4.15 "Death Takes A Holiday":
SAM Police say Mr. Jenkins was shot in the heart at point-blank range by a nine-millimeter. DEAN keeps eating, speaking with his mouth full. DEAN And he's not a doughnut? SAM Locals are saying it's a miracle. DEAN Okay. SAM It's got to be something nasty, right? I mean, people making deals or something. DEAN You think? SAM What else would it be? DEAN I don't know.
Dean isn't acting like a partner—isn't bouncing ideas off Sam like he usually does automatically when Sam's found a case and begins engaging with him about it. He isn't offering Sam a single thought in his head. He's just chewing his food—playing the role of the dumb brother Sam so clearly wants him to fall into.
Sam made it very clear the previous episode (under the siren's influence) that he's stronger, he's smarter, and Dean is holding him back. Therefore, the role Dean ought to play is "dumb sidekick" who simply concedes to Sam's views and doesn't get in the way—who's not as brave as Sam (an epic lie) or as smart as Sam is (another lie of epic proportions) and shouldn't act like it by daring to contribute thoughts.
Dean isn't playing into this thinking because Dean believes Sam's nonsense about him, or because he doesn't want Sam to leave. He's playing into it to make it very clear to Sam that the follower/leader relationship he seems to want so desperately—where Dean hangs on his every word and never questions him—isn't what Sam actually wants at all. The partner he's benefitted from all this time is much better than a dumb brute who just eats his burger.
SAM puts his laptop in his bag. SAM Get that to go. DEAN looks down and doesn't move. SAM Come on. SAM stands up, picking up his bag. DEAN doesn't move except to chew. SAM looks at him, swinging his bag over his shoulder. SAM What? DEAN looks up and keeps chewing, then glances away and back. DEAN Sure you want me going with you? SAM Why wouldn't I? DEAN I don't want to be holding you back or nothing. SAM Dude, I've told you a hundred times, that was the siren talking, not me. Can we get past this?
This is exactly what Sam did at the end of 1.10 "Asylum"—after spewing a very similar list of Dean's "deficiencies" compared to him. He simply stated that he didn't mean it, and felt that was enough—and because he so blatantly lied, Dean saw there was zero point in pressing the issue. Dean treats Sam's hurtful words (that he knows Sam meant) the same way in 4.14. There is no point in talking about it if Sam is just going to lie.
This time, in 4.15, it's actually worse—because Sam was the one who pushed and begged for Dean to open up about Hell—saying he just wanted to help... and then in 4.14 "Sex and Violence", he took all the trauma Dean trusted him with and spit it back in Dean's face:
You're too busy sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. Whining about all the souls you tortured in hell. Boo hoo. (x)
This is the second time Sam has taken a closely guarded secret of Dean's and deeply harmed him with it after begging and pleading and saying he just wanted to know so he could help. If I was Sam, and I actually didn't mean what I said in 4.14, when my full faculties returned, the very first thing I would do is reassure my brother that he is NOT weak and pathetic for being traumatized. What we get from Sam in 4.14? Not that at all.
SAM Dean, look, you know I didn't mean the things I said back there, right? That it was just the siren's spell talking?
It's said flippantly—the same tone he'd use after accidentally bumping into someone on the street. Sam's concern isn't sincerely reassuring his brother that his experiences in Hell don't make him weak. He just wants the matter not to be discussed. In 4.15, he worsens it, by making it clear all he cares about is how his own character is perceived—not whether Dean is actually okay or might have absorbed with words (even if they HAD been false). Sam’s sole concern is defending his character from "false" allegations. It's all about him being treated unfairly by Dean (who dares to not believe him... because Sam's been lying about everything) and how Dean is so terribly unfair because he hasn't gotten over it yet... which in of itself, only reinforces that Sam is lying about not meaning it. What he says here reinforces that he thinks Dean is overly emotional and fussy and his feelings are irrational.
