DAILY*/WEEKLY* LAES, TSAMS, EAPS REVIEW! 👏 👏 👏
Yesterday's episode were great I wonder what today's episodes will bring...
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
HE'S HERE!!! TAURUS IS HERE! EVERYONE PANIC! let's see how badly this ends....
Surprisingly well actually.
The music in this episode was also really good. I usually don't pay attention to the background music, but the music in this episode was really good it kinda reminded me of Walking Dead mixed with Last of Us. I'm not sure if that was the intent, but it works really well I feel for this situation.
Taurus is obviously menacing, but he's also oddly calm. Not what I expected from a destroyer of worlds. He says he's just here to observe Lunar and the others and decided if Lunar and probably the whole world should live.
I ain't gonna lie, I don't have hope for this world.
Taurus is gonna take one look at the whole place and decided everyone is better off dead. Which will probably lead to some kinda of Astrals civil war or Nexus showing up and whooping Taurus and the others Astrals behinds and Lunar having to step in and save the Astrals. But that's a pipe dream I guess. We'll have to wait and see.
I can. Nebula isn't a big fan of Taurus, and he clearly isn't a big fan of her. The way he talks to her, I get she's just the messager, but she's still a person. Taurus is gonna be observing everyone and his next stop his Sun and Moon, and I don't have high hopes for what he'll say or think of them. Him and the other Astrals know about Nexus and his little stunt with star power. Sun, Moon, you guys better have a good space lawyer. I know Earth plans to befriend Taurus and make things easier on Lunar, but I have a feeling Taurus isn't the friend making type.
Gemini did say Taurus would threaten Lunar's family to get a reaction out of him. Taurus, I swear to gosh! If you hurt any of them.
Also, I think it's a matter of time until Earth runs into Nebula again, and if she does, I hope she can convince Nebula to help them with EVERYTHING going on.
We'll have to wait and see.
Now, let's see what Sun and Moon are up to maybe they'll have a calmer episode today...
Tumblr media
Nope. Just trauma and sadness.
Solar and New Moon reunite.
Probably not the way either of them wanted but here they are.
Okay, Nexus has just completely gone off the rocker!
"All it takes is one bad day" -Joker
Guess that saying was right for Nexus (Not really but still)
Solar tries to reason with Nexus and even says he can help him come back to the family, and Nexus just laughs! He starts spouting off all these lies about the family, like how Lunar never cared about him. He did! That Earth was just trying to fill the void cause her dad didn't love her. Earth still believed the creator loved her at that time, so that's a lie! And that Sun never cared and just took pity on Nexus. Nexus, you dense mother.... Nexus, you are just a terrible person. Knock off the oc act and get a life! Seeing as how you lost the one you had. I mean, you'll probably get yourself killed soon anyways so what's the point. But we probably should worry. Someone pointed out to me that Nexus could be a part of Rez's plan, and it's definitely looking like it. Maybe Dark Sun is Rez's master or at least is in league with Rez and his boss. I feel so bad for everyone here. (And I kinda feel bad for Nexus.... but not by a lot.) I more pity Nexus cause one day I hope he'll realize that he lost the BEST thing that ever happened to him and will never get it back and I hope he dies knowing that.
I more so feel bad for Sun and Solar.
Solar already had to kill his Moon once... and now he has to do it again. And Sun sounded so shocked and saddened when Solar suggested they kill Nexus. Nexus/New Moon was the Moon who actually showed he cared for sun. And he did at one point, but now he can't even say Sun's name without wanting to gag! Oof.
This is just sad all around.
And now they have Nexus, Taurus, and Creator after them.... LOVELY!
This is all going to boiling over and culminate in some crazy Infinity war level poo I hope.
Tumblr media
And now, it's a less sad one but still equally as worrying.
Puppet and Solar reunite! Yay! At least one of his reunions went well today.
Puppet filled in Solar to everything that has happened. Gosh, that must have been fun. This is like the second time someone has had to explain to him what's been happening since he's been dead.
Solar gave Puppet some advice on what to do about Eclipse, and Sun gave her some advice on what to do about the other Sun and Moon. I hope their advice works. Puppet expressed at the very end of the episode her wish to leave this new dimension and return to the old one.... Puppet...
WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST STAY IN THE OTHER DIMENSION THEN?!
Puppet, you left that universe to protect everyone from Puppeteer. Now, I'm not sure what the deal with Puppeteer is now. He's been weakened cause Puppet herself has been weakened, but there is still the risk of him coming back. Are you really gonna take that chance, Puppet?
Also, Puppet, you uprooted your entire family's life to go here. You don't have that apartment anymore! You can't just decide to move to a whole other universe and bond to said universe only to decide to leave it after what 3 weeks?
Yes, I know Foxy chose to go with her, and he could have chosen not to but did, but still, you can't just decide to ditch when the going gets tough Puppet, you stick it out and ride the waves till it all calms. I hope everything works out for Puppet and Eclipse and hope Sun and Solar's advice to her works. Also, sorry if it seems like I hate Puppet's character, I don't. I love her character and this flaw of hers. I'm just being critical.
11/10 TAURUS HAS ARRIVED.

Another part to this proposed Tsams au:
Sun and Moon are twins and the oldest siblings, they were around 16 when the triplets were created.
Sun is the oldest sibling, he will be the Aleena in this au(minus being the triplets mom). He gained the throne very shortly after the triplets were created.
Moon is the second oldest, he will either be the one to foresee an awful fate for the triplets, or ‘Uncle’ Chuck. Both can still work, they wouldn’t be mutually exclusive in this au.
The triplets were all separated at the age of about one and a half years old.
Due to wheel of names on both single spin and best out of three, The creator is Robotnik.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How is Sun a dethroned King if his dad was the one who overthrew him? I’ll have to figure that one out.
Lunar, Earth, and Nexus are the triplets of this au, as the Sonic, Sonia, and Manic respectively.
Lunar was raised by Eclipse
Earth’s surrogate family is undecided.
Nexus was raised by Kc then, I guess?
The triplets meet when they’re all 14, they’ll reunite with their older brothers when they’re about 16, making Sun and Moon 32 when they reunite with all of their little siblings.
Monty is Knuckles and is about a year and an half older than the triplets, and Moon occasionally visited Monty while he was growing up. Due to royal ties, shelter, and safety reasons. Sun used to come along but stopped around the year him and Moon fought.
Creative liberties:
Sun(around 31), whilst still in hiding takes in a baby deer, who he named Dazzle Evelyn as to not expose his last name whilst he’s still hiding.
If Solar’s in the au then there’ll be some work arounds, as he has no character to put himself into place. He’s about 6 months older than the triplets and joins the group when they’re all 15.
Jack is here, he was a clone of Solar, and no Solar didn’t clone himself. Jack is about 6 months younger than Dazzle. Jack is a clone baby, he is not physically the same age as Solar.
Creator was dethroned and exiled shortly after the triplets were made, but his kids remained heirs to the throne, forcing Sun to takeover the role as king at such a young age.
Sun has dangerous magic, magic that the creator wanted to exploit for evil purposes, the creator will even use and harm his youngest children as a way to exploit Sun. So to prevent that fate Sun decided the best course of action would be to separate practically all of the siblings to ensure the creator couldn’t find them.
The creator forcefully took over the throne once again.
Moon secretly visited Lunar, as Lunar was the only triplet he knew the location of at the time. He hadn’t seen Sun in six years after an argument about keeping everyone safe, where Sun ran away and Moon could never find him. The triplets were 8 years old when this argument occurred.
Moon was captured by the creator and locked in his own head while ‘roboticized,’ his body was also altered, but after the creator of this au was defeated Moon eventually got control of his body back. Wow I somehow managed to mess with roboticization while keeping Moon’s consistent trauma, I actually don’t know how I managed to do that.
Sun’s probably only got about a decade after the reunion before he probably dies due to his magic slowly poisoning himself
Sun has the false last name of Evelyn while in hiding for 14 and a half years. What is his actual last name? I don’t know yet.
Joke concept: Trashcan man was the King before Sun and all of the siblings second ‘parent,’ he was divorcing the creator and the creator killed him, leading to his exile and need to overthrow his own children. This one is funny to think about, tragic, but funny!
Should I give the triplets magic instruments?

rank all of the 6 lunar chronicles books! i've asked a few of my friends irl this and ive seen very differing opinions so im curious (and ive seen how much you like ranking so..😂)
LOLLLL yeah ranking is my favourite thing ever ever ever ever ever ever its so fun okay (this is kinda long sorry hahaha) :
winter - this probably isnt a shocker, bc well ^^^ my url😭 literally what does this book NOT have. its 800+ pages, it contains so many perspectives, every single ship, every character dynamic is fully formed, the plot is insane and weaves together so well, the drama, the luna visuals, JACINTER, MISS WINTER HAYLE BLACKBURN.... like......... name a better book.... exactly. winter > everything. this is my go to book to reread and i think that its actually etched into the grooves of my brain. i have 2 copies of this book and they are my prized possessions
fairest - okay this ranking might be controversial, and i hate levana as much as everyone else does(just a disclaimer lol). but I LOVEEEE a character study, specially when said character is a villain. i read fairest after i'd completed all of the main 4 books and it just added so many more layers to the lunar characters (winter, levana, jacin etc), and also introduces us to evret, who is talked about in the main series but as we know he dies before the events of tlc :( but i loved his character and i found this book so interesting, also as a winter girl it was cool to see her parents, and her as a baby / toddler,, and also the og trio winter, jacin and selene / cinder own my WHOLE soul bc they are soooo <33333333333333 this book actually breaks my heart soo bad every time but i still crave rereading it bc its so good
cinder - ahhh when everything was somewhat simple, i like rereading this one to just go back to square one and like. reminisce on how everything begun and look at all of the seeds marissa planted (like that brief mention of winter and the descriptions of jacin aka the blond guard or whatever it was they described him as) . and i just love the kaider of it all of course and idk this one is just so nostalgic to me
scarlet - something about this book just keeps me on edge every time i read it. i literally cannot put it down once i start it and even though i know all of the plot twists and everything now im just constantly hooked. i love the visuals of this book, with the farm in rieux, and futuristic paris, and the fight in the abandoned opera house, soo cool. also i love how well this book in particular ties into little red riding hood because every single time i read the part about michelle actually being ran under glamour, aka the wolf disguised as the grandma like in the og fairytale, i am GAGGED its such a cool way to tie it into the lore of this series. annndddd i feel like i do talk about scarlet on here a lot because of winlet but i do NOT talk about wolf enough so let me just say something: wolf is such an interesting and complex character andi loveeee him and i love how much his personality varies from babygirl to actual killer hahhah
cress - i love this book to death BUTT i feel like some of the desert chapters kinda did drag on a little, especially as ive read this book so many times they're the scenes i tend to skim through (and this was true even BEFORE i became a cresswell hater tbh), but other than that this book is 10/10, i love the farafrah chapters especially, and i loved watching jacin be annoying and also i loved watching the rampion crew start to fill out and become bigger, ALSO this book has that iconic miscommunication scene where thorne and cress reunite with the others but thorne is blind so he didnt know that 'the wolf' cress was talking about was just our wolf (ze'ev) and the chaos of all that and cinder and dr erland and them almost getting arrested and escaping on the rampion / iko was pure chaos ALSOOOO this book had the technical introduction of winter bc you hear her adopting scarlet to save her which is fun so yeah !!! if they took out the cresswell of it all this book would be higher bc theres so much to love (and i mean this literally, this book is SO LONG)
stars above - this feels weird to rank because it isnt one full book, its a set of short stories, and the reason why its down here is because the only ones i consistently go back to are something old something new and the princess and the guard, if those two were full books they would probably be in the number 2 or 3 spot tbh (specially princess and the guard), but the thing is with stars above is that theres just a little too much filler for me,, like thornes chapter is pointless and is not interesting at all, and the little andriod actually is really sweet but i wouldve happily sacrificed that and thornes chapter to get more content with the other short stories, as i feel like they had a lot more to say (i do love cinders cameo in the little andriod tho)

I'm opening cruel copy AU for asks.
Make sure you include either CC or cruel copy in your ask or I will assume you're talking to Blue Moon.
Now I was planning on doing the refs first but I don't know when this computer is getting fixed so I'm opening this up. Plus it will help me get the characters down more.
This AU approximately takes place sometime after the Eclipse and Lunar reunite VR chat episode. Where Moon was able to leave via magic not losing his memories and retaining kill code.
But due to the time it took to relink his magic many events already happened outside. Eclipse was able to kill Lunar, Monty and Earth. So when he reentered it was just him and Sun. Sun dies while trying to stop eclipse and Moon is able to kill eclipse in retribution.
Due to losing all of his family though he decides to use the star to resurrect them. Trying to go back to a time of simplicity. (The era where it was just him eclipse sun and Monty doing daily episodes. But with the other characters involved.) Unfortunately they are only resurrected based on what he remembers of them. Also due to the star not being attuned to him. All of them Gain phantom pains.
Blood Moon is it resurrected and will sometimes freeze and zone out.
Lunar is resurrected being slightly blind.
Monty is resurrected with a jaw that will lock up.
Sun is resurrected with a right arm that is partially paralyzed.
Eclipse is resurrected with a painful cough and chest pain.
Earth's resurrected not being able to walk.
All the characters are resurrected with false ideas of the characters.
Sun is chipper but has anxiety and doesn't understand why. He also was good at a lot of things that he wasn't before.
Lunar is also a happy good luck kid. But fears eclipse for a reason he cannot fathom. he doesn't understand why he's friends with Monty.
Montys really good natured, terrible with money, good with business and building. But also doesn't understand why he's friends with lunar.
Blood Moon is a good ally to eclipse despite that not being true. And no longer craves blood but only chaos.
Eclipse is still evil but does not understand why he hates Sun and Moon specifically. He also still makes plans but they always fail And he often has no backups despite that not true.
Earth acts as a sister but not a therapist. Often better at activities in daycare.
Moon is now mute and recluse. Triggered by trauma. It is often that kill code takes over for talking. Otherwise he is relatively unchanged.
That is all the basic information have fun asking these characters. Do not there will be no art pieces accompanying them.

TLC NAMES--CONTAINS SPOILERS
I find the names of the characters in the Lunar Chronicles absolutely hilarious
Cinder - She was literally found in a fire and survived. In Stars Above, there's a scene called The Keeper where Logan Tanner takes Cinder to Michelle Benoit, and near the end of the chapter Michelle names her "Cinder," saying she was "reborn from the cinders."
Lihn - just the word sounds like "N", which is the letter of instability yet also empowers adaptability, which is pretty ironic considering Cinder's story is just her adapting and changing
Selene - In Greek Mythology, Selene was the Titan of the moon, possibly reinforcing the idea that Cinder is the rightful heir to the throne of the moon
Iko - some people define the name Iko as "determined, courageous, and energetic." if that doesn't describe our beloved android then I don't know what does
Kaito - IT LITERALLY MEANS "NOT AVAILABLE" AND HE GETS KIDNAPPED AT THE END OF CRESS AHAHAA
Scarlet - I don't remember when I saw this or who posted it, but I saw something that said "the story between Scarlet and Ran is Little Red Riding Hood. the story between Scarlet and Wolf is Beauty and the Beast" and the more I thought about it the more it made sense. In Beauty and the Beast, Beauty's name literally describes her. When Scarlet introduces herself, something along the lines of "like your hair?" is always said. Her names describes a key part of her appearance, and she's a bit hot-headed, AND Wolf isn't as hostile as his appearance suggests. As for Little Red Riding Hood? She has a signature red hoodie that she wears constantly, and she's on her way to find her grandma. Ran is disguised as her grandmother the third time we meet him and he kills her--with a bite, no less.
Benoit - this is French for "blessed," which I find kind of ironic considering everything that happens to her
Ze'ev - it means "wolf", another connection to the whole "the-story-between-Scarlet-and-Wolf-is-Beauty-and-the-Beast" thing. His name describes what he is: a wolf.
Kesley - Kesley essentially means "extreme," which definitely defines Wolf and every single Lunar
Carswell - it means "well where the watercress grows." 1) this is ironic, since the first thing he did with Cress was fall to Earth in a satellite into the desert, but 2) he sees her grow and change and mature over the story
Thorne - Near the middle of the original story of Rapunzel, the witch throws the prince out the window of the tower and he falls into the thorns at the base, pricking his eyes and causing him to go blind. His sight was returned when, after traveling through the desert, he finds Rapunzel, and her tears fall into his eyes and somehow heal them. In Cress, Mira ties him up and during the fall he hits his head, making him blind. After traveling through the desert, getting separated, reuniting, and then getting the cure which just so happen to be administrated via an eyedropper, he can see again.
Cress - A cress is a green vegetable, like a rapunzel
Darnel - it means "little nook." Again, ironic. Cress spent a good chunk of her life in a small satellite without much room to maneuver, and Dr. Erland spent a lot of his career in a lab and dies in the quarantine room. Cress's hiding places throughout the books are always little nooks (under beds, in closets/cabinets, etc.)
Winter - mostly just a reference to Snow White, but I do find it interesting that the first scene we get from her pov is her freezing and breaking
Blackburn - Blackburn is a town in northwestern England, and I'm sure it gets cold often. the name itself means "black brook." funny how the story surrounds a family who's worst injuries have been from fire, yet their names have aqua meanings, huh?
Jacin - Jacin means "healer." It's stated clearly that Jacin wanted to be a doctor but became part of the royal guard, and yet he's the best healer Winter has. He helps her through her hallucinations and actually cleans and dresses the scars on her face when she originally got them.
Clay - Clay is easily moldable, and this could just be a statement to just how weak his gift is and how submissive he can be
Levana - Levana means "to rise," defining her role as queen and rise to power. However, a different meaning that I find hilarious is Levana means "protector of newborns." she literally tried to kill her three-year-old niece so she could have the throne. though there's more to the story in Fairest, that's what it all boils down to
If you find any more definitions, let me know :)

It's close to midnight, something evil's lurking in the dark. Under the moonlight, you see a sight that almost stops your heart. You try to scream, but terror takes the sound before you make it. You start to freeze, as horror looks you right, between the eyes- You're paralyzed.
THE STRIKE OF MIDNIGHT - HALLOWEEN PLOT DROP #1
As the witching hour approaches, the Coven begins to gather at the center of the dance floor. The plan is for the Supreme to give the Lunar Cove Residents a toast before the clock strikes midnight and before the guests’ masks are finally removed. Then, the Coven is supposed to lead their new members back behind closed doors to perform the binding ritual and welcome them officially into the Coven. Only, before Poppy can even get a chance to clink her glass, a chill runs through the air and, amongst the crowd of masked faces, one by one, the dead begin to appear.
