im not a hater but i dont *quite* understand how dirkhal isnt either p*do or inc*st (just censored for keyword blocking in your search). isnt hal a 13 year old version of dirk? im all for dirk on dirk its really funny to me but seeing how dirk raised that guy (loose term seeing as he coded him from the ground up) and even with hal growing up and coming into his own and getting genderweird with it i dont quite understand the appeal while having those words in your blocklist

preciate the censoring. i dont rlly think there's something necessarily romantic between the two, and its more two "individuals" who find (dis)comfort in themselves, its complicated. i think saying dirk's like hal's father is... a stretch to say the least. they both evolved parallel to each other, and due to dirk and hal's isolated situation, evolved in roughly the same ways. i think the gender thing comes from hal seeing dirk as a person outside herself/ struggling with the expectations to be him.

for the 13 yr old part, dude's not 13. yeah dirk implied she was 13 but semi back tracked with how they both had diverged from the same starting point.

the final day. of the 30 day hardcore series. jimmy aka solidaritygaming has gone live. the final day is upon us. sausage and mog are thinking about bringing the ender dragon to the overworld. idk how to do that but i wouldnt put it past them. they all want to do a raid too.

THERES FINALLY AN EXPLANATION FOR THE CHICKENS. martyn has a thing on his ship that fires out chicken eggs. they keep trying to guess when its going to fire by counting down. they keep saying theyre going to kiss each other if they get it right. ?? sure. then they start trying to get it to hit them on the head

THE DISCS ARE MISSING. someone has taken the discs. theres some in both sausages and martyns base. jimmy challenges martyn to a 1v1 (if they both survive the raid) and jimmy then turns to say if he survives he'll challenge sausage next.

sausage says theyre all going to kiss after the raid and jimmy says he does not kiss thieves.

they start to prep for the raid and jimmy gets a trident. he immediately starts attacking cpk who starts attacking him with his mace. jimmy gets his ass beat as sneeg and sausage start attacking him with their maces too. he calls out for martyn to save him.

when martyn does not come to rescue him scott logs in so he runs to scotts house. its actually really sweet do not talk to me.

jimmy realises on wave 2 that he doesnt have a shield?? surely this wont go wrong. he keeps "accidentally" hitting sneeg with his trident. good thing it barely even does half a heart per hit.

martyn calls jimmy a potato/spud then says something like "you look like one of andys toys mr tater head" and jimmys like you know thats a sore subject. and martyns like oh i genuinely did not even think of that. then jimmy goes searching through cpks chests and martyn breaks them so back to normal.

jimmy gets a shield :) then he goes to sort out cpks chests because hes nice like that. he then threatens to kill martyn. hes THEN LIKE "im the bigger man arent i chat. tell me i am."

jims worried he missed the whole raid then he looks over and theres just. a ravager. so hes like okay nvm and goes back to the group. he immediately starts trying to kill martyn and i think its really funny that nobody really tries to stop jimmy. however neither of them kill each other so.

jimmy/cpk/scott get distracted trying to shoot sneeg then jimmy turns around AND THE ENTIRE NEXT WAVE IS BEHIND THEM so he just. screams.

jimmy flees to mogs base in the middle of the water and just starts shooting at anything that moves. mostly sneeg.

MARTYN KILLS JIMMYS DOG. HONK IS GONE. jimmy is setting up a pvp arena he is so desperate to kill martyn.

sneeg wants to mess with his mace so scott holds a totem and sneeg hits him. he gets the achievement for doing 50 hearts of damage in one hit so.

anyway arena is ready. sneeg takes jimmy off to the side and gives him a god apple.

martyn burns all the discs he has on him and they start fighting. its kind of pathetic. jimmy DOES kill martyn but he has a totem so. cpk tries to give jimmy a totem BUT HIS INVENTORY IS FULL so martyn picks it up. he has like 3 totems on him now.

martyn says to call the fight quits. as soon as jimmy agrees martyn tries to attack him again. MOG COMES IN WITH THE STEEL CHAIR

scott starts attacking jimmy (if he dies you have to die :( SHUT UP SCOTT) and jimmy takes a moment before he defends himself. he was not expecting martyn to die. theyre all bickering about it THEN JUST,, SAUSAGE YOU MOTHERFUCKER PUT YOUR MACE DOWN. THEN SNEEG KILLS MOG.