I also sincerely doubt Dean asked him "a hundred times". I also doubt any of the times Sam "told" Dean he didn't mean it were any less flippant and self-centered than the first time. I wouldn't doubt Dean's been giving Sam a hard time, because he knows for a fact that Sam has been lying to him (he heard him talking to Ruby, Dean called her unlisted number in Sam's recent calls and she picked up) and Sam still refuses to admit it. Why wouldn't Dean assume Sam is also lying about not meaning anything he said? The very fact that Sam's hiding his contact with Ruby (after Dean worked with her and even attempted to thank her in 4.10 and also saved her life) reinforces that Sam's explanation under the siren's influence was real. He is leaving Dean out, because he thinks Dean is stupid and weak and is holding him back. They both know Dean meant every word he said, and so did Sam. And we'll have it confirmed for us that Sam meant it in 4.21. Saying Dean's asked him "a hundred times" is nothing than further invalidation of Dean's feelings—more assertions that Dean's irrational and his feelings are invalid and unfair and he's just being crazy.

Prologue
JONATHAN CRANE X FEM!READER
summary Your mentor is unhappy with your career choices. But her worries only serve to make you more curious.
warnings none! this is just a little prologue
notes a little intro to kick things off. I'll shortly post the first chapter as well haha Also, Potomac is just a name I borrowed from the DC universe. I know it's different in the comics, so don't shoot me please <3
! MINORS DNI !
story masterlist • main masterlist • taglist • kofi word count: 1.1k
“Look… I just don’t get why you wouldn’t want to go back to Potomac. From what I’ve read in your sophomore internship review, Dr. Rabin was genuinely impressed with you and said he’d be excited to have you back for the Senior internship. What happened? I – I would’ve understood anything, really. But Arkham? You really applied there?”
Professor Campbell’s office is a time capsule. A familiar, cozy environment that you’ve been inhabiting for a whole hour per week since the start of the last semester. Decorated with undemanding potted plants and cheesy motivational posters on the walls around you. The smell of paper and hibiscus hangs in the dry air, warmed up to an almost uncomfortable temperature by the ever-running radiator mounted to the wall. Usually, your presence in this room is accompanied by a sense of inner peace. One hour per week during which you’re allowed to fantasize about a glowing future as you sit in front of your academic mentor. But today, the tiny woman with the prominent smile lines is looking at you with thinly-veiled indignation. It’s an ugly expression on her, you decide. People like Campbell are better off smiling and laughing, like the human embodiment of a Golden Retriever.
You shift in your seat, resisting the urge to gesture with your hands to avoid seeming defensive. No, you keep your posture open and inviting on purpose. The body language of a genuine person.
“Potomac Psychiatric Hospital is just not what I want,” you start, speaking gently in an effort to make her emphasize with you. “I need a challenge. I don’t want to hang around rich people with mild cases of burnout all the time.”
Professor Campbell’s face scrunches up with mild displeasure, and you feel the need to quickly correct yourself.
“No offense, of course. But my main interest does lie in… the tough cases. And there are tough cases at Potomac. Jeremiah Arkham himself called his asylum the ‘Ivy League of insanity’. And Dr. Crane used to be a professor here. You knew him, right?”
Campbell flinches, and you could swear you were able to see an expression of genuine fear in her eyes for a fraction of a second. And for that fraction of a second, you were speaking to a prey animal instead of your favorite psychology professor.
“Well… Professor Crane – Doctor Crane was a… well-known member of the faculty. By which I mean everyone knew of him and the kind of seminars he held. Nobody really knew anything about the man aside from his special interest in fear-based disorders and most likely crippling caffeine addiction. Back when I knew him, he was… eccentric to say the least. But he knew what he was teaching about. Students fled his lecture hall as soon as he was done speaking, but he really was a brilliant mind. He was a professor for a reason, after all.”
You nod along to her words, unable to stop that little spark of personal curiosity from growing and festering within you. If everything goes well, you’d be able to witness firsthand how peculiar this man is for the entire summer. Much to her dismay, Campbell’s tales only serve to encourage your decision.
“So, if the two of you knew each other, there’s already a networking opportunity here,” you conclude, folding your hands in your lap.
“Yes but –“
“Also, Arkham is right here in Gotham. I don’t have to rent a new apartment anywhere else, I already know the city, and so on and so forth.” You feel a little bad for cutting her off, but it’s almost ridiculous how much she’s trying to dissuade you from your plans. Campbell doesn’t bother to hide her displeasure anymore, letting out a sigh as she taps a manicured nail against the porcelain of her teacup.
