so... ace-sabo roleswap AU? (I saw one too many ASL drawings of luffy & sabo laughing tearfully while a transparent ace smiles in ghostly benevolence. now I'm side-eyeing myself like, "...you good?")

au where ace goes missing when asl are kids (after picking a fight he shouldn't have) and is presumed dead... sabo doubles down on watching over luffy and sees him through to the day they both leave

I didn't really firm up anything about the AU, except I think it'd be interesting to see how the brothers' themes would change... like

maybe Sabo's story would explore freedom vs. isolation--all the years that sabo was looking after luffy on Goa and desperately avoiding capture by his parents, he was itching to run away... as much as he loves luffy, sometimes being on the same island as his parents made him feel like he couldn't breathe

his time with the RA gives him a taste of what real freedom is like. a part of him is still trying to reconcile his love for his brothers with how it burdened him at times; after all, threats against them were part of the reason he was captured when he was younger

the climactic moment at marineford;;; would be him finally seeing how it's all connected--how his dream and luffy's and ace's all fed into each other, how the love between them gave him the strength and passion to get up every day. akainu's taunting sabo that weakness and sentiment is all the revolutionaries/pirates know, and compared to the order and stability of the govt, no single one of them will ever stand a chance--"you're like a tiny drop of water against the flames of justice" as he goes after luffy

then sabo can loosely reference one of my favorite cloud atlas lines with "what's an ocean, but a multitude of drops?" as he saves luffy, knowing that this small act of love will billow out a millionfold and he finally feels both free and connected

and then

ace's story would still focus on self-worth & love, but give way more emphasis to the idea of unconditional, inherent worth

in the fight that left him separated from L & S, he was trying to sacrifice himself protect them by rushing their attacker and throwing them both over a cliff into a stormy ocean. it knocks him around and nearly drowns him--he clings to a log to float but still winds up passing out from a blow to his head

after drifting ace is found... by the whitebeards? somehow? but when he wakes up, he doesn't remember much about himself. only a feeling like someone out there needs him to protect them, he just doesn't know who

the only thing he can really do about it is beg the WBs to help him get stronger... whitebeard's heart goes out to this kid, who apparently made his entire identity about his family

he tries to subtly teach ace the idea that he doesn't have to be needed by someone to deserve to live/be a part of their family, but it never quite gets through to ace, who's got some sort of allergy to acknowledging his own self-worth (it's really bc he has nightmares about all the terrible things he heard as roger's son)

and then... 8 years have gone by, and ace is looking at a familiar face in a newspaper. he's devastated as he remembers--he knows who needed him now, his family, and he's already failed them

he still feels the need to go find luffy, though, and with WB's blessing he tracks down the strawhats... sick to his stomach the whole time, wondering how luffy will react to such a worthless older brother

luffy's immediate, unwavering joy at seeing him and learning he's safe makes it all finally click for ace--that he's loved no matter what. or, to quote another fav story, "I'm loved now, but when I wasn't, it didn't mean I wasn't worthy of it."

OH DAMN OH FUCK I CAME UP WITH ASL AU IDEA

what if Roger decided to give Ace to White Beard instead of Garp? And Luffy just kinda got lost in the ocean as a child and... "Well, Ace, he's your baby brother know" kinda think happened.

And then Teach happened. And White Beard told Luffy to join Ace's angry vendetta to keep him grounded and save.

And they accidentally got on the pirate ship where they met a hostage noble guy named Sabo, who's parents just "Well, our son is lost and we better pronounce him dead than to give our money to some pirate scum. Luckily we adopted a new one, who is much better!".

And they just became brothers, searching for Teach and having adventures on their way.

Ace is "I will kill everyone who's gonna mess with my family" kinda guy, who will fight everyone who said something bad towards his old man. He really loves his family and won't betray it in any way, but he sometimes feels teared apart between Luffy and WB.

But Luffy is "I will kick your butt and become a King of the Pirates!" little piece shit, who will always fight White Beard 24/7. And White Beard just allows him to do so and even teaches him to use his Devil Fruit abilities right, because he really wants to have a serious combat with Luffy, when he will become stronger enough. Luffy wants to have his own start, his own ship and crew. He is not the guy who can be under someone's management, he likes being a boss himself (even if he is pretty bad in it). That's why he sees searching for Teach as his chance to form his own crew (and maybe make Ace and Sabo join him instead of WB)

And Sabo is "I just came along" kinda guy. He heard this stories about WB but never saw him in person. He likes adventures and he never knew freedom until he met his brothers. He can have a noble sassines sometime, but he also loves to procrastinate a lot, because his parents where torturing him with lots of noble child duties. He loves to write, and his brothers steal bought him a writer kit because he looked at it sadly in the store. He doesn't want to become a Pirate King like Luffy, or he doesn't want to make someone a Pirate King like Ace, but he really wants to travel with his brothers and see what they see, and write a story about their adventures together, because these two made him feel like a real person

21.  the world  :  is there one thing in life that your muse must accomplish ? what will they do when they complete that goal ?

