The movie illuminated the t.v. located in the living room. You and Gunil were having a movie date night. However your main focus was not the movie it was keeping your eyes open. You had a very long and tiring day, but you still wanted to spend time with your boyfriend, Gunil. Before you knew it you had lost the battle against sleep, head landing on Gunil’s shoulder as the rest of you slumped into his side. He initially tensed at the sudden newfound weight, yet he immediately relaxed once he realized it was you. Admiring your face for a moment prior to readjusting you to a more comfortable position, head on his chest with his arm wrapped protectively around your frame. Gunil knew you had a long day and needed the rest. He grabbed his phone and snapped a quick photo of your sleeping state. Then he set it as his wallpaper thinking you were the cutest thing. If you were still sleeping when the movie ended he would pick you up and tuck you into bed. Leaving a kiss on your forehead and uttering “Goodnight angel,”

Jungsu

Jungsu had a free day from schedules and you guys spent it together just lounging around. The both of you were currently in your bedroom. It was sometime in the afternoon and you were seated on the floor in Jiseoks bedroom at the dorm. His guitar occupied his lap while you were wrapped around him like a koala from his back. He called your antics silly, but when you went to let go.

O.de/Seungmin

The sun had already set and the moon shone brightly in the night sky. You and Seungmin were currently on the bus heading back from your long day out. The two of you shared headphones, listening to a playlist that the both of you had created together. You naturally rested your head against his shoulder and he leaned his head against yours. You found yourself caving to the exhaustion of having been out most of the day. Seungmin noticed and told you to get some rest. ₊˚ෆ a lot of stellars believe that they should’ve made kingdom come be the title track, seeing that it’s gone so viral, but others understand why nobody knows was chosen for the title track.

Getting into an argument with their S/O and then sleeping next to them

Summary: What couple doesn't fight? Name one? Right so how would our Heroes react after having an argument with their S/O and then having to go to bed with them?

Warnings: obviously arguing, some language, little romance (I do happy endings in this household)

Scenario: boyfriend AU, slight angst, fluff, and romance

Author's Note: I'm not really good at instigating arguments, but I'll do my best 😅

Gun-il 🖤

This was weird

This was yours and Gun-il's first argument

It started on the phone

You were feeling a little neglected

You understood the terms and conditions to dating an Idol

There was a lot of things that came with Gun-il

Thousands of screaming fans

Busy schedules

5 other members

But you still agreed to it

Gun-il tried to remain calm

But the amount of stress he was under

Caused him to yell at you

Which in return you yelled back

The guys just stood there

Like 👀

Gun-il was pissed off

So pissed off he couldn't focus anymore

It was late and the guys told Gun-il to go home and fix things with you

You laid in bed trying to fight every urge to cry into your pillow

You held the pillow Gun-il usually slept on

"Wow.... have I been replaced by a pillow?"

You heard his familiar voice but didn't look at him

"At least it's actually here" you snapped

Gun-il couldn't stand this any longer

He crawled into bed next to you and took the pillow out of your hands

"I'm sorry Jagiya... can we please not fight anymore, I will try hard to be there more often, we just have a lot of preparations, please understand?"

You finally turned around and met his eyes

They were slightly swollen and pink

"Gun were you crying!?" You sat up

He laughed a little and nodded

You've only seen him cry once

And it was heartbreaking

You threw your arms around his neck and hugged him like there was no tomorrow

You both apologized profusely to each other

Finally, he laid down, holding you in his arms.

But it happened

You had made a comment about his busy schedules

That was only supposed to stay in your head

But it just slipped out

Jungsu felt hurt

It wasn't fair

If made him feel like he had to choose between you or his career

The argument lasted for a long time

Finally you two had to separate from each other

In order to calm down

You laid down on the bed

Junsgu called Gun-il

He didn't know what to do

He was seriously conflicted

He felt like if he chose one

He'd lose the other

But finally after an hour long phone call with his leader

He came to a conclusion

He gently knocked on the door of your shared bedroom

And saw you lying on your bed

He came over and laid beside you

"Jagiya.... please don't make me choose"

"I already know which one you would choose Jungsu"

"You're wrong though... I can't choose, I can't choose, because I want you both in my future"

You finally realized what you said was completely unfair

And the guilt turned into tears

"Jungsu.... I'm so sorry!" You cried as you hugged him

"I should have never made you choose!"