“Listen,” she starts, choosing her words carefully, “we’ve had many students apply to Arkham Asylum for an internship over the years. And those whose spirits didn’t get crushed during the interview were worn down by the work itself. Besides, the influx of applications is monumental. There’s no guarantee that you’ll even get invited to the interview. In my humble opinion, you should write Potomac an email and – “
“I already got invited.” Campbell’s eyes widen, and the silence prompts you to continue. It’s a little difficult to not seem smug as you speak, but you manage. “The interview is this Friday.”
“Friday…” Campbell reaches out for her cup of tea, trying to wash away the bitter taste on her tongue with a mouthful of hibiscus and apple. In that moment, you feel a little bad for the professor. She’s always tried to make time for you and dutifully offered help wherever she could. And in return, you’re acting childish, trying to incite a one-sided contest over an internship. You let out a sigh along with her, shifting in your seat; softening up.
“This is… something that’s really important to me,” you offer, trying to apologize without saying it. “Potomac was a huge help for getting into the swing of things. I… learned a lot about the basics. And for anyone else, that hospital is the perfect match. But I don’t want to graduate, secretly doubting whether I’ll ever be ready for the real work. I know Arkham is a baptism by fire. But it’s what I need.”
Campbell hums in response, stirring a third sugar cube into her tea. It’s just a habit to keep her hands busy at this point. You’re pretty sure the crystals don’t even dissolve anymore.
“Besides,” you continue, smiling at her because you know this will give her at least a shred of hope, “even though I got through to the interview, I might not even get an internship spot. So… this entire conversation might be redundant anyway.”
This gets you the response you were hoping for, and the professor nods thoughtfully as the smile you’re used to returns to her face. She sounds relieved when she answers you.
“If that should happen, I’m sure you could still send an application to Dr. Rabin and he’ll have you on his team in no time at all. Oh, why am I even worrying? You’ll figure it out.”
You nod, feeling in real time how your smile relaxes into something more genuine. Suddenly, the warmth in the room doesn’t feel oppressive anymore. As the mood switches to something more cheerful, the two of you talk some more about your final thesis before you decide to end the conversation on a good note. Campbell rises from her seat along with you, and you mirror her smile, relieved to finally be done with this interrogation. Your mentor heads to the door after you, gently patting your shoulder.
“Let me walk with you. At least until the staff lounge. I need a fresh cup of tea.”

My original theory for S2 and the Stalker has completely been obliterated, and honestly from all the new big names attached to it, and the smaller names, it’s a lot to fit in only 8 episodes.
The cast is very crowded for an 8-episode season. With limited time and “space” in the story, I feel like with Wednesday the only common thread and obviously will be in every episode, and Ortega herself saying each episode will feel like its own movie, I feel like most of the actors will actually only get one episode.
There’s also some indication that some of the students have already wrapped up their filming (specifically Joy Sunday via IG posts who is a top billed star), which is very short to me if true and insinuates to me that only one or two episode will be at the school. Which also supports the other rumours that the Addams estate will be heavily featured.
I would like it if some of the students got a significant B plot to explore their characters more throughout the season, but I don’t have confidence in the writers to explore anyone but Wednesday. So far, every other character is just a prop for her.
My new theory is that the season will start at the Addams estate. Maybe a funeral to intro many new Addamses. Then each subsequent episode will have her deal with different Addamses and the family lore.
She’s also supposed to be on a break, so starting at the Addams estate makes sense to me.
In no particular order, but what I think will be included in episodes:
1: We see Wednesday’s home life and more interaction and possible backstory to her friction with Morticia. This will include Morticia, Gomez, Pugsly, and Grandmama. I don’t think Pubert exists in this universe.
2: Uncle Fester centered episode which will also serve as a backdoor pilot to his spinoff.
3-6: She visits with various Addamses, really expanding the Wednesday universe, each with their own issues she has to figure out. So, each episode is more or less a procedural, horror mystery/ “Outcast of the week” This will include Noah Taylor, Billie Piper, Christopher Lloyd, Francis O’Connor, Haley Joel Osmet, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo.
Besides just having something to do over break, perhaps Wednesday visits family to test the stalker’s reach, who is still sending her proof of being stalked. When back at Nevermore, she finally figures out who the stalker is because she has eliminated who it couldn’t be based on how they’re able to stalk her from family member to family member and then back to Nevermore.
