Because I don't know if ill ever get to write this ai and I don't want this scene to be lost to be never read (especially because this occurs until a long way into the story) you get this brief scene of my all persona au:
"There will be a bathroom in your room where you can clean yourself if you so wish" Kirijo started saying to the man.
The man, Tatsuya, turned to her and if Goro thought Akiras face had been impossible to read those first months after they had met it was nothing compared to this.
Tatsuyas face was rigid like a stone as he nodded. It was as if after all these years the man's face had forgotten how to make the simplest of microexpressions.
"But before you go I need to ask, what can you tell us about this Philemon?", Kirijo asked, as always down to bussines.
"I punched him in the face. He trapped me in a post apocalyptic dimension crowded with shadows", the man said impassive. His voice, as his face, not showing a single trace of any kind inflexion despite the severity of his words.
The group exchanged glances between each other waiting for the man to elaborate. He seemed to think it wasn't necessary so he didn't.
After a long moment of waiting when it became obvious the man wasnt going to say anything else Kirijo spoke again
"Is... that so?" The CEO continued raising an eyebrow, trying to salvage what was clearly turning to be an unsalvageable situation. “Dont you have anything else to say?”
Tatsuyas stared back at her in what Goro guessed was his way of carefully thinking over through his next words.
"He's a little bitch", was all he added before leaving the room effectively leaving them all in stunned silence.
“Err...You must excuse him,” Aki- Maki (Godammit Goro get it through your thick head already) said apologetically, "Tatsuya-kun has never been good with words"
'No shit Sherlock', Goro thought to himself biting the insides oh his cheek to keep himself from voicing his thoughts.

One thing I realized when re-watching the tennis arc is that WISE doesn't really side with either Westalis or Ostania even though they're being funded by the Westalis government. They just genuinely want to prevent any war from happening. If it's true that Ostanians did human experients or the Westalians committed massacres of the Prisoners of War, the other side would see that as a good enough justification to start a war. And WISE wants to hide that truth regardless which side the dossier is implicating because they don't want innocent citizens to be caught up in another war. It's basically what Franky said during Twilight's childhood remembrance arc:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's probably why Tatsuya Endo added this silly little chapter because the truth it had spoke volumes:

Twilight doesn't care which country actually committed war crimes, he just doesn't want another war.

Will any of your other oc's also be in Dies Irae? Like Isamu or Eric?
Tumblr media
Isamu is actually in Dies Irae. He's the history professor of Yuuta and Tatsuya. He works for a study program for people who didn't finish high school. He's pretty much a background character and a comic relief because he despises Tatsuya a lot and it's always insulting him in some way (talk about professionalism.) Also, Isamu has a side story that I'm never going to translate into English (yes he's Yandere as well)

which characters have cursed in-game? I know akito does a lot but I was wondering if anyone else has at all or if all the swears just go to akito and sometimes ena lmao
Akito swears the most, but I'm pretty sure some of the VBS characters (side characters included) user coarser language from time to time. If memory serves that covers Kotaro, Arata, and Tatsuya. Ena is translated as saying "pain in the ass" in the niigo main story if you count that as a swear, and I'm pretty sure she tends to use ruder language sometimes like her brother (though I don't read the scripts in their original language, so I'm basing this off of how fan TLers choose to adapt them).
Ensekai rarely puts profanity in the script. Like quite a bit of Akito's dialogue on JP could be TL'd as "fuck" or "shit" (he often uses ruder language). It makes sense though since this is a game with a relatively young target audience. I don't keep up with ensekai's translations but I don't think they've used profanity (aside from "crap" which doesn't qualify imo) much at all since 2022?
The following characters have used crap on ensekai (which again isn't really profanity but it's like the rudest word that ensekai frequently uses)
Shiho
Airi
An
Akito
Tsukasa <- only says it once
Nene
Ena <- most frequent user
Mizuki
Kotaro <- only says it once
Sometimes these are just used as filler words for exclamation points. In a flashback in the Leoneed main story one of Honami's bullies says "were you talking crap about me". That's probably the most severe the use of crap has ever been on ensekai, because it is being used as substitute for the word shit. There may be other instances of this - I didn't cross check every single piece of dialogue since it's 1am as i'm writing this and they use crap quite a lot.
Also Tsukasa says "fuck" in english twice in Dappou Rock. Len says it once in Ego Rock.

