Tell us about your Isen x Evie brainrot

To fit the themes of UnOrdinary, it would make sense that, maybe not right away, but later on, there's one of the most powerful students ending in a relationship with a low tier. Remi and Blyke are together or will be, Sera and John is all but acted, and i dont see Arlo with anyone, and anyway i dont think he would get with a low tier even now that he's changed sides. (Or Arlo x Elaine if we really want to work with teased crushes, tho not on arlo's side again)

But Isen isnt teased with anyone yet, except to have a slight crush on Remi at the beginning, which isnt likely to happen now that she's with Blyke.

So Isen could end up with a lower level, it would fit the themes. Since he had a crush on remi, his type seems to be the assertive, confident girls, with a pinkish-shade of hair.

But he also almost died as a vigilante and he'd probably be happier with a girl who isnt running headfirst in situations.

Who is a low tier with dark pink hair and some confidence but also caution? Evie.

Now let's study the problem from Evie's point of view. She has multiple male friends (Terrence, Dylan, Roland...) none of which are teased with her. I dont think her female friends are teased with her either so let's pretend, for this thought experiment, she's into boys.

She's one of the smartest pupils in Wellston (word of god established it) and she's loyal to a fault (sticking with Sera when she's getting beaten up). But on top of that, she is brave enough to actually get into the whole Safe House establishment. She voted for John to be able to come on the trip, etc. Her character arc since the beginning, much more than that of similar characters (Dylan, Roland, Illena and the other low and mid tiers) has been to stop fearing the high-tiers.

Which is why, re: themes of how it's bad to isolate the tiers from each other, I think if there is a "mixed-tiers" couple at the end of the comics, she'll be one half of it.

And while his tracker ability makes him srtonger than the average, it's not an offensive ability on its own, so Isen is maybe the least threatening of the elite-and-more-tiers in school. So if Evie ends up having a crush on one of the top 10, I can imagine him to be the one she would actually dare to go to and ask out. He's the safest best even if no one that powerful is really safe.

Anyway she is a bit of the narrative mirror of Isen: both are the smartest person in their group (Isen can crack into restricted files and Evie is one of the smartest people in school); both have a more muted hair colour than one of the strongest people in school (desaturated yellow unlike the bright gold of Arlo; desaturated purple unlike the bright purple of Sera) and these muted colours, yellow and purple, are complimentary; both are the weakest person in their group and feel bad about not being able to protect people (Evie is 1.5 and one of the weakest students in school and wanted to learn how to protect herself via martial arts; Isen's ability is useless to fight and he constantly tried to get out of the whole vigilante/civil insurrection thing until pushed to make a stand).

On top of that, with Sera and the Safe House bridging the divide, Evie and Isen now have common friends and acquaintances. And Evie has started gravitating towards Blyke Remi and Isen with the field trip storyline etc.

If we leave the dominion of canon and themes, I just think they'd suit each other so well because I've decided so. The made up versions of them I have in my mind would go well together. Also can you imagine post-canon Isen and Evie, him a journalist, her a politician representing the low-tiers, or something, both still gravitating in the same circles as his elite-tiers friends and family but also bridging the gap with her low-tiers friends and family? Their dinner table being the place where people of all tiers have their place?

That being said, for now Isen's strongest relationships are friends (Blyke and Remi) and that suits me perfectly. I wouldn't mind either of them finishing the series singles, particularly if the series ends before they are out of high school.

Okay so my ankle is having issues which means I can't pace around when I'm doing fandom brainrot stuff so here I am typing out my brainrot instead.

One of the things about UnOrdinary that gets me is just how fragile the hierarchy system is, and how the authorities need to do some pretty shady stuff just to keep it alive. Like, I think it's taken for granted that "oh, authorities bad, of course they're doing shady shit," but like … if they didn't, the system would collapse all by itself, no need for the conflict in the story.

Let me explain.

(A note to those not familiar with UnOrdinary – it's a world where superpowers are common, and "cripple" is used to refer to those without superpowers. I'm not trying to be ableist, and I don't think the webcomic is, either, as the term is used to highlight the toxic way of thinking that exists in the world.)

One of the things that gets addressed in John's corruption arc is that the different tiers don't interact much with each other. Like, god tiers will interact with high tiers, high tiers will interact with god tiers and elite tiers, elite tiers will interact with high tiers and mid tiers, etc, but you don't usually get high tiers interacting with low tiers. The whole system is supposed to basically be a pyramidal structure, where god tiers police high tiers, high tiers police elite tiers, all the way down. We see this in the beginning, when everyone is so scandalized by Sera (a god-tier) being best friends with John (who the believe to be a cripple.)

