So here's the updated story about the Dark Three's mortal adventuring days and eventual promotion to the Dead Three - including Jergal being a sneaky bitch who owes Charname and the Dark Urge free painkillers, Bane and Bhaal being "friends", the idiots unleashing horrors upon the world long before they became gods, and we also get Bhaal's other backstory.

In this version Bhaal's full name is Arabhal (no surname), he was born in the Netherese flying city of Rdiuz and became the spymaster and chief assassin for the local government

Said government is led by people who think they're the equals of the gods. Obviously a key step to that "challenging the gods" thing was graverobbing and stealing god corpses in the Astral Plane and they eventually planned to start invading the realms of living gods.

This led to an invasion by people from another world and the pissed off guardian god of the divine graveyard.

Said people also damaged an ancient binding that was keeping an ancient god of horror and his army of monsters and slaves from being unleashed upon the world again. "The Bane of the Ancients" was part of that slave army, which means they also unleashed Bane, which is even worse. Rdiuz' response to this was to try and recruit the army of horror, which says a lot about them.

The Crown-Sorcerers created magic daggers that could kill gods out of the corpse of a god that they stole. (Then Jergal stole all seven and turned the people who made them into ghouls, driven feral by unquenchable hunger) They still didn't stop trying to find ways to best the gods and actually ended up in a fight with the Netherese pantheon and the army already invading.

Anyway, Bhaal and Bane both ended up working together as scouts/killers against the invading army. Apparently they got along - insofar as these two can get along with anybody - because they respected each other's skill at murder and both recognised the other as a ruthless bloodthirsty bastard. They were so efficient that Jergal noticed them and decided that they'd make brilliant servants if he ever needed them. He noticed Bane first, which I'm sure did wonders for Mr Lord of Darkness' ego.

Jergal started plaguing the two with horrible nightmare visions, torturing them until they bent to his will and followed the directions to collect those god-killing knives mentioned earlier. He also revealed to them the locations of three Primordials (ancient gods from the dawn of time that the modern gods went to war with). He had a whole thing going on where he was trying to make six mortal pawns into human gods who would be extensions of him, so he needed some Primordials dead and planned to use these two.

While they were invading a lich's tower they also met a crown-prince who decided that his kingdom wasn't powerful enough and ran away to find better opportunities for power. (Hello, Myrkul, you asshole). The three of them beat the shit out of the lich, ransack his place and raze the tower to the ground.

There's a whole load of quests involving horrific nightmare visions, murders, god-slayings, and building up such a reputation that people start calling them the Dark Three.

When they went after Bane's old master, Maram, they gathered an army to do it. This included Gnolls, so I guess Durge gets that particular affinity from Dad. The battle that ensued was horrific and left all survivors with severe trauma.

The three did not succeed in killing Maram, but they did manage to absorb some of his power, promoting them to quasi-deity status, and Myrkul banished him to the Elemental Plane of Earth while Bane fixed the seal.

All primordials dealt with, Jergal assumed he didn't need them anymore, discarded them and stoped torturing them.

This leaves them to their own devices, which goes fantastically for everyone!

Current plan: undo the seal they just fixed and release more Primordials so that they can subjugate/kill them and steal their divinity while hunting down lore to help them harness it.

And they succeed! After unleashing an horrific six years of darkness, chaos and war upon the world, of course. They managed to ruin the entire Eastern coast of the Moonsea. The lore they uncover leads them to portals, and after a decade of study they work out how to use it. And in this context, "they" means Myrkul, who is the brains of this party.

Eventually they used the network to reach Jergal, fighting off entire, endless legions of the dead by themselves to reach his throne, where Jergal appears to be slumped in his chair, too depressed to care. Before anyone could attack, Jergal got off and asked which one of the three would like it?

And obviously the three started fighting about it, which Jergal watched until he got bored of it and suggested a game that involved bowling with human skulls.

That game got derailed when Malar, god of the hunt, dropped by and ruined it. They let him run off and chase the skulls and then Jergal just split his porfolio in three and had them draw straws for them while Malar wasn't paying attention.

