tatsuya had said that it wasn't his fault day after day, and each time, makoto said that he knew it, logically speaking, but that didn't change the fact that it didn't feel like that was the case. shuuzou, after all, had said that he didn't need him and something inside of makoto broke into four million pieces while he waited for a slamming door that never came. this, he thinks, is a testament to his relationship with shuuzou -- how one thing happens and other things, in turn, also happen, and shuuzou's walking out of his life and makoto can't do anything about it. he is so tired of shuuzou leaving him behind. ( tired of the way shuuzou used to leave his house to go back to his own hell. tired of the way they grew up together just for shuuzou to leave him to go to a different middle school ( that much was a deal, but it was shuuzou's idea, not makoto's. ) tired of the way shuuzou jumped ship and vanished to another country, another continent without so much as giving him a single warning. ) when shuuzou runs away, he is always silent about it / there, then gone, much like a ghost. when he went inside to grab his things just to run away from his own house, it's silent and unfinished like a drafted chapter.
shuuzou said that he didn't need makoto. makoto knows that he's always needed his friend more than his friend needed him. he cried that day and has been feeling himself decay since. ( it doesn't help that the others left, too. tatsuya to go back to akita / he's responsible / he can't just shirk his responsibilities at yosen. kazuya left, presumably to fine shuuzou / makoto hadn't seen him since. )
makoto, however, unlike his boyfriend, has been ignoring his duties, skipping school under the claim of being sick, letting seto take care of the team in his absence. after his fight with shuuzou / he just couldn't / completely shutting down after he'd finally gotten home that day.
and yet. and yet / and yet / and yet / his home is being broken into while makoto can't think -- the door to his bedroom is forced open and kazuya's throwing a wayward shuuzou into his room before pulling it closed and makoto only watches as shuuzou tries for the door only for it to not open. kazuya's doing, no doubt. shuuzou then tries for the window / makoto watches the way shuuzou moves away from it like there's something stopping him for leaving from there, too, before the other deflates in defeat and all makoto can do is stare. why are things like this?
finally, eventually, shuuzou speaks and makoto slowly turns his attention towards his childhood best friend as the other admits to being scared and makoto can feel himself frowning before he knows it. he hates everything about this. best friend cries and makoto is beside himself with guilt. ( his fault / his fault / his fault. ) " shuu... "
makoto shifts, turning over to first face shuuzou, then moves again as he crawls in top of him much like shuuzou tends to do when he's trying to wake him up because he wants attention. " i'm sorry, " it's honest and soft, frown deepening as he again tells himself to get his shit together. " i-- " he's stupid and he needs his best friend, actually. he's hurting enough as is and he doesn't need shuuzou staying away from him. there's enough going on behind the scenes. " i'm sorry, shuu, i went too far, i shouldn't have said what i said. " to go that far over weed was completely incomprehensible, but shuuzou called makoto a bitch and makoto responded with saying some of the worst things that came to mind, none of which were related to the original topic at hand. " i just-- "
he's just got a lot on his plate and he's not like shuuzou. makoto breaks internally before there's something cracking and falling apart inside of him, causing him to implode before he implodes. he's just as much a coil twisted too tightly as he is a shitshow and when the coil gives and snaps, makoto breaks from the inside out. he can't help it. he's shit at dealing with himself.
makoto's tired of himself, too.
" i'm tired, " he admits willingly. " i'm stressed out and tired and sad and angry and-- " his throat tightens and he blinks away the urge to cry because this really isn't about him, but it is, even if it's not and makoto has to explain his actions to be understood. " i'd been on my best behavior for months now and you questioning me indulging one tiny thing felt like you saying i couldn't. " and really, it was just weed. it could have been so much worse. " i didn't like it when you blamed tatsuya because i'm capable of making my own decisions and at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if he influenced me or not. " tatsuya is his boyfriend, shuuzou, he's been trying to say it for a while now. " and-- "
breath hitches and he again feels like he's watching himself slowly shatter as tears begin rolling down his face as well. " i just sit here and watch things happen that i can't do anything about because everything's either out of my power or no one listens to me anymore and i hate it. i-- i keep feeling like you're pushing me out and picking tatsu and zuya over me, like i'm some sort of chore. " makoto's sat back and watched kazuya slowly become more and more important to shuuzou, more so than him and tatsuya / differently than him. he's had to come to terms with knowing that shuuzou replaced him in america with tatsuya / that tatsuya came to japan and shuuzou came back a different person with a different best friend and there's no space for him. makoto hates change. " like you care more about the both of them more than you do me as if i wasn't you best friend first. like that didn't mean something -- like it never did. "
shuuzou came to makoto. not the other way around.
he chokes back his tears, wiping them away with his wrist as he sniffles. he's so sick of crying, actually. " because you replaced me with tatsuya, and then kazuya, and now i don't know where i stand or why you keep clinging onto the past as if we're the same as we used to be. i'm not the same. you're not the same. i know that, and i hate it, but it is what it is, so i accepted it, but you keep acting like you want to put me into some box -- like you don't want me to grow. "
and it's suffocating and makoto hates it and he hates that he has to say any of this anyway.
" and mom was pregnant-- " makoto's largest stressor, truly. " she was almost three months, shuu. " he pauses, heaving in a large gulp of air. " or she would have been, but something happened, and she just told me like two weeks ago-- i knew she was and just when i came to terms with that, she lost it and i didn't -- don't -- know what to do or say or think and i've just been keeping it to myself because she didn't want you guys to know since she didn't want to worry you and it's just been slowly killing me and i took everything out on you and i'm sorry. "

Something just occurred to me about the Imperial Scholars at Ostania's Eden Academy. They're called Imperial Scholars. As in, symbolically connected to an emperor or empire.
Ostania and Westalis are loosely analogous to East and West Germany. They're two similar countries on opposite sides of a great cold war, Ostania has undertones of communism in its propaganda, Westalis seems to be capitalistic, the maps we see put the two countries in a Germany-looking region, and they have "east" and "west" in their names.
I mention this obvious fact because East Germany destroyed its symbolic attachment to Prussian aristocracy and the Kaiser, trying to build a separate national identity out of the lower classes of German history. And a big part of this was the very same ideology that Ostania echoes, the idea that people should be treated equally and not privileged because of birth or wealth.
Now, obviously Ostania doesn't live up to that ideal. There's massive wealth disparity in both east and west, and Eden Academy is both evidence of this and helps perpetuate it across generations. It's a school for heirs of the rich and powerful, plus a few promising peasants.
But countries like East Germany try to pretend that these trends don't happen, that progeny of powerful Party members or what-have-you only get prominent political positions because they're the best for the job. (Good thing we capitalist countries don't have anything like that?) It's remarkable that Ostania is nominally egalitarian, but still promotes its imperial past like that.
There's always Occam's Razor, the "curtains are blue" argument. Maybe Tatsuya Endo just didn't put that much thought into the ideology of Ostania. And yeah, we don't see much evidence that Endo put as much thought into the ideology or history of Ostania as the characters inhabiting Berlint or the effects of the recent war.
But that feels like a lazy answer. What other answers could there be?
East Germany is not the only country to steep its propaganda in Marxist language. The USSR and PRC both tried to cut ties with their imperial pasts like East Germany. North Korea, not so much. North Korean Juche is a syncretic belief system combining elements of Confucianism, Christianity, Cheondoism (a modern Korean religion), and Mao's strain of Marxist-Leninism. Juche is a communist ideology that emphasizes the individual and the nation-state. I don't think I understand how it works, how all of this oil and water blends into one worldview, but I don't have to.
Juche developed under unusual circumstances. North Korea had to remain Communist for political reasons, but also had to legitimize the Kim dynasty's rule over Korea. That's how you get a people's republic ruled by a de facto god-king. (Half a century of isolation and propaganda don't hurt.)
What kind of pressure could make Ostania both emphasize its supposed egalitarian nature and celebrate its inegalitarian past? It probably isn't influence from a powerful ally like the USSR; by all indications, Ostania is at least a B-tier world power. And it probably isn't trying to justify any particular dynasty remaining in power; while there are Imperial Scholars, there's been no mention of an emperor. So it's kinda like the opposite of Juche? Maybe?
I feel like the back half of this post has just been me spinning my wheels, trying to think of a reason for Ostania to promote both superficial egalitarianism and bald-faced imperialism. Even with the irrelevant cul-de-sac digressions removed, it feels bloated yet barren.
I hope someone seeing this stuff from a different perspective can come up with an interesting idea, because mine clearly isn't working.

sociieties asked: it was some optional field trip, one get on a saturday for kirisaki daiichi, one of which makoto nor kazuya agreed to go on, but they show up anyway, completely late and after the fact. still, the two of them go and grab tatsuya and shuuzou and bring them to the event center, making it there just as the people from kirisaki are leaving and kazuya pays none of them mind. when they’re inside, kazuya leads the way to some back room, tells them to wait, walks out, then comes back in about two minutes later. he walks straight over to the piano and sits down, playing. ( chopin - nocturne op 9. no 2. ) he ignores the way theres other people beginning to walk into the room, aware that the attention is naturally on him ( people come in / stop near the doorway instead of passing by, it happens. )
“ you play that with a lot of passion, ” makoto says, breath caught in his throat before he forces himself to look away. when… did so many other people show up? it’s all just stragglers, but still. kazuya shakes his head, eye moving from piano to friends, he ignores everyone else. “ the problem is i play with too much passion. ”
“ i was going to sign up for osaka chamber, ” he continues softly, looking back down at keys. it’s october, the last day to sign up was yesterday, but the competition isn’t until may. “ yesterday was the deadline, but with everything that’s been happening, ” he looks towards shuu, gaze easily drifts away, “ changed my mind. it would have been the first competition in years, though. ”
look - they knew about the field trip, and so tatsuya and shuuzou are in the apartment, watching some murder mystery that tatsuya's gotten into lately, when the door opens and tatsuya and shuuzou share a look of confusion before they peek gaze over back of the couch to see kazuya and makoto. both tilting their head, before they're dragged out of the apartment and to the event center where kazuya flashes his id and they're both confused. again, tatsuya and shuuzou look at each other -- but they follow dutifully behind. tatsuya steps in line with makoto as shuuzou brings up the end of the group, " do you know what's going on ? " he whispers to boyfriend - making sure to keep kazuya in line of sight until they're lead to some room, told to wait, and shuuzou, shrugging, because he's decided that kazuya probably knows best, goes to sit down on some chair while tatsuya moves towards his boyfriend, and pulls him to sit next to shuu as well. kazuya re-enters, and sits at the piano and starts to play - and shuuzou's breath is caught in his throat. he has no idea what kazuya is playing, but it's pretty and maybe he actually needs to understand music more. he hadn't known this side to kazuya at all -- and he's enthralled by the piece and the way that the light reflects off of his head. shuuzou knows enough to know that there is no sheet music and kazuya is playing this off the top of his head -- and he's impressed. " isn't music suppose to be filled with passion ? " shuuzou says in response to kazuya's 'i play with too much passion', and tatsuya's gaze slides from kazuya to shuuzou, as he watches best friend for a moment. he's still bruised and looks rough but he's leaning forward in his chair, attention focused soley on kazuya, and he remembers, being told a few days ago that kazuya had murdered haizaki. ( which, good. tatsuya hated the rat bastard anyways. ) shuuzou frowns as kazuya continues to talk while he plays -- and feels gaze on him, and he flicks his gaze downwards / annoyance eating at him slightly. it's his fault, kazuya didn't sign up. " you should have signed up, " he says gently / firmly, ignoring everyone else. " you play beautifully. " tatsuya nods, along with best friends words. " you do, " tatsu says -- understanding that more than just the whole 'shuu in the hospital' sent kazuya down / but knowing that his best friend doesn't / and won't, if kazuya has anything to say about it. that's a secret that him, makoto, and kazuya will share that shuuzou will never know. shuuzou hadn't even known that kazuya had played piano - or anything else, for that matter -- and yet, it's almost like seeing a perfect game being played in front of him / it's not something that shuu wants to look away from. " sign up for the next comp. "

what do we think about tatsujun fix-it au? what would you fix?
OMG!!!!! Thank you for being my first anon!!!! I'm so happy I could cry.
This is a tough one! I'm not too familiar with fix-it aus, but I will do my best to answer it as well as I can > . < If I misunderstand the concept, please let me know!