And Scott's reasoning for attacking Jimmy "If Martyn dies you have to die" oh so Scott suddenly cares about Martyn huh. I need to watch this VOD for sure sometime but wow. What I've gotten from this is: - further Sausage dismay - I do not trust Seapeekay - I do not trust Sneeg - Scott is Scott - Property Police had a lot of very nostalgic and nice moments and then they started fighting each other with malice like I've never seen before. (Also Martyn killing Jimmy's dog kinda symbolic to me. Big dogs...)

The only truly good thing here is MOG I LOVE MOG YAYY Mog is AWESOME Mog even came in to defend Jimmy from Martyn. Mog has done nothing wrong ever. He especially didn't deserve to die to Sneeg. The only thing well and good in this SMP is Mog which is funny because I have two nickels now (cough cough SOS SMP) (This SMP wasn't trying to be anything it wasn't though so I'm very much not putting it on the same level as SOS but where SOS was just kinda lame to me, This SMP just made me really upset from the characters' perspective so Mog ends up being one of the only truly positive aspects both times)

we're 2/3rds of the way through the first season! very exciting, and with a lot of red string thats really starting to connect!!

as always, tma and tmagp spoilers under the cut! proceed with caution

celia:

- going into the meeting, celia is cautiously supportive of sam. so far, shes the closest to the (tma listener) audience in terms of background info. she's more inclined to believe sam anyway bc she has experience w the paranormal and especially with eye-related world catastrophes (from here on out, im going to approach celia as a character who is canonically from the tma universe, as i think theres plenty of supporting evidence at this point)

- she didn't know that starkwall were a militant branch that used to be employed with the oiar! in this way, shes working as a small foil to alice, who has a lot more info on government secrets, but actively avoids learning about paranormal ones.

- celia proposes that burning down the institute was actually done for good reason. as an audience, we can understand why (and even agree with her) but this is going to be a hard moral take to justify to her coworkers (especially if she wants to maintain a relationship with sam, whos falling on the opposite of this fence) and i get the sense that her grand reveal will eventually be drawn from them distrusting her. even from the perspective of tmagp characters, its becoming clear shes hiding things

- she says shes done research on TMI and describes its research as "catastrophic, world-endingly bad" ofc, shes right, but it does raise a question about how much of this research shes shared with sam, who requested she update him with anything she could find on it. either she was, and sam still believes that the protocol wasnt justified, or she didnt. and we dont know how much more she could be keeping to herself

- celia leaves an invitation for sam to keep her in on the conspiracy, but i dont see them agreeing on the morality of what he finds

sam:

- despite receiving pushback about his 'The Computers Are Spying On Us' theory last ep, sam is still determined to confide in a "safe" environment. as the audience, we know that phones, security cameras, and god knows what other devices are also being used to watch them, but this is still a proactive step on sam's part to avoid being listened-in on

- he's put together that starkwall initiated the protocol in 1999 to put a stop to whatever the magnus institute was doing -> based on the fan reactions ive seen, its been widely assumed that this was related to the tmagp!watcher's crown or some other eye ritual, and while thats entirely likely, the protocol could have been triggered from a large unbalance that wasn't necessarily ritual related

- he's pretty convinced that the protocol mentioned in ep 19 cant be the same protocol as in the modern day, positing that theres such a large lapse in time between the incident and TMI burning down (with sam and celia agreeing). but i dont think its a stretch for us to assume the protocols are the same, or at least based heavily in the same concept