We see this in how John is completely able to call out Remi on how lower tiers are abused and high tiers doing nothing about it. We see this in Remi being surprised to notice that John is right, that she wasn't noticing what was going on on the lower tiers despite trying to be conscientious about making sure everyone's behaving. We see this in how Elaine thinks that the reason Sera isn't acting "properly" is Sera's friendship with a lower tier. We see this in how low tiers shy away from X-Rei even though she just saved them, because they don't trust high tiers.

Even our heroes, even the ones who aren't John, have problematic behavior when it comes to interacting with lower tiers. While John is partially using other people's bad behavior as an excuse for his own, he's still right when he points out that Blyke shot laser beams at him for snapping at Remi, that Isen broke his wrist just because he could. You especially see this with Elaine; the first thing we know about her is that she degraded John for being a cripple, and in the beginning arc she's the one who sets things off by pointing out the taboo friendship of a god-tier and a "cripple" to Arlo. Arlo himself literally comes to the conclusion that John isn't a cripple or a low tier because John isn't afraid of him – and he's so invested in the hierarchy system at that point that he doesn't see a problem with that logic.

In later chapters, we find out that Jane's family disowned her because she married a cripple. By this point we've kind of been trained to think this is normal in the UnOrdinary world, what with people being so taken aback by Sera and John being friends, but like …. this is actually a pretty major indicator of how closed off the tier system is. Jane was disowned because she chose to start a family with someone of a much lower tier than her. Her family don't even seem to know she's missing, because they won't listen to her cripple husband when he comes to them to give them information. I actually doubt they even know John exists.

And we get more subtle hints during John's corruption arc that this isn't normal. All the high tier characters are taken aback by John's behavior, and multiple times they say "didn't his parents teach him about the responsibilities of a high tier?" No one even poses the possibility that he didn't have a high tier parent around to learn from – which is exactly what happened. John became super powerful super quickly. In normal circumstances, since abilities are genetic, they would have a parent who could step in and discipline them and teach them how to use their powers responsibly, but John doesn't have that. His cripple father is at a loss of what to do, his low tier friends can't do anything, and it's implied that he started to even surpass the staff members at his school. And his mom's family can't intervene because they disowned his mom and probably don't know he exists.

John's existence, by itself, breaks the hierarchy system. He's the child of a god tier and a cripple, and the system literally doesn't know what to do with him. I actually have a theory that the other "late bloomers" mentioned during John's "reeducation" courses were also children of high tiers + low tiers, which would explain why their abilities developed late, and makes the already dark "late bloomers like you are doomed to failure" even more horrific. Any product of a union that breaks the system is deemed a "failure," because no one wants to admit that the system itself is flawed.

Late bloomers also pose a huge problem to the system. They go through a period of time where people think that they're lower tier than they actually are, so they get treated like they're a low tier – and low tiers get treated horribly. Low tiers and cripples are at the bottom of a system that literally punches down, and they're told the abuse and negligence and everything else they suffer is because they aren't strong. Might makes right. Low tiers aren't taught about the noblesse oblige that high tiers are, because no one thinks they need it, so when they get abused for their tier status they think "this is just how things are supposed to be." So what happens when someone who lived in that situation suddenly becomes a high tier? Probably something similar to what happened with John. They've only seen the worst sides of high tiers, so they think that's how they can and should act.

A side note, but I think John's inability to listen to people is actually a product of his being considered a "cripple." It was a defense mechanism. When everyone was telling him he was weak, that he deserved to be beaten down, that that was his place, it allowed him to go, "no, I'm not listening to that, I know I deserve basic dignity." However, once he became powerful and it got to his head, what was once a defense mechanism became a major flaw. Now, instead of people telling him he's weak and deserves what he gets, what he's not listening to is all of his loved ones saying "John, please stop, you're scaring us."

It's also worth noting that William's attempts to teach his son the responsibilities of a high tier creates a huge disruption to society. All the man does is write a book to show John the possibilities of what someone could do with their power, and it's enough to make his book get banned, have students suspended for being caught reading it, for teenagers to get put on watch lists for having it in their possession. And it's not the responsibilities part that the authorities have a problem with, it's how the book encourages high tiers to protect and listen to low tiers. It disrupts the rigid system they put in place to stop the hierarchy from breaking down. It unintentionally causes high tiers to become vigilantes, because they realize that the system they live in doesn't allow them to protect lower tiers. One book, written by a cripple in an attempt to help his god tier son, is enough to make the authorities panic.