"Bane won the game and chose to rule the living as a tyrant, beginning with the seven primordials [which may include his old master, Maram]. "Myrkul came in second and chose to command both Jergal and the dead, with the exception of the lich Urgund Mezeketh [the guy they beat the shit out of and whose tower they burned down earlier in the story], who was bound to serve Bane as his seneschal and first banelich. "And Bhaal, while coming in third of the Dark Three, balanced the other two on a knife's edge, claiming the instance of death and the transition between their two domains. "And so it was that Jergal, Lord of the End of Everything, surrendered much of his divinity to the Dark Three. But this simply marked the start of his new plan, set to unfold over the next 3,600 years."

Spiderman And Rescue

Peter smacks against the side of the tower and groans from the excruciating pain in his side before reaching up and starting his slow trek up toward the family floor. It was a long way up and he wasn't even sure if he would make it, he barely managed to swing back to the tower after all. Normally in a situation when he was as wounded as he was, he would ask Karen to call one of his parents and wait for them to come help, but after being impaled and knocked around, his suit went offline. Which meant Karen was offline. Peter knew he couldn't sit still and hope that help would come, he already lost too much blood. So he applied a compression web and swung home. It hurt like hell and he almost passed out from the shots of pain that coursed through his body, but he managed. Now he just needed to finish climbing the tower.

Easier said then done. Not only was his blood making it hard to keep a grip on the glass, but the sky decided that it was the opportune moment to take a royal piss. The small silver lining the rain provided was that it would wash away the blood trail that Peter was leaving behind. He climbed little by little, his vision slowly filling with black spots as he made his way to the balcony, but as he reached up to finally grab the railing, his body gave out on him. As the rest of his vision darkened, he felt himself fall away from the tower and free fall toward the ground. The last thing he saw before falling unconscious was a blue and silver suit diving for him.

Harley barely caught Peter in time. He was further down the tower when he caught a glimpse of his brother climbing the side of the tower through the windows, and he raced upstairs to the floor with the balcony when he caught sight of red. Of blood. He made it to the railing just as Peter did and reached down for the younger's questing hand, but then Peter fell back before Harley could grab his hand.

"PETER!" He screams through the downpour.

His next reaction was to dive over the railing after he activated his nanotech bracelet, the Rescue suit covering his body. The moment he caught Peter, he flew back up to the balcony as quickly but carefully as possible. Peter's blood was already spreading across his armor, the rain washing it away as quickly as it appears.

"SARA! FRIDAY! Somebody, I don't care! Get Mom and Bruce up here! It's really fucking bad!"

He drags Peter inside and out of the rain, and when he reaches over to disengage Peter's Spiderman suit, Harley's AI stops him.

"Don't! It's his only chance of surviving at this point!" She says just as a gateway fizzles next to them and Stephen steps through with Bruce.

Harley was pretty sure he would have been shoved aside if he didn't back away by himself with the way Stephen and Bruce knelt next to his dying brother. Bruce checked his pulse and then Stephen used his magic to carry Peter through the gateway that led back to the med-bay. It closed directly behind the two doctors before Harley could follow, so the teen had to race down on the elevator and arrive just in time to watch them place Peter in the Cradle.

It was worse than Harley thought and he already knew it was bad. The Cradle was only used strictly for regeneration purposes. Peter had his healing factor, but his injury must have been bad enough to need extra help. Harley watches as Stephen raises the palm of his hand to his forehead as Bruce says something he can't hear, and the sorcerer responds with a single sob. It was enough to have Harley leave the med-bay and take the elevator down to the lab.

"SARA, bring up the video feed of Peter's last fight." He demands and a video starts playing on one of the screens. He watches from Peter's point of view as he jumps around some guy in a large rhino looking suit until the Rhino chucks something at him. Peter was obviously stunned long enough for the Rhino to charge at him and impale his horn into his side and then the screen blacks out. "Where's the rest of it?"

"That attack shut down Spiderman's suit. Karen is still offline."