7-8: Break is over and they’re back at Nevermore. Enid will heavily be featured to talk about her status as a transformed wolf within her pack. Maybe talk about some issues with Ajax because he’s not a werewolf and now she has more options within the Werewolf community. We’ll also see what happened to Tyler and Sheriff Galpin. And it’ll introduce the new faculty at Nevermore.
Maybe Tyler confronts his dad about what he knew about his wife being a Hyde, if anything, and what it means to have a half-outcast child. Galpin will talk his son into accepting his responsibility in what happened, and Tyler voluntarily turns himself in and Thandiwe Newton is his new therapist, perhaps at the same insane asylum his mother.
Wednesday visits him before he’s on a long absence to get his powers and mental health in order. They make peace.
New students Evie Templeton and Owen Painter will feature. I wonder if Owen will be Enid’s triangle love interest, as he has dark, pale features like Ajax. Perhaps she has a type. lol
Xavier, Divina, Kent, and Yoko’s absence will be explained that their families feel that Nevermore has gone downhill and they are pulled from the school to attend an alternative Outcast school.
Steve Buscemi as the new Headmaster will do something to spring into the 3rd season and we’re left with a question about something. lol

Miss Fisher Snippets (235)
Today, March 24, is our dear friend Deb Smith’s birthday. It has been two months since her passing, and we all miss her terribly. Her clever Miss Fisher photo edits and posts, irreplaceable. Her zest for life, inspirational. Her sense of humor, irresistible. The list goes on and on. I came upon a quote the other day, “Sending sweet birthday wishes up to heaven, where you shine brighter than ever.” Here’s to you, Deb. Today, we don’t grieve you; we celebrate you.
********************
In S2E12 Unnatural Habits, Mary described Aunt P as a “rich old battleaxe”, a derogatory term but painted a vivid picture – aggressive, overbearing, and forceful. Admittedly, she could be like that occasionally, but when it came to her son, Arthur, who was with limited faculties and had a weak heart, she was nothing but loving and caring. Her older son, Guy, had always found a way to wrap her around his little pinkie, but there was one thing he couldn’t convince her to do – to get Arthur locked up in an asylum. She didn’t “tolerate” Arthur’s existence. She was genuinely tender, patient, and affectionate toward him. His death might not have been a total shock given his poor physical condition, but it was still a big blow that devastated her.
Not knowing how to handle the loss, she put up a front to hide her sadness, forbidding anyone to mention Arthur’s name. When confronted directly, she bluntly refused to discuss it and went as far as saying “I just wish people would forget all about him”. Lucky for her, she had a strong support system of family and friends who wouldn’t allow her to bury and ignore her sadness. The music therapy of “There’s a Long, Long Trail A-Winding” accompanied by a friendly arm around her shoulder and a gentle hand squeeze opened the gate to let the raw emotions flow. She was finally able to grieve properly.

Rafal Trzaskowski, the candidate for the PM’s liberal-democratic coalition, has chosen to fight his two nearest challengers on the right over immigration and security, leaving the campaign largely devoid of any fresh ideas.
“I’m proposing a fundamental change, which is that the 800+ child subsidy for Ukrainians should only be given to those who work, live and pay taxes in Poland,” the 53-year-old mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski, told supporters at a January campaign event in eastern Poland.
Trzaskowski, the candidate of the Civic Platform party led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, said Poland should not repeat the mistakes made by countries like Sweden and Germany, where “it paid off [for immigrants] to come just for the social benefits.”
That proposal clearly indicated that Trzaskowski, long seen as a member of the progressive wing of the centre-right Civic Platform, was going to fight for voters on the right of Poland’s political spectrum.
Much of that work is already being done by the government itself, with Tusk introducing such populist measures as suspending the right of migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border to claim asylum on March 27 as well as announcing Poland would not henceforth adhere to various EU laws on migration, including the Dublin Regulation and the Pact on Migration and Asylum. But Trzaskowski’s statements on benefits for Ukrainians, coming from a man otherwise considered a progressive liberal, are clearly meant to build on that.
The Tusk camp’s bet is that liberal voters will vote for Trzaskowski anyway, as most believe replacing a president controlled by Law and Justice (PiS), as the incumbent Andrzej Duda is, would allow the government to take more control over the country. The main battleground, therefore, is to steal as many votes as possible from the right wing.
