Wesen Moodboards
Mellifer (Latin: Honey To Bear)
Tumblr media
Mellifers are a communal race who live in small groups ruled by the Mellischwuler with the others acting as her "worker bees." In the Wesen society, they fulfill the role of clarions, sending warning calls within the creature world. Like real bees, Mellifers operate with a "hive mentality" and live in man-made, human sized "hives." They tend to build those "hives" in the attics of houses, where they harvest their own apitoxin (bee venom).
Under normal circumstance, Mellifers aren't aggressive unless they feel threatened. However, when they do sometimes go after someone with the intent to kill, they use coordinated strategies to disguise their attack. Hexenbiests are their sworn enemies, and Mellifers often kill them on sight. Mellifers also have a tendency to wear yellow or yellow and black patterned clothing, sometimes personalizing some of their belongings as well, such as cell phones, with that coloration.

An NPC for a mini homebrew campaign I want to run! This is Apitta and she's a bee inspired dragonborn. Apitta name is also a rift of Apitoxin which is the venom honey bees make.

What is Bee Venom Cream and Why is It the Latest Skincare Craze?
Tumblr media
From snail mucin to 24k gold-infused serums, the beauty industry is no stranger to unusual skincare ingredients. But one trend creating a buzz—quite literally—is bee venom cream. Touted as “nature’s Botox,” this skincare phenomenon has made its way into luxury beauty regimes, with celebrities and skincare aficionados alike swearing by its rejuvenating effects. But what exactly is bee venom cream, and does it live up to the hype?
Let’s take a deep dive into what makes this golden elixir tick, from its ingredients and benefits to why it’s the newest darling in the world of skincare.
The Main Ingredient: What is Bee Venom?
The hero of bee venom cream is, unsurprisingly, bee venom. Also known as apitoxin, bee venom is a clear liquid produced by honeybees when they sting. In controlled, non-lethal extractions, tiny amounts of venom are collected from bees using a low-voltage electric current passed over a glass sheet. This process stimulates the bees to release venom without dying—a key ethical consideration in its production.
Bee venom contains a cocktail of compounds, including melittin (a peptide with powerful anti-inflammatory properties), apamin, and phospholipase A2. Together, these elements trigger the skin's natural healing processes and collagen production, mimicking the effects of a mild sting to stimulate repair and renewal.
Supporting Ingredients: More Than Just Venom
While bee venom cream may be named for its most exotic ingredient, it’s typically formulated with a luxurious blend of other skin-loving components. Manuka honey often features prominently for its antimicrobial and hydrating properties. You’ll also commonly find hyaluronic acid, shea butter, rosehip oil, and vitamin E to soothe and nourish the skin.
These ingredients work in harmony to ensure that while the venom component stimulates and firms the skin, the rest of the formula maintains balance, hydration, and overall skin health.
The Benefits of Bee Venom Cream
Why are beauty editors, dermatologists, and celebrities adding bee venom cream to their daily routines? The benefits are surprisingly varied and impressive.
Natural Collagen Boost The application of bee venom cream tricks the skin into thinking it’s been lightly stung. This sends blood rushing to the surface and stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, plumper, and more youthful-looking skin.
Anti-Ageing Power With regular use, bee venom cream has been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Skin appears more lifted and smooth, making it a popular alternative to injectable treatments.
Anti-Inflammatory and Antibacterial Thanks to the inclusion of melittin and Manuka honey, this cream can help reduce redness and combat acne-causing bacteria. It’s a dual-action product for both ageing and blemish-prone skin types.
Improved Skin Texture Over time, many users report a noticeable improvement in overall skin tone and texture. Pores appear tighter, and the skin develops a radiant glow that’s hard to miss.
Why Celebrities Are Obsessed
When A-listers like Kate Middleton and Victoria Beckham are rumoured to be fans, you can be sure that bee venom cream has made its way into the beauty big leagues. Its popularity among celebrities likely stems from its ability to deliver visible results without downtime or needles.
In the world of red carpets and HD close-ups, skin that looks firm, hydrated, and luminous is worth its weight in gold. And when the solution comes in a beautifully packaged jar rather than a syringe, it's even more appealing.
How to Use Bee Venom Cream Safely
If you’re tempted to jump on the bee venom cream bandwagon, it's essential to know how to use it properly. Start by doing a patch test—especially if you have sensitive skin or allergies to bee products.
Once deemed safe, most creams can be applied once or twice a day, typically after cleansing and before SPF or makeup. Because bee venom cream stimulates blood flow, some users may experience a slight tingling sensation, which is normal. However, any burning or excessive irritation is a sign to stop use immediately.
It’s also worth noting that bee venom cream is not suitable for people with severe allergies to bee stings or bee-related products. In such cases, consult a dermatologist before use.
The Future of Bee-Based Beauty
Sustainability is an ongoing concern in the beauty world, and ethical sourcing is crucial when it comes to bee venom cream. Look for brands that prioritise non-lethal extraction methods and invest in bee conservation efforts. This ensures your skincare is not only effective but also kind to the environment and its pollinators.
As research into apitherapy continues, we may see bee venom cream and related products evolve further—offering even more targeted benefits for specific skin concerns.
Final Thoughts
The buzz around bee venom cream is more than just a passing trend. With its unique blend of natural stimulation, collagen-boosting action, and anti-inflammatory benefits, it’s no wonder this product is flying off the shelves.Whether you’re looking to refresh tired skin, soften fine lines, or simply indulge in something a little different, bee venom cream is a standout addition to any skincare routine. Just be sure to choose high-quality, ethically sourced products—and let nature’s tiniest pharmacists do the rest.