"Upload any data on that guy to my suit. I'm going after this asshole."

"You will do no such thing." Stephen says from the door and Harley whips around to stare at him incredulously.

"WHAT?! I won't just sit around-"

"Harley, please!" The sorcerer snaps. "I already have one child in intensive care...please don't make yourself a second." He says quietly.

Stephen walks over to the couch and sits on it heavily as he leans forward to place his head in trembling hands. They were shaking more so than usual and that only meant that the sorcerer was scared. Harley clenches his fists in frustration and inhales deeply before releasing both his breath and his hands.

"Will Peter be okay?"

"...we don't know." Stephen admits quietly.

"Is anyone going to do something about the guy that did this?"

"Show me the video."

Stephen stands up and joins Harley at the screens as the teen asks SARA to replay the recording, and cringes the moment Peter gets impaled. When the screen blacks out again, the sorcerer sighs and rubs his eyes. It was then that he declared that he would send Steve, Bucky, and Quill out to track down the Rhino to take care of. Harley didn't care who as long as the job was done.

And boy was it done. Quill could have easily taken care of Rhino himself, but Steve and Bucky were there to try and keep him from going berserk. After Rhino was taken care of, the Avengers took shifts sitting in the med-bay with Peter. Tony shut himself in the lab when he wasn't with Peter to repair his suit and Stephen had to be forced out of the med bay on multiple occasions and be told to rest. Harley was between helping Tony, sitting with Peter as he recovered in the Cradle, and keeping Diana busy when Cassie spent some time of her own in the med-bay. Diana wanted to visit as well, but Stephen didn't want her to see Peter the way he was now.

It took three days for the Cradle to repair Peter's body enough for him to be safely taken out of it, and that was when everyone sighed with a little bit of relief. The teen wasn't quite out of the woods yet, but he definitely had better chances now. He wasn't breathing by himself yet, but at least he didnt have a gaping hole in his abdomen. His healing factor could take care of the rest.

Diana was finally allowed to see Peter when he was taken out of the Cradle and placed in a bed. She of course cried a little bit when she saw them, but then she wiped her eyes and sat on the bed with a book and read to him. She was convinced Peter could hear them and didn't want him to be bored. Everyone else followed her lead and either talked directly to him, or to each other if anyone shared a shift just so he didn't feel alone. Assuming Dia was right and he could hear them.

Peter woke up three days after they took him off the machines that had been helping him breathe, and it was during Bucky's shift. Harley was with him keeping him company while they watched a movie, and since it was a movie they had both seen before, they were pointing out unrealistic things and other nonsense. They didn't even notice when Peter woke up at first since he didn't make a single sound, but Bucky happened to look back at him a couple minutes later and jumped up when he found the boy's eyes open and a little glazed over.

"Bambi!"

He and Harley rush to separate sides of the bed and Peter barely manages a grunt when Harley grabs a glass of water with a straw and holds it up for Peter. The younger teen drinks slowly until he weakly pushes his brother's arm away, and Harley puts the cup back down on the nearby table as Bucky asks FRIDAY to tell Bruce, Stephen, and Tony that Peter woke up. It didn't take more than a couple of minutes for all three of them to rush into the room and for Bruce to check his vitals and his injury while Tony and Stephen asked him simple questions. Did he know where he was? What was two plus two?

What was the last thing he remembered?

Peter furrows his brows. "The Rescue suit." He clears his throat when his voice comes out raspy and Stephen grabs the cup of water to hold out for the teen to drink.

"Yeah, well, your brother was in the Rescue suit. He technically saved your life twice. Once from becoming a stain on my doorstep, and the second time being the general fact that he saw you and called for help." Tony says. "Mom said he was about ready to go after Rhino."

Harley sniffs with disdain. "Thanks for talking about me like I'm not here...and no I didn't confront him." The teen says when Peter releases the straw from his mouth and opens it to say something. "I didn't even make it out of the lab. Mom sent Quill, Steve, and Bucky."

