Destino: Well aren't you both cute. Aren't you afraid of predators? The walking icicle looks like they would snap like a twig with the slightest hit and, total offence, but Dolly Wally over here looks like they have no idea how to fight. Honestly, you'd probably be taken down in a second flat. Can you actually do anything or are you all just looks?

I don’t. Know? It’s an absol, but they don’t look… yknow…

Ohhhh…

Is that why you’re being rude, or are you provoking us as a way to have control over rejection from others? You don’t have to do that here, you know.

*Destino approached Lief, fully dressed in their sleeping gear. What had happened had been on their mind for a bit and they needed to get to the bottom of it. Pointing a finger into his chest, Destino began to speak in a curt tone.*

Destino: You. Explain what had happened earlier. I don't want a tauros-shit explanation. I know I can be terrifying when I need to be. That's just how amazing I am. But your reaction was something else. Talk.

Lief blinked slowly. He looked down at the finger poking his chest, then back at Destino's face. He raised both paws to slowly push down their claws.

Lief: "B... before you ask, because I kn-kn... know you will. Don't. It'ss nothin'. You hear me? Nothin'... nothin'."

His voice sounded considerably more slurred than just earlier, especially with the way he enunciated "nothing". His stance was so wobbly that it might take the lightest of breezes to completely knock him over.

Lief: "And, a-and... that stuff earlier? That... that other stuff? Also nothin'. I don' gotta tell you nothin'. Yeah? Nothin'... an' there's no way you will ever- ugh, hold on..."

He paused to hiccup. He shuddered, looking genuinely sick.

Lief: "Geez... a-anyways, there'ss... nno way you will, ever, make me. Honestly, even if I d-did-"

His knees buckled mid-sentence, and he again fell right on his face. He near completely went limp.

A louder, muffled hiccup came from him some moments later.

Lief: "Ow..."

sphaeramjourney asked: Gloria stumbled into Lief with a bizarre outfit. It does not bother the Lucario, but the drunkenness what concerns her. She magically summons out a cup of water and attempts to offer it to him. By the Lords, are you okay?! Who gave you that uniform? and you can't be going around looking like that, what if you get yourself hurt?! Here, have some water!

Another groan came from the Simbobeon. He now sounded a lot more depressed. With the amount of alcohol he just drank, it was inevitable that it'd hit him full force like this.

For yet more moments of awkward silence, he just lied there. He didn't bother trying to get back up, or even lift his head.

His state of mind and his usual inhibitions all but eroded, he proceeded to speak his mind for the first time since arriving here.

And without yelling at others or belittling them, to boot.

Lief: "I'm not ok... I'm a loser. A wimp. A fraud, a liar."

*Destino swaggered up to the group of Pokémon, confidently smug grin plastered on their face. They were ready to cause a little chaos.*

Destino: Wow, who decided to bring the odd squad together. I don't think I've ever seen a weirder bunch of Pokémon in a group before. Funny how friendship can form from being the misfits of Pokémon society. It's hilarious to me. Though I wouldn't be surprised if this whole friendship thing ended for you, considering how different you all are.

And are you having a picnic? Ha. Who decided that was a good idea?

“What the hell kind of loser just walks up to a group of people and insults them? Are you asking for a fight? Cause if you’re looking for an Energy Ball to the face, I’d be more than happy to give you one.”

*Hope approaches Shadow.* Hope: Hey. Are you ok? You seem quite nervous about something. You know, when I'm feeling worried, the thing I like to do is use music or fighting as a way to de-stress. You got any music you could listen to or anywhere to punch your feelings out?

"Oh, uh, music and fighting?" She thought a little bit, but she found herself stuck by the thought.

"I dunno where'd I'd do some fighting, but that still might just be my sibling's thing. She's much better at that than I've ever been." She laughed a bit, but it was too obvious it was a bit forced. "Maybe I can find some music though!" Shadow's face lit up for a moment.

"Oh, there's some music I like! One of the good labcoats had this DVD that brought with them sometimes."

"Though where would I find that DVD..."

"This may not be what you are wishing for, but there are some concert venues that you can visit, if you desire to know their location."

"Oh- it's okay! I can check tomorrowwwwwww-" The Eevee yawned toward the end.

"Of course. Though, forgive me, but do you need to head back?"

"Oh, no, not yet!" She yawned again.

“While I did say that I don’t believe myself fit to raise them on my own, I do feel comfortable doing it with the help I have." He explained. "I am one of their many guardians, not their parents. While I am an adult figure in their lives, I am also a friend and confidant. I would not ever dream of giving them away. Apologies if my wording wasn’t clear on that one.”

No matter how he loathed to admit it, Vourison saw a bit of his younger self in this Absol. A version brasher, even crueller. He didn't want Destino to repeat his own foolish mistakes, so he chose to continue speaking, despite a part of him yelling not to, to end the conversation now and leave the other pokemon be.

He only prayed his advice did not fall on deaf ears.

