this post just has me thinking. frigging thinking yo || jon snow x gn!reader

about how jon doesn’t like his scars. none of them that he carries are granted any sort of gift of his approval; the ones on his torso are no exception. some think them a sign of strength, of perseverance — to jon, however, the torn flesh is something to which he bears no love for.

but he harbors a special dislike for those on his face. the memory of a light scar on his brow, given to him by robb during training in their youth, is now largely overshadowed by a petulant abhor of a time when wildling apparel clothed his body. kissed by fire.

the words ring true enough, producing the same effect each time they reverberate throughout his (never silent) skull. a pause in his ministrations — a distant look in his eyes.

sometimes he must wait for it to pass. others, he merely falters in his movements, and claws his way back to normalcy with a slight lag & brows that become pinched in their determination.

the scars always make him remember. whether it be the healing skin itching, or an unfortunate glance in the mirror, he always remembers. always falters.

but sometimes you’re there, and it feels oh, so much more bearable when you are. you and your sovereign hands.

your touch is soft when you cradle him, broken and repaired skin and jaded heart and all. in that very moment, it feels as though somehow you could make him as soft, too.

jons hate for the memories etched onto his skin fade with each pass of your fingertips across the jagged areas — for they must be good, if worthy enough to receive your attention. your lips are warm as they capture his temple; a place both marked by fury & somehow, also the most comforting when adored. a kiss is the briefest of moments, but oh, gods, how visceral his reaction is.

flutters of his lashes as they’re accompanied by closing eyelids; he’d not be able to open them if asked directly by the maiden herself. he’s always been stubborn, and his body seems to live by such a code with each decision it makes without him — retinas refusing to supply him with visual information when you’re touching him — no. his own vessel demands uninterrupted focus when cradled by your loving palms. it’s innate, the way he chooses to receive you.

the feeling of your lips as they kiss his hair; he’d live in this moment forever if given the option. he tries, oh, how he tries. he offers himself to you and slows his breathing to a snails pace, as if that’ll make time pass at the same speed.

regarding dr ratio's team join voiceline with aventurine

idk where it originated from but i've been seeing this notion that the ENG voiceline is horribly mistranslated and ratio is much more caring and friendly in the original CN. THIS IS LITERALLY NOT TRUE HE IS JUST AS BITCHY IN BOTH LANGUAGES

as a native chinese speaker i actually really love hsr's localisation and i would like to clarify the misconception + explain the cultural nuance/context behind this particular voiceline

i think this tweet might've been the original source for this misconception? op's translation of the CN line is very literal and completely lacking in cultural nuance. while the sentence 管好你自己 does literally translate to "take care of yourself", it lacks the automatic positive connotation that this sentence has in ENG. CN is a high context language -- aka the meaning of a sentence can be totally different based on context clues like tone, body language, etc.

ratio's tone in this line is not the tone of someone who is concerned for a friend. it's standoffish. when said in this kind of tone, the meaning of 管好你自己 is closer to "mind your own business", making the ENG "keep to yourself" a more accurate localisation.

in addition, the word 管 has connotations of controlling/managing something -- directly translating this to "take care of yourself" means it's missing a lot of important nuance.

granted, the second half of the line is a bit unnecessarily aggressive in ENG. the CN is more like "I have no need for your concern", and explicitly saying that he believes aven's concern to be "false" in ENG is definitely a lot ruder than the original line.

However. in my opinion it's not Too far off base. the way he emphasises the second half of that voiceline in CN carries an implication that he actually disdains aven's concern; we can extrapolate from context clues that he feels this way because aven's concern is just an act. tldr; eng line explicitly saying "false display" does make it ruder than CN but it didn't just come from nowhere -- the implication is already there in CN

this is not to say that ratio doesn't care about aven or see him as a friend. imo the reason ratio is so standoffish in this line is because any display of concern from aven here has the clear intention of teasing ratio. they both know ratio can take care of himself perfectly well. this is just how their dynamic works -- aven makes silly playful comments and ratio deflects them by acting cold.

in conclusion: ENG voiceline is not a mistranslation. hsr localisation is definitely not perfect but in this particular case i feel they've done a fairly good job of conveying the original meaning. thank you for coming to my ted talk

Anyway. The misunderstanding in MML was because Perry ends up being Time Industries' (Heinz future business endeavor as the Founder of Time Travelling) first and largest shareholder. He cashes in every penny made in overtime for Heinz to build his company back up.

Dan Povenmire stitched this chibi shorts episode as one SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR A "Specific subset of the Phineas and Ferb fandom" spoiler alert: apparently Perry's less upset about Heinz going around kissing people when it's Perry he's kissing.

This is a very, VERY limited list, including moments of Perry being Fucking Whipped. I have carefully redacted moments of:

And in fact i am sure i have missed a lot more out of canon content. Perry being codependent, possessive, protective and jealous is common knowledge at this point. I've made a post before where Perry the Second Dimension proves that Perry has control Issues and an insecurity of being easily replaced by his loved ones, excaberted by Francis' frequent threats of relocating him at the drop of a hat.

Tldr: Perry suffers from down bad-ism and if you look at Heinz too long he is liable to commit violence ♥️♥️♥️

Whatever song is playing right now, Simon couldn’t possibly muster the brain capacity to recognize it. He’s gone, nothing else matters, he’s 50% butterflies and 50% wobbly knees. Simon doesn’t know how they ended up like this. He doesn’t know how he ended up with Wille crowding him against the wall in the most closed off corner of Felice’s living room they could find. How he ended up with his fingers threaded through Wille’s hair, with his lips moving against Wille’s. But, god, Wille’s kissing him. Wille’s lips are so soft, feel even softer than they look, and whatever Simon has spent the past months imagining doesn’t even compare to the real thing, to having Wille close like this. Closer than they’ve ever been before.