To be fully honest, I don't think there is anything I can say I would actually want to fix about tatsujun. There are things to criticize the games on of course, but I can't lie. I adore everything about them. I don't really have any good ideas that would objectively improve their story. Keep in mind this comes with a very heavy bias, I am hardwired at this point to see anything even mildly related to tatsujun and go "oh my gosh...", so of course tatsujun itself would have me rendered speechless and unable to think critically about their story.
But, I'll do my best anyways (๑>ᴗ<๑)
The only thing I'd really want to see fixed with tatsujun is a happy ending for the both of them. It's a bit bitter, seeing them suffer so much just to end up broken or empty on the inside. All their hard work and dedication towards one another for naught. But even that's so appealing on it's own, I can't say it was a bad decision on the developer's end. Winning a happy ending by the skin of their teeth, sacrificing everything to protect big sis just as they promised as children... Gosh, there's so much to love there too. So please don't mistake me saying all of this as a dislike for the canon ending.
However, of course, I want to see them happy. There are so many ways to go about it too... I truly think I could talk about it forever. Tatsujun happy endings are my favorite. I can't help it, I'm a fluff lover at heart. Especially tatsujun domestic fluff... So I'm constantly thinking of ways they could earn that happy home together.
To start off basic, there's always finding each other post canon. Without the freedom being children granted them, burdened by the woes of adult life... It'd be an interesting mirror of their canonical selves. Whether they meet early in college, or end up falling in love in their 30s/40s, I think it'd be beautiful either way! A perfect stranger, someone they feel this odd connection and comfort with that cannot be explained. Anemoia...
But, if we are getting really crazy and self indulgent, I think them working together in Eternal Punishment's story could be cute. Tatsuya and Jun promised they would protect Maya together.
I don't think Tatsuya would be one to reach out, he has so many regrets and is still traumatized from everything that happened... However, Jun being more active instead of passive could work! I won't lie, I love that Kashihara gets to just be an innocent kid watching from the sidelines, unlike Kurosu who was put through the ringer. I just want Jun to be happy. But, it does also fit him to be more proactive too. Just like how he got into the Joker situation by trying so hard to make people take his dad's theories seriously... Good intentions getting him into a mess once again... Ahh, I'm weak.
After the aerospace museum... So many questions, too few answers, a lighter that he knows doesn't belong to him now burning a hole in his pocket, and an overwhelming sensation that there is something he must do... His only option is to chase down the deja vu boy and demand answers. The two of them getting to protect Maya together like they promised... Jun getting revenge on Nyarlathotep, who had taken everything from him. Mama, Papa, Tatsuya, Maya... And, perhaps most importantly, repenting for their sins together.
Jun said he wasn't leaving Tatsuya's side, after all. I doubt he'd let Tatsuya talk him into leaving him by himself. Tatsuya's loneliness brought him back from the brink of erasure, there's no way he'd let him isolate himself again! Mirroring the ending, Maya getting the option to either cling to them one last time, or let them go... Tatsuya and Jun confident that Maya has grown into a strong woman who can take care of herself, getting the chance to finally protect each other. And of course, living a happy life together on the other side.
I don't know if this is exactly good enough to "fix" canon, but it's a fun au to think about! Lots of plot holes and character themes being thrown out for some tatsujun goodness, but I tried my best. Perhaps I'll come back to this someday with some better ideas. No promises though! I'm such a perfectionist, it could take me weeks of brainstorming to come up with something I'd consider even remotely passable.
Once again, thank you so so so much for the ask!! I'm so incredibly happy to know you liked my headcanons enough to want to hear my thoughts on more tatsujun. I'm always happy to ramble about them, so if you're reading this feel free to drop a suggestion in my inbox! AUs, headcanon topics, ect are all welcome!

I always love analyzing character interactions and relationships of the media I consume and I want to talk about Maya really quickly, because not only do I like her as a character. I feel that sometime EP gets a bit of hate because of her and the direction the story went.
So here are the short non spoilery thoughts.
When it comes to EP, I rather not ship Maya with anyone. I like her alone and think she is a good character and comes a long enough way to really not need anyone romantically (for now.)
Katsuya and Maya- I am fine with this. There is proof in the story that supports this. Sadly one sided though.
Ulala and Maya- I really wanted this to work so much. But just how Ulala treated Maya in the beginning. I really do not have tolerance for that despite her confronting that.
Tatsuya and Maya-Uncomfortable because of where they are in different stages of their lives. I am going to make the argument this is one sided too.
Baofu, Ellen or Nate and Maya- The story really doesn’t talk about it, but I guess if you try hard enough it could work.
Now the spoilery thoughts
Katsuya and Maya
I feel so bad for Katsuya. Like, he is actually in love with Maya. This is canon. His shadow called him out on it in front of everyone. But he kind of just gave it up because he assumed she didn’t love him back and thought Tatsuya and Maya were a thing.
I didn’t like Katsuya in Innocent Sin, but he grew on me so much. And I just wish he could be happy.
Ulala and Maya
As someone who had a friend do things behind my back out of jealousy for pretty much the same reasons Ulala did, I really can’t forgive  Ulala for her actions. I like Ulala as a character. I really do. But I just can’t forgive her for that and I would find her relationship with Maya toxic if it became romantic. Like you literally tried to kill your best friend. I don’t care if you were drunk and you confronted your shadow about it. It is still upsetting.
Interestingly, my favorite ship in EP hands down is Baofu and Ulala. But I guess that’s because they remind me of the bickering couple. Off topic I was really happy they at least became partners.
Tatsuya and Maya.
Ok. Here we go...
Eternal Punishment is... interesting when it comes to this dynamic. When Tatsuya joins your party, the game makes absolutely sure that you are aware of the age difference between Tatsuya and the rest. Baofu frequently calls him a child. Tatsuya asks what it is like to be an adult. Ellen/Eriko feels uncomfortable when the rest of the cast brings him to a bar because he is underage.
But in the same breath, every single main character seems to want to push Tatsuya and Maya together. Like even Baofu AND Ellen...
Tatsuya cares about Maya. He is going through a lot in EP. He is still getting over the fact that Eikichi, Lisa and especially Jun will never remember him. At least for Eikichi and Lisa, there is a chance, but Jun? No. He will never remember him. And what is worse is that if you apparently pick the decision to have Eikichi and Lisa remember, they can’t tell Jun or the finally lock is broken and the world gets destroyed. Which means the whole IS cast remembers what happens except Jun.
But let me go back to Tatsuya for a second. So he lost Jun and his other friends. Maya and him are the only ones who have been through both events of EP and IS.
I think he is still not sure how to sort his feelings out, but he knows that Maya is the only one who kind of has an idea what he is going through.
Tatsuya wants to be an adult so badly in EP. He wants to be equals with the rest of the EP cast. So, I think he does the most adult thing he can think of at the end (let’s not talk about the drama CD for a second)  he kisses her.  (again depending on what option you choose.) Notice he kisses her and not her him, which would have been very uncomfortable.
Also he knocks her out!? That bothered me 10x more. Like come on. Really?
Is Tatsuya in love romantically with Maya? ....Possibly. But I still think it is puppy love than anything else.
But now let’s look at Maya. Everyone seems to keep pushing Tatsuya and Maya together for some reason, but Maya is very uncomfortable about it. She won’t even participate in demon negotiations with Tatsuya. When Ulala jokes about marriage with Tatsuya she tries to change the subject. She cares for him, but doesn’t really seem to like how the other cast is pushing them together in that way.
And in the end, she could have stopped “this side” Tatsuya who literally has no idea who she is. But she doesn’t. She walks past him and moves on (literally) with her own life. I think that decision alone made me like Maya a lot more.
I have said this so many times, but I love EP so much. And if you are a Tatsujun fan,  yeah EP can really suck. But it is still a great story.
I don’t feel comfortable about Tatsuya and Maya relationship for personal reasons too. I have a friend who was in a similar relationship dynamic and it was just not good.
If they met again 10 years later. Sure? Especially since “This side” Tatsuya doesn’t have that previous connection to Maya. But otherwise no.
And I have heard both sides of the argument. And constantly told that Tatsuya is 18, therefore an adult. But being an adult in Japan is 20....
I want Tatsuya and Maya to be close as friends. (although sadly that probably won’t happen either...)
If you like TatsuMaya will I put a curse on your first born child or block you? No. But it’s just not my preferred ship.
Now...Yukki and Maya. We can make that work....

momoi shifts , carefully drinking her bubble tea. today , she was waiting on sakurai to show up for their bi-weekly shopping trip and had seen kagami out of the side of her eye so of course, she had to say hi! leaning back in her chair , she gets a flash of lunch with aomine wondering about fate. " hey , kagamin, " she starts, " do you believe in fate ? " / from momoi <3
@peachmuses
kagami is watching a tall girl across the mall cafeteria demonstrate, without a ball, how to shoot a basketball. he assumes it's a basketball. she's laughing as her friends have a go, none of them caring that they're in public and everybody could see them. one friend says something as she puts her wrists together, it looks like she's talking about volleyball or something. he wonders what it's like to have friends with different hobbies. he hasn't given it much thought since finding a love for basketball, but he'd still be a loner if not for that. not everyone is as out-going and friendly as tatsuya used to be. the girls sit down at their table again, and he loses interest. he wonders, briefly as the thought is soon interrupted, whether putting all his chips into basketball is the right idea. maybe he should join a cooking class or... run a cooking class ( inspired by present company ).
“kagamin,” he repeats with a grumble as she continues speaking, more to himself than to her. what is it with these people and giving out nicknames like it’s christmas! all these generation of miracles do it, just about. it’s so annoying! kagamin, kagamicchi, bakagami, even! will they ever stop?
but this thought, too, is interrupted before he can make a scene with it. kagami’s got an expressive face, and every emotion sparked by the random question is displayed clear as day. surprise: raised eyebrows, opening mouth as if to speak but with nothing yet to say; incredulousness: squinting eyes, now a frown; contemplative: downturned lips tightened into a line, averting his gaze. does he? why the hell is she even asking? without having given it much thought, he sighs.
Tumblr media
“where the hell did that come from?”
“nowhere,” she smiles, then taps her chin with her index finger, “it’s just, dai--- aomine-kun brought it up the other day, and i haven’t gotten it out of my mind.”
“dai-chan brought it up?” kagami deadpans, “no way did that idiot come up with a thing like that.”
“oh, but he did! he’s impulsive, which sometimes comes across as inconsiderate or inattentive, yes, but he thinks about these things a lot.”
“what did he say?” he sits back in his seat, careful not to kick her. kagami folds his arms across his chest.
momoi lowers her drink and hides behind her hand, suddenly acting all embarrassed. “maybe i shouldn’t say!”
“now you have to, saying a thing like that! i won’t tell anyone.”
“he said-- he said!” she’s playing up her embarrassment, right? there’s nothing dai---- aomine could have said that would make her go all... gooey... right? unless-- he didn’t confess to her or anything? no...
“momoi,” he grumbles, “come on.”
Tumblr media
“very well!” she sets her drink directly in-front of her on the table, frowning seriously. her hands grip the edge for a moment before lacing together. when she looks up at him, her eyes are cold and calculating -- but gentle. “i trust you, so i’ll tell you. aomine-kun believes that it’s fate that you met.”
here comes the incredulousness again. it distorts his face into a squinting grimace. “he didn’t say that.”
“he did.”
“about me?”
“about you,” her hands release and then fold again.
ah. his cheeks are the first to betray him. in fact, his blush is currently his only reaction, besides downturned lips. does he have any thoughts right now? kagami is short-circuiting. momoi’s eyes are putting him off, so he stares out the window finds nothing easier to look at there. fate, huh? fate. alright. he’s got to say something. or leave. fate. stupid idiot aomine said he thinks it’s fate that they met? what the fuck? what the fuck! alright. alright. alright! alright? alright. alright! that’s a song, right? an american song or something, it’s in english at least. there’s a hook he’s got stuck in his mind now. it’s something else to think about, anyway. alright, now fellas! what’s cooler than being---
“please don’t be upset with aomine-kun,” she says quietly, “or bring it up. he’ll only deny it.”
“no-- no, i--” he sits forward, “i’m not upset. i told you i wasn’t gonna tell anyone so i won’t. he really said that about me? specifically?”
“yes! how you met us at exactly the right point in time, how you happened to join tetsu-kun’s team, the best you could have met first. wouldn’t things be different if you had joined some other team?”
“this is a lot to think about,” he rubs his temple, “you mean aomine thinks like this all the time?”
