The duo looked back as Fuku spoke up. Lief in particular turned to face her.

Lief: “Hey, hey. That right there? Cut it out. The less we jinx it or tempt fate, the better.”

Lief: “In fact, if exactly that happens right here, today, I’m blaming you. Shouldn’t have brought it up.”

Pikavee: “Sh-she kind of has a point, though… i-if we did figure out why, and stopped it from happening, wouldn't it be better for everyone?”

Pikavee: “I-it also wouldn’t hurt to check on Rue, either… s-see if she needs our help?”

Lief: “Yeah, there it is… I knew you’d say that. Is it really so hard to worry about yourself, Missy?”

Pikavee was taken aback by that last comment. Moreso the tone he carried as he said it, sounding vaguely irritable.

Lief: “Even Livingston agrees with me about lying low, you know. Reminder. I know I offered in the end, but that does not include ‘be some hero that nobody asked for.’”

Pikavee: “But I–we can’t just leave things the way they are, Lief!”

Lief in turn perked up somewhat at Pikavee’s response, looking at her face. While her voice barely rose a decibel, her previous displeasure at simply doing nothing was on full display in her tone.

Perhaps too much on display, more than she intended, judging by the way she immediately looked guilty.

Pikavee: “I-I didn’t mean…”

Lief took one look between Pikavee and Fuku, and spoke near without his usual cadence.

Lief: “Well the world sucks. It’s just how it is.”

… perhaps you can leave her alone to fend for herself. Might make things better than her staying with someone like you.

It seems like you can barely take care of yourself.

This invasive thought left him even more irritated–openly irritated. His tail quivered with pent up frustration.

In typical Lief fashion, he proceeded to say one sentence too many.

Lief: “Find someone else to bug if you’re not gonna get used to that while you’re here, huh?”

Pikavee withdrew even further into herself. She appeared hurt by Lief’s words… or perhaps just more conflicted in general.

"Given recent conservation efforts for regional variants, probably a fair few. Unova, Kitakami, and Alola are just the ones I'm aware of, though admittedly I'm not sure the Alolan one has any Hisuian variants. They're more focused on preserving species native to Alola that are endangered, like Corsola and Staryu," Kyo explained.

"The institute in Unova is part of the Terrarium in the Blueberry Academy. As far as I know, they have managed to preserve a few Hisuian Pokemon, specifically the Hisuian variant of Qwilfish and Kleavor."

Kyo tilted her head to the side a bit, scanning Fuku up and down in thought. "I can't say I know much about Hisuian Zoroark being preserved though. There may be a few others of your kind out there though. Some isolated members of various now extinct species do find a way to persevere from time to time."

(@askthewhiterocket) Kyo raised her eyebrows a bit as she spotted Fuku. "A Hisuian Pokemon... now that's not something you see every day." She motioned for Meowstic to be at the ready to translate Fuku's answer as Kyo asked a question. "Are you a Pokemon originally from Hisui? Or are you from one of those preserves like those in Alola or Unova? I've heard ghost Pokemon like yourself have surprisingly long lifespans, but I'm not very familiar with your species, so I'm not sure exactly how long is "surprisingly long"."

Possibly in a surprising twist to Kyo, the Zoroark spoke in perfect human.

"I was aware of there potentially being a preserve in Kitakami, but not in Alola and Unova? Just how many Hisuian nature preserves are out there?"

so this absence has now become indefinite.

I realized as I gone on break, I felt RELIEVED. you aren't supposed to feel relieved about your own projects. so that's why I'm taking a longer break now. I've been thinking of askappos, asktrainerzoroark, and askobliviatwo as a chore, and I don't want to think of them that way. I don't want them to be an obligation, I want them to be fun.

now then, that doesn't mean I'm abandoning my projects. I very much want to see them through to the end. I just need to put myself at a distance until I stop seeing them as something I have to do like dishes or laundry.

“it’s, um... an ability? no, not quite... i-it’s not really something i can control all the time, it’s more like... a side effect??” they try to explain with little success before something else catches their eye.

the zorua is looking at fuku intently, as if studying her.

“bai! what are you doing out here, i thought i said to stay at the camp with the others!” bending down, yuta scoops up the zorua, who continues to stare. yuta turns back to fuku, head bent down apologetically. “sorry, this little one is very curious about other people. i should, um... get back to my camp before my other pokemon start to get restless.”

"I'm not sure what a clan of humans is, but a guild is a group of Pokemon adventuring teams who work together!" Coleane said, flapping her wings. "They're led by a guildmaster, and they do exploration, rescue, outlaw capture, inventing, or more, depending on the type of guild!"

"Aren't you dressing as that character humans salivate over? Also you're staring at that Tranquil a lot, are you friends? Enemies? Or...?"

???: The Swellow faces the little Applin. "Heh, nice costume isn't it. I think so at least." The Swellow looks at Paloma again untill facing back to Applesauce. "We.. used to be very close but she had to leave, so it was a surprise seeing her here of all places." ( @asktrainerzoroark )

"Well... I can't do that. Their kind is meant to travel across the cosmos, and I can't just stop some of them, I would have to stop all of them."

"So I just take the children home whenever they accidentally wander in. It's a bit more trouble than it's worth, but it's the best option for everyone."

Anigi: It is what it is, a darkness that refuses to leave. I want to rid of it, yet it will never leave me or the others alone.

I can tell you what it is not, however.

None of those, Genmurou is also in stasis, though it could be the darkness that manifested from him, it is unclear where this darkness came from, however, it could also have came from me.

You misunderstand, the darkness have placed them in such a state, I only stayed to monitor them and the mortals, I have to for their sake.

Amber: She faces the hybrid and looks at Snowdrift for a good second before she starts to talk. "Oh! I've been training under him for a long time! Almost my entire life." Amber said joyfully. "I can't really remember my parents so he's been taking care of me ever since I came." Amber kept staring at the hybrid in bewilderment. ( @asktrainerzoroark )