- he received starkwell paperwork from 1999 via a mysterious email! though the address was different this time, it makes sense to relate this back to the email he received from "john", and also the email that sent gwen info on lena. im not sure if these are individuals each sending their own mail (jmj), or if its one person (thinking of the man colin keeps referencing as their spy)

- the paperwork he received was about the total destruction of TMI, but was heavily censored. i wonder if it was already redacted when it was recovered by the emailer or if they were the one who concealed parts of the documents

- "you cant seriously be ok with working for such a shady organization/ people died. they might still be dying." sam seems to really be coming into his protagonist wings this episode, reminding the audience why he scored so high on empathy at TMI as a child. similarly to alice, hes very motivated by protecting people, but has a strong sense of justice that i dont see in the other characters yet. while alice and lena are motivated by keeping the status quo for maximum guaranteed safety, sam is already pushing for change even at a personal expense

alice:

- expectedly, alice is more hostile towards sam's revelations, but not in her usual skeptic manner

- she knew about starkwall's history and reputation within the oiar and wasnt at all skeptical about their involvement in the TMI fire. i found this interesting because it showcases her specific brand of knowledge (government secrets and conspiracies) but also lacks the complete shut-down she normally uses when discussing paranormal topics.

- i think alice genuinely doesn't believe in supernatural stuff, or at least she's alright with vaugely accepting it as long as it cant affect her or her friends. she holds the same sentiment for government conspiracies, but without the heavy handed skepticism. i think she largely operates off of 'ive personally experienced this so i know it definitely exists' rules

- we get to see a small fan theory get confirmed this episode: alice does firmly believe in the conspiracy sam is looking into, but is motivated to ignore it for her safety and his own, and she admits to turning him away from it to keep him safe

- very important to note: she repeatedly says shes scared of them all getting fired, and seems to place getting fired and safety as two equal options, like you cant have one without the other

- we see alice refuse to believe certain aspects of the protocol conspiracy based on the idea that things dont run smoothly enough to support such a massive cover-up. ie; the computers cant load properly so they couldnt spy on them, and the protocol is not an ongoing project bc the staff are too small and flaky to take on that task.

- "i hate that thats how things are. i hate it. but it doesnt stop it from being true." -> this gave me flashbacks to jon and martin discussing the eyepocolypse in s5, where martin found it difficult to conceptualize and accept that the new world order was purely evil, constantly repeating that he hated reminders of their reality. always followed by jon firmly stating it WAS the reality, though, and denial was unhelpful. alice seems to be stuck in the middle of this same type of moral battle. constantly weighing her denial of her situation with the reality she is starting to be forced with facing

- the difference between her and sam's empathy lies in its scale. sam is willing to accept massive risk if it has the potential to help others, purely based on strong principles. whereas alice doesnt see the point in taking that risk- in putting everyone in danger- if it will not have a definite payback. she puts a high price on protecting her people, and weighs reality over hypothetical good

- as such, she refuses to be a part of the conspiracy, seeing it as an unrealistic risk that would do her and sam more harm than good

gwen:

- shes been assigned to recruit new externals, which does shine a new light on why she wanted more security. its one thing to interact with a contracted killer that has ties to the oiar, but another to confront one with no reason to respect her authority

- she is so clearly out of her depth in this career pitch

- "youve got completely the wrong idea", implying that the oiar isnt interested in controlling the actions of the externals. they're still free to do as they please, and the way gwen phrases it you get the sense that their opportunities are only increased through involvement with the oiar

ink5oul:

- they're tattooing on a dead body, and seem surprised that gwen was able to find their warehouse

- they dont fully understand what they're becoming. they can sense a change in their humanity and how they interact with energy (how they feed upon the fear of their victims and the attention from others)

- they refer to this need for attention as an addiction*

- another theory was confirmed! ink5oul is stealing designs from old artists like sutherland macdonald and oscar jarrett. i didnt think was going to be true when it first started circulating, but im not against the narrative move! it makes for a very conflicted character rather than a purely talented and perfect one. plus, i find it kinda funny that their not magically good at tattooing, their ascendence into avatar-hood started with them stealing designs