I think it's find out finally what happened to Ileana and either be reunited or officially mourn her. He and Ileana were their own version of ASL so just not satisfactorily knowing what happened to her eats at him. He has other goals in live he wants to accomplish but this is the one he'd think of as he died if it wasn't accomplished.

One of the reasons he even went to see was that he thought she might be part of Whitebeard's crew. Basically she vanished after saying she couldn't take being in the gang anymore, Jack says she's dead and then BOOM Whitebeard comes and crushes Jack which you know.... when you know this kid is tough as nails and wanted out... it's not unreasonable to think she might've made it out alive and joined the Whitebeard pirates. He'd looked all over for her, came to that conclusion and left. Ofc when he met up again with the WB pirate she wasn't there but one of them DOES confirm that he'd talked to her and that was why they ended up taking out Jack so like !!!!!

But like, for him he's been on that emotional edge Luffy was on before Marineford realizing he could've done something to save Ace earlier but still having Ace's fate in limbo for like... MOST of his life now. She went missing when he was 17 and she was 14 so like.... it's been haunting him like that for ages.

if/when he finally reunites (because she IS alive) with her really he's just gonna be even more annoying and joyful. also just gonna fall into old habits and be their own little ridiculous duo again lol but it's just going to finally let him let that go and like, forgive himself n shit.

and I'm like ok, yeah, the way the WB pirates got Ace to join their crew was decidedly *not great*

although I think you do see a lot of fans who actually kinda vibe with it?

like for one it's faster in fiction with little to no drawbacks bc *it's fiction*,

but I was thinking about how Ace Sabo and Luffy all agreed on finding Freedom on the seas and I think they all look for different types of freedom, ya know?

specifically I'm thinking about the difference between Ace and Sabo, like if the WB pirates tried to do the same to Sabo it just. wouldn't work at ALL. he already escaped from people calling themselves his parents and I think that it would really rub Sabo the wrong way. Sabo loosing his memories, I think as a child that was freedom for him. I think if he knew what he was missing with Ace and Luffy, he would have stopped at nothing to get his memories back, and would have willingly given up that "freedom"

in that way, both Ace AND Sabo were kind of, forcefully given freedom?

and here's where it gets a bit more complicated? I think a lot of people think freedom and it's the idea that you can do whatever you want whenever you want to and either there are no consequences or they're minor or don't matter? and that sort of freedom is completely unreachable. I mean there's consequences to EVERYTHING, some good, some bad, some big, some small. but you can't be so completely independent that suddenly what you do has no effect on anything or anyone else. that's just not how things work.

Sabo, Sabo with his amnesia, is freed from the cage of his family and his life and his name. he's able to use his name (first, but no last name) without being constantly reminded of his family. I like to think the time spent with Ace and Luffy was able to rewrite some of the brain connections of his name and his family.

then, being taken in by revolutionaries gives him the *freedom* to do what I think he would have wanted to do anyway, and that's to make changes in the world and help people on a greater scale. the ASL bros all seem to naturally help people whenever, wherever, and whatever the cost. ALSO, it seems like all three of them seem to make small changes or do small deeds that reverberate outward to make bigger waves if change. (I'm talking, changing one country or one person's situation vs like, the entire world) Ace and Luffy do things just as they come? luffy especially, there's no "I'm doing this bc it's going to make these things change" he's just like, ok this is the block in front of me right now and I'm going to punch it. Ace plans a Little more. that's just how and who they are. it makes sense for Sabo as a character to take that a step further and find freedom in the revolutionary way, which is planning to make these changes and domino effect, etc. he's very big picture.

ok well I meant this to be mostly about Ace but Ace and Sabo really do go together huh.

anyway. Ace, Ace, Ace. he went to sea partially carrying Sabo's dream bc he thought he was dead.... I think, that he partially found his freedom while growing up with Luffy, because while it's sort of implied that he's searching for freedom on the seas specifically, I think for Ace, it's more that he's searching for Acceptance. he keeps going back and forth between running from his parentage, to running right towards it (asking people what they would think if the Pirate King had a kid... oh Ace...) he keeps saying IM NOT, IM NOT, IM NOT! but then asks people about it??? anyhow, Luffy offered him acceptance and unconditional love, and began to sort of loosen the "chains" of his parentage. he can't run from it as much as he tries, because it just is. but Luffy couldn't release him from it because he's just one kid! one snotty little brother!

but Whitebeard... I mean, that's one of the people that Ace thought would hate him the MOST. and for him to say it doesn't matter who Ace's parents are, and to offer unconditional love? and have it be parental love?