“well, not all the time,” she reaches into her bag to bring out her pink phone, and replies to a text as she speaks, “but he does talk about you a lot.”
“me? what’s he say?”
“mmm,” she looks around the room searchingly, tentatively standing. no, don’t leave now! what kind of fate is this?! in his desperation at the fleeting moment of opportunity, kagami also stands. as he does, he notices a guy a full head and shoulders taller than most other people around them. speak of the devil! somehow, seeing aomine’s frown dissipate into a smile ( even if that does turn into a smirk ) makes everything worse for once. “oh! what’s he doing here? i guess i’ll see you around, kagamin!”
“huh?!” he feels like he’s being left behind, and stands helplessly as she runs over and greets her friends. sakurai says something, momoi says something, and aomine walks straight passed them. kagami stands straighter, shuts his gaping mouth, and returns to that downturned look of embarrassment.
“oho, what did she say to you?” he’s smirking, but he’d probably just leave if he knew the truth! kagami’s resolved to not say it, of course, but it’s too much to look at him right now! kagami picks up his backpack and pulls it over one shoulder. when aomine repeats his question, it’s with a touch of horror in his voice. “what did she say to you?”
“nothing!” kagami blurts, “nothing. you--- uh, you’re not hanging out with them today?”
Tumblr media
“maybe i will,” aomine takes a step away, like sand through fingers, “you’re being weird.”
“uh-- yeah,” his brain is in overdrive right now. “i am? sorry.”
“look, half what she says is bullshit to get a rise outta you. i know it doesn’t look like it, but she likes pushing people’s buttons too.”
“no, no-- i don’t think it was like that.”
“okay,” he turns and starts off in the direction of the others. he must have been able to sense that kagami was off ( no, you fucking dumbass, it’s literally so obvious that you’re uncomfortable and don’t know up from down. cute to think you were being subtle though ? ).
Tumblr media
well, that’s no good! if aomine leaves now, kagami doesn’t know how long it will be until he can face him again! better to conquer the fears and awkwardness and butterflies -- however the fuck he’s feeling right now -- and grab the bull by its horns! or, in this case, to catch up and throw his arm around aomine’s shoulders, steering him away.
“no way, you think you can get outta playing a one-on-one with me?” kagami’s trying to be normal, but aomine’s scrutinising glare is a lot to deal with. he gives his best toothy smile, and gets shrugged off but not in the don’t touch me, you weirdo kind of way. hopefully?
“maybe losing will knock some sense into you,” aomine grumbles. “wait, you don’t even have a basketball?”
“uh,” yep, hadn’t thought of that. “i could just buy one-- ?”
“nah, let’s go to the arcade and i’ll whop your ass in there.”
kagami does his best to bury the whole fate concept, which has clearly done little else but freak him out, as they make their way to the arcade. he doesn’t have it in him to talk shit, though, so there’s no reply to that last comment. kagami isn’t sure if he believes in fate, but it’s weird knowing someone else thinks that about him. he’s got butterflies he can’t shake, and he finds himself fighting the urge to reach out and touch him. like that would help anything! instead, he balls up his fists and shoves them into his hoodie pockets. just as he can feel a frown forming, he glances at aomine and notices the familiar red hoodie. kagami’s red hoodie. just as kagami is wearing one of aomine’s. what. that’s--- that’s kind of funny, actually. they could just swap back right now, and that would probably be the normal thing to do, but it looks so good on aomine. kagami’s smiling before he can do anything about it.
Tumblr media
“what the fuck are you looking at?” aomine’s alarmed when he spots the change, and instead of sounding insulting or argumentative, his question just sounds surprised.
“nothing, dumbass!” kagami elbows him, giving in just a little. aomine hits him straight back, even as kagami’s continuing. “that’s my hoodie, is all.”
“yeah, so what? you’re wearing mine.”
“you think i don’t know that?”
“you ain’t getting it back, pal,” aomine looks away again, with the excuse of looking around the arcade as they walk inside.
finally, kagami pulls his eyes away. what is it aomine talks about when kagami isn’t around? is it his cooking? his basketball? what does he think of him? usually, kagami doesn’t care-- or at least, he pretends not to. and he cares a little bit about how aomine feels about him... naturally, his eyes settle on the basketball hoops in the corner and he grabs aomine’s arm to drag him over. aomine shrugs him off again.
“what the-- oh kagami,” it’s a groan, but aomine’s smiling. “you just can’t help yourself, can you?”
“loser buys the next game!”
“better get your money ready, bakagami.”
Tumblr media
“like hell i will!”
he isn’t thinking about it anymore, but maybe it’s fate that kagami noticed that they’re wearing each other’s hoodies at such a crucial moment. it frees him up, somehow, to enter the present. soon enough, fate is completely out of his head, and he’s playing the hoop shooting game backwards because the two of them can’t help but show off. then they’ll play racing, kagami pays, and a platform game, and then kagami’s talking about the arcade he used to go to as a little kid with tatsuya. then they’re talking about something else. something else. nothing and everything. maybe it’s fate that he wasn’t carrying a basketball today, so that they could have whatever today had turned into.

Ohhh 👀 anything behind the thought process for Sunlight, Primrose or Tsuyu?!
Those fics grabbed me by the throat and have me in a chokehold specially how did you decide to have Goro meet/befriend/start relating with Jun (and Tatsuya)!
That combination is sooo good and had me going " OP YOUR MIND *chefs kisses*" for months
But the whole cult thing/Tatsuya lost in his life going in Tsuyu and Jun changin between this side and the other side Jun in Primsore are interesting too!
Whichever you pick is fine ❤
Aw!!! I'm so glad they grabbed you by the throat, hahaha!!!! That's such a compliment omg!!! Thank you!!!!
So, since I'm here, why not talk about the three of them?
For Sunlight, oh man, now that's a fic that takes a lot of research. The updates are slow, between other reasons, because of that! It takes a while to check who's who, how they talk, how they act, etc, and then revising to make sure I'm as in character as I can be, keeping in mind the progression of years between canon and sunlight's canon. I have a whole ass lore bible, actually!!
As for the Jun and Goro relation... My decision was influenced by many things at the same time, but one of them was the contrast between the way the narrative of both games portrays what is, essentially, the foil to the protagonist. The other was, with the removal of Akira as Jun's child that is usual in these crossovers, and making Jun be childfree, how would he interact with younger persona users? He doesn't have a particular soft spot for any of them. He doesn't care as a father, so how does he care? I decided to make every character in sunlight, essentially, the protagonist to their own narratives. Everyone has a life outside of what's happening, has personal trauma, relationships, and stuff that doesn't concern Goro or Akira.
Jun and Goro are protagonists of their own narratives, foils to protagonists of their canon narratives, and both are secondary characters in the other's story in sunlight. So, their conflict and relationship reflects that!
As for Tatsuya and Goro, we'll see more of Tatsuya and the thing he's desperately nervous about eventually!
As for Tsuyu, I was like, shakes head in disappointment "how come there's no mafia au in here???" And decided to make my own, keeping the aspect of the cult that is in canon material. It's a fic that deals with a lot of Tatsuya's frustration and sense of defeat at the realization he's basically stuck in the cycle of Karma and family expectations, which he carries everywhere. Water and rain in particular have a very important role in the fic, as they frame the plot, and are important enough for the fic to be named after them. I'm excited for the readers to meet this version of Jun, someone who doesn't have a persona or nyarlthothep, but is still entangled in an absolute mess. The fic also features the setting as a character, not personified, no, but it's is important enough for Tatsuya to get lost and swallowed in all the mess. A note about the actual writing production is that I look a lot at Kabuki theatre as an inspiration, and listen to a shit ton of city pop while writing. Also, fun fact: the restaurant Lisa and Tatsuya went to, is an actual restaurant in Yokohama! Yokohama being the city Sumaru is inspired by.
And last but not least, Primrose. Oh, primrose. I think out of these three, this one is the fluffiest. It's a fic where I made them young adults, but right here, right now, which means that they went through everything in the digital age, something that will become a little more prominent as the fic keeps going. (Also, it was an excuse for them to text each other mushy things.) It's an exploration of the idea of this side and the other side as not so much two completely separate places, but as layers of the same universe. Layers that communicate with each other sometimes, and can disrupt a whole play! It uses a lot of play imagery, scenography and stuff like that to drive that point forward. And since I've locked it down to Jun's perspective, there's a lot of stuff going on in the other characters' heads that is only hinted at, but if you read closely, you'll know! It's a fic about lies and theatre, it's about what they lost and what they'll find, and it's a fic about truth. A funny thing about the process of writing it is that I usually write the dialogue first, then go back and think about everything happening around said dialogue. It's rewritten around three times before posting, usually. When I imagine what's going on, I usually imagine it drawn and painted traditionally, like, with ink.

Can I request hcs how would gom+kagami+himuro react during their gf's first time doing 'the do' ? How would they treat their s/o? 😳🤭if that's too much characters feel free to write the ones you want !!) thank you!!
I already kinda did kagami when i wrote his dating headcanons so i’m just gonna skip him
GOM+ Himuro being their s/o’s first time:
Akashi:
He found out on the spot
Straight up between your legs making out with you, things are getting hot.. and THAT’s when you decide to tell him you’re a virgin
Thankfully he’s well aware of what to do, just teeny bit annoyed cause he could’ve at least brought lube
Will prep you like his life depends on and we all know akashi never does anything half-assed
Experience wise? Doesn’t have much. But he knows what he’s doing
Will take it slow and practically make an evening of it, he mainly studies your expressions to know if he should move or not
Is very proud to be your first, it means alot to him
especially since i see akashi as more of a date for marriage type
Will draw you a bath for aftercare and even ask your preferences for salts and scents
Bitch you’re getting fucked lavishly
Midorima:
Tell him before , do NOT catch him off guard
Studies it
I’m not even joking , he studies it
Even went as far as looking into kama sutra
Probably is a virgin as well , not that he cant get any?? He’s just not into flings and is picky with dating
Wants to ask takao since he has more experience but also doesn’t wanna let takao tease him so he just keeps staring at him angrily
Took a looooong while for midorima to finally ask him and thank god the latter didn’t laugh
Just chuckled and gave him pointers on what to do and NOT to do on their first time
“I suggest keeping it simple and slow, don’t try to experiment too much on your first time, i’d say avoid kink/fetishes till you’re more comfortable with eachother”
Surprisingly takao was very mature with his explanations but midorima still cant help but blush
When it was time to do the DO, baby was very slow and careful
Will probably be worried if you seem like you’re in pain even though he took his time to prep you and used plenty of lube
So both of you will need to reassure eachother
Over all a very wholesome experience, will clean you up, hold you close kissing your forehead and ask if you’re okay before drifting into much needed sleep
Murasakibara:
Probably asked you if you’re a virgin as soon as you got comfortable in the relationship
Definitely fucked before but he cares about you so he’ll just do a quick double check on the way back from school with tatsuya
Knows he’s fucking big and that he needs to take it slow
King of oral lemme just say it
Will eat you out until you have to ask him to pull
“I think we should do this more often”with your juices on his chin
Gives you a break to catch your breath before starting to penetrate
He loves how you hold on to his biceps
Very fucking observant, he almost bottoms out instantly when your expression changes from pain to bliss
Absolutely enjoying every single second of it
Is the type to kiss you while thrusting into you because he just cant get enough of your lips
Cleans you up after and sleeps holding your waist with his head against your stomach
Aomine:
DEFINITELY fucked before
Many times
In other words, boy is experienced and he knows what he’s doing
Asked you if you were a virgin by the second date
Wasn’t into doing it with virgins because he has to hold back and take it slow but .. found himself being so turned in by the thought of being your first
Is determined to not use lube but brings a bottle... just incase
The amount of times you came on his fingers or mouth???