The ghosts of the Thirteen who were killed by the hunter attack thirty years ago stand before you. The same hunter attack that was referenced throughout the newspaper articles that a mysterious someone littered across town the night of the blackout. But, that’s not all. The ghosts of the previous council members who have passed also appear within the crowd, no longer transparent, but in the flesh, and even more departed loved ones are slowly appearing one by one, magically, slipping through the thin veil between the living and the dead. These ghosts may have died, but for one night and one night only, they will be able to walk among you in the form they previously held before. Raven, the late supreme, is a supreme again. A vampire who was killed during the mysterious hunter attack and who, based on all modern-day records of dark magic, should not be allowed to be brought back, is a vampire once more. But, this isn’t your typical dark magic and these aren’t your typical resurrected. This has the markings of an ancient spell dating back to the time of the Reapers written all over it. And what’s worse? For 24 hours, you may have your loved ones back. But, if the ghosts would like to stay, they must kill another, so that they can be able to live on in their place.
REMINDERS
As mentioned before, this is a plot-driven event that will run until 10/31 out of character while taking place solely on Halloween (10/31) in character.
Your characters will have until sunrise to make it through the night in a town now filled with the dead. They can reunite with lost loved ones who may not have a want to try to stick around after the 24 hours are up. Or they can have a run-in with a ghost who wants to stay- having to fight back or run away so they don’t become a ghost while the dead can live on in their place.
Not everyone who has ever died in Lunar Cove will be brought back from this spell, so if you don’t want your character to have to interact with someone they lost, you don’t have to. But, if you would like to, please feel free to play out said interactions on the dash.
The dead will not appear transparent/as ghosts, but in the previous form they held before they died, i.e. if they died as a fae, they will be a fae for the next 24 hours until they return to being ghosts. This means that whether your character is a spirit raiser or not, they will be able to physically see them and be able to interact with them and vice a versa.
If you happen to play a witch who has spirit-raising- their magic won’t make much of a difference when it comes to the dead, unless they choose to use dark magic and full-blown necromancy. With necromancy, they will be able to control the dead, but this necromancy like with any dark magic will come with a cost (Please message the main for approval on any necromancy-specific plots).
If you happen to play a vampire- given that the Dead have been brought back to life with a sophisticated spell, vampires will be able to siphon the magic out of an individual ghost, sending them back from which they came. But, they will only be able to send one dead individual back at a time and will have to wait an hour before being able to absorb the magic out of another.
If you happen to play a coven member- the coven can also work together to undo the magic binding the dead to Lunar Cove for the night, but similar to vampires, they will only be able to send one dead individual back from which they came at a time (having to wait an hour before being able to undo the spell from another) and this magical reversal will have to be done in pairs of 2, with coven members only. If you were supposed to be initiated into the coven during Halloween, unfortunately, you’re still not an official member yet, given that the initiation was never able to take place and will not be able to send the dead back from which they came.
Interactions with Previous Council Members- If you would like your character to interact with a previous council member who was brought back, we ask that you please reach out to the respective player of the current leader. I.e. if you want to plot with the late supreme Raven who has returned for one evening only, please reach out to Kourt who plays our current supreme to plot out the thread/what would occur.
Interactions with the Thirteen- Feel free to interact with the thirteen on the dash as NPCs and make up the interactions on your own. Just please note that these NPCs would not know how they died outside of the fact that a hunter killed them. But, if you would rather have an admin join in on one of your threads, playing the character of one of the Thirteen, we would be more than happy to do so as well. Whichever option you would feel more comfortable playing out is fine by us.
We know there is a lot of lore that goes into this plot drop, so feel free to reach out if you have questions. We will be in the discord server ready to answer any and every question that may pop up.
The tag for the event is lunarcoveevent3. Everything from pictures, outfits, & threads etc. should be under this tag. Starters should have both the starter and event tag. This event is mandatory and, as always, big plots (such as injuries etc.) should be discussed with the admins before playing them out on the dash, so if you have any big plots you want to do, please let us know and, last but not, we hope you have fun and can’t wait to see how you react to even more plot drops to come!

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
[ physical books, read in english ]
a four-part sci-fi/fantasy romance & action series inspired by classic fairy tales (and sailor moon, apparently). each part introduces one new heroine and her romantic relationship into the plot. the story is set in far-off, futuristic post-WW4 version of the earth where the continents have been divided into just a few very large countries, and the moon is its own colonised planet named luna whose inhabitants for whatever reason have psychic abilities to manipulate other people both physically and mentally by entering their minds. luna has been ruled by an authoritarian tyrant queen ever since its real princess died in an accident and has been isolated ever since. meanwhile, the earth has been plagued by a widespread pandemic that has no cure.
#1 Cinder: cinder is a cyborg mechanic living with her asshole stepmother and two stepsisters in "the eastern commonwealth" a.k.a somewhere in east asia (china??). one day, cinder is asked to fix an android for the commonwealth's prince and they become acquainted. this starts a chain of events where she begins to figure out what the plague tormenting the earth is really about, eventually finding out that [spoilers for pretty much everything from here onwards] she's not only immune to the disease but also a lunar and the real princess of luna who got turned into a cyborg instead of dying. also the commonwealth's emperor dies and prince kai becomes the new emperor, and then the evil queen of luna wants to marry him in order to create a new-found alliance between the earth and luna. cinder crashes a ball at the royal palace to warn kai that the queen actually wants to kill him and is imprisoned in the process.
#2 Scarlet: scarlet is a girl from france europe whose grandmother has gone missing. one day she meets a wolf-like street fighter guy (who's unimaginatively called wolf throughout the story) who turns out to be part of the group that has kidnapped her grandmother, so they leave on a journey to go look for her in paris. wolf is eventually revealed to be a bioengineered supersoldier serving the lunar queen levana but scarlet is just too sexy so he falls for her and starts defying his master. meanwhile in the eastern commonwealth, cinder escapes from prison with an american fugitive named thorne who has stolen a military spaceship. they also go looking for scarlet's grandmother for plot reasons, and scarlet turns out to be the granddaughter of the doctor who turned cinder into a cyborg after saving her from the accident that supposedly killed the lunar princess. they all escape together with the stolen spaceship.
#3 Cress: cress is a giftless lunar girl who's been orbiting the earth in a satellite in secret, hidden there by one of the lunar queen's closest servants to be used for hacking jobs whenever needed. she gets in contact with cinder&co with her crazy tech skills and asks them to save her, but her captor finds this out and a showdown ensues where the satellite crashes to earth with her and thorne in it, scarlet is captured by the lunars and taken to luna, and a random lunar guard who piloted cress's captor's spaceship joins cinder's side. cress and thorne land in a desert and hike through it together until they meet a group of lunar traffickers who kidnap cress but take her to the same hotel that cinder&co are residing in after travelling to africa for plot reasons. the reunited group start planning an infiltration of luna to stop the wedding between the lunar queen and kai and to end the queen's reign for good.
#4 Winter: winter is queen levana's stepdaughter and loved by everyone in luna for being the most beautiful girl ever, but she suffers from the lunar disease of refusing to use her gift to manipulate others. turns out that the captured scarlet is being kept as winter's human pet in the lunar royal palace, and the rebellious lunar guard, jacin who joined cinder's side is winter's love interest, childhood friend, and unofficial personal knight. once he's back in luna, the queen asks him to murder winter because the people love the princess too much and she's a jealous bitch. jacin instead helps both winter and scarlet to escape from the palace. meanwhile cinder&co carry out their plan to infiltrate luna. this book is asses long and i'm too lazy to summarise it all for myself here but basically they all reunite in luna and incite the plan to dethrone levana by rallying the common people of luna against her and also get some of the bioengineered wolf soldiers to turn against her and all kinds of things happen. also cinder and kai somehow became a couple throughout all this despite almost never being in the same place. also also there's iko the android who's one of the best characters but idk how to include her in these summaries, she's cinder's sidekick and the best
➕ love the fairy tale theme. anything to do with fairy tales just wins me over immediately no matter how many times it's been done already, i don't care
➕ i adore the characters, i pretty much liked them all. which is rare for me. i like the ships also even if i'm not usually really into this kind of het shit where each girl has a designated boy and then they're so very heterosexual together and whatever, but this one did it in a comfy way for me. maybe it's because i genuinely found myself fangirling over thorne/cress kinda hard in the third book, fave ship hands down (and thorne is my favourite guy, what a himbo playboy, also the last book kind of hinted a bit that he may not be straight so i'll take it.) i feel more ambivalent about kai/cinder who didn't get all that much time together so it felt a bit "he's a boy, she's a girl, what more do you need" plus wolf/scarlet is kinda ehh i felt kinda meh wahtever about the whole wolf pack thing. which resulted in me kinda shipping cinder and wolf in the last book tbh? but like i don't mind the actual ships, it's all good
➕ world buildiiiiing… this is a bit embarrassing to admit but this is one of the few sci-fi novels i've read. i haven't liked the genre super much before (because it often feels a bit. complicated with the science stuff) but this could act as a gateway series? lol
➕ idk i just really enjoy the way marissa meyer's prose flows. it's a lot like how i want to write myself. i'd say it's a lot like how i do write but that would be a bit too flattering towards myself but you know what i mean
➖ once you're finished with the whole series and have the whole picture of its tone, this isn't such an issue anymore, but. a lot of what happens to the characters here is painfully inconsequential. like a character gets hurt or something such happens to them, you're like ohh noo!!! but then the thing is fixed later so nothing permanently bad happens to them after all and you're just. oh. okay. like for example thorne losing his eyesight but then it's just, cured within a couple of pages in the beginning of the next book. there were times when it felt like meyer chickened out from doing anything truly consequential with her characters. but then again, at the end i was kinda happy giddy about the happy ending for everyone soooo
➖ while i say i do like the ships… they were also all painfully similarly written once they got together. extremely similar making-out scenes for all of them, everyone going all horny immediately. and since there's four pairs total by the end, it got repetitive and suddenly lacked so much of the personality the characters have otherwise. kai and cinder especially were somehow wow wait whahaha would either of them even know how to like, kiss someone. cress also, why would she be like a natural at this stuff when she's spent her whole life in a satellite in space consuming unrealistic romance shit
➖ i adored the last book but it also started getting seriously messy with all the changing perspectives. the first book pretty much only has cinder's PoV, maybe kai in there iirc?? anyway by the fourth book there are not only eight PoVs of the four pairs but also iko, levana and adri, at least. i mean… i don't HATE changing PoVs but… it's a lot. and sometimes you don't hear of a character in reaallly long when there's 10 different ones to rotate. meyer did a good job at keeping it together regardless but like, really. and my 4kingdoms has been called confusing for having four PoVs
➖ kinda touched this already but this is a very very very heteronormative series. like there will be 0 surprises and nothing interesting at all in that front. maybe this came out a bit too early (finished in 2015) to be wholly inclusive.
⭐ score: 4 -- it's a strong four, i gave the first three books that and winter a 5, definitely now a big comfort series for me. there's apparently supplementary stories also but i'm not sure where to get them, i've read all the rest by borrowing the books from my library and don't know if i really care to go out of my way to get them any other way. and there's apparently an animated movie in the making, i'm a little scared of that buuuut i'm more lenient with animation than live action adaptations at least. ah well as long as they make thorne beautiful, if he's in it

what’s up have a helpful list of tags:
pla roleswap au: featuring 15 year old chosen hero Ingo and 28 year old Warden Akari, who cares for Lady Sneasler.
zoroark possession au: general tag for the zoroark possession au! there’s three main variations of it-
one where Ingo ends up in Hisui still in his human body (but damn is he weird)
and one where Ingo gets yeeted while outside of his human body and becomes the Pearl Clan’s new Noble Pokemon, with Akari as his Warden.
then there’s the modern au, which there is a separate tag for. come here if you want everyone in the Pearl Clan to be a Zoroark as they fight for survival against Champion Volo and the Unova League. Come here if you want to see Emmet get brainwashed and fight against his brother!
tfw you and the zorua that possessed you as an infant have a timeshare arrangement for your body. that’s how you get Cyan.
if you combine the roleswap AU with the lord zoroark AU, you get Akari as a Zoroark who is yeeted to Hisui and becomes Lady Zoroark, and a fifteen year old Ingo who becomes her warden.
pla ageswap au: a significantly less serious au where Ingo and Akari switch ages with one another after a mishap in a space-time distortion. They’re stuck like this for the postgame portion of PLA and for a good clip after returning to the present.
zoroark mama au: or the beta zoroark possession AU, where Ingo is abducted by a Hisuian Zoroark as an infant and raised by her for years before reuniting with Emmet.
reincarnation au: Ingo dies in Hisui. He lives again in Sinnoh. He grows up, goes on a Pokemon journey, and slowly remembers.
reincarnation au but ingo is literally reborn in Hisui instead bc he died in the space time rift and this was Arceus’ attempt to fix that.
reincarnation au but Ingo is reborn in Ultra Space and becomes a part of the Ultra Recon Squad.
team chaos au: in which Ingo and Dawn are kidnapped by the leader of an evil team, and in their place, Kuroaku and Akari are born. In order to get them back, their loved ones form a united front- both to save them, and to thwart the plans of Team Chaos’ leader.
emmet in hisui au: an AU in which Emmet is yeeted into Hisui with Ingo, BUT Ingo still loses his memories.
spy x family au: exactly what it says on the tin. Zisu is a master spy, Ingo’s a master assassin, Akari is a baby telepath and together they form a fake family.
lunar duo au: or that AU where Ingo and Akari are merged with Darkrai and Cresselia respectively.
reverse time travel AU: AU in which Ingo and Akari are born in Hisui and time travel hundreds of years to Unova’s future in order to help stop the rifts that have been forming there.
faller gene AU: Ingo/Zisu AU in which they get together in Hisui and have children- a pair of fraternal twins... only for one to end up slipping through space-time to modern day Unova.
giratina’s deal AU: AU in which Emmet dies in the rift, and Ingo sacrifices his body so he can live again, and is changed into an Alpha Zoroark by Giratina. There’s also a version where Ingo dies in the rift, and Emmet trades his body for him and is revived as Ingo’s Gliscor. You know, as a treat!
vision share AU: AU in which Ingo and Emmet have a special twin power- the ability to see what the other is seeing when they cover one of their eyes. This would be great for Hisui... except Ingo loses an eye upon arrival, and loses his power. Emmet, on the other hand...
Construct AU: AU in which Ingo and Akari are Constructs- human-shaped puppets that gain full sentience upon receiving love.
altered timeline au: AU in which Ingo and Akari were NOT meant to go to Hisui, and their actions there irrevocably change the timeline... but not if they can help it. Ingo and Akari villain arc go.
paradox au: AU in which Ingo regularly blips through time and space. He has no control of this. It leads to antics.
giratina possession AU: Ingo gets used as an unwilling vessel by Giratina. Everyone has a terrible time.
magical girl AU: Magical girl Akari takes on the frenzied Nobles of Hisui, aided by her fairy partner... Emmet who got turned into a Floette. Thanks Arceus.
ceruledge ingo AU: Ingo learns firsthand why you should touch mysterious armor- because you could end up possessed by a wrathful spirit. Oops!

LUNAR; CH15
18+ Content: General fluff/angst. Din POV. Word Count: 5138 Pairing: Din Djarin/F!Reader
The Mandalorian is a driven warrior — traversing the galaxy in search of the ancient Jedi — but everyone has their weaknesses, and he’s no different. The Bounty Hunter possessed three in fact. One he’s discovered—The Child. The remaining two, though, he wasn’t aware of their existence. At least, not until he meets a valorous Sharpshooter underneath a moonless night sky; then he’s plummeting down a dark mission of self-discovery, questioning his morals and his Creed while the moon taunts him, the phases of the satellite corresponding to his personal revelations. However, the Girl has a dark past that may come to inflict hardships on the Mandalorian and the Child; it’s up to the Bounty Hunter to decide her fate. Read on AO3 / Series Masterlist / Playlist

EPILOGUE
Whispers.
Din is subjected to whispers surrounding him and clinging to his beskar like seafoam on his boots; sensitive and hushed tones aimed to show their condolences, their pity, regarding the absence of light beside him. They raise their voice no louder than whispers out of fear, not sympathy—sterile beskar contaminated with the sun’s liquidised crux intimidating them into tight-lipped smiles.
Sorrow radiates off him in potent waves that roll over the settlement to drown them in his grieving. It doesn’t need to be voiced. There’s a plenitude of evidence that stacks up against the presumption; the reclaimed rifle adhered to slippery beskar as opposed to cradling its framework into soft flesh, a tattered cloak that now only stretches across one side of his back, broad shoulders appearing so compact in on themselves, and a heavy-footed stride that simply speaks anguish.
If those factors aren’t indication enough, the blood does it.
Dried blood that coats his tan appendage but not his gloved—funny, how he always seems to dirty his hands—thick streaks that have yet to reach that dry point smeared against his armour, dark patches on his flight suit that adheres to the skin beneath.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but the scene of The Mandalorian—a stoic warrior capable of pulling the tides that’ll swallow their settlement whole—so vanquished and mourning the woman he loved in such dreaded silence is worth a million and then some.
The element of a bare hand no longer pining to envelope itself from intrusive eyes is grisly. Abnormal. Eerie, all most, as if Mando’s resolve will snap before their inspections. Children are guided behind the adults with a subtle hand but it doesn’t pass unnoticed.
Din suspends in the maelstrom of the locals, helmet burdensome on his shoulders, vacantly swaying side-to-side as though struggling to remain awake on his feet; struggling to not let slip of his eyelids and succumb to the mud that’ll pose as his eternal resting grounds. If it weren’t for the slumbering speck of green nestled in the arms of Omera, perhaps he would allow himself to sink to his knees for the second time that night, no—third. Third time.
There’s no communication between them, no are you okay’s or I’m so sorry’s, just a simple exchange of glances that reads she’s gone, my girl is gone when Din recovers the Child from her arms. Familiar weight in the nook of his elbow, the same elbow her head resided as she lay dormant, he reverts back between the compound aisle of onlookers.
It’s all the same expression—that pouted bottom lip and upturned eyebrow, colourful eyes attentive to his exposed hand and gory armour; anything besides the chilling black slit of his visor, the red thumbprint of a much larger hand impression sitting in the corner of his view field—Din’s chin descends to his chest to avert his eyes from the hands on their loved ones, pulling them to a warmth he’ll soon forget the feeling of, the silent declaration of adoration upon seeing such a depleted man without his.
Voices are deteriorating before him, echoing and remote as if they were isolated across a vast canyon—everybody’s tone blending into one heaped bulk he can’t decipher who or where they’re coming from; a procedure his mind conducted to dissociate from the pity timbres.
Caben…
...I know.