I mean the DIFFERENT in how Ace acts before and after joining the Whitebeard pirates? he's so relaxed? he's settled, in a sense? I mean he's certainly not the paradigm of mental health, but he's so balanced! he's still got issues but they aren't plaguing him every second of the day- he isn't worried over people finding out about who he is all the time, bc the people that matter the most know!! and they accept and love him??? acceptance and love are what gave him freedom from what he viewed as a dangerous cage and chains of his parentage, but now are just part of who he is and that's ok?? he's not attacking people and egging them on to hate him for the reasons he gives them before they can find out about his parents?

and yeah he uses a different name, but he also takes on WB's mark? And just ahdksjs parallels between that and the Sun Pirates ahdkwiwk

and he's trying to make someone else king?? like freedom doesn't mean you have to be the top dog??? putting others before yourself can be freedom???

“You’re sad,” Luffy states, hanging upside down from the mast, eyes wide and almost too knowing. “Why?”

“It’s complicated,” Marco answers slowly, because he doesn’t want to explain it again. He didn’t even want to think about it anymore. “Really complicated.”

“Why?”

“Because it is.”

“Why?”

“Because!”

“Why?”

Marco growls, closing his eyes and counting backwards from ten like Vista always did when Whitey Bay was getting on his nerves, “Luffy please.”

“You just have to explain,” Luffy whines. “Please.”

He doesn’t leave, not even when Marco shifts so that he can’t see Luffy any more, staring out at the ocean instead. Anything to avoid seeing those stupid faces that Luffy made when he wanted something and was denied. Ace had said that he could just ignore it, but Marco had seen both Ace and Sabo fall victim to those looks before.

“What if they don’t want me anymore.”

“Why not? They’re your family, aren’t they?”

“Sure, but I’ve been gone a long time, Luffy. I should be an adult. Old even. But I’m not. I’m still,” he gestures at himself. “this.”

“Marco is still good like this,” Luffy assures him, patting his arm softly as he says it. “Just because Marco isn’t big doesn’t mean that it’ll be bad.”

Marco laughs, feeling bitter as he remembers the wanted posters of his friends, his family, “They’ve been sailing for thirty years almost without me. They’ve gotten so big and pops is gonna die soon. Why would they need me? I never should have come back.”

“Won’t they be sad if you never come back?” Luffy asks, dropping down to sit beside him, leaning into him like he did with Ace and Sabo. “Maybe they’ve changed, but you’re still Marco.”

“They’ve grown up. There’s not any kids on the crew anymore, Luffy. That’s,” he pauses considering. “They’ve changed and I haven’t. And that’s not- It’s hard.”

Luffy nods, even though Marco isn’t sure that he does understand. No matter how many times Sabo promises that Luffy is suprisingly insightful, Marco isn’t sure that he’s willing to believe that yet.

“You could stay with us?”

“Yeah?”

“Uh-huh. Ace says that I can be Captain but that means he has to be my first mate. You can be a doctor or maybe just a fighter.”

“Maybe.”

Luffy grins, “But Marco?”

“Luffy?”

“I think Old man mustache is gonna want you back. You’re his son right? Parents normally want good things for their kids,” he leans his head back against the mast and Marco can almost see what Sabo means about insight. “Even if you do go, we’ll still be your friends. Promise.”

“Thank you.”

ASL as merfolk AU

Some coloured sketches to show my designs for my Merfolk ASL au!

In this AU they were raised by Jinbei and the sun pirates! Luffy still met Shanks as a child though and got his strawhat, however he doesn’t wear it except for when he’s not in water directly as to not damage it. 

All three have burn scars from an event that happened when Sabo and Ace were 18 and Luffy 15. After an argument, Luffy ‘’ran’’ away, followed by Ace who’s the fastest swimmer out of the three of them. Luffy was nearing Sabaody when Ace caught up, but a fishing trap caught the both of them, but Ace managed to free Luffy before the slave traders got him. Luffy gets help from the pirates, Jinbei and Sabo, and when they arrive to the slave house and see a Celestial dragon about to purchase Ace, Luffy punches him.

