Little Sky Bakery’s baked goods run large, like large enough to feed a family. I visited their stall inside the State Street Market and spotted loaves of bread (e.g., pain de mie, rye, olive rosemary sourdough, country sourdough, baguettes), sourdough scones, giant cookies, muffins, and sandwiches. Their breads are naturally leavened with wild yeast. The sandwiches are made with their bread.

Tofu & shiitake mando ($7): It’s like a thin-skinned, chewy bun/bao that’s been stuffed and pan fried till golden. The flavors were definitely Asian. The filling is like something you’d find in a dumpling: scallions, tofu, mushroom, ginger I think…really good and a great snack or a light meal. Ample filling!

Baked goods are baked fresh daily at the Menlo Park bakery. They also have a stall at various farmer’s markets.

From the award-winning Taiwanese bakery famed for its Lychee Rose Royale and Red Wine Longan breads - Wu Pao Chun Bakery (吳寶春麥方店) came this Cheesy Strawberry (草莓乳酪) bread. The savoury loaf of bread (S$14.80) has wine-soaked strawberry slices and honey cream cheese giving it bursts of tangy sweetness or creaminess depending on which you bite into.

In between bouncing between two fic projects, two original projects, I got obsessed with this no-knead everything bread recipe from King Arthur Flour, and made a weekend project of putting it together. Despite many trials and tribulations (the dough is super sticky and hard to work with, the bread got stuck to the sides of the dutch oven, and the crust cracked in my attempts to get it out), the loaf actually turned out well!

But I needed to show you all how comically large a single slice of toast is.

The monster looks like a gd mini baguette on the plate. Anyway, I have bread forever now (or however long it takes me to go through the slices I've carefully put away in the freezer). But this has also ignited my intrigue for other potential fun artisan loaves.

So, leading another group of my colleagues, we made our way through the underground shopping alley in Woodlands MRT Station TE2. I bought the same box of Assorted Cream Puffs (S$5.80) featuring two Originals, one each of Chocolate and Matcha.

This Kroger Artisan Style Market Mill Golden Honey Wheat Bakery Bread Slices as a honey peanut butter and red plum preserves sandwich was lightly salty and sweet with a light honey sweet taste from the sliced bread.

The red preserves gave the sandwich a light sweetness while tasting fresh and the creamy with crunchy honey peanut butters added a light sweet/salty to this PBJ.

The red plum preserves tasted fresh.

This was a little messy to eat when holding this artisan style market mill golden honey wheat bakery PBJ sandwich but was still tasty.

This was sweet and salty tasting but not overly of both.

I would eat this again.