Beskar wrenches their route, initiating eye contact with the two farmers his love died to save—died so that they could live fulfilling lives while she’s devoured by parasites—and his fist clenches by his side. Din doesn’t blame them for her demise, not really, she never would’ve inflicted such a gnarly wound if it wasn’t for the fact the Guild was after him; the fact that rescuing a helpless child would lead to a chain of events that brings him such an acquainted feeling of despair.
And he’d do it all over again if the situation arises—that’s what causes his slitted fingers to curl into his palms and draw blood out the gaps between. Din had breached many rules, some of his Creed’s and others his personal pledges; do not fall victim to a girl’s loving touches. They were there for good reason. Din’s not mad at Caben and Stoke nor Omera for informing him of their situation. Din’s mad at himself because, despite knowing the outcome of it all and despite how her name has been carved into his ribs, he would never not rescue the Child.
Even if that statement alone induces a thousand scenarios in which his beloved dies in his arms. Perhaps it’s his private method of torture; a way to inflict damage onto himself that doesn’t bruise skin but the sensitive heart beneath it all.
Caben and Stoke quiver underneath the leer of a visor blemished with vermillion—someone so black and white touched with the coloured essence of a cherished one—he’s never donned so much vibrancy. Not even when he wore his shoddy spraypainted duraplast armour had he been so rich in hues that no eyes should witness.
Din takes mercy on the men and tears his helmet away, feet falling with a burden into the forest haunted with a spirit that’ll never be able to rest.
It takes a day of being in hyperspace to reach overfamiliar craggy rocks and whipping sand granules—a day of being confined within his home, now a duralloy prison, with a fallen star coursing ripples of glacial bursts. The corpse of his sweetheart had been covered with what little material remained of the cloth on his back for the Child’s sake, not his. Din could never want that pretty face cloaked even with the browning plasma cracking on the surface of her cheek, the dark crescents beneath eyes that holds overtones that now only live in his head and windburned lips that once felt warm and smooth against his own roughened.
There’s a steep drop to his death waiting for a mere slip of his boots against the coarse siltstone—internal bleeding upon the impact that would cater his physique with that unaccounted heat one last time—but Din is versatile and makes it down with limited injuries; some grazes into the paddings of fingers and a sore ball of the foot where he’d dug his boots into an uneven surface a little too vigorously.
Soft sand sits beneath his feet in contrast to the grittiness above, a result of the lack of rays that reach between the gorge. It’s darkened down these parts, plagued with skeletons of unfortunate victims to the brittle canyon edgings.
A mote of black pokes upright from the golden ground, the end of a matte-finished cylinder storing pale grains into its blueprint. The ground swallows his knees whole and adheres itself to his flight suit where it’ll reside in the empty space that’s left behind for journeys to come.
Din combs the sand with cupped hands, bare digits burrowing deep and bandaging around the target to wedge free of its tenacious grip. It extracts from the planet’s crust with falling particles from its bore reuniting with its sum beneath his weight—a shattered chamber decays in his clutch. The stock, its untethered support deeper in the terra, withdraws into his idle grip.
It’s a straightforward design—a barrel he’s stared down into more times than he can account for—but there’s sentimental value in its mere existence, despite Din never having any interest in the dark oil encrusted with scratches and weathered patches around a jammed trigger. Such a stocky weapon for arms crafted of supple beams. The tide could easily harness such a defying artifact; digest the barrel whole into the belly of its trenches, the increased pressure simply too great for it to ever leave. Not the beams, though—they should never be required to carry such unstable weight, such compactness.
The amban rifle was perfect for those hands; nimble and delicate, easy to employ.
Salvaged firearm in hand, Din finds himself before the entrance of a shoddy dome shack; a flap of shroud swaying one with the wind eased to the side with the back of his knuckles, helmet dipping as he sets a lagging foot inside. The sparseness, the emptiness, drowns his lungs and constricts his airways—it’d been ransacked, by Jawas presumably, all of the deconstructed mechanics that should be gathering dust pinched from the schism-riddled wooden slab.
Disconnected halves of a rifle are gently laid to rest on the surface, the skeleton of a shattered Creed shortly following. Its critical gaze eats at the delicate man frontwards, toned eyes melting to a bubbling molten transparisteel that scars his assaulted morals. Three tan fingers spin the helmet on its axis to face the duracrete, allowing the pang in his temples to subside.
Din’s calves encased with his duraplast greeves butt against the edge of a mediocre cot, not too contrasting to his own—cramped with little to no support, but it’s stable and it works—he envisions a bandaged figure curled up on the durasteel, nothing but an oversized poncho to supply warmth that wasn’t necessary on such a heated planet. He sinks to the bunk and pursues the comfort of a merciless prod in his waist, a sweat-slicked forehead pressing into the wall.
If he closes his eyes and breathes deep he’s rewarded with a faint whiff of a rich syrup that combats the stale crux on his platings—the point of a pinky muscle stimulated with a fleeting taste of his favourite flavours. Sand particles deposited by the gusts of winds flood his ventilators from the cot beneath him, slicing through the linings of his insides. In lieu of coughing and spluttering Din deeply exhales and laxes his muscles; the overwhelming requirement for rest inevitably forcing his mind to disable and his breathing to even out.
Kuiil and his craftsmanship came up short as expected.
Even with the labour of three lifetimes, I cannot fix this. I have never seen something this shattered be repaired before. Perhaps you are not supposed to restore its properties.
Din respected the Ugnaught too much to vocalise his thoughts—what a load of bantha—and opted to depart from Arvala-7 before its granular claws burrowed into him more than they already had; his boots packed to his ankles with hot grit that converts the soles of his feet to blisters, flight suit drenched in sweat and blood.
Rather than dedicating a whole five minutes of changing attire, rather than finally ridding himself of the constant reminder of his dead lover clinging to his skin and clothes, he punches the navigation and activates the auto-piloting to his next destination.
The Child has developed some independence in the peak of Din’s mourning, often finding himself entertained with a drifting gear knob in the vacancy of the air before him—he almost appeared aware of the situation, aware of the black hole in Din’s chest narrowing his interiors and destabilising his balance—and he no longer needed assistance to vacate from the Crest when the hatch extended.
His guardian, on the other hand, wasn’t so eager to leave his penitentiary. It was quiet and cold in comparison to the hustle and bustle outside the duralloy cell, the loud exclaim of a snappy mechanic, no matter how late into the night it had to be, scolding her droids.
Are ya looking to get shot at? You know the drill, back away from it!
Din straightens himself out from the floor between the cockpit and the hold’s ladder, the one place he didn’t encounter the phantom of waning memories; they plagued these walls beyond belief. Recollections of brief intimate instances strewn throughout the hold, his bunk, the cockpit—it made operating his spacecraft a difficult chore.
He does his utmost not to glimpse at the emptiness atop the crates, the browning streaks that run down the slopes of the cubes and into the grooves of the Razor Crest’s base, but there’s only a limited measure of self-control residing within him and its line has been blurry as of late. Submitting to the gravitational pull of his eyes is inescapable and he risks a peak; a raggedy cloak that concealed gelid mounds now servicing as a blanket for the bare inventory containers.
Shoulders tighten and footwork falters as he maneuvers to the hatch, the idle purring of a preservation machine in the far corner a reminder of what he’d gone and done—guilt and grief goading his esophagus but he swallows it, greets the sting in his walls with a gruff clear of his throat.
What’s the big idea of stationing yourself here? She doesn’t appear in bad shape at all. I ain’t free parking, ya know.
Shiny credits are flung in her direction, the satchel containing the remainder of what was once a reimbursement to the bisected rifle in his leathers, he doesn’t allow him the privilege of feeling sorrow upon parting with them. Din doesn’t deserve to experience such sensitive emotions when he’s the trigger that snapped against a guard—a cherry bolt of a hand jabbing through the wind and tossing delicate goods down a ravine.
Peli eyeballs the exposed spinal plating of the Mandalorian and compiles the fragmented pieces of his physique, slotting in each individual aspect from his impaired posture down to the crust on his steel. Shards of a rusting man relocate, twisting and turning—no, not there...not quite...oh...—until it connects, a brittle sharp-edged outline of a man receding.
But that’s all it is.
An outline. Incomplete. His jam-packed insides—his essence, his life, his love—has been swindled from within leaving a husk of an exhausted bereaved soul ricocheting off the internal boundaries of beskar in search of its partner.
Din deposits himself in a corner of the hangar tucked away where the shadows push and pull his limbs, steering his appendages across the surface of an eroding strongbox showcasing the deconstructed blaster. Phantoms of apprehensive hands ghost overhead, their primary function programmed to destroy and slaughter not replenish and recover.
Reparations are out of the question. It’s beyond demolished; hardly decent for a mantlepiece let alone functional. It’s laid out like a butchered tip-yip primed for roasting, components scattered and misplaced; a muddle not even the greatest gunslinger could capitalise from.
Engravings on the stock of the rifle stabilise him, a gorgeous aluminium that shines beneath all the oil and base of obsidian. Its lines paint a picture of nothing, overlapping and crossing into a mess, but it fires a brisk bolt against his heartplate all the same. Bare fingers spelunk its origins for its quirks, its stories of a stubborn girl entrapped within it; utilising the elongated barrel like a third arm, a trigger snappy as her words, the scenic stock a mirror to the beauty beside it.
Roughened fingers were a by-product of being consistently handsy throughout the decades but when perceiving the sun rays they were reborn entirely. Soft and smooth and careful. Now that the sun no longer responds to his touch, now that he’s left with cool inscribed metal, they’ve reverted to their nature. Sandy. Sharp. Aggressive.
Aggressive fingers that match the stained violence of his Creed—his beskar that simply won’t return to that elegant silver shine no matter how desperately he rubs against the surface. Water sloshes back and forth in the modest trough of a sink, a tainted red-brown colour accumulating at the bottom provoking an ache in the tender organ residing in his centre.
He’d practically been forced into the shoddy refresher by the mechanic—you got the kid all anxious, just look at you, go get that gunk off yourself.
That’s all it can be perceived as by others; nothing more than filthy smears required to be rid of simply for presentation—to preserve the comfort of others no matter how intense the guilt chews against his muscles as her pith dilutes. Gunk.
Din muffles a sob. It’s her.
She’s abandoning him for a second time. What little of her refuses to part from him is so encrusted it’s become a part of his armour, inserting herself into the nicks and grooves of his platings his fingers fail to penetrate.
Mindless hands shift to his lesioned flesh, unsteady digits summarising the hills of rashy bumps visible only through the lens of steamy caf. Phantoms of lingering touches mark tan terrain in the shapes of slender fingers and cottony lips on his chest, his stomach, neck and face; everywhere that’d been blessed with the loveliest of kisses and nips from the Sun now scarred over.
Pendant held firmly in place pulses a scorching burst through the tissue on his sternum, the beskar skull leaving its claim. Its fraying thread drifts to thick fingers and lays loose between them, irritable skin of a palm flaring at its exuding heat and crisp pang; none of its physical but it’s as though he’s brushed with a hand of a million degrees all the same.
Shiny silver occupies the empty space beside him, a lithe barrel glittering in the substandard lighting of a crummy Tatooine refresher; heckling the helmetless man but he could never glance its way in any sort of negative class.
It hurts to connect with the beskar pendant and perhaps he deserves to hurt, but he can’t sustain it, can’t confront that sting in his throat and eyes each time it shifts against his chest.
Din weaves the lace of his material initiation through the metal perch beneath the shiny stretch of a barrel; dangling and showcased on the paired rifle of his Sun where it’ll reside—operating as a threatening symbol to partner his visor against enemies who dare glance his way.
And it did, far more successful than he could’ve imagined; rumours of his descent traversing parsecs faster than his Crest could vie with.
Did you hear about that Mandalorian—supposedly lost his lover and went rogue. I heard he turned berserk, he’s killed a town’s worth of criminals! Someone ought to lock him up before he turns on us. He’s a threat to us all!
Din didn’t much care for the presumptions. It wasn’t as though he frequented locations to be overwhelmed with the local’s support, though it made discreetly getting around a challenge—no longer were the days he could enter a cantina with a few intrigued eyes devising a way to lay claim to his beskar before returning to their booze.
But now it was people confronting him in false hope he’d be too deep in mourning to fight against their attacks. It never did end well for them.
He’d become a magnet for death, even of his own.
It wasn’t righteous to die in that common house. Not when those disproportionate black eyes observed from the arms of a droid; deep, dark masses that depicted more emotion for his guardian’s condition than perhaps they should. He’d been selfishly greeting his emerging end with an inconsiderate let me have a warrior’s death. It’d be a lie if he was to deny its translation; let me see my beloved.
As is his entire life, Din’s been allocated with responsibilities far out of his expertise but he’s not relinquishing his guardianship to the kid that easily. It’s not as if he could be transferred to any other old sucker either; not everybody has the same compassion for a floppy-eared bounty worth their retirement funds.
No, it wasn’t his time to rest. It’ll come when it’s merited.
That night after the events that’d transpired, Greef Karga bestowed some unusually wise statements underneath the moonless canopy of speckled stars patterning the abyss. Simply reminding Din of its existence; the constant celestials that’ll never desert him no matter what dodgy planet he dwelt.
A new moon is approaching. As a child I had been told stories of a cosmic reset at the commencement of a new cycle; an opportunity to start anew. Perhaps it was all just folklore but it’s fascinating all the same, wouldn’t you agree? I always did like shiny things.
It’d been the vulnerability that encouraged his Guild’s leader to utter those words—that unmistakable change in demeanour since they’d last met, that insecurity swallowing an iron stomach upon hearing a dead name chanted amongst an army of Stormtroopers—Din knew without it being conveyed.
He had been stripped of his privacy and put in the spotlight in front of dozens of lifeforms. A name reserved for a benevolent tone now recognised by the enemy, trespassing on those memories of all the situations it’d been murmured into his bare flesh as if labelling him as a person; a real breathing blood-pumping person and not the Creed he fought for.
Gideon was his name, the man who spoke of his identity as though he crafted it himself. As though he nursed the bruises and traumas of his title and being—not gentle hands that’d remain uncomplaining despite how little Din offered in return.
If Din had inspected his fallen TIE fighter for life, perhaps he could’ve avoided the forthcoming events.
With the naive belief of security, Din encouraged the pursuit of his aspirations rather than the concern of his violations towards his code. His relationship with the Creed had been on thin ice and he’s not quite willing to pardon its strict principles.
An opportunity to start anew.
His brain requests a rebalance—the interest for the Child’s consideration prodding needles into the fleshy mass—demands his sentiments to be torched, cremated until they are stardust particles drifting through the celestials above. They crack and pop in tune to the sizzle of a droughted driftwood pyre bearing the corpse of his lover, profitably filling two needs with one deed; a clear state of mind to focus on his ongoing responsibilities and to allow depleted beams to finally rest across the horizon.
She’d endured suffering enough; receiving punishment from those she trusted, the guilt and onslaught Din presented as a by-product, sustaining wounds until it’d finally become too much.
Even in death, she wasn’t permitted serenity.
Her fucking body is still with me!
It slipped out of his mouth back on Tatooine.
I had to - had to put her in carbonite...she was fuckin’ rotting in my ship. I didn’t know what else to do. What are you supposed to do with the body of your-... I can’t just - just ditch her on some shitty planet all alone like that!
Peli had been of assistance; providing Din somewhere to rest his eyes without breathing in the stench of decaying flesh. She’d even gone ahead and supplied him with a pair of gloves to preserve his corrupted honour though she wouldn’t admit it,—prefer not to recognise you as human, makes it hard to dupe you outta credits if I’m too busy pitying you—she wasn’t repelled by his grieving, the unusual depictions of a man underneath all that shiny steel.
She’d been of more assistance than he could thank her for.
Being on Tatooine facilitated the idea of his Sun’s disposal.
Kote Kyr’am.
It’s the best memorial he could devise. A ceremony he’d attended countless times as a foundling watching his elders fall in battle. The very same elders who’d knock Din upside the head for constructing such an ancient farewell for an aruetii but she’s worthy of nothing less; more, perhaps, but there are no alternatives in the vacancy of his helmet adequate for the burial of a star.
Din’s lips are chapped, his skin is on fire, there’s a rumbling in his stomach. He’s watching his beloved burn to ash underneath the new moon and yet he feels as though he’s the one succumbing to the flames; the heat just as powerful as the dormant embodiment it’s consuming.
Velvety skin he’d allocate his hands, his tongue, and time, never enough time, to now blister and contract, tear and melt, crackle and—
He heaves over, helmet rim caught on a scrunched forehead, and readies his throat for the bite of acid. It doesn’t come. Not even a trickle of saliva disperses. Instead, his lungs impale themselves on his ribcage, contracting and expanding so rapidly he fails to recognise his cheeks are devoured with a downstream.
The salt probes his tastebuds though it’s insufficient to dominate the heavy particles of ablaze flesh. It’s so rich, so potent that it’s evolved to a taste rather than a scent. Din could withstand the odour, his filters stripped the majority, but the taste is intolerable and it just so freely floats in through his agape mouth to nestle among his tongue - as if it belonged there - as if a contrasting sweeter taste didn’t.
Din’s skin reddens from Navarro’s meanspirited terrain but it’s not enough motivation to rise to his feet. He sits there, steel dwelling amongst the molten, and waits because he can’t continue his journeys for two without that flicker of confidence she’s at peace.
He’ll take a crumb of assurance, it’d be plenty for him to muster up the strength and return to the Crest where the Child awaits.
Usually, as is Mandalorian custom, he’d be stripping the shell of armour from her corpse as a keepsake of a life well-lived - to preserve the name of her clan but all Din had of her’s was a shattered rifle that’ll remain in the vacuum of a satchel.
Not to mention the chants—the gruff Mando’a words designed to ensure their warrior’s spirit may join their fallen. Din had his fair share of howling war cries through the years but not this time - it’s not right.
An aruetii wouldn’t be welcomed.
Besides, his Creed had stolen his spirit. It doesn’t qualify to steal hers.
It isn’t until a final blow of wind carries her skywards that Din raises to his feel, latches his helmet back in place, and returns to work.
Din likes the skies, no—loves the skies; the magnificent blues and pinks and oranges that blend as one, the swollen cushiony whites that conceal his naked face from the shell whatever planet he’d roam, but above all else Din loves how the sun blessed him with its astral kisses.
That unmistakable warmth flushed over him; the remnants of his extinguished star’s touches.
There was a peace up there that’d never reach the conflict of the galaxy; serenity that allowed for a moment of buoyancy—floating among the cornflower identical to how one might in the colossal depths of the ocean without the intimidation of anchoring oneself by weighted platings.
It was a real sight to behold up there; unfamiliar without the confines of his Crest.