Current polls indicate that Trzaskowski is on track to win the election, the first round of which will be held on May 18 (if necessary, a second round will be held on June 1), although the rapid rise of Slawomir Mentzen, the candidate of the far-right Confederation alliance, is raising concerns among some over the potential long-term costs of liberals borrowing the language and themes of the radical right.
Behind the numbers
Ben Stanley of SWPS University’s Faculty of Social Sciences in Warsaw, who monitors polling trends, tells BIRN that when it comes to the main two candidates, Rafal Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki – presented as a “civic” candidate but endorsed by the previous ruling conservative party of Law and Justice (PiS) – the polls have been “fairly stable”.
Trzaskowski’s support tracks at 36-37 per cent while Nawrocki’s stands at around 25 per cent, with the Warsaw mayor dropping a few percentage points since January as new candidates on the left announced their candidacy (so far, over 40 individuals have announced they are running).
Yet the most dynamic evolution in support has been for the third-placed candidate, Mentzen, who started out at around 10 per cent and is now polling at 19-20 per cent.
“If current trends were to continue, Mentzen could reach Nawrocki, but that really depends,” Stanley comments. “Mentzen might actually have a ceiling for his support. And voters of Mentzen are typically male, young and from small towns, and this is a very volatile electorate who may declare their support now and later not show up on polling day.”
Stanley says a reason behind Mentzen’s success is that the 38-year-old tax adviser is seen as “hard-working and an effective campaigner”. However, the politician enjoyed a similar rise before the general election in 2023, only to struggle defending his policy proposals in the latter stages of the campaign and eventually saw his support drop significantly in the run-up to election day.
“It seems plausible that we might face a similar dynamic now,” Stanley says. “Mentzen is running an effective pre-campaign, but when faced with the detailed questioning that comes during the last part of the campaign, he might not manage so well.”
The most likely scenario for a second round remains a run-off between Trzaskowski and Nawrocki. In that scenario, Stanley’s numbers put Trzaskowski at 56 per cent support versus 44 per cent for Nawrocki.
“The race is Trzaskowski’s to lose,” Stanley thinks, adding that Nawrocki has been enjoying fairly stable levels of support from PiS’s core vote, but not bringing much additional value by himself.
“Nawrocki is a rather remote individual, not particularly appealing,” Stanley thinks. “In the past, with Andrzej Duda or [the former late president] Lech Kaczynski, PiS could count on the candidate’s appeal with heartland Poland. People could identify and feel a connection with the candidates. But this is not the case with Nawrocki.”
Security – and only security
The 42-year-old Nawrocki, who currently runs the Institute for National Remembrance, has been promoting PiS’s version of political history in this and previous posts for many years. As such, the historian’s speeches during the electoral campaign reference major events in Poland’s past to draw parallels with current challenges related to – almost invariably – immigration and security.
On March 27, Nawrocki challenged Trzaskowski to a debate on the security of the Polish state in the context of the situation globally and on its borders, where a migration crisis is being fomented by the regime of Belarusian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko with Russia’s assistance in order to destabilise the EU.
On April 9, they finally got round to debating each other, in what actually turned out to be two separate events, hastily organised and without the presence of all the candidates in either. The confusion ensued after Trzaskowski made an open invitation to Nawrocki to debate him in the small city of Konskie in central Poland. Other candidates complained that they hadn’t been invited and some of them rushed off to Konskie to join nevertheless.
In the meantime, Trzaskowski and Nawrocki were having their own disagreements about which TV channels could broadcast the debate, with Nawrocki insisting some TV channels associated with right-wing parties be involved. In the end, one debate amongst five candidates – including Nawrocki but not Trzaskowski – was broadcast by these channels deemed right-wing. Later that evening, another debate featuring both Nawrocki and Trzaskowski was carried by the public service broadcaster, which a subsequent viewer poll showed the Warsaw mayor winning, followed by Nawrocki and parliamentary speaker Szymon Holownia.
Gavin Rae, a sociologist at Warsaw’s Kozminski University, says the candidates are mainly competing “on the right, on war and immigration, on who is the most militaristic and ready to spend more on the military.” The difficulty for PiS, Rae tells BIRN, is that “Tusk has moved so far to the right on these issues, that there is not much room left to compete with him.”