- they actually refer to their art in a really self depreciating way, only really having confidence when it came to their adaptations of older work, but still seeing their art as different and lesser-than the original

- i think a portion of this is due to the chemical ingredient of the ink -> though oscar jarrett doesnt have any alchemy ties that i could find, i think it might play a role in how the tattoos behave and how the skin beneath the designs was perfectly preserved

- despite their personal dislike of their own art, ink5oul still seems pretty egotistical, accepting that they must be better than others if theyve been given a platform. this is an interesting flip on an imposter syndrome, where we get a character who truly believes they deserve recognition knowing they didnt do the work behind the fame

- around the time ink5oul started enjoying the fear of their clients, their physical body also experienced a reflection of that. their tattoos began to change, with the ink (presumably the kind that jarrett had used) flowing under their skin. its implied that they use this to adapt designs into something more beautiful and brutal, as a way to continuously feed

- "have i changed or have i simply emerged?"

- ink5oul is one of the first tmagp avatars that seems to really disregard consent in their victims. ripping away the idea that victims, in some respect, "choose" to get involved in their fate. all of those people chose to roll the dice. that mugger chose to approach needles. the chef chose to accept lady mowbray's hunt. but ink5oul takes relish in the concept that they can take this away from people.

- what really strikes me is that gwen didnt ask many questions to prompt ink5oul into speaking, and we get a decently long and comprehensible (dare i say) statement from them. this could be explained as ink5oul just being full of themselves- its not out of character for an influencer to monologue about their life and accomplishments and drama, but its strange that we get such a concise statement in this setting. in tma, unless it was taken by an archivist or within the institute, statements were jumbled and inconclusive most of the time, so what was influencing ink5oul to spill their darkest secret? this is easily something that could end their career, but they say it all very casually, for apparently no reason

- i went back to check, and the incident is recorded through gwen's phone, not via a tape recorder, so im unsure what could be the influencing factor here

- *ide love to see addiction in the tmagp universe be explored in a new way. in tma we saw examples of how addiction fell into the becoming of an avatar and we got some examples of withdrawal, but i feel like there could be room for exploring a character whos getting sober. we saw this with melanie in tma, but her route to forfeiting her 'addiction' was through a horrible sacrifice, and i wonder if they'll keep with these rules in the tmagp universe or if addiction will play a somewhat different role

- im happy that ink5oul will remain a rogue agent for the time being, it offers some depth to their character arc that i feel other externals might lack, just because they become tools of the oiar and they might lose some spontaneity in their actions. though, im very interested in how the externals contract operates, since gwen seemed to think it offered a much better deal than free ranging fear (it checks out if the oiar is routinely feeding the externals).

THATS WHAT IM SAYING!!!!!!!!!! zooble is the least humanoid and is also actively the least immersed, with them literally hating the adventures and not wanting to go on the two we've seen so far!!!!!!!!

i MEAN they can literally pull themselves apart and swap out entire body parts, not to mention the fact that they're able to control them when separated.

ANYWAYS YOU'RE RIGHT ANON!!!!!! ITS MY BLOG!!!!!!!!!! SO IM GOING TO GO FERAL AND TALK ABOUT ZOOBLE FOR A LOT OF WORDS!!!!!!!!!! (under this cut of course)

zooble sticks out a ton considering that even kinger and gangle, the other two most non-humanoid members, still have very humanoid aspects. gangle's ribbon body gives off the illusion of a humanoid form and the comedy and tragedy masks she has for a head are based off of a human face (albeit hers are a very simple and detail-less version). kinger is a bit more of a stretch in the humanoid aspect but he has a somewhat humanoid silhouette (somewhat used very loosely here), two humanoid hands, and he wears clothes like the other humanoid characters.

