Random post-AoC ideas/fun

Link and Mipha get married about two years after Age of Calamity. Link is 19, Mipha is roughly 18 by Hylian years (she’s actually 21, but Zora aging is different)

Zelda steps up as queen, having come of age. Urbosa is her closest advisor, alongside Impa.

Zelda has a royal lab recommissioned after the previous one was destroyed during the war, and Purah and Robbie are happy as a clam helping to rebuild the place

Revali is knighted and serves Zelda proudly

Daruk and Link hang out a lot when Link isn’t busy helping Mipha or Zelda. Link spends the majority of his time in the Domain, but he still wants to help Hyrule as a whole

Link and Mipha’s son, Koden, is conceived pretty soon after their marriage, surprising everyone, but their second child isn’t conceived until a decade later

The Guardian technology is decommissioned and repurposed, as well as the Divine Beasts. No one really wants any other mishaps of corruption or anything happening. The Sheikah towers remain, however, to try and increase security and help connect the kingdom. Purah starts working on more Sheikah slates for high security clearance to use. She calls it the Purah Pad, but it takes years to develop.

About five years after the Calamity, there are strange, random occurrences of new monster hordes or discoveries. Zelda summons Link to help Revali handle some monster out in the frozen tundra of Tabantha, and Revali shows off that his gale can now push forwards instead of just bolstering upward into the air. He and Link work together to defeat a gleeok, and come back triumphant and thrilled, but Zelda is worried - this monster has not been sighted in Hyrule before, at least not within recent recorded history. What could this mean?

Seven years after the Calamity, there’s a strange substance called gloom popping up. Link’s father, Abel, gets exposed to it protecting Zelda, and falls ill. Zelda determines that it’s originating from beneath the castle. They have to investigate this. Link and Impa go with her while Mipha works on trying to heal Abel. She asks Revali to stand at the ready with the army. Urbosa and Daruk ready their own warriors, alongside Dorephan. (Baby Sidon is now around preteen age and desperately wants to help. He may or may not try to sneak to the castle before being redirected to guard his nephew.)

No one knows what happened beneath the castle. All they know is that an earthquake shakes the kingdom, the castle rises into the sky, and the team is missing. Rhoam has to take over as de facto leader while the queen is MIA, Mipha is a mess because her husband is gone, and the Sheikah scramble with their chief gone, leaving Purah to reluctantly step in for her sister. (Purah proceeds to hand the responsibilities off to the nearest person so she can continue investigating the situation from the royal lab just outside of Castle Town)

The Sheikah shrines all lock up when the Sheikah slate is shattered beneath the castle. It’s an ominous sign to everyone above ground when it happens.

Here goes the info dump on the prince 😌

He had shorter hair when he was younger cause he felt he'd only be accepted as a boy if he had short hair. Lots of gender disphoria ;-; But, with the new found friends at the castel when he became a guard, the friends he made through his adventures, he felt more accepted comfortable so he let his hair grow to his liking.

His body didn't change that much across time (apart from scars lol)

As mentioned at the right, Prince gets married to Sidon at 124. If you saw the animatic I made -unfinished- You'd know he died. Unfortunately, I can't put that much info in a music video so I couldn't mention more... He died at 127 because of his body trying too hard to match Rauru's arm. Cutting it slowed it, but it was too late to stop it intierly.

Yona care after that, She didn't want to replace Link either. Sbe felt terrible for her friend, Sidon. Having the roles that they do in both their domains, they were forced to take each other's hands. Yona understands the pain tho, she doesn't try to win Sidon at all.

On a brighter note, Y'know the time travel stuff from AoC? Wellll- They meet again 😌 Sidon can't help but want to give all his love to Prince, but he keeps in mind that that this Prince has only met him when he (Sidon) was a baby. I need to make a mini story for them, they are the cutest pathooties 😭

The “Sidlink is problematic” argument comes from the rise in conversavitsm and purity culture in fandoms that's happening nowadays. Let me explain.

The reason people call the ship problematic is that supposedly “Link meet Sidon as a kid, therefore is wrong.” But the only moments when we see them interact is in AOC and that game pretty much has its own timeline. Meanwhile, in BOTW, it's clear that Sidon meets Link once he's an adult because he doesn't recognize him, unlike Bazz who did meet Link when he was a kid and recognizes him. If you need more confirmation, it says in the BOTW art book that Sidon can't remember Link's face from when he was a child.