The relationship between Jane and William was also unique enough that the authorities were able to use it to exploit Jane. We get some major hints that the way Jane was "captured" and experimented on was through coercion, not force. Jane is too powerful for anyone to threaten directly, but they were able to manipulate her by threatening William and John. Because of that, the authorities were able to start using her blood to try and develop new ways of making their own agents stronger, which is part of what sets the more overarching plot elements in motion.

Once, I was told that all stories either are stories where someone leaves home or someone new arrives, but the fact is it's not the leaving or arrival that really defines stories – it's the disruption to the status quo. That's what Jane and William's relationship is. That's what John is, by merely existing. A god tier is not supposed to fall in love and marry a cripple. A god-tier isn't supposed to be raised by a cripple, or to be treated as a cripple growing up. They broke the status quo just by living their lives.

John, Jane, and William literally needed to expend little to no effort to become a major problem for the authorities. So what do the authorities do? They blackmail Jane, they torture John, they develop new ways to be powerful and use them against high tiers that try to break the system. Their system is so incredibly fragile that they feel like they must do it, because they can't maintain "order" by playing by the rules.

Seraphina wonders why you even date the guy. She always tells Arlo to check himself before he wrecks himself

Even before you were dating, Holden still thought you were going out and always mentions it when he thinks you two are acting odd.

"Oh, did you two fight again?"

"Aah, another lover's quarrel."

"Do you mean you think it's awkward being on a date and there's a third wheel?"

You were friends before dating, I don't think he would date someone without getting to know them first.

Before dating, you would still take his clothes and he gave them if you were a mess

Elaine's red-faced and so confused because you made a joke over him being your ex

He can cook and lives on his own, so he always checks if you broke into his fridge

Whenever he sees you being unhealthy, he just takes it away and makes you a meal

He wakes up sometimes and finds you slept over, so he'll make breakfast for you too, when you're there

You had no idea you were dating until he's suddenly holding your hand and everyone is like "he's been your boyfriend for two months????"

When you realized;

"You like me? For my personality?"

"I was surprised too."

Embarrassed over romantic gestures, but likes holding hands

Is so confused on what to do, but pretends like he knows what he's doing. He really doesn't. Help him, he just gave you homemade hummus with pickles

Rei mentioned he might do something like "Full Arlo", which is his theory that Arlo can fall too in love, and do crazy stuff. Like writing poems, spoonfeed, buying expensive tickets, being gooey, and book a couple's cruise over the summer just because

When you ask him about it, he's just-

"Do I look like I have money for cruises?"

"Honestly, kinda?"

So it's an unknown, he didn't really deny it

When you got hair gel for him to try, you brought it to him, and he threw it out his balcony

He's fashionable, so if you come out with mismatched clothes, he'll pretend not to know you. Or push you back and throw clothes at you

He secretly likes mango boba a lot, so when he asks if you can come back with coffee, you just get him boba. Never complains

Students don't bug you because they're terrified of him. If you're strong, scared of both of you

You live in the dorms and pets aren't allowed. Arlo takes care of your pet fish at his place

He doesn't tell you about his plans with John, and only realize when John targets you and sends you to the hospital with the rest of them

When he's tired or stressed out, he physically leans on you or looks at past messages

Dude barely ever apologizes, and is too embarrassed to say it. Fumbles, shoves stuff in your face, tiny scribbled letters, and tiny trinkets. He's too nervous to actually say it to your face

Always teases you and pinches cheeks a lot

When you actually fight as a couple, Arlo is grumpy. Then Holden pops up

Always Led Back to You Chapter 3, a John Doe/Seraphina from UnOrdinary fanfiction

Hey guys so this chapter is going to be different in some ways to the original episode to suit the story so don’t take this all as canon. I’ve also added some stuff as well.

Trigger warning so slight assault. Nothing major or anything just wanted to put a warning just in case.

Twelve-year-old Seraphina angrily wiped her tears as she sat on her bed, in her room. She hated it here in this house. Mother and Father were always cold and unloving. They made her feel more like a doll than a person. Someone they can play with how they please and throw away when they were bored.

Her stomach grumbled, and she rubbed it to soothe it. Mother had forbidden her to eat all day, as punishment for getting one point less than a perfect score on her test. She said until Seraphina got perfect scores in everything, she would be limited food.

