Arewn sat across from you, your eyes glued to the book you’d been studying for the past three weeks. You had asked her for a favor and she happily agreed without listening, she was very patient with you and didn’t question why you wanted to learn Elvish but she knew. It just made her happy you and her father were getting closer and closer. She hadn’t seen him happy for quite some time.

“What is the Elvish word for trust?” She asked, watching you closely as you tapped your finger on the wooden table and flipped through the pages. “It starts with an E.” She gave you a hint after a couple of moments of silence.

“E… E… Estel!” You spoke proudly, only for her to shake her head and laugh lightly. “It’s not?”

“No, it’s Estellio.” You huffed and closed the book, running your fingers through your hair in frustration. “You’ve been studying non-stop. I can see the dark circles that form under your eyes, I hear you through the halls. What’s wrong?”

You fumbled over your words, your eyes wandering around the room, and forming noncoherent sentences. Her hands come to clasp your hands together. “You know you can tell me anything? If you are having any troubles then you know I can take care of it.” She said rather sternly which was unusual for Arwen.

“It’s not like that.” You quickly corrected which made her relax. “I… I’m just worried about what Elrond thinks of me.”

“Why? Did something happen-” She froze for a moment. “You know he loves you. I know it. It may not be my place to say it but I know it’s true. But if you are thinking of this, please, talk to him. I know he will put your mind at ease.” She smiled.

Before you could say anything else in paranoia, she snatched the book from your reach and shoo’ed you off. You walked out of the library and slowly walked to your shared bedroom. A walk that usually took you no less than a few minutes to nearly a half hour.

You were trying to put the conversation to the side but remembered how smart Elrond was, then the next ten minutes were trying to find ways to bring it up with him. And with a deep breath, you entered the bedroom and saw him standing on the balcony of the room.

“M-Meleth nîn?” You whispered, your voice wavering slightly.

He turned to face you with a wide smile. “Your Elvish is getting better.” He walked towards you, wrapping his arms around you, and placed a kiss on your forehead. “We should celebrate, what do you think?”

“...Can we talk?” The seriousness in your voice was enough to startle him, but he collected himself and nodded. “Look, I need you to just listen until I finish, please?”

“Of course.”

“I know that Elves are immortal, and you lived so many more lives than me, more than I can count. And I’ve seen how proud you are of yourself, how everyone speaks so highly of you. It just makes me think that I’ll only be a memory.”

His hands come to your shoulder, tightly. “Is this how you feel?”

“I know I should’ve come to you immediately but I was scared.” You sobbed when he pulled you into a tight hug. “I’m sorry.” You cried into his chest.

“Do not apologize, as someone who is supposed to be fairest and wisest, I let this go right past me. I should’ve known how this would affect you. Please, tell me anything, everything. I don’t want you to ever be afraid to speak your mind.”

“I know you love me, Elrond. But I’m just so scared of the future. For you. I don’t want you to see me as not as smart as you because of our differences.”

“My love for you is not desire or infatuation, and it will never be one-sided. You have done so much for me, and I would never deem you to be a memory if you were gone. I admire you so much, I am proud of you. Not everyone can master Elvish and even attempting is difficult. Please, do not let your worries affect how you feel. Come to me and we’ll talk.”

You closed your eyes and nodded, letting out a cracked okay under your breath. You held him close, tight, but no longer afraid or scared. You felt relaxed in his arms.

“I love you Elrond.”

“I love you too, (Y/n). Even in the afterlife, I’ll find you and continue to love you.”

I did not. Once in a while when I transfer from Grammerly back to Google docs it doubles down on me. I usually notice before transferring to patreon.

I think there is some criticism to be said about The Hobbit in terms of plot and writing, but I always raise a brow when there’s criticism of Galadriel vs. Sauron. This was very similar to how fandom tore apart Arwen saving Frodo instead of Glorfindel. Yall’s sexism is very obvious. In a narrative where women are struggling to exists outside of the untouchable characterization that Tolkien gave them, giving them instances in which they are incredibly powerful compared to their masculine counterparts is super important. 