I know there's a lot of fanart depicting Link playing with baby Sidon, but canonically there's no confirmation of Link interacting with him when he was a kid, calling the ship problematic just for that is a stretch.

The reason I think this argument is rooted in conservatism is that I don't ever see the same treatment with the shipping of Mipha and Link. Mipha confirms in the game that she meet Link since he was a child and fell in love with him once he got older. I'm not trying to redirect hate towards said ship, I just find it odd how people will stretch the narrative to call Sidlink problematic but not bat an eye when a straight ship has the dynamic they despise so much. It doesn't sit well.

If you don't like Sidlink that's valid but stop spreading the narrative that they are proship when both characters are adults in the latest game.

Being completely honest I ended up deleting it about 2 nights ago. I definitely regret it now, but at the time it had gotten maybe one note over a little under a week's course, and I began to think it wasn't all that good and I was flooding the miphlink tag with garbage, or that i was annoying people and directly tagging you was overstepping (which im certain isnt the case, just that late night worse case thinking). I think i also ended up removing two art posts since i wasnt happy with them, so my lesson has been learned. Don't make unchangeable decisions about your blog at 3am 😅

As for the post itself, I am glad that you liked the points! I could try to retype it up and readjust some stuff with hindsight (like instead of saying Sidon got sent off to Yona's domain when Link went missing, he was simply visiting Yona's domain prior to Ganondorf's awakening, and has remained there when everything went to shit. Still a little contrived, but not as much). The main thing I wasn't happy with was Zelda, as it seems like see was still boxed into "being sent to the past." One of the coolest parts of AoC was watching her grow and become more self-assured and confident, eventually leading all of Hyrule herself. She had dominant control over the story in the present, and it would be cool to see that continue in a Zonai Age AoC followup story, but it's tough trying to figure out what to do with her. Unfortunately I am at work, so if I do type this up again it would take some time, so Miphlink Morning Vibes will most likely be over 😔

thinking abt baby sidon in the aoc timeline… mipha and everyone already knowing this other older version of him. instead of botw sidon having to live up to an idealized version of mipha aoc sidon is having to live up to a glamorized version of his own older self from another timeline. must be insane like this other version of you helped stop the calamity like hes a hero etc etc but that wasnt you and yet it is

1. urbosa, 1000% my favorite character from the botw era. she’s just so interesting, especially with her connection to zelda (calling her little bird is the cutest thing ever 🥺). as for her ability, c’mon now she can summon lightning by snapping her fingers thats so badass, not to mention her swordsmanship 😮‍💨

2. riju, SHES MY BABY MY DAUGHTER, i loved seeing how much she matured between botw to totk. from having been thrown into the command of a whole race at age 12 to a badass sage of lightning in her later teens, she’s so likable and fun to be around (also patricia is iconic pls)

3. mipha, she’s just so tragic, having accepted the role of champion because of her love for link (the detail of the description in totk of the zora armor where it explains it’s tradition a wife would make the armor for her husband, confirming that mipha really wanted to be with link one day if she survived the calamity)

4. mineru, she’s just so cool, i love how she’s very into creating new technology (and that may be lowkey the reason i ship her with purah 😭✋🏻). also she sounds hot i will admit fjjfjd

5. tulin, MY SON, the happy face he has when he first sees link again in totk 😭😭 while it would have been cool to have teba too, i appreciate they went with the route of tulin being the sage

6. sidon, now talk about a pansexual KING 😌 fjdjd i felt for him during botw, he’s the only one to have actually known one of the champion first hand, and his sister to add onto that - his need to prove himself (that we also see in aoc) and his desire to not let anyone else he cares about die like she did is such a perfect driver for his character

7. revali, that annoying lil bird twink (affectionate) 😭✋🏻 i know a lot of people don’t like him because he’s an asshole but based on other ritos designs, it might actually be because he was still a very young adult when everything went down, so no wonder he’s a little shit compared to teba jdjd

8. duruk, he seemed like a chill dude who loves to watch link eat rocks fjdjdj i don’t feel particularly either way for him, just want to thank him for saving my ass with his champion ability lmao

9. yunobo, i know he doesn’t mean any harm but god is he annoying with all the whining in botw 😭 he gets a bit better in totk but still isn’t my favorite of the bunch