Seraphina laid down on her bed, curling up to try and stop the incessant hunger. She hoped she would fall asleep soon—then maybe the hunger wouldn’t hurt anymore.

A slight noise caught her attention, and Seraphina crept towards her window where she heard tapping. She opened the curtains and a smile spread on her features.

“Leilah!” Seraphina cried, opening the window, allowing her sister to climb in.

“Sssh Seraphina, not so loud. Mother and Father have ears all over the place.” Leilah whispered. Seraphina nodded, going forth to check if anyone heard her exclamation. Using her ability, she was pleased no one knew of Leilah’s arrival.

“Sister, I’ve missed you.” Seraphina whispered. Leilah embraced her younger sister.

“I’ve missed you as well. Mother has been keeping us apart it seems.”

“She says she’s worried I’m taking after you…” Seraphina confessed. Leilah frowned.

“Yes, God forbid both her daughters are not perfect.” Leilah rolls her eyes.

“I want to leave, Leilah…” Seraphina tells her older sister.

“Soon…. I promise we’ll be gone from here soon and this will all be an ugly memory.” Leilah vowed, gently stroking Seraphina’s hair. “But for now…” Leilah grins, showing her prize, and Seraphina can’t help but grin in excitement.

“Food!” Seraphina whispers in glee. She wastes no time taking the food and consuming it. Leilah watches her sister with a serene smile.

“Ha, if Mother could see you now. She’d be horrified at you eating like a savage.” Leilah teases.

“What Mother doesn’t know won’t hurt her.” Seraphina talks with her mouth full and Leilah laughs.

“Oh Seraphina, Mother has no idea of what a little gremlin you are.” Leilah grins.

“So…” Seraphina takes a seat on her bed, Leilah joins her. “You said you were talking to some people…”

“Yes, I have to see if they’re willing to take us. I’ll hear from them soon.” Leilah tells her.

“What if they won’t take us?” Seraphina fretted. Leilah poked her forehead.

“They’ll take us. I promise. I’m not leaving without you.” Leilah smiles.

Seraphina clenches her fists, trying to remain calm, but a hurricane was swirling inside her. Leilah sees them and approaches their table, and every step she takes, Seraphina feels more ice run through her veins.

“Seraphina… you didn’t come alone.” Leilah finally speaks. Arlo watches between them, noting his friend’s tense posture and the woman’s sad eyes.

“You know each other.” It’s not a question he says to Leilah.

“Seraphina.” Leilah ignores Arlo, her eyes only for the magenta haired girl. “Your hair’s different. You always used to wear it up.”

“I’m not twelve anymore, Leilah.” Seraphina nearly spat, but she kept her composure, barely.

“That’s true. You aren’t.” Leilah agrees calmly, taking a seat.

“What are you doing here, Leilah?” Seraphina bites. Leilah doesn’t appear bothered by Seraphina’s tone.

“I’m the person who you’re supposed to meet.” Leilah told her. Her eyes then finally drift to Arlo. “Although, you weren’t supposed to bring anyone.”

“He stays.” Seraphina growls. Arlo has never seen her like this—like a wild beast ready to tear her enemy apart. It reminds him of John and his rage.

“What I have to say is for your ears only, Seraphina.” Leilah calmly, but sternly, states.

“I don’t trust you. You’ve broken promises before.” Seraphina hisses.

“Seraphina, calm down.” Arlo advises her, keeping his eyes on everyone else, making sure they are not drawing attention. “You remember what you said about keeping cool? You need to do that now, more than ever.”

“He’s right, Seraphina. If you start yelling, you’ll draw attention, and we can’t be noticed.” Leilah tells her.

“I’m not even sure I want to do this anymore.” Seraphina says firmly. “I have no reason to trust you.”

“Leilah! I’m ready! Let’s go!” Seraphina arrives with her backpack. Leilah had told her before the people were ready to take them. She was finally free of this place! Leilah said to just be in her room at night and they’d leave.

The room was empty. Seraphina furrowed her brow, looking around.

“Leilah? Where are you?” Seraphina whispered. She examined her sister’s room, noticing her belongings and clothes were gone.

A breeze caught her attention, and Seraphina turned towards the window that was ajar, blowing the curtains.

“Leilah…?” she stared at the window, before looking back at the missing belongings. Dread filled her. “Leilah!” she choked, racing towards the window.

She could not see anyone for miles. Dread filled her entire being and she dropped to her knees.

Leilah was gone. And she left without her.