Jungsu smiled and breathed a sigh of relief as he held you

Thanking whatever higher ups for not giving up on your relationship.

Jiseok looks like he's scary AF when he's mad

And boy was he mad

He was already frustrated with things at the company building

His desperate pleads made your heart ache

You nodded and hugged him tightly

"I won't Jiseok... I promise, I'm sorry for what I said"

He shakes his head as he grips you tighter

"Let's not even talk about that"

You held onto him close as you two fell back asleep

And a little distant

You finally confronted him about your feelings and he snapped

"I'm not a child Y/N!"

Seungmin didn't talk to you for the rest of the evening

He laid in bed trying to fall asleep but he kept tossing and turning

The small sounds of sniffling entered his ears

He looked over to see your back facing him

"Y/N? Are you crying?" He asked

His tone gentler now

"No..." you whimpered out

Seungmin lightly pulled your shoulder to get you to roll over and face him

"Why are you crying?" He asked

"I'm worried about you Min... youre always working hard and coming home really late"

Seungmin smiled a little as he pulled you closer into his arms

"Jagiya, it's just work... I have a lot of people I can't let down, my hyungs, Hyeongjun, Jooyeon, PD-nim, all the Villains, and you"

"You've never let me down Seungmin, I just worry about you, I'm allowed to"

He nods and kisses your head and hugs you tightly

"I'm sorry if I snapped at you, tell you what, I have a day off tomorrow, let's stay here and watch movies and eat snacks!".

Hyeongjun was being super distant from you

When you finally did see him, it was only for a minute because he forgot something

This was going on for a few days

Hyeongjun came home

So you jumped up and held your arms out for him to run into

But he didn't

He just moved your arm out of the way and walked past you

"Han Hyeongjun what the hell is your problem!"

"Nothing Y/N, just not in the mood"

You felt like a pest

"Jun, you've been so distant from me..."

"Well I'm busy! I don't have to always be right with you!"

"You've barely said three words to me this week Hyeongjun"

"Fine I won't bother you then!"

Felt like it was being taken out on you

Hyeongjun has never been one to open to people or show his emotions

This argument started with a small complaint

Jooyeon made a small comment about you agreeing to being in a relationship with him

But he almost sounded like he didn't care if you stayed or left

Jooyeon is also similar to Hyeongjun when it comes to expressing feelings

He's not very good at it

And that's what started the argument

"Do you even care about me Lee Jooyeon!?"

He sighed and stood up off the couch

"I'm not doing this right now"

You were completely hurt by his comment

You really felt like you meant nothing to him now

That night you both laid in bed

Facing away from each other

Not saying a word to each other

Falling into a deep almost pointless sleep.

When morning rose

Jooyeon rolled over to see you sleeping facing him

There tear stains on your cheeks and pillow

You cried yourself to sleep

That's when it hit him

He did love you

He couldn't lose you

He got up gently from the bed and sat out in the living room

He grabbed his guitar and began playing an acoustic version of his and your favorite song

His voice woke you up as he sat on the couch playing the familiar song

You slowly got up from the bed and walked out listening to him sing your song

You came up behind him and wrapped your arms around his neck and kisses his cheek

"I'm sorry baby... I don't know what I was thinking yesterday"

You nodded and climbed over the couch and sat in front of him

The Day Yohan Decided

The New Devil

It was mildly horrifying and a little invigorating to listen to Gaon’s acceptance speech.

Standing in the rafters, looking down at the brightly lit hall where cameras flashed and reporters stood in rapt attention, Yohan watched Gaon’s movements like a hawk, taking in the familiar swagger that Yohan had mastered years ago. It was eerie how much Gaon emulated him, his movements, his mannerisms, his words. It was as if Yohan was watching a live show of himself but with Gaon’s face.

And it broke his heart.

Because this wasn't what he wanted. This wasn't what he’d left for.

Gaon was supposed to be better. Gaon had already been better. Yohan had muddied his reputation for this, but it hadn’t changed anything. Not the way Yohan had imagined it to change.