Rae describes Nawrocki as a “not likeable candidate and shady character”, and says it’s not clear why PiS picked him as their choice to stand in the election. It could be, Rae speculates, that with PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski’s powers waning with age, Nawrocki was regarded as an outside option that avoids the party having to make an ultimate choice between its various competing factions.
Another source of weakness for PiS in these elections, Rae argues, is that “PiS lost its pro-social face”.
“With PiS, you used to see 15-20 per cent in support coming from core voters, nationalists and Catholics, but then they expanded because of the pro-social offer they made to people,” Rae explains. “Some voters were thinking, ‘I may not like PiS, but I’m getting the [now 800+ subsidy] so I will vote for them’.”
“But that kind of discourse is not central at all in this campaign, despite people’s living standards getting worse,” he adds.
According to Rae, Mentzen is definitely benefitting from the campaign being fought on the ground of the hard right. “They all speak about the same things, immigrants and the war, but while the others don’t want to say some things directly – for example, on the Ukrainians – Mentzen is clearly articulating those messages, and he is maybe the most believable when speaking about those things,” he says.
Rae points out that Mentzen’s popularity also comes from “articulating the frustrations of young men especially, telling them how to take care of themselves in this age of individualism.”
While the experts who spoke to BIRN for this article tend to think Mentzen is unlikely to steal second place from PiS’s Nawrocki, the fact that the campaign is being fought on topics where the far right is the most convincing comes with long-term risks.
“Poland’s government is actually making the same mistake as German mainstream parties and others in Europe did,” Olena Babakova, a Ukrainian journalist and lecturer at Vistula University in Warsaw, tells BIRN. “They think that if they use the arguments of the alt-right on migration, they will take away votes from them. But, as the situation in other countries has shown, what happens is that voters in the end decide to vote for the real thing, not a watered-down version.”

Best faculty member? Worst?
So i admit, the staff members arent a group i've really looked at indepth yet, so my opinion is based off your run of the mill playthrough experience.
Best staff member, in terms of how fun they are to watch imo, is probably gonna be Edna. she's foul crass but not a total Bitch to jimmy. her whole self compels me; i find a lot of potential with how she interacts with people and her position as the cook and im so fuckin glad they made her a Lady instead of a guy as seen in concept art. support womens wrongs ❤
i also like galloway personally but that's probably just bc he's my Type (pathetic middle aged man) and i find his whole happy volts arc to be batshit insane. it really speaks volumes how the mental health system is in bullworth if he went to an asylum instead of rehab. and then got busted out by a fucking 15 year old brat.
as far as the worst goes uhhhhh let's say Mr Matthews. he's boring as is, i hate geography (i straight up cheated in all his classes sorry lol), and he's got wasted potential with how he never spawns or shows up in missions.

It missed.
Jinx had tried so damn hard, yet she messed it all up yet again.
The rocket still broke windows and snapped a few beams, but it simply kept going and exploded relatively harmlessly over the empty stretch of land behind the council building, a strip of rocky wildlife preserve that was too worthless to build on.
Caitlyn tackled Jinx with the last of her strength, her body freezing as the horrors of the past week caught up to her.
Vi grabbed her sister's wrists, taking Caitlyn's handcuffs off her belt and securing Jinx's arms behind her back.
"You're lucky that failed, Powder." Before she could check on Caitlyn, a swarm of Enforcers crossed the bridge.
Caitlyn scrambled to her feet. "She works for me!" She cried, holding out her badge.
To her relief, the enforcers heeded her words, two of them taking hold of Jinx.
"Have the prisoner seen to by a doctor as soon as possible. She's an insanity case, bound to an asylum as soon as a bed opens. Put her in the high security lock up for now."
"Not Stillwater?" Vi whispered, watching one of the enforcers resort to picking Jinx up in order to dodge her attempts at taking out his ankles.
"Don't thank me yet. There's only one maximum security criminal asylum in a reasonable distance from Piltover."
"Which one?"
"Arkham."
"Wait, no, I ... she ..."
"I will ensure proper funding is given to her care, I promise. Unless you think she would survive Stillwater?"
"No, no she wouldn't."
The trial was brief, the evidence overwhelming and the verdict settled before the councilors reconvened in a more secure meeting room.