Akainu is the admiral that arrives, not Kizaru, and Luffy takes an attack meant for Sabo as they attempt to fight their way out of the slave house (Which were difficult seeing as they’d never been on land without a bubble coral), where he then got the scar. Ace, shielded Luffy from another attack and got his scar. The attacks sat the slave house on fire, and Sabo was badly burned while he carried his brothers out as Jinbei and everyone else held the marines at bay. Rayleigh and Law helped them escape, and Law treated the trio in his submarine.  Because of this event, Luffy felt responsible for his brothers scars, which Sabo hides, and decided he’d stay at Fishman island the rest of his life to atone for it. Sabo meets Koala and Hack and decides to join the RA.  Ace stays with Luffy, as he feels guilty for causing the argument that lead to his capture, as well as for Luffy’s guilt despite his young age. Ace does manage to convince Luffy to leave home and become a pirate of his own when he’s 17. Luffy leaves with a bubble coral, his strawhat and Sabo asks Kuma to send him to East blue, where Luffy can get a nice start to help him get used to being on land. There he meets Coby, then Zoro and his crew is started.

None of them have a DF!  Ace stays with the Sun pirates, even though Jinbei told him he could leave. He eventually does set out and joins the WB.  Im hoping to do some short doodle comics or an illustration with them in the future, but for now have this coloured sketch!:D

On the Baratie, Prologue - a One Piece Mermaid AU Text Story

Thanks to everyone who sent in their opinion on the East Blue stories poll! I think Sanji’s had the most, so we’re starting off with more Baratie!

While there’ll be a continuation, here’s a bit of prelude, because they need a different reason to go to the Baratie. The ASL Pirates already have a cook after all!

Like a prologue to On the Baratie, Part 1

When Thatch makes up his mind to accompany Ace back to East Blue, he knows that there's one place he wants to visit no matter what.

He's only been to East Blue once, and it was honestly ages ago, and he doubts there'll be another chance in the near future. Not many opportunities to visit the weakest Blue as a commander in an Emperor's crew, after all.

And while Thatch doubts he'd travel halfway around the world for the sole purpose of visiting this spot, he's lucky. Because on this particular trip, it's practically along the way. They're passing right by the area on their way back to re-entering the Grand Line, so there's no way in hell he's letting this slip by.

It's the only request Thatch has made on this journey, and Ace and Luffy, who are the Captains and therefore technically get to decide where they go, have no objections. Luffy's already bobbing up and down in excitement, despite their guides estimating that they still have a ways to go.

"The Baratie, huh," Ace grins. "Never heard of it, we didn't pass by our first time through, did we Deuce?"

"You've never heard of it because you lived in the middle of nowhere, in a jungle with barely any contact with human civilization," Deuce says pointedly. "Most people in East Blue at least know of it, it's kinda famous."

Ace just shrugs, and Luffy whoops as the movement of his shoulders momentarily boosts her higher. Ace indulges her and repeats the movement more aggressively until she's bouncing, and Deuce sighs. The two captains' attentions have shifted, and now they're preoccupied by the most important topic of all: food.

"Food~!" Luffy sings, hopping from one arm to the other as Ace switches to spinning her around, and Deuce has to duck to avoid her tail. "Yummy yummy food at a restaurant! It's gonna be amazing!"

"It really will be amazing, if Zeff hasn't lost his touch," Thatch agrees, and Luffy and Ace cheer. "I've never eaten at this restaurant of his, but I was a fan of the Cook Pirates when I was a kid." 

His expression darkens, and Ace stills, recalling that Thatch mentioned they all died or something.

"Sucks what happened to them," Ace offers.

But Thatch just shrugs. It was around a decade ago, and shit happens out at sea. "I'm just glad Zeff survived. He'll have trained the new cooks well, and it'll be funny to see the old man actually settled down as a civilian."

Thatch was still a teen the last time he saw Zeff, who was Captain of the infamous Cook Pirates back in the day. They were always picking fights, and picked the wrong one with Pops, and predictably lost. Pops let them live, and they had a grand party, and Thatch remembers being captivated by their culinary expertise.

Thatch chuckles to himself, and the two brothers look at him curiously, blinking with adorably similar expressions.

"I just remembered, Zeff tried to scout me. Pops wasn't thrilled."