I just realised I can just. talk a lot in this website without consequences so
tatsujun makes me SO normal. I'm literally sooooooooo normal about it. I feel normal when I think about them. it's just...... how did both of them feel. unlike lisa and eikichi, they both knew each other outside of their masked circle personas, so I'm sure that tatsuya KNEW about jun suddenly disappearing, being swallowed up by everything joker and nyarlathotep (he obviously didn't know about that but you understand). he was the most important person in tatsuya's life, maya says that they were always together and were the closest so. I imagine tatsuya, feeling trapped in his own house by his brother (not that katsuya is a bad brother at all, but. teenage angst, you know?), wishing that his friend from all those years ago could just be there with him. he needed someone who could get him and that person just disappeared like it was nothing.
and on the other hand there's jun. jun was bombarded with nyarlathotep's lies, telling him that tatsuya, his best friend, his other half, was the one who "killed" maya all those years ago. the betrayal, the feeling of not being able to trust no one..... he must have doubted every single thought that told him that tatsuya would never have done such a thing. he wanted to trust him, but he wasn't able to.
and then we get to IS and........ jun regaining his true memories and realizing that he had been living a lie all along. but tatsuya doesn't care. he just hugs him so so so tightly, not wanting to lose him again. how much time had it been since they last talked? doesn't matter. he just doesn't want to lose track of him ever again.
but he does. he's forced to lose all memories of the masked circle, but he refuses. however, the rest of them weren't able to bypass philemon's memory wipe...... he ends up in EP's Side and he's forced to live knowing that everyone he cared about not only FORGOT about him, but DIDN'T MEET HIM AT ALL. including jun. and, if he remembers, then it will be the end of the world again IT'S JUST THE DOOMEST YAOI????
and he keeps having feelings for him. because of course he does. and he gifts him the lighter...... the lighter jun once gave him all those years ago. the lighter he never gave him in that timeline, he returns it to him. and jun must keep on living, because he just HAS to, tatsuya can't let anyone else suffer from the consequences of his own actions. jun doesn't get it, of course, but there's some hidden part of his mind... that understands it. at least a bit.
so yea I'm normal

Media - ペルソナ2 ~罪が与えし罰~ 下巻 [Eng]
Tumblr media
Title: 罪が与えし罰 (Punishment given by Sin) Volume: 下巻 (Second Volume) Written by: 南原 順 (Jun Nanbara) Illustrations by: 上田信舟 (Shinshu Ueda) Publisher: Square Enix/G-Fantasy Novels (Label) Summary: The story follows from the first volume. Except this time, instead of being specifically character-focused, it follows a bigger narrative, involving many other characters to expand on the worldbuilding of the world of Persona 2. The focus still revolves around the same of the first volume (Tatsuya, Katsuya, Maya and Ulala, Nanjo) but this volume mentions Lisa Silverman, Jun Kashihara, Eriko Kirishima, Noriko Katayama and Chizuru Ishigami. This is the second and final part of the two novels. The first novel can be found here
Google Drive link (Included in the folder are: The translation PDF, scans of the cover and the illustrations inside the novel in 600dpi resolution, and credit pages present in the novel) Personal Note:
Merry Christmas!
I'm sorry that it took me this long to finish the second volume. But I can assure, that it's definitely worth the wait. I recommend this one a lot, it contains a lot of interesting details that otherwise aren't shown or said in the games. I wanted to get this novel done specifically for christmas, so I did my best to get it finished! It's also much more text heavy than the previous one, although not by too much. The first novel serves as an introduction, setting up the groundwork as to "what's next to come", so the Tatsuya of then was still the one native to This Side. This second novel, as Tatsuya's already awakened, is a bit more in-line with the game Tatsuya. If you're curious to see more of Tatsuya in that way, I'd recommend reading this novel. Of course, reading both is best. It may not be necessary to read both, but it enhances the experience specially if you care about the characters. Now finally, I hope everyone can get to enjoy these novels for the first time.

