Quiet

So...it's been a while. A while since I posted, and a long, long while since I started this blog. I started in 2018. Six years is a long time. A lot has changed since I first posted here. I've made a lot of friends thanks to this blog. I feel like I've grown as a person and as a writer.

Unfortunately, the Undertale hyperfixation is finally fading for me. Don't get me wrong--I still love these characters and the world of the game (and the world I created on my blog). It's just not all I think about anymore. I'm content to leave it to sit in the background. It's the best of all timelines, so I know the characters are happy. I don't feel the need to tell their stories anymore.

Technically this doesn't change anything. I'm still here. Message me. I'm not going anywhere. I just won't be posting much here anymore.

Haha, rest assured that I have misspelled my own screen name multiple times. Basements are a really good way to add some extra space, but for me they're kind of a pain to add unless I plan on one from the start. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, bachelor challenge?! omg yes, can't wait to read that.

And oh god, I have absolutely no idea when I started Middleground. I was definitely still a teenager, so it's been around in one form or another minimum six years. I've only been playing it steadily the last two or three years, tho. Reeeeally not sure I want to actually know how long I've been playing that thing!

(final also: now I really wanna go build a lot with a proper basement!)

Well congrats on sticking with one ‘hood for so long anyway. ;) Basements are handy for stashing extra junk. I used to get frustrated playing them because it was hard to see down there, but now thanks to camera mods we can zoom in closer than ever. I like having the option for extra space, especially because I struggle to make houses over two storeys look good.

I have been on meds that mimic pregnancy on and off for two-thirds of my life. They didn't really affect my weight until I went back on them after being off for a bit and having my first for real kid. Now I have four kids, relatives who try to sell me weight-loss products when they're in town (PASS) and no fucks left to give about what shape I am.

Ugh, your relatives sound frustrating. My fairly sudden weight gain (the last couple of years) has been med-related, too. And having had two children, the weight seems to collect mostly in that area. I get this a few times recently. I'll be out with my youngest and I get something like "wow! Having another one already! You must love babies!" - nope, I just really love pasta.

I think it’s fairly common for this to happen postpartum, which is not good because of the hormones present during that time. It can be incredible awkward when kids do this, because they don’t know yet to realize they’ve been rude. It’s something that should be taught to kids, I think, not to comment on people’s appearance. I am pregnant-shaped too. As in, I'm overweight with most of my weight on my belly, so I really do look as if I'm going to have a baby. Does not give people the right to comment on it :(

Even if it's super obvious that someone's pregnant, it's rude to bring it up before they do. Pregnant people get treated like public property all too often. And if you're not sure, that's even worse—you're potentially going to make someone with tummy chub feel bad. ��

Yeah, “Nope, just fat”! haha. I’ve tend to say simply “No, I’m not” or “No, I’ve just gained some weight.” Pretty straightforward. I made that mistake a couple of years ago with a friend of mine. I hadn't seen her in ages and the first thing I did was ask if she was pregnant. The look on her face was priceless. I immediately apologized. Oops.

I get it a lot from the kids at the school where I work. It's fine if they're five, but when their parents join in I have to be all like 'actually no' - it's just awkward for everyone

If I was the parent in that situation, I’d explain to my child not to say that because it’s not nice to assume. And we all know what they say about when you assume, right?

Aww! I feel so bad for Nina that she even thought she had to ask about that. That should be a given, getting to see your nephew. I'm glad Cassie is willing to let them have a relationship. I do wonder how Bella and Mortimer will react to that, but considering how they acted about changing a diaper, I don't think they get any say in this.

I feel Nina as a loving aunt isn’t something you see to often, but really, her feelings are perfectly natural. You don’t have to be a family sim to want to have relationships with your own family. And yeah, when it comes to Asher, I think Cassie’s word is law. Looking forward to writing a future Mortimer/Nina scene though. I bet she’d have a lot to say to him...
