Hi I can’t post this anywhere else publicly yet, but I’m going to scream about it here

I’m playing Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music!!!

I’ve been wanting to audition for this show for MONTHS, ever since I found out about this particular production in July of last year. It was initially supposed to audition in February and play in May, but the company pushed it back to allow their (at the time) current production to be able to play in the May dates when there was the omicron spike that postponed the other show’s opening. Since they wouldn’t audition this until the summer, I was able to play Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood in June in the meantime.

And now it’s time I finally get to play Anne Egerman!!! I used to be terrified to dance in front of others, but now I’m so excited to waltz and to sing some of Sondheim’s most beautiful music.

Our first rehearsal is Saturday, but they’ve asked me to not come until Sunday’s rehearsal given that a certain virus has been paying me a visit the last few days (luckily next to no symptoms, and I’ve been symptom free for a few days now). I’ve already found a copy of the script and vocal book online, and I plan to come in as memorized as possible so I can just get the character and blocking and choreography into my head without a book in the way.

I’m sure I’ll post more here once rehearsals begin in earnest! Soon!

I think you're a soprano, correct? In which case I'd cast you as either Christine Daaé from Phantom or Anne Egerman from A Little Night Music bc from a distance they seem like typical ingenues/nice young ladies but there's definitely something wrong them (compliment)

A Little Night Music Movie Fancast

If we ever get a remake of the movie (esp since the movie was...not good).

Frederik Egerman--Jake Gyllenhaal, has been on Broadway, good voice, name draw. He's just a scooch young for the role at 41 though. He and his first wife would've had Henrik at like 20. Not unbelievable, but idk.

Desiree Armfeldt--Lady Gaga, I was sitting here and it hit me. DUH. A strong actress who can sing the role and has the appropriate amount of glamour while also being an appropriate age to play opposite Gyllenhaal. She'd be perfect.

Anne Egerman--Shereen Pimentel. My opinions on that WSS B-way revival are a little complicated, but Shereen was a great casting choice and her voice is golden. Obviously, she can play an ingenue well. Alternatively, Denee Benton would also be an inspired choice.

Henrik Egerman--Derek Klena. He's a still kind of a baby face and I think his voice is just beautiful.

Petra--Ariana Debose. She's way too big of a star for this role now, probably, but she'd KILL "The Miller's Son". It would be so good. Also, ever since Hamilton and Bring it On, she's shown she can do so much with a little bit. She may steal the movie entirely as Petra.

Frederika Armfeldt-- This is the only one I don't know. I'm not up on the child actors, but if you can suggest one who's like between 15 and 18 (could play 14), let me know!

Madame Armfedlt--Julie Andrews, if only. God, I'd love to see her do a musical again and since Madame Armfeldt only has like 1 song, I think she'd be able to do it. I hope she'd be able to do it.

Countess Charlotte Malcom--Daisy Ridley. I originally had her as Petra, but I think she'd fit a bit better here. I was so pleasantly surprised the first time I heard her sing (on Barbra Streisand's Encore album).

Count Carl-Magnus Malcom--Norm Lewis. Tbh, I just want to hear him sing this role (Chris Pine would also be fun here, but c'mon guys, it's NORM LEWIS)