"He gave us a bit of trouble." Bucky says from the wall he settled against when the parents first came in. "Let me just say that Quill is a lot stronger than I thought. As in, he grabbed the guy, and threw him over his shoulder and down the street."

Peter's eyes widen and a long moment of silence passes. Everyone in the room had either fought the guy or at least saw the video of Peter's fight, so it was a well known fact that the Rhino was not something one threw around. The only other person who could probably do what Quill did was Thor.

Tony then asked the question that some of the team had been wondering. "How is Thumbelina not dead?"

"Self control." Both Stephen and Bucky answer.

"He has that?" Tony asks dramatically and Bucky laughs.

"Anyway, do you feel up to seeing Diana?" Stephen asks Peter.

"...sure. For a little bit."

"Before I forget, I'm fixing your suit. The guy somehow managed to damage the part that sends a distress signal to either FRIDAY or Victor. Mom and I never got pinged when Karen went offline." Tony says with a frown.

"I guess it's a good thing I didn't sit still then." Peter says quietly.

"The one time I'm glad you didn't."

Bruce finishes looking Peter over while Stephen leaves to gather Diana, and Bucky leaves to make dinner for everyone. Then Tony leaves to go grab some fresh clothes for Peter when the teen complains about feeling gross, and when Harley turns to follow, Peter calls out for him to wait. Harley turns and walks back over to his brother's bedside and Peter holds up a fist.

"Thanks."

Harley smirks and the two do their special handshake. Thankfully this one not as elaborate as the one Peter and Ned had. "It's like I said, someone's gotta look after you."

Peter returns the smiles albeit weakly. "That's what parents are for."

"And older brothers."

"You know, I vaguely recall this conversation."

"Well that's a good sign." Bruce says from across the room.

DnD: Chaos Campaign-S1

Here is where it all began, It was my first session ever, so it started out with me only. It wasn’t as chaotic, however, my character is enough to cause disaster without even trying. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you the main reason the party suffers so much in the future, Naztae Theifreik.

Yeah his name is stupid, but I never took this seriously to begin with. I didn’t plan for him to live this long either, but here we are. Anyway, this asshole is a half-elf sorcerer (his source is Wild Magic by the way, the source of all our hardships), who has the background of a Charlatan.

I would go more into detail about his looks, backstory, personality, but his background and class are all that really matter for what is to come. So, with my sorcerer all set up, I started what I thought was going to be an epic adventure full of traveling and killing monsters with tons of looting along the way.

I was wrong. Oh god I was wrong. We haven’t won a single battle since we started, but we’ll get to that in due time. For now, we’ll start at the beginning, a simpler, happier time.

These sessions can be rather long, so I decided to sum this up in bullet points instead of having the mess of paragraphs. So strap in and sit back for the slow incline towards the first drop our roller coaster of chaos:

Naztae went to Pika, a country on a continent full of magic, to serve as a bodyguard to Eros Barnabel. Eros is a bard searching for inspiration. Naztae just wanted money, and the job was easy.

They stop at a tavern and inn. Eros goes to bed early while Naztae scopes for potential victims in the bar.

A dude that won’t shut up is spotted. Even the barmaid is trying to escape. Naztae realizes he is the richest man in the room, so he moseys over in hopes of getting him drunk, taking him to bed, and stealing his stuff.

During this time, the duke drunkenly rams his elbow into Naztaes sexy face. He loses charisma from the nasty bruise, then Naztae gives up after that.

The duke won’t shut up about his daughter (she was coming to visit and never showed up) then he went to bed. Naztae sneaked into his room stole 59 coin in from him while he slept. He was never spotted.

Naztae has terrible dexterity and keeps tripping over a child’s toy.

Naztae goes back downstairs to steal more. He meets Pierre (douche) and his partner Noir (cool dude). Pierre constantly boasts about his quests while Noir played darts. Naztae humors him to lower his guard, and realized he is just as chatty as the duke.

Naztae is challenged to a game of darts. He sucks at dexterity, so he tried to use magic. The barkeep got mad and said magic was banned. He lied about his magic ability and plays legally. He completely missed the target.