Ace barks a laugh, hefting Luffy into a more comfortable position before she suddenly squirms out of his arms. Luffy makes a grabby motion towards Thatch, and Ace obligingly if reluctantly moves closer to let her swing up onto the taller man's shoulders.

Thatch perks up at the sudden attention, because it's not every day that the little mermaid chooses to climb someone other than her brother. Thatch knows she doesn't need it, but offers her a hand to get settled more comfortably, which she takes with a pleased little purring sound that makes his heart skip a beat. Thatch pointedly doesn't look at Ace, but he can still feel his burning gaze.

He's not sure what prompted the sudden transport transfer, but suddenly Luffy's leaning forward over his shoulder to peer directly into his face, and she's close. Thatch tries very hard not to blush.

"But if the Zeff-dude cooks are that good, are they better than you, Thatch?" Luffy asks, eyes wide. "That can't be right, because Thatch's food is the best in the world! Better than even Makino's!"

Those words do make Thatch flush crimson, and Ace snorts. Thatch ignores him, too busy trying to control the warmth bubbling up inside his chest.

Thatch doesn't think he's arrogant, but he also isn't unused to his food being praised. As ungrateful as most of his brothers back aboard the Moby usually are, he's still the head chef who leads the culinary division of their entire fleet, and it's a position he's earned. He's personally trained and assigned all of the cooks on every Whitebeard ship. He knows he cooks well.

But there's something special about Luffy's unique brand of painfully genuine praise. Even though they've been traveling together for a few weeks now, she never gets bored of singing her appreciation at every mealtime with, if anything, increasing enthusiasm. It's like every time is her first time trying his food. Thatch in no way needs her compliments to adore her, he was besotted far before she even knew he was a cook, but boy does he appreciate them, and he doubts he'll ever really get used to them.

Thatch has been called the "Best Cook in the World" by many, and he'd accepted their words politely. But to hear them from Luffy feels like the highest honor he can ever attain.

Thatch feels unbearably fond as he reaches up to fluff Luffy's hair, and she leans into his hand, eyes curving up into slits like a happy kitten, her tail curling back and forth at his back.

Ace cheerfully ruins their moment.

"We'll just have to see, Lu, and maybe if you like their cooking better, we can ditch Thatch and kidnap one of their cooks." Ace leers like the evil little shit he is, and Thatch gasps with exaggerated indignation.

"No, no!" Luffy boos her brother, clinging to Thatch like he's the embodiment of all the meals Ace had threatened she'd lose, before she swings her tail around to smack at Ace none too gently until he grudgingly raises his arms in surrender.

"If we like their cooking, then we can keep Thatch AND kidnap one of their cooks!"

"Lil Seastar, you're not satisfied with just me, even if my food is the best in the world?" Thatch teases, and sticks his tongue out at Ace when he scowls. The young Captain isn't so thrilled with Thatch's new nickname for his baby brother, and Thatch thinks it's fair revenge for him being mean. 

"Thatch's food is the best!" Luffy cries again, and Thatch glows. "But if we steal a Zeff, then we have two cooks, which means more food!" She nods, pleased with her conclusion. "More food is always good!"

Well, she's a little confused, but her point is made. They hopefully won't steal Zeff himself, as Thatch doubts he'll be happy to part with his beloved restaurant, but perhaps nabbing one of his assistants isn't a terrible idea.

While handling even Ace and Luffy's appetites is no problem for Thatch, who's used to feeding the entire Moby Dick, some company in the kitchen might not be bad.

I don't think it's actually ever officially stated whether Thatch's Division is actually in charge of dining, but there are other divisions that are specified, so I thought it would be interesting, so I made it that way ^ ^;

(Edit: Actually it IS explicitly stated that the 4th Division is in charge of dining, this is canon and not just a headcanon whee~!)

And if Thatch as the head of the cooking division, then to me it makes sense that he'd be insanely good at it, not just your average chef. Because I mean, they're the Whitebeard pirates. And sure, they're not as food-centric as the Big Mom Pirates, but the WBs always have quality. Cooking, I feel, is a lot more subjective than say, "Strongest Swordsman in the World" but I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that Thatch is Up There.

This isn't at all to shit on canon!Sanji or his cooking which is probably also insanely good, but Sanji's a lot younger, and the places he's been, the people he's learned from, and the people he's cooked for are far more limited. He, like everyone else, is learning rapidly by stepping out into a far larger world.

Thatch, in comparison, has been on the Grand Line for a loooooong time, traveling with the most infamous crew currently in existence, and probably has picked up a LOT of things from a lot of people. While he doesn't have an official canon age, given the ages of the other Commanders (Marco 45; Jozu 42; Vista 47), I'm putting him at 41 here. That's decades of difference in experience.