Din had forgotten the thrill of the sweeping winds through his limbs, the freedom rising in his chest upon cutting through white puffs. But it had been the horizon that lured his attention inwards—the bends and slopes of a shimmering orange star smiling at the returning glint in his visor.
It was the first time he’d genuinely smiled since the loss of His Star. It had something to do with the warmth; the sunbeams managing to penetrate past beskar and into his flesh and organs so intimately, so overfamiliar to delicate fingers stroking the muscles of his chest or the bones beneath his cheeks.
It became sort of a custom in his travels to visit the heavens at least once on each planet. Often times bemused squealing would accompany him. Grogu—Grogu...the kid had a name—had been adamant about participating in his encounters and Din now has no doubt that was his abilities, the Force as Ahsoka mentioned, enabling him to perceive his intentions; his ambition to be touched by someone who no longer lives. It’d be easier to go up against seven Krayt dragons than to convince a power-wielding typhoon to remain on land, thereby he’d hoist Grogu up and above the overcast where the beams kissed the peak of his fuzzy forehead.
Renouncing his guardianship to Grogu had been challenging. Losing another lifeform so that he’d be entirely alone wasn’t a consideration as he journeyed in search of a Jedi, but it was to be expected. The kid was powerful and Din didn’t possess the knowledge to help him wield his abilities. Didn’t make saying goodbye any easier, though.
The situation resurfaced ghoulish remembrances of draining light in his arms; how he never presented his emotions without the guise of his helmet. So, encircled with copious lifeforms, Din removed his Creed before Grogu—introducing that vulnerability and love for a toddler who’d swindled his affection so effortlessly. A claw on his face wasn’t the same as gentle fingers but he didn’t love it any less.
The ordeal was absolving despite the moisture in his eyes.
Din’s ambivalent about what he’ll pursue from here with no mission, no ship, no love, but he doesn’t much care when he’s brushed with the warmth of his lover’s thumbs on his eyelids. It’s his favourite space; lingering above the clouds, head craned backwards with his helmet loosely held in his leathers, savouring how the beams kiss his skin until it’s pink from its spice.
Some days he simply wishes to take a peak, a small little glance to quench him until the desire builds up again. Some days he remains in the skies until his jetpack whines and runs into failures; until it makes its descent and is replaced with a shimmering orb.
He’s envious of the moon; how it so easily recovers its glossy shine and integrity, neglecting to address the events of the eclipse. Its radiance chips away at his armour but the sunshine restores it—realigns the shards and offers a toasty kiss to the steel, commending it for protecting her Mandalorian.
Din suspends in a herd of clouds and sighs into the air. It’s quiet except for the monotonous bursts of thrusters from behind. Sunshine is greeted with lukewarm caf, a partnering smile tugging his lips.
“Beloved Girl,” Din’s voice is raspy from inactivity but so loud, so clear in contrast to everybody else’s he’d consulted.
There’s too much he wants to say but he determines to voice them all. Din expresses his thoughts he’d been too stoic to admit, ranging from whispers to shouts at the sun as if it was a sentient being listening to his passion.
He tells her of how much he longs to see her, to taste her on his lips, to provoke that sparkling smile he loved so dearly. He communicates his guilt and how he loves her more than he can fathom—mentions the successful end of his journeys with Grogu and how he now has zilch but an undesired blade to show for it.
There’s nothing but a sway of wind whipping his eardrums in response and Din hums, accepting it.
Din cherishes the splinters of beams as she comes to rest beneath the horizon and he too sinks from the skies, obscured dimples in his cheeks as he recounts the memories of his beloved wrapped in his arms.
One last thing, Cyare, keep an eye on the kid for me, will you?

9:53 A.M.
A few hours after Goldar and Rito reunited with the boy Luckyuro and venture through the roads of gensokyo to neoxus city but all that went down hill when they're caught in a vicious crossfire between the GDF and the lunar remnants this time they brought their powerful anti-kaiju vijoka, oni-type into the battlefield. The three waste little time but to split up, goldar evacuating those who're all wounded, Rito Revolto went on a merciless killing spree, swinging his blade unleashing his powerful dark energy blasting them all apart and Luckyuro? He pulled out his toy hammer from his little bag and walked over towards the mech that stands before him.
Tumblr media
The boy is no stranger to slaying vijoka and other lunarian weapons, but he never faced it while not in gigantic size, he thought of this like his favorite anime he watches daily as a youth. This is the moment where sizes do not matter, where david meets goliath. The mech took noticed of his appearance all beneath it's feet wasting no time lifting it's large foot slamming down crushing him but he evaded the attack only to leap into the leg running up towards the tall mech leaping to parts of it's mechanical body to get very close. Right where it turned around Curio's body is covered in purple flames acting as a powerful aura while he finally leaps into the air preparing to deliver a powerful strike not even realizing the anti kaiju machine swing it's fist into curio only for...
K R R R O O M M ! !
The hammer instead of hitting it's face but it's entire fist and from the sheer power and the impact that little toy hammer possessed is more immensely powerful and the vijoka's entire arm have been blown off to bits and pieces knocking it back as it lays on one knee from the massive damage from such creature smaller than it. The pilot gritted her teeth becoming more desperate and violent no longer accepting defeat, not even from what she deemed an abomination of Koishi Yakumo.
Tumblr media
Luckyuro landed on his feet safely after that long fall, violet flames shrouding his body as an aura still, toy hammer in his hand ready to pummel this mech some more no matter his small size as he called it out.
" HEY YOU BIG PIPE WINKLE! DOWN HERE, AND UH... CAN YOU LET US PAST TO THE CITY SO I CAN BUY THE LATEST ISSUE?! "
Tumblr media
The lunarian pilot dumbfounded by his odd yet childish behavior, of course she took it as an insult much like how the other lunarian species are with their pride and ego, and so the pilot waste little time control the mech to prepare it's second and last attack against the boy. The machine swing it's fist straight towards the creature with force as Luckyuro stands ready to swing his hammer for one last time, as it's fist got closer to him time has suddenly slow down, as they both have suddenly experienced an anomalous affect. What? Anomalous affect? But how? Well no matter, the anomalous affect began to give the boy a motivational boost as the voices in the ambience of war screamed and sing for his victory. The voices of the souls that had died sings their cry of justice.
" RULES OF NATURE!!! "
Time resumes, both the hammer and fists collided but the boy remain still while the pilot inside the mech widened her eyes now in a panic, seeing how immensely powerful this boy is with or without the toy hammer as she pressed it's fist to crush him but it's already useless as with Koishi's enhance strength, combined with yukari, chen, orin, mokou, and even clownpiece, luckyuro is a force of nature just like his mother now here it comes, the finale, as he set his other hand onto the mech only to forcibly lifts it's entire body up like nothing. The pilot screamed in horror while everyone in the battlefield have stopped fighting and watched the shocking sight. The voices sing louder while Luckyuro spins around faster before finally stops and tossed the vijoka in the air where he begin to disappear into the gap, then reappearing where the vijoka is flying as he falls swinging his toy hammer, into the vijoka crushing and tearing the entire machine to bits and pieces while the pilot tries kept screaming. Finally he delivered one final swing as the hammer demolishes the vijoka in half killing the pilot inside from such sheer force. Luckyuro once more landed safely on the ground while the vijoka crashes down behind her exploding. The boy stretched his arms out waving his long sleeved hands.
" I WIN! "
Tumblr media
One GDF soldier lowered his weapon at the sight of a child demolishing the vijoka right in front of their eyes.
" ....Holy shit. "

Nicky (from the old guard) for the Send Me a Character thing 💕
Hello!
My Nicolò ✨ my sweet Angel
First impression: The second the door to that hotel room opened, and that slow smile spread over Luca Marinelli’s beautiful face, i was a goner. He was so immediately steady— he was the perfect person to have center of the shot there, it told you all you needed to know about Nicky. He’s foundational, he’s warm, he’s quiet but not shy. As soon as i saw him, i knew he was deep. It wasn’t until he said “we can do some good”, though, that I was like OH. Oh, okay. His quiet compassion was the first thing I really noticed.
And I fell in love instantly.
Impression now: he’s my favorite. Like, it’s a close run thing between him and Joe, but Nicolo di Genova is my favorite member of the guard, and my favorite character in the movie. He conveys so much with so little, he’s so powerful.
Favorite moment: ALL OF THEM 😩 Guh, if I have to choose, it’s a tie like Joe’s haha the first one is the scene in the hotel that I was just describing— the scene in the hotel is probably my favorite in the movie, period, but I digress— the thing I like most about that scene, though, is the HUG. when he hugged Andy?? And I was 6 months into quarantine and 5 months out of a manipulative relationship, and I saw THAT hug???? I teared up. I had never wanted a hug so badly.
The second one is at the lab— when he threatens Merrick. O_O “as is yours” okay, baby, go off. Like, Joe fills any room, but Nicky operates best in the negative space. He’s cryptic and subdued, but he’s not subtle. There is no doubt or hesitation— it’s similar to how he talked to Kozak earlier (speaking of favorite scenes). He’s certain of the world in a way that really shows his age, and I think it’s fascinating and strong, and really sexy, honestly.
Idea for a story: I have a story from a million years ago about Nicky getting separated from the group while on a mission (pre or post Nile, but definitely with Booker) and it’s continually floated that Nicky might be for-real dead. Joe is inconsolable, and the team has to help him keep it together. Nicky, though, is doing his damn best to find them, all by his lonesome. He has a lot of flashbacks to his life before death, and what it means to be alone. Of course, they’re reunited at the end— not separated for too long, because I’m not that mean— but it’s a heavy, angsty story.
Unpopular opinion: ummm. I dunno. In a similar vein to Joe, just let him BE. My favorite thing about Nicky is his profound depth, let him contain his multitudes! There’s so much more to the both of them than just their fanon dichotomies. That being said, popular canon takes— like Nicky having had a hard life prior to death, being the most frequent cook, or most experienced medic— aren’t necessarily bad takes. Just because he’s the cook (for example) doesn’t mean he doesn’t do other things. Let him be complicated! He’s literally a millennia old! Let the man cook if he likes to fucking cook!
Favorite relationship: Yusuf ❤️ but, like with Joe, that’s too easy! The relationship that’s been on my mind lately is his friendship with Andy. There’s a scene in Sono Qui where he’s bandaging Andy’s wound from Booker, and they have this tender moment just between the two of them that is so special to me. They have a real kinship.
Favorite headcanon: this is less of a headcanon and more of a character study haha but I’ve been thinking about dichotomies and symbolism in Joe and Nicky a lot lately— particularly the sun/moon idea. Which is just my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!
Nicky IS the moon. Mysterious, and constant even when we can’t see it. He’s been there since long before you were born, and he will continue to be there long after you die. He watches humanity, and he knows every cycle in the historical runaround (“a fine justification— I have heard it so many times before.”). The moon perpetuates cycles that can give or take life— tides/currents— as much as the sun does, and they work together in seamless partnership to make the world work. Like, we talk all about Joe and his sun symbolism all the time, but Nicky is often relegated to the moon being the reflection of the sun’s light, and that’s usually where the conversation ends, but that’s not enough for me. The moon isn’t just the reflection of the sun, it’s the memory of it. It’s the reminder that nothing that’s gone is gone forever, and another day will come tomorrow. The moon knows what’s behind us and what’s coming, even when all we see in the night is darkness. It operates in a cycle itself, in endless renewal. It’s a warning of the past behind us, shining in all the millennia of meteor scars on its face, and a hopeful affirmation that a new day is coming. A literal light in the night. Some of the oldest calendars in the world track the lunar cycles! The moon is time, and so is Nicky.
Sorry. I’m super into the moon.
Thanks for playing! I hope that made sense haha

Assassination Classroom - Over The Moon AU
I have watched "Over The Moon" on Netflix recently and have the amazing idea. What if we wrote an Over The Moon AU for Assassination Classroom?
Tumblr media
Here is my concept of the Over the Moon AU. Please bear with my long ramblings.
-------------
Thousand years ago, Koro became fatally ill due to an incurable disease. His beloved wife, Aguri, loved her husband very much and decided to find a way to heal her dying husband.
So she travelled far and wide to search the legendary Tree of Life, a magical tree that bears a legendary magic peach that only blooms and grows once in a thousand years, which could heal all diseases, no matter how incurable it is. After weeks of searching, she found the tree, and saw the magic peach, glowing with power. Desperate enough to heal her dying husband, she plucked the peach, went home, and made a healing elixir that could heal Koro.
She made Koro to drink the potion and feel the healing power of the elixir, so Koro will be healed. As expected, Koro had recovered from the disease and they lived happily.
But the happiness was short-lived. Aguri found the painful truth about the magical peach too late.
Shin (the Second Reaper), the young and talented village healer, told her the painful truth about the peach. The one who intakes the magic peach can be cured by any illness that plagues him or her, but there is a catch, a curse. The one who intakes the peach can't die, and will be immortal forever.
Aguri clung on her husband’s hands tightly, as she held on his fleeting embrace. He was floating upwards, a mysterious force pulling him away from Aguri's loving arms. The curse has started, and Koro was taken away from her. She cried and cried, holding Koro's hands tight, but she can't cling to him any longer. She let go him, her hands trying to reach her beloved, but Koro was now far away, floating to the glowing moon above.
Aguri was grief-stricken and feels regret over the loss of Koro, so every day and every night, she would offer mooncakes and sweets to an altar she made for her husband. She would pray and sing, so Koro could hear her voice, hoping that she would reunite with him soon.
Unfortunately, Aguri is a mortal and have a short lifespan. She never remarried, as she still loves Koro very much. The tried everything, she prayed and plead and she went to the Tree to find another peach to eat so she could be reunited with Koro, but the peach only grows once in a thousand years. She fell ill and died alone at a young age, without Koro in her embrace.
The now-immortal Koro was alone in the moon, trapped forever in rock and lunar dunes. He cried for the loss of Aguri, as his crystal tears fell to the ground, giving life to the rocks that became his faithful subjects. The rocks turned to humanoid teenagers, which will help him cope with the loneliness and longing for his beloved Aguri.
Every 13th day of the third month (March 13th), people celebrates the tale of Koro and Aguri by eating and offering mooncakes, while telling the children about their tragic tale. The moon would shine so bright at this time, forming a crescent shape as the reminder of Aguri's love for Koro.
Thousands of years after, there was a boy named Nagisa Shiota. He lived a happy childhood, his father would tell him stories, while little Nagisa and his mother, Hiromi, would listen to the tale under the moon. Their favorite story was the tale of Koro and Aguri. When Nagisa was 8, Nagisa's father gives him an old necktie with a crescent moon emblem and a golden moon pendant.
They were very happy, until Nagisa's father died due to illness, leaving his mother depressed and insane, as she started to think that Nagisa was his daughter she never had. She began to have delusions of a happy family, and became abusive to her son, punishing him if he never did her wishes.
Until the day they met the Asanos.
When Nagisa was 14, Hiromi met Gakuho Asano, a widower, and it was love at first sight. After a year, they are planning to get married, and Hiromi began to revert back to her old self, although she was a little abusive to Nagisa.
Gakuho has a son, Gakushuu. He is the same age as Nagisa, and he was very different from the meek Nagisa. He was always serious, competitive and kinda proud, and Nagisa had difficulty getting along with him.
Nagisa was tired of this life. He still wanted his father, and hated the fact that his mother easily replaced his father by Gakuho in her heart. So he wanted to meet Koro, the god of the moon, to prove to his mother that love is not replacable, and it is forever. He had a plan: to build a rocket to the moon.
With a little knowledge of Science and determination, he successfully made the rocket, but he never expected Gakushuu joining his plan to meet the moon god, let alone met Koro in personal. Nagisa lost control of the rocket due to shock, crashing it.
Nagisa was pissed when he found out Gakushuu joined him in this plan. Gakushuu argued that he silently help Nagisa solve the equations needed for the rocket, as some of the calculations Nagisa did are slightly wrong, and can cause trouble for Nagisa later on. Also, Gakushuu wanted to see if this Koro is real all along, as he was still skeptical about the story.
They were arguing when they were suddenly taken away by flying... Octopuses? Gakushuu loses his shit.
And do I have to tell you Koro was always holding concerts at his kingdom? Can you imagine that?
Gakushuu and Nagisa meets Koro, the god of the moon. Nagisa was ecstatic and took a photo with the moon god, while Gakushuu was still mumbing how this is possible. It was peaceful until Koro demanded about a gift to them. The two humans were confused about the immortal's demand. They don't know about the gift.
So Koro had stolen the picture of Nagisa and him as a ransom, as he announced to all his subjects that anyone who can find the gift before the last sliver of moonlight in the orb fades, their greatest wish will be granted. Of course, all of Koro's subjects were excited, so they rush out to find the gift. Nagisa wanted to get the picture so he ran outside, leaving Gakushuu looking at Koro with a glare, suddenly challenging the moon god, demanding about the picture. Koro agrees.
They settled the fight by doing a quiz bee. Two girls, a blonde named Rio, and a purple-haired girl named Ritsu, held the contest, while the Gakushuu and Koro were the contestants. They answered questions with precision, and even Koro was amazed of the strawberry-blond kid's intelligence. But they still continued on, Koro was starting to get annoyed by the kid's knowledge. Until the final question.
Koro mocks that a measly kid like Gakushuu can't answer the final question, as Koro was a thousand years older than Gakushuu and more knowledgeable. Gakushuu, having a sharp mouth than anyone, retorts and mocks the moon god about the past.
"You are more knowledgeable than me, you say to me... But why you never stopped Aguri from picking that magic peach, making and letting you drink that potion that made you who you are now? You're selfish, because if you are knowledgeable as you said you are, I think you know the peach can make you immortal! Aguri was fooled by you!"
Koro was aghast about the accusations and he was pissed, unable to concentrate, leaving Gakushuu to be the victor. Koro screamed angrily that Gakushuu and Nagisa would never get the picture until the gift was given to him, breaking the deal. He left the room with Rio and Ritsu (who was apologizing), locking Gakushuu inside.
Koro was in despair, his heart was desperate to find the gift. Okuda and Takebayashi, the royal chemists, were busily mixing potions that will be needed for the ritual. Irina, one of Koro's two trusted advisors, advised the moon god to calm down. Koro replied that he can't bear to calm down, as the time is nearly up, and he can't reunite with Aguri if the gift was not yet found. Irina assured that they will find it, that Koro will gonna reunite with Aguri. The moon god smiled gratefully at Irina as he looked at what the chemists do.
After a few moments, Okuda announced that the potion for the ritual was ready. The gift was the only one left needed. Koro sadly smiled as he looked at the orb.