“I wish we had more time, Seraphina.” Leilah said mournfully. “I would tell you everything and tell you I’m sorry over and over… but we don’t have that time.”

“Then why should I stay?” Seraphina asked.

“Because.” Here Leilah was determined. “Because I’m going to get you your powers back.”

Elaine paced back and forth, wringing her hands together.

“They’re still not back yet…” Elaine glanced at the clock, and her anxiety increased. “What should I do?”

If Arlo and Seraphina were attacked, it would only be Arlo fighting. And if Arlo got defeated, Seraphina would be defenseless.

“I have to do something! I can’t wait here any longer!” Elaine exclaimed. She put on her shoes and began formulating a plan. “I need Isen and Remi! Maybe I can heal Blyke really quick too!”

However, before she could fetch her intended targets, she slammed into someone.

“S-Sorry!” Elaine yelled out, not noticing who she bumped into in her haste. Yet, she was soon sobered when someone grabbed her.

“Oh? Sorry’s not going to cut it, Elaine.” Zeke grinned maliciously. Elaine’s heart stopped. Of all the people she could have bumped into…

“I said I was sorry, Zeke. Please excuse me.” Elaine tried to dissuade him from escalating the conflict. She needed to help her friends. Nevertheless, Zeke tightened his grip, making her wince.

“And I said sorry’s not good enough, Elaine.” Zeke grinned, eyeing her up and down. “I might let it slide if maybe we could spend some time together though.”

Elaine felt her stomach drop, knowing what he really meant.

“Let me go! I don’t have time for this!” Elaine exclaimed. She was then slammed against the wall.

“Rejecting the King’s right hand man, eh? You think you’re too good for me cause you like Arlo?” Zeke growled, readying one of his hands to stroke her thigh. Elaine wanted to throw up. “I’ll show you what happens when you cross the King’s authority!”

However, before Zeke could continue, he was knocked out cold. Elaine opened her eyes, and they promptly widened when she realized who exactly helped her.

“Get out of my sight before I do the same to you.” John told her firmly, malice in his eyes.

“John…” Elaine whispered. She gulped, beginning to shake. John saved her, but he was still volatile. However, John was stronger than Arlo, and Seraphina would need all the help she could get.

“John! Seraphina’s in trouble!” Elaine cried before she could even question the ramifications of her decision. “She’s went to meet some people at a café called Lovun! I think it’s the same people who stole her ability! I tried to stop them, but they wouldn’t listen and they’re still not back!”

“Stop yammering. It’s annoying.” John dismissed her. He turned and walked away. “It’s not my problem.”

Elaine felt numb as she watched him walk away.

“You really don’t care about her, do you…?” Elaine whispered. Her eyes became enraged and she stood up, clenching her fists. “Even after everything you’ve done, she still cares about you! She still sees you as her friend!”

John stopped walking. He still didn’t turn around.

“You don’t deserve it!” Elaine cried angrily. “I remembered how you looked at her! You can’t tell me you didn’t have feelings! You can’t say you don’t still have—”

John promptly punched her.

“You don’t deserve Seraphina’s love!” Elaine coughed. She then brushed past him, nose bloodied, yet bold enough to knock shoulders with him. She refused to be afraid of him. She had to save Seraphina and Arlo.

John stood in the hallway; fists clenched so tight his palms bled.

“Arlo… can you give us a minute?” Seraphina finally spoke. Arlo glanced at her, shocked.

“Are you serious?” he asked her.

“We’re in a crowded area. And like Leilah said, we don’t want to attract attention. She’s not here to fight.” Seraphina explained.

Arlo stared at her, before glancing at the purple haired woman, who appeared solemn, and then drawing his attention to Seraphina again. He sighed.

“Five minutes, and I’ll be at a nearby table.” Arlo acquiesced. He then turned to Leilah. “You try anything, or she looks uncomfortable, I’m coming right back. Understand?”

“Of course.” Leilah replied smoothly. With that, Arlo took his coffee to a nearby table. With him gone, Leilah and Seraphiina were able to give each other their full attention. “Boyfriend?”

“You have no right to ask or know anything about my life.” Seraphina told her. “He said five minutes. Don’t waste it with small talk.”

“Alright, I’m sorry. I’ve just missed you.” Leilah admitted. “I wish we were meeting under better circumstances.”

“You left me behind.” Seraphina didn’t pull any punches.

“Yes, and if we had more time, I would tell you how sorry I am, but we do not.” Leilah replied calmly.

“Then get on with it.” Seraphina ordered tersely.

