realized that both the beginning and the end of the happy paris stage of Loumand's relationship has this same contrasting orange to blue/green color scheme. and like. the visual metaphor of Armand literally leaving his cold, lifeless world behind him and choosing the bright, golden warmth of life with Louis instead of killing him like he was supposed to in that tunnel. but as soon as he chooses the coven over Louis, he separates from the warmth like oil in water that was never supposed to be there. and now he's back out in the cold. I'm normal about this, btw.

#also vetinari emotes a lot more than I remember. I think over time my brain slotted him into that vague category #a lot of villains (or at least...characters wearing black) get slotted into; the chilly removed chessmaster #who only shows emotion when there's a reason to.#when actually he was wildly frustrated in reaper man; he smiles in men at arms (multiple times!)#also I love the line ''The Patrician looked at Carrot. He seemed to be shuffling futures in his head.''#(also uh. um. no one is going to like this but I could see carrot/vetinari. I just think it would be neat.#AND then you could have some fun parallels with vimes and angua given that they're both dogs on a leash. so to speak.#anyway the charismatic king-that-wasn't and the dictator determined to usurp the gods is worth thinking about some more.)#discworld

The “I'm scared to let it go (it must be let go)” duo.#Loop and Mithrun are [REDACTED] [GO CHECK OUT THESE SERIES SPOILER FREE]#God I have so much to say about the Loop and Mithrun parallels. I won't here because I refuse to spoil people on ISAT.#What I *will* say is that both these characters had a similar curve in my interest in them.#Which is “I was ambivalent until the near end - where they then shot up to become some of my favourite characters ever.”#We love characters with an incredible arc that reframes them so intensely that you the reader will never be the same after.#Anyways! (rotates both these crossovers in my head at a rapid orbit and gazes at them fondly).#This is my sandbox and I get to eat the sand!!!#I've got some MDZS/ISAT swap content coming soon as well. i think that post-dragon stuff marcille would finally process that oh maybe shes in Love With Falin and (after going thru stages of denial and 'NO I DONT WANT TO RUIN OUR FRIENDSHIP' etc etc) would eventually work up the courage to Begin Courting Falin in traditional romantic ways (just like in her elven romance novels) buying her gifts and taking her out on not-technically-dates and trying to be subtle but laying the groundwork for when she finally asks falin out on a date like a year and a half after the whole dragon thing and shes really nervous and scared but falins just like....arent we already dating