Honestly you probably did that so many times but today.. is the day.. ya get deflowered if you catch my drift
Usually have a tit for tat rule , as in if he gives you oral you give him oral and vice versa
But today he said it’s all about you with the softest smirk before kissing you deeply and ma’am, your toes curled
And he was NOT lying
You never even thought aomine could be that gentle
Takes his time, lets you adjust and kisses you to distract you from the pain
Goes slow at first and gets excited when you ask him to go faster but he still won’t go at a 100%.. that’s for next time
Tells you that you’re fucking beautiful and that you were made for him
You cum together and both of you fucking loved it
Carried you into the shower with him and if you feel like it.. hey round 2
Kise:
He’s a model so let’s not pretend he didn’t have some flings here and there
Not as experienced as aomine but definitely knows what he’s doing
Never actually asked, you just brought it up one time
He feels very special to be your first
Honestly this boy is definitely a romantic
Will kiss every inch on your skin while telling you how gorgeous you are and how lucky he is
Literally looks in love
Loves it when you grip his hair while he’s going down on you and when you cum he leaves a little peck on your clit before going back to kissing you
Holds and caresses you thighs while penetrating you
Asks you if you’re alright and if he should move
Eye contact when he’s not kissing your lips, your jaw, your neck
Surprises you with a gentle spank and squeeze on your butt
Would prefer to relax with you in a bath but if he’s feeling tired, you’ll take a quick shower together, and nap right after while holding you close
Kuroko:
Is a virgin
Let’s not even deny it you’re obviously his first
You’re both honest with eachother so you knew pretty early
Reads some books to have an idea on what to do but doesn’t go crazy into research
Doesn’t ask anyone or talk about it
It’s a private matter and he’s a private guy
Encourages both of you to explore and experiment, i mean you’re both newbies and he sees no shame in that
He’s rather excited to learn and discover with you
Asks you to not hold back on being vocal as it will let him know what he’s doing right
He’s surprisingly vocal as well
Just lots of caresses and slow movements but so passionate
Honestly you practically cancelled all plans and made a day of it
Tries SO many things
And the boy is kinkyyyyy but you love it
Will clean up and hold you against his chest, brushing his fingers in your hair until both of you drift to sleep
Himuro:
Boy gets fan letters day and night
So i’m just gonna take a wild guess and say he definitely fucked
Mainly when he was frustrated to be honest with you
When he starts dating you and finds out you’re a virgin, he gets this weird possessive side popping up
Too happy that he’s your first
When he gets too arrogant you tease him by saying maybe you’ll have someone else pop the cherry and his ego deflates
“Yeah maybe kagami would do the trick-“ “ now wait a damn minute”
Definitely had non-penetrative sex many times
Like when you tease him he feels the need to prove himself and thats how you find yourself in the locker room against the wall with one leg slung over his shoulder and his head disappearing under your skirt
You didn’t set a date or plan for it to happen , it just did
Like one day you were in his room fooling around and asked him to take you
God he almost came right then and there when he heard you
Kisses you deeply while penetrating and whispers small encouragements while pushing into you
Like “ you’re doing so great baby, almost there.. just a bit more”
You barely cought your breath after orgasming before pushing yourself on his lap to his surprise
Kissing your shoulder while you ride him and encouraging you while holding your butt and helping you move, meeting your thrusts to get you close because he knows how tiring it can be the first time
When you’re done you just stay in his lap while his dick goes limp in you, slowly kissing before you push his hair back and smile
“You’re so beautiful”
His breath actually hitched in his throat
He was just so love struck and knew he never wanted to leave your side

ewbts - my top moments
no i will never stop laughing at that abbreviation it’s beautiful. buckle in because this is gonna be long, and probably don’t read it unless you’ve watched/read kuroko’s basketball and like izuki lmaoooo
chapter 1: hatchling, awaken
Izuki swallows. “Why do you all think I can do this?”
Then Kiyoshi turns to him with steel in his eyes (that must be how he got nicknamed Iron Heart - he seriously never backs down!) and asks him very clearly, “Why don’t you?”
Why don’t I think I can be captain?
“Because nobody thought I could be until now.”
aka “ceru is a masochist”, exhibit 1/???. anyway lets hear it for insecurities!!
chapter 2: liftoff
Predictably, Kuroko drags him aside at practice the next day and says, “I have something to tell you, Izuki-senpai.”
Izuki smiles at him. “Is it about your five evil exes?”
Kuroko looks horrified. “My what?!”
i think im funny
chapter 3: crash landing
As Izuki walks off the court, he looks for flashing glasses and grey eyes.
He curses himself for the heavy sadness that falls over him like a blanket when he doesn’t spot them.
yay for “ceru is a masochist” exhibit 2!
Oh, he [Izuki] watched videos of Aomine, came up with strategy after strategy to corner him, but videos and strategies can only go so far. Aomine in real life is something else entirely, a flash of lightning setting the court on fire with the sheer elegance of his crazy street basketball. All one can do is sit back and watch, awed beyond belief. Nothing can curb the wild madness that is Aomine Daiki – unrestrained, gleeful insanity dancing across the court like it’s his playground.
i also rlly like this line, it has some pretty imagery and we all know im a slut for pretty imagery~
chapter 4: a broken bone grows back stronger
“All right,” Koganei says to himself, moving to stand in front of the hoop. “One more time.”
He jumps, raising the ball to just above his face and releasing it. It misses, and he lets out a cry of frustration.
Can he even do this? Is it worth the time?
Koganei bites back the wave of guilt that washes over him at the thought. Izuki, Kiyoshi, Tsuchida, Rinnosuke, Kagami, Kuroko – he’d be letting them down if he didn’t give this his best shot. They’re all so dedicated to basketball that they each have a special skill honed from years of practice and love for the sport. If he can’t bring anything of his own to the table, what will he mean to this team? Seirin makes him want to be a team player, to add his skills to theirs rather than shining on his own. The change is good, yes, but he doesn’t want to stop there – he doesn’t want to be useless.
He will not be useless.
a bit of context: in this fic, since hyuuga did not return, koga became the SG for seirin :D i think my favorite character to develop, apart from izuki, was koganei - it was so fun to imagine all the ways he could have gone!
chapter 5: spreading new wings
All too soon, the day of judgment arrives, and Seirin convenes in the gym one last time before they head off to the Winter Cup building. No one says anything; not Kagami, fresh from his training trip to America, not Izuki, not Kiyoshi or Riko. They simply stand there, breathing in the scent of cleaner and leather and something else that’s so entirely Seirin, and knowing that no matter what happens this Winter Cup, they will return to the gym different people than they were before.
Different, and better.
Then they head out and off to the opening ceremony of the Winter Cup, not looking back once as they do.
yay for more pretty words!!!
“Oh, no worries. The actual motivational part is coming. Anyway, as I was saying – Tōō was just better than us that day. It’s hard to admit, I know: far easier to blame yourself, say you didn’t give it your all, but you know; we all know. It was their day to shine, not ours. But I think we’ve worked hard enough and are in a good enough mindset to change that, today. We aren’t scared or apprehensive about Tōō and Aomine, because we’ve faced them before. We know what attitude they’ll walk into our game with, and that’s what we’re going to exploit!”
“You’re going to exploit,” corrects Tsuchida. “Unlike you, the rest of us aren’t manipulative bastards.”
That raises a bunch of cackles, which quiet down when Izuki gives his team a glare. It doesn’t work on Riko, however, who sniggers under her breath and smirks at him.
izuki highkey sucks at pep talks lmao
chapter 6: ride the storm
Kagami and Aomine were made for each other. Made for this rivalry, this intense competition that will push them to their very limits and carry them onto a plane that no ordinary human can reach. Neither can defeat the other per se - they’re destined to stand neck and neck forever. However, one has a trump card on his side; and that trump card can make all the difference in the world.
Aomine Daiki may be strong, but Kagami Taiga is just as good. And damn him if the power of Kagami’s determination coupled with Kuroko’s unshakeable support won’t overwhelm the undisputed king of basketball.
Move aside, light bulb, Izuki thinks vindictively. The tube light is here to replace you.
pretty words. gay words. i love them (aokaga + izuki being a salt man lmao).
chapter 7: eagle versus aegis
“So bitter,” he [Izuki] reflects aloud, answering Himuro’s question.
That’s the emotion in his eyes. That’s what I might have become, if I had let my anger grow.
And suddenly he isn’t seeing Himuro Tatsuya anymore, but a version of himself, a version with darkened eyes and a mocking smile and pain and rage bubbling below the surface. Immensely talented, but not able to break the last barrier. Because he’s an ordinary man, and it’s as much as an ordinary man can do.
Strong, so strong. But also so terribly, heartbreakingly weak. Weak in a way that today’s Izuki Shun will never be.
GOD where do i even start w/this scene its literally everything i’ve ever wanted to write ksjfhsfj
chapter 8: clawing through mirages
Izuki’s taken aback for a millisecond before he continues his mad dash towards Murasakibara, letting out a war cry as the center makes to simply toss the ball into the hoop.
“It wasn’t their intention,” says a quiet but familiar voice. “But, this is the result of Kiyoshi-senpai and the other upperclassmen’s tenacity.”
Izuki grins, feeling new strength fill him up.
Together, huh? Okay. Together.
“This is where it ends for you!” shouts the voice, becoming stronger.
Not one, but two hands knock the ball out of Murasakibara’s hands and onto the ground. Kuroko shimmers into vision, smiling at Izuki with all the happiness in the world, just as the final buzzer rings.
i loved writing this match tbh, yousen is super underrated!
chapter 9: catch the updraft
21 - 22, in their favour at long last. Izuki grins at Kasamatsu, who shakes his head wearily.
“Using my own advice against me. What a terrible student you are,” he says, affecting an old man’s voice.
“The true student is the one who beats the master at his own game,” Izuki says quickly, sliding back into their familiar banter. “I swore to myself, my drive would beat your drive today, kitakore.”
“When did you get so wise?” asks Kasamatsu with a sigh, ignoring his pun and receiving the ball from Kobori, who was quick to grab it once Koga scored. Izuki just laughs, not bothering to reply and instead focusing carefully on Kasamatsu’s movements.
Kasamatsu shifts his weight right, left, then right again. Izuki narrows his eyes, trying to figure out what the hell his upperclassman is doing—
But it’s far too late, as Kasamatsu successfully passes through his defence in his moment of distraction, ball clutched tightly in hand. The sound of the scoring whistle is shrill and unpleasant to Izuki’s ears, and his chest stings at the loss.
“What was that about the main course?” Kasamatsu teases, wearing an enormous grin as he comes forward to guard Izuki once more.
izuki + kasamatsu banter is so so fun to write y’all have no idea
chapter 10: headwinds
This is your fault. If you’d been a better captain, a better point guard, a better everything, none of this would’ve happened. Seirin would have been well in the lead and controlling the game—
Izuki shakes his head violently, trying to get rid of his intrusive thoughts. He knows he’s a good captain, and doing this to himself will do no good for the rest of the team. He has to be strong for them. He has to lead them to victory, he can’t be a weak person overwhelmed by emotion. But it’s so hard to breathe, suddenly, and Izuki’s about to sink when—
“Don’t worry, Captain. I’ll take care of this match today,” says a confident and familiar voice, and a hand claps down on Izuki’s shoulder. He turns, a little surprised by the sudden contact, to find Koganei’s cat mouth set in a determined frown. “You can rest your hopes on me. I’ll be Seirin’s wings for as long as you need me to.”
kogazuki brotp feels man. kogazuki brotp feels.
chapter 11: cliff edge
Riko nods, sobering up a little. “I do know. And… I have to admit, I was a little harsh on you in the early days… I kept comparing you to Hyūga-kun.” She looks at the ground briefly, then raises her head to continue, meeting Izuki’s eyes with no hint of doubt in her own brown irises. “But then I saw how different you were. How you were never willing to give up, even if you were the worst player in the world. That’s what… that’s what made me truly believe in you.” She swallows thickly, taking a deep breath, but not averting her gaze from his.
The honesty and trust in her eyes is what shatters Izuki’s calm.
He steps forward, and she rises too, opening her arms. Then he hugs her tightly, murmuring, “Thank you for having faith in me.”
The “Of course. You’re family,” that she whispers back fills Izuki’s already overflowing heart even further.
Eventually, he lets her go, and she drops lightly to the ground, straightening her sweater and skirt.
“We never speak of this,” Izuki warns her, moving towards the door of the room.
Riko nods, back to her usual haughty demeanour. “Of course. No one can know we’re actually big softies who care a lot for each other.”
“To them, we’re just sarcastic jerks,” Izuki agrees. “And that’s the way it stays.”
anyone said izuriko brotp???? this fic is just platonic feels tbh
chapter 12: overcast skies
What should I do? Someone tell me! the voice cries out in Izuki’s head, a voice he hasn’t heard since the loss to Tōō. It is the same voice that whispers all his insecurities in his ear in the dead of night when no one is around to reassure him, the same voice that gave rise to all his fears and worries. It is the voice of the vulnerable and weak part of Izuki, the one that needs someone to guide him with a gentle hand, and he hates it.