“On behalf of prior accounts of her mental well-being and eyewitness reports, her prison sentence is best served in Arkham Asylum in the city state of Gotham." Caitlyn said, praying that no one disputed her findings.
"That's acceptable to me." Cassandra said. "I move to adjourn this meeting to spend some time free to regroup with family and friends after the attack.
"But we haven't-"
"Councilor Salo, it is clear to all that Jinx's mind is unsound as an untuned violin.” Heimerdinger said. He had made his way back to Piltover after the attack. “I recommend we heed the advice of those tasked to hunt her in the first place. If Vi and Caitlyn can go through such an ordeal and still choose a punishment that both fits the crime and may allow for Miss Jinx to regain enough of her faculties to allow us to give her a more comprehensive trial at a later date, I think we should allow it. In the state she is now, her testimony would only be nonsensical. If she improves, and she is able to stand trial with a sound mind, then we can reevaluate whether or not to send her to a traditional prison." Heimerdinger seemed proud of himself for that statement.
"And the gutter woman?" Salo waved at Vi. "Are we to just let her roam around free?"
"Correct." Mel said. "She helped take down Jinx and Silco, and has given us an opportunity to take care of the shimmer problem while their leadership is busy trying to seize power. Her freedom is an appropriate award for her accomplishments, along with a modest flat and a probationary vocation until she proves she has adjusted to the Piltover way of doing things. Start out with an escort to and from work, and a curfew, let's say the start of the third shift. Outside that, her time is her own. The rest could be finalized later as needed. As for you, Caitlyn, consider your reemployment with the Enforcers set in stone.”

The most insane thing House of Anubis tried to pass off as kinda casual/not that big of a deal each season:
S1: Victor and Mr. Sweet specifically being fully prepared to leave Patricia to die at Rufus’ hand. Like… later on in the season they harp SO much on how they actually have a “duty of care” to the students, and how they’d never go out of their way to hurt them. But Rufus in no uncertain terms says “Yeah, if you don’t point me in Joy’s direction, I’m straight up killing this girl.” And the faculty kinda shrugged and said “What a shame.” AND THAT NEVER GOT BROUGHT UP AGAIN EVER?!?!?
S2: Rufus casually being a master of disguise with the peel off face-mask and vocal work when he was cosplaying as that dream therapist for Trudy. I’m sorry, I know there’s technically way crazier stuff that could occupy this season’s space on the list, but what the hell?? Where did he learn to apply SFX makeup like that? Rufus and Peeta Millary clearly went to the same school of cosmetology on the off season because that was insane, and nobody seemed to care that he could do this. Bro, if I knew that one of my mortal enemies could change his face and voice THAT much with a few prosthetics, I would assume everybody around me was Rufus in disguise. Sibuna moved on from that way too quickly.
S3: Denby casually drugging her adopted sister until she was incoherent, sequestering her in a mental asylum, stealing her identity, then later on taking her out of the mental asylum and locking her in a windowless room in her house where she drugged her more, and also had her on strict food rations. Do I even need to go into why this was so crazy? And yet no one in Sibuna even blinked when confronted with this. They tried to pass this off as no biggie, and I’m still flabbergasted. Just casual sisterly antics, am I right?
#this is just my opinion#and the first things that came to mind off the top of my head lol#like clearly these aren’t the MOST insane things that happened#but my criteria was basically that if they passed over it without much gravity or just flat out didn’t acknowledge how messed up it was#it made the list#obviously they had to skirt the severity of a lot of this to keep it on Nickelodeon/keep the rating#but my GOD#house of anubis

everybody have called people saying Trump and his administration is echoing Nazi Germany crazy yet the whole autism registry thing, EEOC giving up people's personal information to the government the weather or not they are Jewish, it's not really helping, especially since you got Trump going again the supreme Court vote that ruled against him and people don't want due process. it's really uncomfortable and people side waving these worries like nothing's going to happen because this didn't happen in Trump first term feels like it's going to make someone kill themselves for real
I made a comment to that effect on the autism thing on a ask I got about it earlier, I don't think the register is a good idea unless it's 100% voluntary even then I'm iffy about it because I want less government involvement in my life not more.