“However, I think the problem that, not just you, but many others have is that they struggle to see children as people. Sure, they are small and ignorant, but they are people. Reflecting upon yourself and deciding you wouldn’t be fit to raise a child is fine and healthy, in fact I commend you for it! However, if all you see is a disaster and tantrum waiting to happen, and refuse to engage with any critical thinking on why they act the way they do, then it’s going to negatively effect how you perceive them, and your people, overall.”

“Now, this isn’t meant to be an attack on yourself or anything. I applaud your maturity when it comes to knowing yourself, but a bit of reflection would probably do you some good. I've had this same problem in the past. I used to detest children. It's taken me quite a bit of time to break myself out of that mindset, but I am all the better for it."

Vourison paused at that last comment, noting the slight bitterness. “Well, since I don’t know the situation in depth, I can’t give any specific advice. But, if you cherish this friend, if you cared for them? I suggest you ask them why they kept that secret, have a real and meaningful conversation. Once all the details are laid out, then judge for yourself if that reason was good or not. It can be hard to lose someone you’re close with to conflicts like these, so if it can be prevented, you should at least try."

"This is all just my advice though. You can take it or leave it." Please don't leave it. "In any case, I do hope you repair your relationship if possible.”

Destino: If it isn't bugaboo himself. You know, I love the lack of sleepwear you possess. Really going fully rebellious with this I see. I appreciate a good fuck you to the rules. Stick it to the man as they say. Oh wait, you don't own any? Oh, that is rather embarrassing for you. Anyway, this conversation isn't about you. It's about me and my plus one.

*Destino shoves their body pillow into your face. Something about this body pillow is giving you off vibes but you can't quite tell what it is.*

Destino: Have you acquainted with them yet? Body pillow Destino truly is a great listener. The best, I'd say. Probably the second most handsome thing here. Me being the most handsome 'mon of course. It appears you don't have any friends here either. What a shame. What's happened there? Did you decide not to bring any? Or, and this is a wild guess, you didn't have any to bring in the first place?

Lief: "Oh, great. Lovely..."

At the sound of Destino's voice, Lief felt a part of him get seriously peeved. Perhaps he should have seen this coming, that a Pokemon the likes of this Absol would be attracted to such a large gathering in the end. Though it didn't make the realization that they really were here any less bothersome.

Much of what he proceeded to hear was eye-rolling, but otherwise in line with his initial expectations. With a look of annoyance at being called "bugaboo", he started to respond, thinking them to be finished at first.

Lief: "You know, you have got some ner-"

He'd get cut off before he could even begin. Not just by Destino's conceited rambling that he only half paid attention to at this point, but also from the body pillow being shoved against his muzzle. To say it was uncomfortable to smell full blast would be an understatement.

But towards the latter half of Destino's blabbing, he heard the one thing that truly ticked him off.

He'd usually wave it off; he'd usually dish it back in his usual snark tenfold, and play it off like it didn't matter.

But it felt different today. It truly, seriously ticked him off.

Perhaps it was the already poor mood he was in shortly before he got here. Perhaps it was the thoughts relating to why he was so bummed out that he personally found bothersome to feel and even more bothersome to talk about.

Perhaps it was that he ultimately came by in an attempt to escape from that, only to have it thrown back in his face and said plain for anyone to hear.

With a shove as hard as he could muster, he pushed the body pillow, and Destino, well away from him.

It simply came out of him. He felt anger before he could really think about it.

His antennae crimped up, being their most crooked yet. His wings were rigid and fully open, lightly quivering.

Lief: "Like what, do you wake up every morning and practice this shit in front of a mirror? L-like, 'Oh BOY, I wonder who I'm gonna completely piss on today!' Certainly says a lot about why you're so absorbed with yourself, you pretentious prick."

He marched towards Destino with a glare, progressively raising his voice the more he ranted.

Lief: "You have got some serious nerve, coming up to me, acting like a royal pain in the ass, talking about ME not having friends and pushing that disgusting thing right in my face...!"

As if to emphasize the words "disgusting thing", he shoved them back twice, proceeding to get in their face outright. If he hadn't knocked them over clean at this point? He probably did with how hard he shoved right then.

Lief: "When you're the one that caused this mess! If you hadn't poisoned my brain with your 'brilliant advice', maybe I would actually have someone here, and MAYBE I wouldn't be feeling so pissy about what is a perfectly normal part of my goddamn life!"

His fur completely stood on end. He was red in the face, gritting his teeth like he was a stone's throw away from attacking them.

It certainly didn't help that he seriously considered it. Particularly with the way his tail was raised.

*Destino swaggers up to Quill, giving him a judgemental look. It's clear Destino wants to cause some chaos.*

Destino: Now buddy. Looking at you makes me want to vomit. That outfit? Come on. You think you look good looking like that? Honestly buddy, I'd love to help you. Because it seems you really need some advice on how to properly dress yourself from the most good looking Pokémon here. That's me by the way. However, I'm only an Absol, not a miracle worker. Even this is beyond me.