Handsome and suave with his movements, Gaon descended from the stage, having promised the people power. He’d been so good with it, so clear and concise. In a matter of months, Gaon had managed to perfect a stride that had taken Yohan twelve years to learn.

If he wasn’t so envious and disappointed, Yohan would have been able to admit how turned on he was, watching the confident set of Gaon’s shoulders and the delicate way with which he handled himself and his dance partners.

Maybe, in another life, Yohan could have been one of those partners. 

Maybe he could have celebrated such a big win for Gaon’s professional trajectory. 

Yohan was proud of him. But he was also scared for him. Shiny, fluttering butterflies like Gaon were beacons of trouble. Whatever safety he’d had when he had Yohan’s shadow to hide in was gone. He was out in the open, flaunting his success and power for admirers to see, for enemies to goad.

“He’s good at this,” Ko said, leaning on the railing and staring down at him.

“He’s not supposed to be good at this. He’s supposed to be honest,” Yohan hissed as he made his way to the stairs with Ko running to keep up. 

“You saw his plan. You know what he’s doing.”

“He’s doing the same thing I did.”

“Yeah, and you survived.”

“In case you didn’t know, Lawyer Ko,” Yohan said, “Lightning never strikes twice.”

“It’s a good thing the plan isn’t entirely like yours then, isn’t it?”

Yohan stopped moving and turned to his friend with a frown on his face. “Do you support it?”

Ko’s jaw hardened as he nodded. “I do.”

“You realize what he has to do to make it work.”

“I do,” Ko repeated.

“He’s going to kill someone. That will destroy him.”

“If you hadn’t noticed, Sir,” Ko said. “He was going to kill someone last year if you didn’t stop him.”

“Yes, exactly. I didn’t stop him then for him to turn around and commit mass murder.”

“You did it,” Ko said. “Why can’t he?’

Yohan punched Ko before he knew what he was doing. As Ko stumbled back, Yohan regretted it but he held his ground. 

“How fucking dare you?” he asked, feeling like everyone could hear them even though the guests were far away.

Ko leaned against the wall as he spat blood on the ground. From where they were Yohan could still hear the music, could still see Gaon moving on the dance floor, from one woman to another with a charming smile on his face.

A far cry from the man who’d nearly cried when a crowd of cougars cornered him.

“When are you going to stop pretending that that boy is some righteous angel, Sir?”

“Watch your tongue,” Yohan warned.

“K was right. Even before he touched you, you were already seduced beyond reason.”

“Shut the fuck up.”

“He came into your home with ulterior motives.”

“I’m warning you.”

“He bugged your office and put your niece in danger.”

“Lawyer Ko!” Yohan hissed as he grabbed him by the cuff and shoved him against the unpainted wall.

“He’s always been like this,” Ko said, looking Yohan right in the eye. “You’ve just been too enthralled by your brother’s face to see it.”

Yohan raised his hand to punch Ko, but Ko just closed his eyes, making no other move to defend himself. Not that he ever would. Ko wasn’t violent and even if he was, he would never stand against Yohan. Not for anything, certainly not for something so heavy as this.

Yohan shook his head, as he said, “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Gaon hadn’t been like this. He’d been so bad at subterfuge that Yohan clocked his game from the moment they met. 

At least, he’d thought he did. But what if he hadn’t? What if this was all part of the plan? What if every action had been… 

“Sunah hired him for a reason,” Ko said. “She’s clinging to him now for the very same reason.”

“All the more reason for us not to support a plan that she has a hand in.”

Shoving Ko away, Yohan continued down the stairs, unable to even look at his friend for another moment.

“Thinking like that will put him in danger, Sir,” Ko called after Yohan, making no move to follow him. “You’ll get in his way and ruin everything.”

The fuck he was. Yohan knew what he was doing. Gaon wasn’t some weak point anyone could use. Sunah had tried before and she’d failed. Yohan wasn’t some enthralled fool. He was seeing just as clearly as he’d always seen. And plan or not, he was going to make sure that Gaon didn’t make the same mistakes that he had.

XOXO debuted with the single “Darling” in June 2011. The group began promotions with their debut stage on May 27th at M! Countdown and continued promotions on various Korean music shows to June 20th.