zooble stands out since they look far more inhuman than the rest of the cast does. in the pilot, the parts they chose for that day literally included a crab claw. from what we've seen, they seem to lack a lot of parts that resemble "proper" humanoid appendages, save for the ones used for their right arm and left leg. zooble really stands out from the rest, considering how they're always swapping out their parts and messing with them. they're the only one in the circus who can change their appearance on their own. they're also going to have different parts for each episode, and while its an INCREDIBLY cool detail, it also really makes me think.

zooble seems to be actively avoiding getting immersed in the circus. i mean, personality wise they're a lot more down to earth than the rest of the main characters, which is evident from the fact that they're rather blunt. i mean they straight up tell kinger they thought that he would abstract next LMAO.... they really don't seem like the type to mince their words, considering that they tell pomni about not being able to leave in an incredibly straightforward way and dont particularly try to soften the blow like ragatha does.

they continuously swear despite the filter, even after having presumably been there for years. the only other character we see do that is pomni, though she's only been in the circus for two days and it's probably on impulse. yes its a silly thing to point out but most people tend to start censoring themselves if they know swearing is useless while zooble keeps doing it. they set up kaufmo's funeral as well and although they could have been asked to do so, i believe they did most of it, if not all of it on their own accord. zooble was the last to give their speech about him and clearly seemed upset when doing so.

unlike ragatha and jax, who are more than happy to actively play along with the immersion, zooble doesnt want to immersed at all.

they refuse to participate in adventures, as from caine's line in the pilot about making the adventure "unobtrusive" that they can "choose not to get involved with", it likely wasnt the first time they didnt want to go. though them not coming to the candy canyon kingdom could probably be because they chose to set up kaufmos funeral instead. i mean by the time pomni is at the stage everyone else had already gathered and they were likely just waiting for her and ragatha, so i imagine that the group worked out a whole plan on what to do.

they only went on the first adventure because the gloinks literally pulled them apart and dragged them into it and im like 99% sure that caine made the gloinks do that on purpose so that pomni would properly get introduced to everyone, including zooble. i mean it was clear that she was SUPPOSED go help save them from the gloink queen but got swept up with the whole kaufmo abstracting thing instead. plus gooseworx has mentioned numerous times that zooble hates the adventures.

this could all be because zooble is the most recent arrival to the circus before pomni and therefore they're still holding on to some hope that they can leave, but i believe that it's moreso about them wanting to remain "human" despite everything. they want to cling on to what still counts as their humanity.

to me, zooble doesnt get immersed in the circus because they're actively trying to cling onto their humanity and the reality in the outside world. theyre trying to remain as human as they can by holding on to what they view as uniquely human qualities and tendencies, like funerals. it allows them to remind themselves that they are human and that at one point they were indeed in the real world, despite the situation that they've found themselves in now. zooble doesnt want to get immersed in the circus since it would mean accepting it all, new non-humanoid body and far-too-wild adventures included. but i mean can you really blame them lol

zooble is such an interesting character AND LIKE NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THEM. AND EVEN IF SOMEBODY IS ITS USUALLY IN A GROUP CONTEXT BEFORE THEY BRUSH THEM OFF GRAHHHHHHHHHGHHHHHHHHH IM FERALLLLLLLLLL