“For starters, I called you here today because I’m partially the reason you are now a cripple.” Leilah began. “My organization, Spectre, has developed a drug that robs people of their ability permanently. And, in my lack of foresight, I’ve left you vulnerable to the other half of my organization.”

“You…” Seraphina’s teeth and fists clenched. “You did this to me?”

“This was done to you because I wasn’t there. I was called away on an assignment and in this instance, because our organization has been divided into two factions, I’ve left you a sitting target for our other radical faction.” Leilah wasn’t bothered by Seraphina’s mounting anger, and if she was, she didn’t show it. “When I first found out you were being targeted, I ordered all personal to stay away from you. Sadly, because our organization is now divided and you are now a cripple, that warning was not heeded.”

“So now what? Am I supposed to thank you for trying to protect me?” Seraphina hissed.

“No. I’m here to help you.” Leilah said, she then reached into her pocket and produced a vial. “While the one half of our organization has been robbing those of their abilities, the half I’m apart of has been working on an antidote. This is the first sample we have.”

“An… an antidote?” Seraphina whispered, eyeing the vial is disbelief. Leilah nodded.

“Yes. However, it hasn’t been tested.” Leilah confessed. “I was hoping… if you were interested… if you would partake in testing it.”

“How do I know it will work?” Seraphina didn’t take her eyes off the vial.

“You don’t, but it’s the best chance you have right now.” Leilah told her.

Seraphina didn’t say anything. She couldn’t stop staring at the vial.

‘A chance to get back my ability. A chance to stop John…’ Seraphina thought.

“John’s priority was and has always been you” Arlo’s words drifted into her mind.

‘If I could just talk to him… one on one… no barriers… no fighting…’ Seraphina closed her eyes. ‘If I could just let him know I’m there… would he listen…?’

Seraphina finally prepared herself to give her answer. Opening her mouth, she was about to reply when suddenly she felt something in the air. From the looks of it, Arlo and Leilah felt it too.

“An ability dampener…” they whispered.

“We have to go. It appears I was followed after all.” Leilah was quick to decipher the situation. Arlo joined them quickly but made sure not to make a scene to incite a panic. “Follow me. We have to leave now.”

Seraphina and Arlo quickly followed Leilah to the back where the waitress and a co-worker were chatting. The two employees noticed them quickly and were confused.

“Hi, sorry ma’am, you’re not supposed to be back here.” The waitress voiced out her concern.

“Sorry, we’ll be on our way.” Leilah smiles and the three of them quickly make it to the back door, exiting before the employees of the café could cause a commotion. The door led into a back alleyway. “I have a car waiting for us in the front. Let’s move quickly.” Leilah beckons.

Suddenly, there is a swarm of people surrounding them. Seraphina knows right away this is the radical half of Leilah’s organization.

“You better come with us quietly, and don’t bother activating your ability. This dampener cuts your ability power by half.” The spikey haired guy told them, smirking.

“By half…?” Arlo whispered in shock.

“Yes, it’s one of our inventions.” Leilah confirms. Arlo wastes no time, and activates his ability, enclosing the three of them in a barrier. He could easily tell his barrier was indeed a lot weaker.

“Are you sure you can fight like this?” Leilah asked Arlo.

“As if I have a choice.” Arlo snips back. He and Leilah form a shield in front of Seraphina. Leilah observes her surroundings, trying to find any way they can get out of this. She takes a glance back at Seraphina.

‘Seraphina was a god-tier before her ability was taken…’ Leilah thinks, fingering the vial. A decision is made, and she hastily grabs a syringe, filling it with the vial’s contents.

“What are you doing?” Arlo is confused. Seraphina also wonders what Leilah is up to.

“Leilah—” before she could ask, Seraphina is grabbed by her sister, and injected with the liquid into her neck.

Immediately, everything gets blurry before going black. Seraphina can feel herself collapsing, vaguely registering Arlo catching her before she hits the ground, but it isn’t him she hears before she blacks out.

“SERA!!!!” John’s voice screams in her ears, and she feels a surge of power in the air.

‘John…?’ Seraphina voices in her mind. Everything’s going dark. She feels numb, like she can’t move. There’s an incredible power surging, getting closer and closer.

Then she feels warmth all around her. Someone’s holding her, screaming at her to stay awake.

It’s John. She can’t see him, but she hears him… but why does he sound so far away?

‘John…’ Seraphina finally feels at peace. ‘John, I’m so sorry. If I could do it over again…

…I’d make you my priority too.’