Spy x Family Ch. 99 Thoughts + Analyses
God, this entire chapter has been an extreme roller coaster from feeling excitement to sobbing--I'm terribly emotional when it comes to reading war stories must be from all the times I was forced to read war stories throughout my English education program to anger to resignation.
... but this is why I love Spy x Family and the brilliant storywriting of Tatsuya Endo.
Ch. 99 Spoilers ahead.
There's a level of depth and care put into these characters that make them feel so real. If you have someone who has family serving in the army or if you are someone who has read countless accounts of war, then surely you are affected emotionally by the horrors of war. In my case, war stories are what made me look at life and identify the meaning of it. Although I won't go into too much detail about my findings, I did walk away having a deeper appreciation for literature and for humanity itself, in other words, I cry easily to war stories. Hence the case of this chapter.
I was already prepared that Ch. 99 would be a devastating chapter considering that Ch. 98 ends with a cliffhanger in which the alarms go off just as Martha was going to confess her feelings for Henry, and that this 'side mission' story is expected to conclude before Ch. 100. And it truly did not disappoint.
As mentioned earlier, this chapter is a jam-packed rollercoaster ride with previous expectations motivating my excitement as well as my dread for the inevitable.
First, I'd like to address a part that excited me: parallelism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What quickly striked me was how similar Henry was drawn to Twilight after departing his jail cell. Even the context of the chapter leading up to this physical change indicates that sacrificing oneself for the best outcome/greater good was a theme echoed by these similar character designs.
There is also a third "similar character design" which has become a popularized theory in a possible relationship between the Captain and Twilight. However, I'm starting to see that these similar drawing styles don't identify relationships, but alignment in sacrificing oneself.
I see this as an alignment amongst the three because we now have two lores that shared the impact of war and the injuries sustained, whereas the Captain/First Lieutenant has yet to have his lore addressed. We can surmise based off Twilight and Henry's background that their experiences from war is what continues to drive them in their chosen field/occupation. I'm excited for the day that we learn the Lieutenant's real name and his POV from war. It is then that we will finally get three POV's:
The West / WISE - [Redacted]/Twilight/Loid
The Neutral Civilian - Henry
The Ostanian / SSS - Lieutenant
Tumblr media
This is the perfect time to segway to my next excitement: symbolism.
Even though the lore on the unnamed First Lieutenant/Captain has not yet been addressed, his scars tell me that he's experienced a similar outcome. Tell me, have you guys noticed that all 3 men had experienced the same injury found on the left side of his face?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I looked into the symbolism behind it, I found that the left side of our brain is responsible for processing emotions. The injury to the left side of the face signifies an emotional trauma in which their emotional side had to be silenced. Given what we've already learned about Twilight and Henry's backstories, their personalities and thinking are often stemming from an analytical/logical approach.
Tumblr media
Of course, old wives' tales are not always scientifically supported, so I was prompted to research more, and I stumbled across an interesting one regarding emotions found in different parts of the brain:
Tumblr media
Since this is a theory, it should not be taken as a fact without repeated research and evidence to support the claim. I, myself, do not claim to be an expert when it comes to neurology or psychology. But this information, when taken from a creative writing/literary analytical stance, can support that the left-face injuries had essentially damaged the positive facial expressions--which can support Twilight and Henry's experience. Thus, we can also surmise that the Captain had experienced a similar fate.
Another thing that we can learn from these injuries (at the time that they were present) is that the character is currently experiencing a time of vulnerability--[Redcated] after returning from battle and Henry, who is still in mourning, is still a bit withdrawn from his students.
Another symbolism that I got excited about is the dichotomy between Henry and his father in character design.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice Henry's hair is straight and tied up in contrast to his father who has his hair wavy and loose. Although subtle, I found this character design beautiful for its ability to show a dichotomy in their social/political views.
Wavy hair can be perceived as something flowy, as in going with the flow. Because it isn't tied up, I see that Henry's father doesn't need to hold himself back, and is free to express himself and his views. In contrast, Henry's hair is straight and tied back. Straight hair can be perceived to support Henry's straightforward nature (which is also one of his weaknesses as well as covered in the previous chapters). When his hair is tied up, he gives an air of elegance and looks like he's got everything together. However, his hair tied back could also illustrate imprisonment of the mind, where his views cannot be vocalized at a time when tensions were high during the first war. Furthermore, his "rebellious" behavior resulted in him ultimately being tied down to what was imposed on him (marrying the person his father picked).
I love the detail in which Henry is drawn with his hair untied and unshaven. He's broken at this point, and as we all witnessed at the assembly, he loses control of himself over this grief that he's taken into custody and slandered a traitor. The next time we do see him is when his long hair is chopped off and traded for an undercut--a telltale sign that he was starting anew, and looking awfully like Twilight.
During this social climate, Henry was perceived as the 'villain' in the Henderson family due to his 'bad' behavior. But let me, just say that Endo-san loves to remind us through character design just who is the true villain. Did you notice it, too? It's the nose. Henry's father has a pointy nose, reminiscent of a witch, whereas he inherited his mother's round nose. Another small detail, but it made me laugh. This is why I love Endo-san.
Above, I have addressed what made me happy. Now, I will address what brought me to tears, that being Martha and Henry.
I mean, it's no surprise that they wouldn't have a happy ending. I was well prepared with the knowledge I know about them from present-day story that mentions of Henry's daughter, cameos of his wedding ring, and Martha working with the Blackbells, and recently reveals that she had an old crush on Henry. The absence of their love being pursued led us to believe that Martha may have had a one-sided romance. But ch. 99 confirms that Henry reciprocated his feelings for her due to yearning her letters.
Tumblr media
It wasn't until news of Martha's life-threatening decision did it impact Henry significantly, and then his breaking point to realization that he loved her too late was when Martha showed her vulnerable side in her letter with the following:
Tumblr media
I practically balled right here. I was teary-eyed leading up to it because war stories are always so heartbreaking, especially to those who sacrifice or don't make it home alive.
We now learn why Henry ended up marrying someone else is due to Martha's "inevitable" death--unbeknownst that her decision not to volunteer would also result in death. From what we read, Martha was too emotional to vocalize her situation clearly, and even if she did, her message would be blacked out, unfortunately. So it is evident that Martha was trapped and had no way out other than choosing to volunteer and ultimately "die" in battle.
Henry, on the other hand, could not fight the system, despite that he became a History teacher just to do that. He failed because his countrymen and the system failed him. He lost his beloved and if he were to continue holding onto his belief, he'd lose his ability to teach. Essentially, he lost the fight (to change history/improve the situation through education during that social climate), but not the war (in which there is still hope for history to change). Heny, ultimately, shared a similar fate as Martha through self sacrifice of his livelihood.
Tumblr media
I was and still am completely discombobulated by the war and its impact on Martha and Henry that, to be honest, I completely disregarded Donovan Desmond.
I know I won't be able to capture the importance of his lines as eloquently and moving as I did with Martha and Henry, the former pair leaving a moving impact on me during this chapter, so I'd like to recommend my dear friend, @yumeka-sxf 's, analysis which covers more of Endo's brilliant story writing and character development decisions.
After rereading the chapter as well as her analysis, I agree with her point that Donovan Desmond was made to be the antagonist of the story. I believe Donovan's view of liars and holding absolutely no hope for them is a necessity for readers to continue perceiving him as a villain in the series. This is because we cannot perceive good and evil as simply black and white in the series when we have both Yor and Loid dirtying their hands in the name of protecting their countries/loved ones. We hold love for the characters in this series because of their personalities, values, and moral compasses amidst taking life after life. In their social climate they must always choose to sacrifice themselves for the greater good, which is why their tainted actions can be perceived as forgiven. Donovan Desmond, on the other hand, cannot share that 'exception' because an action/drama story needs a villain.
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for your time! I hope you enjoyed my analyses and thoughts on Ch. 99! What do you guys think about the chapter and my analyses? I'd love to hear more from you! :3