Nagisa went with a team of bounty hunters, Terasaka, Muramatsu, Yoshida and Hazama. They fought and escaped the obstacles, as they reached the crash site, finding for the gift. Nagisa started to lose hope, praying for a sign. As he looked around, he noticed a sliver of pale light hitting the necktie. Nagisa widened his eyes as he realized that the necktie was the gift, and happily shows it to the bounty hunters. The bounty hounters, however, had interests for Koro to grant their wishes, bullies Nagisa into giving them the gift. Nagisa gives them a gift, but he was pushed by Terasaka, while his team laughed behind him. Suddenly, he was saved by a red-haired boy and a green-haired girl.
Terasaka calls the new arrivals outcasts as the redhead smiled like a demon, "You both were exiled by the great Koro-sama, why are you here?"
The redhead shrugged and threatened them in a conscending tone to give the necktie back to Nagisa, while the green-haired girl smiled menancingly, sending Terasaka's team shivers down their spine. Terasaka suddenly ran towards his bike with the necktie in his hands, and rode away, along with his team. Nagisa was shocked, before the redhead grabbed his hand and ran to a big pond where they could catch up with Terasaka. They reached the pond and rode on the huge toads's backs back to Kunugigaoka, as the toads like to feed in the lake near Kunugigaoka. Nagisa asked for their names.
"It's Karma and this is Kaede, by the way. You?"
"I’m Nagisa."
"Hi, Nagisa!"
Nagisa remembered what Terasaka said, and asked about it. Karma sighed as he reveals that Koro exiled him due to a song Karma sang to him about moving on. Before the exile, Karma was one of Koro's trusted students. Nagisa find out that Koro loved teaching, and Karma was one of the lucky Kunugigaokans who are the moon god's students.
Nagisa also found out the Kunugigaokans are born through Koro's magic tears. That means Karma practically came from the moon god's tears.
Kaede, on the other hand, was Aguri's actual younger sister. Nagisa was confused how she was with Koro when she was supposed to be mortal, while Aguri can't, Kaede revealed that she is actually a spirit, kinda like a shikigami, who died years after Koro was floated away to the moon, and her spirit remained to accompany Koro as his companion. Nagisa wondered why it was not Aguri, and Kaede explained that Aguri was the one who picked the peach, making it part of the curse Koro was suffering. The curse was not only to make Koro immortal, but it also affects Koro and Aguri's fate. They can't be together happily, even how many lifetimes they will be in. She was also exiled with Karma after telling Koro that a ritual to bring Aguri back would possibly not work.
Nagisa realized that Koro was unfair giving the two of them the punishment of exile for just saying a helpful comment. Nagisa spoke that he never expected Koro to be an arrogant and selfish prick, as his father told him before that Koro was graceful like a swan landing on a quiet lake, full of kindness and hope. Karma replied that Koro just missed Aguri, and love can make you desperate to do anything that may be impossible.
Nagisa smiled bitterly and agree. Kaede asked about Nagisa's family life and the bluenette told the entire life story. The two listened attentively to him. He even told them about his mother and Gakuho being remarried, and Gakushuu.
Karma smiled, "I hope I will experience having a sibling. Well, a sibling who could share my hobbies of pranking other people..."
Kayano nodded as she spoke with a cheerful voice, "Having a sibling is a fun experience though! Aguri was sweet, and she was a good sibling. Besides, we were alone for a thousand years, since we were exiled by Koro-niisan from the castle."
Karma smiled, "It is not bad to move on. You can remember them forever, cherish their memories, but you can't stay in the past and be stuck. Otherwise, you will feel alone forever."
Kaede had also remarked one fact about Koro.
"When he was overwhelmed by great emotions, the entire kingdom of Kunugigaoka will be affected, since he was the one who made the kingdom from scratch. In fact, when he was striken by great grief, Kunugigaoka will plagued by darkness, as Koro's happiness powers the entire kingdom's bright lights. The last time he was striken with great grief was the time he first landed on the moon, long before the kingdom of Kunugigaoka was made."
The trio catch up to the bounty hunters, after they reached the kingdom of Kunugigaoka, Nagisa seeing the orb on the castle glowing faintly, signalling they were running out of time. Terasaka and the gang tried to stop the trio from getting the tie, but the trio were persistent. They fought and fought, Kaede was jumping like a rabbit, Karma was happily punching Terasaka, with Nagisa watching at them in horror and shock, but in between their fight, the tie was accidentally destroyed. The bounty hunters stopped fighting them and proved that the tie was now useless.
Meanwhile, Gakushuu finds a way to escape the room and wanders around the place, looking for something to use for defending himself while looking for the photo. While finding, he met Isogai, a kindhearted Kunugigaokan who happily helped him find the photo. Along with Isogai is Maehara, a flirty blond haired Kunugigaokan.
Nagisa looked at the tattered tie in despair. "It was my father's gift to me, along with this pendant I am wearing."
Karma looked at the pendant and remarks that the pendant seems familiar. Nagisa looked at Karma in confusion, as Karma shrugged, thinking that he may be wrong. Nagisa looked at the pendant and saw something in it. The moon seems like it was actually part of something.
Kaede squinted at the golden pendant and commented, while smiling wistfully, "I remember that Aguri-neechan has that similar necklace thousands of years ago, a full moon necklace. Koro-niisan too have a similar pendant too, although it was a crescent moon pendant. He was still wearing it even now, after a thousand years. I remember that if you combined those two necklaces, it will become a whole moon, like a damn puzzle. It was their version of a wedding ring."
Karma laughed, "Yeah, I remembered that pendant. Koro-sensei showed it to me back when I was still his beloved student. He was so protective of it that he cried like a waterfall when I hid that pendant playfully that time. I remember that is how Itona-kun and Ritsu-chan was born."
Nagisa stood there, pondering over their tale. Being a perceptive person, all the pieces were put to place.
"Like a puzzle. The pendant is like a puzzle. The gift..."
Nagisa's blue eyes widened as he had realized that the tie was not the gift, but the pendant. The pendant that was with him all along!
Karma and Kaede smiled happily for Nagisa while Nagisa looks at the orb above the castle, there is only a sliver of moonlight left. Nagisa knew that there is little time left so he ran along, with Karma and Kaede following him.
While running inside, Gakushuu and Nagisa bumped to each other, and Nagisa hugged Gakushuu in happiness. Gakushuu was shocked as he tried to pull back (he kinda hates hugs), but Nagisa tightly gripped him.
Meanwhile, Maehara and Isogai looked at Kaede and Karma in apprehension, as all Kunugigaokans know that these two are exiled by Koro-sama due to personal reasons. Karma playfully greeted them while Kaede waved back.
Suddenly, a tall man came in, looking at the scene with a serious look. Everyone looked at him, even Nagisa who was pulling away from annoyed Gakushuu.
"Karasuma-sensei!" The four teens greeted the man, who was named Karasuma. Karasuma is Koro's second trusted adviser, along with Irina. Karasuma spoke in a serious voice, "I know you have the gift, the octopus is waiting for you in the main room."
Nagisa was confused why Koro, the god of the moon, was called octopus by Karasuma. Karma, remarked that Koro has great affinity with octopuses as Aguri loves octopuses. In fact, he was sometimes called "octoperv" by some people close to the moon god, due to his hidden pervert nature. It was a cute nickname for the immortal moon god.
Nagisa raised an eyebrow, he never knew about the fact that Koro was like some ordinary male, sometimes a perverted creep.
Koro was in the middle of the room, waiting for the gift, with the Kunugigaokans looking at the new arrivals with concern, happiness and relief. He raised his weird-looking eyebrow to Karma, who smiled like a demonic entity, and Kayano, who awkwardly waved at him. Kayano then looked at Koro with a concerned look, reminding him that it may not work and her opinion still stands, and the moon god smiled sadly, as he walked towards Nagisa.
Nagisa held the golden moon pendant to the immortal and Koro gently picked it up from the bluenette's hands. He looked at the pendant wistfully and removed his own crescent moon pendant from his neck and connected the two necklaces together. It fits like a puzzle piece. Takebayashi poured the potion over the necklaces and the necklaces glowed brightly.
"As two halves can be whole again, this necklace was now complete, like our love. Now, you can come back to me... Aguri."
The castle scenery changes, as it morphed into a clearing, with lots of trees around the place. There is a house in the middle, and Koro, in simple yukata he was wearing back when he was still mortal, was standing in front of the house. Nagisa, Gakushuu and the Kunugigaokans were looking from far away.
The door of the house opened, it revealed a short haired woman wearing a fancy yukata. She was short, with onyx eyes tinged with brown hues. Her short hair was adored with little hairclips and jewelry that was common for women in her time. Nagisa and the Kunugigaokans gasped from far away as they saw the woman. They saw the woman on the paintings of the castle, paintings where it was depicted Koro with his beloved wife. The woman was Aguri, the woman in the paintings and Koro's beloved wife.
It was a tearful reunion, with Koro looking at his love with a longing look as he spoke how he had missed her, and they were now reunited after a thousand years. Aguri smiled and held Koro's cheek with gentleness, but Aguri's hands glowed and slowly became transparent. Koro looked at Aguri in shock.
Aguri tearfully reveals that she can't stay any longer, as they can't be together, and Koro has to move on. Koro shook his head, screaming Aguri's name as he tried to hug Aguri and stop her from fading away, but the woman slowly floated away like how Koro had done a thousand years ago. Koro reached out desperately, trying to grab his beloved wife's hands, but Aguri faded away, smiling and saying, "I will always love you forever."
As Aguri faded away to the wind, the sliver of moonlight on the orb shatters, leaving into nothing. The time was up, and it was too late to bring Aguri back. She was gone forever.
Kaede looked at the scene sadly, as she saw her sister faded away to the wind, like how Koro has done before. She sadly remarked that she knew from the start that the ritual will never work in the first place. The curse will always plagued their fate. Also, if that was possible, you can't bring back the person long dead for a thousand years. Koro is an immortal, and Aguri isn't.
Upon hearing Kaede's sad truth, Koro was stricken with grief over the loss of Aguri once again, plunging Kunugigaoka into darkness. The god suddenly formed a protective barrier around him, forbidding anyone access to him. The Kunugigaokans were worried about their leader, Karasuma voicing his concerns.
"We can't enter the barrier, it is too powerful and no one can enters there. If there is someone that can enter it, they can't go out until Koro stopped the barrier. And knowing him, he will stay like that forever."
Irina continued, "He really loved Aguri very much, and did everything to make her come back. But we all know that it is impossible. Kayano-san was different from Aguri-san's case. That curse..."
Nagisa was confused, "How Aguri was different from Kayano?"
Karasuma looked at the moon good and sighed, " There is actually a story that was actually not included in the tales that you humans say about Koro and Aguri. When Aguri picked the magic peach and made a potion for Koro to drink, a powerful sorcerer named Shiro was very angry. He wanted the peach to himself, to be immortal forever. When he found out that the magic peach was gone, and hearing the news that a mere mortal became immortal after drinking a potion containing the peach, he was pissed. Of course, he can't curse Koro, as he was now immortal and now in the moon, so Shiro cursed the one who made the potion, the unfortunate Aguri. He used a forbidden spell to curse her."
Gakushuu asked, "Let me guess, the curse was not to let Aguri reunited with Koro forever??"
Irina nodded, "Yes. Aguri's spirit and Koro can't be reunited until the curse is broken. Shiro had announced that the curse should be broken before the last sliver of moonlight in the orb shatters, or Aguri be gone forever. But unfortunately, the curse was too powerful, even the gods can't easily lift it without trouble. Even Koro, who now revered as the god of the moon. But he tried everything to break the curse for a thousand years, and this is his chance to do it right. But he failed. That sliver of light was gone. Now Aguri is gone, and Koro can't bring her back forever."
Nagisa and the Kunugigaokans were worried when they heard the words. Even Gakushuu, who shows slight concern. Nagisa stepped forward and into the barrier's end, touching the barrier, expecting it to feel like a wall. They all were shocked when his hands passed through the barrier. Nagisa looked at the depressed god of the moon and determined to enter the barrier. Gakushuu stopped him, his hands touched the barrier. Unlike Nagisa, it never passed through.
"Are you crazy?! What if you will be stuck there forever? I can't go home without you, I still have a future on Earth!"
Nagisa sighed as he smiled, "The moon's guiding light will be gone if we don't do something."
He went inside, ignoring the pleas of Karma and Kaede telling him to stop. Nagisa walked towards Koro, who was curling up into a ball.
"Koro-sama? It's me, Nagisa. The effeminate boy? I want you to know the Kunugigaokans needed you..."
Nagisa went to reach Koro, but something... Or someone stopped him. It was the vision of his father. Nagisa widened his eyes in shock and sadness as he looked towards his father, reaching his hand to hold his father’s face once again. He cried, as he screamed for his father to come back. But like Aguri, the vision floated away, leaving Nagisa depressed. Nagisa curled up to a ball in sadness, as the memories of the happy times rushed over him.
Meanwhile, Gakushuu, Karma and Kaede tried hard to break the barrier, but it was no use. Gakushuu punched the barrier but it wouldn't budge. He may not admit it, but he is started to care about Nagisa. Kaede tearfully screamed as she pounded in the glass in desperation. In her desperation, she revealed a secret Gakushuu was shocked for: Nagisa was Kaede's descendant.
Kaede had apparently died in her 20s when she give birth to a baby boy, her first child. Before dying, she gave her sister's necklace to her son as a reminder of her sister's love for her husband. It became a family hairloom, and Nagisa got it from his father thousand of years later.
Karma comforted Kaede as Gakushuu looked towards the greenette and Nagisa in shock.
Meanwhile, Koro had noticed Nagisa crying towards the vision of his father before it fades away. Koro felt sadness as he looked towards the depressed bluenette, he realized that both he and Nagisa are similar. Both of them lost a loved one and grieving over their loss. He floated towards Nagisa and gently lifted the teen's head.
Nagisa looked at the moon god with a tearful gaze, as the moon god sadly smiled, speaking in a soft voice, "You don't belong here, Nagisa-kun. You have a family to come back to. Don't drown in sadness like I did, you are still young. I know it hurts to let go of them, but we had to move on and be happy with the ones we currently have. You will remember the moments with them, but we can make new ones. You have your mother who needed you, your new stepfather to support you, and a new brother to love you."
Nagisa looked down as he spoke in a soft voice, looking towards the moon god's dark eyes "It's not too late for you to move on too." Aguri may be gone, but they are still there." Nagisa pointed out to the teenagers who stood outside the barrier, "They needed you too."
Gakushuu punched the barrier, with Karma punching along with him. "Nagisa-kun, I know we are not in good terms, but we will try to work this out! Because we are now a family!" With one last punch, the barrier shattered, as Gakushuu and the Kunugigaokans rushed in to greet Koro and Nagisa.
Nagisa hugged Gakushuu tightly, as Gakushuu, still uncomfortable in hugging people, squirmed before giving up. Kaede smiled at Nagisa, while Karma patted his back.
All Kunugigaokans rushed towards the moon god, as they hugged the crying moon god. Ritsu, Okuda and Kurahashi was crying loudly, hugging Koro tightly. Karasuma and Irina stayed behind, but they were smiling at the joyful event.
Later on, Koro and the Kunugigaokans are ready to say goodbye to Nagisa and Gakushuu. Koro had apologized to Karma and Kaede for banishing them from the kingdom, as they were just trying to make him happy by moving on and focus on the ones who loved him now. Karma just laughed and said that it was fine, traveling was fun and exciting, that he gets to pick fights easily outside without Koro scolding him, making the moon god slapped Karma's head playfully. Kaede snorted as Karma hugged Nagisa and Gakushuu tightly as he admitted he was going to miss them, Kaede giving Nagisa a quick peck in the cheek. Nagisa blushed pink over the actions. Koro happily gives Nagisa the picture of Koro and Nagisa together, as proof. Nagisa clutched the photo with happiness, as Gakushuu rolled his eyes.
With the octopuses flying them away, Gakushuu and Nagisa returned to Earth. To a human observer on Earth, they are like shooting stars. Nagisa looked at the photo in his hand, and saw the photo is fading away. Nagisa realized that he didn't need proof, so he let the photo floated away in the wind as they fall towards the Earth.
Months after, Hiromi and Gakuho had married. Hiromi changed for the better, and Nagisa is happy that his mother is now happy in life. His brother, Gakushuu, started to warm up to him.
They celebrated the March 13th festival with their relatives by eating mooncakes and sweets while sharing stories of Koro and Aguri. Nagisa laughed at some of the story as he looked out at the moon. The moon was glowing bright, as if it was acknowledging Nagisa.
After the mooncake eating, Hiromi was with Nagisa, looking at the moon with a serene look in their faces. They remembered the memories of the past, but there is no heartbreak now. Hiromi apologized about how she acted towards Nagisa ever since his father died, and Nagisa smiled as he hugged his mother tightly. As they playfully chasing each other in the night sky, the moon shone brightly than ever, as a beautiful swan in a lake flew towards the moon.

So what do you think about it? I tried hard to fit the Assassination Classroom elements to Over the Moon, add some twists and new ideas, and hoping that there is not a character that is too OOC.

Reunited
Tim and Bertie had fallen in love with Jonny on the moon, but when Bertie died Tim had left Jonny behind. He realizes how much he regrets it when he’s getting mechanized. After he finds out Jonny is alive, he vows to make it up to him and does his best to mend their relationship again.
On AO3.
Ships: Gunpowder Tim x Jonny d’Ville
Warnings: grieving and working through some issues. Tell me if I missed anything or if you want me to tag something!!
~~~~~~~~~
It was dark when Tim woke up.
He didn’t think he would wake up again when he had confronted the Moon Kaiser, so the fact that he was alive in the darkness was strange. He tried to move, but found his hands and feet were tied down to the surface he was lying on.
“Stop wiggling.” a voice said.
Tim did not know who the voice belonged to, but his head swiveled in the direction it had come from in an attempt to see who it was.
The person snorted and said: “I don’t think that will help, since I’m currently making you a pair of eyes. I’m Doc Carmilla, by the way, a pleasure.”
“What happened? What do you want from me.” Tim now really started to struggle against his bindings as he tried to get away.
“You were in an explosion.” the voice, Doc Carmilla apparently, told him gently, “You lost your eyes and I’m making you new ones. All I ask is cooperation.”
The fury from before was reignited in his veins as he continued to struggle fiercely. He wasn’t about to become an experiment of the Moon Kaiser or anyone else. He was Gunpowder Tim and if he’d had enough righteous anger to cut through thousands of Lunar Men, he would have enough to break out of here.
Doc Carmilla sighed and Tim felt a prick in his neck. As he started to loose his grip on the world, he heard her say: “Only people who cooperate get progress.”
When he woke up again a few days had passed, not that Tim would know since he’d lost his sense of time in the darkness. He startled, but before he could do anything Doc Carmilla spoke: “Don’t struggle again, it’s already been slow going since my help was emotionally compromised and I can’t work on your face if you struggle.”