Pierre invited Naztae to hunt some owl bears. Naztae said he thinks about it, but really he’s going to ditch him beforehand. He waved them goodbye and finally went to bed.

A clay monster attacks the inn. Apparently this is something common for locals. It attacked an old man. Naztae cast fireball, missed, then watched as Noir came in and killed it.

Pierre (super douche) comes in and sees it is dead and boasts about his “conquest” without giving Noir the credit. Also he took his sweet time coming down in the first place. Naztae is totally ditching him now.

He woke up the next morning when Pierre knocked on the door. He didn’t bother answering. Pierre said they’ll leave their “lazy” friend behind. Pierre can go fuck himself.

When Pierre fucks off, Naztae leaves and sees the old man that was attacked was sitting with his son. Naztae has sympathy for the old man (as an old librarian took Naztae in as a baby and raised him as his own) and checks on him.

The begged Naztae to take his father to a temple nearby. It’s all the man ever wanted in life, and he needs to do this before he passes away. Naztae agrees, but only the condition of keeping the man inside and away from danger until he is healed (A scoundrel with a heart of gold)

Naztae goes about his business and tries to explore town. There is literally nothing there, but Naztae spots the girl who owned the toys he kept tripping over.

Eros sat by a tree and tried to father inspiration. Naztae bothered him because he had a job to do and he was bored. Eros wanted to be left alone.

There is a weird church where people burn letters to relatives. Naztae stares at these for a bit, then decided to leave out of boredom.

A mother freaks out because the girl with the toys went missing. Naztae had nothing better to do, so he looked for her.

He followed a trail to a camp full of clay people. Naztae goes invisible and sneaks into he camp. He sees where they put the girl, so he peeks inside and sees they’re actually being good to her.

Clay people notice tracks in the snow (the mountains have snow btw), and become suspicious. Naztae knows these clay men are weak, so he tosses a fireball.

CRITICAL FAILURE! SURGE TABLE ROLL IS 85!

Suddenly Naztae has two identical copies of himself fall on the ground as a surge of magic forced him to cast “mirror image”.

Naztae tried to run, but was surrounded instantly (since invisibility doesn’t matter with snow and two copies of yourself following after you).

The clay men take Naztae into one of their tents and offer to show “the truth”. His clay hands reach for his head. There are dumber ways to die, so he agreed and went on a brain journey.

The clay men were made by a wizard, the town is cursed by ghosts, the old man is the source of evil, and they took the girl to protect her from this evil. (Foreshadowing)

The brain journey is over and a clay man takes Naztae to church. They go to the temple the son asked about, and they see to freshly killed clay men on the ground.

Naztae rolls a perception check for any signs of the killer.

CRITICAL FAILURE! SURGE TABLE ROLL IS 76!

Out of nowhere, Naztae randomly starts glowing. The clay man that served as his guide screams in fear as he temporarily goes blind.

After a minute of shooshing the clay man, Naztae pretends nothing happened and goes inside the temple.

The old man is there, and he is praying to a statue. Apparently that is really bad, however Naztae does nothing as old men make him sad and guilty (Again, backstory).

The old man completes his ritual and HELL BREAKS LOOSE. The old man dies, and Naztae found a letter he left as an offering.

The letter mentioned how he regrets trying stealing the daughter of a wealthy family for ransom money. They kept her in a basement for safekeeping, but she died because of it. They buried her somewhere, but all they feel is guilt as hundreds of people died after a war was started over her disappearance.

Naztae runs from the temple. There is a blizzard outside.

The path he took is COVERED with ghosts. They’re reliving the war that tore this town apart years ago. Somehow, Naztae makes it through.

He found the town and took refuge inside a building. A brother and a sister pulled him though a window into a barricaded house. Naztae asks if they have a basement (for a buried body). They have none.

Naztae leaves and goes to the bar across the road. Eros, the mother, and some other person were there. That building had no basement either.