Bee venom also recognized as apitoxin is a colorless and bitter liquid. Along with American Apitherapy Association, bee therapy or Apitherapy is the therapeutic usage of products made by honeybees such as bee venom and bees. Almost 10,000 bee stings are required to make one gram of bee venom. This makes venom almost seven times more valuable than gold.

Bee Venom Cancer Cure?
Tumblr media
Can HoneyBee Venom Be Used as Anticancer Agent?
New scientific medical studies in PubMedCentraal medical journal, article #10378503 are looking at the mechanisms of anticancer activity of bee venom. Research shows strong 'anti-cancer' potential of both crude bee venom and its main constituent, "melittin", by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting the cell cycle without significantly affecting physiological cells.
Which means the Melittin in Bee Venom stops the cancer cells from growing, starving them to death while letting normal healthy cells reproduce.
Like the bee venom only affects the cancer cells!
There are many reports in the literature on the pharmacological properties of bee venom and/or its main components, e.g., anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial or neuroprotective properties. In addition, both crude venom and melittin exhibit cytotoxic activity against a wide range of tumor cells, with significant anti-metastatic activity in pre-clinical studies.
Ya see,... Over the centuries, secondary metabolites from bacteria, fungi, insects or terrestrial plants have played an essential role in traditional medicine, but bee products have greatly distinguished themselves in chemical biodiversity, providing not only an efficient, but also a widely available and renewable source of therapeutic substances.
We have seen various types of products produced by bees known for their health-promoting properties since ancient times. Natural bee products used in the treatment and prevention of various diseases include honey, bee pollen, propolis, royal jelly, bee pollen, beeswax, as well as bee venom (BV) also known as apitoxin since 1000-3000 BC.
Bee Venom is a secretion from the venom gland of worker bees that is supposed to have a defensive function against predators. It is an odorless and colorless liquid consisting of 88% water and only 0.1 μg of dry matter, and we now know this because of Microbiology,.... the study of the biology at microscopic levels.
Microbiology started in 1857, but significant advances in the field have occurred in the last three years because of new technology with Centrifuges, Microscopes, Colony Counters, and Spectrophotometers.
Which have opened a whole new era with Bee Venom being realized as a rich source of secondary metabolites, such as: peptides, including melittin, apamin, mast cell degranulating peptide (MCD) or adolapin, enzymes such as phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and hyaluronidase, as well as amino acids and volatile compounds. And this new information tells us Bee Venom has all the components to not only cure cancers, but prohibit them from starting by taking supplements before you get cancer,..... like when we put sunscreen on our skin so the sun's ultraviolet and UV rays won't damaging the skin's melanin causing damage to skin cells we call sunburn.
Don't get this wrong, we have been studying Bee Venom since the 1950's, but it wasn't until the 1980 that anyone thought Bee Venom had anti-cancer properties. And from 2013 to 2023 we have actually seen how it works to starve-out and kill cancer cells in the laboratory.
The list of types of cancer Bee Venom is being tested for is long, but a few are breast Cancer, Leukemia, TNBC, Lung Cancer, Glioblastoma, Pancreatic cancer, Colon cancer, Cervical cancer, Hepatocellular carcinoma, Gastric cancer, Hodgkin Lymphoma, Malignant melanoma, ........ and on, and on, and on.
Are Honey bees going to turn out to be humanities saviours?
Will Bee products be the new cure-all for human beings?
Will we realize this before we wipe out the honey bee with global warming?
Your Votes can make a change, because the Green party is the only political party that wants to further investigate the Honey Bee and it's cures for humanity. Not the republicans, and not the democrats, because their support is on treatments side of cancer, not cures, because treatments bring in much more money,........ once you are cured they lose money!
It's your government they tell you, so vote to push the human race forward, and vote independent Green Party.

Bees have two stomachs: one for their food and another, known as the crop, where they store the nectar they collect from flowers. This nectar is the main ingredient that is then turned into honey. Bees have provided us with essential products for hundreds of years such as honey, pollen, royal jelly, wax and apitoxin, all rich in nutrients and beneficial for health.

Defensive girls! I opened up the feeder box to change out their healthy honey jar and the gals were amazingly defensive. Since it was so cold, they didn't fly; but instead they simply stuck their beehinds straight up and poked out their stingers! I watched in awe as I saw apitoxin drip out of the stingers on them. This little bee was still on the lid of the old jar when I pulled it out, so I got a few pics of her with her stinger out. She warmed up enough to fly while I was taking pictures in the sun, so she popped me on the ear. Not fun at all. They are very productive bees but they are exceptionally mean. When I split them in the spring, I'll be putting one of my Strong queens in there instead of letting them re-queen themselves. They are so mean it's almost funny. They are like cute and fluffy yellowjackets that make honey.