It is a voice that, frankly, he never thought he would hear again. Yet, here it is, crying out for attention, screaming for someone to help.
He thought he had left it behind. It turns out he was wrong.
Izuki shoves it deep into his heart with more effort than he’s exerted all game, breathing a heavy sigh when he succeeds in locking it behind the glass wall that keeps his emotions away.
let’s hear it for “ceru is a masochist” exhibit 3~
chapter 13: nosedive
“I don’t know who you are,” Koganei completes his little speech, anger brimming in every part of his being. “But I know that my captain is Izuki Shun, not Akashi Seijūrō. The coach can bench you if she likes; we can fight without our captain, because we know he wants us to win for his sake. We’ve been fighting without him all the match, and we can continue doing so. We don’t need a player that can’t play with the same passion as us!”
Izuki looks at the ground and doesn’t respond. Somewhere within, something is stirring at Koganei’s words. Something that cries out to fill the gap inside him.
Next to speak is Kiyoshi, standing up and executing much the same move as Koga had by yanking Izuki up by his collar. However, Kiyoshi pulls Izuki into a standing position so that Izuki is half-leaning against him.
Brown eyes meet black, and Kiyoshi simply states, “I didn’t expect this from you, Shun.”
Then he rears his fist backwards and punches Izuki in the jaw.
“ceru is a masochist” exhibit 4!
chapter 14: bird of prey
“I just… I didn’t think you’d give up so easily.”
Koganei’s head shoots up. There’s fury in his eyes, and his face is white. His hands are shaking.
Izuki continues, calm and careless as he always is, “Really… after you gave me all that talk at halftime? I don’t believe this is you.”
Koganei’s jaw clenches, and he cries, “But I have done everything I can! He’s just too good—”
“And when has that ever stopped you?” Izuki keeps his voice quiet and even, but it has the gravity he intended it to - Koga falls silent immediately, eyes wide and riveted on him. “When have you ever backed down from fighting? You don’t know the meaning of giving up. You’ve never cared about whether someone’s better than you. I knew a shooting guard once, just like you, and he had the potential to be the greatest in the world. He was held back because he cared that he was worse than others. But you? You never blinked at it, just practised and practised until you could do the impossible.”
His words are getting louder with pride; he’s unable to keep it steady with the outpouring of emotion in his speech.
“Tell me, who can master Ray Allen’s form in one and a half years? Who can be such a rookie at basketball, yet be able to fight an Uncrowned King and respond to a shot that has left all its previous victims unable to move?!” Izuki leans forward and jabs a finger into Koganei’s chest demandingly. “Tell me, who the hell was that?!”
“Me,” Koga whispers timidly, looking down.
ahhhh yay for more platonic comfort and bonding. *izuki voice* yelling is the way to get ur team to get their shit tgt
chapter 15: born to soar
Izuki finds himself moving, barely thinking as he grabs the ball and bawls for an attack. He’s running faster than he ever has, flying up the court like there are wings on his legs. No one follows at his pace - they’re all too far behind.
No one but Kiyoshi.
The rhythm beats louder than ever, a heavy pulse in Izuki’s head and heart. He can feel Akashi on his heels and knows he needs to do something.
One second left—
Izuki’s hands move on their own, passing the ball to the one person he knows that he will always find.
Kiyoshi catches it and jumps.
Fortyfivethirtyfivetwentyfivefifteen—
The ball leaves his hands.
Fivezero—
The whistle blows to end the game. Kiyoshi’s shot hits the backboard and drops straight into the basket. Time stops as a shrill sound screeches into the air and the ref shouts, “124 to 123, Seirin High wins the Winter Cup!”
there we go. the most heartwrenching scene of this chapter ahhhhh
chapter 16: final flight
“We should go. Don’t want to keep them waiting too long,” Kiyoshi says, staring daggers at Hyūga, who to his credit doesn’t flinch but merely stares back.
“Let’s go, then,” Izuki agrees. He looks straight at Hyūga and allows a small, formal smile to play on his lips. Hyūga just nods, accepting the answer.
Izuki nods back, then turns around and starts walking away. But even as he moves toward the exit, something weighs heavily in his tired chest. For the first time in a long time, he isn’t confident in his decision.
Acting on impulse, he turns on his heel and yells out, “Call sometime, maybe!” before walking backwards out the door that Kiyoshi holds for him.
It’s an open-ended suggestion. Hyūga can choose to wallow and ignore it, or he can choose to pick up the phone. Izuki isn’t going to do so either way - he’ll be happy if Hyūga makes that call, but he won’t be terribly sad if he doesn't.
This time, he’s going to be the one that walks forward without looking back.
ahhh okay so this scene means a hella lot to me personally because... i had to grow, the way izuki grew. izuki’s now strong enough to sort of put the olive branch out and say, “take it or leave it,” and if it’s left he’s not gonna be upset. that’s something i really learned with a lot of difficulty and i think that that growth - in both me and him - is a lovely thing.
and there we have it! my favorite moments from each chapter of this story. *cries in a corner* god i can’t believe it’s over...
THANK YOU FOR THE JOURNEY!

The Bachelor(s)
Summary: (Sequel to My Best Friend's Wedding)
"It's the night before the Big Day. Are you ready? See you at the Bachelor Parties tonight! #bakahusbands"
Or Daiki and Ryouta are getting married but Daiki needs to get through the bachelor parties first.
Characters/Pairings: Aomine Daiki, Kise Ryouta, AoKise. A bunch of cameos.
Notes:  After two years, #bakaboyfriends will finally become #bakahusbands because it took me two years to write up the sequel lolAnyway, here is my actual offering for AoKise Day but I am fashionably late, it seems. There will probably be mistakes and those are mine. But anyway, I won't delay you any more. Hope you enjoy!
Also available over at Ao3!
"Aomine-kun, Akashi-kun has a problem."
Tetsu's eyes were huge in his face like they usually were but for some reason, they gave Daiki an uneasy feeling just then. The feeling didn't ease when Daiki found himself meeting eyes with Akashi who looked too calm and too serious as always..
"Aomine, I apologize." The apology felt sincere and Daiki wished Akashi would blink. "I don't have smaller bills."
Not for the first time in the past few days (weeks, months) Daiki had no idea what was going on. "...What?"
"For the night's… entertainment," Akashi non-explained delicately, quietly, still very seriously and Daiki really wished he knew what he was talking about.
Satsuki only told him to come pool-side where “his” side of the bachelor party was going to be. No one told him he was going to have any part of keeping things organized, never mind having to hold Akashi Seijuuro's hand through commoner pre-wedding festivities.
He probably looked like the actual idiot he was because Akashi's face was actually starting to look a bit pinched. You kind of start to notice his shifting expressions after spending some time with him and he often told you to run laps until you dropped dead.
"I don't have the necessary denomination for tipping the exotic dancers--"
"Wait."
Daiki felt like his head had exploded. He held up his hand to Akashi's face to stop him. He must have really just experienced brain damage because he actually dared to just put his hand up to Akashi's face within stabbing distance.
What the fuck?
Daiki looked urgently at Tetsu. "Exotic--I thought Satsuki said no strippers?"
Tetsu looked at him quietly for a long time.
Big, innocent eyes on his stupid, fucking child-like face.
"Yes, Momoi-san definitely said no strippers," Tetsu confirmed.
Daiki absolutely felt his blood pressure shoot up. "Then why did you--"
"Oh, I understand now." Akashi interrupted Daiki mid-mind explosion #2. Now those eyes were on Tetsu.
Tetsu turned his head and looked right back at Akashi.
No fear, ice cold. He just needed a milkshake and a pair of sunglasses.
Akashi looked back at him like he was about to wage some kind of war. It felt like the Winter Cup Finals back in first year high school all over again. "That was not funny, Kuroko."
In turn, Tetsu smiled a little, the Rakuzan ass-kicking asshole. "I kind of thought it was, Akashi-kun."
And Daiki left them there because he did not need the added stress on his already huge pile of it the day before his wedding. Where the hell was Kagami when he needed him?
Two years ago, Satsuki got married and Daiki had been involved with some tasks and responsibilities for the wedding. He had seen first hand what kind of stress and turmoil one had to go through just for one special day and he had thought himself adequately prepared for it. As usual, he was wrong. It was a whole other ballgame when it was you on the way to be shackled and it was your soon-to-be spouse who was stressed because no, Daiki, we can’t just do it at our favorite outdoor court! Among other things.
And now they were at this beach resort with a bazillion of their family, friends and acquaintances (It’s just about a hundred people, Daiki, don’t be dramatic--) for the ceremony. Tonight was the bachelor parties which took up the bar and restaurant and pool areas. Too many people they knew and vaguely did were milling around socializing, eating, drinking and having a great time before the big day tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Daiki was overwhelmed and kind of tired but that wasn’t anything new nowadays.
"Hey, Aomine!"
Daiki stopped then sighed before just turning towards the voice, not at all surprised to find himself face-to-face with his brother-in-law. Well, sort of brother-in-law.
Hamada Tadashi was a robotics engineer who was involved in developing technologies towards making the world a better place. More importantly, he also happened to be married to Satsuki, thus explaining his presence in the party. What was strange was how he was seated at a table with his old Touou Captain, Imayoshi Shoichi, and one Kuroo Tetsurou. Looking at all three of them together already made Daiki's head hurt a little bit more.
"Are you okay?" Tadashi asked, looking genuinely concerned. Daiki might not have gone out of his way to befriend the guy until he did the right thing and proposed then married the girl Daiki considered his sister but he had always, grudgingly, thought the guy was a decent one. Always friendly and accommodating and wasn't deterred by Aomine's attitude one bit. "You want to sit down with us for a while?"
"You do look kinda overwhelmed," Imayoshi put in and Daiki was pretty sure his old Captain was giving him a surveying look.
Beside him, Kuroo hummed in agreement as he looked around idly. “It’s kind of a madhouse around here right now, huh?”
A madhouse was right and if Daiki thought about it a bit harder, his brain would most likely die. He had no idea how he and Ryouta were able to accumulate these many people as friends and acquaintances through the years. Take for example Kuroo here who was a member of FC Tokyo and was currently sitting in the smart kids’ table. Before Tadashi noticed him, they must have been talking about something brainy, like Tadashi’s latest project that had something to do with robot nurses or whatever they were called. It almost always flew over Daiki’s head whenever Satsuki tried to explain it to him.
“I have no idea where all these idiots came from,” Daiki grumbled as he took a seat beside Kuroo which faced away from the chaos happening in the pool area behind him. Normally, Daiki wasn’t one for socializing but people were here for his wedding and he supposed he could spend some time being welcoming.
“Well, you’re gonna have a wedding in a beautiful beach resort plus food and booze. Most everything’s free,” Imayoshi shrugged easily before taking a sip of his own drink, something amber and expensive-looking. “Are you really that surprised, Aomine?”
Daiki gave his old senpai a bit of a glare. “And all of you didn’t have to come.”
“Come now, Aomine, you can’t be this annoyed about us accepting your and Kise’s invitation, are you?” Kuroo has a hand over his heart, shit-eating smirk on his face, and right then Daiki knew how he and Imayoshi could get along like a house on fire. “I’m hurt. It wasn’t cheap coming out here, you know?”
Was it too late to regret his choice to sit down? It probably was.
“I think Satsuki and Kise did a great job organizing everything, though.” Tadashi came to his rescue with a winning smile, that smile that always came out when he talked about his beloved wife.
“They’re a powerful combination,” Imayoshi noted with a nod and even Kuroo had to smile at that.
It looked like Kuroo had something to add to that but then a loud whoop swelled from the pool area. Daiki looked over to that direction and found Midorima walking away from the ruckus with a bit of a pinched look on his face and the day's lucky item in one hand. It seemed to be a rolled-up sock.
“What’s going on?” Daiki asked, a bit worried that someone might come in and call everything off.
Midorima looked at Daiki like this was all his fault. “An arm-wrestling match.”
“Between who?” Kuroo suddenly asked, looking far too interested for anyone’s good.
“Iwaizumi-san and Matsuoka Rin.” Everyone turned to find that it was no other than Nijimura-senpai who spoke and tagging along was Himuro, of course. It was still kind of strange seeing their old Teiko Captain with Himuro Tatsuya but apparently they were friends. Or something.
Himuro was almost grinning. “We’re on our way to witness an epic gun show, according to Matsukawa-san.”