When Simon feels Wille’s tongue gentle nudging against his bottom lip, his breath hitches. No day-dreaming about his best friend could’ve prepared him for the feeling of them deepening their kiss. It’s- everything about it is so very Wille, that Simon feels like his heart is going to burst out of his chest. He’s gentle, he’s soft, but there’s an underlying urgency there, there’s Wille leaning into Simon, Wille cradling the side of Simon’s neck. Wille is kissing him like Wille does all things, with care and attention to detail, but with a determination that Simon has always found unfairly attractive. When Wille pulls away, Simon wants to whine. Thankfully, he seems to muster a last shred of self-respect, keeps his eyes shut firmly to stay in the moment for longer and oh, oh. Wille isn’t leaving. He nuzzles his nose against Simon’s, his breath tickles Simon’s lip and. Well. How is Simon supposed to resist. He tugs Wille closer, blindly finds his lips again, feels his pulse hammering loudly in his ears when he gets another taste of Wille. Just… Wille. And some mint from his chewing gum, and- sweet and fruity like the shots Maddie was handing out earlier. A knot of dread lodges itself between Simon’s ribs. This isn’t- this isn’t how any of this was supposed to go. Fuck. Right. He’s an idiot. He’s an idiot who got impatient and who might’ve just blown his one chance at doing this the right way. He’s fighting his every instinct when he pulls back, immediately misses Wille’s mouth on his. “This was a bad idea." His voice wavers, shaky, unsure. God, he can’t even convince himself. Wille’s hand on his neck stills, and Simon immediately thinks he’s made a mistake.

And because he’s an idiot, because he can’t help himself, because it’s been too long and because now he might never have the real thing, he lurches forward again. Desperate and needy and acting like he’s gonna find the air that’s suddenly gone from his lungs on Wille’s lips. But this time it’s Wille who stops him, who gently pushes Simon away after a brief touch of their lips. Just far enough for Wille to rest his forehead against Simon’s. "Then why are you still kissing me?" Wille sounds more sober than he’s done all evening, sounds… Simon can’t place the tone, and he suddenly feels like he’s going to cry.  He’s kissed his best friend. His drunk best friend. His drunk best friend who does this. Casually, from time to time. Who he’s seen kissing Maddie and Felice and Nils and who always ends up a giggly, beautiful mess afterwards, only to never kiss them again. Only to go back to being their friend. And now Simon is going to be another friend he’s kissed while drunk at a party and will never kiss again. It takes everything inside of him not to let out a pathetic little noise of frustration. “You’re drunk,” he forces out instead, saying nothing at all. He shakes his head.  “We’re drunk,” he corrects himself and suddenly curses every decision that’s lead him here and curses his earlier self for ever thinking those shots would be a good idea. Maybe without them, he wouldn’t have- All thoughts desert Simon’s brain at once when Wille lifts a hand up to his cheek. Every fingertip is warm and comforting, and yet Simon feels like he’s breaking apart under the touch. But Wille is still close, so close, his breath is everything Simon hears, his cologne everything he smells, and a silly, silly part of him is still clinging to the illusion. “Did you not want to kiss me?”

Something about the way he asks it, nothing but earnestness, is so very Wille that it cracks Simon’s chest right open. He doesn’t think he could lie to Wille, ever, but especially not now. So he nods, accidentally brushing the tip of his nose against Wille’s. “I did,” he breathes. But, because that’s not quite right, he tries again, with his heart beating so fast he thinks he might have to sit down.  “I do. Do wanna kiss you.” For a beat, there’s nothing. Just Simon, suspended in a vacuum, one second from falling to his death. But then he’s back, Wille is back, is somehow closer, is pressing small kisses against Simon’s lips, his nose, his cheek, and Simon can breathe again, sucks in the air that smells like Wille. “Then kiss me again,” Wille says, lips somewhere near Simon’s ear, then on his cheek. “Please.” Simon thinks he can taste the single syllable on his tongue when he pulls Wille in again.

what would see inside phillipe be like?

Ohoho you're in for a treat. First off, some concepts:

Phillippe -> Pippy

To contrast with him appearing as a bug often seen as cute; I wanted to instead make him appear as a bug that isn't seen in the same good light

Stuck between a scorpion, fly, and roach (not pictured here)

Scorpion has deeper meaning but also I imagined a Fly if I wanted to keep closer to Phillippe's original appearance

Scorpion would have a little cork on the end of the stinger

I might do a poll to see which idea you guys like better

Now onto the actual story beats with him:

His whole thing with using the bug disguise to trick the party into being consumed by Spore Mother is still there

But instead, he actually feels horrible amounts of shame for it; this is the only purpose of his existence, to deceive and feed Spore Mother more victims

This is his inner turmoil while leading evil Sam/Bram and the party to Spore Mother and it's where it finally reaches a boiling point

I'd imagine in game dialogue would point out that Pippy is seeming very antsy which only gets worse when they're closer to their destination

At the last second, Pippy reveals the truth that he's a spore mimic and instantly drops what's going on

He cries that he doesn't want to hurt people

He doesn't want to feed Spore Mother anymore

He doesn't want to be a mushroom mimic

He wants to be Pippy

In the fight against Spore Mother, Pippy fights with evil Sam/Bram and the others. Unfortunately, Pippy sacrifices himself for the survival of the others.

Though thankfully, in a shocking moment, evil Sam/Bram feels a wave of remorse wash over him - though doesn't show it outwardly to the others in that moment- and takes his remains. He'll remember him, not as a mushroom, not as a monster, not even as something who was trying to lead them to their deaths; but as Pippy.