That's the leftists that want more government
Not seeing anything directly related to the EEOC so this may or may not be what you're talking about
This is news to me, looks like a incredibly poorly thought out way to try and take the pulse of the Jewish community in academia.
oop and just spotted this
likely well intentioned and poorly thought out, at least I hope.
Supreme court thing at least with that one guy could be resolved by sending him anywhere but El Salvador, which should have been how it went in the first place, executive branch is well within its rights to deport people, but he had a asterix by his name that said 'not to el salvador' guy was denied asylum but did get that.
Rest I don't know much about.
He shouldn't be ignoring them though I do think if he actually crossed the line there would be impeachment proceedings happening, so he may well be within the scope of the power of his office.
Which with all of these things he could be handling them a whole lot better, I will not disagree there.
We can also find parallels to any group we want to from all corners of the political spectrum, doesn't really matter who is in charge or what country we're looking at either, there's always going to be something and the people pointing that out are going to be screaming it at the top of their lungs too.
I don't like any of these goings on up here, at least not as they're laid out. The email thing isn't horrible, just badly thought out from what I read, the idea of a registry for autistic people is baffling, and that dude needs to be locked up but just not in el salvador apparently.
As for the supreme court checks and balances is still in play, balance may be off right now but I can't be sure since I'm not as well versed in constitutional law as I could be.
Fingers crossed I'm right

Gotta admit i don't dislike Gerard Way's current ongoing comic, Paranoid Gardens, but I dunno I feel like it almost would've benefitted from being more mundane? Like, a retirement home for superheroes has a lot of potential for just explorations of institutionalization, how we treat the elderly in general, medicalized social stigmas, issues autonomy, issues of self worth and like "mid"life crises, fun jabs at the obvious familiar tropes around more established comic book fixtures like Arkham Asylum or the Xavier Institute. It moves on to its big conspiracy plot almost too soon for us to even get all that familiar with the cast, and more over I don't know that this idea even really benefits from there being an overarching conspiracy. I'd almost prefer to just follow one old person's personal journey of grappling with their loss of faculties and agency and sense of place in the world and leave it at that

Misuse of Texas Troopers Has Broader Implications for the US
Authorities Unleashed Militarized Border Force on Students

While the pro-Palestinian student protests and accounts of police crackdowns at universities across the United States in April have fallen out of the newscycle, students at the University of Texas at Austin continue to face criminal charges and other punishment after Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed the same police used to harm migrants at the US-Mexico border. The misuse of police against student and faculty protesters in Texas was perhaps the most egregious example from across the nation.
It is also a reminder that unchecked abuses carried out at the border often foreshadow abuses of people living in the US interior. And like the students, migrants also continue to pay a high price for exercising their rights in Texas.
The Columbia University encampment of solidarity with the Palestinian people sparked a wave of student solidarity encampments across the nation, including at UT Austin. Student leaders said they objected to the “Israel-led, US-backed genocide in Gaza” and called for an immediate ceasefire as “Israel continues to bomb hospitals, schools, homes, and refugee camps while cutting off food and water to more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.” The protesters demanded UT Austin divest from Israeli companies they say are complicit in killing Palestinians.
While university administrators in some states called local police to break up protest encampments, on April 24, Abbott also deployed the Texas Department of Public Safety – the same heavily militarized state troopers used against asylum seekers and border residents under Operation Lone Star.
Abbott’s multibillion-dollar Operation Lone Star has violated the rights of migrants and Texans alike and is enforced primarily by troopers, who have been involved in injuries and deaths under the program, including at least 74 deaths from high-speed vehicle chases. Operation Lone Star has also included attacks on freedom of association and expression of groups providing support to migrants in Texas.
On June 15, Abbott renewed the “disaster proclamation concerning border security,” first issued in 2021 and triggering the deployment of thousands of state troopers to the Texas-Mexico border to arrest migrants on state charges, including criminal trespass. Abbott’s perpetuation of the invasion and disaster narratives are false and risk fueling white nationalist violence.
The deployment of state troopers to disperse the peaceful protest and arrest students and faculty is just one manifestation of the growing misuse of police in Texas, demonstrating mission creep of the troubled Operation Lone Star. Under the program, the Department of Public Safety regularly carries out air and digital surveillance, racial profiling, unlawful arrests, and deadly high-speed chases; deaths and injurieshave also resulted from its use of razor wire and buoys with saw blades.