At this point Naztae “gave up” and laid under one of the beer taps with his mouth open. He did this for awhile, then he decided to go back to the other house. Before he leaves, another person decides to do the same thing as Naztae and gets totally shitfaced.

In the house with the siblings, Naztae asks for a shovel. They both grab one. There was one more house he didn’t search, so it had to be it. They bust out of the house and run to the one next door.

This house had a basement.

They go down and see the floor is entirely covered with dirt, however one part of the floor is mounded. They all dig until they finally find a body of a little girl.

Her spirit rises up and she thanks everyone for setting her free.

Curse is over. YAAAAY!

As a way to celebrate, Naztae finished what he started and got hammered during an awesome party( THAT IS A MISTAKE. THAT IS A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE MISTAKE. NEVER DRINK AND WILD MAGIC. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER!)

And that’s the end of session one. Out of all the others it is the least eventful, but it is actually very important backstory as these surges are a good example of what is to come. Plus, Naztae has this thing about money. He will do anything to get it, as it is part of his Charlatan background.

However, his behavior and his source of wild magic IS NOT A GOOD MIX. I also have a feeling these characters I met are going to come back in the future, especially since Eros still owes Naztae money (and he will get that money even if the things he has to go through nearly kills him first).

By the way, the duke’s daughter was actually dead the whole time. If Naztae went with Pierre on his hunt, he would have found her corpse in a camp in the woods. The last part with the dead girl was rushed because it was 4 a.m. by the time we finished our session, but playing for the first time was worth it.

I hope this first session was an interesting read, If it wasn’t, I promise it will get more interesting. Trust me, the next session Naztae set a prostitute on fire. I don’t know if other people consider that crazy, especially if they are a veteran at DnD. So, out of curiosity, feel free to comment some of the crazy shit that happens in your own sessions.

I don’t care how unbelievable or how bizarre it may be.Seeing the madness of creativity is honestly the best part about the whole game.

fire emblem au?

So I’ve been playing a lot of Fire Emblem lately and also have seen a few fantasy Ace Attorney posts so naturally my brain went “BAM Fire Emblem AU”! It's in the AA4 era mostly at the moment because that's what my brain latched on to, but I also have Ideas for units from other eras

I honestly don’t have much mapped out yet and anyone can offer suggestions, but here’s what I have so far:

Apollo is an archer, because I saw the idea in another post earlier and fell in love with it

He's also our lord equivalent though so I guess we'll have to give him better growths than half the FE archers so he can... like... take a hit... because I can only imagine being forced to keep an archer alive or "game over" for those inevitable first few maps where you only have like three units.

ANYWAY Apollo is an archer. Probably worked for the castle or something like that. Normal footsoldier kind of guy?

Then he's ordered to go find Phoenix Wright, who is... hard to place. I kind of want to make him a myrmidon or a mercinary for some reason?

Anyway, goes to find Phoenix, who apparently was once a famous hero but no fell from grace long ago. Apollo gets to him, finds him, and is IMMEDIATELY betrayed by his superior officer Kristoph

(there was something off about that guy from the moment Phoenix was brought up. What's up with that. Also Kristoph is either a sorcerer/dark mage character or he's a paladin.)

Winds up having to flee with Phoenix and fight his way out with Phoenix and... a child?

This child is Trucy, who, as it turns out, is half divine dragon so they're good. (I know Trucy as a mage is a sensible choice but consider Trucy as a Manakete. I like this idea. Especially if she's the very fluffy and good dragon like Fae)

Incidentally this means Apollo is ALSO half divine dragon he just has no idea this is the case yet. (Thalassa and Mangnifici are/were both divine dragons. Thalassa is on the age end of "starting to go mad but genuinely good so mostly stopping it" while Magnifici is just an asshole.)

Phoenix is like "so kid looks like it's time for a quest!" and Apollo is like "oh no" and they wind up having to save the continent through gathering an eclectic army of friends and also defeating Kristoph and also something to do with the fact Trucy's a dragon, I haven't gotten that far yet.