It's one of the reasons why I think exploring Thatch and Sanji's mentor-rival relationship in this AU could be so much fun, because think of how much Sanji could grow with someone like Thatch in the crew.

Luckily, Sanji's dream is to find All Blue, not to defeat the cooking equivalent of Mihawk in Iron Chef Grand Line, so outside of fighting for the heart of the love of their lives, I think they can get along quite well ^ ^;

(also do u like his nickname for Lu. I had to consult a friend. But I think it's beginning to stick for me ^ ^;)

Hi!!! Sorry it took so long for this to be answered! I’ve been trying to get to all the asks and not flood your feed! Sorry this is so rushed but I’ve been super busy! I’m sorry TuT

So. Marco and Law are college buddies. They have classes together and they do rotations at the same hospital. Law is training for surgery and Marco is training in internal medicine. They see each other quite often and sometimes even find themselves at the ASL boys’ home at the same time.

They bond over tattoos and schoolwork, but the extent that they hang out? Idk. Marco in my head chills with the WB pirates or works at the grocery store. Marco spends more time with Ace (guys I need a list of the WB pirates you’ll want modernized I can’t think of anyone other than Ace and Marco and Mr Edward) for some reason in my head the WB pirates play basketball together. That’s how they bond. I love basketball I have a bias.

Law spends more time with Bepo and his Heart crew. (And Luffy) when he’s not being incredibly busy with studying and working at the hospital? (I am not a med student if something is wrong PLEASE let me know)

okay since my last wip was a zolu one ill give u one of the ones that isnt a zolu one

warnings for minor character death (literally had one scene in canon) and themes of revenge

So after sabos “death” in the asl flashback ace says something along the lines of he wants to be strong enough to get revenge for Sabo aka kill a celestial dragon. it seems to fade as he looks afte luffy and dadan tells him about the truths of the world and all esp when he meets the whitebeard’s but... what if it didnt

So ace is a new captain, one who has never been to sabaody - and the whitebeards are taking great joy in showing him the wonders of the amusement park and shopping grounds and giant trees where ace can literally jump around in like his childhood.

but the eventuality is that a celestial dragon will come through.

Ace and the Whitebeards are unlucky enough to be in the vicinity of one - and its no any celestial dragon that walks through that town.

Its st. jalmack.

the one who “killed” sabo

Ace doesnt lose it as marco drags him behind a street corner to avoid being seen by the dragons but it is a close thing.

He storms back to ship, utterly furious and starts packing his bags, and... puts on a shirt. He goes up to Whitebeard and gives a shocking request.

to denounce ace as one of his sons because what ace is about to do will put the entire family endanger.

(because the one thing Ace cares about, you see, is family)

Whitebeard is of course like fuck no son ur mine now and i never letting you go, and marco is like what do you plan to do?

And ace puts a hand on his tattoo - the one with the crossed out S - and says, “Im going to kill the man that murdered my brother just as he reached freedom”

because you see, in this au, ace saw what happened to Sabo. and hes never let that go.

The Wbs are of course confused - They thought Ace only had one brother. “Luffy?” they ask and Ace shakes his head. “Sabo” he says his voice breaking at a name he hasnt said since Luffy.

He doesnt tell them the story, but his resolve is clear. And the Whitebeards well - they can go hand to hand qith the admirals on the best of days. Ace was just being dramatic.

“We will help you” Whitebeard says, and gives the order for all but a small ship to sink to Fishman Island. The island already knows the wrath of the celestial dragosn after all.

Ace cries is thankful and all that and then gets to work. With Marco and Thatch they go to St Jolmack and kill him right on the streets, just lke he did to so many others, and Ace yells “thats for my brother”

They make their escape, admirals equal match for the commanders of the wb pirates and the world is thrown into Chaos.

Because somebody stood up to a celestial dragon and WON without consequences- cant they do the same.

Story goes on to Sabo getting the reveal from the newspaper about Ace getting revenge for him, meets up with him the same year luffy sets sail, gets yelled at for ace putting his fam in danger when he was still alive yadda yadda yadda and when it seems like the world has calmed down from the Revenge of one Sabo ...

Luffy does it again and while he still gets sent off the world is thrown into chaos with the Cief of Staff of the Revs openly siding with the pirates and completing the trip punching / taking out his own CD.

and lets just say zoro actually did kill that one CD instead of Bonney saving him just for the heck of it lmao.