“Any bets going around?” It was Imayoshi who asked, unsurprisingly, as he rose up from his seat.
“Not that we know of as of yet but we can always ask around, Imayoshi-san,” Himuro replied with playful cheek and it didn’t take long before Imayoshi was walking off with them followed by a very curious Kuroo.
“Are they going to be okay?” Tadashi suddenly asked from the side.
Midorima pushed his glasses up against the bridge of his nose as he did. “I expected better from Iwaizumi-san and Matsuoka-san both but I suppose the occasion inspires a reckless sense of fun.”
It still sounded like Midorima was blaming Daiki but he had known Midorima long enough that he knew just to just ignore it.
"They're grown ass adults," Daiki said with a scoff. "They should know what they're getting into."
Thankfully, Midorima made no further comment and politely excused himself.
The noise level behind them was rising and normally, Aomine would have been in the middle of that. An arm wrestling match between Iwaizumi Hajime, his old College roommate and former volleyball ace, and an actual Olympian? Aomine would have been all over that but not today.
He sighed and he noticed Tadashi just kind of smiling at him sympathetically.
"...What?" he asked with a bit of a frown.
The smile on Tadashi's face barely shifted. "You want to take a breather? I can cover for you."
Daiki actually took a bit of time to think about it. What were the consequences if he stepped away from this circus for a while? How painful would they be? Could he actually trust Tadashi?
"Can I trust you?" he asked and Tadashi got points for not making a fuss about even being asked.
He just smiled that friendly smile and Daiki could really sort of tell why Satsuki fell for him. Tadashi was just a really nice guy.
"I think anyone would want a break every now and then."
And wasn't that true? Daiki was pretty sure Tadashi would even have some science to back all that up.
With a sigh, Daiki got up from his chair and made to go, nodding at Tadashi as he went.
"Stay outta trouble, Hamada. Don't get into any arm wrestling matches or whatever."
Tadashi's laugh sent him off. "See you later!"
Daiki raised a hand and quickly made his escape. Finally.
Walking down the path toward the restaurant and bar area made him realize that it wasn't long before sunset. The path leading to the restaurant cut through a well-maintained garden with a sea view. The sky was slowly turning into a mix of yellows, pinks and purples and even Daiki could definitely appreciate the sight.
Honestly, he could get married anywhere, even just a basketball court (wearing his favorite Jordans, of course), but he had to admit it was a good idea to have their wedding in a beautiful place like this.
"Oh there you are, Aomine-kun."
He had to look away from the view to find Mibuchi Reo coming up to him and he felt an instinctual urge to flee. Mibuchi was one of Ryouta's so-called Groom Squad, a group of Ryouta’s friends from all over who offered their assistance to Ryouta and Satsuki as the wedding approached. Daiki barely ever saw the lot of them the past few weeks without it involving some wedding-related task.
"Hey, Mibuchi-san," Daiki greeted, deciding to try and make this as painless as possible for his own good. "What's up?"
"I'm so glad you're here, Aomine-kun," Mibuchi replied, waving a well-manicured hand toward the direction that Daiki just left from and making an annoyed-looking face. "Imagine if I have to go over there where all the brutes are? No, thank you."
"You were looking for me?" Well, that was a dumb question but Daiki asked anyway.
"Yes, Mr. Husband-to-Be--" Daiki thought Mibuchi was about to reach out and pat or pinch his cheek; he didn't. "--Ryou-chan says to meet him by the Sandbar."
It was probably super sappy to say that his heart thumped when he heard that Ryouta was asking for him. "At the Sandbar?"
Mibuchi waved him off. "Yes. Go on now. He's waiting."
And after what felt like years, Daiki felt like smiling.
"Okay," he said with a nod but before he went, he took a moment to look Mibuchi over. "You look tired, Mibuchi-san."
Mibuchi made a less than elegant, very weary face and Daiki would have laughed if he could but he got it.
"Satsuki-chan runs a tight ship,” he quipped dryly. “But I love her and Ryou-chan so Neesan will persevere. I will tell you this, though, Aomine-kun.”
Mibuchi lifted a finger poignantly. “Yu-chan and I are most definitely eloping."
And that did make Daiki laugh. "I don't know if Kasamatsu-san would agree but hold on just a little bit more. This’ll all be done tomorrow."
"Thank God."
Daiki didn't waste time on making his way to the Sandbar after talking to Mibuchi. Now, the Sandbar wasn't some piece of land that sprouted up from the sea. The people who came to the resort just called it that because there was a lot of sand and there was a bar. It was an area by the beach where a bar and dining area was set up. Low tables were placed down on mats over the white sand where you could sit or even lie down comfortably and enjoy some drinks or a meal while looking out towards the beach. And if you decided to go for a swim, you were just a few steps away to doing just that.
He found Ryouta some ways away from where the early dinner crowd was, looking over to the direction of the sea and away from his phone, finally. The setting sun's golden light reflected on his hair and eyes, making him glow and look even more beautiful if that was even possible. He seemed to sense Daiki's stare as he came closer and he turned his head to smile at him.
"Aominecchi~!" Ryouta called, drawing up the old nickname teasingly that Daiki had to scoff and lean down to give him a kiss for it.
Ryouta smiled when he kissed him back and it made Daiki feel warm. That little detail was something about Ryouta that he would never get over.
Daiki sighed when he drew away. During the kiss, he had gotten a hand down to lightly cup by the side of Ryouta's neck to end up with fingertips caressing his nape. Ryouta was smiling still, looking fond and sweet and also a bit like he was tired. Daiki kissed him again for good measure. When was the last time they were alone and this close?
"Daiki must have missed me," Ryouta observed with a grin a moment later after Daiki settled beside him. Daiki didn't care to occupy his own side of the table, happy enough to just squish up against Ryouta as much as possible that he was almost on his lap. He even leaned his head by Ryouta's shoulder and closed his eyes. When he breathed in, he smelled Ryouta's lavender shampoo layered with the sunblock he must have just reapplied. Ryouta smelled so good and familiar he could fall asleep right then and there.
"Could we leave and go to bed already?" Daiki asked with his eyes closed. He bothered to ask even when he knew the answer would be "no".
A soft giggle and Daiki felt fingers playing with the hair by his nape. A shiver ran through his spine and he almost groaned. Ryouta and his magic fingers...
"But we still have the ending program for the bachelor parties, remember?"
Daiki actually groaned at that. "There's more?" He almost turned his head and nipped Ryouta on the shoulder.
Another giggle, more petting, this time more soothing and indulgent rather than playful. "Just some games and we gotta give a 'thank you' speech for the guests. Poor Daiki. I'm sorry, baby." Finally he got a kiss for his troubles. "You must be tired. Daiki needs to recharge, hm?"
"Do I get a lapdance from you at least?"
Ryouta tugged at his ear kind of hard even if he did laugh at the question. "No, Ahominecchi! Not when my sisters are gonna be watching, come on…"
That tug hurt a little and Daiki frowned but he just grumbled under his breath and took more cuddles for compensation.
If you asked him, this big, flashy celebration was not really Daiki's style. It was something he decided after having to follow Satsuki around for months to make sure she wasn't obsessing over little details too much and that she got enough rest. Wedding planning was stressful as all hell and he would prefer to not have anything to do with it if he had a choice. He could get married anywhere and have it done anytime. All that mattered was that Ryouta would be the one standing with him and that he would say "I do".
But Ryouta wanted the big, flashy wedding because it was his style. In his own way, Ryouta loved the planning, the hassle, the stress. He wanted to make memories and have people to share them with. Plus, Ryouta just loved a good party and why not make his wedding the best one ever?
And since Daiki loved him and knew what it took when it came to getting together with Kise Ryouta, he agreed to the beach resort wedding with the bazillion guests. Also the crazy bachelor parties though his batteries were drained and he would prefer not to see anymore people for the next year or so.
But for now it was okay because he was in a corner away from all that with just Ryouta and he was getting his hair petted while waves coming up the beach sounded in his ears.
"Daiki."
"Hm?"
"You awake?"
He must have dozed off for a bit because when he opened his eyes, the lights around them had been turned on and night had fallen. It was cooler and with a deep sigh, he shuffled even closer against Ryouta. He wrapped his arms around him and was prepared to get settled for a bit longer when a smell distracted him.
A waiter had come up with a bit of a smile, a tray held over one hand. On the tray were two plates of food and he laid them down carefully before them.
One plate had some beautifully grilled chicken and a hefty vegetable salad on the side. On the other plate was a burger, the patty thick and juicy and topped with finely shredded cabbage, paired with wedges of potatoes.
"I ordered us dinner!" Ryouta chirped after sending off the waiter with a smile of his own. "Did you know that they served Teriyaki Burgers here? I thought you might want to give it a try."
His burger definitely didn't look anything like the ones he got at Maji Burger but his stomach rumbled at the sight of it. When was the last time he ate?
"Do we have time for this?" Daiki asked even as he already reached to examine the burger. He wasn't sure about the cabbage but well, he was hungry.
"I asked Momocchi for at least an hour," Ryouta answered as he picked up a knife and fork and immediately pierced one of Daiki's potato wedges. Rude.
Daiki took one of the bite-sized pieces of chicken Ryouta had sliced up as payment.
"An hour?"
Ryouta hummed in answer. "An hour to have dinner and just to hang out." He offered Daiki another piece of chicken with his fork and Daiki obligingly ate it. "I told her I missed you."
Daiki cut up about two bites' worth of his burger and placed it over one side of Ryouta's plate.
"I missed you too…"
Ryouta gave him that pleased, happy smile that always crinkled his eyes, very unlike those polished ones he gave cameras, and Daiki sighed. He reached to wipe off a bit of dressing that was by Ryouta's lip with his thumb.
"Now eat,” he told him. “And you better finish all of that."
Ryouta nodded obediently. "Yes, Daddy."
And then laughed when Daiki scowled and rolled his eyes at him.
Sometimes, Daiki really couldn't believe he was actually marrying this annoying (precious) brat.
The burger was juicy with the right amount of teriyaki sauce and the cabbage added a good crunch. It was pretty good and Daiki enjoyed it as he and Ryouta had their dinner. It was their first time having a meal alone since they arrived at the resort and it was a nice break. They got to catch up a bit with each other and how the whole day had been so far. As usual, their conversation flowed smoothly, hardly a dull or quiet moment.
Daiki watched Ryouta as he told him about his day, voice lilting and always in motion. Ryouta had always been animated, full of life, glowing and golden, and Daiki often had a hard time looking away. He had long grown past the embarrassment of getting caught staring at Ryouta for too long and now, they had come to the point where Daiki knew he wouldn't really be able to look away ever again. And that thought was…
Ryouta was smiling at him, amused, and Daiki knew he was caught just staring again.
"Ah, Daiki is so in love with me," Ryouta sighed wistfully as he lifted a hand to his forehead like he was going for a swoon. "How is he to survive another night without being married to me, I wonder? This must be my curse for being so handsome."
"Oi, stop that," Daiki grumbled as he reached and took the hand that Ryouta had to his forehead, the one with the ring he gave him. "You really need to stop picking up shit like that from Oikawa-san."
Ryouta was laughing again, flushed from giggling too much and that random cocktail he ordered, while he held onto Daiki's hand and looked like, well.
Daiki's Forever.
"Ki-chan! Dai-chan!"
Satsuki appeared with a wave and a smile and Daiki sighed because he knew it was time to go back to the party. Joy.
"Momocchi!" Ryouta waved back with his other hand that was not holding Daiki's. "And Cheekinui too!"
"Can you just go back around and take that demon with you?" Daiki asked as he eyed Satsuki and the plump plushie in her arms. The plushie that resembled Ryouta down to the blond hair and big amber eyes. Daiki had no idea why Kise Ryouta plushies existed but there was probably a method to the madness and it included fangirls and wishful thinking.
Satsuki shook her head just as she handed over the plushie, Cheekinui, to a Ryouta making grabby hands. "You're always so mean to Cheekinui, Dai-chan. What did he ever do to you?"
"It's a trespasser," Daiki answered just as he avoided soft sausage hand pats that Ryouta was inflicting on his cheek via Cheekinui. "We're on a dinner date. And it’s evil."
The plush might look like Ryouta but it was evil to its core, Daiki just knew. He could tell by its penetrating, judging stare.
"Then I’m a trespasser, too," Satsuki said with a shrug and ignored Daiki's answering groan. "It's time for you two to come back and make an appearance at your party."
