Venti hugs you from behind, giggling when you scold him for surprising you. “I can’t help it! Whenever I see you my heart feels like it’s about to-- Huh? Do you not believe me?” You can almost hear the pout in his voice. “But it’s true!”

Finally rounding to face you, Venti takes your hands in his. His eyes are sparkling with liveliness as ever, but there’s something about this moment that feels like he’s making a promise; somehow, it’s one that genuinely makes you feel reassured. “I love you, and I’ll always be by your side.”

He has never been the best with words, yet...

Xiao cups your face in his hands - secure, yet with a touch so gentle that it feels as if he was holding the most precious thing in the world. And in a way, he is, since it’s you, you, you, and not anyone else.

When he first tries the words on his tongue, it comes off too soft, too fleeting. Thus Xiao repeats it once more, with a firmness in his voice that proved its weight. “I love you. I’m not sure when this began, but there’s no doubt that I do.” He pauses for the briefest of moments. “So please, never forget to call for me when you are in need.”

Kazuha’s musings are ethereal under the light of the moon. He turns around to look at you, tender gaze stealing your attention. "...He says, ‘I love you.’” The wanderer finishes. Kazuha offers his hand, carefully pulling you atop a boulder. From here, you can see the ocean; though it’s clear that its beauty does nothing to tear your eyes away from one another right now.

You both lose yourselves in the moment, as if caught in a trance. When Kazuha breaks out of it, his surprise lives for a millisecond before melting into a smile. “As far as someone such as I could have a home, I hope you don’t take offence when I say that... I’d be honored to have you as mine. I love you.”

Stardew Valley is weird because on the surface it’s so WHOLESOME and SWEET and it’s about getting back to farming and escaping the real world and raising cute little animals but then you get into the lore and it’s like “Yeah, the Witch turned to dark magic and child sacrifice after the Wizard did *something* that might or might not have produced one of your potential love interests with a married woman, the fandom is split on it. Also your beloved spouse could grow to resent and hate you if you don’t continue to give them presents after marriage.”