Kny OC introduction
Tumblr media
Harumiko was born as the middle child of a peasant's family in the country-side. She remembers having one eldest brother and a youger sister, Tatsuya and Kaori. Her father was a land labourer, but she has very little memory of him, as well of her mother. When she was around 6 years old, her father had a working accident the that left him unable to work for a long period of time, and eventually escalated into an illness which plunged the family in extreme poverty.
Desesprate to not let her children and husband starve, Harumiko's mother sold her. She remembers the long trip she and the old man who took her made across the region, and how he brought her a lolipop on the way throughout a city— it was the first time she ever tasted a candy.
The old man eventually took her Tokyo and tried to sell her to a Geisha house in order to make a better profit. Harumiko was sold to the very last house they visited, and never saw the old man ever again. The Okiya's owner, "Mother Yuta", was actually going to turn her away because of her light hair color and malnourished body. It was her uncle, "Ojiisan" (every girl in the house call him grandfather) and one of the eldest girls, Genko, a Maiko at the time, who convinced her to take Harumiko in. Had they not, she would have been sold to a brothel in Yoshiwara.
Harumiko mostly grew up under Genko's wing. Genko was protective, but hot-tempered, with short patience and a straightforward personality and a domineering presence, teaching her that "If demons don't eat you in this world, other humans will." A total contrast to Jua, the other eldest, who was soft, peaceful, attentive and indulging. But was also manipulative, calculating and envious.
At school, Harumiko stood out for her wit, litterary knowledge, and talent for board games as well as her grace in dancing and humurous personality. Though diligent in her studies, she was also remarked for being a bit too outspoken. The spring after her 16th birthday, Mother Yuta judged Harumiko to have completed her education at school and to be ready to make her debut as a Maiko.
On her debut night, Harumiko accompanied Genko and Jua to a dinner organized by many wealthy businessmen. She was completely overshadowed by the presence of the other more experienced Geishas and Maikos and was only able to speak with one person for the entire evening.
A certain Tsukihiko, seated next to her, takes an interest in her and they both spend the rest of the dinner talking about diverse subjects. The man even shows Huremiko a photo of his wife and daughter, and by the end of the evening assures her that she might have a bright future waiting ahead of her. The next day, Huremiko realizes that she forgot to return the handkershief the man had lent her at some point during dinner, and tries to seek more about his identity in order to give it back.
Little did she knew that man was actually none other than Kibutsuji Muzan himself and that the bright future he promised her was one where she would have to spend meddling with demons and using the best of her skills in order to survive.
Tumblr media
Fun Facts
— Though she has no fighting training whatsoever, Harumiko has very strong legs and her high-kicks are very effective— she also has lots of strengh in her back and a great endurance.
— Harumiko spent her childhood climbing the roofs of the Asakusa district and thus become a surprisingly skillfull climbers, also having a great sense of balance. Though she is now forbidden to climb and run across the roofs, she sometimes sneaks up in order to take short-ways.