“I don’t even know what you’re doing to me.” Tim protested.
“I’m giving you a second chance at life, away from everything that has brought you such misery. A new family to call your own that will be there forever. Don’t you want that, Timothy? Don’t you want that new beginning away from there?” she asked.
Tim thought about that. He didn’t really know the answer, he hadn’t thought about a future since he’d lost Bertie. His only focus had been to kill the Kaiser or die trying, no matter the price. What was he going to do now that it was over?
“It’s alright if you need time to think.” Doc Carmilla told him, “You’ll get plenty of time to think anyway.”
Then she started to work and most of the pain from getting metal shoved into still healing wounds took over for coherency.
But it came back to him when she left him, apparently done for the day. He pondered how he had avenged Bertie, how he could heal now, but the more he thought about it, the more he had failed him.
While they might’ve already been in love before they arrived on the moon and had known each other since they were little, it hadn’t been just the two of them, not anymore. There had been a fierce soldier, who really shouldn’t have been enjoying himself that much, that they had loved as well. His name had been Jonny, Jonny d’Ville. And Tim couldn't help but feel like he had abandoned him.
Jonny might have been manic from time to time with too much bloodlust for his tiny body, but he had also been soft and insecure.
Tim could remember the nights, where they had held Jonny between them as they whispered reassurances to him, while he was overwhelmed with the unfamiliar praise and affection that they heaped onto him.
But then Bertie had died and Tim hadn’t been able to see through his own grief. He’d gone on a rampage, leaving Jonny to fend for himself without a shoulder to lean on.
It felt like a punch to the gut and a bucket of cold water over his head. He had allowed himself to loose someone he cared about, someone he loved. He still had someone left and he hadn’t cherished the love he could have had.
Bertie would have killed him if he knew. The other man had taken to Jonny so quickly that Tim would have become jealous if he hadn’t trusted Bertie so much. Bertie took joy in figuring out what made Jonny blush or smile softly, just like he’d done for Tim so many years ago.
Tim missed that, missed Bertie, missed the three of them in a heap next to the campfire while Jonny softly sang of worlds far away.
Jonny never told them how he knew those songs and he would only sing them for Tim and Bertie in those quiet peaceful moments. Tim had learned to look forward to them and hold them near to his heart, but it seemed he had forgotten this lesson and now he would never hear Jonny sing again.
It was only then that it hit him that he might have been the one who killed Jonny. If he was here and did his duty then the moon was gone, along with everyone on it.
He had not only abandoned Jonny, he had murdered him as well.
That was what he thought about for the days that followed. Doc Carmilla would come in and work on him and he’d just lay there, mind somewhere else. He had failed both his lovers and he would do anything to make it up to them, but it was too late. He’d never be able to make it up to them again and that hurt deep to his core; the fact that he would never get to say sorry.
Then Doc Carmilla stopped coming and Tim was all on his own in the darkness once more.
Tim didn’t know how long he’d laid there before he heard a noise in the chamber he was in. He turned his head towards it, even though he couldn’t see and called out: “Who’s there?”
“Hmm, she’s farther along than I thought.” a heavily accented and slightly disappointed voice said.
“Who are you? What are you doing?” Tim was getting slightly nervous.
“Sadly, I have to fix you up.” the voice said coolly.
“Uhm, why?” this person obviously didn’t seem pleased of that and he was scared and confused in this never-ending darkness.
“Carmilla had to depart.” the voice answered, picking each word carefully “And I would have someone hound me if I didn’t and they found out, so here I am.”
“You don’t sound so happy about that.” Tim was getting worried the person would hurt him and he would be stuck and helpless here.
“I’m not, but you’re one of us now.” the voice sighed, “I’m Nastya, the engineer.”
“Oh, I’m Tim, Gunpowder Tim.” Tim replied.
“I know.” Nastya told him and after that she was silent, the only noises that of whatever project she was working on and the dripping of the IV keeping up his strength.
Tim tried to think of what he could have done to earn her anger, but none came to mind. What she told him also didn’t make sense, because who here knew him? He was still pondering that when she left, with a curt goodbye.
This awkward existing in the same space went on for another three days, before Nastya announced: “They’re ready. This is going to hurt, but then it’s over.”
He nodded and braced himself. For a second nothing happened, then something connected and his eyes started to burn. He screamed as his vision flashed white, a sharp contrast with the darkness from the past weeks, before his world went dark again as he passed out.
When he awoke this time, it was to a metal lab with contraptions and experiments everywhere. He was no longer bound and sat up in surprise. His eyes saw everything so clearly and it was hard just to take stuff in, but after a few moments he got used to it enough to walk.
Slowly he got onto his feet, still unused to walking after so long, and set out to find anyone who might want to tell him more about what was happening.
Tim was about to just start yelling when he heard voices further down the hall. He made his way to a doorway into a room with a few couches where five people were sitting and talking. He didn’t know who the metal man was, nor the red-haired woman, nor the other person, but his eye did fall on The Toy Soldier. It could be TS, who Nastya had referred to even if it didn’t like to be a someone. He was about to call out to it when the last persons face was revealed.
Jonny.
It couldn't be anyone else, even if Tim thought his brain was tricking him. It was the same face that would grin at him in the trenches or smile up at Bertie while laying in his lap. The same face. Jonny had lived, there was a chance Tim could make it up to him.
“Darling, you’re alive!” he yelled, racing forward to envelop a startled Jonny into a hug.
He squeezed him tight, before cradling his face in his hand and checking him over. Jonny looked completely unharmed, if Tim still had tear ducts he would have cried, instead he hugged Jonny again and said: “God, I was so worried about you, love, I’m so so sorry for leaving you, you didn’t deserve that I’m so sorry. How can I ever make it up to you, angel?”
In his arms Jonny looked very surprised, he’d gone still when Tim hugged him and now just sat there quite shocked. Then he softly asked: “You still like me?”
Tims heart broke, it got shattered in a thousand pieces that lodged themselves into his insides and tore through him. He assured him: “Of course I still do, I love you, I’m sorry I made you feel anything different, cupcake.”
Jonny sagged into his touch and Tim could feel his shoulders shake as his clothes got soaked in tears and nails dug into his back as Jonny clutched his coat tightly.
“Tim, Ol’ Sport, It’s You! I Did Not Know You Had Made It.” The Toy Soldier exclaimed, finally recognizing the familiar face.
“Tim, as in broke Jonnys heart Tim? Left him crying for days Tim? That Tim?” one of the people he did not know asked.
A stab of guilt went through Tims heart and he held Jonny closer as he kissed his temple and whispered: “I’m so sorry, bean, so so sorry.”
Jonnys grip only tightened in return, while in the background TS answered: “That Seems Like The Description Of Tim, Mx. O’Reily.”
“Who ordered you to call me that, go back to just Ashes.” the person, apparently Ashes, said then their look turned dangerous, “So, how do we know we can trust him to not do that again?”
“Hold on, Ashes, maybe let him explain first, we can threaten him later.” the metal man told them, he then smiled at Tim and introduced himself: “Hi, I’m Drumbot Brian, most call me Brian and I am the Pilot of this ship. Nastya did talk about finishing something, but she hadn’t mentioned what, has she explained what happened?”
“I don’t think she expected me to wake up yet.” Tim told him, not letting go of Jonny for a second, “She wasn’t there when I woke up and she’s mostly been giving me the cold shoulder.”
“That’s to be expected, with how we found Jonny over you.” the woman with the red hair said, “I’m Ivy Alexandria, pleasure.”
“Oh, yeah, I’m Tim, Gunpowder Tim, but most just call me Tim.” he didn’t extend a hand, too focused on the warmth of Jonny safe in his arms.
“Can we go back to focusing on what’s really important?” Ashes asked loudly, “Namely making sure this guy here doesn’t break Jonnys heart again.”
“I’m right here you know.” Jonny mumbled, “And he didn’t break my heart.”
Ashes raised a brow at him and said: “You cried for the first time in centuries and blubbered on about him enough for the Doc to not even tell you she picked him up. Not to mention this current limpet show.”
A flush overtook his features and he was about to let go, much to Tims dismay, when Brian stopped him and gently explained: “They didn’t mean it like that, Jonny, stay put, it’s obviously helping. They’re just pulling the overprotective card, let them do their shovel talk, then we’ll leave you guys alone to talk.”
Jonny kept holding on, relief clear as day, while Ashes pouted: “It’s not a shovel talk, Brian, it’s a proper intimidation act.”
Ashes turned to Tim and crossed their arms, from their standing position they looked down on Tim with disdain as they began: “If you hurt him ever again, I will cut you to pieces and make you watch as I burn those pieces to ash. I will kill you repeatedly in many increasingly painful ways and I will not stop until you beg, beg, me to please make it permanent and then I will kill you a few more times again, before I defy everything you are and murder you, before feeding you to the octokittens. Are we clear?”
Tim swallowed thickly and he could feel Jonny tighten his grip, before he softly whispered: “Don’t leave me, I’ll make sure to protect you from them, please stay.”
“Of course I’ll stay, baby.” Tim assured him with a kiss to his temple, before meeting Ashes gaze, “Nothing will make me leave or hurt you again, no matter how hard they try, I promise.”
Ashes scanned his face, but seemed content with what they found. They nodded approvingly, before ushering the others out while saying: “Come on, lets let these two catch up.”
With them gone Tim focused on what was most important, Jonny. Those others were obviously his family, so he’d felt the need to impress them, but now that was over and he had a cuddling lover to take care of.
Jonny was still crying a bit, although it seemed the heaving sobs from before had ceased. It was clear that Tims departure after Berties death had had more impact on Jonny than he could handle and Tim felt so incredibly guilty over ever leaving him. He’d known how much Jonny could doubt himself and their affection and still he’d left him in the middle of a war zone, alone, to cope with the fact that one of his lovers was dead and the other had apparently left him.
It seemed impossible, but Tim hugged Jonny closer, pulling him into his lap. He rocked him back a forth as he hummed softly.
After a while Jonny sagged even more into his touch, so TIm softly said: “I know we probably still need to talk about a lot, but right now I would love nothing more than to cuddle and sleep, if you’re agreeable, marshmallow.”
“Yeah,” Jonny mumbled into his neck, “I’d like that.”
“Good.” Tim told him, before scooping him up into his arms, half concerned and half glad he was still able to do that, as he asked: “What way, princess?”
A recognizable blush spread over Jonnys face as he pointed into a direction and Tim smiled to himself, some things never changed. Tim started walking while keeping up a constant stream of soft chatter, only pausing to ask for more directions that Jonny provided silently.
The room they arrived at was clearly Jonnys, the messy décor reminding Tim of his equally disorganized pack, while the belt and guns scattered around screamed Jonny.
Against the wall stood a big bed with a ton of pillows piled on it and Tim filed the soft nest away in his mind with new things to learn about Jonny in this new setting, as he gently put Jonny down between the blankets and other plush on his bed.
When Tim put him down Jonny whimpered slightly and Tim whispered: “I’m just taking off my shoes and outer layer, it’s a bit dirty and I want your bed to stay clean. That alright, sweet pea? Want your boots off too?”
Jonny nodded and Tim set to work. He kicked off his own shoes uncaringly and shrugged off his coat and trousers easily, but when he got to Jonnys boots he knelt down and softly undid the laces, before sliding the boots off gently.
He looked up and smiled at a now completely red Jonny and asked: “Do you want the belts off too, dove?”
After biting his lip, Jonny nodded and Tim undid his belts and slid them off, being mindful of keeping the same gentleness throughout the entire progress.
As Tim climbed onto the bed Jonny wiggled out of his own trousers as well and shrugged off his waistcoat. Then he rested his head on Tims chest, who instantly wrapped two arms around him and held him closely as he drifted off, the entire day finally catching up to him.
It took Tim a bit longer to find sleep. He didn’t know if it was because he’d woken up just over an hour ago or because he was still reeling over the fact that Jonny was still alive. It was frankly a miracle, but now that he thought of it, he should have seen this coming.
Back on the moon Jonny used to make a lot of immortality jokes, but he would get rather defensive if anyone called them that or didn’t believe him. Bertie and Tim just humored him and tried to keep an eye out, but The Toy Soldier always seemed 100% agreeable over it, which made sense after seeing it here. So the logical conclusion was that all those jokes along with the forever family comment from Doc Carmilla meant that Jonny really was immortal and after Ashes’ shovel talk it wouldn’t surprise Tim if he was now too.
That was quite a lot to take in, but Tim didn’t really have time for an existential crisis, he had to focus on Jonny and making things right between them. Apparently they were going to have forever and he needed to be his best for his beloved right now, so compartmentalizing it was.
It took a while, but Tim fell asleep too, listening to the soft breaths coming from the small figure in his arms. He’d studied Jonnys face closely, it was still as lovely as he remembered, even with ruined eyeliner covering it.
When he awoke it was Jonny who was studying him. He had been hovering over him when he’d opened his new eyes and had startled back when he’d realized Tim was awake. He said: “Oh, hi, good morning, Tim.”
“Good morning, sunshine.” Tim smiled, “How did you sleep?”
“Great, fine, better.” Jonny mumbled, looking a bit embarrassed, “It was nice to have you here.”
He had always been a terrible sleeper and Tim knew his and Berties presence had made it easier for him to sleep and it was nice to know that it still did. Tim smiled: “That’s good to hear.”
Jonny bit his lip, started to say something and then stopped. He looked at Tim again and Tim grabbed his hand, lightly squeezing to silently let him know that he was there and that it was okay. Jonny softly asked: “You are here, right? This is not just in my head?”
“Yeah, I’m really here.” Tim looked Jonny in the eye, but Jonny adverted his gaze, so he gently took Jonnys cheeks between his hands and said: “I mean it, Jonny, I’m going to do everything in my power to make you realize that I will never leave you again. What I did after-” a deep breath, “after Bertie died was stupid and hurtful and I have to live with the fact that I did that to you when you didn’t deserve it. I love you, Jonny, you’re my everything, and I will stay by your side and tell you that as much a possible for as long as you’ll have me.”
Jonny was crying again, Tim didn’t know if this was a good thing or a bad one, but he held him nonetheless, whispering sweet nothings into his hairline and leaving soft kisses along it.
“I’d- I’d like that.” Jonnys voice cracked, but he sounded so relieved and all Tim could do was squeeze him tightly and hope Jonny would understand.
They sat there for a very long time, Tims stomach was rioting, but he didn’t dare disturb the peaceful air around them. Jonny was playing with his fingers while Tim rubbed his back. After making one of his fingers crack, Jonny seemed startled for a moment, then he asked: “Have you gotten a tour of the ship yet?”
“What?”
“A tour, of Aurora, the- the ship?”
“Oh, no. I just woke up and wondered around a bit.”
“Then I’ll give you one, get dressed.”
Jonny was out of the bed and pulling on clothes, suddenly bustling with activity as he fluttered around the room. He turned and looked expectantly at Tim, who smiled softly and said: “I don’t have clean clothes, poppet.”
“Oh, of course.” Jonnys face got an understanding look on it as he began to dig through his closet, “I think I have one of Brians sweaters here from when I stole it and I must have a pair of sweatpants that can fit you. It will be too short, but it will have to do. And we have to ask Ashes to make sure they’ll get you some new clothes when we land some place habitable.”
The clothes thrown over his shoulder hit Tim, who took them and put them on. The sweatpants were indeed too short, but the sweater was oversized. It reminded him of Berties sweaters that he used to steal.
“Are you alright?” he asked, unsure what brought on the sudden need to move after Jonny had seemed perfectly content to just sit on the bed for the entire day not even a minute ago.
“You need to know where you’re going to stay, right? I mean, you can’t be expected to be with me the entire time, so I need to show you.” Jonny explained.
It sounded like watertight reasoning, but Tim couldn't shake the feeling that Jonny just didn’t want to come across as clingy, which had always been a fear of him. Tim put his arm around Jonnys waist and said: “I think I’m not going to leave your side anytime soon, but I do love to hear you talk, chipmunk, and a sense of direction would be nice. So lead the way!”
He saw a small smile flit over Jonnys face and couldn't help, but pat himself on his back for the excellent reply he had given.
They walked through the halls as Jonny rambled on about the different places behind closed doors, sometimes opening them to show Tim. He was not a very good guide, his talking was chaotic and all over the place and the route never really became clear. But Jonny seemed happy to talk and Tim was perfectly content to listen.
Jonny opened another door as he said: “So this is the kitchen, me and Brian mostly cook, because Ashes tends to burn anything and Nastya and Ivy can’t cook to save their life, you know, so we make the best of it and- oh, hi Nastya.”
“Hello, Jonny,” Nastya crossed her arms and gave Tim a judgmental one over, “Tim.”
“Hi, you must be Nastya.” Tim stepped forward and held out his hand, “We kind of did meet, but, you know, a face to the name.”
Nastya didn’t shake his hand and Tim dropped it. He could feel the nervous energy radiating of Jonny, from what the others had mentioned they must be close and it pained Tim that Nastyas anger at him had this impact on Jonny.
“I know you don’t like me.” he sighed, “I get it, I really do, I feel terrible about leaving Jonny too and I wish I could go back and slap me for it, but I did what I did, okay? I can’t change that and it seems like we’re stuck here together for forever, so you being mad isn’t going to make things better. I’m trying to make it up to Jonny, please, please, give me a chance.”
He didn’t see how Jonny made pleading eyes at her behind his back. He needed Nastya to be okay with Tim, he needed her to give him a chance and he needed her to be there and still like him if it went wrong.
Her shoulders sagged and she warned: “If I ever, and I mean ever, see Jonny cry over you again, I will cut off you genitalia and throw you in Aurora’s engine.”
“Nastyaaa.” Jonny whined, she raised a brow at him: “What, Jonny? It’s not like he won’t deserve it then.”
“I agree with Nastya, dear, full responsibility and accountability.” Tim said.
Jonny rolled his eyes and groaned: “Why is everyone suddenly so overprotective off me. I’m the crazy one and the oldest, I am the protector, not some damsel in distress.”
“Which is exactly why.” Tim and Nastya said in unison, they both looked at each other and Tim felt a slight victory at Nastyas small smile.
“Whatever, I still need to show Tim the couch room.” Jonny started to walk away, before Tim could follow Nastya stopped him and said: “Jonny isn’t the best guide, if you ever need to find anything, just ask Aurora.”
“The starship?”
“Yes.”
And with that Nastya walked away, while Jonny called out to him from where he had walked off in the other direction. Tim quickly walked over and they continued the tour.
Dinner that evening was provided by Brian and quite an awkward affair. Tim tried to get to know the others, but it seemed they had all decided to see if he proved himself worthy, before they accepted him. Brian did offer polite conversation, but that bled dry rather quickly.