"Tell them we're busy," Daiki insisted and no, he was not whining. What are you talking about? But he stopped and just sulked a bit instead when Ryouta kissed his cheek.
"Give me just 10 minutes, okay, Momocchi?" Ryouta said as he got up, smiling that professional Kise Ryouta smile. "I'll just freshen up."
Satsuki beamed. "Okay, Ki-chan!"
Ryouta turned to Daiki and wordlessly held out Cheekinui like the plushie was a baby, hands under the plushie’s armpits while his feet dangled. Cheekinui had a wardrobe change--blue and white Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts, usually he wore a tiny Kaijou jersey--and somehow he had white angel wings strapped to his back. Daiki really didn't get it but he took it like a man and just accepted the Ryouta-looking plush. He was rewarded with a happy beam from Ryouta.
"Be right back!"
Daiki watched Ryouta go with a sigh before sitting back on his chair and putting Cheekinui over his lap. It was weird, sitting a plushie over his lap like it was a child, but he had probably done weirder for Ryouta and would continue to do so in the future for sure.
He felt Satsuki's eyes on him and he turned to meet her gaze.
She was smiling at him, something soft and fond, and it made him just hold Cheekinui closer for some reason.
"Are you ready, Dai-chan?" she asked and Daiki knew she didn't need to elaborate.
He knew what it was she was asking and he also knew his answer.
"Yeah," he replied easily, calmly, and he looked back to the direction Ryouta went.
"I am."

Sometimes a Little push is needed
Heya @minty-ocean ! I’ve been assigned to you in the writing exchange! I really hope that you’ll like it! Your prompts were all interesting and if I hadn’t gotten sick I probably would’ve also wrote a one-shot on the Soulmate AU. I may still will later when I have a bit more time again because I already have some ideas~
Prompt: Kira Hiroto x Haizaki Ryouhei. Maybe how they come to realize they like each other? Or Inazuma Japan trying to set them up, that would be hilarious. Or a soulmate AU omg.  Characters: Haizaki Ryouhei, Kira Hiroto, Inazuma Japan What?: One-shot for the @ina11writingexchange Words: 1017
The time has finally come for Inazuma Japan to be decided. Kira Hiroto was confident that he’d be chosen. Of course he would! He’s the God Striker after all! So it was no surprise in the slightest that he was one of the chosen ones. Full of excitement he entered the team’s camp together with the rest when he saw the list of rooms. »Are you fucking kidding me? I’m the God Striker! Why do I have to share my room with THAT guy?!«, he complained for everyone to hear, hearing a ‘hmpf!’ as a response before his roommate spoke up. »You think I want to be roommates with a noodlehead like you?«
The tension between the two was noticed by everyone though Fudou Akio, leaning on the wall smirked. »And they were roommates!... if that ain’t beautiful…« From that point on Fudou was trying to set them up. Little things here and there, like sneaking a penguin into Hiroto’s things or casually mentioning to Haizaki that maybe Hiroto wants to be someone’s God Striker. But none of them were taking the hint and the tension between them grew especially when the news were calling them the God and the Devil of Inazuma Japan. It wouldn’t be Fudou Akio though if he’d give up that easily. Some of the others had already noticed his tries to set them up and decided, now that the issue with Mitsuru was solved, to help him. They made a plan to get them closer. For that Tatsuya suggested making use of Hiroto’s fears.
The weekend before their trip to Russia the team went to an old abandoned amusement park. Nosaka claimed that it was for them to get some clues on Orion because apparently they were hiding some things there. Hikaru obviously confirmed this, as he was involved in the plan as well. At the park Nosaka read out a list of teams of two to go together. Neither Haizaki nor Hiroto was really pleased when they heard their names together but their complaining didn’t help. After all the groups were set they went all on their way. Or rather: Haizaki and Hiroto did. The others were already getting into places. After all… a good scare seemed to be needed to get them to become closer. It started after a while with small things. Hearing weird giggling from the sides and running steps when Hiroto turned around fast. »Oy, Haizaki… did you hear that as well?« »Hear what?« Haizaki looked at him in confusion, causing Hiroto to put on a fake confident smile telling himself that he was just imagining things. »Nothing~.« Haizaki sighed, deciding not to get angry. But Hiroto was more cautious now. Was it really just his imagination? Or were it maybe gho- His train of thoughts came to a sudden stop as he heard something fall over. With a flashlight in hand he turned around but saw nothing except the fallen over bin. Calm down Hiroto… there’s no such thing as ghosts… none of it is real… none… He got closer to Haizaki without noticing it. For a while it was quiet until he heard the sound of metal chains close by together with a deep, sinister laugh. Hiroto screamed and clinged to Haizaki who was focusing on investigating. »What’s your problem?!« »Y-you heard that right?« »It’s just the wind calm down.« »T-that’s not ju-« Hiroto was cut off by a screech out of the darkness and a figure, tall, with glowing red eyes and fog surrounding it started to appear. Both of the boys froze for a moment before Hiroto screamed, grabbed Haizaki’s hand and started to run. They were running for about ten minutes before Hiroto calmed down enough to stop. He was trembling in fear, incredibly pale and eyes widened in shock. »W-we… have to leave! NOW!« »Calm down Hiroto… I’ll go che-« »NO! You stay here!« Haizaki blinked in surprise, not expecting Hiroto to grab him that firmly. Hiroto looked up into Haizaki’s eyes, afraid, help seeking, not putting up the strong face of the God Striker and in this moment the Devil of the Field couldn’t help but think that this guy indeed had a very very cute side to him. He couldn’t stand against this very long and sighed. »Let’s go back, I’ll text our teamchat.« This didn’t have to be said twice. Haizaki texted and then they headed back immediately. Returning to the camp they found the rest of the team playing cards and other things. Not a single person was missing. Tatsuya looked at them, seeing Haizaki having an arm around Hiroto who still was slightly trembling. But he was pretending that he didn’t see. »You took long, are you okay? Did something happen? No one of us found anything.« »We found nothing either.«
They headed to their room and to bed. After a short time Hiroto woke up sweating, absolutely terrified causing Haizaki to come over and calm him down with a hug. After a while Hiroto fell asleep again, cuddling with his roommate feeling safe again. Haizaki kept on watching him for a felt eternity before he fell asleep as well. The next morning Hiroto woke up first and was slightly confused why he was in Haizaki’s arms. The God Striker looked at him, remembering what all happened and smiled softly. »I guess you aren’t that bad after all…«
They both decided to not tell the others about what had happened because none of them mentioned anything strange at the meeting they had the next morning about their ‘investigation session’. Of course no clues about Orion were obtained and Hikaru innocently said that they probably already moved everything after he turned his back on them. It would probably still take some time but Haizaki and Hiroto already seemed and felt way closer. When the two of them left to work on another combo-hissatsu the others high-fived and Fudou, after watching this with satisfaction started to grin. »Step one is done. Thank you Tatsuya for this great input. Now… I’m all ears for suggestions for our next action!«

Hi!!Can I get a match up for Run with the Wind for sure & also chose KNB or HQ!! along with it (whichever you’re feeling that day haha)?I’m a ENFJ who’s a short gay boy. I’m a Virgo who’s a hard worker (most my classes are honors/AP) but also procrastinate. People tell me I have a very calm & trusting vibe so people always come to me when they need help or have a secret. [PT 1]
I enjoy writing & traveling. I’m pretty dorky & nerdy as in I love learning random new things & am involved with my school’s mock government & model un programs. People also say I’m very funny & I highly enjoy memes & am overall very witty. I suffer from ocd, depression, & anxiety but do what I can to be my best. [PT 2]
And last part, enjoy affection (especially cuddling). I’m a very supportive person & love being my friend’s hype man. Oh & I love Disney movies & Bruno Mars lmao. If you need more, just message me (I hope I covered everything lol). Thank you so much!! I’m so excited!! I hope you have a wonderful day love!!!
___________________________
I match you up with
Yukihiko Iwakura:
Tumblr media
Both you and Yuki would be a perfect match if I’m being completely honest. Your personalities match rather well since I think Yuki would be an ENFJ as well. Your leader type personalities helps motivate and encourage one another in your studies/activities, as well as in bettering yourselves as people. With both your analytical and passionate natures, you both can easily pinpoint or tell when the other’s mood changes (whether that positively or negatively) and you both are able to act accordingly, sharing the other’s enjoyment and happiness or being there for the other when one of you in feeling down.
Trust is rather important to Yuki since he isn’t able to open up to people as easily as one would hope. Knowing that you are a very trusting person would make Yuki feel a lot more comfortable around you, though it will still take some time for him to reveal facts and secrets about himself (but just know that you will always be the first person he tells). When Yuki fully trusts you to be able to confide in you when he needs to vent is a rather huge milestone for him. He is usually the type to let things well inside himself and ignore people’s offers for help, but once he finally finds a mutual form of security with a person (aka, you), he is able to drop his walls and guards to be vulnerable with you.
As much as he’d tease you for it, Yuki loves your dorky and goofy side. Seeing you smile when you’re reading a good book, or excitedly typing away at your computer when a new idea comes to your head makes Yuki smile. He likes that sort of thing in people; letting their quirks run wild without any fear of being judged. Being near you when you are doing either of these things sets his heart and mind at ease and he will often ask questions about what you are writing or reading because he wants to let you know that he is interested in your hobbies. Honestly, chances are that you’ll get him hooked on to a certain topic and he will end up helping you with research and typing the findings up alongside you.
Don’t get me started on memes. Yuki is the king of wholesome memes and often sends you some throughout the day. He’s not sure why, but wholesome memes tickle his fancy quite nicely and give him a clean sort of amusement so it’s only natural that he sends them to you so that you can feel the same. But if you send him a meme thats on the edgier or more nerdy side, you can bet that you will hear the ugliest laugh ever from him.
Affection is something Yuki isn’t exactly used to but it is something that he craves. I wouldn’t exactly call it being touch starved but every once in a while he will find himself daydreaming about what it would be like with you in his arms, simply cuddling as you guys spend the day in bed. He’ll never turn down your advances of affection but please know that if you do more than just hold his hand or put your arm around his, he will get pretty flustered and push you away a bit. It’s not that he doesn’t want the affection, but it’s just really embarrassing and quite new for him.
Strong points:
Your overall compatibility makes it less likely for you two to have heated arguments that can cause damage to your relationship.
You both are a good support and encouraging system for the other.
Your level of understanding for each of your struggles and difficulties with life as well as just for each other.
Hardly any jealous comes from either of you since you both trust one another deeply.
Weak points:
The only thing I see being a weak point in your relationship is Yuki’s need to be right. Even though it doesn’t happen often, you both will have small arguments that go on for a little too long due to Yuki needing to prove that he is right.
Hyuuga Junpei:
Tumblr media
You and Hyuuga would also be a very good match due to the similarities in your personalities, but that isn’t the main reason you two work so well together. It’s the differences in your personalities that make your bond with him grow stronger. By nature, Hyuuga is a rather uptight kind of guy despite his goofier moments. He is a third year as well as the captain of an entire basketball team, so there is a lot of responsibility on his shoulders that makes him more serious than playful. With you by his side, your rather playful and calmer personality mixes well with his serious and intense one. You both bring different aspects of life to one another, in turn bringing you closer and closer as you both progress in your relationship.
Much like Yuki, Hyuuga loves that he can confide in you without fear of judgement. Despite seeming rather strong in his position as captain for his team, he is still rather insecure. He sometimes has doubts if he is the perfect one for the position, if he is doing right by his team, and being the captain that they need. Knowing that he has you to listen to his doubts and worries and give him feedback is reassuring for him. All his secret insecurities and wishes and hopes and dreams are all safe with you and he loves that you’re so supportive of him and uplighting.
I don’t care what anyone says, Hyuuga loves Disney and Dreamworks movies and knowing that you love them as well makes him fall so much harder for you. Often times on the weekends he will invite you over to his house to have marathons of different Disney and Dreamworks movies. He’ll have you cuddled up in his arms, a few snacks here and there, A/C blasting and singing along to the songs within each movie. But, please know that he does get emotional when watching certain movies (totally not the Lion King whaaat) and it’s best not to bring it up lest you want him to cry more.
He too is a dork so you both have that in common. He collects warlord figures and watches Japanese history documentaries in his free time. He’s as nerdy as they get and he loves that he can nerd out with you about it or similar topics that interest you both. He loves how invested you get in discussions and how you love to write and travel. If you are far along in your relationship with him, he will want to take you traveling to different (historical) parts of the world so you both can learn new things together. He’d love it if you wrote about different facts and worked with him to create a timeline of all the places you been to and the facts you’ve learned so that he can read it once it’s finished.