Then Seraphina couldn’t see, feel, or hear anything anymore.

There we go! That’s another chapter! Finally we can now get the ball rolling. Also, another fanfiction I have an idea for is a dark Jeraphina fanfiction where Elaine goes to John to help Seraphina during chapter 214 and John asks for a price. Turns out he meant Seraphina. It would kinda be a Beauty and the Beast or Hades and Persephone style kind of thing. Anyone interested?

My favorite arc is the House Invaders Arc: it was short, but in terms of character relationships and art it was my personal favorite. I think the way Arlo, John, and Elaine worked together (and John and Arlo's snarky comments) was very cool. Also loved the action.

Other favorites are the X-Rei Arc and the Cafe Ambush Arc!

LORE BITS

(to hnk and this au)

•gems are born from the ocean. literally. they pop out of the ocean preformed. Sensei (later named Adamant) is the one who “carves” them out to resemble humans. He teaches them everything and later assigns them a job. There will be a little canon divergence from that in this au but whatever

•is this au Headmaster Vaughn will take the role of Adamant, but he won’t half as close as a relationship to the main cast as Adamant had with the gems.

•gems do not bleed, eat, drink or any other body functions. they are rocks. they crack when they get hurt and when they are under extreme emotionally stress. they don’t even have genders. they can kinda cry by making the noises(only a few gems have the umm. “liquid” to physically cry tho). they also don’t sweat but if you see me drawing a sweat bead for an expression mind your fucking business.

•Gems get energy from the sun and normally hibernate through winter

•Gems live through their inclusions, (which are microscopic organisms in their bodies) they retain,all thoughts, memories, personality traits, therefore losing body parts also means losing memories and parts of themselves. These inclusion can pair with other types of gems but normally wont unless close hardness or same gemstone family.

•It won’t follow the plot of unordinary, but not exactly hnk either. I’ll added stuff into it to make it fit with uno but a lot of themes just. don’t go together. For example John cannot “hide his hardness” he’s just a diamond who isn’t allowed to fight at first.

•there are also other races in hnk besides gems. if at some point a character is not mention ever as a gem. they are either a lunarian(definitely aunt Val and Keon.) or an admirabilis (idk yet)

•the lunarians attack the gems periodically and try to break them and take them to to moon. they are the main antagonists of hnk and can pretty easily pick of gems with arrows. this is why gems fight/scout in pairs.

•keep in mind I can only explain so much of the world of hnk without getting to some spoilers. if that bothers you I suggest reading the manga(ITS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD)

• Also I should make this clear that the leveling system in hnk is NOT like the leveling system in unordinary. Gems with a higher hardness(or level) still normally do fight but lower hardness gems are treated well (in most case). Gems are closer to a family than an actual society but the characters still have their problems(I am once again asking you to read hnk)

John/Black was an imposter. One (1) impostor remains.

The recently ejected person's best friend blandly stared at the screen. Once she had processed the words, her face contorted into an expression of anger and betrayal.

Her shaking hand curled into a tight fist. She spent most of her time on the ship with the dark-haired male. They had been here for almost four days, and they had bonded; she felt deceived. Was he only using her as an alibi?

Sure he hasn't killed her, but, he would've done it afterwards since it would only be a matter of time. There are no friendships in this game.

She wanted to use her ability to turn back time and ask him. But, she shook her head with a weak laugh. "It isn't worth it," she whispered to herself.

After Elaine did her best to console the upset short-haired girl, we all went our way. The mentioned two leaving with the company of each other. I felt horrible for her. It isn't every day that your new best friend turns out to be a murderer.

I made my way to go to Admin with the guy in the yellow spacesuit, which I afterwards learned his name was Arlo, walking side-by-side. He wasn't very talkative was honestly quite distant and cold to everyone, but, I didn't want to wander alone, and that we both had a few tasks in Admin left for the day. We thought it would be convenient that we head there together. I will bet my life that he was safe; I watched him do the scanning task, and he hasn't done anything to be called "sus".

I'm sure he was still sceptical of me since I had no assigned tasks to prove my innocence. Not that I need it to show that I am just a mere defenceless crewmate.

We arrived at Admin quickly; it was near the cafeteria anyway. I jumped to do my work, and so did he.

I kneeled onto the ground; the blonde-haired guy was still seen in my peripheral view. I pulled out my ID card. Taking some info from talking to the other crewmates, they complained about how hard the card swipe was. I didn't think it would be that difficult. I mean, how hard can it be?