The group returned a year later with the mini album “I Am Me” in June 2011. The album consists of four songs, including “I Don’t Need a Man” and “U-Go-Girl”, which XOXO promoted at the same time. “I Don’t Need a Man” gained XOXO quite a bit anti-fans, mainly men. They posted on Reddit about burning or cutting up pictures of XOXO’s faces and demanded apologies but there was no statement from Delphi Entertainment.

Though XOXO had gained some attention with their first comeback, it was not until their third comeback that the group rose to stardom. In March 2012, they came-back with their full album “Electric Love”. The album consists of nine songs, including “Mr. Chu”. The album peaked atop South Korea's Gaon Album Chart and has sold over 234,500 copies in South Korea. The album's title track peaked atop South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart and was the second best-selling digital single of 2011 in the country, selling over 3.3 million copies. XOXO received a total of five wins on music shows this era.

For their third mini album, Jiyeon did not participate in the stages as she had injured her knee but was in the music video. She constantly supported XOXO’s stages, posting constantly on Twitter and Instagram.

XOXO made their Japanese debut in 2014 with the Japanese versions of their already existing songs. At this time, Eunmi took a hiatus for the majority of the year for unknown reasons and was not seen until the end of the year music awards. The members did not mention her at all throughout activities, confusing fans who then made demands for XOXO and Delphi Entertainment to update them. Neither XOXO or Delphi Entertainment acknowledged these demands.

With the comeback of Eunmi and their second full length album, XOXO announced their first tour, XOXO 1st Asia Tour 2015. They had eight shows, 2 in South Korea, 2 in Japan, 2 in Thailand, 1 in Indonesia and 1 in Taiwan.

XOXO released the first episode of their reality show “Hugs and Kisses!” on November 2015 which comprised 10 episodes being released throughout the year following the four members as they traveled around Asia for their first tour, XOXO 1st Asia Tour 2015.

In January 2017, XOXO announced their North American tour and held four shows: New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. Tickets were sold out in three minutes.

In 2019, Delphi Entertainment announced the indefinite hiatus of group activities. All four members still remain under Delphi Entertainment. Aera is busy with her modeling contract, Jiyeon and Eunmi both actively promote as solo artists, and Yu goes by Yoojung now and is focused on her acting career.

•Walks with your hand in his jacket pocket. Most days your hand is encased with the warmth of his own hand. On extra cold days there’s the added warmth of a heat pack squished into his pocket as well. It becomes second nature to him. His hand just automatically takes yours and brings it into his pocket when you guys go out into the cold. You don’t even always notice it yourself, only realizing your hand is in his pocket when you need it to do something. 

•Doing up each other's coats. If you're not wearing a hoodie or sweater Gunil always makes sure to either zip or button up your jacket before leaving the house and you do the same to him. When you meet up with him and sees that your jacket is undone he’ll shake his head. Mumbling about how you could get sick as he does up your jacket. Although sometimes he’s no better and you say the same thing as you do up his jacket.

Jungsu

•Drinking hot chocolate. On those especially frigid days Jungsu loves nothing more than snuggling up with you while drinking hot chocolate. You guys either watch something together, listen to music, or just simply talk. It doesn’t matter to him as long as he gets to spend time with you. Basking in the warmth of one another and the hot chocolate, temporarily forgetting about the cold surrounding the outside world.

•Writing your initials on fogged up windows. The first time he did it the two of you were on the bus. He wrote his first initial with a plus sign followed by yours then drew a heart around it. He then eagerly tapped you on the shoulder to show you his artwork. You took out your phone, snapping a picture of it to save the memory. Ever since then it has become one of your guys' things. He would write his initial then one part of the plus sign. You would complete the plus sign then write your own initial and you both would draw half of the heart.

Gaon/Jiseok

•Playing in the snow. From building snowmen, making snow angels, to having snowball fights, the two of you did it all. His favorite was building a little snow family with you. Both of you would go to check on your snow family everyday after making them. Feeling sad when they melted away, or some prick destroyed them. He’d be lying if he said he didn't enjoy cuddling with you under a blanket after spending time playing in the snow, just as much.

