So at first I didn't know what to talk about and then three things came to mind and I didn't know which one to pick so I let digital chance decide.

Harald's voice (being Psyker Loner) goes all over the place, we know that. Either he is screeching so high he's producing ultrasound and breaking glass or he's using his suave normal deep voice which shocks everyone almost more than his screeches. All in inconsistent intervalls.

And despite that, or maybe because of that, he's actually a good singer. Not the best of the entire squad of Hab Unit CR1-PT1D5, that goes to someone else of my characters but he's pretty good. His dancing is also solid. Again, also not the best, that once again goes to another another one of my characters (why my Squad so talented lmao) but still good. Where he excels tho is playing the piano. Due to his upbringing of seeking shelter in many different places and with many different people during his turbulent youth he ended up working in in basically a pub for some time. Before they found out that he's a Psyker he got taken care of pretty well. For him it was a happier time of his very harsh life, though short-lived.

The owner took him in like a son and taught him how to play and entertain the crowds with song and music. It's nothing Harald brags about or brings up much. It takes a lot to get him to open up about more emotional parts of his life already so singing and playing is too precious to just show off to simpeltons.

But he very much enjoys playing, since it's some of the very few things that can calm his mind and drown out all the voices and visions that constantly flood into his brain.

art process PLEASE i love your art sm i need to steal your style asl;jfdl;asjdf

thank you! finding an art style you're happy with just takes time and intuition, but i can still show you how i go about mine - using this fancy goldfish as our guide :)

step 1: sketch your drawing and don't feel the need to be as neat as I was here. step 2: clean up your sketch, or line it. i usually choose the former, but it mostly depends how much of a mess the sketch is and which option i know is going to take more effort. (i also prefer to do this because i think it gives my art more fluidity and emotion! line work is tough for me that way!)

step 3: lay in your flat colors. step 4: shading/rendering of those colors; usually pretty minimal for me. step 5: further rendering, but this time on top of your line work. i get really lost in these steps, playing around with different hues and values until i feel the drawing come to life. again, it just takes intuition. (i'm a self taught artist so i literally can't tell you how i learned any of this shit, it just happened, i'm just as confused as you are)

also, note: i merge my layers as i work. some people think that's chaotic but for me it keeps things simple. that brings us into the next part, which is

step 6: create an overlay layer and clip it to your drawing, because it's magical and it makes all of your colors more vibrant and cohesive‼ 👍😼 (i don't always do a gradient like this, but the drawing was pretty monochromatic so i thought it looked nice)

step 7: miscellaneous final touches like highlights, and then most importantly, add texture. for me, since i use paint tool sai, this is "paper" under "texture" in the paints effect window in the top right corner. can't tell ya how it's done elsewhere. sometimes i take a random image of colored static off of google and create an overlay of that, for texture, too.

🏭 Given his obsession in becoming a kinda factory kingpin (slash a factory himself)- on his body he has all kinds of tattoos to emulate graffiti on a building.

🏭 Cause he's clogged up his systems and ventilation with all kinds of smog and coal and icky gross stuff- he has a sort of pseudo furnace in his chest. It wasn't built like that, but he can't ventilate properly (especially given he built more onto himself)- so his chest overheats

🏭 He owns roughly 30% of all industry in the city and he wants a Lot more.

🏭Though he has all his men to do the work for him, he's pretty capable in a fight. Hes not as good a gunman as Franky, but his preferred weapon is a pistol cause he considers them 'sweet'. He's more capable physically though. He's HUGE, strong and made of brick- his punches are devastating.

Hmm...that's hard to decide, cuz it depends on how specific of a scenario we're talking. If it's very general, captivity is my favorite. More specifically, I prefer lab whump scenarios or ones where the whumpee is being hurt for the sake of it. If it had to be, like, a scene, I would say intimate female whumper vivisecting a defiant guy who's strapped to a table and struggling cuz,,,,,yeah,,,,,

Least favorite is probably any scenario where the whumpee is conditioned to like whatever's going on or like wants to please the whumper or something cuz i want the whumpee to be very visibly not having a good time it takes the enjoyment out of it for me if they're into it somehow

but i thought u mightve heard moac already because of how much it was used for edits so my actual suggestion re: what to listen to first is ‘cirice’. idk what is in this one (the bass) but i truly love it!!

then i thought i might use this time to actually suggest ‘year zero’ so that it could act as an exposure therapy to what the whole bit that the band ghost got goin on. theyre a theatrical rock band with an emphasis on satirical approach to organized religion. theyre not subtle about it at all (thus why they have ‘papacy’, ‘clergy’, ‘ghouls’, etc.)

but i got so excited to share some of what i think would appeal to first time listeners so i made a playlist! these are just some of their songs! lmk what u think (if ur comfy)

What's your favorite part of tma?

Oh boy I can't answer this question succinctly!!

Hmmm I think my favorite thing about it is the ambiguity!! I like how so much of the story takes place in little snippets of conversation, or that you have to infer a lot of meaning from little throw away lines. And I think it's cool that there's an entire cast of characters that exist in the background of the statements. It's just a very big world and I think that's why it's easy to stay invested in it for so long after the show has ended.