He will always be there to help you through your OCD, depression, and anxiety. You’ll come to find that Hyuuga becomes a major part in your methods to relax and calm down from your funks. You both have created a system that helps you calm your nerves that involves a lot of sweet talks, soft cuddling or some form of close holding, and a calming area. His favorite place to console you is usually in his room where he has an abundance of candles that he’ll light to fill his room with a calming and warm ambiance to help soothe you.
Strong points:
Your personalities - despite their differences - work really well together making for a sound relationship.
You both give each other mutual love, support, and trust. There is hardly a moment in which you both feel as though you aren’t being loved enough by the other.
Similar interests makes it rather easy to plan dates and do things together that you both enjoy. Lots of bonding time, trying new things, and togetherness.
Weak points:
He has a tendency to get jealous rather often but it’s not because he doesn’t trust you. He just doesn’t like that other people are holding too much of your time.
His insecurities sometimes have to do with him not feeling worthy of being with you, so often times he will distance himself from you because he doesn’t want to disappoint you or waste anymore of your time so you’ll have to seek him out and coax him into talking with you which takes a bit of time to do.
Not exactly a major weak point or anything, but you both have different senses of humor which can make it hard to share jokes but you still laugh at similar things.
Alternative Matches:
Yoshinori Susa
Yukio Kasamatsu
Tatsuya Himuro

This is still ‘soon’…
… Right?
So! Let’s look at subbed Ryusoulger nigh immediately after raw Ryusoulger.
… Huh. I’m not sure about that sentence.
So, I got into one of my theory rambles at the end of this. In case anyone wants to just skip to the end and avoid the nonsensical bullet points. XD
In no order:
I love the angsty edgy bros w/ my whole heart and no one can stop me.
Touwa definitely sounds a little… I dunno, wistful? I really think he is lonely, and too read too much between the lines, this sort of seems to me like he may not know about the betrayal thing. I guess it just kind of seemed like there was an edge of questioning about it? Like he’s bringing up the topic of ‘friends’ in an effort to probe his brother’s reasons for being so against it? … Probably overthinking it.
Kou inconveniently makes a noise before I can learn anything about Banba’s opinion on the word ‘friends.’ Damnit, Kou. If you weren’t so cute…
He’s so happy, gods love him. Banba just stares incredulously at him, but Touwa rolls his eyes. Definitely the more expressive of the two. ^^
Banba does let Kou back up quite promptly, though. He may not trust people or want to work w/ them, but he’s not outright hostile, at least.
Important facts: Melto now gets to eat a banana w/out having to worry about being incriminated.
Kou just takes things, does he. XD There’s his mischievous side. ^^ Though I guess he did have a reason, and it was a clever tactic to get the other two’s attention.
Banba is somewhere offscreen like ‘damnit, Touwa, don’t make promises I don’t want to keep!’
Kou’s awkward ‘wait, this isn’t mine…’ moment when Touwa says he’d have to give them the map. XD
Okay. I love all these kids, and they’re all doing great. But what gets me in the opening shot of all of them screaming is that Tatsuya, Ichika, and Tsuna are all just going for it w/ the tragic drama, while Yuito and Hayate… Maybe it’s bc there’s no other context but they both kinda look like they’re almost smiling to me? Weird, I know. And probably just me.
And the problem children are officially at it. XD Drama babies.
I still don’t understand why the hell Touwa knows about that. Have you been hanging out w/ business men? Does Kou even know, for that matter?
I love Kou being super impressed until Touwa claims he won. It’s so adorable. ‘Wow, you’re actually really good––no, wait!’
Ah, Touwa acts all indifferent, but I think he’s definitely enjoying this. Kinda seemed like he suddenly realised he was having fun and immediately tried to backtrack. Like, really, when was the last time he got to behave like a kid? Like, we know Banba loves him, and I’m sure they played as children, but it’s a little different––probably esp after Banba started shutting himself off, depending on when that happened. Gah. It’s hard to explain. Like, why there’s the whole thing about how it’s good for children to play w/ kids their own age, and stuff like that.
They both keep doing the same thing. XD You boys are so similar. ^^ … Banba is going to kill you both.
The little green dancing knights and the little black dancing knights overlapped and it’s CUTE.
I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE FULL TEAM ROLLCALL I WILL CRY.
Poor Kou get’s interrupted on his announcement speech.
No, Kreuon, they don’t.
These two are gonna find ways to turn everything into competitions, aren’t they.
DORKS.
Aw, don’t worry, Touwa. He meant both of you.
Still a cool reveal shot. Also, damn, Banba got there fast. Does he have a ‘someone just pushed my brother in a fountain’ radar or something?
Actually, he probably does have a ‘brother in trouble’ radar.
Banba officially becomes the second person to actually formally trade blows w/ Tankjoh. And the last time, when Kou did it, he was riding adrenaline and rage from Master Red’s death. This is really cool.
Like, he was able to activate KataSoul in perfect timing to not get untransformed by the purple glowy slash. And it didn’t even really knock him back––he does a bloody flip and leaps clear. And while he’s a bit out of breath from it, he doesn’t seem that worse for wear. That was impressive! Even Tankjoh was kind of impressed!
XD These two dorks. Definitely already got the bickering down. ^^
‘Oops. Nii-san’s pissed.’ I love how even Kou is awkwardly looking down. XD
I love how it looks like this woman just carefully placed her purse down before falling unconscious.
Ah, yes. The universal Toku Hospital. Pretty sure this is where Geiz and Tsukuyomi took Sougo during the Ghost arc.
How… How would you tell if that was the Minusaur host. Like. Is it it just based on the toy gun? I’m beginning to wonder if Banba was just staring at Kou when he asked about killing the kid bc he could believe Kou was dumb enough to think he’d do that before being sure.
Or just for thinking that he’d do that already. It’s not like they want to kill people, they just think they’d have to.
Like, they’ve––well, definitely Banba, I think Touwa might have some left––lost all optimism. I don’t think Banba believes in the ‘power of hope and determination’ at this point. Boy needs to relearn his Sentai tropes. ^^ I mean, he’s definitely shut off most of his empathy. Like I know I’ve said before, and I’m so annoying I’ll say it again, I think he had the opposite reaction to trauma that the trio did. They choose to find hope and carry on in the memory of their Masters, and try to find happiness to help counteract the sorrow––whereas Banba seems to have reacted by deciding he’ll stop the pain by just feeling and connecting as little as possible. If that made any sense.
Banba says nothing, and he’s really stoic, but I think he’s also uncomfortable w/ that concept. Esp since it still seems like he raised his brother, I highly doubt he could actually harm a child w/out thinking of Touwa.
When did Kou stuff that down his shirt? And how did it stay there?
I love how Melto immediately chastises Kou for taking things. XD Definitely the mom friend.
Kou just looks confused.
Maybe I’m totally overreading Banba’s reaction to Melto suggesting they split up? But it’s the sort of thing that could very well be related to a betrayal, no? I dunno. Maybe he really was just looking for an opportunity to make someone else deal w/ Kou and Touwa’s competition.
Apparently, Asuna can’t read a map.
Oh, and don’t worry about him, dear. He’s just like that. I promise you, he’ll open up eventually.
Love how he’s very purposefully walking a certain amount of feet away from her.
Okay, but  the fact that TigerLance and MirNeedle really are stuck in their temple means so much to me. I can’t believe my goofy, über-tired joke theory came true.
I love how we’re all including each other in calls now. Like, before Asuna just called Kou. But apparently we all, I dunno, exchanged numbers? Is it possible to only call one person, or are they now just stuck on conference for life?
Banba will hate that if it’s true.
Touwa is vaguely concerned, aw. I really think he’s been a little lonely, what w/ Banba just having lost all faith in the rest of the world, so to speak, while he didn’t have the same experience; so the trio are growing on him faster, and he’s a little more open to the chance of connecting w/ others.
Also, the fact that Banba was the one to associate the Minusaur’s behaviour w/ an adult playing w/ a child. He seems like the last person that would be able to make that connection, but he’s also the one that we can confirm to actually have potentially interacted w/ a child in that way.
But even if I’m wondering if I’m overthinking Banba’s reaction to the splitting up suggestion, I really don’t think I’m overthinking Touwa’s reaction to the reveal about what created the Minusaur. It seems to have hit a nerve, and I think we can now be pretty certain that the boys have (presumably, though I guess it could have been their mother) dad issues of some kind. But… Well, I’ll get more into those ideas a little further down. See, there was this idea I had… I’ll get to it at the end.
I don’t think it’s that strange for Touwa to intercede. He has an idea to beat the Minusaur w/out killing anyone. The brothers don’t actually want to kill anyone. They just thought they’d have to if they couldn’t stop the monster in time.
Though I do definitely think there’s also something personal going on.
Cuties.
Banba’s comment, not only sets up his motivations for next episode, and make sit double clear how much Touwa means to him, but also reenforces my suspicion that the brothers have dad issues.
I love MirNeedle and his weird steamboat sound.
Also Banba almost smiling and kind of teasing his brother. ^^ Even more cuteness.
I love how the touching moment where Touwa admits that he’s kind of gotten fond of these fools is promptly followed by evidence of their utter incompetence and goofy melodrama. XD
Really excited for next week. XD I mean, it was already highly likely that they way they’d get Banba to start at least working w/ the team would be through Touwa, since Touwa is the only person he’s able to trust right now, but I’m excited for how they’re doing it. Usually stoic big siblings being distressed and frantic over injured little siblings is one of my jams. ^^
Seems like Tanjkoh is deliberately goading Kou, and it turns out to be a setup of some kind. Touwa ends up getting bitten by the Cerberus-based Minusaur, which seems to be some sort of rabid dog/werewolf type thing where the bite does something. And, naturally, Banba freaks out. Presumably after they get him calmed down enough to actually go after the Minusaur rather than just stabbing the nice animal lady (emotional Banba is not gonna be rational Banba), he eventually agrees to work w/ them in order to save his brother.
According to the website, his relationship w/ Kou also changes? So we’re starting the adoption process, I think. XD
Aaaah. While I do love the little Kishiryu running about on the book, I also would’ve loved if they’d done like LuPat where the preview kinda continued under the sponsor stuff, so we got to see a little more of the next ep. Mainly bc I am a big impatient baby. XD
That’s all folks! White chocolate rubber duck for anyone who read all that (go on, eat all of it, I dare you).
Anyway, onto that theory I promised to get to. So, when things were first getting revealed, and it turned out that Green and Black were brothers and we learned about Gaisorg/Gaisoulg, and how those three would be appearing in Strongest Battle, I had a thought that maybe Gaisorg was their father, who was either getting controlled by the Druidon (like Wolzard) or had gone evil for power, or something (like Ikkou and Isshu’s father). When it turned out that it was the armour, and esp when the brothers didn’t seem to recognise it, I pretty much ditched the idea. However. There have been developments. Someone picked up and took Gaisorg’s helmet away at the end of Strongets Battle. They’ve stated that Banba was betrayed in the past. This most recent ep indicated that Banba and Touwa have some kind of father issues––namely, that their father was likely rarely around, esp for Touwa. Banba’s line to the father about how there’s nothing more precious in the world than family. So now I’m wondering. Was their father the one who betrayed him/them? Maybe he wasn’t around bc he got obsessed w/ being stronger? Or maybe he betrayed them early, and Banba made the call to get away from him? Banba coming out of his usual stoicism to inform someone of the importance of family could just indicate he’s dealt w/ someone who failed in that regard, possibly in almost exactly the same way. A father who put duty (or maybe just plain power) before his children. Could also explain Banba’s desire to prove his own strength, prove he’s better than their father. And while he’s obsessively devoted to the mission (possibly after seeing his father lose sight of it?), it’s certain he would never put it above Touwa. His arc could partially be not just learning how to trust again and finding friends/a new family, but also getting away from their father in his own way.
Alternatively, I’m riding the high of the fact that my goofy ‘what if TigerLance and MirNeedle are trapped’ theory, and I’m running my mouth. But it does smack of a rather stock Sentai/Toku style, though in those the fathers usually turn out to be under the control of the bad guys, or it’s some sort of secret plan. But maybe we are pulling a KR here, and dad’s just plain a dickwad. Might be interesting.