•Getting matching sweaters. It didn’t matter if it was a holiday sweater or just a normal sweater he just wanted to match. Would take photos of you guys in your matching sweaters and pick one to put as his wallpaper. Coincidentally wearing them on the same day would make Jiseok so happy. Would talk about how you two were on the same wavelength that day. It would quickly become one of his favorite sweaters and he would never let anyone borrow it.

•Trying out seasonal drinks together. Made it a mission to find the best seasonal drink. The pair of you would go around to different cafes trying out the limited time drinks. Although both of you became leery of peppermint drinks after having one that tasted like toothpaste. Playing rock, paper, scissor to see would be the sacrificial lamb whenever you came across a peppermint flavored drink. A gingerbread hot chocolate ended up a hidden jem.

•Late night walks to admire the lights. Seungmin would keep one arm wrapped around you for warmth. The two of you would just stroll around the streets admiring how pretty the hung up lights made everything. Stopping to take a few photos together when you found a location to be extra beautiful. These late night walks turned out to be very therapeutic despite the cold nipping at your faces. Just enjoying each other's presence and appreciating the multi-colored lights, brightening up the dark.

Junhan/Hyeongjun

•Baking cookies together. Hyeongjun loved baking cookies with you. It was a time filled with laughter and joy. Always somehow managing to make some misshapen cookies or accidentally decapitate poor gingerbread men. You guys worked your way through a list of different types of cookies, to see which ones you liked the best. Sharing the cookies with others was nice too. It seemed like there were always cookies lying around somewhere filling your place with a delicious scent.

•Having movie nights. Watching movies with a nice warm drink and snacks was a great indoor, out of the cold activity that both you and Hyeongjun enjoyed. The cozy atmosphere created with the blankets draped over you guys and a scented candle burning. Watching Christmas movies to help build the spirit was fun, but you didn’t only watch them. Movies of all genres worked just as well. Occasionally the movie would only be background noise to your conversations or filling the silence as you both snoozed away on the couch.

•Unexpected snowball fights. It was a game the two of you played. Seeing if you could catch the other off guard and what better way to do that than throwing a handful of snow at them? It always leads to an impromptu snowball fight since you can’t let them get away with it. Maybe it was a bit childish, but neither of you cared. It always elated you both. The fight would end with whipping the snow from each other’s clothes and warm hugs. Then going back on your merry way.

•Sledding. The pair of you deemed it one of the best winter activities. Complaining about the hike up the steep hill was inevitable, but the ride down made it well worth it. The two of you would race each other down the hill and as punishment the loser would have to carry the sled back up the hill. As fun as it was, it was also a very tiring activity. After arriving home and changing your clothes you guys would just slumped down onto the couch and take a nap together.

So, I'm extremely obsessed with listening to music while reading anything and with WHTD is no exception. There is no doubt that "Older (isabel LaRosa)" will be added to my playlist after chapter 37, gaon would definitely relate.

Hi there! I'm honestly impressed by (and a bit envious of) people who can listen to music while they read or write x'D If I do, I start focusing on the music instead, especially if there are lyrics. And this is partly why I kind of suck at finding character or fic related music.

That said, I do have an entire playlist for Who Holds the Devil on Spotify so, uh, you can have a look at that, I guess? xD

But if you want specific recs from that playlist that have been on my mind lately, I would go with:

A Dangerous Thing - AURORA

Entirely because of chapter 38, tbh. And while that might seem like a song about Yo Han, it's really not. At least not once you've read chapter 38.

The dangerous thing is very much Ga On, not Yo Han.

This is more a general song about their relationship, I guess? Not so much tied to Who Holds the Devil anymore since, well, Ga On knows full well he can change Yo Han at this point xD

I think this one should be self-explanatory. Also very much at the forefront of my mind after writing chapter 38.

Though I will admit that there are some songs I didn't put on there because they didn't fit the mood. Like, if I had been less serious about that playlist I would definitely have added El Diablo by Elena Tsagrinou just for the laughs. Like, purely for the HILARITY of the chorus:

But, alas, the rest of the lyrics don't really fit and the song is a little too much party. Still, the thought of it makes me cackle.

Like, if Yo Han is shameless enough to call himself the Abyss, I bet he could call Ga On his angel too. And pretend it's sort of a joke. But also mean it with every fibre of his being.