In the end he just gave up and ate his dinner in silence, Jonny fiddling anxiously besides him.
The next few days went on quite similarly. He spent most of them with Jonny, who would alternate between too much energy and silent and sullen. Tim tried to keep up with him, but he was starting to get concerned about it and the stares at dinner, which was still violently silent, weren’t helping at all.
So, when they were lying in Jonnys bed, he still hadn’t gotten around to asking Ashes for his own (not that he wanted that), he asked: “What’s going on in that head of yours, munchkin?”
“What- what do you mean?” Jonny asked and Tim could hear the vulnerable defensiveness in his voice.
“I’m just concerned for you. You never want to talk and in some moments you bounce around and in others it seems the world could burn and you won’t move. I just want you to be alright, okay? I want you to talk to me, so that I can try and help.” Tim said, sounding a bit desperate, “I love you, sweetheart, I don’t want to see you upset.”
“Well, I don’t need your concern, I’ve been doing just fine without you.” Jonny spat.
Tim should have seen the outburst coming. He knew he couldn't just walk in and have everything be alright again, but it still hurt. He bit his lip, trying to keep a sharp retort in, but failed: “And I’ve really been seeing that independence lately.”
He knew it was a low blow, but Jonny was already replying before he could take it back and apologize: “Maybe if you weren’t smothering me so much, you would.”
“I- Me? Have I been smothering you?” inside Tim screamed at himself that this was just what Jonny did, he pushed people away and got defensive as if to prove to himself that they wouldn't stay if they saw him. But Tims already fierce soul had turned snappish and angry in the war and he couldn't help, but let false venom spill from his lips.
“Yes,” Jonny crossed his arms, sitting up, “you’re always around, a guy needs his space. I’m not some fragile child that will break the moment you leave me. I survived you leaving me already, I survived a lot without you before that. I don’t need you, but maybe you should think about how much you’re clinging to me.”
The words were a punch to Tims gut, he was trying so hard to be better, to stay, but the hurt was still there in Jonnys mind and that wouldn’t just disappear with Tim here. Maybe Tim deserved to be pushed away.
He got up out of the bed and stated: “Alright, if I’m smothering you that much, then I’ll give you some space.”
And with that he walked out the room. If he had bothered to turn around, he would have seen how Jonnys face crumbled as he curled into a ball on the bed, contemplating if he should call out, but the door was already closed.
Outside Tim realized he had nowhere to go. He still didn’t really know the way and no one aboard Aurora liked him enough to help. Fuck, he really did need Jonny. Why was he so stupid? Why did he let his anger get the best of him?
He suddenly had no energy to do anything and just collapsed on the floor outside of Jonnys room and leaned against the door. He wanted nothing more than to go back in and apologize, but he still wasn’t sure if Jonny was serious about the smothering and he didn’t want to risk angering him even more.
Maybe if he was nice and stayed out of the way tonight, Jonny would want to talk to him again next morning and then he could apologize.
Tim felt like such a dumbass, sitting against the door in his nightshirt. He probably ruined all he did so far. Jonny didn’t need him, not really. Here he had a family that loved him and would die for him, even if they did come back, but Tim still wanted to be the one to tell him how much he was worth and how much he loved him.
It might be selfish, but Tim wanted to be the one to make Jonny blush and smile. He wanted to be there when his brain got the better of him and he needed someone to hold him and tell him it was alright. Tim wanted to be the one who made him happy, just like before.
But now he might have ruined that, just because he snapped back at Jonny even if he already knew Jonny didn’t mean it, that he probably did it out of an insecurity that Tim only fed into instead of banished.
Like an idiot.
He never thought he would miss crying, but now he wanted to do nothing more than give himself over to heaving sobs and hope strong arms would hold him, that Bertie was still here and would make it all better again.
Yes, Bertie would have known what to do and what to say. Bertie was always better about these sort of things, about Jonny. As much as Jonny had him wrapped around his little finger, Bertie could get Jonny to do what he wanted just as easily. Always the right words and smiles ready.
Tim sighed and slumped further against the door and tried to get comfortable on the metal floor, Bertie wasn’t here and the hole in his heart felt deeper than when he was with Jonny. He needed to make it up to the other, but he didn’t know how.
What would Bertie do?
He pondered the question. Bertie would respect Jonny, not be stupid and push him when he was already upset, but if it did go wrong, he would catch him the next day. So that’s what Tim would do now. Tomorrow he promised to himself and Bertie, tomorrow he was going to apologize, grovel if he needed to, now he would just give Jonny space, just in case.
When he woke up, it was because he felt like he was falling. How he had managed to fall asleep, he did not know. He groaned and looked, only to find that it hadn’t been just a feeling, but that Jonny had opened the door he had been leaning against, causing him to fall backwards.
Jonny was looking down on him, a surprised look on his face, red rims around his eyes. He frowned: “What are you doing here?”
“Uh, well, you see, I, uhm,” Tim think of what Bertie would say, but he was not Bertie, he would never be that, so he just had to be himself as he confessed: “I had nowhere to go and I felt really bad about snapping at you, but then I thought that maybe I was smothering you, so I didn’t want to bother you, so I decided to apologize in the morning, because I am really fucking sorry and- are you crying, pumpkin?”
“You- you stayed.” Jonny sniffled, “I got really mad at you, but you still stayed here and tried to listen even if I’ve been really mean to you and you still tried to be nice and I don’t even know why I did that.”
Jonnys knees buckled and he collapsed next to Tim, who quickly sat up to wrap his arms around him. He rocked them slightly back and forth and whispered: “I promised to myself that I would make it up to you, honey. I’m never making the mistake of leaving you ever again.”
After a while Jonny said: “I’m sorry for getting mad at you.”
“I’m sorry for snapping at you, I know you didn’t mean it.” Tim replied, “I just worry about you and I got frustrated, but I shouldn’t have gotten angry with you. I never was the one who was good at that and I just didn’t think.”
Jonny was silent for a moment, then he whispered: “I miss him.”
“Me too.” Tim squeezed Jonny tightly, to reassure him and to remind himself that he was still there and not alone.
“I feel bad, because you’re here and that is already a miracle, but I still miss him.” Jonny was crying and Tim would be concerned about how often he’d seen Jonny cry these past few days, if his own eyes didn’t ache to join him.
All he could do was hold on and say: “It’s alright, well, it’s not, he should be here and I fucking wish nothing more than to have him here with us, but you’re allowed to grieve, dear, just let it all out.”
“Just- Why him?” Jonnys voice cracked, “Why did he have to die? I should have- should have protected him, but I was too late and it’s all so fucking unfair.”
“It is unfair.” Tim agreed, “It’s so unfair, but it’s not your fault, Jonny, it’s not. He would never blame you and neither do I.”
“I hate it, I just hate it.” Jonny pouted, cheeks and eyes wet, but his eyes full of rage, “I fucking hate it.”
“Yeah, I do too, teacup, just don’t hate it so much that it will ruin you, because he wouldn't want that for you.” Tim hated telling Jonny not to let the anger consume him after he had abandoned everything for his own rage.
“You got that perspective now?” Jonny asked, quirking a brow at him, a bit of a sharp edge to his voice.
“I know, it’s too late. Lying on a table in the dark gives you time to think, suddenly realized how pointless it all was and how badly I treated you and how much I wished I could make it better, to just be able hold you again and apologize.” Tim said.
The anger drained out of Jonny and he sighed: “You’re right, of course, you’re fucking right, I just wish anger or violence could be the answer that’s what I do. I can’t- I don’t- Not this. I’m not made for this.”
He sounded so frustrated and broken at the end and Tim just wanted to take all the anger, all the frustration and hurt from him, but he knew he couldn’t. Instead he kissed his forehead and sadly smiled: “No one is made for this, precious. I wasn’t, I’m still not.”
Jonny thought about that. Then he kissed Tim, it was soft and desperate and not really what Tim was used to, but he welcomed it nonetheless. When Jonny pulled back he asked: “What was that about?”
“You’re just so good for me and I know you feel guilty about what happened after B- you know? But you don’t have to feel guilty about it.” Jonny said, it was clear that he’d thought about it for a while, “It hurt, of course it fucking hurt, but I get it, I get it and I can’t be mad at you for it, as much as I want to blame you, I can’t.”
“Jonny-”
“No, let me talk please, because I don’t know if I can say all this again.” Jonny cut him off, “When I went- when I got here, no, before I got here, I- I was angry at my home and I burned it to the ground and it felt good to be angry and do that even if it was pointless, so I get it.”
“But can you forgive me?” Tim asked, scared of the answer, but needing to know.
“Someday, yeah, I can, just- just not now, not yet.” Jonny told him, “But we’re getting there and I still love you.”
The doubt that had been gnawing on him, disappeared with that. It was the first time Jonny told him that he loved him since he’d gotten here and he had been scared that the other didn’t anymore, that he had been too late. He breathed out in relief: “I love you too, starling.”
Jonny let out a small giggle, breaking the sad tension that had hung over them. He smiled: “You with your silly pet names.”
Tim laughed too and promised: “I got a whole lot more, Jonny-boy, don’t you worry.”
“Well, I’d like to hear them.”
“I will try my best, m’lady, but first breakfast!” Tim said, a weight off his shoulder as he pulled Jonny up. This conversation had been what they needed, a bit of clearing the air so that they could move forward and be sure where they stood even if a fight had brought it on.
They walked to breakfast hand in hand. The past few days they had been close, but the barrier of uncertainty was gone now and the contact now felt more natural. A happy bubble floated up in Tims chest as Jonny chattered on about a stupid dream he’d had.
Entering the dining room everyones gaze fell on them. Ashes stood up, butter knife in hand, and asked: “Has Jonny been crying? What did you do to him?”
Where before he would sit silent and say nothing, just send them pleading glances to keep their mouth shut, Jonny now snapped: “Don’t do this, Ashes. If he could, he would have been crying too. It was good crying, now shut the fuck up before I shoot you.”
“Are you sure?” Ashes asked. Tim noticed Nastya had stood up as well, hand at her holster.
“Yes, I’m sure. You could all be a bit nicer to Tim, it’s not like he doesn’t belong here. He is family too now, it would do you good to get to know him at least.”
Ashes looked a bit unsure at that, but they did sit down again and so did Nastya. With that done, Jonny seemed a bit more awkward, thorn between Tim and his other family. Tim just dragged him to his chair and said: “Come on, eat something. You get cranky when you’re hungry.”
“I do not.” Jonny replied indignantly.
Tim rolled his eyes playfully and smirked: “So that time you forgot to eat and then complained about the soil for two hours and threatened to shoot me over telling you to calm down, was just you being happily full, eh, bubbles?”
Jonny blushed a bright scarlet and mumbled something that was drowned out by Ashes chocking loudly. They now registered the pet names that they had missed in the surprise back when Tim had first arrived and exclaimed: “Bubbles?”
The flush got darker and Jonny gritted out: “Shut up.”
Some of the others laughed as well and Tim felt kind of bad for the embarrassment he was causing Jonny, but it really wasn’t his fault. He’d tried to keep the pet names on the down low with everyone hating him, but, with the more relaxed atmosphere between him and Jonny, it had just slipped out.
Tim had been about to save Jonny when The Toy Soldier asked: “What Is So Weird About Tim Calling Jonny Bubbles? He Always Uses Strange Names That Aren’t Jonny To Refer To Him.”
Multiple people at the table began to grin as Jonny tried to disappear into thin air with no success. Interested Nastya asked: “Really, TS? What sort of names then?”
“Well, I Remember Dearie, Gorgeous, Sweetie, Jellybean-” The Toy Soldier was cut off by Jonny, who shot it before glaring at everyone and saying: “Not a goddamn word.”
“Ahw, are you embarrassed about me, missy?” Tim teased, knowing the last time he’d used that particular moniker Jonny had spluttered for a full minute or two.
The effect was the same. The already prominent blush spread further and further as Jonny waved his gun haphazardly around and gaped like a fish. There was more laughter and in the end he just dramatically draped himself over Tim as he exclaimed: “Why do you hate me?”
Carding a hand through his hair Tim said: “I could never. Here, I’ll even make you coffee.”
“‘M gonna need something stronger than coffee,” Jonny pouted, still hiding his face, “but you’re making a strong argument.”
Tim decided he liked the new vibe in the room with the others, as it allowed Jonny to be softer and him to be more himself as well. He gently reminded Jonny: “I thought we had all agreed first coffee then something else, cuddle bug. Remember?”
With his face still hidden Jonny couldn't see the others biting their lips at the pet name. All wanted to see if Jonny would actually do it. They of course didn’t know how Bertie had made the most convincing puppy dog eyes as he played up the concerned boyfriend act when they made the agreement.
“Alright, but I’m drinking something stronger right after.” apparently Jonny was going to honor the agreement, even if the other party wasn’t there anymore.
With a smile Tim got up and went to make coffee after he had gently pushed Jonny off of himself. While he was away, Brian leaned over and softly said: “He seems nice. You look happier, Jonny. That’s good. I’m glad for you.”
Nastya and Ashes nodded. Jonny couldn't help but smile at that, he’d been so worried when everyone had seemed mad at Tim. He didn’t like to see his family members fighting and a part of him had feared that the animosity would never fade.
The moment was ruined by Ashes who asked: “How many times will you kill me if I ever refer to you as bubbles or cuddle bug or missy? And how mad will you get when I tell him you used to be a cowboy?”
They were answered by a shot through their head, however it was too late, because Tim had entered just in time to witness the murder. He raised his brow and asked: “I’ve gathered the immortality thing, but is this a regular occurrence?”
“Sadly, yes, there is 67% chance that someone will not survive the day when everyone is in a good mood, this rises to 91.5% when someone isn’t.” Ivy told him.
“Great.” Tim said, handing Jonny his coffee, which he took gratefully, before making himself a bowl of cereal as well as one for Tim.
Ashes and TS didn’t wake up during breakfast and Tim had a pleasant chat with Brian about string instruments, apparently the other played banjo. Meanwhile Jonny and Nastya seemed to be having an in depth conversation about whether Ashes would be mad if Jonny stole their tongue.
When the last spoonful was in gone, Tim got up and stated: “I want to see this observation deck that I’ve heard about. Come on, cowboy, lead the way.”
“Oh no, you heard that?” Jonny groaned, but he got up anyway to show Tim.
“I almost get the feeling that you’re ashamed of my pet names.” Tim told him, then more dramatically he went on, “The light of my life, my own little gremlin and cutie pie, ashamed of little humble me.”
“Oh come on, you dork. That’s enough teasing material to last them a few centuries, the vultures.” despite his words Jonny had a smile on his lips and Tim hadn’t seen him happier in a very long while.
He ceased his pet names onslaught and just let Jonny drag him away from the others to the observation deck where they both sat down to watch the stars.
Tim had wrapped his arm around Jonny, who leaned into him gratefully. It was oddly domestic after most of their experiences together being in the middle of a war, but Tim found that he quite liked this opportunity for a new them.
There was still a lot to do, a lot to work through and talk about. Tim had to adjust to an immortal life and fully win over the others, even if he was already on the way. He’d have to get used to living again, for the first time actually function without Bertie there. There was also Jonny, whose forgiveness and trust he still had to earn, despite the love he already had. It all seemed very daunting, but with Jonny under his arm, safely tucked into his side, it didn’t seem so bad anymore.
“I love you, nugget.” he told Jonny softly, planting a kiss on the top of his head.
“I love you too, Tim.” Jonny replied, shifting to make himself even more comfortable next to Tim.
Yeah, this wasn’t so bad. Tim could get used to this.
CBS Metaverse: Life Before, Life Beyond, Kolbahan
Kolbahan is an MtG realm that acts both as a realm before life *and* after life. The terrain is made up of blue grass, glowing marigolds of different colours, as well as colourful crystal gravel. There are spirals of land that contain buildings with stained glass windows containing luminescent gel. Colourful lamp orbs also adorn the streets, and the railing on the outer end of the spirals are adorned with candles emitting flames of different colours. The architecture is a mixture of Aztec, Mexican, and Victorian. There are also plenty of glowing blue pools.
Kolbahan has two moons, both of them always full and white. Moon A follows the same lunar cycle of Earth as seen at latitude 45°, while Moon B follows the same solar cycle of Earth as seen at latitude 45°. B-Lunar zenith is opposite that of civil twilight zenith. The zenith of the “full moon” phase (Both moons are always full!) of Moon A largely matches the zenith of Moon B, whereas the zenith of the “new moon” phase largely matches the zenith of civil twilight.
Nuevalmas have rubbery bodies that glow in the dark, and their bodies can come in various different colours. About 0.1% of the humans and humanoids from most other MtG realms (that are not also afterlife realms) have been nuevalmas prior to ‘birth’ - and they will return to Kolbahan upon ‘death’. In addition, the firstborn (sex/gender doesn’t matter) are 100% guaranteed to enter Kolbahan upon ‘death’ - as well as all the firstborn down the lineage. The second born of a nuevalma and down the firstborn lineage are 50% likely to enter Kolbahan upon ‘death’, and the third born of a nuevalma and down the firstborn lineage are 25% likely to enter Kolbahan upon ‘death’. Also eligible is the seventh offspring of a seventh offspring - where sex/gender doesn’t matter, nor do they need to be descended from a nuevalma. They do, however, need to be full-blooded siblings - thus, due to biological reproduction, making it inapplicable to certain humanoid species  True soul mates of all the above-mentioned are also eligible to enter Kolbahan upon ‘death’. Anyone who ‘died’ between the ages of five and nine and are descended from a nuevalma also enter Kolbahan.
It should be known that the lineage is also applicable to humanoids such as trolls, lilliputians, and mermies - even though they reproduce differently from humans and are usually unable to determine who their ancestors are.
Typically, nuevalmas wait at least twenty years before being ‘born’ in another MtG realm of their choice - and they maintain the mental age of five. Prior to their birth proper, a nuevalma switches places with a twelve-year-old human or humanoid from their their realm of choice for a week - who, in turn, spend a week in Kolbahan. The switch is marked by the glowing eyes of the nuevalma. Afterward, the twelve-year-old is destined to enter Kolbahan upon ‘death’.
All those who are destined to enter Kolbahan are capable of entering the realm via meditation and holding a marigold leaf, which is referred to as ‘entering the zone’. All those who have ‘entered the zone’ resemble how they appear in their home realm - aside from lilliputians being the same size of regular humans, and mermies having two scaly legs.
All those who enter Kolbahan upon ‘death’ become calacas - skeletons with painted colourful skulls, eyeballs, and teeth. Even in their skeletal state, they are able to eat and drink. For a certain amount of mama points, they are able to return to their other realm and reunite with loved ones.
