Sage didn't even try to hide his attraction to Ari given the other's shown interest. On top of that, he really just wanted to be as honest as he could be (he knew that in some cases it wasn't the best idea to say all that was on his mind), he wasn't scared of taking the L in case his friend just wanted them to remain as friends (though he couldn't consider that an L either).