Galadriel repelled Sauron by herself. She called him “Servant of Morgoth” thus disrespecting Morgoth too. She refused to show him any sort of respect. And not just him, the other Nagzul too. That’s pretty fucking powerful considering that he’s a corrupted Maia and learned at the hands of Morgoth. Again, I feel like this was her way of getting vengeance for her brother, Finrod. She prevailed where he couldn’t. 

Galadriel could break the binds of the perfect, peaceful woman Tolkien tied her to. She could be angry. Angry protective and angry vengeful and it wasn’t a bad thing. 

Arwen put herself in between Frodo and the Nagzul alone. Think about the history she has with orcs, think about her mother. Now think about how brave she was facing them by herself.

A Merlin fanbook!

Hello! I’m lp and I’m looking for Merlin fans willing to help make Resurrection come to life!

What is Resurrection?

Resurrection is an idea to create a Fanthology book for merlins upcoming 10 year anniversary! This is the mission statement. “ Resurrection is to rekindle the Merlin fandom with a group project and to bring new and old fans together and work towards a goal of creating a book by fans for fans. Also, because it's times like ours that we need our one and true king back.”

What is a Fanthology book?

A Fanthology book is a Fan Anthology book. It’s basically a compilation of fanworks.(Including writing and art!) All the content is under a certain theme. Our theme is “BBC Merlin”.

What do you need help with?

Currently, I need other people to help moderate and organize this book project. I’m looking for people who love Merlin and have the time to spare for this project.It's going to be time-consuming, and a huge responsibility. I will need help formatting the book, creating buzz around the book, creating a Kickstarter, making graphics, and etc. If you're not sure you can help by being a moderator, you can definitely help in different ways!

People are comparing jon's group with the fellowship of the ring and all I could think about was when you compared Jon and Aragorn and omg you were SO right, the similarity gets more clear as his story progresses. Do you think there are other characters or storylines similar or vaguely inspired by Tolkien?

I’m so sorry for the time it took for me to answer this, but yes. Absolutely.

I think Arya has many elements of both Arwen and Eowyn, for an example (and I guess this is the obvious one).

Jon grew up in Eddard’s household, meaning he grew up with Arya, who has the traditional Stark’s looks. She has a long face, fair skin, dark brown hair, grey eyes, and this is basically the description of Lady Arwen. As I said before, Aragorn is something like middle aged Jon, while Arwen is definitely an adult version of Arya. We must also remember that Aragorn grew up in Elrond’s household, where he met and fell in love with Arwen. So Jon x Arya and Aragorn x Arwen’s backgrounds are basically the same, along with their looks (Eddard = Elrond, Arwen = Arya...Even the first letters of the names match in this). Arwen means “Noble Maiden” in Sindarin, while Arya means “Noble” in Sanskrit. Arwen is said to look like a famous deceased relative named Luthien, just like Arya looks like Lyanna.  Aragorn and Arwen were also related, just like Jon and Arya.

I would also like to remember that in the book, although they spend most of the time kept apart, Aragon never stops thinking about Arwen and the love he bares for her. Arewn is also the main motivation for Aragorn to fight against Sauron, and later claim his place as King. No one can say that Jon doesn’t think about Arya all the time. I literally underlined every time they think of each other along the books and there’s no doubt that they love each other (the kind of love is up to you to decide). Arya also served as a motivation for Jon to forsake his vows to the Night’s Watch and march to WInterfell.

So...As you can see the similarities are not that vague at all XD.

Arya’s similarities with Eowyn would be more in terms of personality and martial skills, since Eowyn is a very outspoken lady, with a taste for sword fighting.

Diathi: When a few years ago, Valdez her brother revealed the truth  of  Carnell and Arewn to her. Both had fallen to nightmare, the latter  faking her death, the former trying to twist Diathi into falling. She had to step back  and choose who to belive. Valdez or Carnell.  She chose Valdez and dream over Carnell.