Ok thats such a lie, I totally have not imagined that until right now, but now I have a new thing to imagine. You know, like when you pay too much attention to the subtitles on accident, forget how to read, get really caught up in the fact that actors exist, you know that kinda stuff. But this one has like potential incentives. I almost just typed “potential inc*st” and I was giggling about it for like a nanosecond before I was like “Oh boy” and then changed it. Also, how tf do you censor stuff, like F*ck, F**k, F***, etc. Are there rules or is it like personal preference?? Ah, I just thought too much about words and like totally freaked out because I was like “How the f**k(?) do you spell thought” and then I just had a moment of reflection. Sitting alone in an apartment in a lawn chair watching family guy is peak brainrot. Honestly? I think brainrot is what makes life so interesting yk? Like how else will I stop the OCD? Therapy? Psshh (Jk im in therapy) (But you get the point). One time I had an interview with a new therapist and she was like “So what are your coping mechanisms?” and I sat there for like 2 minutes and just said “Family guy, sims 4, and Tumblr” and I will remember that moment forever because all she said was “better than drugs” and then I did not see her again. What a time to be alive. To be fair, I was in middle school. That’s not to say those coping mechanisms aren’t still alive and healthy, I have just added more to the bank (worse and better) (lol) (not lol) and I would not tell another therapist that because I found my embarassment somewhere along the way. Poetry never worked for me, so like if you open up my “poetry journal” all you’d really find in there is just like “Today I had a panic attack, now I found that I am so scared of mountain lions” and then it ends in like “All in all, I am glady nickname isn’t marv,” Then after I write all of it, I’m like violently reality checked and just like “why am I on the floor, on tumblr, and crying” and then I get back up and watch family guy. Sometimes I just pretend Im doing a vlog and just start talking to myself. It’s like super embarassing to be caught “vlogging alone” because then you have to explain yourself and it always ends in either “omg yeah I do that too!” or “… anyways,” Oh god. I HATE ROSS GELLER. Doe’s is probably the inherent silliness of his premise to me? Just imagining a diving suit that assumes everything pointing to him being what is essentially a magical book powered automaton (thats how I see him anyway lol) is just How Americans Are Actually makes me giggle. It’s a stupid little premise but it’s fun to play with, and that’s what matters to me

Darcy on the other hand is that, well, originally he was for a different fandom and was created almost ten years ago now. He’s gone through a bunch of changes before I was able to get him back into something I find fun to write in general. I’m a huge fan of campy over the top villains who do things not for evil’s sake or a grand plan, but because it’s fun. Like if you’re gonna be evil, at least have fun being evil! You don’t have to have a grand plan or secretly think you’re doing the right thing all the time (even though i fuckin love those kinds of villains too. Im a connoisseur) sometimes you know what you’re doing is bad, or morally dubious and you do it anyway because it looks really fun!

i wish id clipped it or managed to find a clip of it when it happened, because to me that really shows how well c!jack is written, even if the moment wasn’t necessarily “in character” or scripted. jack is not a particularly cruel or vengeful person, despite the persona he puts on. his evil villain act is ultimately just something he does to convince himself that the only way other people will see him is if he makes them see him. in reality he’s just a teen. he’s the type of person who builds pubs so his friends can hang out with him in them and the type of person who mourned the death of the man who brutally killed him in cold blood and the type of person who forgave wilbur the moment he apologized and the type of person who knew that killing that cow was wrong and tried his best to make it right by building it a grave.

THE PARALLEL BETWEEN JIN LING BEING A LIFELINE FOR JIANG CHENG AND A-YUAN FOR LAN WANGJI AFTER THE BATTLE AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY

and like . the fact! that lwj and jc dislike each other!!. jc projects blame onto him for wwx both “leaving” him and indirectly causing their families deaths and when hes so consumed by it he makes wwx an enemy, lwj is there now? trying to protect him?? and lwj, who can never understand the pain that wwx , indirectly or not put jc through, but who was right there when jc tried to kill him and will never allow him to hurt wwx again. and how they like. in a way project blame of their tragedies onto each other while dealing with some type of survivor guilt and in their own way still loving wwx through it all???  amd in way its kind of fundamentally selfish but also tragically understandable? and like when u put it against the fact that after he disappears during the sunshot campaign they were looking for him together and fought together??

JUST. THE CHARACTERS. AND THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS. MAN. UGH. GOD. 

and like i think thats what makes it so good? its such a sad and painful and violent story, edgy even, but its compelling bc at the center of it there are all of these relationships and different types of love and hope and. :( i love it