I unscrewed my helmet to make myself adjust to my comfort level, placing the headwear near me on the table. I started my job, readying the item needed.

Swipe! Too fast.

Swipe! Bad read.

Swipe! Too slow.

Taking a quick break after two failed ones, I sighed and continued with a whine.

Five attempts and the constant reminder of doing something wrong later, I was tired and annoyed with it. I slammed my fists on the hard metal surface which startled the boy who was performing his final task of the day.

"What's wrong?" He asked as looked over at my work station to see me sitting on the ground, slumped over.

"... I hate card swipe," I murmured.

I heard the subtle sound of zapping before hearing metal come into loud contact with metal.

"Get up."

I felt the sudden grip on my right shoulder, "Hey, stand up."

I looked up at him to see his sparkling blue eyes, taking notice that he had taken off his helmet too. His eyes are so pretty, I awwed. It was kinda stuffy in the suit, so I guess it was expected.

I followed his command and grabbed my wrist with my fingers wrapped around the card, "here." He guided my hand to help me with my work.

He coiled his hand around mine as I positioned the laminated piece of paper to do my thing. With one steady motion, the mission that took more than ten tries was completed.

"There. It wasn't that hard, right?" I gave him a sarcastic look, though he just ignored it.

"That was your last task?" I hummed in agreement.

We were caught off guard when the loud alarm rang through our ears, someone must've pushed the emergency meeting button. Without warning, I clutched his arm and set off to retreat back to the cafe, not wanting to be late. Arlo just quietly obeyed and sprinted with me.

I notice a person dressed in an orange spacesuit standing near the table, the red button left uncovered. He must be the one we called a meeting, I thought.

Soon the crewmates slowly arrived with their buddies and some alone. My eyes circled the room to see if everyone was present. Pink. Cyan. Red. Dark Blue. Green... Wait a sec, where's green?

Speaking of the devil, she appears to be the last to arrive. No, I'm not gonna call her suspicious just cause she the last to enter the room. That's a dick move.

"Who called the meeting?" Dark Blue, or Holden, spoke up.

Orange, or Isen, help up their covered hand, "I did."

"So, why?"

The orange-haired boy sighs, "It's Green."

Hearing their colour be brought up, Cecile glares at him in surprise. She seemed taken it back by his abrupt accusation, "excuse me...!?"

"Tell me, what's your alibi then?" Orange was acting more persuasive than usual.

The pink-eyed female growled at him, narrowing her eyes. A vibrant glint of pink visible from her irises, as if to indicate that she was powering up her ability. "I was at Med bay, doing my task like a responsible cremate should, unlike someone who's going around accusing people. What's your proof?" She looked somewhat agitated.

Isen imitated the girl's action, his glare was prominent, and an orange hue was projecting from his eyes. Both leant near, looking like they had the intent to harm the other. If they didn't have the madness in their eye, I would've thought they were gonna kiss.

Before the situation could escalate itself, a girl who was dressed in pink intruded and pushed them off of each other. "Getting angry and fighting won't resolve any of this!" She yelled.

At first, I thought Isen was just nervous. I kept noticing how fidgety he was every time I encountered him, that was just a mere observation. That didn't really come across as unusual since everyone else was acting the same. Honestly, I was beginning to become sceptical of him despite that I've no proof of him doing anything strange.

There's another impostor still on board? I thought. Could it be Orange...?

As if he was speaking my mind, Arlo stabs an allegation at Isen. "Isen, why are you so eager to vote someone without any evidence? That's extremely shady. If I were to be the judge, I'd think you're an imposter or either siding with them."

"Hey, man! He's not an imposter, he's been with Remi and I a lot of these days!" The redhead jumps to protect his friend.

"So did John," Sera said.

It didn't feel right to give more statements about what's happening since people were already arguing. Maybe being stuck in this ship with anyone being an alleged murderer was taking a toll on everyone's mentality. I yawned, I feel tired.

"None of what you people are saying mean anything! None of us knows each other personally. Don't be fucking stupid! We're all just strangers! We can buddy up with someone, but we can't be sure that they're fully safe to be with!" She inhales, pausing, "Look at John, you think someone could've known that he was gonna be the imposter?!" Cecile stayed silent once she finished with her rant. We did similarly.

"Let's just vote to skip for now."

And that's what we did.

This will only go two ways. Either with Arlo or with Isen. Btw, they’re all strangers here, if you haven’t caught on. They don’t know each other outside of this. This might get a part two if I become motivated enough to finish it:>