Another sapient species that exists in Kolbahan are alebrijes - which take on the shape of various mammals but have colourful elaborately designed bodies that are chameleon-like with colourful bird wings, and they act as the guardians to both the nuevalmas and the calacas.
A portion of Kolbahan connects to Imagination Island from Arcavios, which is surround by an azure fog - and it is a popular destination spot particularly with the nuevalmas and the younger calacas, although it is also greatly enjoyed by the older denizens of Kolbahan.
Kolbahan gets most of their food from the Mercadia bazaar, and it is also very common for the calacas to bring back food from their other realm. It’s common to also receive visitors from the Shandalar Carnival, the Ergamon cruise ships, the charger rings of Iquatana, and a few other elaborate methods.
Chapter 46: Tang Fan Spends His First New Year with Sui Zhou and Ah Dong
Context: Nothing much really happens between Chapter 44 and 46, except that Tang Fan’s teacher disagrees with the Emperor on a particular topic and is sort of demoted/sent away to some faraway province. Tang Fan and Pan Bin are not sure how to advice their teacher on this - on one hand, they know that their teacher is stubborn and has his reasons for his views, but Tang Fan, despite knowing how his teacher is, tries to persuade him to make peace with the Emperor and his teacher gets angry. He tells Sui Zhou of his dilemma, but they also agree there isn’t much that can be done and Tang Fan sends their teacher off with the rest of the students.
This chapter doesn’t have much link to Chapter 45. We begin with the imminent Lunar New Year and how the Tang and Sui family prepare for it. Sui Zhou turns up at the end, and it’s more of Tang Fan and Ah Dong in this, but it was cute and I thought I’d translate it anyway.
Introduction Post | Masterpost
Highlights under the cut
Tang Fan cannot remember how long it has been since he got to spend the New Year properly and fully. His parents died early and after his sister married far away, the importance he placed on such a holiday decreased. Being an official all by himself in Jing city, he has spent the holiday in increasingly colder and lonelier fashion. He is already used to staying in his house alone, relaxing as he reads his fiction novels and keeping warm by the fire.
However, even though it is already a habit for him, in reality, when Ah Dong gleefully and very obviously begins to hang up chun lian and eating fruits, the memories that have long been hidden somewhere deep in his mind resurfaces.
Even though Ah Dong is still young, she is after all a young lady and knows how to dress up with her clever hands. She is much more meticulous and can think of a greater number of things, so she’s responsible for everything inside and outside of the house. Aside from putting up chun lian, men like Tang Fan and Sui Zhou will never think of hanging up some red lanterns at the corridors to increase the festive spirit, for example.
Closer to the end of the year, the affairs that Shun Tian Prefecture has to deal with has also gradually lessened, but the Northern Administrative Court on the other hand, is only getting busier. Sui Zhou leaves the house early and returns late every day, so only Tang Fan is able to go home early to help out.
However, he is obviously not the type to excel at housework. He can even lose the cloth he’s using while he’s wiping at things and Ah Dong pushes him outside, looking down on him, “Da-ge, don’t make things even messier than they are. Go and write a pair of chun lian, and don’t forget to write the word for ‘prosperity’. Every house has to have one!”
Tang Fan laughs, “I’ve already written them and stuck them all up. Even my sister isn’t as naggy as you are!”
He ends up leaning against the pillar and watches as Ah Dong busies herself, scrambling about. His heart is all warm, “How about I boil some water for you? Or wipe the pillars? The pillars are so tall and you can’t reach them, I have to end up doing it, no?”
Ah Dong is currently wiping at a chair and once again, she rolls her eyes in detestation, “As long as you don’t end up losing my cloth somehow later, I’ll be thanking the heavens already!”
Tang Fan doesn’t get angry and is instead rather delighted at this.
“Didn’t we end up finding it? Besides, Ah Dong, why do I feel like you’ve become much more hardworking recently? You haven’t been eating as enthusiastically anymore too, are you trying to help me save on provisions and food?”
Ah Dong sticks out her tongue at him, “That’s not it. Sui-dage chided me the other day.”
Alarmed, Tang Fan asks, “What did he say? Why don’t I know about this?”
Ah Dong snickers, “It’s not much really. He said you work very hard at the courts and reminded me not to just think about going out to play and end up neglecting you.”
Tang Fan did not expect Sui Zhou to still remember this. He has obviously taken the incident when Tang Fan sat at the back door, sitting there as the cold winds blew and ended up ill, to heart, and that is why he went to speak to Ah Dong secretly.
He also knows that Ah Dong didn’t stop cooking for him because she was playful, but because during that time he was so busy that he ended up collapsing in bed immediately the moment he got home. Every time Ah Dong cooked, he ended up eating outside and not eating when he came home, and the food was wasted. This happened a few times and Ah Dong didn’t know when he was going to come home for dinner. Hence, she stopped cooking, but now that they’ve moved past those days without any routine, everything has returned to normal.
Hearing Ah Dong say that, Tang Fan feels a little sheepish because Little Ah Dong has turned into a scapegoat for this incident, “I’ll speak to your Sui-dage some other day.”
“You don’t have to!” Ah Dong continues to grin, “I know that Sui-dage treats me as his little sister and that’s why he scolded me. If I was someone who didn’t matter to him, he wouldn’t even bother to say so much! I may be young, but I know who is truly good to me. Like previously, the old lady from the Li family, Ah Chun-jiejie and the rest, everyone who has been good to me, I remember them all!”
Tang Fan teases, “So who’s not good to you?”
Ah Dong shakes her head, “I forgot! I was sold to the Li family as a slave previously, and the sellers were not good to me, but I can’t even remember how they look like now. Da-ge, didn’t you say, we should remember blessings and forget grudges, that way we can be happy everyday!”
“That’s right! Aiyo, as your da-ge I am very happy that you remember every word that I’ve said. Seeing that you’re so heartless, I thought you only think of food everyday,” he laughs.
Rolling her eyes again, Ah Dong says, “Eating is our priority, and everything else is secondary to that, this is also something that you taught me.”
Tang Fan rolls his eyes at the retort, “Since when did I teach you something like this, wouldn’t you be a rice bucket already if I did?”
“Yes, you are!” Ah Dong snorts.
***
The people work hard every year as they busy themselves, all so they can reunite at home and peacefully sit down for a good reunion dinner. If they can have an additional plate of fish and meat on the table, then that is the greatest reward they have earned this year.
In a small three-sectioned house in the north of the city, there is the addition of Ah Dong this year and Tang Fan no longer needs to spend the new year alone.
Although Sui Zhou has moved out, his parents are still around and naturally, he has to go home for reunion dinner as well. He did invite Tang Fan and Ah Dong to accompany him to the dinner, but Tang Fan refused, saying that he and Ah Dong have not spent the new year together yet and this year is their very first year, so as siblings they need to spend time with each other properly.
Since he said that, Sui Zhou of course did not press and headed back to the Sui family home for dinner, while Tang Fan and Ah Dong stayed behind to get through the new year together.
Initially when Tang Fan adopted Ah Dong as his younger sister, he did so at Ah Dong’s behest, because Tang Fan could not bear to see her get sold to another family. She is a fine young lady that was forced to become a slave, and so Tang Fan destroyed her slave contract, returning her freedom to her, then adopting her, so that this young lady could have someone to depend on in the future.
Of course, if Ah Dong’s personality was terrible or if she was unable to get along with him, Tang Fan would have simply returned her slave contract to her, or found another family to settle her in. He never would have let her stay at his side, so at the end of the day, this is still considered affinity between them.
And yet, since having Ah Dong around, Tang Fan really does not need to do anything anymore. Even for their reunion dinner, because he wanted to help cut vegetables but ended up making a whole mess, he was chased out of the kitchen while Ah Dong mocked him for being born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
Tang-daren could only stand at the side and help to bring her bowls and ingredients. He is after all a judge, one who has firmly argued with the Western Depot’s chief and managed to hold his own facing him, but today, he is being ordered around by this young little girl. However, his heart is warm, feeling a sense of gleefulness at this.
Once the skies have completely darkened, the ba xian table is already filled with dishes.
***
The two siblings chat happily with each other and after their dinner, they start clearing away the bowls and chopsticks and begin the custom of getting through the night to the new year.
Most people sleep early at night but there are exceptions as well. On the night of new year’s eve, both the old and young in the family have to stay up till midnight. This is a custom that has been passed on from olden times, and it has remained unchanged until today. The night is long, and the children can play with sparklers, while the adults have to think about more activities to pass the time.
There is only Tang Fan and Ah Dong in the house, and it is such a wonderful new year’s eve night, so Tang Fan does not want to read his fiction novels to pass the time either. The both of them end up looking for some games to play.
Forgetting about playing Chinese chess — aside from the fact that Ah Dong is still young and doesn’t understand the game, even if she does, she would have only just grasped the basics. The skill difference between them both is too huge and even if they did play, it wouldn’t be any fun, so Tang Fan finds a vase and some bamboo sticks.
The both of them start to play toss and betting on who can get their more sticks to go into the vase. Five throws a round and whoever wins two out of three rounds is considered the winner. The loser will have to stand at the door and bark like a dog.
Tang Fan still has a childlike heart despite his age, and he excitedly begins to play the game with Ah Dong.
After one round however, he realizes something is amiss and asks, “Why are you so accurate with your throws, were you naturally gifted like this?”
Ah Dong is confused, “What is that? I didn’t eat that!”
Tang Fan says, “I think we can increase your daily studying tasks. What I meant is, were you naturally so good at tossing?”
“Not at all, it’s only after I troubled Sui-dage to teach me martial arts and he passed me a small bow. He asked me to shoot at leaves everyday, and whenever I can hit one I pass.”
“Then have you managed to hit any leaves yet?”
“I did, but out of ten tries I only manage to hit two, and it was because I got lucky,” she says, embarrassed.
“… I feel like I’ve made a mistake the moment I suggested tossing with you.”
Ah Dong’s eyes go wide, “Da-ge, are you trying to get out of this?”
Helplessly, Tang Fan says, “I’m not, but can we have a discussion about this, how about doing away with the bet?”
Ah Dong seems very dim at times, but when it counts, she is still rather crafty and so she replies, “No. Da-ge you said before, as a person we have to make our words count, and a promise is worth a thousand taels of gold!”
Tang Fan pats at her head, huffing in annoyance, “I don’t see you being so smart when you study, but you’re now reciting idioms! These three rounds have not yet ended, it’s difficult to say who will end up the winner or loser!”
His competitive spirit has been ignited, but physical deftness is also something considered a natural gift and is hardly something that can be had just because Tang-daren is trying his best at it now. His struggles are futile, and after the round ends he still loses. Two out of three wins, this is a rule he set, and now he’s paying for it.
Ah Dong laughs out loud, “Da-ge, those that are willing to take a gamble must bear the consequences of losing!”
Tang Fan is not willing to be looked down on by this little girl, and he thinks, there is no one outside right now on the night of new year’s eve, so what if he opens the door and barks twice? Even if other people hear him they would think some other house’s dog is barking, and so he says, “I am naturally willing to bear the consequences of losing. Your da-ge’s words count, since when have I reneged on my words? You must really learn these virtues of mine!”
Ah Dong makes a funny face at him praising himself, and follows quickly behind him to be entertained by Tang Fan making a fool out of himself.
Tang Fan opens the door and outside the door hangs two red lanterns. Their surroundings are illuminated slightly, the very picture of happiness and prosperity.
Steeling his resolve, he immediately barks, “Woof! Woof! Woof!”
Before he barks for the last time, someone appears before him, nearly scaring Tang-daren to death.
Looking closely, Tang Fan realizes that it’s Sui Zhou.
Tang Fan, “…”
Sui Zhou, “…”
Tang-daren feels like he has lost all his face.
He complains first, “Why are you here, not even a single sound of your footsteps!”
Helpless, Sui Zhou responds, “I have always walked without much noise, what are you doing barking at the door?”
Behind them, Ah Dong’s laughter echoes and Tang Fan’s face goes red, “He made a bet and lost!”
Sui Zhou nods and goes ‘oh’, “What were you playing?”
“Tossing,” Tang Fan replies, and then it dawns on him, “What are you doing back so early? Aren’t you staying the night over there?”
The both of them walk inside the house, one in front of the other as Sui Zhou says, “No, I’m not.”
He does not elaborate but with Tang Fan’s intelligence, he knows that surely some conflict has arisen at home and so Sui Zhou decided to come back after dinner. Without asking any more questions, he smiles, “It’s an opportune time for you to be back. It’s only interesting to play chess with three people, if I play with only Ah Dong, I cannot do it because it’s too easy to win!”
Ah Dong sticks out her tongue at him again, “That’s right, that’s why you chose tossing, the most difficult game, and you ended up losing anyway!”
“You!” Tang Fan schools his expression into an angry one and raises his hand, pretending to hit her and the young lady only giggles before running off, “We have to stay up tonight, I’ll go boil some water and make tea for you both!”
Seeing the both of them make such a ruckus, a hint of a smile emerges on Sui Zhou’s face and he thinks, it is good that he came back. Without saying anything, just looking at them like this, he feels happy.
If this is the first interesting new year Tang Fan has experienced since his family was broken, then it is the same for Sui Zhou and Ah Dong. The three of them have different experiences in life, but have gathered together due to fate.
It is said that they have to cultivate ten years worth of fate to be able to experience life on the same boat. For them to have ended up under the same roof together, they must have at least cultivated fifty years worth of fate or more.
The three of them start with chess and with the addition of Sui Zhou, everything becomes slightly more interesting. Everyone is relaxed and Tang Fan does not go in for the kill, so they take their turns to lose and win. Amidst the chatter and laughter, time passes quickly.
Midnight nears and the sound of firecrackers from both near and afar going off becomes more frequent. Firecrackers are lit not only to welcome the new year, but to also do away with the old, so many families will not only light the firecrackers after midnight, but will also light up another round before midnight to symbolize erasing the old and bringing in the new, welcoming a fresh start for everyone.
Tang Fan and the rest of them have also bought firecrackers. Sui Zhou goes out to light some up and Ah Dong lights up sparklers in the courtyard. The loud popping of the firecrackers echo in the alley, the sound ringing in their ears at intervals. Coupled with the vibrant sparklers, the entire courtyard is awash in light temporarily. Ah Dong laughs, shouts and claps, and even though there is only the three of them, the atmosphere created is both jubilant and lively.
Setting down the firecrackers and the sparklers, Ah Dong runs into the kitchen to cook some dumplings.
The dumplings have already been made, filled randomly with white cabbage, minced pork meat and prawns. The white and tender dumplings bobble up and down in the boiling water. She scoops them all up and plates them. Sui Zhou takes a brief glance and is stunned speechless.
There are prettily made, high quality dumplings in the plate, but there are also flawed ones that have been made in odd shapes. Some of the skin on the flawed ones, once put in boiling water, are torn, the filling inside exposed, and it is truly hard to look at.
Tang-daren is truly very thick-skinned as well, as he laughs, “Haha, it must be that the fillings want to see who are the people eating them, and so they could not wait to come out!”
Sui Zhou and Ah Dong turn to stare at him, and even without saying a word, their gazes both say: Shameless!
Tang-daren pretends not to see their looks and picks one up, dipping it in vinegar before putting it in his mouth. He does not forget to praise his own work, “It’s really delicious! You can see how skilled the person who made the dumplings is. You guys should eat too! What are you looking at me for? Come, come!”
Tang Fan has certainly reached a new realm and level of being thick-skinned.
The other two have nothing else to say and all they can do is bury their heads and start eating.
Suddenly, Ah Dong goes ‘aiya’ and spits out a coin from her mouth.
Tang Fan laughs, “You’ve struck fortune! You’ll have good luck in the coming year!”
Ah Dong is rather happy, and buzzing with joy, she wipes the coin clean and places it on the table.
After a while, Sui Zhou also bites on a coin. Tang Fan and Ah Dong repeat the same congratulatory words to him.
After a moment, Tang Fan himself also manages to hit one.
This repeats a few times.
Finally, Ah Dong is mad and disparages, “Da-ge, exactly how many did you put in there?”
There are thirty-odd dumplings in a plate and subtracting the flawed ones from the mix, the three of them have found a total of almost thirteen coins. Putting these coins in the dumplings are typically used to find some sign of good fortune in the coming year, but look at them now, every once in a while they are hurting their teeth on a coin like this.
Tang Fan and Sui Zhou are paying a little more attention, so it is not as bad for them, but Ah Dong almost shattered all her teeth on one and begins to groan and moan pitifully.
The heartless Tang-daren laughs at her misfortune seeing her like this, “I didn’t get to eat that many coins when I was young, so I’ve put more this time in case we don’t get to eat any, who asked you to bite so hard?”
Ah Dong is unwilling to show any sign of weakness and the two of them start fighting again, until Sui Zhou returns from clearing away the bowls and chopsticks. The young lady is finally drowsy. She rubs at her eyes, but the expression on her face shows that she has never been more content in her life.
“Da-ge, do you think we can still spend new year like this again in the years after this?” Ah Dong lies against Tang Fan as she sits, waiting determinedly for midnight to befall them.
“What do you think, Guang Chuan?” Tang Fan caresses at her head, looking up to ask Sui Zhou, who has just walked through the door.
“Mnn,” Sui-baihu agrees, his answer short but affirmative.
Notes:
*春联 chun lian
Lunar new year couplets! Often written on red paper during the new year and comes in pairs. The words written usually have to do with fortune, prosperity, luck and riches and are written either in typical black ink or in gold ink nowadays, since gold ink was made available.
*八仙桌 ba xian zhuo
Considered a traditional Chinese furniture, it is a square table that sits two people on each side, totalling eight people just like the eight (ba) deities (xian), which is why the table has been named as such.
*守夜 shou ye
We still practise this today - it is said that the later younger members of the family stay up, the more fortune they are accumulating for the elders of the family (for example, for their longevity and good health). A lot of people stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing mahjong and what not on the eve of Lunar New Year. Of course, this is not really strict, and most people do go to bed after midnight.
*天赋异禀 vs 天赋异饼 tian fu yi bing
Both four-character words are pronounced as tian fu yi bing, with the first being the more commonly written phrase, meaning someone who is naturally and generously gifted with skills etc. The last character 禀 bing was misheard and misinterpreted by Ah Dong, who thought the 饼 bing was referring to the character than meant ‘pastry’ or ‘biscuit’, and that is why Ah Dong thinks that Tang Fan is asking if she ate some kind of pastry when he asks if she has always been gifted with tossing accuracy in the game.
*丢脸 diu lian
In Chinese culture, being embarrassed or humiliated is described as losing face. There is nothing more important than having and keeping face for the Chinese XD
*脸皮厚 lian pi hou
Thick-skinned, to describe someone without any shame.
